Death Battle Predictions: DIO VS Alucard

DIO, the everlasting vampire nemesis of the Joestar Family.

Alucard, the immortal vampire servant of the Hellsing Family.

“Being Human is a given, but keeping our humanity is a choice” said a wise young man one day. But through desperation, these two once noble men rejected their humanity to become a Vampire that flipped your every day Count Dracula, Edward Cullen, or Nosferatu on their heads, with badass Devil May Cry style guns, knives that Sakuya Izayoi would be jealous of, and backbone ghosts they can summon to beat the ever-living shit out of those who dare oppose them. Though as one embraced his Vampirism, becoming the very enemy of the family he joined in, the other saw his powers as a curse, hoping that one day, that someone could prove a worthy match and end his life, though being the Servant of a well-respected family.

Though they may have gone dormant within the 19th Century, these two would later prove they weren’t too far behind what they were back then. Making their marks on the modern worlds they were brought back to, these two proved to make their worlds in fear of their names. Both have lived long, immortal lives of regret, power, and respect, but only one will succeed this Halloween, and only one will be there to haunt your dreams tonight. Let's get Heaven and Hell ready, for a DEATH BATTLE!

A Little Heads Up

Both series of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Hellsing are truly loved for their styles of gory action and the damn cool villains. But, both do suffer alternate versions that go off of the original story lore, looking at you, Eyes of Heaven and anime Hellsing. This is why we are going to focus on the original sources that brought these two bastards into the night.

The characters will be analyzed with the primary sources, the manga, and faithful anime adaptations, in mind first and foremost, with a few feats from the JoJo OVA, 2007 Phantom Blood movie and 2001 Hellsing anime used as supporting evidence so long as they don't contradict too much. For any possible misconceptions or more confusing aspects of the two's abilities, they will be addressed in detail below at the end of the Overall section.

Oh, and prepare for A LOT of Hellsing Ultimate Abridged jokes. There will also be a few from Antfish’s JJBATAS too.

With all anime plot explanations out of the way, let’s see who is anime's best vampire.

Background

Dio

“JoJo, I’ve learned something. There’s a limit to human ability. The harder you plan, the less things will go according to plan. As long as you’re limited by humanity… I’VE REJECTED MY HUMANITY JOJO!”

Born in the late 1800s in England, Dio Brando was a young boy who had nothing to his name. His father, Dario, was a lowlife who only knew to cheat, lie, and steal, his mother was long dead due to Dario’s abuse, and even when Dio himself could scrape by on his own, society at large looked down on him as a lowly peon. Over time, Dio would grow resentful of the hand he was dealt and those who surrounded him, wanting to take what he saw as rightfully his. Eventually, Dario would fall ill and as luck (and a little poison) would have it, happened to rob a gentleman who took pity on him and would agree to take care of Dio alongside his son, Jonathan Joestar.

But in spite of the kindness Dio received from his newly adopted family and finally having the life of wealth and status he had craved all his life, the only thing he saw of them was a chance to take every penny of theirs for himself. He spent a good deal of his childhood constantly tormenting Jonathan psychologically while upholding his own personal image as a refined gentleman, and by their adult years, planned to murder his adopted father in the same way he had killed Dario. Once Jonathan had realized Dio’s wicked plans, Dio would plan to kill Jonathan with a curious stone mask that would impale the wearer’s face upon contact with blood. But after Jonathan had exposed Dio’s crimes to the police, Brando found that he had nothing left to lose, put on the stone mask, and stabbed Jonathan’s father to activate its capabilities. At that moment, Dio threw away his humanity and would become a vampire lord with the goal of ruling the entire world as he saw fit.

With his newfound undead powers, Dio terrorized England with a horde of undead zombies and seemingly unkillable by conventional means. But in becoming a vampire, Dio had gained a newfound weakness to the sunlight, and thus a new technique that Jonathan learned to weaponize; energy identical to that of the sun. Jonathan would confront Dio in a climactic battle atop his castle, reducing his brother’s body to ashes and ending his cruel reign.

But this would not be Dio’s end, far from it. Dio’s head had survived this attack, and the vampire was able to stalk his brother on his wedding day, killing him and dragging them both into a coffin that would sink to the bottom of the ocean. In a twisted act of newfound respect, Dio would take Jonathan’s body for his own, crudely placing his head on it while trapped at the bottom of the midnight sea for over a century. Eventually, he would be unsealed and discovered that he had awakened a new power alongside his newfound body. A spirit known as The World that would allow him to stop time. With this newfound knowledge, Dio went from a man who wanted to rule the world to considering himself a god who had to snuff out any threat to his mad quest to stand at the top of heaven itself. His evil had attracted the newest generations of Joestars as if their fates were intertwined, battling them in Egypt as they sought to end his terror on their bloodline once and for all.

Dio came dangerously close to victory, with the newest Joestar, Jotaro Kujo, barely managing to edge out and finally kill him by destroying The World. But in spite of Dio’s death, his legacy would live on in the form of a son who would go his own way, and loyal servants who would carry out his plans to reach heaven. It’s as if as he lived and died, the world would always bend to Dio Brando.

Alucard

“To reign over the kingdom of the world, to make its peace and write its laws; to be generous to the obedient and merciless to all who would stand against you. Nothing ever changes; two thousand years and you still act like the world is yours.”

Before the events of Hellsing, Alucard was once the historical Vlad Tepes, also known as Vlad the Impaler and Vlad III Dracula. As Vlad, he was once the ruler of Wallachia, a historical and geographical region of Romania, and is infamous for the deaths of between 40,000 and 100,000 of his enemies and various villains in his own country through execution and torture by impalement. During his eventual execution, Vlad Tepes drank the blood of corpses that surrounded him and became a vampire.

After obtaining vampirism, Vlad Tepes became the fictional vampire of legend, Count Dracula. Now a supernatural creature of the night, Dracula continued his reign of terror. However, he was eventually defeated by the combined might of Abraham Van Helsing, Jonathan and Mina Harker, Arthur Holmwood, Quincey Morris, and John Seward. However, instead of killing the Count, Van Helsing decided to tame the vampire into becoming a servant for him and his family. Eventually, the Hellsing Organization would be created to combat all occult and demonic threats to humanity, and Dracula, now renamed to Alucard, would be its trump card.

Afterward, Alucard (in the form of a young girl) would serve in World War 2 as he was tasked to stop Millennium from creating an army of artificial vampires that could help the Nazis win the war. Partnered with 14-year-old Walter C. Dornez, Alucard would eradicate most of the artificial vampire soldiers. However, key members of Millennium escaped and went into hiding. After World War 2, it was decided that Alucard was too powerful and potentially too dangerous to be used as a weapon. As a result, he was sealed away in the basement of the Hellsing mansion.

After the death of her father, Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing became the director of the organization. However, her uncle attempted to murder her and take the headship of the organization for himself. This inadvertently awakened Alucard, who quickly overpowered her uncle. Then, in a bold move, the 12-year-old Integra fires the bullet that ended her uncle’s life. By doing so, she is left at the helm of Hellsing and the true master of Alucard.

After a decade of serving the Hellsing Organization, Alucard rescued police girl Seras Victoria from a group of vampires and turned her into a vampire in an attempt to save her life. He would also gain an archrival in the form of Alexander Anderson from the Iscariot branch of the Vatican. Eventually, Millennium, led by The Major, came out of hiding with its new breed of artificial vampires in an attempt to create a new world war. Alucard would fight and defeat some of Millennium’s top officers and would eventually defeat Alexander and the traitor Walter. While Millennium was defeated, it came at a cost. Alucard accidentally absorbed Schrödinger, causing the vampire to no longer stay in phase with the rest of reality and disappear as a result.

30 years later, Alucard would come back after killing his own lives except for one so that he could exist with Schrödinger's powers. He returned back to the Hellsing Organization and reunited with an aged Integra and a more experienced Seras.

Equipment

Dio

Knives

(“You know what they say! The first one always cuts the deepest! ...and that’s a lotta firsts.”)

Dio carries a plethora of knives on his person (possibly stolen from a kitchen). These are typically used as throwing weapons, and his favorite tactic with them is to throw them at his target while in stopped time, whether it be targeting vital areas, or spamming them at every angle to ensure they’ll have absolutely no room to escape no matter what.

Street Sign

(“...what’s he doing with that stop sign? Why’d he break that stop sign in half? Why’s he coming over here? ...oh no, oooohhhh no! Nononono! NONONONONO!”)

A random street sign DIO ripped up from the ground. He uses this much like a battleaxe and intends to use it to slice off Jotaro’s head, only being stopped by a timely POLNAREFF ASSIST, MOTHERFUCKA!

Road Roller

(“ROAD ROLLER DA!!!”)

Mostly one of Dio’s finishing moves where he picks up a fucking road roller and beats the shit out of it, causing it to explode.

Boat

("Enjoy your stay on the S.S. Plummet, JOTARO!”

“...that’s a boat-”)

A large fishing ship that DIO threw at Jotaro in an attempt to drown him.

Oil Tanker Truck

(“Look what Iiiii’ve gooooot!”

“Welp! That’s a first!”)

Essentially functions as the Road Roller in the OVA, complete with a different memetic line. (“An oil tanker for you!”) Thankfully, you’re gonna be fine, so long as you don’t hit the gas…

CLICK!

...pipe.

Alucard

Casull

The Hellsing ARMS .454 Casull Auto is a very powerful handgun and one of the first personal firearms wielded by Alucard. Custom designed by Walter C. Dornez, the Casull is a semi-automatic magnum pistol, based on two pre-WW1 handgun designs by Colt: the M1903 and M1905 pistols (the early versions of the M1911). The gun weighs approximately 6 kg unloaded and has a magazine capacity of six.454 Casull cartridges. The gun fires custom-made explosive .454 Casull rounds, with the steel bullets bearing a core made from the melted silver Christian cross from Manchester Cathedral that can ricochet off walls to be more difficult for opponents to avoid. They are used in a six-round single-stack magazine. Unlike ordinary guns, Casull can kill vampires.

Although Alucard has reloaded it at many points throughout both the manga and anime, Hirano has joked in the back of volume 1 that "They're all cosmoguns that can hold a million rounds". This is also evidenced in the first OVA, where Alucard takes out a large group of ghouls without reloading. The .454 Casull is powerful enough to penetrate NIJ Level II and NIJ Level IIIA vests, having a muzzle velocity of approximately 580m/s, while a Level II is only rated for .357 JSP which grants 436 m/s, and a Level IIIA is rated for .357 SIG FMJ Flat Nose, with a velocity of 448 m/s. It has been shown to be powerful enough to one-shot ghouls and rips lesser vampires apart, even capable of tearing through a whole squad of Policia without even breaking a sweat.

Jackal

When the Casull failed to be effective against the super-priest Alexander Anderson, Alucard had Walter develop an even more powerful gun, the Jackal. Fully named as the Hellsing ARMS 13 mm Auto Anti-Freak Combat Pistol, the Jackal is an extremely powerful handgun and one of Alucard's personal weapons. It’s a massive pistol made especially for Alucard, and one of the most powerful handheld weapons in the Hellsing series. It has a length of 39cm (16 in), a weight of 16kg (35lbs), and a black gunmetal construction, and uses massive 13mm explosive rounds. Unlike ordinary guns, Jackal can kill vampires.

The Jackal fires a huge, armor-piercing, 13mm hollow point bullet. The rounds are jacketed with a "casing" of blessed Macedonian silver and feature an explosive tip containing a charge of pre-blessed mercury. However, the 13mm round's size limits the Jackal's magazine capacity to six rounds. The rounds use "Marvell's Chemical Cartridge N.N.A.9", and are suggested to be very short by the minimal movement of the Jackal's slide. This could be due to the cartridge being powerful enough to require only minimal propellant. The bullets were designed primarily to be used against Iscariot's top agent, Alexander Anderson, who shrugged off the Casull's rounds with ease. They proved powerful enough to severely reduce Anderson's great regenerative abilities and blow off parts of him. The Jackal's ammunition also makes for an extremely effective anti-vampire combat weapon in general.

The Jackal's ammunition might be even more powerful than the .50 BMG round of the Barrett M82 sniper rifle. 13mm is bigger than .50 caliber (12.7mm), and it is shown capable of destroying entire walls and blowing off body parts with one shot, something even the Barrett cannot do. Granted, the .50 BMG cartridge's massive propellant charge makes its bullet travel at around 900 meters/second, but the 13mm's exact ballistics are unknown. It has been shown to be powerful enough to one-shot ghouls and rips lesser vampires apart, even capable of tearing through a whole squad of Policia without even breaking a sweat.

Thompson Submachine Gun

Although the Casull and Jackal are his primary weapons, Alucard has a few others that he used in the past. During WWII, he utilized a Thompson sub-machine gun (also known as the Tommy Gun of gangster fame), a submachine gun used throughout most of the mid-20th century by criminals, police, and soldiers. It used a fairly large .45 ACP cartridge, boasted a rate of fire of 1500 rounds per minute, an effective range of 150 ft, and at its largest, a 100-round drum magazine.

Claymore

During his time as Vlad the Impaler, Alucard used a Claymore, a Scottish blade that comes in at almost 5 feet long and over 6 lbs. Alucard can summon up this sword at will and showed decent mastery of it in his fight with Anderson (a priest whose sole specialty is bladed combat).

Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird

An advanced long-range strategic reconnaissance aircraft capable of Mach 3 and an altitude of 85,000 feet. Alucard used this to travel across the ocean, and is capable of enhancing it somehow with his abilities.

It’s on his Christmas list for a reason.

Abilities

Dio

Vampire Physiology

Regeneration

You can’t be a vampire if you can’t heal, and the way JoJo vampires can heal is Bizarre. Hehe. Dio’s healing factor as shown above allows him to repair nearly all physical wounds given to him. He’s healed from gun wounds, fire before it burns him, impalement, and even being bisected and “disarmed” just to reattach the arm a second later. Other vampires like Straizo once regenerated after being blown up by grenades

However, it does have limits. Hamon, extreme heat, intense fire, complete destruction of the brain (before it regenerates), and the one ability that defies the JoJo series can over-tax his regen. Even if he survives these measures, it may take tens of fresh, young women or Joestar blood to bring him back to peak conditions.

While Dio doesn’t use many of his specific powers in Part 3 while fighting, he has frequently demonstrated the use of other vampiric abilities such as regeneration and flesh buds, and these abilities are simply an aspect of his vampiric physiology. It’s likely he doesn’t do so due to Jonathan’s body still needing to properly bond with him (As supported in a dubiously canon light novel) and because a majority of his more offensive powers are covered by The World.

Vampirism

A staple of vampires is blood-sucking, however, unlike most traditional vampires, vampires in JoJo’s don’t actually suck up blood from their teeth but rather their hands and fingers. Dio can use this move to suck up the blood of others to heal himself, which was shown after his beatdowns by Jonathan and Jotaro.

Anyone whose life force gets completely sucked will be revived as bloodthirsty zombies under Dio’s control.

Vaporization Freezing

By lowering and removing his temperature in certain body parts, DIO is able to freeze and even leaves freeze burn on others on contact. This freezing is thorough enough that Dio can effortlessly break a Hamon master-like glass. Said Hamon master knew the legendary Thunder Cross Split Attack. He doesn’t use these powers at all in Part 3, and in the OVER HEAVEN light novel, it’s explained that the powers were put in flux by Jonathan’s stolen body, and DIO didn’t use them due to them being less effective in Stand battles.

Space Ripper Stingy Eyes

(What a name)

Dio is able to pressurize the body fluid in his eyes and then create small openings in his pupils, eventually unleashing two jets of fluid powerful enough to cut stones and even split clouds with ease. While he doesn’t use them that often in Part 3, in the Audio CD, he does use them in a battle against Jotaro.

Hypnosis

Through simple eye contact, DIO has been able to hypnotize others to join his side, as shown with Poco and Jack the Ripper; however, an abundant charge of Hamon can remove the effects entirely.

Flesh Buds

A mind-control device created from a Vampire’s own cells, Dio has notably used these things to sway the minds of many initially suspicious, or unloyal servants of his, making them into his own playthings that can hunt down whoever he wants dead. Notably used on Noriaki Kakyoin in his time as a Dio servant, it was used to further sway him to Dio’s side given his rough upbringings in life, and it made him much more loyal to the Vampire lord himself.

Flesh Buds can be removed, though in the process of doing so, it will sprout out tentacles to try and attack the person trying to remove the bud, and the host of them as well. Over the course of several years, flesh buds gradually devour their host’s brain, leading them to a more brain-dead state.

In the case Dio is killed, the Flesh Bud mutates on the host, turning them into a monstrous mutated blob that is unable to be killed normally.

Telepathy

DIO has shown the power to be able to communicate with others telepathically, such as when he spoke to Enrico Pucci through his mind. Admittedly, this is more than a tad debatable whether it’s an actual thing, or if it’s just Pucci hallucinating DIO in his mind, therefore, this ability will not directly impact the overall verdict.

Teleportation

Yeah, this one can be debated upon on the ability, but it happened in the show. Apparently, Dio was able to teleport away in a shadowy mist when he lit his minions to try to kill Johnathon and his master. This was one of those “one-shot only” events and never shown again, so not a lot to present here. Due to its debatability, this ability will not directly impact the overall verdict.

Levitation/Flight

Through some unknown means, DIO has shown the power to be able to fly through the air at high speeds, as well as outright stand on the air itself without being affected by gravity. It’s unknown if this is specifically a vampire ability, or if it’s something that certain users can just do, as Jotaro, who has a similar kind of energy, was shown to be able to do the same. Jotaro has changed direction mid-air via Star Platinum punching a wall, so the “flight” is likely kinetic energy transfer from the “spirit” to the user.

Biological Manipulation

("DON'T TALK SHIT ABOUT MY MAN-CATS!!!")

One of Dio’s more twisted abilities is his manipulation of flesh and other living beings in any form he chooses. He can use this to create entire armies of undead slaves, rip veins from the flesh, or even create demented fusions by fusing the flesh of other living beings, whether they be human, animal, or both. Likely using this ability, he can even graft other’s limbs onto his own body to regenerate, like when he attached his severed head onto Jonathan’s headless corpse.

Healing

A possible subset of the above, DIO has shown the ability to not only heal his own wounds, but also the injuries of others, such as when he healed Enrico Pucci’s club foot.

Stands

Yes, that is Stands with an “s.” And the part you have all been waiting on.

A Stand is the physical manifestation of one’s fighting spirit, created from that individual’s psyche. While they all vary in different shapes, forms, and functions, Stands are usually equipped with special abilities to aid their user in however, they see fit. How one acquires a Stand in the first place also tends to vary as well. Outside of other Stands and their users, Stands are invisible and intangible to normal humans, although their effects can still be felt on their user’s command.

