Death Battle Predictions: Blake Belladonna VS Mikasa Ackerman

Blake Belladonna, the Faunus Huntress of Team RWBY. Mikasa Ackerman, trained member of the Survey Corps. 

These two were born hated by the world for their race, being classified as devils or animals but they fought against this hatred and rose up and fought for what is right in an unjust and cruel world that always rejected their existence.These two, despite their pasts filled with blood, will always steel themselves and fight with skill, quickness and a duty to fight what is right - even if you have to go against your childhood friend that you cared about oh so long ago. 

Both teen ladies are well-trained, well-experienced and no stranger to bloodshed, but only one will walk away from this clash of blades, bullets and grappling onto objects. Being one of the most requested matchups in the series to date, it is finally time to see these determined soldiers finally clash at last. The only question remains: Who will win this Death Battle?

Considering that Attack on Titan recently had its final chapter just a few weeks ago we are going to keep this very clear. we will be spoiling BOTH Attack on Titan’s very controversial final arc. So, if you are just an anime-only watcher and you do not want to be spoiled, read at your own risk. Likewise, we will also be spoiling a few elements from RWBY Volume 8.

Background

Blake Belladonna

“There's too much wrong in this world to just stand by and do nothing. Inequality, corruption... Someone has to stop it.”

In the world of Remnant, there are two intelligent races inhabiting it: Humans and Faunus. Both races look very similar to one another, but the only difference was that members of the Faunus race each possessed animal traits that distinguish them from humans. While the origins of the Faunus race is unknown, what is known is that the Faunus race has been discriminated against by humans since their early history due to their animalistic traits. The Faunus were either hunted and killed or were put in cages as slaves. Eventually, the Faunus were given equal rights and the continent of Menagerie as compensation for past mistreatment and discrimination.

Despite this historic change, the Faunus were still treated with racial prejudice in many areas of Remnant. In fact, the humans began to countermand Faunus’ rights and tried to confine them within Menagerie. As a result, the Faunus race staged a revolution against the humans known as the Faunus Rights Revolution. This revolution resulted in the Faunus reclaiming their rights as well as the additional right to live within the Four Kingdoms (Atlas, Vale, Mistral, and Vacuo). Even with this major victory, there were still racist treatment and discrimination towards the Faunus in Remnant’s population. To improve relations with the humans and civil rights for the Faunus, the peaceful activist organization known as the White Fang was established.

Blake Belladonna is a cat Faunus born into the White Fang as the daughter of Ghira Belladonna, who was not only the leader of the White Fang at the time but also the chieftain of Menagerie. Following in her father’s footsteps, Blake joined the White Fang and partnered up with her mentor and lover Adam Taurus. When Blake was 12, Ghira stepped down as leader of the White Fang and was succeeded by Sienna Khan. Unhappy with her father’s decision, Blake stayed in the White Fang and effectively ran away from home. However, she later noticed that the once peaceful organization was heading towards a dark and violent road, as shown by Adam becoming increasingly murderhappy in every new mission. Knowing that she couldn’t support the direction the White Fang was heading, Blake abandoned the White Fang after she and Adam raided a train carrying Dust cargo.

Hiding her Faunus heritage, Blake enrolled in Beacon Academy to become a huntress and fight against Faunus injustice her own way. As a Beacon student, Blake became a member of Team RWBY and a partner to Yang Xiao Long. Even though her Faunus heritage was revealed, Blake was still accepted by Team RWBY as their friend and teammate. Together, they disrupted a joint operation between criminal mastermind Roman Torchwick and the White Fang  However, Blake’s past would soon come back to haunt her when her former partner Adam led the White Fang in attacking Beacon Academy during the Fall of Beacon. After being stabbed by Adam and witnessing him cut off Yang’s arm, Blake would leave her teammates out of guilt, shame and fear.

After Beacon Academy fell, Blake would head back to Menagerie to reunite with her parents. With help from Sun Wukong, Blake would discover the White Fang’s plans to destroy Haven Academy. With the assistance of her parents, Sun, and best friend Ilia Amitola, Blake led an army from Menagerie to successfully defend Haven from the White Fang. This also led to Blake reuniting with Team RWBY, joining them as their teammate once again. During Team RWBY’s journey to Atlas, Blake and Yang would have one final battle against Adam Taurus, ending with the two girls killing the psychotic revolutionist once and for all. With her past now behind her, Blake fights alongside Team RWBY and their friends in the war against Salem.

Mikasa Ackerman

“If I win, I live. I can't win unless I fight.”

Survival of the fittest is a status quo that keeps you free in heart, but the cost can sometimes be those you love taken all away in a blink of an eye. For Misaka Ackerman, that is what happened to her in the world of Attack on Titan, where giant meat eating monsters called Titans roam the world and eat humans. Mikasa and her family lived inside the walls of Maria and secretly lived very peacefully…until at the age of 9, her father and mother were murdered in front of her very eyes by human traffickers. Kidnapped because of her bloodline and now being one of the last descendants of the Asian Azumabito Clan, she was helpless and emotionless until her spark was brought back when Eren Yeager came and helped her murdered her captives. After that she lived with Eren and his family for a while and lived happily with their friend Armin. 

But then, in a fucked up Avatar-style twist, everything changed when the Titans attacked Wall Maria. Thanks to the Colossal and Armored Titans, they broke through the wall and let the rest kill or eat everyone in their paths, including Eren’s mother who in her last moments told Mikasa to protect Eren no matter what. In the aftermath of Wall Maria being taken, Mikasa joined the Cadet Corps as the 104th class with Eren and Armin in order to keep her promise and protect Eren and those she loves (which was Eren, but she protected Armin as well). Then in defending Wall Rose with a second attack from the titans, the trio along with the rest of Paradis Island discovered the hard way that shocked the core of the series: Eren became a Titan. Specifically, he was a Titan Shifter, humans capable of turning into Titans while maintaining their intellect. Protecting him as best she could from the soldiers and government of Paradis Island, their lives were spared thanks to the Scouts Regiment and one badass Levi Ackerman (yes, he is Mikasa’s family bloodline and was found out later on). All three of them would join the Scouts soon after. Mikasa would follow in fighting the other titans, help defeat the Female Titan, and support Eren and the rest of the Scouts to discover the origins of Eren’s abilities and take back Wall Maria. 

