Death Battle Predictions: Ganondorf VS Dracula

Every generation of heroes has earned their fabled reputations as champions of justice by slaying villains no matter where they lurked. This, in turn, has led to the continuation of their legacies as warriors who return to face the forces of evil regardless of era, and in the cases of two such long-running dynasties, the monsters they face are all a byproduct of their respective archnemeses - lords of darkness who have come back from the grave time and time again to conquer everything they see until the entire world lays broken in their growing conquest:

Ganondorf, the resurrected demon king from the Legend of Zelda. Dracula, Castlevania’s chaotic king of vampires. No grave has been strong enough to keep these mad monarchs from defying death over countless centuries, all to torment any would-be heroes who would be foolish enough to challenge them. Both of them have been feared as their respective universes’ own “Lords of Darkness”, and the next episode of Death Battle will see those claims tested; which of these legendary gaming villains will take the throne as the one true king of evil?

In Case You’re Wondering

Being an immensely popular character, Dracula has had various interpretations and alternate versions throughout different mediums, so for obvious reasons, we’re zeroing in on one specific incarnation: the Dracula from the primary timeline of Castlevania. This means that we aren’t going after his alternate self from the Lords of Shadow timeline due to differing backstories and abilities, although the Netflix show is fair game enough due to its closeness to the original canon. The original Bram Stoker novels have a disputable level of canon to Castlevania, so while we are going to consider feats based on that, game feats will take precedence.

As for Ganondorf, we’ll be compositing all versions of the character through all of Zelda; much like Link and Zelda, all his reincarnations are all-around similar levels of power, which makes a composite easier to handle. Obviously, nothing that contradicts canon is going to fly, so no: Smash Bros. does not count. Also, as we had to explain with Weiss VS Mitsuru because “RWBY in DB lol”, please forget that Ganondorf was on the show before. We all want to.

Finally, be prepared for memes. Be prepared for many memes.

Background

Ganondorf

In the era following the world’s creation, mankind lived in harmony with the other races of the world, all enjoying the protection of the goddess Hylia - appointed guardian of the Triforce. But in the depths below the earth, there existed an entity of darkness that sought this ultimate power – Demise. Demise invaded the surface with his army of demons where he fought the goddess to a standstill, and though he wound up sealed away, he forced humanity to take refuge in the sky and Hylia to give up both her life and her divinity as the world awaited a new hero.

1000 years later, this new chosen hero of the goddess came as destiny intended, waging war on Demise’s forces single-handedly and ultimately besting him. In the final seconds of Demise’s life, he made both a promise and a curse to the hero; that his and the goddess’ descendants would never know peace, as an incarnation of his hatred made flesh would come to haunt them in every era.

And so, the Demon Lord Ganondorf was cast as an eternal blight upon the world. Born as the lone male of the Gerudo tribe, born once every 100 years, Ganondorf (sometimes known as Ganondorf Dragmire) was automatically made their king but soon rose to infamy as a warlock of immeasurable strength and leader of a band of desert thieves. Though born a man, Ganondorf was very much the ancient demon Demise’s hatred and will be made flesh. Ganondorf sought the almighty power known as the Triforce as his progenitor did before him, wishing to subjugate and rule all he laid eyes upon as he coveted the lives of peace on the pleasure that the hero and the goddess’ descendants came to enjoy, while his own knew only suffering and struggle.

Using his political and military might (and a whole lot of scheming), Ganondorf eventually took over the Kingdom of Hyrule in a coup and tricked the Hero’s reincarnation into opening the doorway to the power he longed for. This ploy allowed Ganondorf to lay hands on the Triforce, claiming but a single piece – the Triforce of Power – solidifying his reign as the Prince of Darkness and Demon Lord, Ganon. And thus was the beginning of Hyrule’s blood-stained legacy of light and shadow, waged eternally across time.

Ganondorf sometimes claimed victory over the Hero. Most often, he was defeated and sealed or outright slain. But there was one thing Ganondorf always succeeded in without question; he always returned to spill the blood of Demise’s enemies and plunge the world into darkness.

Dracula

Before turning into an immortal being who declared himself to be God’s opposite in every conceivable way, Mathias Cronqvist was a military tactician who served in a company of knights based out of Wallachia. Having spent his early adolescence studying the art of warfare and various fields of alchemy owing to his family’s proficiency in the latter, he aided in various crusades fighting in a company of knights alongside his compatriot, Leon Belmont; with their combined talents, their coalition conquered all challenges with little to no effort. Their good fortunes would not last forever, though; upon returning home from one of his campaigns, Mathias found out that his beloved wife Elisabetha passed away due to illness.

Furious at God for letting her die at such a young age while he was busy fighting in His name, the forlorn tactician swore to find a way to attain immortality - the first step he would take in taking revenge against Him. By attaining the power of the Crimson Stone and infusing it with the soul of the vampire lord Walter Bernhard, Mathias transformed himself into a vampire - acting in defiance of his mortality to further spite God. He had accomplished this by reluctantly manipulating Leon into doing his bidding and even offered him the same power in an act of friendship as he too knew the loss of a loved one, but the ex-baron refused and swore that he and his descendants would rise up to stop Mathias’ rage against Heaven until the end of time.

Since then, Mathias settled himself in an abandoned castle, making a home for himself and other creatures of the night who also despised God. One such visitor and an unlikely one at that was a headstrong scientist named Lisa. As she reminded him of Elisabetha, the two fell in love and even had a son together. While Mathias thought that he could attain some semblance of peace with mankind, it was not meant to last; Lisa was soon burned at the stake for supposedly practicing witchcraft when she attempted to use her beloved’s advanced technology to care for her home village. At that moment, Mathias Cronqvist was no more; Dracula Vlad Tepes had finally taken his place, and the self-proclaimed Dark Lord demanded vengeance.

With the armies of the night at his beck and call, Dracula ventured forth into Europe, razing cities and slaughtering innocents everywhere he went. Mankind’s armies and feeble arsenals could not stop him, forcing generations of heroes like the Belmont, Belnades and Morris clans and even his own son Alucard to rise up and end his reign of terror. Even his supposed deaths were nothing more than mere setbacks, as he would resurrect every 100 years, stronger than ever before. For as long as he can feast on the chaos and darkness that lies in humanity’s souls, Dracula’s tenacious bloodlust cannot and will not be sated until Earth and Heaven themselves lay in ruins at his feet as payment for all the sins they have accrued against him.

Abilities

Ganondorf

Dark Magic

Ganondorf has various forms of magic he can use, namely that of dark magic. There are various different ways he uses this magic, including

Darkness Waves: Can paralyze opponents and protects smaller creatures like Navi from getting too close to him
Flight/Levitation: Self-explanatory. He can lift himself up in the air and even fly around
Energy Ball: Creates a ball of lightning, light or dark energy which he can launch at opponents. Has been known to have homing and the ability to stun in some games.
Blazing Bats: Via the power of the Trident, Ganon is able to summon forth a legion of bat-shaped flames that circle around him in a ring before being launched at his foe.
Deadman’s Volley: Not actually magical at all, but you know how some Zelda characters can slap projectiles back and forth like a game of tennis? This is what it’s called.
Magic Volleys: Sends out several magical balls out at once to surround an opponent and attack them at once
Dark Portals: Can make portals of dark magic that he can either use for travel or to send others to a gap between dimensions to banish them.
Teleportation: Can teleport with pretty much a snap of his fingers, allowing him to be wherever he needs to be
Warlock Punch: Can engulf his fist in dark fire before unleashing a powerful punch to the opponent
Wizard’s Foot: Surrounds his foot in darkness as he does a charging kick or a diving kick
Gerudo Dragon: Dashes forward with Dark Fire before uppercutting the opponent
Flame Choke: Dashes forward with Dark Fire before grabbing the opponent by the neck and giving them a small dark explosion to the face
Dark Dive: Jumps into the air before charging the opponent with electricity and then making them explode
Lightning Bolts: Ganon has displayed the ability to both call down lightning from the sky as well as launch it from his hands
Barriers: Ganondorf has made magical barriers for keeping people out of places and trapping them within them. These include crystalline prisons that he uses to trap individuals, massive cubical barriers of twilight that can encase entire castles and or magical walls that can cover anything from a doorway (like in OoT) or the entire vicinity of his lair (like in WW).
Blood Moon: Allows Calamity Ganon to revive all fallen monsters in Hyrule as well as make them stronger and outfit them with stronger gear
Possession: Can take control of unconscious bodies, even if they’re as strong as Princess Zelda
Ice Manipulation: Gandorf was somehow able to freeze the entirety of Zora’s Domain, the surrounding mountains and lake and even the underground pathway all the way out to Lake Hylia across the continent.
Shadows: Though only seen used on Link, Ganondorf can create twisted copies of people from their shadows. These copies are just as skilled in combat as the original user, and can even appear in multiples to fight at once.
Curses: Though these can take a long time to fully be used, Ganondorf is capable of inflicting curses onto those who get in his way. The limits and requirements for these curses are unknown, but he was able to inflict one of these curses upon the Great Deku Tree when said Tree refused to give him the Kokiri Emerald in Ocarina of Time. There are also minor curses that his minions use (such as the bubbles) which prevent foes that make contact from drawing their weapons or slowly turning them into monsters.
Time Manipulation: In Wind Waker, Ganon casts a spell that creates an eternal night over the Great Sea. While this is in effect, the world remains under the veil of night and morning will never come. Ganon casts a similar spell over his lair in the same game that keeps it under a permanent veil of night and will change the time of day as you approach.
Storm Creation: There have been a number of instances in the series where Ganon has displayed the power to make storms. When Ganon casts his eternal night spell in Wind Waker, a perpetual storm is created alongside it. Additionally, when awakening as Calamity Ganon in one of the memories in BotW, you see storm clouds fill the sky and lightning rain down.
Darkness Technique: Ganon uses this in the original Legend of Zelda as well as A Link to the Past in order to shroud the area in darkness and make himself invisible to the naked eye and untouchable unless the area is relit. This however does not disguise his magic.