Stands follow a very loose set of rules:

  1. Stands move according to their user’s commands.

  2. Stands can only be affected by other Stands; non-Stand users will not be able to see them entirely.

  3. When Stands are injured, their users are also injured in the same spot.

  4. Stands disappear when their users die. Conversely, destroying a Stand kills their user.

  5. A Stand’s effectiveness and power is inversely proportional to their operating range; Stands become more powerful the closer they are to their user.

  6. Stands can be inherited.

  7. Only one Stand can be assigned to a single user.

  8. Stands may evolve depending on their user.

The World

Dio’s own personal Stand, gained from being pierced by the arrow of Enya the Hag. The World is a close-range type stand, allowing it to excel at melee combat with incredible strength, blinding speed, and insane precision. The closer the Stand is to the user, these factors increase.

Its most basic attack is a Stand Rush, in which it rapidly punches at blinding speeds to overwhelm opponents and beat them down with hundreds of strikes in a matter of seconds. The nature of Stands also means that it’s naturally invisible to normal humans without Stands, as well as being able to turn intangible, shrink down in size, and be used as a natural defense to protect Dio’s own physicality.

Overall, The World’s stats are: (here is a link to an explanation of how Stats work in JoJo)

  • A - Destructive Capability

  • A - Speed

  • C - Range (10 m)

  • A - Durability

  • B - Precision

  • B - Development Potential

Time Stop

(”ZA WARUDO! TOKI WO TOMARE!”)

Whenever he pleases, DIO can use The World to stop time everywhere for a few seconds. During these few seconds, they can move and act freely while everything else is immobile and unaware of their surroundings. The time stop is instantaneous and spamable, and its duration grows longer every time he uses the power. By the end of his life, DIO could stop time for 11 seconds from his perspective.

Jonathan’s Hermit Purple

When Jonathan’s stand manifested, DIO was able to use Jonathan’s version of Hermit Purple. He used this to know the location of the Joestar group through a psychic photograph from a camera through lightly tapping it, rather than outright destroying one like Joseph’s version. He also used it to show Polnareff a glance of his sister's killer through a crystal ball.

Based on Joseph’s Hermit Purple, this Stand’s stats are most likely:

  • D - Destructive Capability

  • C - Speed

  • D - Range

  • A - Durability

  • D - Precision

  • E - Development Potential

Alucard

Vampire Physiology

(“Excuse me, but I'm a fuckmothering vampire! I killed a LOT of people to get this title! I deserve to be called such.”

In the Hellsing universe, there are two types of vampires: a true vampire and an artificial one. Alucard is classified as a true vampire since he’s a former human being who has sucked the blood of his own free will. As a vampire, Alucard possesses physical abilities that are far greater than a human being. He’s inherently strong with his superhuman strength, allowing him to easily rip people apart with his bare hands and teeth. He has superhuman speed and reflexes, meaning he’s too fast to be tracked by opponents. He also has enhanced endurance and durability, making him very hard to kill as conventional weapons are nothing more than a nuisance to him. Additionally, like other vampires, Alucard can drink blood. He has a row of massive sharp teeth which he uses to violently tear into the necks of his victims and suck all the blood from their bodies, gaining their soul, memories, and special powers (if they have any). So powerful is Alucard’s relationship with blood that after decades of being imprisoned and effectively in a coma due to starvation, he was able to wake up and return to full strength after only a few drops. Unlike other vampires, Alucard seems to have no problem with sunlight, only complaining that being up during the day is exhausting. Lastly, as with all other vampires in the Hellsing universe, Alucard possesses many supernatural powers.

Immortality

While it is unclear if Alucard is a true immortal, he is at least biologically immortal due to being immune to disease and aging. He's been alive since the 1500s and hasn’t decayed in power since then. Alucard seems to also possess structural immortality since he has suffered all manner of injuries to the most extreme degrees, only to reform himself. However, the vampire himself has asserted that there is no such thing as a true immortal. Alucard references the souls he’s absorbed as his “lives,” and that every time he’s hit with a fatal wound, it’s redirected instead to his repository of souls. Alexander Anderson postulates this, actually, and later Alucard confirms it. This means that there’s maybe a way to kill him.

Regeneration

(“How the blood-soaked Protestant hell did you do that?!”

“Fuck you, that's how.”)

Alucard has the ability to perfectly and quickly recover from any physical injury thanks to the millions of souls he has absorbed. He has been torn to shreds by conventional weapons and holy weapons designed to kill his kind and has survived all of it. Holy weapons, while they do affect him more, are regenerated all the same if not as quickly. He has easily regenerated from being turned into swiss cheese by enemy gunfire, not once, but twice, being impaled multiple times by Anderson’s blessed (read: anti-vampire) bayonets, getting his head cut off, and being reduced to a blood puddle, and getting literally blown to smithereens. Despite these injuries, Alucard always comes back up with a big ol’ terrifying smile on his face.

Vampirism

The most notable initial ability of a true vampire-like Alucard is their ability to transform their opposite-gender virgin victims into their offspring. Attempts to convert non-virgins or virgins of the same gender will result in the creation of a ghoul. In the case of successful blood exchange, the virgin party, or "fledgling", will enter the first stage of vampirism. While lacking the higher-level powers of the "master" vampire, they still possess superhuman powers and a psychic connection with their master. They will also have the traditional weaknesses of vampires, such as varying sensitivity to sunlight. As with their masters, upon the consumption of a human's blood of their own will, the restrictions imposed upon the fledgling vanish and further abilities are unlocked, completing the transition to "true undead" status.

Vampires in the Hellsing universe use a host of powers regarded as unholy to prey upon humans and accrue power. Additionally, vampires classically are purported to have a high pain threshold and a measure of enhanced strength, properties many Hellsing vampires share. Agelessness from the point of infection and a need to sleep in a coffin or in contact with the soil of one's birthplace is also noted. Common characteristics of Hellsing vampires are elongated fangs and red eyes as well as a thirst for human blood. Along with an inability to cross large bodies of water without means of external locomotion, common weaknesses for Hellsing vampires are symbols, materials, and relics that are holy in nature, silver, and silver that has been blessed. The heart is generally a weak spot for a vampire, although it’s difficult to use this method to kill vampires if they have lots of familiars with Alucard being a prime example.

Hypnosis

(“You want to give me the penthouse.”)

Alucard has the ability to control minds, doing so exclusively with humans. The afflicted human will enter a euphoric, stupor-like state and their eyes will glow red. They will be compliant to all of Alucard's commands, doing and speaking as he wills. This hypnotic link is established through direct eye contact and does not waver, even when Alucard's attention is elsewhere.

Shapeshifting

Like many vampires, Alucard possesses the ability to change into anything. However, the vampire has stated that his standard form is meaningless and that in reality, he has no set appearance. He can change shape at will, from his standard Victorian-era get-up to his old Wallachian armor. Throughout Hellsing media, Alucard has changed into a mass of bats, insects, and snakes, a young girl, shadow clones, a large black mass of amorphous darkness and shadow that he used to control the supersonic descent of an SR-71 Blackbird, several "default" forms, a swarm of hands, and the form of a hellhound.

Alucard is even capable of turning his body into some sort of dark reddish mist in order to render attacks against him useless.

Hematophagy

(“BITCH I EAT PEOPLE!”)

As a vampire, Alucard has the ability to consume blood, raw. He has long, conical fangs to assist in this job as well as a serpentine-like tongue. His feeding habits have been seen to vary: from the traditional neck-biting to simply ripping people to pieces and outright devouring them. Alucard doesn't seem to need blood to survive, however, if starved of it, he will enter an inactive death-like state.

Extrasensory Perception

Alucard has senses that are not only sharper than a mortal's, affording him abilities such as perfect accuracy, but he has abilities that they completely lack. In particular, he possesses a 'third eye' that allows him to see things from far, far distances. Though he never uses it to do so, he can likely see through things that fool human eyes, as Seras does when facing Zorin Blitz. Keep in mind that Seras has some of Alucard’s blood in her, giving her some of his powers and abilities. This is not an inherent ability and must be used consciously, as Alucard was unable to see through Tubalcain's illusionary clones. Similarly, Seras was unable to see through Zorin's illusions until told outright that's what they were.

Dark Composition

Though he generally dons a corporeal, humanoid form, Alucard is made up of a highly variable otherworldly substance that is black in core and reddish on its edges. This can be especially seen whenever he takes heavy damage with the darkness being immune to conventional weaponry. Along with composing his being, it can serve as a weapon. Alucard is able to transform this material into virtually anything he chooses, like a puddle of goo.

Weather Control

Alucard has the ability to control the weather to an extent, as demonstrated by the fog created when he returned to London aboard the H.M.S. Eagle.

Telekinesis

(And before you ask, yes, he is doing a JoJo Reference.)

If Alucard can’t use physical strength to move large and heavy objects, he simply uses his telekinesis. After Millennium's vampire Nazis stranded him in the middle of the Atlantic on an aircraft carrier, Alucard was able to telekinetically sail the ship back to England in only a few hours. On top of that, he easily manipulated the ocean of blood in London in order to bring it towards him to absorb. Naturally, telekinesis is invisible, and Alucard has a city-sized range. He’s even precise enough to use it against multiple human-sized opponents at once.

Telepathy

Alucard is able to communicate telepathically with his fledgling, Seras. Telepathy doesn't seem to have a maximum range for him. He can also read the thoughts of others if he wishes.

Intangibility

(“HEY KIDS WANNA SEE A DEAD BODY?!?!”)

Alucard has the ability to walk through solid objects, such as walls.

Levitation/Gravity Defiance

Alucard has shown to possess an ability to defy gravity. He’s able to float in the air as well as being able to stand vertically on a wall and run backwards up it.

Supernatural Detection

Alucard has the ability to sense supernatural activity. Back in World War 2, he was able to tell that the Captain was a werewolf from the moment he saw him. In addition, Alucard was able to identify the blessings on Alexander Anderson’s bayonets as well as the holy barrier that prevented his escape.

Hemokinesis

Alucard has the ability to manipulate blood. This ability seems to be limited to blood outside of the body, as he is never seen influencing the blood of enemies while they are intact.

Soul Absorption

By draining a person of their blood, Alucard gains dominance over their souls and forms. He also takes on whatever knowledge they possess, as he was able to find out about the Millennium by draining Tubalcain Alhambra of his blood.

Released States

Being too powerful to be left on his own, Alucard’s power is restricted by the "Control Art Restriction System" and has to be accessed by the "Cromwell Invocation". He has six “release states” which are six levels of power that increase as the number goes down (for instance, he starts at Level 6, with 5 and beyond being more powerful) that he can access via the Cromwell Approval. Alucard at his base power level is easily able to tear most vampires to shreds and regenerate from being ripped apart by bullets, but when facing more powerful opponents, Alucard shows his true power.

Level 1

(“Release restraint to Level 1.”

“Level what?”)

In his level one form, Alucard’s power noticeably skyrockets. Sometimes called "Nosferatu" or "The No-Life King", this form seems to possess the rawest physical power when it comes to fighting hand to hand, having brutally murdered Luke Valentine and Tubalcain Alhambra with it as well as using this form in his fights with Alexander Anderson (when the priest was reinforced with Helena's Nail) and the vampirized Walter. While Alucard seems to prefer fighting with hand-to-hand combat in this form, he still uses firearms. In this form, Alucard also gains access to his Hellhound familiar. In the original Hellsing anime, activating Level 1 created a giant, city-wide sigil.

Level 0

(“When hope is gone, undo this lock. And send me forth on a moonlit walk. Release Restraint Level... ZERO.”)

Alucard’s final release state, Level 0, has the vampire at his most powerful and terrifying form. Throughout his life, Alucard has consumed thousands and thousands of souls. Including the souls he was eating during the Battle of London (including an army of Catholic knights, hundreds of Nazi vampires, and a shit-ton of dead Londoners), the number of souls Alucard has gained is at an ungodly amount of 3,424,867. What truly makes Level 0 so horrific though is that this state allows Alucard to release all his familiars AT ONCE. That’s right, when Al wants something dead, like, really dead, he unleashes Level 0 and puts an army of the undead in front of his enemy.

Familiars

(“Hope you don’t mind, I brought some friends! ...Associates? ...Slaves; I br- I brought slaves.”)

If you thought Level 0 was terrifying, you’ll see more fear when he goes Mega Man on his victims. When Alucard sucks someone’s blood, they don’t just disappear into his maw. Alucard can summon forth anyone he's taking the soul of at will, with their physical bodies appearing from some massive black and red ooze that spouts from Alucard’s body. But he doesn’t just take a person’s soul. He also takes their memories and superpowers as well. Alucard has an entire legion of souls dwelling within him (including the literal armies of Wallachia and the Ottomans) but seems to favor using Baskerville, a gigantic mass of blood and shadow lined with demonic eyes in the form of a hellhound capable of devouring pretty much anything that gets in its way and stores the victim for further use. Luke Valentine is a clear example of that. Whoever he absorbs, their powers are at his disposal. While Seras gives her familiar; Pip Bernadotte some free reign within her own soul, Alucard seems content to completely dominate everything living inside him.

Generally, the familiars are mindless puppets, but they retain enough of their faculties to fight and kill as they did in real life (for instance, Wallachian knights can still ride their undead horses, and Rip can still fire her gun, etc). When Alucard releases them, they rush out of him in an ocean of blood, engulfing anything in their wake and devouring whatever that can’t fight back. The individual familiars are about as strong, fast, and durable as in real life, so individually they’re not much of a threat, being easily blown apart by small amounts of explosives, but opponents will be fighting millions of them at a time. Alucard’s most notable familiars are the following:

Armies of Wallachia and Ottomans

When he was Dracula, he did not waste time starting his body count as a vampire. His wrath was never merciful as he has consumed both armies whether ally or enemy into his body. This was what made professionals like Father Anderson realize why Alucard is so damn hard to kill. As stated in the previous section, the armies of Wallachia and Ottomans are heavily armed and ready to charge into battle with horses, lances, swords, axes, and a whole lot of bodies. And of course, befitting his moniker, these armies of corpses are all too willing to impale anything and everything.

Luke Valentine

Oh hey, Alucard’s diet Dio, complete with the same voice actors, no less!

Jokes aside with the same Dio actors, Luke Valentine was one of the very first A.V. to kill from the Millennium when they sent him and his brother, Jan, to attack Hellsing Headquarters. Luke has shown to be very fast in dodging Alucard at the start of his fight and dodging the Casull at point-blank. He also killed six guards all at once before they could react.

Tubalcain Alhambra

(“You cheeky dick-waffle!”)

Nicknamed the Dandy Man, Alhambra was another artificial vampire that Millennium had sent to fight Alucard. Out of Alucard’s familiars, the Dandy Man has the most unique weapons: magic playing cards. These cards are razor-sharp, capable of cutting through nearly anything (including flesh, stone, and bullets), can explode, and can appear from thin air or other impossibly small hiding places. Tubalcain controls his cards telekinetically, allowing them to freely fly around his body or change trajectory mid-flight to hit a moving target. He can also use his cards to create duplicates of himself and form a shield around himself to block and deflect bullets. These cards are also strong enough to give Alucard a hard time regenerating in his base form and were able to bisect a uranium-tipped anti-tank round.

Rip van Winkle

(Forgot to check her privilege.)

An incredibly skilled and experienced sniper who, despite seeming to wield a regular musket, possesses magical bullets that can be guided to hit and pierce their targets as many times as necessary. Said bullets also have a deceptively high range and speed, able to effortlessly circle around and reach aircrafts capable of flying at altitudes of 85,000 feet and moving at speeds of Mach 3.

Baskerville

Inspired by the black hound from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s novel "The Hound of the Baskervilles", the Baskerville is a large dog with shaggy black fur, multiple red eyes, and a large, fang-filled mouth. It’s Alucard’s favorite familiar to use whenever he enters Level 1, using the black hound against opponents he considers challenging. The Baskerville terrified Luke Valentine before it eventually ripped him apart and devoured him. The black hound is also able to absorb abilities for itself, having gained Luke Valentine’s speed and agility after eating him. To the Baskerville, you’re dog food. And after you get eaten, you’re nothing but dog shit.

Schrödinger

(Oh fucking boy, here we go.)

You have all been waiting for this bastard to be mentioned. For those who are not aware of Schrödinger in the Hellsing series, he is one of Millennium's high-ranking officers who have cat ears for some reason. (Later) He was based on Erwin Schrödinger‘s theory, so that explains the ears. He would end there if not for his special ability: BEING EVERYWHERE AND NOWHERE. This cat boy literally has mental quantum reality, meaning he can go wherever he wants and live forever as long as “he is aware of himself”. He has proven many times proven his powers are ideally “omnipotent”, Schrödinger has been shot in the head twice with no effect of death, teleported across anywhere he pleased, and even can go to other realms like Zorin’s Illusion world (Also shown above). However, he can be forgetful

During Alucard’s feasting of all of London, Schrödinger willingly killed himself and allowed himself to be consumed by Alucard. This resulted in Alucard being erased from existence. However, at the end of the series, Alucard was able to return and mastered Schrödinger’s ability. The downside was he had to destroy all of his lives and familiars in order to become truly one with Schrödinger, but we all can safely say it was fucking worth it for Alucard.

More on Schrödinger and being Omnipresent level after the Summary section.

Weaknesses

Dio

Spoilers in 3..2..1... He’s Hella dead.

By far, Dio’s biggest weakness is his sheer arrogance. He tends to be overconfident, seeing practically everyone beneath him. This can cause him to underestimate his opponents, and toy with them instead of going for the kill.

Ability-wise, as a Vampire, Dio has a weakness in sunlight and comparable energies, vaporizing his body on contact. Because Jonathan’s body rejected him (not in that way), he was unable to use most of his powerful vampire abilities (Vaporisation Freezing and Space Ripper Stingy Eyes). This isn’t the case when he absorbs Joseph’s blood and gains full control, yet this comes with a different weakness; a loss of sanity and even more arrogance. While the Capcom fighting game and Audio CD shows he can use his Ripper Eyes, he doesn’t due to a mix of the two previous factors.

Also, the key to all of Dio’s abilities is within his head, his brain. Unlike the rest of his body, his brain doesn’t have as much leeway in terms of regeneration. It should be noted that a simple stab or punch through the noggin ain’t going to cut it (just ask Polnareff) but rather it needs to be sufficiently exploded or sufficiently scrambled in order to stop all of his regeneration completely.

Alucard

Have you ever heard the phrase, “Your greatest strength is also your greatest weakness”? Well, it applies to Alucard in multiple ways. Firstly, he overly relies on his regeneration. It’s natural for him to do so, considering it’s basically unstoppable as long as he has souls inside of him. This has led him to act like a damaged sponge, giggling his ass off while opponents wail at him. However, his souls can't regenerate him if his body is completely destroyed (atomization), or if his heart is impaled

The most important factor is, despite his huge ego and taste for battle, Alucard is a monster who wishes death. As shown with his final fight with Anderson, the Count wishes for a human to take him down because of the regret of his actions that he did to become the strongest vampire. And in adding Schrödinger it took away close to all of how his trump cards like his level forms and his familiars.