From there, A LOT has happened that will be shortened to make things easier to understand. Mikasa and the rest of the scouts and Corps 104 discovered the hard way that most of them too were titans like Eren. The Female Titan that got captured was Annie Leonhart, The Armor Titan was Reiner Braun, The Colossal Titan was Berthholdt Hoover (until Armin took the title later and killed him), and others became titans or were government spies that captured Eren a lot. Mikasa helped her teammates in saving Eren and her comrades from using him for their goals. Until the discovery to Eren’s dad’s basement exposed the humans were the Titans all along, and they were not alone in the world. Allies were lost and the shocking realization of the Titans and Eren and Armin’s short lifespans brought emotional distress to Mikasa. The trio and the Scouts soon after prepared for war against the enemies beyond the sea.

Mikasa and the others would fight the nation of Marley and would discover her bloodline ruled Hizuru, with her being the lost lord. Eren gets “captured” again and the Scouts go on the attack to get him back, with one hell of a battle fought when the War Hammer, Cart, and Jaw Titans were brought in from Marley. They lost the fight, but got Eren back only to realize it was Eren’s plan to be captured. To make matters worse, Sasha the Potato Girl got killed by an enemy Marley onboard.

Eren got arrested and judged after his behavior in Marley. Mikasa and Armin tried to defend him, and knew something was wrong. They tried to explain it to the police and chief, but only to barely survive an assinanation attempt and discovered Eren escaped. After catching up with Eren, the shocking reveal was how Eren mostly joined the Yeagerists as their leader, the organization that is responsible for Eren’s escape, and influence over Paradis Eldian where they captured the military. Eren beat up Armin, and held both Armin and Mikasa prisoner. They escaped later, as Eren planned to destroy the world to where only Eldian remains, known as The Rumbling. 

In the final battle, the Survey Corps made an alliance with the Marleyans in order to put an end to the Yeagerists at Fort Salta. Mikasa killed Floch Froster upon their arrival with Annie, and fought hard against Titans to get to Eren. Armin got captured and Mikasa helped save him while fighting the Okapi Titan and Armored Titans. As Eren and Armin fought each other in their Titan forms, Levi and Mikasa blew a hole in Eren’s teeth so Mikasa could get inside. Eren communicated with her to say his goodbyes and confess his feelings towards her before Mikasa promptly beheaded him. Giving one last kiss to his severed head, she said goodbye to the love of her life, ending the war. 

In the aftermath, Yeagerists killed about 80% of the world and had taken over Elidan and renamed it the Elidan Empire. But, Mikasa went back to Paradis Island to make Eren a burial ground under his favorite tree where he napped as a child. Three years after the war, Mikasa returns to Eren’s grave where she mourns her friends joining him soon, but wishes to see him again one last time. She cries as a bird fails to catch the scarf Eren gave to her, warping around her once more. She thanks Eren, putting a conclusion to her journey. 

Equipment

Blake

Gambol Shroud

Blake’s weapon of choice, Gambol Shroud, is classified as a “Variant Ballistic Chain Scythe” with multiple forms. It’s default form is as a katana, which Blake uses with deadly precision. The katana can transform into a kusarigama (sickle) that she can use as a medium range weapon, which she swings around on a durable ribbon. As for long range attacks, it can shift into a glock-like pistol that shoots various types of Dust. The sheath is sharpened, and functions as a cleaver which Blake normally dual-wields along with her weapon in katana form. In its compacted form, Blake is able to swing Gambol Shroud through the air with her ribbon, remotely pulling the trigger of the weapon to manipulate and speed up the blade via recoil.

Dust

No, we're not talking about the stuff that covers all the stuff you haven't touched in years. Dust is a source of energy in Remnant. The physical properties of Dust make it incredibly useful for a variety of purposes, particularly in the weapons of many characters in RWBY. Whether in crystalline or powdered states, Dust always been the tool humanity needed to combat the Creatures of Grimm. In addition, Dust also serves as a power source for the majority of technology in Remnant, from airships to androids. Blake has used Dust to combine with her semblance to create elemental versions of her shadow clones to assist her in battle. Each color represents their own type, and thus have different functions from one another.

• Red: This Dust is weaponized fire, and can be used as fireballs or a way to add fire based attacks to a weapon.

• Orange: This Dust weaponizes rocks. In Blake's case, she can turn her clone into solid rock with this dust. She can also use it as a rock based projectile.

• Bright Orange: More or less the same as red.

• Yellow: This Dust is basically weaponized electricity, which can work as bolts of lightning or ammo for gun based weapons.

• Blue: This Dust weaponizes Ice, both as a projectile and as a weapon attachment, such as ammo. For Blake, she can turn her own Shadow Clones into solid ice. Likewise, it can also create water based attacks as well. When combined with red dust, it can create scorching hot steam.

• Dark Blue: See Blue.

• Light Blue: Take a wild guess.

• Cyan: The rarest kind of Dust which is used to make light based constructs. 

• Purple/Black: This Dust just straight up manipulates gravity, which is fucking insane. While it can be used in combat for mobility, it's often used for public transport.

• White: This Dust weaponizes wind, and can be used for both combat and mobility.

Scroll

A scroll is a holographic tablet that can be collapsed to be carried around more easily. It basically acts as a phone and has many functions a phone normally would, such as calling, texting, and taking and sending photos. It also has other uses and tools, such as a means of identification (5:53), transferring and receiving files (7:21), being able to be used as a gaming controller (7:20), a flashlight (12:23), and more. Most of these functions would be useless in a fight, but it does show one important thing to Blake. A Scroll can be viewed to see how much Aura a user and their allies have left by displaying life bars that represent them (1:23), which can help her decide what type of strategy she should perform next. Blake was given a new scroll in Volume 7 with all the same functions as her old one.

