Death Battle Predictions: Goku & Vegeta VS Omnimon

“Together they were more than they each were alone. They didn't take away from each other, they added all that they were.”  - Danielle Steel

Goku and Vegeta, the warriors who can form the Advent of Omnipotence from Dragon Ball.

Omnimon, the Royal Knight of Omega, and the fusion of WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon from Digimon.

The bond of allies and friends, perhaps one of the most powerful things in the world. However, what if one were to make use of said bonds, and combine said allies/friends to make something even more powerful?

That is the case with our matchup today. With us giving both sides everything they could possibly have, will Goku and Vegeta be able to triumph over the Digimon, or will Omnimon cut the Saiyans down to size? Let’s find out.

Before We Start…

This is a composite analysis, featuring everything across Dragon Ball history for Goku and Vegeta / Gogeta / Vegito, and everything across Digimon history for Omnimon.

To clarify, the blog title lists Goku and Vegeta as the combatants so that both fusion methods and individual abilities can be factored in. The match will not exclusively be focusing on Gogeta or Vegito. They will also be receiving multiple abilities and equipment that they did not receive in the previous Gogeta VS Vegito blog, such as specific equipment and card abilities.

Background

Goku and Vegeta

“I do not fear this new challenge, rather like a true warrior I will rise to meet it!”

Goku and Vegeta. Universe 7's strongest warriors, and two of the last Saiyans alive after escaping Frieza's destruction of Planet Vegeta. With Goku being raised on Earth, and Vegeta serving as Frieza's underling to avoid death, the two were destined to meet in a fateful encounter on Earth, spurring a rivalry that would last a Saiyan lifetime. With the legend of the Super Saiyan being fulfilled, the power of the gods being attained, new techniques being learned, and tons of power being acquired through lots of hard work, the two would continue to ascend new heights… until a new, powerful threat arrived.

After being brought back to life in the aftermath of the Tournament of Power, Frieza returned to Earth to seek out the Dragon Balls. This time, however, he brought some Saiyan muscle with him: the son of Paragus, Broly, who was capable of overpowering both Goku and Vegeta, even with the duo's godly abilities. And it only got worse when Frieza killed Paragus to trigger Broly's Super Saiyan transformation, forcing Goku and Vegeta to resort to one final trump card: The Fusion Dance.

While Goku and Vegeta individually couldn't defeat the raging Super Saiyan, they could together. Performing the Metamoran Fusion Dance, the two warriors combined to form Gogeta. Now unified as one almighty force, Gogeta faced down Broly in a battle of truly legendary proportions. The land around them, and even the very fabric of time and space broke under the might of their clash. Ultimately, and rather predictably, Gogeta emerged victorious, and even managed to send Frieza packing with his tail between his legs.

But this isn't the only time Goku and Vegeta had to come together in such a way. Across time and space, there have been several instances where the two had to become one. Each time, their might has been a sight to behold.

Backtracking a bit, Gogeta was first called to action when Janemba began to plague the Afterlife. Similarly to his later showing with Broly, the Fusion Warrior was enough to easily trounce Janemba and restore peace to the Afterlife. Later, in another timeline, Gogeta was reborn in the crimson hues of Super Saiyan 4 in order to combat the final Shadow Dragon, Omega Shenron.

Similarly, when the monstrous Buu regained his power and threatened all life with his hunger, Goku and Vegeta were forced to rely on another Fusion method to match the predatorial pink puff-ball’s power. Using the Potara Earrings, the two formed the totally-not-Gogeta Fusion, Vegito. This fusion returned when Zamasu sought to enact his divine justice and eradicate mankind. Bathed in divine azure, Vegito returned and matched the power of the Mad God… although in both instances he didn't actually win, or even finish the fight.

Both Gogeta and Vegito would be called again several times, even being summoned together from across time to aid the Time Patrol in several battles to decide the fate of the entire multiverse. And in a more low stakes affair, when two young warriors wished for a tournament that spanned time and space, Goku and Vegeta used the power of EX-Fusion to achieve several different fusions that totally aren't either legally distinct Gogeta/Vegito or canon fanfiction. They even partook in the supremely powerful 5 Way Fusion.

Omnimon

“Wargreymon...and MetalGarurumon... they digivolved together to become ‘OMNIMON!’”

The Digital World. A remarkable place, parallel to our own universe, teeming with all sorts of Digimon from small to huge, of all sorts of varieties. While some may want to live their lives in peace, other Digimon seek to wreak havoc, take over, and perform all sorts of heinous acts that could potentially threaten the entire Digital World. And when that happens, there's only one group of Digimon that are up to the task of protecting the fate of everyone: The Royal Knights. Founded by the powerful Imperialdramon: Paladin Mode, and serving the godly King Drasil, each of these thirteen Mega Level Digimon boasts incredible power far beyond that of any normal Mega Level. However, there are two miraculous exceptions: Alphamon… and Omegamon, or as most know him: Omnimon.

Omnimon isn't exactly like your average Royal Knight. While most Digimon lines have a straightforward evolution path, the Royal Knights included, Omnimon wasn't evolved from a single Digimon, but rather, two of them. WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, powerful heroes of the Digital World. However, when their battles to protect the Digital World became too much for even them to handle, their will to keep fighting, as well as the wills of everyone wishing for hope, the living embodiment of a miracle was born, as the two would DNA Digivolve to Omnimon, allowing for the heroes to win the battle with this incredibly powerful warrior on their side. In some cases, Omnimon even fought against Yggdrasil himself, in continuities where the Digimon god goes rogue, seeking to harm humanity or other denizens of the Digital World.