Summary

DIO

"Human ability is extremely limited and finite. Your Hamon training avails you nothing. It's USELESS, USELESS, USELESS, USELESS, USELESS, UUSSSEELLLESSS!! A MERE MONKEY CAN NEVER DEFEAT A LION!!!"

Advantages:

  • Takes the edge in the stat trinity, especially speed

  • Can drink the familiars’ blood to heal himself

  • Alucard has no counter to the Time Stop

  • Jonathan’s Hermit Purple can allow him to gain intel on Alucard’s abilities and weakness

  • Regeneration, despite being inferior, ignores Alucard’s regen negging bullets due to the difference in weaknesses to JoJo’s vampires (elaborated below)

  • Vaporization freezing makes it difficult for Alucard to get up close

  • Flesh Buds could likely hypnotize Alucard

  • Likely smarter

  • Fights much more cautiously

  • Is a gamer

  • The original IT WAS ME (KONO DIO DA!)

  • JJBA The Abridged Series is super underrated, seriously check it out if you have the time

  • Being a JoJo villain, he naturally has the advantage against any and all dogs like Baskerville

Disadvantages:

  • Nowhere near as experienced or skilled

  • Regeneration isn’t as good

  • List of abilities isn’t quite as extensive

  • Against Level 0, is simply outnumbered

  • Alucard could theoretically see and hurt the world thanks to being able to interact with souls

  • Can’t survive in sunlight, meaning that he'll lose if he can't take Alucard out in time

  • The likelihood of him dealing a fatal blow to Alucard is low

  • Has little to no experience fighting vampires

  • Shrimps

  • Is BRI’ISH

Alucard

“Come on, get up! Attack me! You've only suffered the loss of your legs! Summon up your familiars! Transform your body! Heal your severed legs and stand! The evening is still so young. Come on, hurry, hurry, hurry! Pull yourself together - the fun has just begun! Come on! HURRY!

Advantages:

  • Far more experienced & skilled

  • Has a much wider set of abilities overall

  • Far superior regeneration

  • Has numbers advantage through his familiars in Level 0

  • Can actually remain in sunlight, meaning that he could win if he outlasts Dio

  • Could theoretically see and harm The World, due to being able to interact with souls

  • The likelihood of Dio landing a fatal blow is low due the amount of souls he has

  • Has experience fighting vampires…

  • TheCrimsonFuckr, God Tier Name

  • Is a VTuber

Disadvantages:

  • Inferior in all three areas of the stat trinity, especially speed

  • Has no answer to The World’s time stop

  • Regeneration negging bullets are MUDA against Dio

  • Vaporization freezing makes it incredibly difficult for him to get up close

  • Could likely be affected by Flesh Buds

  • Likely not as smart

  • Dio perfectly counters his uncontrolled fighting style

  • ...but Dio is far superior to any vampire he’s fought

  • Has a dog to use against a JoJo villain

  • Is also BRI’ISH

Before We Get to Verdicts

We have quite a few things to get out of the way before the verdicts, as there are several things we need to clarify and repeat, as well as a few inconsistencies to address.

Our Vampires Are Different

As you may remember Castlevania Dracula from back in Season 6, fictional vampires have come a long way from the typical “I want to suck your blood, bleh bleh bleh” stuff from decades ago. And as stated from both sections of the fighter’s ways of vampirism, they are very different from each other since they have contrasting laws that do not fit, therefore, it should be noted that the weaknesses for both vampires are very different ie. Alucard can remain in the sun perfectly fine while Dio gets absolutely obliterated by it, Dio doesn’t have any weaknesses to holy blessing or silver therefore it wouldn’t null his regeneration, Alucard sucks blood from his fangs while Dio can suck blood from pretty much any part of his body that has gross tentacle veins things, etc etc.

Schrödinger’s Omnipresence

Hoo boy. The big one.

As stated before in Schrödinger’s section, the boy has shown many times to be everywhere and nowhere every time he has appeared in using this ability. However, the full power and limits of Schrödinger’s ability sadly remain unknown. What we mean is that besides negating reality consequences like death and teleportation, Schrödinger has never shown being creative with his ability like Dr. Manhattan's level of being anywhere and nowhere. Traveling/Seeing through time and space, making clones, seeing the future and its outcomes, this is what we mean with Schrödinger being questioned with Omnipresence because he nor Alucard had shown what the true powers can achieve. Not to mention, Schrödinger has shown that his presumed omnipresence isn’t completely all-powerful, as we’ve seen him be unable to find something as simple as a handbook that he managed to lose in the first place, gag joke or not. Because of this, we really don’t know the full extent that Schrödinger, and by extension Alucard’s, unique existence can be applied, and unless we get a sequel to Hellsing where it can be explored, we may never get this answer.

Cyber’s Take

What is Schrödinger’s ability?

From https://hellsing.fandom.com/wiki/Schr%C3%B6dinger:

“Schrödinger's name, powers, and possibly cat ears are a reference to the famous quantum physics thought experiment, Schrödinger's cat. The experiment, meant to demonstrate the problem with applying quantum mechanics to problems on a macroscopic scale, presented a scenario in which a cat is inside a box which cannot be seen through from the outside. With it, a vial of poison is placed, that would or would not break. The box is opened at a later time, and due to circumstances inside the box, there is an equal chance of the cat being dead or alive. While logic would dictate the cat was either alive or dead, the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics instead predicts that the cat will be both alive and dead. This is evident in the Hellsing character Schrödinger's powers, which allow him to be everywhere and anywhere, but also nowhere, at the same time.”

The exact nature of Schrödinger's abilities is tied-in directly to the state of his existence. It is confirmed by the Major that Schrödinger only exists for as long as he is aware of himself. He was able to appear in Hellsing's conference room without difficulty, despite the high security of the building at the time. He also appeared inside Zorin Blitz's illusions while Blitz was attempting to attack Seras Victoria's mind, indicating that he can appear in mental realms as well. Schrödinger himself often states that he is "everywhere and nowhere", meaning that if he believes that he exists somewhere, then he will. In essence, his powers can be summed up as 'I think, therefore I am.' This also explains his apparent regeneration/immortality and teleportation abilities. If he thinks he's at a location at any moment, then he will be at that location. Even if Schrödinger is fatally wounded, if he believes that he is alive and unscathed, then he will be. This can be seen when Alucard drinks the blood of Rip Van Winkle. He is sitting on the ship with the hand television, while in the next scene we can see him standing on the right side of the Major. A few seconds later we can see him again sitting on the ship in the same position as he said "Auf Wiedersehen" to Rip.

(From the Hellsing Official Guidebook)

“生きていると同時に死んでいる,  相反する2つの命を持つ "シユレテインガ丨の猫". その名の通り, 彼は自分の認識次第で "どこにでもいるし, どこにもいない" 存在である.”

Living and dead at the same time, "Schrödinger's Cat" with two conflicting lives. As the name suggests, he is "everywhere and nowhere" depending on his perception.

He says "Tubalcain's blood let me know." With the implication being that the blood let him know where the meeting was.

Here, he refers to his powers as going to London and coming back, with another translation saying "traveled" instead of "going" but same difference.

While explaining his powers, the Major states he "jumps" around the world.

“I am everywhere and nowhere”

Per the Guidebook, and what is shown in the manga, Schrödinger's ability is the following:

Incorporeality, Regeneration (Low-Godly, exists as long as he knows he exists, came back from the disappearance of his physical body after taking care of every single Soul he possessed), Teleportation

Incorporeality is from being able to exist inside thoughts, which would require that state of being. as evidenced with Schrodinger being able to enter and exist in Zorin Blitz’ thoughts.

With Low Godly defined as:

Low-Godly: The ability to regenerate from the complete physical destruction of the user's body, instead restoring it from their disembodied consciousness, whether that be their soul, mind, some other nonphysical aspect of themself, esoteric or metaphysical energy, or something else.

Though I don't see it simply as teleportation, given Schrödinger can go inside formless places such as thoughts, and Alucard being able to return after existing as "imaginary numbers". Nor would simple teleportation allow Schrodinger to re manifest himself after his numerous deaths on screen.

I've seen it argued that this means they don't actually exist at all times, but this is disproven in that both Schrodingers’ and Alucards bodies can be wounded and made to bleed. While Schrodinger can exist as a thought, he seems to have to will himself in that state, as with entering Zorin’s thoughts.

A limit shown in the manga that disproves the ability being literal Omnipresence is the fact he lost his guidebook and couldnt find it

I've seen it argued that this is a gag scene. Comedic bits aren’t somehow non-canon just because they are meant to be funny. You can’t just ignore them.

As for Alucard, the issue lies in that this ability cannot be combined with his normal powerset, as he will disappear if he is more than his own soul and Schrodinger.

Level 0 Regeneration

This has been a common misconception within the VS Community. Most were under the impression that going into Level 0 caused Alucard to lose his regeneration in exchange for summoning all of his souls. However, this isn’t the case. After activating Level 0, Alucard fought both Anderson and Walter in his typical style, getting his limbs blown off and regenerating them quickly. There was no indication that he stopped using Level 0, as the souls were all still fighting all over London (with him even using them in his last fight with Anderson).

In short, while Dio could use the Time Stop and attack Alucard in this state, it would have the exact same effect as it would if Dio attacked Alucard normally. However, while Alucard still has regeneration whilst in this state - it should be noted that Alucard’s more broken regeneration is specifically tied to the amount of souls he has meaning that while Alucard can regen from damage whilst in Level 0 - a fatal blow will kill him (which Walter attempted to do). Vampires in Hellsing have regenerated from injuries before and yet still have died once their heart or body was destroyed. However, this also leads into…

What even counts as a fatal blow?

(No, this is not Alucard)

This is something that’s somewhat confusing and inconsistent for Alucard. Despite multiple sources saying that impaling his heart would seal the deal, Alucard’s taken far worse punishment before. Regenerating from a puddle of blood, for example, shows that he doesn’t need his heart to regenerate. He has taken damage to the heart before (getting shot, stabbed, etc.), but never really wavered. Obviously, his regeneration is tied to the amount of souls he has, so it’s fair to assume it applies to the heart as well.

This seems to imply that the impaling weakness doesn’t really have much merit. It seems that it would have to be under extremely certain circumstances for a fatal blow to be dealt. While Walter being an experienced vampire hunter does show some merit to his words, with him having Alucard mostly on the defensive for the fight, it’s still quite confusing.

The general assumption appears to be, however, that the heart weakness only applies when he is in Level 0. His familiars take the fatal blow for him when he’s not in the state. He still has his regeneration in Level 0, but now his heart is exposed as a weak point.

Why Schrödinger and Level 0 can’t coexist

See, with all the deal with Schrödinger, you'd think Alucard would be able to use his abilities for himself after absorbing him in Level 0. But the problem is, Schrödinger worked as a means against him as it was the Major's plan to defeat Alucard at his most powerful, specifically with now being everywhere and nowhere, Alucard could no longer perceive himself within all the lives he's absorbed in Level 0 since he was now everywhere and nowhere, so he basically disappeared into nowhere. Though Alucard actually managed to bring himself back after 30 years by killing most of the lives he's absorbed except Schrodinger's, this was at the cost of losing most of his powers and familiars.

If you want a brief TL;DR, Schrödinger specifically kills Alucard because of his souls that provide his powers, and the two cannot coexist.

Why the World Over Heaven and Jorge Joestar are not being used

Well, the obvious answer we can give is because they didn’t give Star Platinum Over Heaven to Jotaro back in Season 5. Basically, both incarnations are iterations of DIO that are well above and beyond anything the canon DIO has even come close to reaching, with DIO Over Heaven literally becoming a god that can overwrite reality, and Jorge Joestar DIO… well, to sum it up, he was able to do this.

  • Becoming the Ultimate Lifeform aka Kars.

  • Being able to literally split his soul into two so that it basically creates body doubles.

  • Fooled everyone into thinking his body parts were that of Jesus Christ BUT IT WAS HIM, DIO!!!

  • Evolving his stand to the World Ultimate which allows Dio to stop time for an entire hour

  • A stand called the Passion that is later revealed to be a Beyond that allows Dio to talk to   Jesus Christ ..no we aren’t kidding that allows Dio to look into the detailed future of himself and anyone in the Joestar bloodline as well as people he’s drunk the blood of.

  • Literally gaining the power of the Beyond which through the power of believing allows Dio to summon the power of God himself to shift the narrative flow of a story to Dio’s benefit through discussion with Jesus Christ. Yes, we’re not making this shit up.

Both of them are entirely alternate versions of Dio with a changed powerset, it would be like giving MCU Doctor Strange access to the powers of Strange Supreme from Marvel’s What If series. Or Goku Black and Zamasu to make more sense for this reason. All in all - The World Over Heaven and Jorge Joestar’s powersets are too out there for us at the G1DBFB to really consider using it. If we did give him it, it would likely be a one-sided stomp in Dio’s favor since he can literally manipulate the plot of a DEATH BATTLE sooo nooope.  It just wouldn’t work hence why it is off the table in this blog.

Faster Than Light/Massively Faster Than Light JoJo - Is it a thing?

Oh boy, FTL/MFTL JoJo, this is a big sticking point in the debate regarding this matchup and we feel that this is going to take an extra while to explain. Basically we want to tackle the concept of FTL/JoJo - why we think it is legit and what evidence there is from within the scale that only puts Stands as FTL/MFTL, which characters have showcased these feats and explain why Dio scales to them.

Full Credit Goes for Cyber for compiling this (who will definitely be involved with Madara vs Aizen when the blog comes out)

Jotaro

  1. Star Platinum's initial Bio in Part 6 claims Star Platinum is faster than light.

"It surpasses the speed of light by sheer fast speed, at its peak (18 year old) for 5 seconds, it managed to stop time in this world. Additionally, it's coordinative reactions and speed is incredible. It is the ultimate, invincible stand ability."

Which is accurate, you can even make out the kanji for hikari "光", so it's talking about light, not time.

And for some reason, because almost every translation foregoes this, there's a "," between the FTL statement and the Time Stop statement. Which leads into them being separate statements after factoring in linguistics.

  1. Was stated to be able to keep up with the light-speed Red Hot Chili Pepper in his later years

Says he's equal to light.

Says Jotaro can keep up with the speed of light.

Can travel through wires at the speed of light and is completely conscious while doing so, being able to pick and choose where he emerges from even at short distances.

We see that RHCP, while traveling through the wires, is completely conscious and can react and think, in this instance he was going to drop Okuyasu somewhere and fry him, but he was saved, and we see RHCP's initial reaction to that, while still in the wiring, and he's shocked and pissed off.

Despite being completely manual and conscious, he can manage to exit the wiring to attack blindspots, and can choose where to emerge from.

Even assuming he times when to exit where he wants to the moment he enters the wire, it would need to be at least relativistic reactions to time it properly, though he isn't even doing that, he's just doing it casually.

Guides to prove RHCP was light speed in this state:

From JoJo6251:

"In a wire, it can move at a speed equal to the speed of light."

From JOJO A-GO!GO!:

く な る ほ ど 。

“Its speed of movement within electrical wires is equal to the speed of light.”

Mini Q&A

So first up, Okuyasu fought Red Hot Chili Pepper, and ended up getting his hand cut off. Red Hot Chili Pepper grabs onto his body and takes him into the electrical wires after turning him into electricity, and makes his escape.

Josuke uses his ability to regenerate Okuyasu's body back and retrieve it before Red Hot Chili Pepper can escape.

Koichi later states that RHCP can move at the speed of light.

The speed of light is capable of circling around the earth around seven times in a second, and yet Josuke managed to react and regenerate Okuyasu's body back before RHCP could even reach the nearest electrical tower, and this was done casually. Josuke was able to keep talking to Jotaro before even noticing that he could've brought Okuyasu back. That's a pretty solid FTL feat if you ask me.

And Koichi being able to see RHCP shows that he has FTL reactions as well, or at least Relativistic+ reactions (which should still support the FTL JoJo cause considering how common FTL feats are for JoJo). How else would he know that RHCP moves at light speed just by watching it move?

But why would Josuke not be able to keep up with RHCP or track its movements, you ask? Well, do you remember Josuke's fight with Toyohiro inside of Superfly? Toyohiro stated that Josuke can definitely react to and deflect Superfly's energy bullets, but since he doesn't know where it's going to attack from, it makes it that much harder to play around. That's exactly what's happening in Josuke's fight with RHCP; RHCP is moving around underground and attacking Josuke from different angles, and Josuke doesn't know where it's going to come from. Thus, he had to create a tar pit trap to prevent RHCP from doing that.

Also, Josuke stating that Crazy Diamond punches at 300km/h is another thing that's blatantly contradicted, even ignoring that he stated himself that he never actually measured it and that the 300km/h is just an estimate.

Josuke admits in the same scene that he has never actually measured the speed, meaning he most likely pulled that number out of thin air and is completely wrong about Crazy Diamond's speed.

So Josuke, RHCP, and Koichi all have feats that support the FTL JoJo cause. Okuyasu might have one too, as he was able to hold his own against RHCP as well.

You could argue Koichi's statement is talking about the time stop, as in Jotaro can keep up with RHCP because he can stop time and pull him out.

Raws point more towards speed. Josuke and Crazy Diamond actively keeping up with it, even briefly, makes the distinction unimportant.

It should also be noted that Jotaro was able to defeat an Anubis-enhanced Polnareff, who has his own FTL - MTFL feats (elaborated below) and that Anubis makes Silver Chariot faster and stronger.

Polnareff

  1. Hanged Man

Pol was able to tag the hanged man, who is light speed.

Note, Chariot swings after Hanged Man starts moving.

Meaning he could swing his blade and tag light before it crossed a few feet to pass him and where he struck it.

Silver Chariot intercepting Hanged Man which is stated to move at the speed of light

Silver Chariot yet again intercepting Hanged Man in a ridiculous timeframe (Before HM can go into the coin)

Proof for Hanged man being light speed:

If it just understands their path, even cutting an enemy moving at the speed of light is a simple task.

Q&A

Borrowed from (1) JoJo's Bizarre Adventures: Speed CRT (Part 2 to 6) | VS Battles Wiki Forum

  • Hanged man jumps from location to location in straight lines

  • If someone reads the path of movement of the Hanged Man, hitting it is possible

  • however, in order to hit something moving at the speed of light, considerable speed is necessary

Refer to this doc for counter to “Pol says he is slower than light speed”

Polnareff VS Hanged Man

Q: Pol had trouble with Hanged Man, so Chariot can't scale.

A: False, exceptionally so, when has the user being slower than the Stand ever affected how fast the Stand was? It doesn't and wouldn't, because it happens all the time, take, well, almost any of them, the Stands are all almost always faster then the user to degrees. Chariot is such a case, he's faster than Pol, plain and simple, and not by only a bit, he could run circles around Pol. For example, take Echoes Act 3, it's a Stand, but it's so much faster than his user that he can't even properly perceive his own Stand move. Meaning? However fast Pol is would have zero effect on how fast something like Chariot's attacks and slashes are, they're completely disconnected, especially in the case of Pol who doesn't have dual senses.