Mikasa

3-Dimensional Maneuver Gear

Standard equipment for any member of the Survey Corps, this gear gives the humans a distinct advantage over their much larger Titan enemies. The maneuverability of the gear takes advantage of the humans’ smaller hitboxes to the larger forms of the titans, like a fly against an ordinary human. The gear is gas powered and comes with holsters for storing anti-Titan swords (see below).

Anti-Personnel Maneuver Gear

Mostly an upgrade to the 3-Dimensional Maneuver Gear, these were given to the Survey Corps and the Scouts after defeating the Military Police Brigade and Kenny Ackerman. This version of the gear mostly goes more aggressive on the opponents and replaces the swords with semi-automatic pistols. While they were originally only used for humans since they are not as open ranged as the 3D Gear, they got a bigger upgrade for the following weapon below and Mikasa combined both gears for better performance. 

Anti-Titan Swords

The swords that are mostly used for slaying titans, these blades come with her vertical maneuvering equipment. They’re very light and are tough enough to pierce the crazy hard skin of Titans. Despite being composed of steel and other rare metals, they can break from extended usage, though upgrades can be made to improve efficiency.  Mikasa also has multiple swords to replace the broken ones (12 replacements at minimum).

Thunder Spears

Mikasa’s greatest weapon. Developed specifically for getting around a Titan’s hardening ability, these bad boys punch through Titan armor like it's made of glass. They’re mostly mini missiles that can almost one shot anything, and can truly cause critical damage to even the strongest of Titans. She can carry eight all at once, and is very accurate with her shots, even better than Hange Zoë, who made the weapons. Though they have a weakness in that they will do significant damage to the user if they are caught in the explosion. As such, Mikasa will often fire them off at a long range and then trigger the explosion rather than getting in close to fire it. 

Abilities

Blake

Aura

Aura is the manifestation of one's soul in RWBY and can be used for a wide range of abilities. With enough practice, Aura is an ability that all those with a soul can use. Those with a soul include humans, Faunus, and even animals. The only exception are the Creatures of Grimm. Ruby Rose is one of the many Huntsmen and Huntresses throughout Remnant capable of using it. The two main uses of Aura are to protect the body from harm and amplify the power of its user. These two effects also apply to any equipment the user may be using as well as enhancing its abilities (5:22).

 

Other uses of Aura include enhanced senses (4:21), the ability to unlock other Auras (6:00), the healing of minor wounds (6:31), triggering Dust, even when it’s far away (11:37), and protection from extreme climate conditions (5:42). Finally, Aura can be projected in a more tangible form by using one’s Semblance. Aura coats the entire body, but it is not automatic (4:01), meaning the user must remain conscious to keep it up. It’s also not limitless and can run out, and different people have different amounts of Aura (6:33). Though, it can regenerate completely after a certain amount of time has passed.

 

Faunus Physiology

As her ears can so easily attest, Blake shares a fair amount of behaviors and traits with cats, given her nature as a Faunus. Namely, her superhuman levels of agility and heightened senses - especially her sight - are byproducts of her Faunus background, allowing her to have perfect vision in the dark and utilize stealth to a far greater degree than her teammates. Also the ears are absolutely adorable.

Shadow

Like many other people in RWBY, Blake possesses a Semblance, a special ability manifested from her Aura. Blake’s Semblance gives her the ability to create clones of herself. They are easily dispatched, but they are perfect for giving her a route of escape or getting the jump on opponents. They also come in several varieties when Blake uses Dust.

• Standard: These clones can act on their own to be used as a distraction. They have no other affects. 

• Fire: When combined with Fire Dust, Blake’s clones will explode on contact, serving as a dangerous trap.

• Ice: Upon contact with a clone infused with Ice Dust, the attacker will find themselves stuck in the solid structure.

• Earth: Stone clones function similar to Ice Clones, but are a lot more durable.

• Lightning: Lightning Dust functions as an emergency dodge, as it temporarily boosts her speed to avoid attacks.

• Violet: Changes Blake's Shadow into a dark haze, lingering longer than her normal clones and blocking people's vision.

Untouchable Beauty

An attack of Blake’s, where she unleashes a slash of energy that rushes at the enemy (akin to a sword beam). Blake is capable of using multiple slashes rapidly, one after the other. She has used this attack in her fight against Torchwick twice (first in the mech, second time one-on-one), though it was not officially named until BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle. The slash is strong enough to shatter her ice clone and tear through steel.

Mikasa

Skilled Martial Artist

Thanks to her time in the Survey Corp, Mikasa has been trained in hand to hand combat in case battles were fought from inside the walls. Mikasa was so skilled in combat, she can throw grown men like Renier in the air at ease, and keep up with pros like Annie Leonhart. 

Skilled Swordsmanship

Like any Scout, Mikasa has trained for countless hours in order to master the art of the blade. However, she stands out compared to others in this regard, as few humans can match her skills in sword fighting. 

Paths

Known as Path’s of the Ackermans, this is Mikasa’s greatest ability yet. Passed down from the Ackerman clan, the user has the combined skills of all Ackermans that lived before them (Kinda like the Avatar State). Not only does the path improve the user’s battle skills and senses, but it can also increase reaction speed and intelligence. Plus, Eren stated that Ackermans have strengths of a titan without transforming when awakened, which is confirmed for Mikasa when she killed her final kidnapper. Levi used this ability numerous times against his fights with the Beast and Female Titans, and Mikasa can do the same given more time and experience compared to Levi.

• Note: The reason for contention around this feat is surrounding context. When Levi got hit by one, he would’ve died if not for surgery, and after that he was wheelchair-bound for the rest of the series. Not to mention, he wasn’t as close to the blast as Mikasa was. This makes the feat rather dubious, as it contradicts the scaling of superior characters like Levi. It is there for the sake of completion, however.