Twilight Magic

Size Manipulation: While Ganon hasn’t personally displayed this power, his follower - Zant - who he granted magic to can. On top of this, there have been instances of enemies in the franchise with the ability to grow and change size so it’s logical that Ganon should be capable of the same.
Twilight Zones: Zant was able to blanket the King of Hyrule in Twilight. The zones’ zorders act as barriers to keep anything out, out and anything in, in. Living creatures caught under the effects of twilight are reduced to nothing more than lost, wandering souls and are unable to perceive beings of the Twilight realm or realize that they’ve become nothing more than spirits. Monsters in the twilight undergo changes into strange, shadowy versions of themselves and become imperceptible to other creatures aside from those with heightened senses or other Twilit beings.
Ethereal Form: Ganon is shown ingame to be able to take on an ethereal form comprised of Twilight particles. Not much is shown about this form, but it was able to casually overwhelm a Fused Shadow empowered Midna during their clash that would have realistically only taken a few seconds.
Warping and Portals: Zant and Ganon have shown the ability to instantly teleport between areas and dimensions at will using Twilight magic. Additionally, Zant is able to create portals in the sky that spit out monsters so naturally Ganon could do the same.
Barriers: In addition to Twilight zones acting as barriers on their own, Zant’s been able to throw down a number of stakes and link them together with energy to create fences whilst Ganon’s threw up a massive barrier of Twilight around Hyrule Castle.
Possession: Ganondorf can dissolve into Twilight particles and inject them into another’s body to control them.
Reanimation: Zant was able to create a large sword of Twilight that when impaled into another’s corpse, reanimated it.
Energy Attacks: Zant displays the ability to rapid fire off energy bullets comprised of Twilight. Once again, if Zant can do it, so should Ganondorf

Dracula

Vampire Physiology

As befitting the prototypical example of his kind for all of fiction to follow, Dracula possesses many of the standard abilities any self-respecting vampire has, albeit too many ludicrous degrees than other mediums or universes. He possesses long-lasting immortality and invulnerability; not only does this let him live for hundreds of lifetimes, but it also makes him impossible to kill with normal weapons. Only holy and divine weapons can damage and potentially kill him, and even then, his impressive healing factor allows him to survive attacks from such tools.

Much of Dracula’s long lifespan comes from being able to suck the blood of humans and animals, which he can do the traditional way by actually biting them or even through a simple touch. He can also steal their souls as an alternative and can do so even from a distance.

Mental Manipulation

Dracula is able to possess beings and completely control them - acting more like extensions of his own power. Even if they just have a piece of Dracula’s power, he is still able to possess them as shown with Albus in Order of Ecclesia as well as Maximum Kischime by Dracula’s Wrath. He can also subtly influence people to go mad or become more aggressive as shown when he influenced the people of Wallachia even after he died for the first time. This “Mental Curse” even extends to powerful beings such as Hector and Issac.

Chaos Magic

It is generally agreed upon by most individuals within Castlevania lore that Dracula’s position as the Dark Lord and Chaos being the source of his power. It has made him the complete and total opposite of God Himself and as such specializes in Chaos Magic which is Magic of pure destruction - it is the opposite of the Holy Magic used by the Belmonts and Holy Creatures. Dracula has learned many Chaos Spells over the years:

  • Reality Warping: Being the embodiment of Chaos and the polar opposite of God. Dracula has shown to be powerful enough to warp all of reality in his environment and dimensions on a grand scale as seen in his fights with Richter, Hector and his son, Alucard
  • Conceptual Manipulation: With this ability, Dracula has demonstrated being able to manipulate all existent concepts, change concepts as well as create new ones out of nothing such as when he is able to manipulate the structure and shape of his castle and dimensions to his own liking.
  • Time Manipulation: Dracula while not being as skilled as the Time Reaper or Aeon when it comes to the manipulation of time, he can certainly used it to great effect - stopping time in order to stop his enemies dead in his tracks.
  • Demonic Cleansing: Dracula summons a gigantic pillar of scorching hellfire to destroy his opponent.
  • Dark Void: With this spell, Dracula can teleport as a black mist of bats.
  • Fatal Ray: Dracula creates a large pillar of green energy that rains down - hurting anything that comes into contact with it, besides Dracula.
  • Destruction Ray: An amplified version of Fatal Ray, instead of a green pillar of energy, the colour is purple and it is more damaging than the Fatal Ray.
  • Dark Metamorphosis: This attack boosts Dracula’s blood draining ability. Dracula while using Dark Metamorphosis can drain the life-force of anything that he touches.
  • Meteor Shower: Dracula creates meteors that come from the sky in order to hit whoever is facing him. This is an extremely powerful move and causes a lot of damage though it can be dodged.
  • Demonic Meggido: Dracula’s Ultimate Attack and easily one of his most powerful - run from it but it will cause your death all the same. This attack has appeared in two ways. The first is channel demonic runes in order to create a giant black fireball. When fired at an enemy it causes a massive explosion that heavily damages anything that gets hit by it with the exception of Dracula obviously. In Order to Ecclesia, he can charge a much more powerful version of Demonic Meggido that pretty much one-shots any hero facing Dracula.

Pyrokinesis

Dracula is able to bend fire to his will. His control over Fire is powerful is that he can create fiery avatars that are able to speak. Dracula has learned fire attacks throughout his long history.

  • Hellfire: Dracula is able to create fireballs that he fires out from his cape. He can also manipulate fire to create flames to erupt from the floor.
  • Dark Blaze: Dracula summons pillars of dark magic to destroy his opponent.
  • Dark Inferno: Fires magma fireballs from his cape. Unlike Hellfire, the meteors produced by this spell cannot be destroyed

Blood Magic

Due to being a vampire, Dracula has been shown being able to manipulate the blood of others in order to corrupt them. He can also use blood as a weapon for example creating a rain of blood as well as teleporting using blood.

  • Blood Draining: Dracula, being a vampire, can bite and drink the blood of his victims. His spell Dark Metamorphosis can enhance his blood draining ability. He can also drain his victims' blood by merely touching them with his hands.
  • Blood Storm: A mockery of the Belmont’s famous technique - The Hydro Storm, Dracula can summon a rain of blood in order to hurt his enemies.
  • Blood Teleportation: Dracula can use blood in order to teleport himself, he mostly uses this technique in the Dracula X Chronicles Remake.

Electrokinesis

Dracula is able to manipulate the element of lighting in order to strike enemies or channel lighting through his fingertips in order to damage foes.

  • Pillars of Lighting: Dracula is able to create pillars of lighting which can be used to damage Vampire Hunters such as the Belmonts.

Power of Domination

The Power of Domination allows Dracula to absorb and control the creatures that he has slain in combat. Souls often come in four different types - Bullet Souls, Guardian Souls, Enchanted Souls, and Special Ability Souls and Soma Cruz/Dracula are able to use all of them. While Dracula’s reincarnation - Soma Cruz was able to use the Power of Domination to great effect, Dracula has only shown using the Power of Domination once - during Portrait of Ruin where he absorbed Death to become True Dracula. With the Power of Domination, he’s also demonstrated other abilities such as being able to telekinetically levitate living and non-living things, read and dominate minds, manipulate matter, absorb life forces, inflict death/petrify curses, nullify magic and abilities, or simply erase his enemies’s souls such as abstract beings like Death out of existence.

Glyphs

As the members of the Order of Ecclesia, Dracula is able to create and control magical glyphs for various attacks and effects:

  • Fire Glyphs: Dracula can create Fire Glyphs that burn the target on contact. During his final form fight against Christopher, he can release these fire glyphs in a wave in order to make it nearly unavoidable
  • Lighting Glyphs: Dracula has two types of Lighting Glyphs that he uses against Christopher. First, he has Glyphs that create lighting in order to strict any opponent from below. His second lighting glyphs create electric balls to home onto Christopher.
  • Water Glyphs: Dracula can create water glyphs that create water bubbles that home onto the enemy.
  • Summoning Glyphs: Dracula can use glyphs in order to summon monsters such as Homing Eyes.
  • Dominus: Created from the remains of Dracula - Dominus are Glyphs that are the manifestation of his own power. Due to the fact that the glyphs draw from Dracula's own dark power, his will can easily consume the mind of the wielder. While Dracula has never really shown using Dominus the Glyphs. The fact that they are manifestations of Dracula’s power means that it’s very likely that Dracula would be able to use Dominus:
    • Dominus Hatred: Very similar to Dracula’s attack - Fatal Cry, it creates a large pillar of energy is fired upwards then it rains down across the room, damaging anything on their path
    • Dominus Anger: Very similar to Dracula’s attack - Dark Inferno, it fires an extremely large projectile that goes across the screen.
    • Dominus Agony: Dominus Agony boosts the user’s stats but drains their life force (their HP)
    • Dominus True Potential: When the three glyphs are combined, Dominus' full power is unleashed: killing everyone in its presence, including the user. This was how Shaona defeated Dracula in Order of Ecclesia.

Curse of Dracula

After being defeated by Simon Belmont in 1691, Dracula placed a curse on him which caused his body to slowly decay and die over the course of seven years. Though it’s possible this curse could be made to work faster if Dracula were alive, and he likely has other curses at his disposal. The only way to get rid of the curse would be to burn Dracula’s remains after they’ve been gathered

Animal Shapeshifting

Bat

Dracula turns into a swarm of bats as a means of evading attacks from his opponents. At the same time though, dash into enemies as a swarm of bats works as a form of attack.

Mist

Dracula can turn into mist to become intangible avoid all forms of attack.

Wolf

Dracula has been shown to transform into a wolf for charging attacks.

Castlevania

The infamous home of Count Dracula itself. While it may seem like an ordinary Romanian castle from the outside, Castlevania is actually a pocket dimension manifested from Dracula’s connection to Chaos. Its physical form changes every time Dracula manifests it in the real world, and while it does collapse upon the death of its master, Castlevania has also re-manifested itself at times, often acting as a harbinger for Dracula’s return.

Due to his great power, Dracula has the ability to transport Castlevania anywhere he pleases, and change its structure to his liking. The inside of the castle is filled with his demon army, all of whom will gladly eviscerate any threat to their liege.

Chaotic Realm

The Chaotic Realm is the source of darkness and only Dracula can enter this specific dimension. Dracula and his reincarnation, Soma Cruz, are the only ones recorded to have ever entered the Chaotic Realm. This realm also sports demons of various kinds that will bow to Dracula's will.

Transformations

Ganondorf

Ganon

With the Triforce of Power, Ganondorf is able to turn into the monstrous pig-demon known as Ganon. There have been many different versions of Ganon throughout the Zelda series, but they typically are much larger than Ganondorf’s base form is. In addition, his strength, durability, and magical power are even greater while still maintaining his intelligence and prowess for battle. This form was so powerful, it actually killed Link in one timeline, leading to a third path following Ocarina of Time.

And in addition, Ganon also has weapons of his own. In Ocarina of Time, he had two massive swords that he swung around to try and hit Link. And in A Link to the Past, Ganon actually possesses a Trident that he’ll swing around. His spell list includes teleportation, invisibility in darkness, a set of fireballs that circle around him, and he can even create balls of magic or even lightning thanks to the powers of his alter ego, the wizard Agahnim.

In Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Ganon gains the ability to fire lasers and giant fireballs from his mouth, as well as shoot electric beams from his swords.

Calamity Ganon

Calamity Ganon, scourge of Hyrule Castle and Malice given form. While the Calamity’s true nature is currently unknown, it appears to retain many of the things that make Ganon, well, Ganon. Those being the wild red hair, abundance of physical and magical might, capacity for overwhelming seals and devising clever strategies and of course, his bloodlust towards those who carry the spirit of the hero and blood of the goddess.