Q: If Pol couldn't see Hanged Man, then neither could Chariot.

A: You'd be correct, but not in the way you think. Chariot is effectively blind, he can't see without Pol's guidance, this is explained in the Devil arc, Chariot can't attack what Pol can't see, he has the speed and the power to, but if he isn't "guided" per say, he can't, and it's something actually kinda exclusive to Chariot for the most part which other Stands wouldn't have. Why is Chariot like this? We do not know, it's presumed because of the armor, but it is what it is. But does this mean Chariot isn't fast? No, he's still ludicrously fast, it's just he needs to know where to attack first, put simply, it's like aiming a gun and Chariot is the bullet, Pol aims the gun and fires, and the super fast bullet comes out and attacks where he aimed because the bullet is actually a blindman and can only swing widely without command. Furthermore, this isn't something that's completely disconnected from the Hanged Man arc, Chariot's flaw in that, despite being fast, he can't use that speed if he doesn't know where to aim due to being blind, is set up in the prior Chariot arc, ie, the last time we see it before Hanged Man, not only that but it's the SAME VOLUME as when Hanged Man arc's start. Aka, it's established not long before Hanged Man that Chariot has such an innate flaw. So yes, Chariot couldn't see Hanged Man, not because he isn't fast enough to completely blow him out of the water, but because he needs guidance, more so then say something like Star Platinum, because he can't attack due to being blind for the most part, but he can still swing his sword at ludicrously fast speeds once he knows where to, which is coincidentally, though likely not a coincidence, exactly what happened in Hanged Man.

Meaning, Chariot is a ludicrously fast blind man who needs to be told where to attack by a slower dude but when he does, he's attacking and he's attacking fast. As odd as that sounds, that's exactly what it is, it be like it is, and the funny thing is, that's 100% intentional.

Q: Chariot attacked before Hanged Man began moving, so he doesn't scale.

A: False, both times even, Chariot swings after Hanged Man moves. Yet not only that, in the main one, Chariot isn't even in position, we know this because Chariot is demonstrably and quantifiably not there, we can angsize the distance the coin and the beam is from the POV, and then again in the panel where Chariot is, put simply, not only do we not see Chariot in the panel, but he quite literally can't be there yet because we'd see him, in fact we'd see his back still in both, just like, a few cm zoomed in.

Q: Chariot swung ahead of time.

A: He didn't, not only was he not even there, but we see his blade's arch, a, at minimum, 90 degree cut, and it strikes Hanged Man in full before he reaches the coin, meaning Chariot gets it off in full.

Q: This wouldn't scale to anyone else.

A: Multiple characters react to Chariot's slashes, well, less characters and more Stands, Star Platinum even rivals a speed boosted one mid part and Cream can react to a speed boosted one as well. For all of Chariot's shortcomings, his slashes and attack speed is demonstrably of this caliber and scales accordingly.

Q: It's an outlier for Chariot.

A: Why would it be? We know why he had trouble, and, at least for Chariot, it wasn't a speed issue. Not only that, he's almost Star Platinum tier in speed, who is explicitly above lightspeed Stands in raw speed even without time stop (Above Hanged Man and RHCP in speed disregarding time stop, and not by just a bit either), so Chariot is already scaling to a character who's above the very Stand he "allegedly" can't keep up with, but to further that, Chariot later on in Part 3 manages to deflect 4 light rays simultaneously, proving plain as day, that in regards to sheer speed, Chariot is above Hanged Man, as he effectively deflected 4 at once. Is the Hanged Man feat's number higher than other feats? Yeah, sure, but being the highest feat doesn't instantly invalidate it when the only arguments against it forgo a bunch of information and context and the main argument of Chariot not being able to do that normally is demonstrably bullshit as we see him do it again later on.

Q: Star Platinum shit.

A: Chariot isn't far off of Star Platinum (at least mid), a Stand who is explicitly faster than light in his older days and out of his prime, but also explicitly above Hanged Man and RHCP in raw speed, and by quite a bit. Chariot isn't a huge bit off of Star Platinum in his prime, who's FTL as fuck through statements and upscaling off his older self who's FTL via multiple statement, meaning, Chariot would be FTL even without having actual feats to back it up, the fact he does is just exceptionally nice.

It should also be noted that Jotaro wasn’t holding back against Anubis-enhanced Polnareff or he would’ve gotten pummeled.

Q: The story takes priority over the calcs and the story says Chariot isn't FTL.

A: The story also has Chariot tagging him twice, blatantly blitzing him the second time around in the same volume that a critical flaw of Chariot is established that explains away the whole issue here. It's also the story that Chariot is fast and while not as fast, can compete with Star Platinum, a Stand that even outside his peak, is faster than light and is explicitly faster than Hanged Man in and of itself. It's fair to say that narratively, Pol himself isn't lightspeed, but to say story wise Chariot isn't? Well that's just untrue. And even if it was the case, Chariot demonstrably proves the story false, 6 times with his feats alone, let alone scaling to characters that also prove the notion false. Feats > story induced limitations, especially if said feats happen in abundance. This would unironically be like scaling everyone below SOL in DBZ due to Dyspo needing a special mode to hit lightspeed, obviously the story implies that Dyspo is SOL/FTL in that mode and everyone is below it bar a few, but they also have numerous rel+, ftl, and MFTL feats that disprove the notion, the same applies here. Though I want to preface this with, the story doesn't even say Chariot is below lightspeed, just that Pol is (Though even he has 3 feats of his own that suggest at least a degree of relativity if not sol/ftl perception).

Q: Chariot was intended to be slower than light.

A: False, and a huge example of cherry picking. The story also has Chariot very blatantly outspeed the Hanged Man, borderline blitzing him, if we're to talk of intent, it's pretty clear that it was intended for Chariot to have outsped the Hanged Man, given that's blatantly what happens, to such a blatant degree that there's absolutely no way Araki didn't realize what he was doing. Not only that, Chariot tags Hanged Man twice after he begins moving. Not only that, we later see Chariot deflect what is essentially four Hanged Man simultaneously, which is obviously something that was intended. To further that, within the same volume, the story establishes Chariot, despite his overwhelming speed, can't strike what Pol himself can't see because of dual senses issues, that's obviously an intended and story-related quirk established right prior. It's also obviously intended that Chariot scales to, at least to a degree, to Stands like Star Platinum, who's FTL even outside his peak. I could go on, if one wants to use the excuse of "well it obviously was intended for Chariot to be slower" or "the story says otherwise'', it goes both ways, except I'd bet that isn't even inherently the case, every single "reason" for why Chariot would be slower, is explained away in the very same volume and further that, it's established later on Chariot can easily deflect light beams. It's fair to say Polnareff is intended to be slower than Hanged Man, but it's not fair to say Chariot is intended to be, I'd even go far enough to say the exact opposite is intended, given Chariot no shit fucks with 6 different laser beams through Part 3 as well as his speed being up to par with a Stand blatantly above the very same Stand that Chariot is allegedly slower than.

Guide Book Reaffirmation

Jojo-A-Gogo:

JoJo6251:

If you don't buy Silver Chariot tagging the Hanged Man as proof of it being light speed or above, the guidebooks consistently note that you still need “considerable” speed to tag it via following the trajectory.

JOJO A-GO!GO! further notes it's easy for Chariot to tag it, and we know from Hanged Man’s profile above this has to do with speed. At the very Minimum, Silver Chariot downscales from the hanged man’s speed, putting it somewhere at Relativistic.

  1. Deflects multiple of The Sun's Light-Ray Energy simultaneously.

Guides to prove the sun’s rays are light speed:

"Light-Ray Energy"

"A laser-like attack can be launched from the photosphere in all directions. In addition to penetrating power, it is also possible to aim at the target with very fine shooting if the main body is nearby".

Stated to be light-ray energy (Kanji used for Light is used), stated to be laser-like (and it follows how a laser would behave as well), stated to come from the photosphere, the part of the sun's surface that emits heat and light.

"Carefully chase Jotaro and others so that they do not realize there's a fake sun.

As soon as the trail is noticed, the temperature rises sharply, and the offensive begins.

In addition, he attacks Jotaro and the others with precision shooting with light-ray energy, up to this point it was advantageous. When the trick of the main body being covered by a desert landscape with a mirror was revealed, it was KO'd by Star Platinum with a single blow".

Again, it’s stated to attack with light-rays.

"The Photosphere floating above Hierophant Green is so high that Hierophant's tentacles can't reach it even if the tentacles are extended by about 100m".

Nothing much, just another mention of the photosphere.

Even in the original Japanese manga, it's directly referenced as a beam of light, using the Hikari kanji and then compared to a laser beam.

"Kakyoin! It's the energy of a ray of light! Like a laser!"

Another mention of it saying;

"夜になってることが分からなかった。さらに、レーザーのような光線エネルギーを放つ技を持ち、この光線と熱で相手を追いつめていくのた。"

"Furthermore, it has the ability to emit light energy like a laser, and catches the opponent with this light and heat."

"He is good at attacking with heat and light rays, and has high attack power and sustainability. The Stand is over 100m above the ground and has a long range, but the main body must approach the opponent to generate power."

Stated to be light-rays (Kanji for light is used).

"Accurate Light-Ray Attack"

(Black header next to Hierophant Green).

Stated to be light-rays again (Kanji for light is used).

"A technique that shoots innumerable light energy rays like a laser. The rays of light appear to be shooting at random, but they accurately capture and aim at the opponent"

(Paragraph next to black header and right below HG).

It’s stated to be able to shoot light (same kanji) like a laser. Goes on to call it rays of light, reiterating it's light, again.

"In addition, it has the ability to emit light-rays like a laser, and uses this heat and light to chase down the opponent. In the middle of the desert where there is no place to hide, Jotaro and others suffer from heat and light-ray attacks, but the main trick of the mirror that the main body was hiding behind is found out and is defeated by Jotaro".

(The first large paragraph).

Stated to be able to emit light-rays like a laser (for the severalth time) and that it uses light to chase down foes. Goes on to state Jotaro was attacked by light (same kanji as all the other times) attacks.

"Jotaro Kujo and others are attacked while crossing the Arabian Peninsula. A Stand like the sun, it tried to steam Jotaro and his friends by emitting tremendous heat from the sky. It has enough power to illuminate the surroundings like it was daytime even at night, and can raise the temperature to 70 degrees celcius. Its power is power and Jotaro and his friends race against the clock".

(The second large paragraph).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Needless to say, this one scan states that the Sun uses light and light-rays to attack in a fashion akin to laserbeams literally seven times.

The scan above even clarifies it comes from a photosphere and is light, twice over.

Stated to be light 11 times, using the proper kanji and compared to laser beams like 5 times, 6 if you count Joseph in the manga.

11 times it's stated to be light-rays and 6 times it's likened to a laser beam and two times it's stated to be from a photosphere, which is where heat and light emits from a star.

It's self evident that The Sun uses laser beams made of light to attack, it couldn't be stated any further.

The Sun's lasers are lightspeed. We know this for a multItude of reasons.

  1. They come from a literal miniature sun. Specifically stated to come from the photosphere of it.

  2. They move in a straight line. They do not curve or anything akin to that.

  3. The beams don't explode, they burn and melt just like an actual laser-beam, they're explicitly stated to be light and heat-based.

  4. They bounce off and reflect off shiny surfaces like Chariot's blade, they also bounce off in a straight line and not in a curve.

  5. They were stated to be lasers by Joseph, who most certainly knows what an actual laser-beam is, given he had to deal with them several times in his youth.

  6. Stated by multiple guides, these beams are light-rays. The official name for these beams is called "Light-Ray Energy". Ergo, they're light-based lasers that are fired from a photosphere of a literal miniature star.

Here's two guide scans. The smaller one is where it's called Light-Ray Energy and specifies what they are. The other one is idk, forget where the relevant info is exactly so there's the whole thing. But the whole photosphere and heat and light based attack statement is somewhere in there.

As you can see, they not only qualify for everything needed to be considered light, but they are even officially called light rays and light beams in all guides available.

As for the feat. Polnareff noticed the lasers coming long before they were even in view (at least lightspeed reaction, also probably an enhanced senses feat but that's something else entirely). Every other character as well manages to react to them in some manner (Joseph covers Kakyoin for example).

The big feat is Chariot deflecting several lasers all coming from in a shotgun like motion and managing to deflect every single one despite the distance between said lasers being miniscule. Again, aim-dodging or striking isn't possible here, he deflects one beam then goes to deflect the next beam in succession when all beams are extremely close together.

Kars

Kars reacting to and blocking a beam of light from point blank range.

Kars was also able to put up his hands in an attempt to block Stroheim's UV rays, and at point blank range. Although his hands and face were pierced, he was still able to put his hands up before the beam of light hit, since the beam of light pierced a clean hole straight through his hand.

This is a legitimate beam of light because it's stated to be UV rays, and comes from a scientific and realistic source of light.

Also, in that scan, the beam was right up in front of his face, and in the next panel it pierced his hands. This shows that he put up his hands in an attempt to defend himself from the laser in a ridiculous timeframe, all when the light was just a few inches away from his face. This happened in the manga, which takes precedence over the anime in canonicity, so Kars already having his hand up before the laser was fired in the anime is irrelevant.

Also, could vanish in a flash of light before the light itself scattered and dissipated, despite him being the source of said light.

Note, the light comes from his blade, and yet, as seen in the upper left panel, he's already vanished, while the light itself is still there, despite said light coming from him.

As in, the light had yet to dissipate and scatter while Kars himself was already gone, and as the light had no continuous source, as the source, Kars, vanished, well it speaks for itself.

Mini Q&A

If Kars is light speed, why couldn't he catch up to a plane?

Kar’s flight speed is just travel speed. It is consistent with Jojo as a whole for the character's travel speed to not be anywhere near their reactions.

To quote Thanatos here:

To clarify, my exact claim here is that Kars can move his body parts at speeds fast enough to deflect a UV beam at close range, but that this does not translate into movement speed over a distance.

This is something that doesn't really make sense according to real life mechanics, sure, but... it's kind of a pill you have to swallow, unless you're going to argue that, say, Joseph can't deflect a bullet.

Joseph deflects bullets ejected from Santana's body, before any of his training, and can move his arms fast enough to throw objects that can intercept said bullets. Despite this, in a life or death match against Wham, after long torturous training, Joseph doesn't just disregard the horse that they give him to immediately catch up to Wham and hit him with a ripple, he stays on the horse and views it as an effective way of continuing the battle.

If Kars is Light Speed, why did bullets tag him?

Kars has never needed to dodge something in his entire life. When your regenerative factor is so high that every wound instantly heals, you tend to not care if something hits you. When he noticed that the machine gun was tearing him apart he started blocking them.

Kars was also distracted by Joseph both times. He was monologuing to Joseph about escaping, then the hand hit him. Then Joseph plays mind tricks on him and in that instant the rocks hit him.

Whether he’s faster than light or not doesn’t matter, the narrator flat out says he could have dodged them if he wanted to, but missed the opportunity. That in no way shoots down the FTL argument though.

Joseph

Reacting to a beam of light fired from the Red Stone of Aja despite being taken by surprise:

http://jojo.wikia.com/wiki/Red_Stone_of_Aja

"The stone is said to be able to absorb light and refract it a million times which it then emits as a laser-like beam, and in conjunction with the Stone Mask, would enable Pillar Men to unlock their full potential, removing all weaknesses, including the inability to withstand sunlight."

Joseph and Caesar dodged a laser that was fired from the Red Stone of Aja. These lasers are beams of light after they've been refracted who-knows-how-many times. So yes, this is a legit FTL feat, and since it practically happened at point-blank range, it's likely even higher than that.

It is a legitimate beam of light, since... it's light itself, reflected and refracted countless times within the stone, and then manifested in the form of an energy beam.

Mini Q&A

Doesn't the beam explode?

A beam of magnified sunlight. The Red Stone specifically fires out a super highly powered laser, which could cause an explosion.

You could also argue here they're just reacting to the explosion and not the beam

Caesar looks like he's following the end of the laser with his eyes. They have already reacted to it as it’s coming down. It is far more likely they dodged the beam, rather than the explosion.

Conclusion

So in conclusion, we at the G1DBFB think it’s fairly safe to conclude that not only is Faster than Light/Massively Faster Than Light JoJo a thing but it can be scaled to Dio Brando has Dio has fought Joseph, Polnareff and Jotaro who have all displayed faster than light feats, have been stated to be faster than light or have reacted to beams that are faster than light. Even with Kars, who Dio has never fought before, you could make an argument due to the fact that Joseph was able to keep up with him and the rest of the Pillar Men. So all in all FTL/MFTL JoJo is eligible to be used based on the research that has been conducted.

Essentially JoJo has:

  • In-universe claims of a character moving at light speed, also stated in guides as well. (The Hanged Man) + Statements in guidebooks saying that one has to be "considerably fast" in order to cut an object moving at the speed of light

  • Another in-universe claim of a character moving at lightspeed, also stated in guides (and a statement by another character that a third party could deal with that speed) (Red Hot Chilli Peppers)

  • A stat page appended to an official chapter calling a character faster than light (Star Platinum being called faster than the speed of light on his stats page in Part 6)

  • 3 supporting feats: Chariot blocking light from The sun (in the guidebooks there's indication the sun has an actual photosphere and is firing photons), Kars reacting to light, Joseph evading light from the Red Stone

Verdicts

Vamptom Blood (VampyreNVRmore)

(“Let the storm blow! Let the flames roar! Explosion magic is the stuff of dreams! It is the ultimate magic that turns the impossible possible! Explosion!”)

Somebody get ready to die. These vampires are getting ready to kill. Everyone better get ready to run ‘cause here they come. Party, party, party, these vampires wanna have a party. They need to have a party, so Death Battle better have a party. We all gotta party hardy. These vampires are gonna have a party, or else we will be sorry. It’s a sweet, sweet party, cause they’re going to make this party started.

With that out of the way, let’s meet our two combatants. First up is DIO, and yes, the letters in his name are all capitalized because this petty Brit has the arrogance to only go by God as his name. That itself is a coincidence because he has the same voice actor as a certain blonde little wannabe demigod bitch. His opponent is the fuckmothering vampire Alucard, someone who likes to go for a walk that leaves behind a trail of blood and an unholy amount of bodies.

In this upcoming Death Battle, we have a tale. A tale of a human who rejected his humanity and embraces being a monster against a monster who values humanity and hates his own existence. In a narrative story, Alucard would win, but in Death Battle, it’s going to be the complete opposite. Sure, Alucard appears to be overpowered thanks to his healing factor and having a German boy/girl bugging him from the inside, but DIO has everything he needs to put down the No Life King.