Like all of her fellow hunters and huntresses, Blake is reliant on her Aura. If she runs out, she also loses her semblance, severely hurting her versatility and greatly sapping her durability and strength. Gambol Shroud itself also has weaknesses in it’s kusarigama form. When she uses it to grapple and swing around, one can knock the thrown weapon’s trajectory off and cause Blake to lose momentum, or even sever the ribbon and cause her to fall while she’s swinging. She’s also a lot more of a team player funnily enough, as a good chunk of her victories were through help.

Blake has also had a history of emotional indecisiveness, usually running away from her problems (this obviously doesn’t apply in the nature of Death Battle). While this is no longer the case, she has gotten a bit more emotional in her fights, making her a bit easier to read. When she does fight on her own during her emotional moments, she can be easily overwhelmed, which not only risks her aura, but her weapon being disarmed as well.

Mikasa

Eren.

...That’s not enough? Fiiiiine. To elaborate, Mikasa’s emotional state for most of the series was pretty closely knit with Eren’s safety. This has led her to making dumb, reckless decisions that have almost gotten her killed, and more than once at that.

Additionally, she completely lost the will to live early on in the series when she thought Eren had been killed. Her emotional ties to Eren are a double edged sword, both a tremendous strength that has led her to pulling off some absurd feats, and her greatest weakness at the same time. Even without Eren, Mikasa has trouble keeping a cool head against opponents more skilled than her, which is an albeit rare occurrence.

On the non-emotional front, Mikasa’s 3D maneuver gear is far from impervious to damage. The lines can be cut, the blades can be snapped, and gas can run out. Once it’s gone, it’s unlikely she’ll be able to find replacement equipment during a confrontation like this. This won’t make Mikasa any less strong, but it will greatly reduce her mobility.

• Accustomed to fighting and winning against physically superior opponents

• Could turn the fight over if Blake’s aura is disabled, taking out most of her offense and defense including Shadow

• Paths could help her keep up with Blake better

• ABS LIKE STEEL

Disadvantages:

• Likely physically weaker

• Much slower

• Has never fought anything similar to Dust and Shadow

• Will have more difficulty landing hits due to Shadow

• Weaponry are very limited and can easily break or run out

• “It’s not like we’re related by blood or anything.”

So Blake vs Mikasa. As someone who has predicted this fight was going to happen for a while as well as being a huge fan of both RWBY as well as Attack on Titan - i got to admit that i was pretty excited about it. So much so that i asked fellow DEATH BATTLE Fan Nemesis Bloodryche if i could discuss with him Blake vs Mikasa as well as other things which you can see here though have some popcorn as its 1 hour and 45 Minutes long. Anyway, let’s get onto what I think of this fight and who I think should ultimately win this. 

First let’s get this out of the way - Blake destroys Mikasa in terms of speed. Like it isn’t even a contest and obviously when comparing the two characters - this is the one stat that is going to make the most difference in this fight. Blake can evade missiles as well as dodge lighting from a Sulong Grimm (while lighting fired as a Dragon likely isn’t as fast as actual lighting it is still an impressive feat). That’s not even considering the fight that Blake likely scales to both Mercury and Emerald who have dodged natural lighting. Dodging natural lighting would put Mercury’s speed at the very least in the Massively Hypersonic range in Mach 1000 at the absolute low ball. And yes Blake should 100% scale to Mercury considering that while he was holding back a bit - fighters such as Pyrrha Nikos and Yang who both have fought with Mercury in the past and have kept up with his speed. At her absolute worst you could scale that Blake is a bullet timer scaling from Adam as well as her own bullet timing feat (Any bullet timing feat gets to around Supersonic Level) but at her best you could say that Blake is Massively Dodging from scaling to the likes of Mercury and Emerald. Mikasa on the other hand is only Supersonic considering the Attack on Titan characters have shown bullet dodging feats in the past as shown during the fight against Kenny Ackerman’s squad. This feat should come out to Supersonic at the very most. Which means that unfortunately for Mikasa she is extremely outmatched when it comes to the Speed to the point that comparing Blake vs Mikasa, it is entirely possible for Blake to kill her in one shot with her very clear speed. 

That’s not to say that Mikasa has nothing to content with Blake, her Thunder Spears are easily her ace in the whole in this fight. The Thunder Spears have damaged Titans such as the Armoured Titans who have tanked explosions capable of producing 157 kiltons of TNT or Large Town Level.(as shown when Reiner Braun was fine after Armin set off his transformation explosion. Considering that Blake in terms of durability scales to Ruby Rose (her teammate) who has tanked hits from Nora Valkyrie who is capable of producing 0.84 tons of TNT or building level levels of force meaning if Blake gets hit by a Thunder Spear - it is 100% going to completely deplete her aura and kill in one shot but that’s the ultimate problem of this matchup. If Mikasa can’t land her thunder spears then she would likely be Building Level scaling her to characters like Hanji Zoe and Levi Ackerman who have hurt Titans that are capable of building busting (Hanji took down several Colossal Titans and Levi took down the Beast Titans). So ultimately both would be fairly even in terms of Destructive capability removing the Thunder Spears but Blake is much much faster. 

Mikasa has the edge in intelligence due to her Survey Corps Training as well as her general attitude during fights (she has been shown numerous times to be quite the tactical fighter through per fights against the Warhammer Titan as well as Female/War Titans.). Mikasa should also has the edge in experience not only to the fact that she has been fighting for at least 6-7 years while Blake has been fighting around 5-6 at most but also thanks to Paths giving her the knowledge and experience of previous Ackermans giving her the combined skills of all previous Ackermans so she likely has Intelligence and Experience in the bag. 

But Blake should be much more versatile, this is due to her Gambol Shroud being in general a more versatile weapon then Mikasa’s swords or ranged weaponry as well as her use of dust and of course her Dust Clones which can be used to trip up opponents whilst in combat. There’s also Aura that allows her to tank a lot more hits then an ordinary person as well as take blows that would significantly injure her if not for her Aura. Plus Blake can very much counter Mikasa’s 3D Maneuver Gear through using fire dust on them in order to make them explode - which forces Mikasa to fight grounded where she is far less effective. 