Calamity Ganon comes in three forms, the first of which is a gargantuan, ethereal boar that soars through the air. This form hasn’t displayed many abilities, but it can generate large and violent storms, unleash roars that can shake continents and possess and corrupt machinery. Curiously, It was able to freely fly around Hyrule Castle while its main body laid remained imprisoned in a cocoon by Zelda.

Calamity Ganon’s second and main form is an absolute abomination, piecing together physical features from his human self, various pieces of Sheikah tech (including some unique ones like a giant energy broadsword) and stringing it all together via malice. It wages combat by blending together various attacks used by the Blights and the technological enhancements of both them and the standard guardian models.

Calamity Ganon’s final form is that of a colossal boar. Born out of desperation, this form was created in the last-ditch effort to pool together all of the Calamity’s remaining strength following a siege by all four Divine Beasts and 1-on-1 combat with the Hero of the Wild. As such, this form is rather incomplete and lacks both the Sheikah tech it had following his bout with Link and the full might of a fully realized Ganon, but showcases staggering regenerative powers and the ability to fire off massive lasers of malice and call forth the effects of a Blood Moon at will.

The Blood Moon is when Calamity Ganon covers the moon in malice as a means of resurrecting any part of his army that is dead. The Blood Moon also has an effect on those not made by Ganon, causing them to be distracted, disoriented, or possibly violent if they stare at it too much.

Dracula

Giant Bat

This form was used in Castlevania: The Adventure and Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth with an updated design. In Castlevania: The Adventure, Bat Dracula’s only attack is firing groups of bats at Christopher. In Adventure Rebirth, Dracula is able to create poisonous rain from his wings as well as being able to use a fireball attack.

Beast

This form was used in Castlevania, Castlevania Chronicles, Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, Dracula X (with a different design), Symphony of the Night (Flashback to Rondo of Blood), Dawn of Sorrow (Julius Mode) and Harmony of Despair. While in this form he mostly relies on his claws as well as his fireball attack - firing it from his mouth though he also throws in a wide wave of electricity. This is the most common form out of all of Dracula’s transformation and has appeared the most.

Demonic Face

This form was used in Haunted Castle, Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse, Harmony of Dissonance (as Dracula Wrath) and Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth. In Haunted Castle, the head’s only attack is vomiting giant swarms of bats. In Dracula’s Curse, it is much more grotesque. While fighting Trevor it only attacks is vomiting blood which will hurt Trevor. In Harmony of Dissonance, Dracula Wrath’s head will be firing its claw as well as laser beams from its eyes. Finally in Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth, Dracula - while in giant head form - constantly casts Magical Glyphs such as Fire, Water, Lighting and Summoning Glyphs in order to attack. This is easily the most powerful form of the Giant Head Transformation.

Demon

This form was used in Castlevania: Bloodlines and Castlevania: Curse of Darkness (though the COD version is weaker due to story reasons). During his fight in Castlevania: Bloodlines - he is able to make himself much bigger. In terms of attacks, he can create scythes that home onto John Morris as well as creating massive waves of flame throm his mouth. Once he is at low health - he will turn white and spews a large number of bones when hit. In Curse of Darkness, Dracula’s demon form is much bigger and a bunch of new attacks. He can manipulate the earth in order to create an earthquake and create poisonousness mists. He can also punch Hector or grab him if he wants to. When he far from Hector he will manipulate energy and by creating lasers that look like arrows or creating a large energy beam.

Dragon

This form was used in Castlevania Legends (though it is considered contradictory with the main timeline), Castlevania N64 and Castlevania Legacy of Darkness. In Castlevania Legends, he turns into a giant dragon that fires giant fireballs from his mouth. In N64, Dragon Dracula is able to manipulate fire by creating fireballs and fire streams as well as summoning two flaming skeleton dragons. He can also manipulate the air in order to create tornados as well as the earth to create giant shockwaves. His final attack is that he can create energy balls that can home. In Castlevania Legacy of Darkness, he is able to attack with lightning bolts as well as homing meteors, ice shards and summon a bunch of ghosts. Due to being a Dragon, he is also able to attack with his claws.

Pazuzu

This form was only used in Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse It is based on the Pazuzu (an Assyrian wind demon). While in this form Dracula will fire dark energy beams from his eyes and arms. It’s main weak spot is the head.

True Dracula

This form was only used in Dracula X Chronicles and is Dracula at his full strength after defeating the previously mentioned Beast Form. Whilst in this form, Dracula gains wings that give him flight as well as give him the ability to launch the tips of the wings as projectiles. In this form, he also transforms into a giant wolf. He can create a red energy orb that homes into Ritcher. He also has other attacks from other Dracula Forms such as bats and fireballs.

True Dracula Monster Form

This form was only used in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. While in this form, Dracula tends to fire energy balls as well as use the demon heads to create a triangle and fire 4 prismatic triangles. For melee combat, it can use it’s claw swipes or use the monster heads to attack at Alucard. Though it’s a big attack is summoning previous bosses that have been defeated and then crushes it in order to increase True Dracula’s attack power.

True Dracula Bat Monster Form

This form was only used in Castlevania: Curse of the Moon (It’s also my favorite - Malcolm Belmont). While in this form, Dracula is able to giant flames produced from the ground, spit acid and meteors. He will also do a charging attack which takes off a lot of damage. While in its second form it will turn into a giant eyeball surrounded by bats and he generally does the same attacks as his previous form.

Merged Dracula

This is the form that Dracula takes after he merges with Death after Jonathan Morris defeated both Dracula and Death. Due to merging with Death, Dracula can create scythes that can be used as projectiles. He can also attack with its wings, stomps and knee strikes.

Soma Cruz

In 1999, Dracula was killed in battle by a group of soldiers led by Julius Belmont, Alucard and a descendant of the Belnades clan, and a ritual concocted after his defeat made it nearly impossible to resurrect him. While this supposedly marked an end to his existence, he was reincarnated as a Japanese high school student named Soma Cruz around two decades later. Though Soma doesn’t have any of Dracula’s memories, he does have many of Dracula’s powers, and while he probably won’t make an appearance in the fight itself, it’s reasonable to assume that any feat Soma can do, Dracula can do as well.

Arsenal

Ganondorf

Doriyah

The legend itself. First appearing in the Space World 2000 tech demo, this sword has often been associated with fans of the character (especially those who wished for it to be used in Smash Bros eventually). In Ultimate, he delivers devastating blows with this massive sword while unleashing a powerful warcry.

Sword of the Six Sages

After a failed execution at the hands of the Seven Sages, Ganondorf took the sword they had used to try and slay him with as a weapon. He’s incredibly skilled with it, even able to match Link in a one-on-one duel with it. It is also a holy-elemental weapon.

Twin Katanas

Ganondorf’s go-to weapons in Wind Waker, he uses them in his final battle with Link and is skilled enough with them that he can even parry Link’s attacks with them.

Trident

In Four Swords Adventure, Ganondorf uses this trident to immediately take the form of Ganon instead of the triforce. That's not all it's useful for though as it has plenty of magical capabilities, like leaving trails of fire in its flight path when thrown, summoning swarms of Blazing Bats, the ability to call down bolts of lightning that banish people to the dark world where you can only escape by defeating the enemies within it, the ability to twirl it like a helicopter to fly despite his size, the ability to put a barrier around his whole body that makes him impervious to any of Link's attacks, and a sealing spell that was used to incapacitate Zelda, though it can be broken if he's weakened.

Golden Greatswords

Two massive, golden greatswords that Ganon wields in the final battle of Ocarina of Time. They don’t seem to hold any particular abilities, but they serve as incredibly powerful weapons nonetheless and happen to be the very weapons that Ganon murdered the Hero of Time with in the downfall timeline.

Swords of Demise

One of Ganondorf’s ultimate weapons in Hyrule Warriors, these two greatswords are incredibly powerful and help to improve Ganondorf’s darkness-elemental attacks, by allowing him to channel dark energy through them for a diverse range of attacks.

Trident of Demise

The second of Ganondorf’s ultimate weapons in Hyrule Warriors. This is an exceedingly powerful trident modeled after Ghirahim’s true form and allows Ganon to unleash a variety of electric infused attacks. He can use various combos where he throws it, levitates it around or unleashes bursts and beams of electrical energy.

Triforce of Power

Though not really a “Weapon” per se, the Triforce of Power is the most integral piece of Ganondorf’s arsenal. The Triforce’s three pieces were left behind by the three Golden Goddesses and whoever made a wish on the Triforce would be granted their heart's desire. However, if one did not have a perfect balance of Power, Courage, and Wisdom, they would be left with the piece that best represents them, while the other two would go to those chosen by destiny. After Ganondorf tricked Link in opening the way to the Sacred Realm, he found the Triforce and made his wish to rule over Hyrule. But, since he did not have a proper balance, he was left with the Triforce of Power. Got all of that? Good

The Triforce of Power is the piece that was left behind by Din, the Goddess of Power. As a mere fragment of her own power, this piece of the Triforce is the uppermost piece of the Triforce itself. With it, Ganondorf’s magical abilities are even stronger than before, as is his own strength. He’s also insanely tough to kill as a result, as he becomes far more resistant to traditional weapons. It also lets him do one other important thing, but we’ll get into that later.

Complete Triforce

Now, it should be noted that Ganondorf has, occasionally, collected all of the Triforce pieces before, such as in Wind Waker, the Hero’s Slain ending of Ocarina of Time / A Link to the Past. While it is a rare occurrence, it’s still worth talking about it. With the pieces of the Triforce, Ganondorf was able to take over Hyrule completely and even turned the Sacred Realm into the Dark World, where he had more power and had dominion over pretty much everything that was there. The only thing that stopped him was sealing him away, but even that was but a temporary effort as he was able to return in a lesser form as the wizard Agahnim and become an adviser to the King of Hyrule

Dracula

Subweapons

In Castlevania Judgment - one of the only instances in which he is playable, Dracula has access to certain subweapons that supplement his offense.

  • Jagged Earth: Dracula creates spikes of rock on the ground. This can be used to hurt enemies close by.
  • Gravity Circle: Dracula creates a Gravity Circle around the user, it crushes enemies around the user. If charged it will appear above the opponent - crushing them.
  • Poisonous Blow: Dracula creates a poisonous cloud that can inflict damage onto the opponent.
  • Bat Swarm: Dracula creates a swarm of bats in order to attack the enemy. If charged the bat can explode while in contact with the enemy.

Wine Glass

Perfect for throwing at people and killing kids that want to be guys. You can always find Dracula drinking “wine” from these.