Fusion Methods

Goku and Vegeta

Metamoran Fusion

The Metamoran Fusion Dance is a special technique created by the Metamoran people. A dance that two warriors can perform which allows them to merge together into one superior warrior. Goku learnt this technique from some Metamorans he met on the Other World. Although there was some reluctance on Vegeta's end, he and Goku use the Fusion Dance to merge into the powerful warrior Gogeta.

When performed correctly, the resulting fusion is one several times stronger than the sum of its parts. But if there are any mistakes, a far weaker fusion is the result. The fusees must have equal power levels, and must perform the dance perfectly, down to the exact detail. Failure to do so will result in a skinny or fat fusion that has even less power than the individual users. This fusion has a time limit of 30 minutes, which can decrease with extensive energy use.

Potara Fusion

Through the use of special earrings worn by all Supreme Kais, two warriors can fuse together. If the fusees are Kais, the Fusion will be permanent. If not, it will have a time limit of 1 hour, though this decreases if the fusion uses too much energy.

Potara Fusion combines the powers, appearances and abilities of its fusees in order to create something far stronger than the sum of its parts. It is stated to be stronger than the Metamoran Fusion, but that's a question we've answered in another blog.

EX-Fusion

An unnatural fusion created by Capsule Corporation. It is designed as a way to combine the strength of both Metamoran and Potara Fusion. The fusees must both wear a Metamo-Ring and perform the Fusion Dance. The result is similar to Potara Fusion, combining the appearance of the fusees. And unlike Metamoran Fusion, the fusees do not have to be similar in height or power level.

According to Bulma, EX-Fusion is meant to add the power of Potara Fusion to Metamoran Fusion. Arguably the greatest strength of this fusion method is that it lacks a time limit. The Fusion can remain active for an indefinite amount of time, and can be undone at any time by removing the Metamo-Ring.

5 Way Fusion

A variant of the Metamoran Fusion created by the Ginyu Force, thanks to their skill with sick dance moves. This allows multiple people to perform the Fusion Dance to form a much more powerful Ultra Fusion. This is possibly one of if not the most powerful Fusion method. But as a trade off, it has by far the shortest time span of any fusion, only lasting a few seconds.

Omnimon

Jogress Evolution/DNA Digivolution

DNA Digivolution, AKA “Jogress Evolution”, is a form of Digivolution that occurs when two Digimon merge their coding together, creating a new Digimon that’s significantly stronger than the sum of its parts. Omnimon specifically is created from the merge of the Digimon WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon. It should be specified that while in the popular Digimon Adventures anime, Omnimon had a time limit, most WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon who fuse through this method can maintain their fusion indefinitely, and/or dissolve it at will.

Equipment

Goku & Vegeta

Time Patrol Armband

An armband that Goku and Vegeta have worn during their service of the Time Patrol. It both allows them to scan for Dragon Balls in the surrounding area, and grants them another method of time traveling.

Hero Switch

A special device created by Xeno Trunks and Leggings. It is a bracelet-like device that essentially acts as a bridge between the real world and the world of the Dragon Ball Heroes video game. It can allow a person to enter the world of the game, and take on the appearance and powers of their avatar. It also works the opposite way, allowing one to access the power of their avatar in the real world. While not outright stated, it is likely that the Hero Switch is what allows the use of DBH cards in the real world, allowing the user to summon various Dragon Ball characters.

Card Abilities

Various Dragon Ball Heroes cards have depicted Gogeta and Vegito with a variety of special effects in battle. Thus they will be given the following abilities:

Gogeta

Vegito

Equippable Skills

In Dragon Ball Heroes World Mission, Goku and Vegeta are capable of equipping a variety of different skills. These equips can range from basic status-inducing effects to techniques that neither is normally physically capable of.

Miscellaneous Items

  • Power Pole: A magic staff owned by Goku. It can extend and retract to lengths as long as the moon.

  • Senzu Beans: Magic beans grown by Korin. They're highly versatile and useful consumables that can instantly restore a person to their natural peak. Any injuries or illnesses will be healed, fatigue will be washed away, ki and energy reserves will be restored, and one Senzu Bean is enough to feed a normal person for 10 days… although a Saiyan's metabolism is faster, so they don't really get that last benefit. Goku tends to carry a supply of Senzu Beans on him, which he can eat or give to allies and sometimes enemies if they need a boost after a battle.

  • Time Patrol Items: The Xeno versions of Goku and Vegeta have access to the various capsules that can be purchased in Conton City by the Time Patrol. Energy and Regen recover HP. Power and Aura capsules recover Ki and stamina. Antidote capsules can also cure poison or illnesses. The effectiveness of these capsules does depend on the variant used, but the best capsules, the Z variants, typically recover what they are meant for. In the Xenoverse games, you can also carry a total of ninety-nine capsules of each different variant.

  • Budokai/Tenkaichi Capsules: The player character can also equip Goku and Vegeta with various support capsules in the Budokai games. These range from stat buffs, reduced ki consumption, or shields that can deflect minor ki attacks.

  • PP Candy: A candy Goku has access to, where if someone were to eat the candy and another person were to whistle “Pii-Pii” shortly after, the eater proceeds to uh… let’s just say they need to use the bathroom a lot for the next month.

Key Sword

No, this isn't Kingdom Hearts (well, probably not). The Key Sword is a powerful item created by the Gods designed to counter and seal away the Demon Realm. In addition to its potent abilities of sealing and countering demonic threats, the Key Sword also gives its user resistances against darkness. Both Goku and Vegeta have wielded this powerful blade, so it stands to reason that any fusion of them could also wield the power of the Key Sword.

The Key Sword is an absurdly powerful blade capable of numerous abilities thanks to the various powers its been bestowed:

Omnimon

Digicore

A “digicore” is a Digimon’s core code and/or inner spirit. As long as this core coding exists, a Digimon can reform or modify their outer body at any time.