Ultimately at the end of the idea both characters have several advantages and disadvantages going into this fight. Mikasa is a more intelligent fighter and has the clear experience edge over Blake plus if she lands the Thunder Spears then it’s likely game over for Blake. But Blake is much much much faster, much more versatile and can easily exploit Mikasa’s weaknesses such as using gas in order to move around quickly. Ultimately Blake wins this due to being too fast for Mikasa, can tank a lot more hits due to Aura and is much more versatile.

 While Mikasa getting a win is possible due to her Thunder Spears having more destructive capability then what Blake’s durability is possible, more than likely Blake is going to win this more times than not. In terms of this fight - Mikasa is going to have to deal with one big cat-trasophe. I hope you have enjoyed my verdict and personally I am really looking forward to this matchup.

It’s really funny how Volume 8 and Attack on Titan’s endings both went to shit within a few weeks from each other, and then people slowly started to understand. Anyways, on with the verdict.

Starting things off, let’s talk stats. Strength-wise, it seems fairly comparable, since Blake scales to Ruby and Weiss staggering Cordovin’s mech back in Volume 6, and Mikasa’s handled plenty of titans before. It seems pretty dead-even, though Blake has more consistently pulled off these feats with no issue compared to Mikasa.

Speed is a different manner. Mikasa, thanks to the various gunfire dodges we’ve seen as well as other supporting feats, is at most Mach 2. However, RWBY characters have shown speed feats far greater than that by having multiple lightning-based feats. While it’s finicky, the absolute lowest we can lowball for Blake is Mach 78, which is leagues faster than Mikasa. Keep in mind, this is a lowball, and it’s likely that she’s a lot faster.

Durability/stamina is a no brainer. While Mikasa’s tough, she doesn’t have Blake’s ace in the hole, her Aura. While Mikasa will be taking damage as the fight goes on, Blake will take no damage until all of her Aura is depleted. While Mikasa can wear it down, the odds of this happening are unlikely, due to Blake’s insane speed advantage.

Versatility also goes to Blake, as while both of them have a similar “Spider-Man” style of fighting by swinging around, Blake’s various Dust types give her a lot more creative freedom and tricks compared to Mikasa simply using swords. Yes, Mikasa has her Thunder Spears, but more on that later.

Experience and intelligence would probably go to Mikasa. She’s been fighting titans a lot longer than Blake has been fighting Grimm. She’s a lot more composed as well, since the only real chink in her emotional armor is Eren, who won’t be taken into this fight. Blake’s been a lot less composed as of recent, so that also tips things a bit in Mikasa’s favor.

In short, Mikasa has experience and intelligence, but Blake has strength, speed, durability and versatility. Now, let’s get into some questions.

What about Mikasa’s Thunder Spears?

Mikasa’s Thunder Spears can certainly one-shot Blake. However, not only does Blake have the absurd speed advantage making it unlikely that she’ll be able to land them, the Thunder Spears are really her only win-con. Going by the nature of Death Battle, looking at multiple outcomes, they will likely mention how Mikasa could have won with them, but it’s unlikely that said outcome would happen.

Mikasa fights monsters that outclass her all the time. What makes this different?

Yes, Mikasa has taken on Titans that are far bigger and stronger than her. However, none of them really had a speed advantage on her, which is one of the biggest advantages that Blake has in this situation. Arguing that Mikasa wins for this reason is the same logic used back in Season 2 over 6 years ago when a certain Black Swordsman defeated the demonic scourge from Soulcalibur. On paper? It sounds cool. In practice? 9/10 times, the weaker and slower person tends to die.

Could Mikasa wear down Blake’s Aura?

Yes, this is certainly a possibility. However, thanks to Blake’s various advantages, the chances of this are unlikely. Think of it like this, Mikasa has one health bar that shows how much damage she can take before dying, while Blake has a health bar as well. However, that health bar does not deplete until the shield bar (the aura) depletes first (and Aura does slowly heal over time. Not insanely fast, but it will slowly fill back if Blake keeps her distance). 

But Mikasa killed Eren!

While she did, she didn’t destroy his full Titan body. She simply decapitated his human body which is much smaller and vulnerable.

RWBY sucks! This was biased!

Also not the case, as Weiss vs Mitsuru showed us back in Season 6 that RWBY characters can lose. 

IN CONCLUSION:

With all this said, with all these advantages, it’s clear that victory is in Blake’s favor. Guess you could say Mikasa’s loss came… From Shadows.

(RWBY Volume 8 ends, but Miraculous Ladybug Season 4 begins)

I’m back on the blog and just in time for another RWBY Death Battle. Even though I wanted to work on the blog sooner for this season, I’m actually glad Blake VS Mikasa will be the first fight of Season 8 I’ll be working on for the blog. Blake VS Mikasa is probably my most favorite match-up for RWBY’s resident catgirl, and it being a win for Blake is certainly a plus. Let’s get right into the verdict.

Right from the start, I would like to say that I don’t scale Mikasa to the Thunder Spear feat. Levi, who’s pretty much in the same league as Mikasa, who got hit by one and would’ve died from it if not for the surgery that saved his life. So yeah, I see no reason for Mikasa to scale to it. But even though Mikasa doesn’t scale to the Thunder Spear, it’s still part of her arsenal. So will the weapon be enough to take down Blake?

It would… if Mikasa could ever land a hit on Blake. Blake has shown to be on par with other characters capable of dodging lightning (Mercury and Emerald) or at least moved in tandem with lightning (Weiss and Yang). Even then, Blake has dodged bullets from guns more advanced than the ones in AOT and even missiles. The highest speed Mikasa can ever get to is Mach 2, which makes her leagues slower than Blake.

However, there are also other advantages Blake has that’ll get her the win. Blake has her Aura to protect herself from lethal attacks, something that Mikasa lacks. Even though Aura isn’t limitless, Blake will still be able to last longer in the fight because of it. Mikasa doesn’t have that sort of protection and can die as easily as a normal human.