Armies

(Please note: While we don’t know at the time of making this blog if either will have their armies, be it Eggman vs. Wily style with major boss characters or Ultron vs. Sigma style with minions, we are including this section in the off-chance that their armies play a role in this fight.

Due to both sides having a rotating roster of followers, most of whom are either permanently killed off or end up defecting from their respective lieges, the noted armies here will pull from enemies and bosses spread throughout both Zelda and Castlevania history.)

Ganondorf's "Generals"

Zant

Ganondorf’s main puppet during the events of Twilight Princess, Zant is a despot from the Twilight Realm who saw Ganondorf as a god after he had been exiled there. Ganondorf gave him incredible power, allowing him to overthrow the princess of the Twilight Realm: Midna, and transforming her into an imp. In return, Zant helped to invade Hyrule and plunged most of the realm into twilight.

Zant’s powers are pretty insane, as is he. He can conjure up dark magic that can permanently turn Link into a Wolf (or even temporarily), as well as summoning scimitars for him to use in combat, which he does by running around and chopping down anyone and anything that gets in his way. He’s also able to cast illusions, allowing him to bring his opponents into areas that feel as real as they look, including fiery volcanoes or the depths of Lake Hylia. In fact, he’s so powerful, he managed to oneshot the light spirit Lanayru and then called her forth to try and kill Midna.

There’s just one problem with Zant: He’s absolutely nuts. The guy attacks like a madman with seemingly no rhyme or reason to his attacks. While this makes him a dangerous opponent, it also means he can be outsmarted in combat by a better fighter, like Link.

Twinrova

Ganondorf’s surrogate mothers, Koume and Kotake. The two not only raised Ganondorf but also trained him in the ways of dark magic. They are capable of creating dark portals and brainwashing, but in combat, they rely mostly on their fire and ice magic respectively. Though their magics are the weaknesses of each other, they can create powerful beams of magic that can engulf the floor in burning fire or in ice so cold that it covers people in it. The two also have magic brooms that they fly on, because what would a witch be without a broomstick?

However, should the two witches become weakened, they can instead combine their bodies and powers into...well...this:

Yeah...aside from the...new body...Twinrova herself is able to use both forms of magic now, and while she can still be hurt by her own magic, it takes three fully-powered blasts of her own magic to cause any sort of lasting damage to her. She can also fly without a broom, which is probably where Ganondorf gets his ability to do so.

General Onox

General Onox is one of the main antagonists in Oracle of Seasons. General Onox has a variety of attacks: being able to manipulate rock in order to make them fall from the sky in order to hit Link, he can also create tornados. He also has a giant ball and chain that he uses in combat to hit Link. His armor is also extremely hard and Link needs to use the Spin-Attack in order to breakthrough. However, this armored form isn’t even General Onox’s true form as he is secretly a Dragon. In his Dragon Form, he can attack with its claws.

Should he be killed, his soul can be offered up alongside his fellow general, Veran, in a dark ritual initiated by Koume and Kotake. This ritual will allow Ganon to be resurrected if successful.

Veran

Known as the Sorceress of Shadows, Veran serves as a direct servant of Koume and Kotake (Twinrova) alongside General Onox. Veran is adept at possessing others and using them to manipulate and control people to get what she desires. While inhabiting someone’s body, she’s shown the ability to summon forth spiders and fire off multiple balls of flame. However, Veran suffers a peculiar weakness to Mystery Seeds, and these will undo her possession and expel her from the body of her victim.

When faced in a straight up fight, Veran takes on her true form, a large, evil fairy. While in this form, Veran summons up to four copies of her foe that mirror their movements exactly and act as obstacles. She retains her previous powers abilities but with more speed and power and gains an energy attack.

When pushed, Veran relies on transforming into various creatures, including giant demonic versions of a beetle, a bee, and a spider. In these forms, she creates pools of acid, summons bee swarms and fires stingers and slams people she ensnares in her web respectively.
When finally killed, Veran’s soul can be offered up by Koume and Koutake to resurrect Ganon in a ritual, though if they lack sufficient time, Ganon will be returned to life as a raging, unbound beast with no mind or concept of restraint.

Phantoms

One of Ganondorf’s favorite types of minions is Phantoms. He can seemingly conjure them at will, such as the Phantom Riders in Twilight Princess. But the most common phantoms are the ones in his own image. Phantom Ganon, while not nearly as strong as Ganondorf himself, is still a useful subordinate, or at least, enough to be a recurring boss enemy. It can create the same energy ball attack that Ganondorf is able to, and if destroyed, it can be brought back whenever Ganondorf chooses. Though Ganondorf seems to prefer taking things into his own hands if his Phantoms fail him.

If Ganondorf were to somehow turn into Calamity Ganon mid-battle, these Phantoms could become Blight versions of themselves, which are more powerful and have the ability to possess the technology of any kind, even if it's magic-based like the Guardians. These Blight Phantoms can also come if 4 customizable terrors, between Thunderblight, Fireblight, Waterblight, and Windblight.

Master Kohga

Master Kohga is the leader of the "Yiga Clan", which wildly worships Calamity Ganon. (and bananas) He, in particular, has the ability of flight, can create runic shields via Sheikah technology, has telekinesis, and can create and hurl giant Sheikah stones and spiked balls. Don't let his competent appearance fool you though. He has a very lazy leader personality, and despite his superhuman athleticism, he's incredibly clumsy.

Ganondorf's "Pawns"

Darknuts

These warriors usually carry a large sword and shield while fighting Link in combat. They are also heavily armoured - in some versions - Link has to break the armour before doing any sort of damage to the Darknut. In some versions, they can be extremely powerful - as shown with Twilight Princess’s Darknut Mini-Boss.

Chu-Chus

Chu-Chus are creatures made out of living jelly. They come in multiple different colors: Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, and Dark. Depending on their color they have different attacks. Blue and Yellow Chu-Chus are able to produce electricity from their bodies, stunning Link. Dark Chu-Chus can’t be killed by normal attacks and can only be killed with light-based attacks. There are also elemental Chu-Chus such as Ice-Chu-Chus that can create ice that freezes Link in his tracks. Finally, there’s the Rock/Spiny Chu-Chus which have hard surfaces that Link will need to break off before attacking them.

Octoroks

These squid like creatures are usually found in the water and can be a nuisance but not much of a threat. They usually hide in the water and then emerge to fire a rock at Link which can easily be shielded. There are also variants to the Ocotorock such as the Octomine which causes an explosion when hit as well as the flying Octorock which has a limited flight.

Moblins

One of the most iconic enemies in the Zelda series, whilst in combat they usually use a spear or a javelin while in combat which they can use to stab Link. They are fairly basic enemies and can be taken down fairly easily.

These have skeleton subtypes that won't die to damage unless they're hit in the head.

Lizalfos

These Lizard creatures are seen often in the series and usually use a sword while in combat which they seem to be quite skilled in using. In Skyward Sword, they use an Iron Gauntlet instead of a Sword and are capable of breathing fire in order to hurt opponents. In Breath of the Wild - they use a spear while in combat and can use the elements of Fire, Ice, and Electric due to variant versions of Lizalfos.

These happen to have skeleton subtypes who can avoid all damage as long as they aren't hit in the head.

Lynels

These centaur-like creatures are capable of manipulating fire in order to fire fireballs at Link. In Breath of the Wild they are able to use Swords, Shields, Bows, and Spears in order to attack as well. Their bow skills are so advanced that they can perfectly hit you even after being shot directly above them. Lynels have access to every possible bow type besides Guardian Arrows. They also have the ability to teleport whilst in combat on top of being very fast - making them rather difficult to hit.

Wizzrobes

Wizzrobes are typically portrayed as teleporting wizards that shoot small beams of energy. In later installments of the series, they received several elemental variants, such as a fire (shown above), ice and lightning, as well as the ability to turn invisible, intangible, and levitate. Lightning Wizzrobes have the ability to create massive thunderstorms that span far beyond the horizon (est. 1.7 teratons of TNT). As powerful as some variants may be, they all share one devastating weakness: they’re weak to their own magic and said magic can be reflected back at them with little more than a mirror.

Yiga Clan

10,000 years before the events of Breath of the Wild, when Ganon was sealed under Hyrule Castle, it was thanks to the ancient Sheikah technology that this was possible, but after the sealing, Hylians became fearful of the Sheikah and their technology and decided to banish the technology and any Sheikah who had complaints with this despite their major help in defeating Ganon. While some of the Sheikah decided to give up the technology in order to appease the King of Hyrule at the time and his subjects, others became hateful towards Hyrule and left their own people to start their own clan hellbent on serving Calamity Ganon and his desire to destroy Hyrule by any means necessary.

There are two variations of these clansmen between Footsoldiers and Swordmasters. Footsoldiers are generally more quick and agile and like to toss multiple throwing knives, while Swordmasters are the brawn and use a Windcleaver, capable of shooting off beams of wind capable of cutting through things and people. Both can also teleport and magically disguise themselves immediately (being perfect down to the voice). They're also masters of stealth and like to lurk in the shadows waiting for an opportunity to strike.

Despite their amazing competency however you can easily distract or outsmart them with bananas. Why bananas? Because they fucking love them, that’s why.

Dracula's "Generals"

Death

The Grim Reaper himself, Death swore fealty to Dracula when he obtained the Crimson Stone prior to his transformation into a vampire. Out of all of the vampire lord’s servants, he is probably the most loyal and powerful among them, often acting as the final challenge any vampire hunter must conquer before facing Dracula directly.

As with his master, Death is immune to all but magically-enchanted weapons; holy weapons are his noted weakness while he has a massive resistance to darkness-infused magicks. With his trusted scythe, he can summon souls from the afterlife, open gates to Hell, utilize various forms of magic and transform himself and his scythe into other forms and weapons. He himself cannot permanently be killed, although defeating his manifestations can incapacitate him.

Death’s Scythe is considered one of the most powerful items in the Castlevania universe. He can control it telepathically and if it cuts into an enemy, it will drag out their soul. For a quick example, watch him murder Luigi in cold blood in Simon’s reveal trailer for Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

Death also conveniently can teleport objects and people besides himself. He has used this to strip Alucard of all his weapons and abilities, placing them under the guard of various bosses throughout Symphony of the Night.

Death can also masterfully disguise himself as he did in Curse of Darkness to trick Hector into speeding up the process of Dracula’s revival by trapping and killing him, making him into a host body.

In Portrait of Ruin, Death can directly fight alongside Dracula, and the two of them have several combination attacks that mix effects from their standard spells. Should he fall, he can offer his soul to Dracula, powering him enough so that he can attain his true form; Dracula also gains access to Death’s scythe to enhance his own power further.

Carmilla

A sadistic vampiress who worships Dracula as a god and enjoys hunting humans for sport, often accompanied by her servant Laura. In the early 15th century, her schemes and killing sprees made her responsible for bringing about the witch trials that orphaned Sypha Belnades, in turn leading the latter down the path of becoming a hunter for the Church. And, unlike what the Netflix show would have you believe, Carmilla is actually fiercely loyal to Dracula and is sometimes the one responsible for his resurrection, like in Circle of the Moon.