Let’s get stats out of the way. DIO has all the trinity. First off, even as a head, DIO survived a ship’s explosion, which got calced over 60 tons of TNT. That’s higher than any of the Hellsing feats Alucard could scale to, including the Zeppelin feat. However, that’s just a low end for DIO. His Stand, The World, is stronger than some Stands that were capable of greater feats. A weaker Stand, Stone Free, was able to punch meteorites out of the sky, which got over 137 tons of TNT. However, speed is the most important factor as it’s the biggest stat gap between DIO and Alucard.

The reason why speed is the most important factor is because in order to hit your opponent, you need to be fast enough to reach them. As a result, this is the biggest problem for Alucard that’s preventing him from winning. The Crimson Fucker’s best speed feat was catching one of Rip Van Winkle’s magic bullets with his mouth, and these bullets were able to shoot down the Blackbird capable of flying at Mach 3. Alucard’s feat of catching one of those bullets was calculated to be Mach 38, which is hypersonic. As for DIO, both he and The World are relativistic/lightspeed at minimum due to being superior to Stand users and their Stands performing feats that are lightspeed or higher.

Mach 38 is 12,589.4 meters per second. Meanwhile, the speed of light is 299,792,458 meters per second. DIO is faster than Joseph Joestar, who at his prime has a reaction feat of 2.324 times the speed of light. This translates to 696,717,672.4 meters per second, which is nearly 55,342 times faster than Alucard’s best speed feat. This means that DIO doesn’t even need the power of The World to dodge or hit Alucard. The reason why I’m emphasizing this specific stat is because I’ve seen people, especially casual fans, disregard the speed advantage for DIO and lightspeed feats for JoJo in general.

The other people who worked on this blog have already explained the legitimacy of the lightspeed feats in JoJo. Therefore, I’m going to briefly explain the importance of the speed advantage for DIO. As I mentioned before, DIO is more than fifty-five thousand times faster than Alucard, The Crimson Fucker will be a literal statue to him, so there’s no way he can land a killing blow. In addition, Alucard won’t have any chance to use any of his abilities. DIO has all the time in the world (no puns intended for once). I say this because there are two things people argue that will help Alucard win: his regeneration and omnipresence from Schrodinger.

Here’s the thing. While Alucard has a more impressive regenerative ability, it’ll only delay the inevitable. Plus, it’s not going to help Alucard land a killing blow on Alucard. As for the so-called omnipresence, Schrodinger’s powers can’t coexist with Alucard’s other abilities. Recall that The Major defeated Alucard by having Schrodinger be absorbed along with the other souls of London. Alucard ceased to exist because he couldn’t recognize himself. Therefore, you can’t have both sets of powers for Alucard. You’ll have to choose one or the other. And even then, DIO has ways to deal with both.

Overall, DIO VS Alucard was one of my most wanted to see, and I’m glad to see it finally come to fruition. It was fun working on this blog. Between these two combatants, Alucard has always been my favorite. However, DIO has the stats and hax needed to claim this victory. In the end, Alucard simply ran out of time. Now then, I’m off to go on an enthusiastic walk.

How DIO VS Alucard will end:

Battle Timedency (Time)

(Hoping the track references this. Lowkey best song from JoJo.)

At long last, the legendary DIO VS Alucard finally approaches us as a real, genuine Death Battle. For those who may not know me well, I have been wanting this fight for a very, very long time. From the moment I watched the first episode of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and instantly fell in love with the series back in that fateful Spring of 2017, this matchup has rested atop my most wanted list. My love for this match only grew as I watched Hellsing Ultimate, as I got to witness how fantastic Alucard truly is and just how wonderful his interactions with DIO could be. Here we Stand, over four years later, and it finally happening just around the corner feels so surreal.

I could try to write paragraphs elaborating on how much I love this match and everything about it. I could try to describe all the ways they could interact to make such a fun clash of powers and personalities. I could try to explain how engaging I find this debate to be, but ultimately words could never truly describe just how hyped I really am. I want to thank the G1 blog for having me on for this match, and even more so for letting me be among the lucky few who get to speak about this fight in this verdict section. If this is the last G1 blog I ever do, I’d be content with that. It’s been a great couple weeks with you lot.

But enough about me gushing over this matchup. We’re here to talk about who is commiting murder in the upcoming episode. So strap in, everyone, it’s time for a thorough analysis.

Stats Breakdown

As always, the best place to start is to set the numbers straight. I would go into detail about speed, but Cyber did an excellent job above explaining exactly how fast DIO should be. To summarize, Star Platinum, which is almost exactly equal to The World, has multiple statements of being faster than light and upscales from Silver Chariot, who has multiple light feats against Hanged Man and the Sun. Even being more conservative with these feats should consistently yield at least FTL speeds for The World and reactions for DIO. Even without that, they should at least outspeed Stone Free, given Star Platinum’s claims as the greatest Stand even past his prime, who can react to and deflect Mach 628 meteors from Planet Waves. This is pretty blatantly superior to Alucard’s best speed feat in Hellsing Ultimate:

Biting the bullet.

We have calculated Rip van Winkle’s musket ball to be traveling around Mach 38 when approaching Alucard’s Christmas list. An impressive number, to be sure, and Alucard bites it casually, but a hypersonic bullet is still a far cry from light speed, which is Mach 874,030. Even just scaling DIO to Jolyne reacting to Planet Waves’ meteors would still lead to DIO being over 16 times faster than Alucard, and the actual speed gap is likely much wider.

In terms of raw strength and durability, the two are significantly more comparable. DIO on his own has managed to split clouds with his pressurized fluid eye lasers (truly his most vampiric of abilities) and tank a boat exploding in his decapitated face, which got to 32.5 and 30-64 tons of TNT respectively.

Now I have heard some counterarguments to Dio surviving the boat explosion, as Stardust Crusaders shows him safely tucked away in his coffin when being fished out of the ocean, the same coffin which Erina used to escape the very same explosion. This has led some to argue Dio taking the brunt of the explosion must have been retconned. However, the strength of the explosion aligns with other strength feats in the series DIO would scale to, such as Star Platinum sucking up the giant fog Stand, Justice (24 tons), or the aforementioned feat of Stone Free deflecting meteors (137 tons). Plus, for the events to have unfolded as imagined in the retcon, Dio would have to have Jonathan die in front of him, then quickly use his severed head to drag Jonathan’s massive, chiseled corpse and jump into the secret compartment of his coffin both before the explosion hit them and without Erina noticing. It is honestly likelier he took the brunt of the explosion, as he is clearly shown to do on panel, and then dragged Jonathan’s body to the coffin afterwards. This situation is still a bit hilarious to imagine, but it’s at least more plausible timing wise.

As for Alucard, being the god tier and main character of his series means he scales to pretty much everything and has many of Hellsing’s best feats. Al himself has telekinetically dragged the blood of over 3 million bodies across London, generated a massive fog cloud while telekinetically dragging a boat to London, and even survived his own boat explosion after he rammed the Blackbird into an aircraft carrier. All of these yield similar results (17 tons, 16 tons, and 12-26 tons respectively). While some argue he may have regenerated from the boat explosion rather than tank it, we only see him be perfectly intact afterwards, and the feat is nowhere outside the realm of other feats in Hellsing, so him tanking it outright is plausible. These numbers also align with feats Al can easily compare to, like Anderson generating a massive holy flame from bayonets (15.7 tons) and Walter, who can cut through buildings with ease (13 tons). Lastly, Seras took a shot at a Millennium blimp, causing it to crash. Zorin and the fodder Nazi vampires inside, however, came out just fine, even after the blimp went through quite the impressive explosion:

When calculated, the number for this explosion came out to an impressive 47 tons, significantly higher than any other feat seen from Hellsing thus far. However, this feat is dubious, as we never see for certain whether Zorin and the vampires take the brunt of the explosion, or jump out beforehand. Still, it exists as a nice high-end Alucard could easily scale to if taken with a bit of leeway.

Ultimately, the numbers show a consistent trend. Both vampires have and scale to several City Block feats in the tens of tons range, with DIO consistently being a bit stronger and tougher, but not by any huge margin. Especially since one can argue that Stand users downscale from their Stands, DIO capping at 60 tons and The World at ≈130 tons would be reasonable, especially since Stone Free damaged its arms by deflecting those meteors, indicating that it is close to the Stand’s maximum possible strength. All of this means, while Alucard is consistently a bit weaker, he can likely still wound DIO with his attacks.

Addressing the Questions

That’s enough with the numbers, though. The real meat of this debate lies in its plethora of interesting abilities to dissect and how their interactions shape the fight. Normally in this section I would roughly go over a couple of abilities from each to give a general sense of who has the better skillset, but because this fight is a special occasion, I will instead cover these abilities through a series of questions commonly asked concerning this fight.

Can DIO kill Alucard?

As discussed above, Alucard’s regeneration works by effectively using his pool of familiars as a set of extra lives. Any time he takes damage beyond what he would normally be able to repair, one of his familiars sacrifices itself so Alucard can revive unharmed. We know this because Anderson, a seasoned vampire slayer, hypothesizes their souls are tied to Alucard’s immortality; Alucard himself implies they give him “thousands upon thousands” of lives. This is such a prominent part of Hellsing that the Major’s entire plan was to fully drain Alucard of familiars so he could kill him as one last glorious battle, a fact he outright mentions to Integra. This means that, while Alucard can heal from almost any wound, there is a limit to how much punishment he can take.

In particular, Level 0 leaves him quite vulnerable, as every familiar leaves his body to act as a summoned army. Anderson postulates this, likening Alucard to a castle with all its soldiers sent out to the field. Al can still regenerate in this state, but a fatal attack would kill him outright. Particularly targeting his heart, as mentioned by Walter in their final battle, would end the Bird of Hermes. As such, DIO definitely has the capacity to kill Alucard, albeit it is no easy task, as he must either do so 3,424,867 times, or force Alucard to summon and then fight through an army of the same size.

Can Alucard kill DIO?

An often overlooked, but equally important question, is whether Alucard can even strike down DIO. First, let’s discuss the exact limits of his regeneration as well.

Vampires in JoJo can heal from many injuries, but a consistent limitation across every notable vampire we’ve seen seems to be an inability to regrow large amounts of new tissue. In Part 3, we see DIO have to reattach his leg after it is severed, but this is even consistent at his vampiric prime, as after Jonathan cut off Dio’s arm and bisected him with Luck & Pluck (note JoJo is not using Hamon through the blade here, as Dio would be disintegrating on contact if he were), Dio had to manually reattach his arm and recombine his halves. The reason Dio needed Jonathan’s body in the first place is because he remained as merely a head even a year after his self decapitation. Even the most impressive regen feat for a JoJo vampire, Straizo pulling himself back together from being blasted apart, required him to reconnect existing limbs rather than regrow new ones.

All of this is important, as it leads to the question: “What amount of DIO needs to be destroyed before he is effectively dead?” Thankfully, DIO dies, and does so against someone who never wielded sunlight against him:

Above, DIO’s body is shown going limp after his head explodes, when he could live as just a head in Phantom Blood. This is also supported by DIO himself, who directly says Polnareff almost destroyed his brain as though that would be problematic to him when Silver Chariot stabbed his head. As such, DIO’s regen likely works as follows: he can heal from any wound rather quickly as long as his brain is largely intact and he has the capacity to reconnect substantial missing parts. Alucard can likely destroy DIO’s brain with a lucky bullet from Jackal or Baskerville chewing up Brando’s skull thoroughly, as the strength gap between them is not wide enough for DIO to be invulnerable to such attacks, meaning Alucard should in fact have the capability of winning as well.

Can Alucard outlast DIO?

DIO and Alucard have the capacity to kill each other, but neither can do so easily. DIO has to land over 3 million fatal hits on Alucard, or land one after fighting through an army that size. Alucard has to utterly annihilate the brain of someone who is leagues faster than him and has the ability to stop time repeatedly to avoid or repair from attacks. However, one truth remains: DIO vaporizes in the Sun, while Alucard does not. This raises the natural question of if Alucard could play a defensive game and try to wait for morning.

There are many reasons why this is unreliable. It’s questionable if Alucard’s 3 million lives are even enough for someone as fast as DIO, DIO has options to get under cover from the Sun to wait out the day, the specific timing and location of the fight are far too important and variable for this tactic to be a reliable win con, etc. Others cover these arguments in great detail in their verdicts. I want to focus on another: Alucard’s character, and why he wouldn’t even want to try this tactic in the first place.

Alucard has shown a good few times to love the thrill of a fight. This is best shown with his battle against Luke Valentine (who, coincidentally, is also an eccentric blond vampire voiced by both Takehito Koyasu and Patrick Seitz). During their fight, Alucard is very confident in his immortality, and Luke postulates Al lets himself get hit because he doesn’t care enough to dodge. When he unleashes Level 1, he shows clear eagerness at the idea of having an unrestrained vampire battle and very obvious disappointment when he realizes Luke is no match. Time and time again, Alucard seems very eager to fight Anderson, who has shown himself to be Alucard’s equal in combat. He is also always excited by the prospect of engaging in carnage, like the Major’s declaration of war or the idea of massacring Integra’s foes. In the original Hellsing anime, he literally says, “At last I’ve found a suitable creature to battle.” It seems as if Alucard views his Level restrictions as a form of restraint that prevent him from truly relishing in the exciting combat he wishes to revel in. Why would Alucard, who is so excited by the prospect of unleashing himself, fall back and play defensively against a foe who would bring him more challenge and excitement than anyone he’s ever faced in Hellsing?

Addressing Smaller Questions

Although those three cover the major topics of this debate, many smaller questions have been asked about how their abilities play together. I will briefly cover a few here.

Can Alucard(‘s familiars) see or hit Stands?

The idea behind this is a simple one. As Alucard can seemingly identify supernatural creatures at a glance and has an army of familiars which manifest after Alucard literally drains their souls, so perhaps they can interact with the spiritual nature of Stands. While these are true, it is unlikely Al or any of his familiars can interact with Stands. Al himself has never had to deal with anything akin to the incorporeal nature of Stands, so he has never shown any specific sense that would be able to detect one. While the familiars exist by draining souls, otherwise they act how they did in life, being fully corporeal and even pretty easy to slay.

What about mind control?

Both DIO and Alucard have shown the ability to dominate minds with mere eye contact, with the former also having flesh buds that establish permanent mental dominance once planted on the forehead. However, Al has never used this ability on a vampire before, and DIO has never used either in combat against an opponent. That being said, neither should resist the other’s mind control. DIO has nothing to even indicate he could resist such mental manipulations, and Alucard’s Third Eye is only able to see through illusions, even then only if he consciously wills it so. Zorin’s illusions were merely affecting Seras’ perception to see the false images she desired, which is hardly comparable to full-blown mental domination of DIO’s hypnosis.

Some argue Alucard may not possess a brain due to his shadowy composition, but Walter has confirmed Alucard has a heart, and he clearly possesses a ribcage while in his shadowy mass form after getting hit by Rip van Winkle. If he has these organs and skeletal structures, it’s unlikely he lacks a brain to plant a flesh bud into. Should both use their mind domination abilities in the battle, DIO would have the upper hand due to his vastly superior speed and multiple options to dominate the mind as opposed to Al’s one.

What about Alucard’s intangibility?

Alucard has shown the ability to go intangible before, but only exactly once, and not in combat. As mentioned above, Alucard also regularly lets himself get hit by attacks, so him trying to use his intangibility to evade attacks is not exactly a strategy he would realistically employ. Even if he does, however, DIO could use his eye contact-based hypnosis and simply compel him to become tangible again. Hypnosis is unlikely for DIO to use in combat, but so is Alucard going intangible for extended periods of time.

Can Casull or Jackal negate DIO’s regeneration?

Alucard’s gun duo are perfect vampire busting tools in Hellsing because their bullets are composed of blessed silver, which exploit the fact that holy weapons suppress Hellsing vampire regen. DIO, however, simply does not give a shit.

An argument does exist for Jackal negating Anderson’s regen, as Casull was only able to pop holes into Anderson which he almost instantly healed from, while Jackal blasted a huge chunk out of Anderson's arm which lasted a good while, and thus may have been able to suppress his regeneration for a bit. Anderson is a god damn priest, so it’s unlikely he shares a vampire’s holy weapon weakness. However, it could easily be argued the bigger blasts just exceed what Anderson is typically able to heal in a quick time frame, so this argument remains debatable at best.

Can Alucard unleash Level 0 on his own?

An argument I see come up on occasion is the idea Alucard has only unleashed Level 0 with the direct command of Integra, and thus may not be able to on his own. This is very unlikely, however. Nowhere is it implied that Level 0 requires such permission, and it is simply not the case for Level 1, another restriction level. Al has freely unleashed Level 1 against Luke Valentine, Tubalcain, and Rip van Winkle all when Integra was not even present. Not even an argument of Al never releasing Level 0 when he should holds any water, as Alucard won every fight in Level 1 with ease up to that point. While it’s possible such a restriction exists on Level 0, no evidence specifically supports the claim.

Would DIO’s arrogance get the best of him?

While DIO is quite the arrogant personality, he hasn’t underestimated an enemy since losing to Jonathan in the house fire. In fact, despite his very high self perception, he has become surprisingly thoroughly cautious in combat. During his fight with Jotaro, he completely stopped his attack to reassess the situation when he saw Jotaro twitch in stopped time. To test the limits of Jotaro’s ability to move in stopped time, he threw knives at him from a safe distance. When they hit Jotaro and he fell onto the street, DIO did not assume the JoJo was dead. He instead: shot Jotaro with a police officer's gun, listened for Jotaro’s breath, put an ear to the ground searching for a heartbeat, and only then did he approach to decapitate Jotaro with a stop sign. These are not the actions of an arrogant man underestimating an opponent; they are the overly cautious ones of a seasoned vampire watching every enemy move for even a hint of posing a genuine threat. Furthermore, Dio reached a point where he could openly acknowledge Jonathan as his equal for besting him in combat, and refused to let one of his underlings disrespect his former foster brother.

Does the original Hellsing anime change anything?

The original 2001 Hellsing anime falls into the same category as the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist anime. It was released while the manga was still being written, and thus diverges from the story quite significantly and features many differences contradictory to the manga, the original source material, and Hellsing Ultimate, the much more faithful OVA adaptation. It should be treated like the JoJo OVA, which is similarly the original animated adaptation of Stardust Crusaders which diverges from the original manga quite significantly, as a supplementary source. Death Battle composites characters in a way where official, non-canon source material is included except for parts deemed contradictory, which the Hellsing anime definitely has.

If we were to include everything from the anime, Alucard’s final fight with Incognito would give him a questionable lightning timing feat by avoiding Sett and scaling to Incognito releasing this huge ring of energy. However, lightning timing is still far below DIO’s speeds, and opening the door to compositing gives DIO access to the lost Phantom Blood OVA, which is also a loose animated adaptation. In the OVA, a young William Zeppeli shakes hands with his Hamon master, creating a massive burst of energy that pushes back clouds.