With Aura comes Semblance, and Blake’s semblance will contribute to Mikasa’s downfall. While Mikasa has fought people with powers (Titan-shifters), a semblance is a different experience. Blake can use her semblance to either trick Mikasa into attacking a shadow clone or combine it with Dust for the added bonus of tricking Mikasa into hurting herself. Not to mention Mikasa can run out of gas, reducing her mobility and leaving her as an open target.

Overall, Blake Belladonna has the better odds in winning this fight. She’s leagues faster than Mikasa, can avoid lethal hits by either using her Aura or her semblance, and has better mobility. In addition, while she can run out of Dust or Aura, it won’t stop her mobility or reduce her speed. Meanwhile, Mikasa’s own resources will leave her helpless once they’ve run out. In the end, Mikasa’s fate is Grimm as Blake will receive a Titan-ic victory.

HELLO AGAIN!

I’m back on the G1 Blog for this fight. Firstly I’ve been loving S8 so far, we’ve had 4 great fights in terms of variety and Quality.But now we’ve got our first Unreal 3D fight,Which oh boy finally after 6 years we’ve gotten arguably Blake’s most requested Opponents, so not gonna lie when it comes to these two their fighting styles couldn’t be more similar but different at the same time.Both use long range weapons that are blades,They can maneuver around opponents with ease,Both Use different tactics in order to take down enemies And they are Capable of getting in close range without much difficulty. 

Unfortunately this is where it ends as in all honesty Mikasa may have some kind of experience from Fighting Titans in order to keep up with Her opponent who’ll far more dangerous than Regular Grimm, hell if You’d put Team RWBY up against one Titan they’d struggle hard.Plus Mikasa has Martial Arts training which’ll keep her opponent even more on her toes.On the flip side Blake has fought more than just Grimm, she’s beaten White Fang members, Roman Torchwick, and her old Best Friend,(who could blend in any environment) but her own solo feats are few and far between.Plus going over both stats for them well Mikasa has survived a bomb and being sent into a building by a Titan only to get back up like nothing happened to her 

But Drake fell off a radio tower several stories up without losing her Aura so I’d say this mostly even things out.Speedwise Blake dodging heated Plasma (not natural lighting or regular lighting as people will believe) while also having her enhanced Agility just proves she’s fast yes but no where near Ruby. Also her being compared to Mercury is a bit of a stretch since he casually beat Ruby out of her speed semblance 

So Mikasa kinda wins the speed advantage. but Camp Crystal Lake can definitely keep up with her due to her enhanced Agility as for Strength it’s Night and Day  Mikasa can slice up a Giant Titans foot which can crush buildings whereas Blake can slice apart robots made of steel once again at best she’s not far off from Yang in terms Raw Strength,  she’s at least comparable 

Then lastly there’s 4 ears, Arua, Semblance, and Dust undeniably her biggest advantages, these tip everything in her favor since they grant her more options in combat while keeping Mikasa guessing as to what she’ll do next thus denying any chances of openings or ways of killing Wake.

Don’t misunderstand all of this in the end Blake still will take the victory if only barely Mikasa takes one or two of the major categories in stats whereas Jake can keep up with her when all is said and done. 

 Sadly while most will call this matchup a stomp in Blake’s Favor (not that I cannot agree).I’d argue Mikasa can give our Catgirl a pretty good fight even catch her off guard once or twice given her experience in ATOT Making Female Sasuke/I-Candy Girl really take her serious as the fight progresses 

In the End poor Eren will be losing his Wife Figure to a catgirl with a Decent Ass

10th Anniversary. Let’s Rock!

Hello, everyone. Been since Hulk Vs Broly since I was last on this blog. Lot’s changed since then. But let’s not dwell on the past or I’m liable to get ranty and no it has nothing to do with Death Battle, hence my not wanting to talk about it.

Speaking of Death Battle, let’s get into this. Mikasa is dead. Plain and simple. GG no RE. Game over. 100%. Goodbye. See you later...maybe.

I helped with the discussions for Shadow Vs Ryuko and Lex Vs Doom, but I really didn’t have much to contribute and wasn’t given the honor of placing a verdict. During discussion for the latter, we were told to stay open minded and not immediately jump to conclusions about Doom Hype. Why am I bringing this up? Well, the second the fight was announced, I thought Mikasa was pretty much a dead woman walking. And it’s a shame then that me cutting my teeth into this season has me with such an open and shut case. Even after all our discussions about this fight, even after trying to give Mikasa the absolute best chance I could, Blake has absolutely everything she needs to kill the Titan Slayer. 

Here’s the funny thing about this match up. If you ignore just how drastic Blake’s speed advantage is against Mikasa...this match is much closer. Mikasa has better training, a cooler head and, I’d argue, significantly more experienced. She also stays consistently at the same power and durability throughout the fight whereas Blake would drop in power and durability drastically upon losing her aura. ...And yet Mikasa would still lose.

Blake’s semblance is impossible for Mikasa to understand given nothing in her series uses illusions or anything like that, plus they can explode into fire, shock her, freeze her, etc. Sure, she’d be wary of it after the first time, but that would assume she’d survive the first time. Attack on Titan goes for realistic portrayals of injuries and damage on the human body. Levi barely survived a Thunder Spear exploding in his face. Even if you ignore the speed advantage, lets compare the ways Blake can win versus the ways Mikasa can win:

Blake: Shoot Mikasa dead / Stab or slash Mikasa dead / Set Mikasa on fire with dust from her semblance / strangle Mikasa with the sash of Gambol Shroud

Mikasa: One-shot Blake with a Thunder Spear / wear Blake’s aura down and then stab or slash her with the anti-titan swords or shoot her with Anti-Personnel Gear / strangle Blake with her own Gambol Shroud sash

Not only does Blake have one more win con, only one of Mikasa’s win cons is even remotely easy and with Blake being faster, her first win con becomes even harder when the Thunder Spears have limited supply. If Mikasa even lands a hit with a Thunder Spear, it could just turn out to be Blake’s clone and she’s in for some serious trouble.