Cape

That cape Omnimon wears isn't just for show, but also a powerful and versatile equipment he can use, being capable of reflecting powerful blasts from all sorts of Digimon, and even being useful for hiding an upcoming attack.

Miscellaneous Game Items

In games like Digimon Cyber Sleuth, Omnimon should have access to various digital items obtainable by human partners like Nokia. These include:

  • HP Capsules/Spray: Heals the user

  • SP Capsules/Spray: Recovers stamina points

  • Poison recovery: Heals the poison status effect

  • Panic recover: Heals the confusion status effect

  • Paralysis recovery: Heals the paralysis status effect

  • Stun recovery: Heals the stun status effect

  • Bug recovery: Heals transmutation

  • Items that grant various stat buffs to Omnimon and stat debuffs to enemies

Abilities

Goku and Vegeta

Martial Arts Skill

Being extremely experienced and talented fighters, both Goku and Vegeta are expert martial artists. Goku was trained in the Turtle School style by Roshi when he was a child, and Vegeta practiced against numerous opponents throughout his galactic travels. Both are capable of deducing weaknessing and coming up with tactics on the fly, and both can perform a variety of techniques.

(FighterZ was a great game am I right)

  • Rock, Scissors 'N' Paper: Goku shouts "Jan Ken" followed by either "Gu", "Chyoki" or "Pa". Followed by either a punch, a poke to the eyes, or an open palm strike respectively.

  • Super God Fist: Goku charges Ki in his hand and delivers a powerful punch

  • Double Axe Handle: Goku cups his hands together and then slams them into his opponent.

  • Pressure Point Attacks: An attack that targets specific weak points in an opponent. By striking these specific points, one can stun, paralyze or even kill an opponent.

  • Headshot: A deceptively simple attack where Goku flicks his opponents forehead. Which, given his immense strength, is enough to send most people flying.

  • Super God Shock Flash: A powerful punch to the gut that can launch an opponent away with a powerful shockwave (not the universe shaking kind).

  • Grudgeless Strike: Goku moves around at a rapid speed before launching himself at an opponent and delivering a powerful punch to the face.

  • Godly Strike: A powerful upside down strike.

  • Dragon Throw: Goku grabs one of his opponents limbs and spins them around before throwing them away.

  • Full-Nelson: Goku grabs his opponent from behind, restricting their movement and allowing others to attack.

  • Dragon Flash Fist: Goku charges forward and delivers an overhead punch. He can also perform a downward kick called Dragon Flash Kick.

  • Flurry Kick: Goku propels himself up with a flurry of kicks.

  • Super Dash Kick: Similar to Goku's Dragon Flash Fist, Vegeta charges forward and delivers a kick.

  • Divine Void Strike: Goku charges forward and strikes an opponent with his elbow.

  • Crushing Knee Kick: A rising knee strike Vegeta can perform.

  • Interceptor Kick: A downward kick Vegeta performs from the air.

  • Deadly Knee Drop: Vegeta positions himself above his opponent and slams down on them with a double knee drop.

  • On a scale of one to ten, I'll give you a three!: Vegeta grabs his opponent by the face and slams them into the ground.

  • I have no use for Saiyans that can't move: Vegeta grabs his opponent by the legs and throws them up into the air.

  • Final Blow: Vegeta launches himself at an opponent and quickly delivers a powerful strike to the stomach.

  • Final Strike: An unblockable attack that Vegeta can use to send an opponent flying.

  • Ignite Strike: A powerful strike that Vegeta uses in Super Saiyan Blue.

Gogeta

(FighterZ gives a lot of random things names, huh)

  • Soul Strike: A fearsome charging knee attack that can lead into another knee attack and a dropkick.

  • Rising Vortex: Gogeta does a charging somersault jump that damages from all angles.

  • Multiplex Afterimage: Gogeta creates two after images that can do specific Ki attacks.

  • Punisher Drive: Gogeta charges towards his opponent in a blinding flash like he did Janemba, dealing multiple hits in the blink of an eye.

  • Saiyan Kick: An upward kick that can be followed up with an axe kick called Head Crusher, or a low sweep called Leg Breaker.

  • Lightning Hammer: Gogeta rushes towards his opponent and lands a strong gut punch.

  • Meteor Strike: A rushing overhead kick.

  • Ultimate Impact: Gogeta charges forward at the opponent in a ridiculous blitz, coming from forward, then to behind, to deliver a literally explosive kick.

  • Comet Strike: Gogeta lunges forward and delivers three devastating gut punches to the opponent.

Vegito

Vegito GIF - Vegito GIFs

(Credit to the FighterZ Wiki, again)

  • Spiral Heel Shot: Vegito does two roundhouse kicks in quick succession, and if the first kick hits, he does a flurry of kicks instead of the second roundhouse.

  • Atomic Buster: Vegito leaps towards the opponent and grabs them before tossing them in the direction he came from.

  • Complete Shot: Vegito delivers two gut punches to his opponent before uppercutting their chin and kicking them away. Vegito chases after them and punches them again in the stomach before roundhouse kicking them away.

  • Vegito Combination: Vegito delivers a flying kick followed by a rapid barrage of downward punches and uppercuts before finishing with a drop kick and a knee to the ground.

  • Savage Strike: Vegito teleports above his opponent and covers his fist in blue aura before delivering a devastating punch to the opponent, knocking them into the ground.

Ki Manipulation

As with all living beings in Dragon Ball, Goku and Vegeta are both capable of using Ki, the natural life energy within all things. They can sense the Ki of others, and with Ki, fly, create powerful auras and barriers, create energy clones, shoot Ki blasts out of any part of their body, speak telepathically with others, read minds, move objects with telekinesis, create energy rings to bind opponents, and perform a variety of different attacks and techniques.