Carmilla often manifests as a woman who controls a floating mask or skull that sheds tears of blood that can deal damage; this is how she is fought as a boss in games like Simon’s Quest or Rondo of Blood. On her own, she is a talented hand-to-hand combatant, capable of using a grappling hook attached to her right arm to draw enemies closer and even creating an iron maiden out of nowhere to trap foes in.

She can also use daggers, poisonous clouds, exploding bat swarms, and can crush enemies with gravity manipulation.

I want her to step on me

Hector and Isaac

Dracula’s Devil Forgemasters, notable for being two of the only humans who have joined his army of their own volition. Both served him for years and even grew to become close confidants to their liege akin to Death, although Hector soon grew tired of the violence and defected, leaving Isaac as the sole Forgemaster. The events of Curse of Darkness revolves around their rivalry following Hector’s defection, where Isaac attempts to lure him into Castlevania and turn him into a host body for Dracula’s resurrection.

As masters of black magic and alchemy, the Devil Forgemasters can create various arcane weapons and gear from whatever material they can get their hands on. They are also capable of creating “Innocent Devils”, monsters that grow more powerful in combat and hold a fierce loyalty to their creators. The power and knowledge afforded to them through this process are said to even rival Death’s own; Hector himself has even defeated Death and Dracula (albeit in a half-resurrected state in Isaac’s body), and stalemated Trevor Belmont in a fight.

Shaft

No, not the badass movie cop.

In 1792, he kidnapped several young women to offer as brides to Dracula. Two of these girls were Maria Renard and Anette, the distant relative and fiancé respectively to Richter Belmont, the protagonist of Rondo of Blood. Said game’s events revolve around him saving each of the captured women from Dracula’s army and defeating each of his generals - Shaft chief among them. Despite dying, his soul persisted onward to set the events of Symphony of the Night in motion, where he ultimately meets his end at the hands of Alucard.

He has mastered multiple types of magic, (fire, ice, electricity, etc…) chief among them the art of necromancy. After his original death, he continued to project himself from a sphere that contained his soul, still capable of the same tricks he can accomplish normally. In his boss battle from Rondo of Blood, he summons the four original bosses from the first Castlevania to battle Richter: the Werewolf, Giant Bat, Medusa, and Creature.

Frankenstein

Frankenstein, AKA The Creature, is extremely powerful - being able to cause debris to fall from the building. It also has complete control over electricity - summoning lightning from the sky or creating lighting from his fingers. He is also able to launch heat-seeking missiles or a series of machine-gun bullets from its elbow's mounted turret. He can also create blue beams in Castlevania Rondo of Blood

Medusa

Medusa is a legendary monster with living venomous snakes in place of hair, whose gaze can turn her victims to stone. She’s typically been portrayed as having a serpent-like lower body, but she has also been little more than a giant head on several occasions. Medusa also seems to have the ability to summon and control large numbers of snakes. She’s easily one of Dracula’s weakest generals, but her petrification ability is nothing to scoff at.

Dracula's "Pawns"

Skeletons

Skeletons are some of the most common enemies you will find in the Castlevania Series. Standard Skeletons are extremely non-threatening - often only throwing a bone at the enemy before being quickly defeated but the Skeletons have numerous variants to them such as Blood Skeletons, Armored Skeletons, Flying Skeletons, Anthro Skeletons, Giant Ape Skeletons, Skeleton Divers, Hanging Skeletons, Waiter Skeletons, Kicker Skeletons, and Frisky Skeletons.

Yes, that is a lot of skeletons.

Bats

One of Dracula’s most common minions is regular bats. They don’t have much combat capabilities and simply are used as a minor inconvenience (flying into a passing Vampire Hunter and bumping into them). There is also a variant called the Giant Bat which can split into three different beasts and shoot fireballs from its mouth.

Werewolves

Dracula controls an army of rabid werewolves. These werewolves are extremely deadly and quick, dashing around the area and using claws to quickly swipe at a Vampire Hunter they come across.

Armors

Armors are some of the most versatile members of Dracula’s army. While they’re most commonly seen wielding axes and spears, there are 20 other variants that have been seen within the walls of Castlevania: Crossbow Armor, Hill Guard Armor, Final Guard Armor, Great Armor, Heavy Armor, Dark Armor, Devil Armor, Earth Armor, Flame Armor, Forest Armor, Holy Armor, Ice Armor, Poison Armor, Stone Armor, Thunder Armor, Light Armor, Wind Armor, Flying Armor, Bomber Armor and Rock Armor.

Yes, that is also a lot of Armors.

Mermen

Mermen live in the water and are usually found in underground areas, but have also been seen above ground, guarding Castlevania’s moat during the events of Simon’s Quest. They will leap out of bodies of water in order to attack a Vampire Hunter. They can also shoot fireballs or streams of water as ways of attacking.

Golems

These massive Golems are extremely powerful creatures easily capable of causing rocks to fall with a simple stomp. Their punches are known to be especially destructive - easily taking out a Vampire Hunter in a few short hits. They also use boulders by hurling them or vomiting them from their mouths. Iron Golems can make it rain gears as an attack as well as shoot exploding sparks, temporarily boost its own strength, and heal itself.

The last Golem is the most powerful, being a cyborg made by Carmilla, and having its own sentience, making it more intelligent than any other Golem. This Golem in particular has beaten Carmilla, Death, Aeon, and the Time Reaper in a fight. It uses a large axe, can shoot lightning, can shoot a massive lightning based laser out of its mouth, can control earth, and can crush anything that comes near it with gravity manipulation. It also can quickly roll around to get to places, making it incredibly fast despite its large size.

Medusa Heads

Fuck Medusa Heads - Malcolm Belmont

In all seriousness, Medusa Heads are able to levitate and fly towards the enemy. Golden Medusa Heads are also able to petrify enemies - turning them to stone. They’re easily the most irritating Castlevania enemies in the series.

Fleaman

Fleamen are small hunchbacked people that are extremely fast and aggressive, constantly attacking enemy Vampire Hunters. They love to hop around and hitch rides on other enemies as well, such as Griffons and The Creature. There are also variants on the Fleaman such as Death Rippers who use knives as well as Armoured Fleaman who use axes and are coated in armour.

Dracula

Accomplishments

  • Is generally considered to have enough power to rival God.
  • Almost beat Shanoa and he would have killed her if she had not used a Glyph specifically forged from his own power.
  • Beat Alucard in their first fight and forced him to retreat.
  • In the Netflix series, he pretty much mopped the floor with Trevor Belmont, Sypha Belnades, and Alucard in a three-on-one fight
  • As Soma, he beat Julius Belmont in a one-on-one fight
  • As Soma, he defeated Chaos
  • Successfully cursed Simon Belmont, forcing Simon to have to resurrect him to get rid of it; if Simon takes too long to resurrect Dracula, the curse ends up killing him.
  • Has continued to revive himself through making sure people remember his existence.
  • Has yet to ever be replaced as Dark Lord, even by those like Galamoth, who seek to usurp him
  • Despite having a bit of a Belmont problem, has successfully killed many vampire hunters
  • One of the most recognizable fictional villains in human history (even if it's mostly for the Bram Stoker version)

Weaknesses

Ganondorf

Ganondorf is always a huge threat to Hyrule whenever he comes around, and his power is insane, but he is far from invincible. For starters, he has officially been “killed” several times before. Yes, he always comes back, whether as himself or as Ganon, but that usually takes a few generations before he can be resurrected.

Now, thanks to the power of the Triforce, Ganon can shrug off most conventional weapons, but he’s still very much vulnerable to them - they just need to pack enough of a punch. Ganon’s being “weak” to holy weapons is also a bit of a common misunderstanding, as they simply bypass Ganon’s resistances. While those are his two biggest weaknesses, there is nothing saying that enough brute force can’t put him down; it’s entirely possible for Link to kill him with mundane weapons in some Zelda games.

And, as with most villains, Ganondorf can be arrogant at times and has been outsmarted before by others, like when Zelda was able to evade his detection under the guise of Sheik, or when King Daphnes was able to wish on the Triforce when Ganondorf had gathered the pieces together.

Dracula

Dracula can’t really “die” in the normal sense, but he has been, for all intents and purposes, killed by several foes before, usually someone from the Belmont Clan or closely related to them. That being said, most conventional weapons that aren’t holy-elemental or silver don’t have an effect on him. Additionally, in certain games, Dracula and his transformed variations have been harmed, or even killed, by sunlight, but this weakness tends to vary depending on the game in question.

Dracula also like a typical vampire, has a weakness to wooden stakes being stabbed into his heart, and will effectively be killed by it if done.

One final supposed weakness is that Dracula can only really be hurt if you hit him in the head. This comes from the Bram Stoker novel and is his weak point in the games, though it’s likely that enough force to any part of his body can still do lasting damage.

Beyond that, Dracula only comes back every 100 years or so, but he can be resurrected by one of his followers - he himself admits that it is not by his power he returns from death, but by the machinations of his fanatical followers. However, from 1999 onward in the Castlevania series, Dracula was technically dead. He was still alive, but he was inhabiting the body of Soma Cruz, who was his reincarnation; Dracula only fully returns in this instance in the non-canon “Julius” mode, where Soma succumbs to his influence and Julius Belmont - the very man who killed Dracula in 1999 - is forced to kill him.

Summary

Ganondorf

Advantages:
  • Is extremely difficult to kill without holy weapons, though not impossible
  • Technically has the experience edge considering how many times Ganondorf has appeared
  • Complete-Triforce Ganondorf/Ganon could be at the same level of Dracula, but it’s non-standard
  • Can counter Dracula’s ranged attacks with telekinesis and projectile reflection
  • Could potentially harm Dracula with the Sword of the Sages
  • Has a quicker resurrection method
  • Doriyah kills at very early percentages

Disadvantages:
  • Dracula has considerably more hax then Ganondorf that can bypass Ganondorf’s defenses
  • Is less intelligent and cunning than Dracula
  • Dracula has multiple stellar to multiversal feats that put him far above anything Ganondorf is capable of
  • Dracula scaling to FTL - MFTL+ feats from Belmonts and Alucard makes Ganondorf much slower by comparison
  • Less powerful and capable army
  • It’s unknown how Ganondorf obtained his Calamity Ganon form and if he could do so mid battle, making it a much less viable option in a vs debate, eliminating his ability to revive dead forces
  • Is far less durable than Dracula
  • Stuck in Smash Clone Hell
  • Wasn’t present in Something About World of Light while Dracula was

Dracula

Advantages:
  • Many stellar to multiversal feats that put him far above any of Ganondorf’s feats
  • Scales to his son, Alucard who’s capable of crossing an entire alternate universe in a short amount of time, making him faster than Ganondorf by a massive margin
  • Dracula’s hax is greatly superior to Ganondorf
  • Also counters pretty much all of Ganondorf’s hax
  • Has superior transformations (and more of them to boot)
  • Is much more cunning and intelligent than Ganondorf
  • Can go intangible and make it so his body is intangible in his normal fighting form, save for his head
  • Has a far better and more varied set of weapons and abilities
  • More powerful army with more varied abilities
  • Death can steal Ganondorf's weapons (including the biggest threat to Dracula, the Sword of Sages) as well as his army's weaponry
  • WHAT IS A MAN (suggested viewing: diemonster.wmv)
  • Starred in the best adaptation of a video game of all time. Watch Castlevania on Netflix. Please.