And even if you ignore win cons, Blake is bringing several notable advantages to the fight that put the ball in her court far more often. Gambol Shroud is simply a superior weapon and can more easily change from melee to ranged far more efficiently than Mikasa can do the same. Blake, as previously stated, is much much faster than Mikasa. This is more significant than you might realize. Since Mikasa’s Thunder Spear can one-shot Blake aura or no aura, the strength comparisons between both fighters is unimportant. Either can kill the other like it’s a game of Rocket Tag. Speaking of Aura though, that’s Blake’s nail in the coffin of Mikasa’s chances of winning the fight. Aura will make Blake pretty much impervious to damage until it has been whittled down. Like EpicLinkSam said, this is like 2 people with equal health going into battle except one of them has a shield gauge that has to be depleted before you can even deplete the HP bar.

In summary, Mikasa is a powerful warrior, but she cannot compete with Blake’s speed, durable aura and mystifying semblance. Not to sound catty, but Mikasa is kittening herself if she thinks she purrvail. (Oh like Boomstick isn’t going to use a cat pun of some kind. It’s begging to be done).

Honestly, I can actually maybe see Mikasa pulling this off, and I would be happy if she did, but to me it’s like a 2% chance that DB actually made that decision.

The winner will be Blake Belladonna.

So, we're finally bringing in Attack on Titan? Welp at least it's staying true to the roots by killing off their characters in brutal ways. Anyway let's just explain how fucked Mikasa is as quick and easy as possible.

1: Versatility.

Definitely one of the biggest factors in my eyes, as Attack on Titan characters never really had to deal with anyone as versatile as Blake. For the sake of simplicity, let's solely look at Dust and how it affects weapons and semblances, since that's the main attraction to RWBY fights Mikasa only has to worry about:

Normal, fire, ice, lightning, rock and laser-like bullets, gravity altering bullets (if Blake's gun can operate like Ironwood's), Shadow Clones, rock clones, ice clones, clones that explode, clones that shock you, clones that judge your life choices and get depressed really easily, AND Blake herself. Meanwhile Blake has to watch out for two swords and Thunder Spears, which are literally designed to hit giants and can kill Mikasa if she fires them too close to herself. Good luck hitting someone who has hyperawareness with that, buddy.

Oh, but Mikasa can channel the power of the titans, right? Surely that has to make it more even. Titans are really powerful, dude. Like this Eren Titan is so powerful, he fell off a wall and… was knocked out cold… oh. I know it sounds like I'm cherry picking an anti-feat, but remember that Eren's Titan form is leagues above any average Titan, which is the power Mikasa would theoretically match. Meanwhile, in Blake's preview, her aura as of volume one tanked an attack as powerful as 4.27 tons of TNT. That alone is more powerful and tough than anything a normal Titan is capable of. Odds are I'm downplaying the Titans so in that case, let's be generous and say she would scale to the best normal Titans around, which are a solid build to large building level in AP, which is 3 tons of TNT. Still smaller than Blake already, but now let's scale Blake to Weiss, another member of RWBY. By doing this, Blake's AP is now at 231 tons of TNT, which Multi City Block+. You know you're screwed when you're outstated by motherfucking Weiss Schnee. 

And now speed. Mikasa is seen dodging bullets and Titan attacks consistently, and her preview has her travel speed at a third of the speed of sound. Now here's Blake who lives in a world that weaponizes lightning. You know, the shit that moves at 270,000 miles per hour? What's that? Not buying lightning timing dust? Y'know what that's incredibly valid, but Blake also dodged lightning from a Grimm that fired it out of its mouth, too. 

So in the end, Mikasa is too slow, lacks any real power and a way to disable Blake's Aura, no way to predict everything she can do because of the dust and Shadow Clones. 

If anyone tells me Blake won through bias alone, I'm going to slap you through your screen.

Great to return to doing a prediction blog after the finale of Hulk Vs Broly, which truly was a twist and on its own a great fight. While I mostly was busy with life, including myself turning 21, I have been helping out on the blogs that I wanted to help. I did help in some of Shadow Vs Ryuko, but sadly could not do a verdict which I was at least happy to support in the research and jokes, mostly jokes. But, I truly went all out in helping for this blog when Blake Vs Mikasa finally got to be the Death Battle episode that is next. Truly nervous on the fight, but very hyped for it since it was a highly requested matchup and its timing was perfect since the magna just ended. Despite me having personal thoughts on the series of RWBY and the brand behind it, this fight is truly one I went all out in helping in researching for Mikasa. From the bios to some of the abilities and weapons, this was the second most fun I had in making this blog behind Wally Vs A. Sonic. Which I was very happy when I got voted from the new rule to begin a verdict for this matchup.

So getting straight to my verdict and my view on the fight: I think Mikasa might get the win on Blake.

Truly shocking on my part because of how looking at this blog and research from weeks that Blake truly has big advantages over the Titan cadet, especially with her aura and semblance. However, when you compare the feats and abilities, surprisingly, Mikasa actually makes the battle a close fight. Which is why I want to summarize my three big questions that mostly brought my view to what it is now. 

1. Can Mikasa destroy Blake’s Aura?

This is the easy question because of how Blake’s numerous advantages and abilities are all tied into her aura. It is up to the question whether or not Mikasa can even damage this second skin like shield. The answer: Yes, Mikasa does have what it takes to destroy Blake’s aura due to her weaponry and stats actually matching very close to Blake’s and if not most characters in RWBY. Despite her weapons being easily limited, Mikasa makes up for her by having supplies for herself and mostly having mobility thanks to both of her gears. Mostly importantly, the Thunder Spears are mostly a one shot win because of them being so powerful that even the toughest of Titans like the armor are not safe from it. And honestly the Titans have shown to be much stronger and durable than the Grimms Blake has faced, but Blake would not give up without a fight. 

Which leads to my next question. 