Gogeta

Vegito

God Ki

God Ki is the unique type of Ki only used by angels and Hakaishins. But throughout the course of the series, both Goku and Vegeta have learned how to access this Ki and use it in their transformations, techniques, and for other actions.

Instant Transmission

Through the use of Ki Control, both Goku and Vegeta can perform Instant Transmission to instantaneously travel distances ranging from a few meters to light years away. They can use it to travel to places like the Other World, and even travel to dimensions separated from the flow of time, like the Crack of Time. They perform this by placing two fingers on their forehead and locking onto someone's Ki signature, allowing them to instantly teleport to that person's location.

Hakai

Both Goku and Vegeta are capable of using destruction energy and forming it into the technique known as Hakai. This attack can erase someone’s very soul from existence, even their soul, and will destroy everything it touches.

Spirit Fission

A technique utilized by Vegeta through Spirit Control. By inflicting damage to an opponent at either long or short range, Vegeta can separate energy from them and manipulate it. This technique can be used to return energy an opponent has absorbed, or to undo a Fusion. However this technique needs to actually hit the opponent for it to activate, limiting its usefulness if the enemy can avoid the user’s attacks.

Resistances

Omnimon

Flight

(To infinity…and BEYOND!)

Flight. Duh.

Supreme Cannon

A powerful weapon born from MetalGarurumon's power, the Supreme Cannon can fire off all sorts of attacks, ranging from freezing ice beams, to highly explosive blasts capable of annihilating hundreds of enemy Mega Level Digimon.

Transcendent Sword

An almighty weapon born from WarGreymon's power, the Transcendent Sword is capable of cutting through nearly anything, and even capable of reflecting projectiles on a massive scale. It can also produce massive sword beams and fiery explosions.

Weapon Swapping

Omnimon is capable of altering the weapons of his arms at will, being able to make use of both the Transcendent Sword and Supreme Cannon, and his Alter-S form's Supreme Sword and Transcendent Cannon. He can even dual wield either weapon type on an instant to suit the situation at hand.

Brave Shield Omega

The Brave Shield Omega, derived from WarGreymon's Brave Shield, is set on Omnimon's left shoulder over the WarGreymon arm. It can act as a small shield to deflect attacks, or even summon an even bigger version to block powerful attacks.

Dimensional Travel

Omnimon has the ability to communicate and travel between alternate dimensions and time periods. He often uses the ability to aid others in traveling from the human world to the digital world or vice versa. His Transcendent Sword can even rip open rifts in space.

Grace Cross Freezer

From both his right arm and shoulder pad, Omnimon is capable of firing off a massive barrage of missiles at his foe much like MetalGarurumon, with said missiles having the capability of freezing foes in ice.

All Recover

From his Transcendent Sword, Omnimon unleashes a massive wave of energy to restore any destruction in his wake, even being capable of restoring the Digital and Real Worlds when both are on the verge of complete erasure from existence.

All Delete

An ability that allows Omnimon to erase things from existence either from contact with the Transcendent Sword, or in a massive AOE blast that can consume nearly everything. While Omnimon has only been seen using the attack in his X form, considering he has access to its counterpart All Recover in his base form, it's reasonable to consider he should be able to use All Delete in base as well.

Regeneration

As a digital being, Omnimon’s main body is simply a digital wireframe, lacking normal internal organs. Because of that he can be impaled, lose body parts or be sliced apart without the damage being fatal. Omnimon is also resistant to having his own data rewritten.

Miscellaneous Attack Abilities

Omnimon also has a couple of lesser-known attack abilities. In addition, Omimon should also be capable of using the abilities of WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, as they make up his fusion.

WarGreymon

MetalGarurumon

Inheritable Skills (Cyber Sleuth)

In Cyber Sleuth, there’s numerous inheritable skills and attacks that versions of Omnimon can potentially learn. For example:

  • Texture Blow: Turns an opponent into a digital dot.

  • Gu-Rei Tou: Turns Omnimon’s left arm into a katana, and strikes with a multi-hit and long-range attack.

  • Holy Flame: Strikes the opponent with light energy that erases their form.

  • Apocalypse: Calls down energy bolts from the heavens to strike opponents.

  • Hermit Fog: Sprays forth a cold mist that corrodes anything it touches.

  • Starlight Explosion: Causes it to rain golden grains that causes an explosion of light.

  • Life Force: Generates a wonderful energy that absorbs the enemy's life force.

  • Shadow Wing: Unleashes a vacuum blade at super-speed.

  • Arctic Blizzard: Momentarily brings the surrounding atmosphere to absolute zero.

  • Forbidden Temptation: Destroys the opponent's data in a shower of rose petals.

  • Final Aura: Greatly heals all allies.

  • Character Reversal: Turns resistances into weaknesses and vice versa by manipulating the characteristics of the opponent.

  • Rosy Cradle: Summons a storm of sleep-inducing rose petals.

  • Fascination: Enthralls an opponent and steals its life-force.

  • Giga Blaster: A lightwave explosion that is an enhanced version of "Electro Shocker" which will annihilate anyone it hits.

  • Heaven's Gate: Opens a gate to a sealed dimension from which there is no escape, consigning the foe to oblivion.

  • Strike of the Seven Stars: Creates seven superheated balls of light at an opponent.

  • Testament: Uses the deepest mystery to convert its mortal life into a new Big Bang.

Sub-Skills (Re-Arise/Next Order)

Omnimon can also equip “attack skills” in the game Digimon Re-Arise. This includes various elemental attacks, status effects like Sleep, Blind, Paralysis, and Poison or debuffs to Attack/Defense. Digimon Next Order also has similar Sub-Skills.