We got fucking mountains down there.

If that’s not enough, fully compositing into contradictory sources is exactly what opens up the path to bringing sources like the JORGE JOESTAR novel or Eyes of Heaven, and Heaven Ascension DIO would wipe Alucard without lifting a finger, anime or not.

What about Schrödinger?

Ah yes, everyone’s favorite German cat boy. Cyber did a pretty solid job interpreting Schrödinger above, so I won’t bother with too much detail on that. Tl;dr Schrödinger and by extension EoS Alucard can appear anywhere they want, including more abstract places like inside illusions, and in any condition they desire so long as they can clearly observe themselves. Can DIO counter that?

First off, Schrödinger shouldn’t and most likely won’t be included in the battle at all. Giving it to Alucard abandons the familiar army he used throughout the vast majority of the manga in exchange for a far vaguer power which he only obtains decades after the main events of the series and never fights with. Hell, he only appears for a grand total of 8 fucking pages (yes, this is the entire existence of Schrödinger Alucard).

If it is included, however, DIO does still have a theoretical win con. Schrödinger grants a strong defensive ability, but has never shown to boost Al’s offensive might, meaning he doesn’t do much to bolster Alucard’s chances of killing DIO any faster than before. It also, in spite of all its hype and power, fails to give Al any reason to resist mind domination. If anything, Schrödinger’s weakness and Alucard being susceptible to it indicate he is vulnerable to mental alteration, rather than resistant. As such, nothing would really stop the much faster DIO from using eye contact-based hypnosis to force Alucard to disclose the form’s weakness and then just command him to forget himself.

Conclusion

(Credit to Advent_Chao)

To summarize, DIO and Alucard are both very resilient vampires who can definitely kill each other, but would very much struggle to do so. DIO has to fight through millions of familiars, either as an army or as Alucard’s extra lives, just to earn the right to attempt to hit Alucard fatally. Alucard has to try and magically land a fatal hit on an opponent who is vastly faster than him, can spam a time stop to avoid shit that gets too close for comfort, is protected by an invisible and equally fast cock blocker, and can regenerate from most of his attacks without issue. No matter who wins, both vampires must bring their absolute best into this fight to achieve victory.

However, between the two of them DIO is the only one who can reliably pull his killing blows off. Alucard’s require a lot of luck or DIO being particularly unaware of his surroundings, while DIO’s only need to work through a predictably finite pool of familiars. It would be in character for Alucard to release Level 0 against a foe as beautifully competent as DIO, which would help the latter greatly by making his target far more vulnerable. An army of 3 million is massive, but a blitzing speed gap and spammable time stop make reaching Alucard a much more plausible task, and gives DIO everything he needs to end the life of the No-Life King.

Normally at the end of these verdicts I like to give a shitty pun in the style of Boomstick, but as this is my most wanted fight ever, I figured it’d only be appropriate to do something a bit more special:

The Bird of Hermes was his name.

Eating his wings kept him too tame.

Two of them fought, and carnage unfurled,

But only one could Stand atop The World.

The winner is Edward Cullen.

Charming Dio Crusaders (Great Charming Dio)

Oh man, Dio vs Alucard, one of my most highly anticipated matchup in years ever since Dante vs Bayonetta, with one of my other most desired matchup being Madara vs Aizen. Two godly-like vampires finally go head to head after a decades worth of debate. It will be an extremely close battle so allow me to state my prediction here. Also this is my very first time in a G1 blog so I’m very much excited for this!!

First off, Imma have to say that Dio takes the edge in Strength. Some of Alucard’s best feats include punching through a nail-enhanced Anderson and tearing apart armored human beings, as well as pushing an aircraft carrier filled with countless bloody corpses across the sea to London with telekinesis. Impressive, although they would pale in comparison to Dio’s strength feats which includes lifting a Steamroller which weighs in the vicinity of 20 tons and then slam dunking it on Jotaro, repeatedly slamming it until it explodes. He has also broke off a street sign and uses it as a weapon, his Stand has also matched and should also scale to Jotaro’s Star Platinum, who has also managed to punch through large diamond-hard teeth.

As for durability, it’s of no doubt at all that Alucard should be taking this easily due to his superior regeneration. Yes, Dio also does have regeneration, although reattaching himself back together by his limbs is nowhere close to Alucard being able to come back from being a puddle of blood. However, Dio’s physical durability has proven he can also take punishments well, while Alucard, having been taking as many punishments as Dio, would be reduced into a puddle, forcing him to regenerate back together. Though it must be noted that the whole reason Alucard was able to reform himself back together is because of the whole stockpile of souls he has absorbed in his body throughout the years and each time he takes damage, his number of souls would be wasted away.

Experience, it’s pretty clear cut that Alucard easily has that in the bag. Dio sleeping in a coffin for about a century really holds no candle to Alucard slaying vampires in his lifetime for 600 years.

Speed is where a massive gap occurs between the two. With the Stand’s faster than light speed and the ability to stop time, it’s of no argument here either that Dio easily speed-blitzes Alucard. That’s not to say that Dio himself shouldn’t be considered as slow, as he was able to react and deflect multiple projectiles from the Emerald Splash. Alucard’s best speed feat should be from when he was able to react and dodge a magic bullet from Rip Van Winkle. The magic bullet was stated to “punish all without distinction” as it tracked along the target and was even able to outpace the Mach 3 Blackbird, which Alucard was piloting, before crashing-landing it. Along with his teleportation capability, this should pit Alucard’s speed at High Hypersonic. Impressive, although not at all enough to even close the massive speed gap, aside from the fact that Alucard really has no true answer to Time-Stop.

So far from what we have here, Dio has the Strength and Speed while Alucard has the Experience and Durability overall. So why not go deeper into analysis then?

So for starters, many have pointed out that Alucard’s main arsenal, his dual guns Jackal and Cassull, should be enough to slay Dio period due the fact that the guns are primarily for slaying vampires in the Hellsing verse. The bullets in the guns are of blessed-silver caliber rounds capable of impairing regeneration and are stated to be a vampire’s main weakness in Hellsing, which stands the reason why it was thought that Alucard’s guns should do the trick. The whole issue however is, Dio is neither from the Hellsing verse nor is he technically a true vampire nor is he also weak to traditional vampire weakness, with the exception of sunlight. It was stated that a human who has worn a Stone Mask becomes a super-evolved human with vampiric abilities as a result, with a need to suck blood to survive, basically removing their natural limits. There was also one instance where Dio was literally stabbed through the skull by Silver Chariot and he still managed to survive and regenerate from it. However, while Casull would be rendered mostly useless to Dio, alot may argue that Jackal should be capable of obliterating Dio in one shot due the scene where Alucard managed to fire off his Jackal at Anderson, a human being with advanced regenerative power, negating it and able to blow off pieces of him. While for me, I’m unsure of whether or not it would affect Dio, it may not matter in any way as it’s only dependent on whether Alucard could score a lucky shot. Dio, with the Time-Stop and his Stand’s speed, makes it nearly impossible for Alucard to ever shoot down Dio for good. In fact, at the beginning of JoJo Part 3 Jotaro’s Star Platinum managed to catch a bullet at POINT-BLANK so there is no reason why Dio’s The World wouldn’t be capable of the same. Hell, his Stand can just simply catch a bullet before flicking it back at Alucard for fun! And if Dio’s smart enough, he would be able to destroy the guns, thus removing one of the annoying threats.

There’s also another argument where Alucard has more abilities than Dio, therefore he would also be able to overcome him with versatility. While that may be true, there were some abilities that Alucard really rarely uses throughout the anime/manga except on a few occasions. Even then, a good amount of Alucard’s abilities sadly gets countered by Dio. People have argued that Alucard can simply turn intangible thus rendering Dio’s physical combat useless, but he has never really used intangibility in combat situations except the one instance he phased through a door. There’s his Telekinesis, but the only combat situation he ever showed with it was tossing several soldiers out the window, thus they get impaled. Even then, Dio should be strong enough to break out of telekinesis and his Stand should be able to interrupt his ability since it acts on its own as a sentient being. Hypnosis, although Alucard has only ever used this ability exclusively on humans, one on a bellman, and another on a soldier to open the elevator. Whether it will work on Dio, a super-evolved human, is another matter but Dio also has hypnosis via his flesh buds so it really counts on how experienced they are with the usage. I would say that Alucard would most likely be susceptible to Hypnosis as Dio was able to brainwash both the likes of Kakyoin and Polnareff and it even required Star Platinum’s strength and surgical precision to remove the flesh bud without killing whoever it’s implanted in. But that’s only if Dio’s able to execute the ability properly on Alucard. Precognition is basically useless against a time-stopping opponent with a faster-than-lightspeed Stand. Soul absorption appears to be a situational-killing scenario where Alucard would actually have to get up close to physical contact before proceeding to bite down their neck and drain their blood and soul thus absorbing it into his body adding into his own stockpile of soul. But keep in mind that it does require physical contact and even then, Dio can just simply keep him off with his Time-Stop, the World, even his Vaporization Freezing Technique which enables Dio to moisturize his own body to freeze anything he touches (this ability was also used to counteract Hamon users), and he can also fire off his Space Ripper Stingy Eyes…. . which is basically pressurized jet eye fluid fired like a laser. In fact, he could also use his freezing technique to counteract Alucard’s regeneration such as freezing his pool of blood. Turning into a mist via Shape-shifting can be a bit troublesome for Dio but it’s not like Alucard would stay in the mist for long as all he would do is really prolong the inevitable. Hemokinesis, but Alucard has never really shown to manipulate the blood of his enemies so it’s not like he can just instantly burst Dio out of his own blood.  And now for his Familiar Control (also acts like a Stand to him), in which he summons his Souls from his main body to assist him in fight, for instance one of his main Familiar, Baskerville (basically a demon dog familiar….rip.) Well for starters, the souls would be equivalent to fighting ghosts since they’re literally spiritual manifestations of themselves and because of that, as stated Stand users are able to see and interact with ghosts automatically, as well as using their Stand abilities on them. In fact, I suppose it must be addressed that Alucard isn’t a Stand user, nor is he able to see The World.

So now, I’ve covered just about a good majority of Alucard’s abilities that gets countered by Dio. We’ve finally reached the Al’s final form, the Level 0 Form. In this form, Alucard literally releases all of his souls into a massive sea of blood and raising a blood army of expandable fodders as a way to gain overwhelming numerical advantage, as well as two of his past opponents he has killed being summoned, Rip Van Winkle, and Dandy Man. However, it is also Alucard’s greatest strength turned greatest weakness. The whole downside is Alucard’s regeneration is immensely reduced as he would be left widely vulnerable for a potential killing blow to the death, namely to his heart. Here’s the thing though..

It’s literally blood.

Blood that Dio can drink. There should be no reason why Dio should have any issues stopping time, then go ahead and drink the blood of his victims thus empowering himself further. This was shown of how Dio has gotten stronger after drinking Joseph Joestar’s blood. Therefore, the level 0 form has only proven to be a literal bon appetit for Dio, allowing him to go for broke on Alucard after drinking the blood.

The only way Alucard can really pull off a certified victory is if he’s able to stall out the battle till sunrise, assuming the battle takes place at the beginning of nighttime since sunlight really means an instant turn into dust for Dio. However, not only is it unlikely for Alucard to hold himself against someone as powerful as Dio for 12 HOURS, but Dio can also delay the time further with his Time-Stop capability and it’s also worth mentioning that the longer Dio fights and the more he uses his Time-Stop power, the longer the duration extends. It’s the functionality of his power that he’s gifted with, unlike Jotaro who’s unable to keep up with using the Time-Stop continuously due to his human body. While there’s really no specified cooldown for the time-stop, DIO was shown to be capable of spamming Time-Stop in short intervals as shown in the infamous Staircase scene where Polnareff was attempting to climb up the stairs. The limit to his time-stop extended duration seems to be theoretically infinite as in the beginning of part 3, his Time-Stop was 5 seconds and towards the end of Part 3 where he died, it was 9 seconds.

So yeah, Alucard really has no way of getting around Dio’s capabilities but then again, what about his regeneration though. Well, yes for 30 years it’s been clarified that Alucard has over 3 million of souls stockpiled in his body so a single punching barrage clearly wouldn’t finish him off like that. But does Dio even have the capability to waste away all of Alucard’s 3 million souls for good? Imma have to say yes as the Time-Stop Barrage will be detrimental to Alucard, also thanks to his Stand’s Faster than light speed punching capability. But I’d reckon eventually at the end that Alucard would have to bust out his Level 0 form to a superior opponent like Dio, which all that would do is really speed him speedrunning into his untimely death.

In the end, Alucard gets *Crimson-f*cked* and his chances of winning this are MUDA.
My verdict goes to Dio.

TheNerd-Bot is Unbreakable (TheNerd-Bot)

(“Of trampling hooves and roaring storms. Lightning’s rage and screams forlorn. Armored knights and pitch-black horses. The horrid shrieks of the devil’s forces. Whirlwinds, fog, and golden lights. The King of Ghosts shall ride tonight. As the damned let loose their fearsome cries… something wicked this way rides…”)

Finally… FINALLY WE’RE GETTING THIS FIGHT! God, a matchup where I actually know both the combatants pretty well? That’s a goddamned miracle in and of itself, but either way, we are finally getting DIO VS Alucard! Not gonna lie, I’m extra hyped for this because honestly? Both characters ended up influencing me and my own VS writing in some form. Sakuya VS DIO was the episode that really got me into VS as a whole, and the fight I feel really helped me come into my own as a VS writer was an Alucard fight, Alucard VS Vandal Savage. And with Liam Swan behind this episode, the fact that it’s supposed to be the longest, and it being a Halloween episode? This is pretty much a perfect storm for a fight to remember. Plus, Hellsing Ultimate Abridged and JJBATAS are two of my favorite abridged series out there, alongside Hellsing and Jojo on their own being downright phenomenal. But enough about me geeking out, ONTO THE VERDICT!

Oh yeah, and I made a bunch of sprite edits in anticipation for this fight so those will be sprinkled throughout. Enjoy!

("Tch. How boring. I was hoping that there would be more of a fun challenge here. What a shame... But now, it's time for you to die, you shambling waste of a human life."

"Oho? So you managed to close the gap between us, have you? Hmph. Let me teach you a lesson, you daft old fool. The gap between an insect such as yourself and I, DIO, is as vast as the deepest oceans! ZA WARUDO!")

Starting off with the basics, in terms of stats… yeah, DIO has this shit on lock. At bare minimum, he’s twice as strong and four times as durable, but it’s very likely the gap is even larger considering Planet Waves, which could potentially bump him up to over eight times stronger and tougher at his absolute best. Even if we use anti-feats like DIO getting his leg cut off by glass, Alucard literally gets torn to Swiss cheese every episode, sooooooo… And in terms of speed? Yeah, unfortunately for the Hellsing Organization’s secret weapon, he has no chance of tagging DIO at all. Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure characters have consistently shown the capability of faster than light reaction speeds, while Alucard’s best is around Mach 38. Even going with Jotaro VS Kenshiro’s numbers of DIO being ‘just’ Relativistic, that’s still leaps and bounds above anything Alucard can even begin to comprehend. In other words, across the board, DIO takes the stats category.

Moving onto their respective abilities, this one’s actually a lot closer than the previous. Both DIO and Alucard share a lot of abilities, from their blood draining, psychic powers, mind control, etc., but there are a few differences. Alucard by and large has the better forms of hax. His telekinesis can throw DIO around like a ragdoll, his weather manipulation and hemokinesis allows him to manipulate the environment to his advantage, his familiars grant him a ludicrous numbers advantage, and his intangibility, illusions, and shape shifting allows him to get the drop on DIO in various ways. Meanwhile, the vampire nemesis of the Joestars has a less versatile arsenal but no less effective. While we know that spirits like Reimi have shown the ability to be aware of Stands and supernatural occurrences like the Ghost Alley can harm Stands like Echoes, Cheap Trick, and Killer Queen, and we know that Alucard can interact with souls, Alucard has no real counters to ZA WARUDO’s time stop, meaning that he’s gonna struggle even harder to touch DIO. DIO’s freezing vaporization hard-counters any attempts at hand to hand combat, and the Space Ripper Stingy Eyes > Jackal and Casull. I can’t really give either one a real advantage over the other in this category, so this category is a tie. Alucard has the greater versatility, while DIO’s arsenal can hard counter a good chunk of Alucard’s own.

In terms of regeneration(yes, this deserves its own category)… yeah it’s kinda obvious Alucard has the edge in this category. Like, by and large, he’s shown to be capable of soaking up much, much more damage than DIO has ever taken in his life. It’s basically his entire thing. But that doesn’t mean that Jonathan’s adoptive brother’s doomed necessarily. Keep in mind that Jojo vampires can regenerate pretty damn well on their own. Straizo came back from getting shredded by a tommy gun and being blown to bits, Vanilla Ice survived a sword to the brainstem, his neck snapping, and his body being turned into a pincushion by Silver Chariot, and DIO… survived being bisected, decapitated, getting shot through the head, and having most of his skull crushed. Something that’s gonna make this fight easier for DIO is the fact that he can constantly regenerate faster and better thanks to Alucard’s number of familiars. Considering his speed and power, he can definitely drain them in order to grow stronger. ...but yeah, no, Alucard takes this category by leaps and bounds. His healing factor is not only more potent, being able to come back from being reduced to pretty much a pile of shadow and meat, but it’s also much faster, as seen in his fight against Anderson. Point to the No-Life King!

Another major factor in this fight is the combat smarts of the respective fighters. Both are incredibly clever combatants, but they’re also pretty overconfident in their abilities, as they are all too eager to show off. But oddly enough? It’s Alucard who’s the most likely to suffer because of his hubris. Yeah, DIO is basically a walking talking god complex but think about it. In his fights in series, he rarely, if ever, let his ego overtake his own caution. When fighting Hamon Masters who had techniques that are meant to kill vampires, how did DIO fight back? Develop a technique to disrupt their blood flow in order to make it so they couldn’t use Hamon properly. When Joseph tried to trick him into attacking his Hamon-supercharged body, what did DIO do in response? He stopped before he attacked, realizing what Joseph was planning, and thought up a counter strategy by impaling him in the throat from a distance. When Jotaro was faking his death, what did DIO do in response? Check various signs of life around him to see if he was faking it, and when he found nothing… he tried to chop off his head anyways just in case. DIO may have a massive ego, but it’s clear he’s also a lot more cautious than most people give him credit for. Meanwhile, a lot of Alucard’s fights can be summed up as “Alucard appears, the enemy fucks him up a shitton without him bothering to even try and dodge, Alucard regenerates, bang bang bang, Alucard wins.” Not to mention, he rarely, if ever, uses his more ‘haxxy’ abilities in combat, some of them appearing only once or twice in the whole series, as he almost exclusively relies on his guns, his familiars, and his regeneration in most of his fights. The Hellsing Organization’s ace in the hole is far from an idiot, but it’s also obvious that he simply believes most foes he fights can’t do anything to him, and given his track record… it’s admittedly very warranted. Alucard is definitely both better trained and more experienced on account of being Vlad the Motherfucking Impaler, but the fact remains that because of Alucard’s reckless fighting style and overconfidence in his healing factor, he’s very very likely to end up being outwitted by DIO and his smarter way of fighting.