2.  Can Mikasa keep up with Blake in stats and abilities? 

This is where Mikasa had the biggest trouble because of how again, Blake’s main fighting style is all based on her aura. Blake’s semblance can be used for defense and offense, her dust can truly add extra damage thanks to its elements, and her reaction speed is much faster than Mikasa since she reacted to lighting attacks. However, Mikasa truly can keep up thanks to her training and experience in fighting both titans and humans. In strength and durability, both are surprisingly on par with each other. Mikasa could say is stronger and durable since the titans mostly shown they are stronger and tougher than most grimms, if minus Blake’s aura for increasing stats. The only real challenge that Mikasa truly has is Blake’s reaction speed because Mikasa and most other characters in Attack on Titan have shown to only react to speeds as far as cannon, guns at point blank, bombs, and the mind itself. There is nothing that the G1 Blog, or myself, that found reaction speeds to Faster Than Light (FTL) in Attack on Titan. But, Mikasa does have one ability that might save her in speed and stats. Which is her Paths of the Ackerman’s. The reason why this might turn the tables in stats because not only does it help in increasing her senses, strength, and reaction speed slightly, but it also allows her to be smarter and get skills from all past Ackerman in her blood line. It’s mostly a human avatar state with a tingle of spider sense to the mix, and I honestly think her Path will make up Mikasa’s stats and could change the tie in the fight itself.

3. Can Mikasa last long enough to deplete Blake’s Aura?  

Truly the ultimate factor and the biggest question I had to decide upon in determining my verdict. There is no doubt that Mikasa can easily take out Blake because of her better training and experience would overwhelm the huntress. Not only that, but Blake truly is not good when it comes to fighting foes one-on-one that fights more aggressive (Adam). She’s mostly a support, but one that mostly can be used for both offense and defense. So the toughest decision is whether Blake can get the killing blow before Mikasa can take out her aura. Truly 50/50 on the matter as Blakes does indeed can get the kill thanks to her being better at speed, shealth, and her weapons lasting longer. However, that Path of Ackerman truly changes everything on what I researched and Mikasa is more prepared than this fight thinks. I think Mikasa’s skills are truly what will be the game changer in her having better control of the match than Blake will. While Mikasa does not have experience with aura or Blake’s Dust Shadows, she only needs to fall for it once and thanks to her Paths, she would survive and not fall for Blake’s traps. She mostly would focus on having better control of the fight and chip Bellandonna’s aura until it is completely gone. Once Blake’s arua is gone, Mikasa is going to win because mostly all of Blake’s abilities and skills will be gone by the point and would not recover fast enough for Mikasa to get the final blow.

Overall, Mikasa I believe will win this Death Battle because of her having the brains and ABS!!!! to overpower Blake’s defense and aura. Tell you the honest truth, this fight can go either way because of how both fighters have fought their battles no matter the odds and teamwork with the friends they have. Big factors indeed are too big to ignor in this blog that Blake does have a higher chance of winning that were put into this blog based on the volumes in RWBY. However, I feel that Mikasa and her world of Attack on Titan has what it takes to beat Blake while also revealing major feats that would change this fight. While Mikasa does not have at first the stats to beat Blake and her aura, I think that her skills and experience truly makes a big difference in changing the fight overtime. At the end of the fight, I think that Mikasa has what it takes to overpower Blake’s aura and survive her fast attacks because of her being the better fighter and countering Blake in time. 

Blake had it at the start thanks to her fast reflexes and strong aura; however, Mikasa had the experience, training, and Paths to overcome this fannus huntress. You can say that the Belladonna could not sink this Ackerman.

Hello everybody! I'm Giotto, God this is my first time blogging like this and I want to thank Mal for this opportunity. I've been looking forward to this match ever since an Attack On Titan rep was announced for this season. Especially since it is one of the classic requested battles for the seasons. And what better way than with the year Attack on Titan ended? One of my favorite manga now that I am reading it and a very entertaining series full of action and legendary fights, Mikasa, a character that I have liked a lot from my experience so far, against my favorite member of the RWBY team of the few volumes that I watched.

Watching the fight at first I thought it was a victory for Blake more than assured. From what I heard and the recent buffs from the RWBY universe. But how did this hold up? Somehow the debate became decently more interesting than I thought. For its part, Attack On Titan also had its slight buffs recently with the timeskip, placing them at a considerable level.

Starting, the most obvious. Mikasa doesn't really have a repertoire of abilities that makes her stand out from Blake and his shadow aura and the effects of the dust. Her arsenals are decently matched (Gambol and her forms in Blake's case and the 3DMG with the Thunder Spears, blades and anchors in Mikasa's case) but Blake can get much more out of this thanks to the aforementioned abilities. . However, Mikasa is the same or more strategic and intelligent than Blake, (her years of fighting experience and training in what they do are around 4 to 7 years) so for more tricks that the last one tried to use, it would not be a complication. so serious. The thing lies in the fact that Mikasa has the limitations of hers as well, and it is the gas from the 3DMG that has proven not to last too long in battle.

Which brings me to the last part of my verdict, Blake has scaling in the speed section far better than Mikasa. Scaling to Grimms who possess lightning abilities and others that can reach speeds of mach 99. Mikasa can increase her speed herself due to the Ackerman factor as she has repeatedly shown and scales to Levi who has excellent reflexes against bullets and other 3 users. DGM, the difference is clear. The strength factor is perhaps the most questionable part of this fight and that is that both may or may not escalate to remarkable feats like that of some titans in the case of Mikasa, and the maidens as in the case of Blake. Mikasa has One Shotting options thanks to the Thunder Spears technology and her ackerman's strength confirmed by Eren in the timeskip of being the power titan in human form. But even Levi himself has had a hard time recovering from serious injuries who is technically equal to or stronger than Mikasa. Blake for the part of her has scaling to different from her friends like Weiss and Yang, who normally should have feats close to CB or MCB via taking down giant machines.

My final point is this, Mikasa may be slightly tougher and more experienced. But she is full of limitations and things that could easily cast doubt on her stamina, which Blake will definitely bring into play with such a difference in speed and abilities. So even if it is hard for me to admit it, I will give the victory to Blake.