Resistances

  • Temporal, Spiritual and Physical Existence Erasure: Due to carrying the X-Antibody, Omnimon is immune to the effects of Yggdrasil’s X-Program, which was used to erase the Digital World's entire population from existence across multiple time periods. All Recover is also capable of rebuilding the Digital World’s physical matter and space/time if destroyed. On top of that, base Omnimon has survived Abbadomon Core's erasure as well.

  • Power Nullification: Resists having his abilities sealed by other attacks or effects. (「◎特殊能力なし」にされない = Cannot lose its special abilities)

  • Poison, Paralysis, Transmutation, and Mind Manipulation: Omimon should scale to numerous bosses in Digimon Cyber Sleuth, who have resistance to these status effects.

  • Time Manipulation: As Omnimon is capable of traversing between time periods and resetting Digital World timelines, he’s immune to changes in his own personal timeline. Omnimon, the Royal Knights and Yggdrasil should also be superior to the Digimon Clockmon, who manages time/space and can use time manipulation powers on his opponents.

  • Absolute Zero: Omnimon should be able to withstand temperatures of absolute zero, given both MetalGarurumon and Merciful Mode have attacks that hit at that temperature.

  • Heat: Omnimon should share the Agumon line's natural resistance to heat-based attacks.

  • BFR: Omnimon is capable of traveling between time periods and alternate dimensions on his own power, allowing him to counter most forms of dimensional entrapment.

Forms

Goku and Vegeta

Kaioken

Goku Kaioken render 7 by Maxiuchiha22 on DeviantArt

The Kaio-ken technique was a technique taught to Goku by the Northern Kai. With it, Goku is capable of directly multiplying all of his stats. This can range from a mere two times increase, to a twenty times one. The Kaio-ken can also be stacked with all of the various Super Saiyan forms to further increase power. However, the further the use of Kaio-ken, the more stamina and energy drained from the user. This issue only gets worse when using higher variations of the technique, or when combining it with other forms.

Traditional Super Saiyan Forms

Over the years, Goku and Vegeta have obtained many different variants of the golden Super Saiyan form. Each variant with different details.

  • Super Saiyan: The iconic original Super Saiyan form, this form turns the user’s hair gold and offers a fifty times power increase to all stats. Though it can occasionally be a bit draining on stamina occasionally.

  • Super Saiyan Grade 2: An enhanced state of Super Saiyan that both Saiyans are capable of achieving, the form offers even more of an increase than Super Saiyan does, though the stamina issue is also slightly worse.

  • Super Saiyan 2: The next stage in Super Saiyan evolution, Super Saiyan 2 offers a one hundred times increase to all base stats.

  • Super Saiyan 3: The final traditional Super Saiyan form, Super Saiyan 3 offers a four hundred times increase to all base stats at the cost of a more significant stamina issue than previous forms.

Golden Great Ape

By absorbing a sufficient amount of blutz waves, the Saiyans can ascend to the Golden Great Ape form. The form is very powerful, just as strong as Super Saiyan 4 in fact, but it comes at the cost of a huge exploitable size and lack of mental control.

Super Saiyan 4

Goku and Vegeta SSJ4 LR by anthony123ytb on DeviantArt

By achieving complete mental control whilst in the Golden Great Ape state, one can achieve the form of a Super Saiyan 4. This state is just as strong as the Golden Great Ape form, but also has no mental drawbacks. Serving as a condensed version of the Great Ape’s power, the form awakens the dormant power of the Saiyan. It also somehow turned Goku into an adult when he was in his child form.

Super Saiyan God

John on Twitter: "LR [Infinite Power God Warriors] Super Saiyan God Goku & Super Saiyan God Vegeta HQ Art + Transparent Character Art #DBZDokkanBattle #DokkanBattle https://t.co/DodiEPLuLi" / Twitter

The first step in godhood for the Saiyans, Super Saiyan God is MASSIVELY stronger than the initial three golden forms. While it has no specified multiplier increase, it is clear that the gap is enormous compared to previous forms. With a shining red aura and God Ki, it lets Goku contend with the God of Destruction Beerus. For comparison, in Super Saiyan 3, Goku stood no chance against him.

Super Saiyan Blue

The next step in the Super Saiyan evolution, by combining the God Ki of the Super Saiyan God form with the regular Super Saiyan form, one can achieve Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan… which is a mouthful, so most people just call it Super Saiyan Blue. Logically, considering the form is achieved by the combination of Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan, the latter’s fifty times increase should apply to Super Saiyan God’s already impressive power.

Super Saiyan Blue Evolution

Super Saiyan Blue Evolution Vegeta Dokkan Render 2 by PrinceofDBZGames on DeviantArt

By breaking his limits during the Tournament of Power, Vegeta was able to access this powerful form. The form is an evolution of the normal Super Saiyan Blue state, letting Vegeta match Goku’s Blue Kaio-ken. It is also worth mentioning that when used by Gogeta, the form could theoretically be some sort of combination between Blue Evolution and Ultra Instinct, based on Gogeta saying the form was the result of Goku and Vegeta training in their Ultra Instinct and Blue Evolved forms in the DBS Heroes manga, but there is no confirmation of this, nor is there confirmation about the form having any Ultra Instinct related properties.

Super Saiyan Blue Berserk

By gaining control over possessive Dark Ki, Vegeta was able to utilize it effectively to increase his power, ascending to the state. With Super Saiyan Blue Berserker, Vegeta is massively stronger than he normally is with Super Saiyan Blue, being comparable to even beings like Ultra Instinct Goku. He is also able to resist the distinct powers of Dark Ki, though has not used any of the abilities of Dark Ki offensively.

Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker

Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker | Dragon Ball Wiki | Fandom

Xeno Goku and Vegeta originally obtained this form by having Ki bestowed to them by Xeno Trunks, Pan, and CC Goku and Vegeta. Instead of the normal Super Full Power Saiyan 4 form however, the two Saiyans gained a pinkish tint and completely red hair. This form is massively stronger than normal Super Saiyan 4, letting Gogeta slap around Time Power Unleashed Fu without too much difficulty.

Ultra Instinct

By surpassing his limits and reaching the levels of the Gods, Goku is able to ascend to this incredible state. The form can be draining on stamina to maintain (Even being nearly fatal the first time Goku used it), though Goku has reduced this issue overtime. The benefits far outway the downsides, however. With Ultra Instinct, Goku is capable of dodging any incoming danger without actually having to react, his body dodging instinctually. This improves his fighting skill to an absurd degree, letting him blitz past opponents of even relative speed to him. It also improves his offense greatly, with him not having to concentrate on that aspect of battle either.

Since his acquisition of the form, Goku has further expanded on it and its powers, also achieving a state known as True Ultra Instinct. While this variant has a much lesser emphasis on dodging, its offensive capabilities are far greater due to letting Goku utilize his emotions. With the form Goku is also capable of reversing damage, taking the enemy’s hit and counter attacking literally twice as hard.

Ultra Ego

Obtained through training with the God of Destruction Beerus, Vegeta achieved his own counterpart to Ultra Instinct. Ultra Ego is the antithesis of Ultra Instinct, being equal to Ultra Instinct in power but with Vegeta instead actually desiring to take hits. The hits he takes actually end up fueling his power, making him stronger overtime. Though he is not invincible and can be knocked out if he takes too much damage.

Yes this form’s properties sound a lot like True Ultra Instinct, it’s dumb and we agree it’s dumb.

Omnimon

Alter-S

A new transformation born from the fusion of sub variants of WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon called BlitzGreymon and CresGarurumon. This form adds much more power, while also providing new weapons for Omnimon to use. Base Omnimon is capable of accessing this form via “Slide Evolution”, and can even perform an incredibly strong attack as he's in the middle of changing forms.

Omnimon X

A form Omnimon gained after he was given the “X-Antibody” by fellow Royal Knight Alphamon. The X-Antibody grants immunity to the Digimon god Yggdrasil’s Digital World existence-erasing program. It also grants a general boost in power and new abilities. In the event that the user were to die, the X-Antibody is also capable of reviving them. Finally this form also gives Omnimon access to the ability Omega inForce, a form of precognition, allowing him to predict and react to attacks from opponents before they happen. It’s even effective against Alpha inForce used by Alphamon, a form of causality manipulation.

Merciful Mode

A rather unique form of Omnimon's, Merciful Mode is used to impose judgements on corrupt beings with good hearts. In other words, it's used to mercy kill people, hence the name. It should be noted that while this form was accessed in Digimon Adventure tri. via Omnimon performing a fusion with six other specific Digimon (Hououmon, Rosemon, HerculesKabuterimon, Vikemon, Seraphimon, and Magnadramon), Omnimon (or even WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon) in other media have been able to access/fuse into this form without the need of other Digimon. With such grand power, the form is capable of some unique attacks:

Cosmology

Dragon Ball Heroes and Dragon Ball Xenoverse have at least 76,434,925,761 main timelines recorded by the Supreme Kai of Time in the Scrolls of Eternity. It’s noted that officially-recorded timelines in Heroes are finite, but there are additional lesser peripheral timelines that are implied to be infinite. Additionally, Dragon Ball Heroes cosmology contains the Crack of Time, a dimension located outside normal time/space. There are also lesser realms that exist outside the normal flow of time like the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Demon Realm, and Towa’s time-spaces, though all are still loosely connected to individual timelines.

Cosmology

Digimon’s cosmology consists of an infinite number of Human universes paired with an infinite number of Digital universes spread across an infinite number of timelines. Most of the Digital Worlds in various Digimon series are also stated to be in higher dimensions than their Human World counterparts. Some items even imply Digital Worlds have at least 24 higher dimensions within them (24次元の実 = 24-Dimensional Reality). Finally, both the Digital and Human Worlds have lower dimensionality than the dimension the Mother Eater came from in Digimon Cyber Sleuth, with said dimension being above all Human and Digital Worlds across the multiverse.

Weaknesses

Goku and Vegeta

A crippling flaw with most of Goku and Vegeta's fusion methods is that they all have a strict time limit (30 minutes for the Fusion Dance, and an hour for the Potara Fusion), which can even be worn down much faster by using too much power. While the Metamo-Ring and EX Fusion Dance in tandem can allow for the Fusion Dance method to be permanent, without them, the two would be forced to fight on the time limit. And of course, if they mess up the Fusion Dance, it'll result in a penalty of the two being stuck in a horribly weak fusion for 30 minutes, effectively a death sentence in a fight unless they get really lucky with their foe. And while Goku and Vegeta are definitely capable on their own, their peaks are much lower than their respective Fusions. And while they have plenty of healing and stamina recovery items, as well as impressive stamina feats in the Dragon Ball Heroes canon, their stamina and Ki supplies do have limits.

Omnimon

As incredibly powerful as Omnimon is, he's certainly not invincible, as a few foes of extraordinary power have managed to overpower him in some series (Mainly in the original Adventure timeline), in particular Armageddonmon and Eosmon (Mega), with lethal damage being capable of leading to a de-fusion back to Agumon and Gabumon, who usually end up too weak to keep fighting on their own as a result. Omnimon also does not have infinite stamina, despite his virtual body letting him heal from major wounds, and can be worn down overtime.

Summary

Goku and Vegeta

“I am neither Goku nor Vegeta, I am the one who will destroy you!"