So, two points for DIO, one point for Alucard, and one tie. Seems fairly even. But the real question is this… do either of these characters have a means to kill the other? Both of them are ridiculously hard to kill, and with DIO’s superior stats and time stop VS Alucard’s just flat-out refusal to stay dead, this battle will ultimately come down to who can manage to permanently kill the other. So, can Alucard kill DIO? Well, let’s go over the list of possible win conditions Alucard could potentially use here.

("Don't you understand, DIO? It's useless, useless, useless... Only a man can kill a monster such as myself. And you are no man."

"Fuhahahaha... you're right, Alucard. I, DIO, am no man... I have transcended the shackles of humanity long ago. Now, I, DIO, AM A GOD!"

"Tch. How pathetic. Yet another fool who thinks humanity is something to be transcended. Fine then. You wish to be a god so badly? Then allow myself to play the part of The Devil."

"Very well then, 'Count Dracula'! Then let us enact a scene from the good book. THE TALE OF LUCIFER'S FALL FROM GRACE!")

- The Casull is pretty much USELESS USELESS USELESS in this situation. While it can fuck up Hellsing vampires due to firing sacred silver, we know for a fact that DIO is immune to holy relics, due to him crushing a cross with his bare hands. While the Jackal may fare a bit better considering it can tear through Anderson’s healing factor… Well, not only are bullets the slowest things in Jojo what with how even a barely-manifested Star Platinum could catch a bullet fired from a gun that was right against Jotaro’s skull, nothing can stop DIO from outright smashing these guys to pieces if he wants. Plus, as mentioned before, Space Ripper Stingy Eyes trump the guns due to DIO’s eyeballs not really being able to run out of ammo and being able to repair themselves over time.

- Alucard’s familiar army is pretty much a double-edged sword, because while it gives him an unquestionable numbers advantage, they’re also a constant buffet for DIO to drain blood from and keep himself going at peak physical form. Given the already major speed gap and DIO’s flight powers, I very much doubt that the familiars are gonna fare any better at seriously harming DIO than their master.

- Alucard getting the chance to bite DIO’s neck and drain his blood is a one in a million chance for him, especially considering both the massive speed gap and The World’s time stop making it so he can’t ever catch him, and DIO’s superior durability meaning that even if he did catch him, his teeth wouldn’t likely pierce his skin. Even factoring out the stat difference, DIO’s vaporization freezing means that any attempt at close combat will be answered with Alucard sucking the icy tit of defeat, especially since he lacks any counters to it due to having no fire-based moves in his arsenal.

- Alucard’s mind control is countered by the fact that DIO also has mind control in two different forms, and the Stand User Vampire is fast enough to avoid any attempts that Alucard really has to offer. Plus, it’s not in character for Alucard to use a trick like that in battle, given his Blood Knight tendencies.

- Telekinesis could potentially restrain DIO and keep him still… but we also know that Stands can and have the ability to act even when their users are restrained, as Forever had to restrain both Jotaro and Star Platinum, and Star Platinum was in turn able to free itself on its own.

- Alucard can turn into mist to avoid fatal hits and possibly kill DIO? Well, The World sucks.

- Literally. And even if The World couldn’t do this(unlikely since it and Star Platinum are very similar), it’s not in character for Alucard to attempt to cheese his way to victory, given the dude loves fighting people.

-Alucard’s philosophy of ‘only a man can kill a monster’ is just that - a philosophy. It’s not a literal statement, it’s him talking about how much he admires humanity and that he wants to ultimately die to a person who didn’t sacrifice their humanity like he did. Applying this literally makes no logistical sense and would pretty much be a NLF. The best you can say is that it gives Alucard more determination to win, but that’s it.

-Alucard’s illusions are his best shot at winning this, given DIO has no real counters to this. But at the same time, it still doesn’t really change the stat difference or the fact that DIO can just ZA WARUDO his way out of it given his superior reaction time.

Ironically, DIO’s worst threat in this fight isn’t gonna be Alucard himself. The thing that risks screwing him over the most here? Time. Remember, Alucard can survive in the daytime, but DIO can’t. In other words, Alucard’s best chance at winning this fight is going to be outlasting him. Now, with Alucard being pretty infamous for being stupid hard to kill, you may be thinking, “Wait, isn’t this a viable option?” Well… no. Not really. There’s more than a few issues with this win condition. First off… the weather. Yeah, surprisingly the freaking weather could screw over a combatant in a Death Battle. What if the day ends up being cloudy? What if there’s a dense fog? It may seem like a dumb argument to make(and admittedly, it kinda is) but this wincon is relying heavily on the fact that the sun is guaranteed to be out all day. And speaking from a Midwesterner… that ain’t a guarantee. So Alucard’s biggest wincon can already be disrupted by a friggin’ cloud, but, giving Alucard the benefit of the doubt, let’s just guarantee that the sun will rise in another few hours. Twelve hours, specifically. In order to kill Alucard for good, DIO’s gonna need to be able to kill all 3,424,868 souls that comprise Alucard’s #LifeHack, leaving Alucard finally open to a potential killing blow. Considering that’s a shitton of bodies to mow through and there’s only two guys on DIO’s side, we can assume that DIO’s screwed here, right? Well… not quite. We know that canonically, it took Alucard thirty years to slaughter each and every one of his souls until him and Schrodinger remained.

While one might initially assume that this means that DIO can’t possibly destroy his backup souls in the relatively short frame of time he has, remember, DIO has the ability to stop time, and that ability continues to evolve with each time he uses it. And, unlike Jotaro, DIO can pretty much spam ZA WARUDO with impunity. So, we(and by we I mean Sam) did the math, and decided to see how long DIO could stall for time if he continuously spammed the time stop against Alucard. And the numbers we got?

Almost Thirty Years Exactly.

And keep in mind, this doesn’t factor in the ludicrous speed advantage DIO has over Alucard, meaning that he could probably somehow manage to kill all of Alucard’s souls in an even shorter amount of time. So, if DIO plays this smart(which, as we’ve established, he most definitely will), he will without a doubt be able to take out Alucard’s souls before the sun rises.

Even if DIO can’t slaughter all of the souls in Alucard’s consciousness, there’s still the option of Level 0, which unleashes all of Alucard’s souls at once. Considering that DIO is much, much stronger than anything Alucard’s faced, it’s not out of the question to assume he’d be forced to pull out all the stops. And given that Level 0 leaves Alucard mortal(yeah he still has his healing factor but it’s not him outright rejecting death anymore), and DIO is still much much stronger, faster, and tougher, DIO would be able to land a fatal hit before the sun rises either by tearing through the familiars or just attacking Alucard himself. Given how the rules of Death Battle take almost everything into account including super modes, this is probably gonna be the route that’s most likely taken.

Finally, even if we do assume all these previous points are moot, and the sun is guaranteed to come out before DIO kills all the souls Alucard’s stockpiled and Level 0 doesn’t come into play, there’s still one other trick DIO can pull.

Just punch a hole in the ground. Like… legitimately, just punch a really big fucking hole in the ground and hide from the sun. Or better yet, make an entire ass tunnel before the sun comes up. Or just go inside a building and hide. The sun doesn’t come up instantaneously, so it’s not a stretch of the imagination to just assume DIO would see the sun begin to rise, realize he needs to retreat, and figure out a plan to hide from the sun. What the hell is Alucard gonna do? Go into the hole and try to shoot DIO out? It sounds stupid, but we’ve seen this work out in Jojo before with Jotaro and the Crusaders above. Why couldn’t DIO just do the same?

So yeah, DIO has a fairly solid(if tedious) win condition, but Alucard… does not. A pretty open and shut case for DIO taking this, right? Well, not quite. We still have to address the elephant in the room: Schrödinger.

(We can never escape this catboy, can we?)

First off, Schrödinger isn’t really an equivalent to Heaven Ascension DIO. He’s canon(which Eyes of Heaven isn’t) and Alucard actually has him at the end of the series(which DIO doesn’t). Does this mean I think we should take Schrödinger into account? ...honestly, no. There’s a bunch of issues with Schrödinger, and I ain’t just talking about the fact that he’s a Nazi. Schrödinger’s powers are very poorly defined, and we don’t really know how the Hell they work. Even canon is somewhat vague on what exactly his powers do. Not only that, but Schrödinger’s powers are directly incompatible with Level 0. Meaning Death Battle’s gonna have to choose one or the other in order for this battle to work. And if’n ya ask me? I’d probably roll with the powerset that we know how it works. But let’s assume that Death Battle brings Schrödinger into play. Does this really change anything? Well… yes and no. On the one hand, Alucard is now even immortal-er, meaning that even DIO’s gameplan of ‘punch the souls outta Alucard’ is gonna be out of the question. On the other hand… every other factor in DIO’s favor is still there. Alucard still ain’t gonna be tagging him, and even if he can, what the hell can he possibly hope to do to hurt DIO with such a stat gap? To put it in the words of my good friend Doomblade2: “An immortal punching bag is still a goddamn punching bag.”

This fight is interesting because it’s a battle that’s honestly pretty close… but it’s also pretty decisive. By all rights, I’m pretty much convinced that DIO will be the one to come out on top here, but Alucard is going to push him to his absolute limits to do so. The Hellsing Organization’s Secret Weapon has the immortality, the experience, and the versatility to force DIO to pull out all the stops, but I just can’t see the heart-studded heartthrob losing this, especially with his insane speed, raw strength, incredible STANDO POWAH, and sheer smarts. All Hell will Sing of the brutality and carnage that will no doubt result from this fight, but in the end, no matter how much blood, sweat, and tears that Alucard pours into killing his foe, the Joestar's ultimate enemy will DIO the No-Life King a Warudo’ hurt. The winner is none other than Him, DIO!

("No... it's not possible. I... cannot lose...! Not to a monster like you!"

"No matter how much you thrash and fight it, you cannot escape the truth, Alucard... Now, do you have any last words?"

"Just this... you may have killed me, DIO... but there is another. One that could prove even stronger than I am. And when you meet her... I'll save a spot for you in Hell with me."

"That's the spirit, Alucard. Die with your pathetic hopes for the future. Now... pray to God that your sins may be forgiven. But I must warn you..."

"I won't be listening.")

Agent Wind (Agent)

(Cardiovascular Excersise lesgoooooooooooooooooooo, also yes, I drew this, don’t ask)

Oh hey guys, it’s me once more, back for another sick blog for one of my all time most wanted fights featuring two mega based Anime Vampires. Dio vs Alucard, Diocard, Cardio, Leotard, Dildotard, whatever you wanna call it, this match is freaking hype, and is probably my second highest hype this whole season, just behind Heihachi vs Geese, with Kcalb coming into a third place prob. I really like Dio and Alucard as characters, and Jojo and Hellsing are both pretty sick series, the former of which being in my top 5 favorite anime series. This season all around has filled me with mixed feelings, from amazing peaks like Goku Black vs Reverse Flash and Link vs Cloud 2, to not so good episodes like Star vs Steven. Episodes that subverted expectations like Po vs Iron Fist, and Lex vs Doom. This season has been a bit of a ride, but one I’ve been proud to be on with my time here, and the personal growth I’ve been experiencing too throughout the year. As for Kool Aid Man vs Macho Man, it was my least favorite this season honestly, even disregarding the verdict. It felt more like a Boomstick Dad quest unnecessarily, featuring Kool-Aid Man and Randy Savage. The structure and analysis didn't feel satisfying, but the fight itself is passable enough I’d say, even if it felt a bit short for me overall. Regardless, Cardio was so hype I almost kinda forgot that episode at times.

Either way, this is what I’d say is definitely the best matchup for either character. Both are arrogant British anime vampires who rejected their humanities in times of desperation to become immortal, but with one embracing it seeing it as a blessing to his life, the other seeing it as a curse, hoping to be slaughtered to end his life. Both have Spirit warriors they can summon in battle they serve as familiar manifestations that fuck over their enemies, while also plauging England in the 19th Centry before being sealed by a Vampire slayer they grew respect towards, though Dio became the ultimate enemy of the Joestar family, while Alucard became the servant of the Hellsing family. Both also had a thing for a Priest too. Either way, the core threads mesh very well thematically, and build really good contrasts similar to the thematics of matchups like Gorr vs Saint Walker, by using contrasts that are thematically similar, but happen in the opposite way, building a solid contrast that isn’t forced, with many “contrast” based matchups use very poorly I feel. I just feel with an aesthetic, fight dynamic, and theme that just meshes this well, and the insanely arrogant personalities of the characters, you can make some very fun things out of a fight like this which I pray the episode manages to live up to in every way it can. Now, shall we explain who actually wins this? I’m sure bored, so let's cook up some arguments.

Now, some think Yellow Dracula man with a Ghost stomps, others think Vampire Vash Crimson Fuck stomps. I don’t think either does, but there are clear factors that lead one to victory overall when you look deep enough, but it’s no easy win given the things both bring to the table here. Well being real, the section addressing shit like Lightspeed Jojo characters, Schrödinger, Canonicity, etc. already covered a lot of shit, so I might as well just cut to the chase and make it brief. Dio should have AP/Dura in the bag, but not by too much, comparing their feats. Alucard scales above vampires who can survive 48 ton explosions of a Zeppelin, which Dio is above, though not by a crap ton by surviving the Cruise liner crash which got 64 tons of TNT. While there is other stuff we can potentially mention, I’ll stick to these feats just for now to be safe, as certain feats could use more proper calcing (EDIT: at the time this blog was finished, the feats have had more proper calcs but I won’t mention that here anyways as Dio’s stronger regardless and it doesn’t change much and I’m just lazy idk). Speed is handedly going to Dio as well, scaling to various lightspeed feats, and statements from other characters in the series, and with them massively truming over Alucard’s Hypersonic reactions. Alucard can probably move the faster of the two, but Dio’s reactions, and time stop more than compensate, allowing him more options to consistently trump his speed into the dust.

Now to address more complex shit. Alucard has better regen than Dio, and very damn good regen at that, but with Dio being stronger and faster than anything that Alucard has ever faced, he will likely be very willing to go all out on Dio as he considers him a worthy foe to his strength due to surpassing his own, allowing him to go Level 0 so he’d unleash all of his Familiars, leaving him vulnerable to a fatal blow from Dio. Dio’s problem is getting around these familiars, which given the amount of them, is gonna take awhile. Alucard should regen just fine, but if Dio manages to hit his heart, that is a reliable win condition on his hands there, and given Dio’s superior speed, time stop, regen, and the AP gap arguably being enough that Alucard can’t physically hurt him reliably, I think Dio has what it takes to overtax Alucard and finish him off, but it’s gonna be long and difficult before that happens. While it could be argued that Alucard can wait for morning given he can survive in Sun, and Dio dies to the sun and it’s energies given their different vampiric physiologies, this is not a 100% reliable win condition given Alucard’s personality, and how he wants an opponent worthy for his might, which Dio is, and the fact that it’s not always guaranteed to be sunny by morning given Clouds could be blocking it out, or Dio can hide in shade as he’s not dumb. Either way, Alucard has win conditions, but they’re much more specific and require extra procision to pull off, while Dio’s are more straightforward, and easy to pull off given his stats, Alucard’s personality, time stop, and other factors to account for.

As for funnier shit I can mention, Original Hellsing (which is inconsistent with the manga and Hellsing Ultimate) has an arguable Town level feat, though the lost Phantom Blood Movie has a Town level calc for the cloud dispersal. This would make the AP gap not too far, and Dio would probably still win, but only due to blitz, but if accounted for, I think it’s a bit more difficult for Dio. Regardless, yeah, I think for this kinda short verdict, Dio wins for these main reasons, but he’s got a lot to go through, and a lot to contend with before he can finally get the win here.

Alucard is gonna have to get glued back together…. In Hell! While Dio, will ascend to winnerdom by the power of Heaven. The winner is Dio like I already said lol.

(OVA Dio looked mega based btw)

Who should properly be called My boi Jotaro (as it was my name before changing it to Agent), your local goober, signing off. Oh yeah, and to finish it all off, have what may be the greatest thing to ever walk the Earth. Bye bye! Oh, and Happy Halloween Mothertruckers! Lets get more Red coats on the show cause they’re based. Especially if they look like Guile

EpicLinkStone Ocean (EpicLinkSam)

(Kamen Rider Kiva's OST is great. Watch Kamen Rider.)

Well, I’m back for another one of these, and oh boy, is it a big one. Dio vs Alucard’s always been one of my absolute favorite matches, especially thanks to how much I love both characters.

Looking at this, the overall match is a lot more interesting than one might assume. Let’s get down to it, shall we?

First off, the stat trinity. This one is a no brainer. Dio has all of these.

His strength is far above Alucard’s. The most Alucard has done is create that fog, which ranks at around 16 tons of TNT. However, Dio surpasses that by being superior to Stone Free, which can deflect meteors around 138 tons.

Durability also goes to Dio, who can tank that ship explosion worth 64 tons of TNT as just a head. Alucard on the other hand, has never shown durability like that, with his whole gimmick being how he gets torn to shreds before regenerating (more on that later).

And speed? Holy hell, this one is just unfair. The best we can give to Alucard is Mach 38 thanks to Rip Van Winkle. Not bad… buuuuut, this is JoJo we’re talking about. There’s light speed feats all the time. Even if we go for the absolute lowest and say relativistic, that’s still far faster than anything Alucard is capable of. And this isn’t even taking into account Dio’s time stop.

Ability-wise, the two seem to be actually blow for blow here. They both have hypnosis, Dio can counter Alucard’s telekinesis with The World, Alucard can severely outnumber Dio with all of his familiars and such. While Dio’s stronger abilities surpass that of Alucard’s, and Alucard can’t see The World due to lacking a Stand or soul sight abilities, the No Life King’s ludicrous regeneration can back him up here. While you could argue that Dio’s abilities are superior, don’t count Alucard out just yet.

Now, let’s look at how their personalities would clash. Despite how arrogant Dio is, what comes in his favor is just how cautious he is. Remember all those steps Dio did to make sure Jotaro was dead? Dio’s arrogance is dangerous, since he usually doesn’t let it get to his head too much. Alucard on the other hand… you remember his main strategy is to go in guns blazing? Get torn up to shreds, regenerate and win? Yeah, that won’t work here on an opponent that’s far stronger, faster and cautious. Alucard might have more battle experience, but Dio’s own intelligence would help him here.

So Dio has the stats and personality, and can match Alucard’s abilities. But then we get to what keeps Alucard in the game; his regeneration.