Disadvantages:
  • Has less experience than Ganondorf
  • Focuses a lot on long-ranged combat which Ganondorf can easily counter with telekinesis, teleportation, and projectile reflection
  • His head is an easy weak spot to remember
  • Trapped in pachinko and mobile hell
  • His Simon’s Quest appearance

Verdicts

Ramen=Noodles

yeah i’m not sure where i was going with this too but yeah welcome to the darkness world where everything is every villain is lemons ALSO FUCK YEAH CASTLEVANIA ON MY BIRTHDAY WEEK (and also overwatching switch and gerry from the river)

So Oldmanondorf is back after he had a fight 3 years ago we could generously say “existed”, and it’s against the guy who actually made 100000x more thematic sense than Bowser did. Shout-outs to the OG fan blog for finally getting to work on a fight they’ve wanted from a near decade ago, and to the Smash Academia guys for bringing this to fruition.

Not gonna lie, this episode is a pretty big shot of energy in the arm for me. A good majority of the matches this year haven’t really been my cup of tea investment-wise when compared to how previous seasons went down, and while it was cool to see characters like Mitsuru and Ghost Rider get some dubs, bringing in Castlevania with Dracula as the first rep is exciting as fuck, especially since this is prime time to educate you lovely people about how utterly broken the entire series is VS-wise. I really want Drac to win, and in all honesty, he should.

Simply put, Dracula can sneeze on Ganondorf once, throw his wine glass at him or literally will him out of existence itself with a thought and the fight would end right there and then. I’m not kidding, and neither are my mates here - Castlevania is that OP.

As one of the top tiers within an extremely broken universe VS-wise, Dracula’s power output ranges from Solar System to Multiversal depending on how strict or generous you are with interpreting Castlevania feats, and even SS alone is enough to take a dump on anything the entire Zelda timeline has. It’s theoretically possible to bump Ganondorf up to Universal via handing him the full Triforce, but that’s with a heavy degree of lenience on his end, and it’d only be fair to apply that same lenience to Dracula as well if we had to do that. If you’re equally trying to take both combatants at their utmost maximum potential and even the complete opposite of that by downplaying them to high hell, Dracula’s still more likely to win out in any case.

Speed is also a bit of a no-contest too. Castlevania is chock full of enemies and bosses far below Dracula’s level capable of FTL attacks, so it stands to reason that as their superior, Drac gets that scaling. Those speeds by comparison are sorta hard to come by in Zelda, so Dorf is stuck fighting an opponent who he can’t even touch, let alone actually hurt. It doesn’t help that while he is the better melee combatant by virtue of his sword fights against Link and isn’t above projectile spamming and teleporting to counter Dracula’s predominantly long-range fighting style, Drac’s still leagues faster in the end.

Here’s the more detailed breakdown: Ganondorf by himself is about Island based off of his island busting feat from Wind Waker, and with the Triforce of Power that could rise up to being Multi-Continent based on scaling to other Zelda bosses like Onox. The full Triforce could be argued as giving him Planet via it holding the planet together, and even Universal via the one wish that collecting all three pieces of it grants him, but that’s pretty contentious on its own. Speed-wise, he’s topping around Relativistic speeds from dodging Link’s Light Arrows.

At bare minimum, Dracula should be at Solar System from Brauner’s portrait pocket dimensions in Portrait of Ruin, and there’s multiple pieces of evidence that solidly support him being Universal-level too: the Abyss, the Time Reaper, warping Castlevania into the Chaotic Realm, etc. Many of the fodder he commands all possess attacks that reach past FTL speeds, so as their superior, Dracula should have no issue surpassing them. There’s also the matter of Soma and Alucard escaping the Chaotic Realm for more MFTL goodness. Tl;dr: Dorf is stat-stomped.

So I don’t want to have to dwell too much on what happened last time Ganondorf was on the show, but just to put things in perspective, here’s a few questions to ponder on when trying to apply the Bowser verdict to Ganon this time around:

Can he outwit Dracula? Not so much. Ganondorf does have the experience advantage because of how spread out his appearances across the Zelda timeline are, but Dracula isn’t stupid -- far from it. His leftover experience as a military tactician has served him well in his new role as Dark Lord, and a decent amount of the techno-wizardry inside his castle is by his own design, so he could easily exploit any errors in Ganondorf’s own tactics if the opportunity arises.

What about holy weapons? Both have this particular NLF as it were, and funny enough, it actually doesn’t matter because they have those exact tools at their disposal. Ganondorf’s obviously rocking the Sword of the Six Sages, which was used to grievously injure him before, so it stands to reason that it’ll hurt Dracula too. He’s also got the Triforce backing him up; regardless of whether he’ll only have the Triforce of Power or the full thing, its divine nature as a creation of the gods makes it pretty close to a holy weapon for him to use.

The explanation for Dracula’s going to be a bit longer here, although the short of it is that nearly every attack he has can be classified as “holy”. For starters, his signature Demonic Megiddo could be performed by an Innocent Devil in Curse of Darkness, and the attack’s description states that it utilizes “holy flames”. Seeing how that’s a low level demon imitating it, stands to reason that Dracula’s own variant has these flames as well. Not convinced? When Shanoa kills him in Order of Ecclesia, she does so with Dominus - a fragment of Dracula’s power, and seeing as how it should be established that only holy weapons can kill him off, it also stands to reason that his entire kit should have the label on it by this point.

Can’t he just curse Dracula like the Great Deku Tree? Obviously the biggest sticking point of Ganondorf’s win over Bowser because of the sheer “nope” of it all, but even if that specific interpretation of Ganon cursing was true, it wouldn’t actually matter. Dracula is immune to being cursed, and more importantly, he can curse others too; as far as our research goes, we’ve never found anything stating or showing that Ganondorf can resist curses himself.

That argument remains true for the rest of their powerset: nearly anything Ganondorf does, Dracula can do as well - often being better at it too. More importantly, Dracula is capable of countering or resisting whatever Ganondorf can throw, and the same can't be said in reverse. He even possesses different ways to kill Dorf off with powers his opponent lacks altogether:

Controlling minds and possessing people like Zelda? Dracula can do that too. Resurrecting the dead? Same deal. Soul hax? Dorf doesn’t have much of it, whereas Dracula can and will be free to abuse it for an easy kill. Erasure from existence? Theoretically possible if Ganondorf had the full Triforce and burned his wish on it, but not only is that situational because of non-standard equipment, Dracula can do the same with his own power.

Also, uh… maybe don’t have them bring their armies. Unless you’d prefer that Death do to all of Ganondorf’s generals the same thing he did to Luigi a year ago.

Overall, while Ganondorf is a freakishly powerful warrior in his own right - all the respect and fear in the world to that and all, nothing he’s packing can prepare him to confront a being who is just that much more powerful, twisted and evil than him. I’m going with Dracula to take the throne in a few days’ time, and FFS, I’m hoping he does.

I have this habit of predicting when future fights - happened with Sasuke vs Hiei but also happened with Ganondorf vs Dracula and ya know what, I am very happy that I was proven to be right with this one. This matchup is one I have wanted for ages but i wasn’t quite sure how SA would do it sprites because if the extremely limited nature of Dracula’s sprites which basically forces Ganondorf to do all the movement and attacks if they were to use the Castlevania sprites. I personally felt the fight would work far better in 3D due to that but i wasn’t sure if it would ever happen in 3D because I thought they would prioritize other potential 3D DBs over Ganondorf vs Dracula and i am glad to be proven very wrong. Plus the fact that it is being animated by the likes of DevilArtmesis and the guy behind My Smash Academia means that it’s going to be an extremely hype animation. But enough talking about why I am glad that it’s going to end up being 3D over 2D let’s talk about the fight itself.

I am hoping that this verdict will be a little bit shorter to my other ones considering that this is arguably the biggest stomp in this season but I digress and then there’s of course the big elephant in the run when it comes to Castlevania in a VS Battle that being “A Cosmic Castlevania: A Series Analysis” which is a Document made by VSBW User Matthew Schroeder. Here’s a link to that document, anyway this Document has been discussed many times on the VS Scene and if it’s 100% legit because if it is - it would put the Castlevania Cast at around Universe Level at the very least (possibly Multiversal depending on who you ask). Personally while i am not going to go into the arguments - for and against Universe Level Castlevania because i don’t want this verdict to go on for too long. I will say that I completely believe in this document and it’s belief that Castlevania characters are Universe Level at the very least.

The main argument that this Document lays out is that Dracula warped and moved his castle . He also created a dimension containing numerous stars .Dracula should also be above Brauner, who created multiple dimensions containing moons, suns and stars (as shown in the areas in Portrait of Ruin. This should that Galamoth feared Dracula’s power so much so that he didn’t make a move against him. Galamoth in order to beat Dracula needed to erase the fabric of time completely before he could make a single action against Dracula (The Time Reaper/Galamoth should be universe level considering they were re-writing the universe). Even ignoring this, Dracula has still beaten Universe Level opponents in the form of Soma Cruz who defeated Menace - who collapsed the Abyss which has been stated to be an entire universe upon dying. Soma Cruz is definitely comparable to Dracula in terms of power. As such, there can be no doubt that Dracula would be around Universe Level in terms of Destructive Capability.

What about Ganondorf? You may ask as if Ganondorf is higher than Universe Level then surely Dracula would more than enough to handle? Well unfournley for him even if we High-Ball Ganondorf - he definitely loses in the Destructive Capability area. Well Ganondorf’s best feat is that during the events of Wind Waker - he managed to stop the planets rotation to create an endless night across the Great Sea. The fact that he can affect an entire planet and stop it’s rotation would put him solidly at Planet Level. But what about the Complete Triforce? Wouldn’t Ganondorf have access to that in the DEATH BATTLE and would make him solidly Universe Level? Well yes the Triforce is definitely Universe Level as it Its mere existence sustains the Sacred Realm which is a whole universe onto itself, and turned it into the Dark World. But Ganondorf has only managed to get the complete Triforce 2 times in total and never really uses it to its full power so giving him the completed Triforce is extremely dubious since he basically only used in once and never used it to its full potential. So no in a fight - i doubt Ganondorf would be given the Full Triforce. Even if he would be given the Triforce - he would only be able to match Dracula in destructive capability - not surpass him and considering the other areas in which Dracula wins - having equal destructive capability will likely not be enough.