Advantages:

  • Superior in fighting skill with better training

  • Generally has a larger amount of unique skills and abilities

  • With equips like Infinite Energy Reactor, plenty of stamina recovering card abilities, stamina recovery capsules, as well as very impressive stamina feats in general, could potentially be able to outlast Omnimon

  • Summoning characters via cards gives a numbers advantage

  • Using the Key Sword to rewind themselves through time can both remove the issue of their Fusion timer and undo any negative status effects…

  • Able to resist the majority of Omnimon’s hax…

  • Badass vest

  • GO-GETA, GO-GETA, GO-GETA, GO-GETA, GO-GETA, GO-GETA, GO-GETA, GO-GETA

Disadvantages:

  • …but rewinding time in such a manner is something they have never done

  • Much weaker with dimensional tiering

  • Omnimon resists a majority of Goku and Vegeta’s abilities

  • All Recover nullifies any status affects Goku and Vegeta can inflict

  • Likely can’t survive All Delete, as it works on a much larger, thorougher, and more destructive scale than Hakai

  • …however, moves like Character Reversal also negate resistances all together, likely making them susceptible to All Delete, absolute zero, and so on

  • Ultra Instinct is likely worse than Omega inForce in terms of precognition

  • Fusion methods are normally more difficult to both achieve and maintain

  • Next official episode is literally having them kill themselves

  • Professor X mind hax

Omnimon

"I am Omnimon. I was summoned by the pure bond of friendship."

Advantages:

  • Higher arguments for attack potency with dimensional tiering

  • Able to resist or resist the majority of Goku and Vegeta’s abilities, including power null, time manipulation, existence erasure, general status effects, etc, with All Recover being able to undo any effects that do actually work

  • All Delete works on a much larger, thorougher, and more destructive scale than Hakai, making it unlikely Goku and Vegeta can resist it

  • Omega inForce precog is likely superior to Ultra Instinct, is less strenuous to use, and can even function against causality manipulation

  • Abilities like Character Reversal negates any resistances Goku and Vegeta have to his attacks

  • Fusion methods are easier to utilize and maintain

  • Omnimon’s digital body can withstand hits or injuries that would normally be fatal for an organic being, allowing him to keep fighting even while injured

  • Badass cape

  • Defeated racism

Disadvantages:

  • Far inferior in fighting skill and not as well-trained

  • Less versatile abilities overall

  • Inferior stamina as well as inferior methods of stamina recovery

  • At a numbers disadvantage due to card summons

  • Dub name is too similar to Omni-Man

  • Got sidelined from getting on the actual show both by his opponent and… also his opponent

Verdict

Stats

When combined into one powerful fusion, Goku and Vegeta certainly scale to the strongest characters in Dragon Ball Heroes. This would include beings such as Mechikabura, who sucked up the entire time stream into himself, or characters like Chamel whose mere presence was going to destroy the entire cosmology. This would include places above time such as the Crack of Time. As Gogeta or Vegito in forms such as SFPS4 LB or Ultra Instinct, the upscaling from someone on Chamel’s level of power would be absolutely ludicrous.

There are also additional realms in Dragon Ball Heroes’ cosmology, including the Dark Demon Realm and Towa’s private time-spaces. However, these realms existing above the traditional multiverse is unlikely. The Dark Demon Realm can be seen through traditional Time Scrolls despite being stated to be sealed off from time, likely meaning it is just connected to the main multiverse in the same way that the Time Nest in Heroes is connected to Universe 7l disconnected from time’s normal flow, but still existing within the normal cosmology all the same. The same deal applies with Towa’s personal time-spaces; they are disconnected from time’s normal flow but do not seem to operate outside of the primary multiverse.

Even if you attempt to count those additional realms onto Dragon Ball Heroes’ existing cosmology, the most you would get is three layered spaces above the primary infinite multiverse; 6th Dimensional if you want to be very lenient with Dimensional Tiering. While this certainly seems impressive, Digimon’s cosmology is simply far superior.

Not only does Digimon have infinite Human universes across infinite timelines, but each of those infinite Human universes also has coinciding Digital universes, many of which are stated to be higher dimensionally than their human counterparts. Some games likewise imply that Digital Worlds themselves have dozens of dimensional layers, and in the game Cyber Sleuth, creatures like the Eaters are stated to be from dimensions that transcend both the Human and Digital Worlds across the entire multiverse. Digimon simply has a much larger cosmology when giving both series equal leeway. Meaning characters like Omnimon, King Yggdrasil, or Mother Eater that can destroy large portions or all of that cosmology are more impressive.

Moving on from power, when analyzing the speed of both sides, they actually do come pretty close to one another. Mechikabura’s black hole expanding through all of time without any alternate methods aiding its travel is a solidly immeasurable feat, with characters being able to evade and match his faster attacks. Omnimon’s immeasurable speed scaling is a similar case, with All Delete expanding across the entire Digital World. And as previously established, said Digital World includes numerous infinitely sized spaces across multiple layered dimensions.

That said you could argue that Digimon’s much larger cosmology makes Omnimon’s All Delete technically “more immeasurable” than Mechikabura’s time-space sucking black hole, as the feat requires traversing many more dimensional layers in comparison. Granted, Goku and Vegeta do upscale from the black hole feat, as they eventually surpassed the power of the Vegito who fought Mechikabura when they obtained their SFPS4 LB forms, and would logically be even faster with Ultra Instinct. But cosmology may make upscaling a non-factor.

That said, even if you consider Goku and Vegeta comparable to Omnimon in speed, that speed would be irrelevant regardless, since a single attack would be more than enough for Omnimon to win the battle thanks to his advantage in power.

To summarize, while Goku and Vegeta are arguably comparable in speed, the sheer gap in power between the two sides due to Omnimon’s ridiculous cosmology scaling is a gap the Saiyans cannot compare to no matter what you try to argue for them.