Of course, Alucard won’t go down that easily, with how many souls he has. In fact, I actually argued Alucard could win via outlasting Dio for the Sun to come up, since Dio dies to sunlight and Alucard doesn’t. Combine that with stuff like his intangibility and fog form, it seems like Dio wouldn’t be able to win… only for me to realize as more research happened, that the option for Alucard winning via outlasting is extremely low, for several reasons.

  1. This would be under the assumption that the weather IS sunny. Due to the nature of the fight, they can’t choose if it’ll be sunny or not. Alucard in particular can seemingly make a fog, but that would just fuck him over.

  2. Dio isn’t stupid. If he sees the first few rays of the Sun, he can Time Stop and take cover, or just dig a hole (like Star Platinum did).

  3. Alucard’s two methods of prolonging the fight are his fog form and intangibility, but Dio could probably just succ the fog with The World (since Star Platinum could do the same), and Time Stop at the right moments when Alucard is tangible. And Alucard wouldn’t just stay intangible for the whole fight, because…

  4. He loves battle. Why would he just stand there, with Dio unable to hit him at all? It’s not like him to do that.

  5. And finally… Dio reasonably can take out every one of Alucard’s souls. Yeah, you heard me.

See, Alucard’s ridiculous regeneration is tied to the number of souls he has stored. 3,424,867 of em’. It seems like a crazy amount, right? Especially since it took Alucard 30 years to get rid of them. Buuut, that doesn’t work.

I'm gonna do some math here.

Let's say that Dio's Time Stop increases by a second for every time he uses it.

And he has 12 hours (night) to take down Alucard. 12 hours is 43200 seconds. Already a generous amount of time.

So let's use the formula for 1 + 2 + 3 ... + 43200.

So that would give us (43200(43200+1))/2 = 933141600

We subtract 1, 2, 3, 4 (the starting amount) and add 43201, 43202, 43203 and 43204.

That brings the total to 933314400 seconds.

Then we add the initial 43200, bringing it up to 933357600 seconds.

Converting that to hours, we get 259266.

Then converting that to days, we get 10802 days and 18 hours (nearly 30 years), which is the most amount of time Dio could have if he spammed the Time Stop every second.

The calc with minutes (Dio spams it every minute, being even more generous);

12 Hours = 720 Minutes = 43200 seconds

(720(720+1))/2 = 259560 seconds.

259560 - 10 + 2890 = 262440 seconds.

262440 + 43200 = 305640 seconds.

305640 seconds = 3 Days, 12.9 Hours and 54 Minutes

Keep in mind, this isn’t factoring in the fact that Dio has a strength advantage and an insane speed advantage. This is also lowballing the Time Stop growth, as it could be 1.5 or 2 seconds, for all we know. 1 second is the absolute bare minimum, if Dio’s words are to be taken into account during his final fight with Jotaro. Alucard also needs to devour more souls depending on the damage he takes to regen, and his aggressive and self-destructive fighting style does not help things. There’s also the fact that Alucard summoning all his souls in Level 0 just gives Dio the chance to absorb more blood from his familiars and heal even faster, letting his own regeneration keep up with Alucard’s. Alucard can’t do the same, since his fangs aren’t strong enough to pierce Dio’s skin, much less Dio’s insane speed advantage prevents him from even doing so.

In other words, a lowballed Dio (with the seconds calc) could take out nearly every one of Alucard’s souls in one night.

The short version is that Alucard’s only real win condition is extremely iffy. Because of Dio’s insane speed advantage, intelligence and durability, Alucard can’t really hope to outlast him.

So yeah, Alucard’s boned. But of course, we need to address the last elephant in the room. Or rather, cat femboy in the room; Schrödinger.

First off, as stated above, Alucard cannot use Schrödinger’s abilities with his main powerset, due to how it clashes and kills him if he has any of his other souls. Under the assumption that he does get it… it doesn’t really change anything. Sure, he can’t be killed normally, buuut there is a way around it.

See, the way Alucard came back after devouring all of his souls was acknowledging the fact that he existed. As long as he acknowledges that, he can’t die. And while Dio can’t hypnotise him out of it, he does have a different mind control method that Alucard can’t counter; the Flesh Buds.

The Flesh Buds are far more effective than Dio’s regular hypnotism, dominating the victim’s mind. Dio would have Alucard under his complete control, and could just have the vampire acknowledge the fact that he doesn’t exist, then pop.

Now you might also point out that Dio would have no way of knowing how Schrödinger’s abilities work, but that would also mean that we’re giving Alucard Schrödinger’s abilities in the first place, which is extremely unlikely due to its vague nature and upper limits being unclear. Not only that, Dio with Alucard under his control could just ask him how his weakness works, and voila.

Plus, the fight wouldn’t be interesting if it was just Dio beating the shit out of Alucard and Alucard not doing anything but get the shit beat out of him. All Schrödinger does is make Alucard a complete punching bag.

With all that in mind, Alucard’s insane regeneration, vampiric abilities and battle experience would put up a good fight against Dio, the eternal enemy to the Joestar family’s strength, insane speed, durability, abilities and cunning would let him finally end the No Life King. Looks like Alucard was Dionied the win. The winner is Dio Brando.

Steel Mal Run (Mal)

Oh boy, Dio vs Alucard...this is going to be a good one. I will say right here and now that Dio vs Alucard has always been in my Top 5 most wanted fights in DEATH BATTLE and I am glad that they are finally doing it. I have wanted this fight for literal years and it’s finally happening so much so that months before I asked Nemesis Bloodrhyce if I could join him on his predictions for Dio vs Alucard and that video turned out to be extremely good so I highly recommend you check it out:

This waiting period for Dio vs Alucard has been very interesting seeing people go into the very minute details regarding this fight and pulling out all the stops for this blog which you can plainly see considering how long the blog is as well as most of the other verdicts. Since everyone has more or less said everything about Dio vs Alucard that needs to be said, I am going to try and keep this fairly concise though I make no promises.

As made clear as day in the Dio vs Alucard prediction video, i was firmly on Dio’s side and i do think he is going to win this fight - due to his wincons being more reliable and Dio’s overwhelming speed and hax advantage with the timestop buut at the same time. I am going to go for the contradicting opinion on this blog and… nah just kidding with you i am going to side with Dio on this one.

Ultimately what this fight comes down to is, can Dio Brando overpower Alucard’s 3 million souls and then finish him off or simply kill Alucard whilst in Level 0 before Alucard can take advantage of Dio’s weaker regeneration and rip him apart to the point that he can’t heal himself back up again as what Alucard needs to do is put Dio in a state where he can no longer move or really do much of anything before killing him.

The thing is is that it’s much easier said than done when it comes to Dio, Alucard is having to deal with the fact that Dio has the overwhelming speed advantage in this fight - like the best that people have put Alucard is Hypersonic and even that is probably overselling him a bit but Dio scales characters such as Joseph Joestar who have reacted to FTL attacks as well as the fact that Stands are explicitly stated to be Faster than Light and have actually been calced at being Massively Faster than Light. Dio can simply react to all of Alucard’s attacks with his reaction speed and then use the World to hit back. For a sense of comparison it’s like the Sans fight in Undertale, all of Alucard’s attacks are simply going to miss when Dio is that much faster - meaning it is extremely unlikely that Alucard would be able to land an actual hit on Dio nevermind landing a fatal blow on Dio that he needs. I will admit though if Alucard is able to severely injure Dio he could potentially finish things… buuut I think that is extremely unlikely considering it is going to be less than easy for Alucard to land the hit he needs in order to cripple Dio permanently.

Basically more than likely this fight is going to lead to Dio pushing Alucard into a corner, forcing him to go Level 0 and with Dio’s time stop and speed he is going to be able to take on Level 0 Alucard and kill him. Before you ask - what about the illusions - couldn’t Alucard cast an illusion against Dio to trick and then kill Dio? Well not that easy with time stop - not only is Alucard is not Jotaro in that he has no way of actually moving during the time stop but he won’t be able to even think during the time stop meaning casting illusions or well doing  anything to neutralise Dio’s attack is going to be rendered MUDA. If Dio wanted to - he could very much force the World’s hand through Alucard’s chest whilst in Time Stop and destroy it - killing him for good and we know that this is a thing based on the fact that Walter specifically mentioned his heart in that - if you kill the heart whilst Alucard is in Level 0, you kill Alucard for good since while Alucard tends to morph into a strange substance - he still needs a heart and organs in order to life. The only reason why Walter wasn’t able to kill Alucard was due to Time (his body morphing backgrounds) and Alucard casting an illusion to trick Walter which he can’t do whilst in stopped time since Alucard needs to think in order to use any of his powers. In other words, Dio has an extremely solid win condition compared to Alucard’s very shaky win condition.

Even if we ignore Level 0 Entirely and assume that Alucard can’t use it for whatever reason - Dio probably can still deplute all of Alucard’s 3 millions souls. While i will freely admit it is an extremely tall order to do so and would likely take him hours - it is definitely not impossible that Dio could deplete all of Alucard’s souls within a night as explained in earlier verdicts - due to how fast Dio is plus the fact that Dio’s Time Stop gets longer and longer the more he uses it - and we have already calced how much time Dio would use it if he spammed it constantly every second for 12 hours. Even lowballing it considerably - Dio has more than enough time to deplete all of Alucard’s souls and even if the sun starts rising, Dio can always go underground or go into an area where there is no sun.

All in all, I just think Dio’s win conditions are much more reliable then Alucard and Dio’s biggest weakness being the sun ultimately won’t matter much in the long run. I think Dio has the speed, hax to take this. In this battle of vampires, I think Dio is going to come out of this - the king of Anime Vampires.

Hope my verdict wasn’t too long and I am looking forward to this fight and whatever fight is next...betting it being on Korra vs Rey. Anyway, CYA.

Before I start my view, I want to thank Mal and the rest of the G1’s for making this awesome blog as well as letting me become a verdict on it. Truly love both of these killer vampires and wanted to do my best in making this blog special. Had a blast in going over this matchup and its bizarre outcome. I hope to continue in doing these blogs as I continue with my degree and hope to make awesome characters like these two. With that out of the way, let’s start on my verdict.

Dio Vs Alucard was the vampire fight that needed to be answered in seeing which vampire is fiction’s true king of the night. It was during my high school years where I slowly discovered these two thanks to One Minute Melee, their best fight, and Watchmojo. And I totally understand why all love the vampires, because of how much shit they can talk and taunt before killing their prey. Everyone, including myself, wanted this fight to happen, even Liam. But, Boomstick feared this fight since the Community Death Battle because he knew there was more to their abilities when going all out. After a few years of waiting and some foreshadowing, we finally can see this fight in the night.

First, let me show a picture of my old summary of what I originally thought of the outcome:

(Cringe, But that UnBrando rhyme was my favorite made for this series)

The summary of my prediction was that while Dio was indeed faster, smarter, and more determined, he could not finish the fight due to Alucard’s broken abilities, durability, and lack of weaknesses. But, after helping out in this blog and seeing the full picture:

(Oh…. Now I understand)

As shown throughout this prediction blog, and why the original maker totally memed on this, Dio surprisingly has completely fooled us into thinking this was going to be a stomp. From my view, this will be a very close yet confusing match because again their supernatural abilities are broken and complex to see their maximum potential. I never expected to see a vampire version of Ghost Rider Vs Lobo, that is how close this fight will be. So here will be my three factors into the verdict that will be similar but different to my original post. Here are the three I chose: Stats, Control, and The World Vs Level 0/Schrödinger. Now let's see who has the better fangs.

Round 1: Stats-  As VampyreNVRmore and Nerd-Bot has pointed out amazingly, Dio beats Alucard in all three categories. While Strength and Durability were close around the city block at best, the fact of Dio’s speed that was a big game changer against Alucard. Which I knew from my previous verdict as clear and cut.  Many times it has been shown in the Jojo series of high level reactions of light speed attacks like Joseph dodging a ray of light from the sun or the famous Hanged Man feat. Alucard has shown speed of sound reaction, but never light speed characters that Dio has scaled and defeated. Alucard is indeed very durable and has shown much endurance while also almost matching Dio in power, but Brando destroys in speed and the other two for just being a whole different vampire that Alucard has never faced. You expected Alucard to easily win in stats, but it was him, Dio, who went all the way in round 1.

Round 2: Control: For both being predators of darkness, you need to have complete control of the board for check-mate. As for Dio and Alucard, both will want full control the moment they get serious. Dio has proven to be a very smart man, in his education and fast learning of even the most supernatural elements. He has fooled the Jostar family for years until Jothanan caught on, understood the powers of the Stone Mask within a day, and mastered both his Stand and Vampire heritage in a short time. Dio is a very determined bastard in using any advantage or actions to carefully remain superior to his victims. Alucard, while might not be as intelligent as Dio, is an experienced genius from his years as Vlad and Count Dracula. Keep in mind the Hellsing series is based on real life Vlad the Impaler and Bram Stoker's novel of the same name, and the Hellsing author confirmed in the series to be based on both. Alucard has been successful at bringing fear and leadership towards the battlefield, much combat experience to both humans and the supernatural, and his blood aborbaption allows to have the powers and memories from his prey.

This is all in account with adding their vampire abilities and weaponry. Dio has knives, any street equipment he desires to use, vampiric laser beams, freezing touch, teleportation, flight, his hair can make mind control eating bugs and his famous Stand. Alucard on the other hand, has similar abilities like regan and teleportation, but has much more veristialty in his weapons and abilities. His Casull and Jackal bring the punch in holes of vampires, can shapeshift into ideally anything he wants, can be intangible, has great senses, has a third eye in exposing illusions and far better than humans can see, and has a literal army inside of him.

However, the weaknesses are the big problem we have to talk about. The problem with Dio is that despite him being more powerful, he is very limited in his abilities and range as most of them, like his Stand, require close range. He also has the weaknesses of regular vampire cliches like sun, heat attacks like fire and Hamon, and is very very prideful. If his brain is destroyed completely, he will not be able to heal. Alucard regen is much better than Dio’s regan has shown, yet he over uses it and can still be killed if a perfect shot in his heart is struck or reduced to atoms. Besides that and his wish of dying from human hand to kill his monster image, he has almost no other weaknesses.  And this is where I have to lean towards Alucard, because of him balancing his skills and experience to overcome his weaknesses. Alucard also has some counters of his own like shapeshifting and going intangible to dodge Dio’s freezing touch or mind bugs. Dio could do the same in a way, but remember that the biggest problem is gaining control in long ranges he can not control unlike Alucard.

Dio was very determined to take the win in two turns, but he accidentally activated an AluCARD on the second turn. Round 2 goes to Alucard.

Final Round: The World Vs Level 0/Schrödinger

If there is a major reason why Dio and Alucard are considered as Nick’s Two Strongest Vampires from his Top 10 series, it was their trump cards. Dio’s Stand, The World, and Level 0 with Schrödinger. This has been the deciding factor for the G1s for this very blog, and will be the deciding factor for the actual match itself. This can go either way, and that is the problem because of how very complex the true limits both trump cards can go. Hell, there are about THREE SECTIONS talking about Schrödinger alone in going over the limits and problems with the character. Back on track, Dio’s stand was truly terrifying in being FInal Boss material. Literally stopping time around time may be simple, but the way Dio showed many times is how effective he can do within those five-eleven seconds like getting a freaking road roller is pretty effective. The World has been stated many times to be the same type of stand like Star Platinum who has passive power, speed, and accuracy evenly matched. The World can also apparently steal other stands like he has done with Jonathan and Joseph. With all these abilities, it is no wonder combined with Dio’s speed in how he fought Alucard for his money. So, how does Alucard compare? Well, Level 0 literally gives him an army release in his very soul. All the victims he has consumed in his life as Count Dracula, WW2, and even the events of Hellsing he can summon all at once and use their abilities as his own. He is literally the Night King if given Mega Man copying powers.

In comparing both Level 0 and The World, you think that Dio would be overwhelmed by an army. However… Nerd-Bot and VampyreNVRmore, especially Nerd Bot, have shown that Dio could, WITH MATH!!!! With the fact that Dio can destroy his army even faster than turning into day is a shock factor in how outclass Dio is with his speed. The problem with Level 0 with Alucard is that we never see the full power of the other abilities that he could do with Level and other familiars he copied over centuries of his kill count, and Dio’s power can make sure he can get a fatal blow against Alucard and should get the final round count.

BUT…. Schrödinger is still the big problem, and I have to add him despite the other G1s’ in their respected verdicts on him. The cursed cat boy has both gifted and screwed Alucard in becoming omnipresent even though it cost him his Level 0 form and his familiars. And while it was still eight pages, he still showed enough in more or less master being one with Schrödinger. And this is where I had to add him despite his unknown limits of his abilities, because Alucard literally surviving being erased from existence and controlling Schrödinger is enough for me to add him on here. He has the same problem like Hyper Sonic, but has to be counted still since it happened and reasonably must be included.

And this is where I had to decide the important question: Can Dio kill Alucard with Schrödinger? I have to say… No, Dio can not. Alucard with Schrödinger abilities means he can negate any fatal blows and can also teleport to anywhere he pleases, which I say is a big counter to The World. Because of Alucard having Schrödinger abilities, it means to me that he could in theory say no to any effects that are put on him, like Dio’s Time Stop. This is a high ball theory, but one that could be in Schrödinger’s ability since he has mental control of reality with his body and existence. Even if Alucard could not, he would still be unable to be killed by Dio and would have more ways to finish the fight while avoiding The World at the same time.

Dio’s The World was so close to stopping time and the heart of the Count and his army in getting the win, but that damn cat sealed the final move into checkmate. The Final Round goes to Alucard.

Overall: What should have been an easy stomp and highly requested matchup turned out to be probably one of the closest matches so far in the 10 year season of Death Battle. Dio Vs Alucard was a fight to see which vampire in going all out truly earns the title as Fiction’s strongest vampire. This fight can go either way and even I am unsure of the outcome of this complex fight. However, when looking at the pros and cons including their weaknesses, Alucard despite being the punching bag shown to me he just needs one move to get a fatal and gruesome demise. Dio Brando in this whole blog and even the real fight would respectfully earn the win when it comes to his power in stats and stand, but Alucard to me showed he has the tools and abilities to barely give him the win. Dio had power of time, stats, and determination on his side, but Alucard thanks to his endurance, versatile control, and Schrödinger was able to make Dio UnBrando. You could summarize in the end that Hellsing’s ultimate weapons was the Real Fucking Vampire of Fiction.

The Winner is Alucard!!!

Closing Thoughts: Man, I can not believe I am saying this long after completing this blog. It was a blast to do and I am truly honored of becoming a verdict for this blog. Again, big thanks to Mal and the rest of the G1s for letting me into this blog. After returning from my vacation from Florida, next week will be my graduation ceremony so I am excited to start on my degree for graphic designing. I hope to be more creative to make my verdicts better in future blogs. Until then, Stay Awesome Everyone, and have a Happy Halloween.