“So Dracula most likely has the edge in Destructive Capability and Durability but isn’t Ganondorf only harmed by Holy Weapons”. That’s not really true, while Ganondorf is certainly weaker to holy weapons - he has been harmed and killed by regular weapons that do not have Holy Magic. In Zelda 1 he was killed by a regular magical sword that likely wasn’t holy. Even if you ignore this and say that he can only be killed by Holy Weapons - Dracula has several means of killing Ganondorf completely. Ganondorf for all his power - still as a soul and can easily be killed by Soul Erasure or Soul Stealing - both of which Dracula has. Dracula as Soma once erased Death from existence despite him being an entity almost as powerful as Dracula himself so there is no reason why Dracula couldn’t simply erase Ganondorf from existence.

On the other side, Ganondorf has no means of killing Dracula either since Dracula can only be truly be killed by holy weapons or glyphs made out of his own creation. Ganondorf’s arsenal while containing a lot of Magical Weapons and spells doesn’t really contain anything powerful or holy enough to take down Dracula for good.

So Dracula has the Destructive Capability due to taking down Universe Level Entities, He can’t be killed by Ganondorf due to not only not nearly having the Destructive Capability needed (Universe Level Durability to Planet Level Destructive Capability) in order to end Dracula for good but Dracula has a much wider arsenal that could be used to end Ganondorf for good (Soul Erasure for example). Superior Transformations (which I didn't really go into detail but Dracula should easily have the superior transformations considering how many of them there are and how powerful they are) and is more cunning and tactical in his approach to combat. I don’t see how Ganondorf could possibly win this matchup with all of these factors going against it. Ultimately - Dracula has the edge in almost every category meaning Dracula is going to kill Ganondorf before he can kill Dracula. Looks like Dracula is the true video game king of evil.

Wolf/Swiftwind/MLDKF

Watching the battle between Anime Edgelords Meh.

Sees the one-stroke fight Oooh. I love whenever things like this happen

Sees Sasuke die Hm...on one hand, pretty sure that’s not right. On the other, f**k you Sasuke!

The episode finishes Meh, still not a fan of this episode. Alright, what’s next

Ganondorf vs. Dracula is announced Seriously~!? This is finally happening!? OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-

Wolf has died from hype overload...he got better

You thought I was gone? I think not, my friends. Because like our two fighters, I always return. Anyway, enough of the jokes. Let’s talk about how I think this fight’s going to go down

So, first off, CHEESE AND RICE is this a long blog. I though Ben vs. Hal had a ton of pages. I’m writing this part of my prediction at 10 AM on the 12th, which is the Saturday before the fight airs and the day before the post should be going live. At this current moment, with all the stuff we have, assuming nobody adds in even more stuff, we are at 96 pages for this blog. Could we reach 100, certainly. Will we? Maybe not. Do I want us too, I don’t know.

You might be wondering why I just made a paragraph talking about how long this blog is, and that’s because…well, what do I even say here? This fight, awesome as it is, and while featuring my all-time favorite villain ever, is a total stomp against said villain. I love Ganondorf. The guy’s probably the second villain I ever saw in a video game (first being Sephiroth), and the Zelda series is my all-time favorite franchise...but there’s no way he could seriously win.

Let’s break this down for you in case the previous people and everyone below me can’t: Dracula’s power is absolutely insane. Just disregarding all the hax he has, which are far more powerful than any of Ganondorf’s, Dracula is much faster, more durable, and FAR stronger. Like, when you have respected people in the versus scene arguing that you may be Multiversal in strength, you know you’re broken. Personally, I don’t think he’s nearly that strong, but even scaling him down, Dracula is still ridiculously powerful compared to the likes of Ganondorf, who can get to planet level at best, and that’s with some generosity and scaling.

“But Dracula doesn’t have a holy weapon while Ganondorf does, and Ganondorf even survived getting stabbed by one” some of you may be arguing. 1. Dracula’s powerful enough that he doesn’t need one. 2. Even with a holy weapon, it won’t help Ganondorf if he can’t even hit Dracula. 3. Ganondorf still can’t actually hurt Dracula even with a holy weapon which, might I add, Dracula’s taken multiple hits from as well and survived.

“But Ganondorf is universal because he scales to Link and Link fought Majora and Majora created a universe” I saw this argument for Ganondorf’s power once, and this was basically my reaction. If you actually look at the context of that idea, it seems more like an illusion on Majora’s part. And even if we gave the people saying this the benefit of the doubt, the same people arguing this also agree that Dracula at max power is multiversal

“But Dracula has been taken down by one guy all the time, and they don’t need holy weapons while Ganondorf’s only ever died to the Master Sword and Ganon to the Master Sword or Silver, and sometimes he needs to be attacked by both Link and Zelda to do so” How quickly you forget that Dracula’s taken on three opponents with incredible magic and weapons and beaten them, as well as needing four people to stop him in Castlevania III, and the only time he was permanently killed was when he was basically attacked by an entire army full of mages and people with weapons specifically designed to kill him.

To be blunt, there really is no way for Dracula to reasonably lose this fight. Other characters that have lost, you could make arguments for, but there really is no legitimate argument that gives Ganondorf the win here. Any argument you could make for him basically can be boiled down to “Dracula can do that, but better” G-man, you are amazing, but you’re about to be made into a new decoration for Castlevania assuming your body isn’t obliterated. Ganondorf will know that it’s a horrible night to fight Dracula as the Vampire is a Killer to the King of Evil

It's great to be back on this blog after sitting out from one for so long. But you aren’t here to hear me ramble on about how it feels good to be back on this blog, you came here for a prediction on who would win between Ganondorf and Dracula. Well you have come to the right place, friend. Let's start breaking down on who I believe will win between these two most iconic lords of darkness in the history of video games  ̶t̶h̶o̶u̶g̶h̶ ̶i̶t̶ '̶s̶ ̶b̶e̶c̶o̶m̶e̶ ̶o̶b̶v̶i̶o̶u̶s̶ ̶a̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶p̶o̶i̶n̶t̶ ̶w̶h̶o̶ ̶w̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶w̶i̶n̶ ̶i̶f̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶r̶e̶a̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶r̶o̶u̶g̶h̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶w̶h̶o̶l̶e̶ ̶b̶l̶o̶g̶ ̶t̶h̶o̶r̶o̶u̶g̶h̶l̶y̶, b̶u̶t̶ ̶I̶ ̶d̶i̶g̶r̶e̶s̶s̶  anyways let's get started shall we?

Strength/Durability: When it comes to strength and durability, Ganondorf’s best feat or at least scales to is being more powerful than Volvagia, whose power caused a volcanic eruption powerful enough to clear a group of clouds and being comparable to Link, who has defeated Gyorg, same one who can increase the heat of the Great Bay to the point of making it barely inhabitable both feats put Ganondorf between City Level-Island Level. Meanwhile Dracula being the Lord of Chaos, he is powerful enough to sustain his own Castle, the Abyss and Chaotic Realm which itself is its own universe which has contained its own solar systems, stars and black holes, he’s also capable of defeating the Time Reaper who threatens to destroy multiple timelines as well as being superior to Aeon who could create alternate universes… All these feats and scaling put Dracula at Universe Level-Multiverse Level. And in this category Dracula easily eclipses Ganondorf by a mile. Even by direct feats, Dracula is packing far more of a punch than Ganondorf is… Ganondorf can punch a hole through the ground so what? Dracula can do the same, but shockwaves as a results, also being physically strong to tear off limbs from even just as a mere slap. Ganondorf may be able to survive an entire building/temple collapsing on him, but Dracula can survive being decapitated only to have his entire head regenerate back when he reforms into a new form… Sooo uhhh yeah Ganondorf got nothing on that. The highest Strength and Durability you could argue for Zelda being at is Planet Level, but even that’s not even enough for him to harm Dracula and even if you go as far as to downplay Dracula to Planet Level, he still wins thanks to being to cause an eclipse with his telekinesis which came out at Large Planet Level, and even if you give them the benefit of the doubt of equalizing both of their APs and Dura, Drac would still come out on top for multiple reasons. But overall I give the Strength and Durability advantage to Dracula.

Speed:  So what about speed, surely they are even right? Considering both are capable of moving faster than the human eye could track. Unfortunately not, Dracula can consistently keep with Belmonts and other Castlevania characters who are fast enough to react to or move in tandem with light-based attacks  which would put Dracula and the Castlevania character’s combat and reaction speeds at FTL-MFTL+ and depending how you choose to interpret this particular feat, there is also the fact that Dracula as Soma escaped the Abyss with his son, Alucard disguised as Genya (reminder he was depowered) within a short timeframe which comes in at about 2 Quintillion c. Ganondorf’s best speed feats often rely on scaling to Link who has been able to dodge and react to Onox’s lightning which has come out between Hypersonic-Massively Hypersonic+, if you wanna be generous there is also Link being able react to a Beamo’s light beams they come out at Relativistic speeds at most. Even with that taken into account, Dracula still blitzes Ganondorf immensely thus he would land far more consistent hits on him or apply his haxes much faster in combat then he could react. So Dracula gets the advantage in Speed as well.

Hax/Abilities: Ganondorf and Dracula many similar magical abilities and haxes, however essentially anything Ganondorf is capable of doing, Dracula is able to do as well, but better and on a grander scale. Teleportation? Dracula utilizes this himself too. Telekinesis? He has that too. Intangibility? You bet Dracula has it too. Inflict Death Curses? Dracula can do that as well and if Ganondorf tries using any of his on the Lord of Darkness it wouldn’t work considering he is immune to them, but Ganondorf himself is not immune to having curses inflicted on him. Dracula possess other abilities that could truly screw over Ganondorf big time such as Telepathy, Soul Manipulation, Reality Warping, Conceptual Manipulation, Time Manipulation, Blood-Draining, Matter Manipulation and Transmutation. And there NO evidence to support that Ganondorf can resist any of these. So yeah edge to Dracula in this category.

Intelligence/Experience: Both Ganondorf and Dracula have been alive for many generations and centuries with tons of combat experience under their belts, one could try say that Ganondorf is a more experienced fighter, but considering that before Dracula became he was. He was once a human named Mathias Cronqvist during this time he was a gifted military strategist and tactician, but most a gifted fighter in his own right. So Dracula would be to use his knowledge and experience to his advantage for cunning and deceptive tactics that would throw Ganondorf off of his game. So Dracula also gets the edge in Experience.