And before anyone says it, no, Beat viewing the Dragon Ball Heroes’ game as fiction does not make everyone in Heroes outerversal. It is confirmed Beat and the rest of his world are just from a further down timeline than the primary canon, and that the game is just them essentially time traveling back into the old world.

Arsenal & Abilities

Thanks to Dragon Ball’s vast series of different video games, amongst other things, Goku and Vegeta have a ginormous arsenal at their fingertips. The combination of their normal Ki abilities, God Ki abilities, Hakai, card abilities, card summons, as well as the mountain of powers that the Key Sword provides, means that they do technically have a larger arsenal than Omnimon does. They also can resist a majority of his abilities’ effects, meaning on paper they are not going to go down to unconventional means.

This situation is just fine for Omnimon, however. While Goku and Vegeta do have plenty of resistances, they do not have a resistance to one of Omnimon’s key abilities: Character Reversal. A power which turns all of the target’s resistances into weaknesses. While Goku and Vegeta could rewind themselves with the Key Sword to undo this effect, that's both an action they have never practiced, as well as time wasted dealing with an attack instead of doing one themselves. Leaving them vulnerable to Omnimon to land a fatal blow in any way he desires. Whether it be with absolute zero or poison, Omnimon has a variety of means to take out the Saiyans once their resistances are removed.

Most notably however, is Omnimon’s most powerful attack: All Delete. As previously established, this attack can expand across the entire layered Digital World which contains multiple infinite spaces. For one, this means the attack itself is completely unavoidable and unstoppable. But in addition to this, the attack serves as existence erasure: being able to completely erase the opponent’s body and soul from existence itself. While on first impression you would think a resistance to Hakai would be enough to counter this, the attack has worked on characters who have resisted existence erasure before (such as other Royal Knights or Yggdrasil). Not to mention it coming from a much more powerful source and having a far larger range than any use of Hakai has ever had in Dragon Ball.

The only thing remotely comparable to All Delete in Dragon Ball would be Zeno completely erasing and annihilating timelines, but not only have the spaces Zeno erased been infinitely below the ones All Delete has been able to destroy, no one in Dragon Ball has actually shown the potency to survive Zeno’s erasure besides Zeno himself. Even if Goku and Vegeta could resist All Delete’s existence-ending effect, they are still far too weak in comparison to Omnimon to survive the attack’s brute force.

Despite Goku and Vegeta being very versatile and well equipped fighters, Omnimon barely needs to dive into his arsenal to find the counters he needs to have the upper hand.

Tertiary Factors

When it comes to stamina and battle smarts, Goku and Vegeta do take a noticeable advantage. Their variety of capsules, card abilities, etc aside, Dragon Ball Heroes has very good showings for the stamina of the Saiyans. With Goku and Vegeta once being able to train for a week straight with no breaks, while in their Ultra Instinct and Super Saiyan Blue Berserker forms respectively no less. This is notable due to forms like these consistently being known for having major stamina drawbacks. Omnimon in comparison does not have feats of stamina of fighting for as long as Goku and Vegeta, and has not received as extensive combat training. Nor does he have as many showings of excellent combat intelligence as someone like Goku.

But when it comes to range, Omnimon has a gigantic advantage. Despite scaling to attacks that have been capable of affecting the entire Dragon Ball Heroes cosmology, neither Saiyan has shown the potency to reach that far themselves. The best feat for attack range they can upscale from would be El Shockwaves. Even supposing Goku and Vegeta’s fusions could match the range shown by characters like Mechikabura and Chamel, as previously established, Omnimon’s All Delete can extend through the entire Digimon cosmology. And as we keep coming back to, said cosmology is far larger than Dragon Ball Heroes’ cosmology, dwarfing any distance Goku or Vegeta have ever needed to cross. Its area-of-effect is simply unavoidable.

So while Goku and Vegeta do have a notable advantage in stamina and smarts, they lack the means to capitalize on this advantage, due to not being able to avoid Omnimon’s strongest attacks at all.

Conclusion

Ultimately, the fight is relatively straightforward. Goku and Vegeta are certainly very strong, with their composite giving them ludicrous versatility in addition to an even higher level of power, but Omnimon simply has all the right tools needed to take this fight cleanly.

Digimon’s far superior cosmology results in Omnimon taking a both clear and massive advantage in terms of power output, easily letting him overpower the Saiyans and land an uncounterable finishing blow. And due to this large advantage in power, Goku and Vegeta potentially having comparable speed might as well be irrelevant.

While Goku and Vegeta certainly have an effective and large array of equipment and abilities, even larger than Omnimon’s own arsenal, the Digimon just has the right tools for the job. He can resist most or straight up just recover from any hax Goku and Vegeta can throw at him with All Recover, and is completely capable of just removing all of Goku and Vegeta’s resistances outright with an ability such as Character Reversal.

To be fair, Goku and Vegeta do have a noticeable advantage in stamina. They can last for weeks in their strongest forms, can rewind stamina loss or injuries with the Key Sword, have card abilities which can help recover their stamina, plenty of capsules that can fully heal their health or stamina, etc. The argument could be made that this one advantage, along with their comparable speed and superior battle smarts, could lead them to trying to evade Omnimon until he becomes exhausted and vulnerable. Unfortunately, All Delete has more than enough range to completely cover Dragon Ball Heroes’ cosmology, meaning Omnimon has an attack that is too big and strong for Goku and Vegeta to defend against in any way. This is also ignoring Omnimon’s superior precognition in addition to All Delete’s power.

In conclusion, while Goku and Vegeta are definitely capable, Omnimon is simply too strong while having all the right tools needed to ensure his victory. Again, the word “Fusion” has no good puns. Among Us VS Fall Guys sweep tbh. The winner is Omnimon.