Overall Ganondorf really does not have anything that could possibly help him win in this fight, even with the Sword of Sages because he is too far outclassed in nearly every category to date for it to even matter. Even if Ganondorf does manage to land a hit on Dracula with the Sword of Sages, Drac himself has shown that he is able to tank holy-related attacks and still kept on fighting despite that with being significantly weakened. So with that being said, I predict that Dracula will prove himself to be the True Lord of Darkness over Ganondorf in this Death Battle.

A legendary fight is finally being made after so long. This fight is such a huge hallmark for DB and their research team, so needless to say, all we can try to do is match the passion and love they had for the original blog so long ago.

With that being said, this is a pretty clear cut fight. Putting aside the idea that neither can be killed without holy weapons (which is somewhat disproved based on fights where they can be killed without them), a one on one between these two easily ends with Dracula winning simply because he has far more damning strength feats, speed feats, and magical abilities. For every insane magical ability Ganondorf has that could put Dracula down, Dracula has the same and more. Dracula can mess with Ganon's head, warp reality against him, destroy or absorb his soul, drain Ganondorf of his blood by touching him, and can stop time on a dime.

Ganondorf being the conqueror he is, will be stepping foot into Castlevania, which is already one of the gravest mistakes he can make, given it's a dimension that Dracula has full control over in every possible aspect, which could very well include creating or summoning his various army units, even if this isn't an army battle.

Speaking of armies, Dracula's is not only more powerful, but practical. They have far more abilities among them and ones that can not only screw over Ganon's army, but Ganon himself. Death can steal Ganondorf and his army's equipment and teleport it away from them, on top of him having outrageous soul hax. He can also lend Dracula the life of his avatar to not only bring him away from the brink of death but fuse with him to create Merged Dracula, an even more powerful version of his Beast Form that gives him access to duplicate and telepathically control the most powerful item in the Castlevania universe, Death's Scythe. The mooks of Dracula's army also have more hax and varying abilities than Ganondorf's. Some of the mooks are also hardly even to be called mooks, with some rivaling Death in power.

In terms of transformations, Dracula has a LOT to pull from while Ganondorf is likely just going to be stuck with Ganon, as Calamity Ganon has no current origin or explanation as to how he achieved the form. This also detrimental to Ganondorf because it makes him unable to use the Blood Moon to resurrect any fallen soldiers, and having only one transformation to use means Dracula is going to be getting stronger and stronger throughout most of the match while Ganon's going to have to remain stagnant after giving up his intelligent planning for raw power.

Lastly, Ganondorf has no way of knowing any of Dracula's big weaknesses as vampires aren't exactly a thing in Legend of Zelda, but he'll likely figure Drac is evil enough that the Sword of Sages might do something to Dracula, and should Dracula find out the sword is holy, will probably try to take it to use on Ganondorf for the same reason.

Not to say things are stacked against Ganondorf completely, but there's a very obvious winner here, and it's the true horror icon himself, Dracula. Happy Halloween!

Alright, the Bowser slayer is back.

Hopefully we’ll get Bowser again in the future.

Also GG Hiei. Suffice it to say, I’m surprised. That’s twice in a row now, so something’s up.

Anyway, like the others have said, this is a big deal. While I honestly would’ve been completely fine with a Mario VS Sonic-esque redo of Bowser VS Ganondorf, this is too much of a big deal to pass up when you think about it. This was the research team’s first prediction blog, all because of some guy wanting to do a comic for it(that I’m pretty sure was never finished, but I could be wrong). When Bowser v Ganondorf was announced, while I was ecstatic, I can only imagine the research team was rather disappointed knowing that their dream match was shafted. Fast forward almost FOUR YEARS later and it’s come back out of absolutely nowhere. And with Ultra and Shade doing the research and Liam doing the writing, as well as the freaking My Smash Academia animators doing the animation, I’m honestly pretty excited despite my initial disappointment. I mean, the preview was pretty promising.

Speaking of which, the voice acting in this is freaking great, especially for Ganondorf. Which is impressive considering the guy rarely, if ever, speaks. I’m personally indifferent to Dracula’s voice, but he sounds like A version of Dracula, so it’s fine. Admittedly I’m only eh on it because it’s not the Patrick Seitz Dracula that I’d feel more accustomed to, but whatever.

You’re probably wondering now why I’m going over my excitement for this fight rather than my prediction. Well, that’s because I have literally nothing to say that everyone else here can’t(due to my own lack of personal experience with the characters outside of Smash because yeah).

TLDR; Dracula wins, blah blah blah, just give me this freaking fight already.

Also I’m in the middle of getting myself pumped up for RWBY Volume 7 and I’m growing more impatient than ever.

He’s just a man. A miserable pile of secrets.

Dracula is a vampire with wine glasses.

Happy Halloween.

For nearly 10 years I’ve waited for Ganondorf vs Dracula (my two favorite villains), and it’s finally happening. As much as I would love to write some unfathomably long essay of a verdict… there really isn’t a debate here. Ganondorf is so greatly outclassed in every conceivable way that it looks like Dracula will be having pork chops for dinner.

Tsubori

Well, Legend of Zelda returns to DB for the first time since season 3, and what do we get? A stomp. A really hype stomp, but still a stomp. The researchers did this as a blog ages ago, and they finally get their match they wanted. We may not get the army battle it originally was, but this is definitely a huge step for the research team. Either way, it should be pretty fun, especially from the animation we’ve seen, even if the verdict is obvious.

Honestly, I find myself not quite buying some of the universal claims for Castlevania, due to a lot of it being based around backgrounds in pocket dimensions, which, as far as I’ve generally seen, aren’t usually considered real. Majora and Demise’s feats aren’t considered legit because it’s not confirmed that they’re real stars, as has been the case with plenty of other series, like pokemon and Devil May Cry. It just feels odd that it’s being given a pass when a lot of other series aren’t given the same affordance. Regardless of if Dracula fuckstomps anyway.

Oh, did you think I was going to loop this into how Ganondorf wins? Nah, not at all. I’m probably the most biased person on this blog in favor of Ganondorf, as my Amiibo Slamondorf will attest, but it’s obvious that Gerudo bacon’s getting greased come the episode. Let’s assume the universe thing is legit, so Ganondorf is given the exact same treatment, and scales to Majora and Demise. Now we have a star level character against Universal. Or, let’s not take the universal stuff. Dracula still has TK feats of causing eclipses and such, which stomps on anything Ganondorf has done. No real need to go into too heavy of detail for this one, as others have done so, and will do so more below, I just felt that it was important to go over that even without universal Dracula, he’s still got more than enough to crush Ganondorf. Count Chocula is about to be bringing home the bacon and making Ganon part of a complete breakfast.

Ganondorf VS Dracula
Holy shit I didn’t expect this to happen so soon but god damn is it a cool way to bring a long awaited series into Death Battle, as well as giving Ganondorf the episode he really deserves (now if only Bowser could get a better episode as well but that’s neither here nor there)

No use bringing any arguments or points from Bowser VS Ganon, since it’s clearly going to be new research from the ground up.

So, starting from the ground up.

In terms of AP, Ganondorf is undeniably Island (plenty of fodder bosses from the series have feats of this caliber, such as heating over the Zora’s Domain, altering the climate cloud parting, etc. That’s usually how the villain’s bosses fuck over the people. On top of that, there is the Destruction of Greatfish Island, albeit this was offscreen so the method is a bit unclear, should be fine regardless.)
A lot of feats in the Zelda series are comparable to this (Midna collapsing Hyrule Castle, Link’s Bombs causing eruptions, Medallions shifting the weather, etc.)
At highest, you could argue Planet from statements about Demise “destroying the world”.
If you were to give him the full Triforce (which isn’t Standard, but for the sake of argument I see no reason not to bring it up since it’s a very possible outlook to use it from), he’d have a weapon that was potent enough to change the Sacred Realm into the Dark Realm.

Now, for Drac….here we go.
Castlevania as a verse has a LOT of cosmic level feats, which is surprising given it’s gothic setting (same series that gives Alucard a fucking Neutron Bomb though so I digress)
Dracula himself has warped Castlevania itself to feature stars, black holes, etc
And people below him like Brauner (his entire goal was to get to a power similar to that of Dracula’s), was able to create paintings capable of containing moons, setting suns, and other stars.

And that is just without some of the stuff like Time Reaper (someone who threatened to destroy an entire timeline, and someone everyone in Judgement can beat).

The best you could argue for Ganon here, is arguing that Demise or Majora had created a dimension with a star, and scale him off of that (but because of the vague nature of descriptions of these events, there is a lot of debate on how credible this is). Even if we gave Ganondorf the full benefit of the doubt, and gave him the full Triforce, and argued the Sacred Realm was a full universe, it wouldn’t matter.
Similar benefit of the doubt would allow us to treat Orlox (someone who tried to replicate Castlevania itself), as creating an infinite sized dimension based on his description of making it from “an endless amount of corpses”, and Chaos (the power source that Dracula is established as having complete mastery of), can form dimensions with entire galaxies in it.

Basically, Castlevania’s cosmic feats come from more consistent and credible claims through the entire cast and lore, and are more consistently shown and explained than a lot of the highest tier Zelda feats. Even Drac causing the eclipse alone is better than 90% of the feats within The Legend of Zelda.

In terms of speed, it’s a lot more clear cut.
Zelda’s best feats are usually around Rela (Light Arrows, Guardians Lasers), so it’s easy to argue there. There are a few FTL-low MFTL feats I’ve seen being passed around, but even with that, Castlevania’s more common usage of light based weaponry, as well as Soma and a weakened Alucard escaping the Abyss (a different dimension with many solar systems, often said to be a universe) makes the speed feats for Castlevania a lot more consistent to back off of.

So Drac takes the three big stats super easily, but how do other factors compare?

Well to keep it short

  • Ganondorf is likely the more experienced fighter, given his many appearances, as well as better in sword combat, but that doesn’t mean much since Drac is known as a gifted tactician in combat, and obviously has PLENTY of experience in his own right against foes as varied as the Belmonts or Alucard, meaning he can likely keep up in skill.
  • Drac has basically every ability Ganondorf has, but better in every way, plus more. If you saw how many transformations alone he has over Ganon above, you can see how insane his variety is in comparison.
  • Even if you were to argue Ganon could only be killed by weapons considered holy (Please don’t. It’s such an inconsistent and asinine claim in the verse to back entire verdicts on but w/e), Drac’s Chaos abilities are directly said to be the parallel to God, basically using the total opposite of the same type of power. On top of that, some of the spells in which Dracula uses are described as “holy”, so take of that what you will. Even then, you could apply the same argument to Dracula (and given Drac’s other advantages, I doubt Ganon is ever hitting Drac with the Sword of Sages).

Sooooo yeah
Ganon and Drac are two great villains who I am so excited to see in Death Battle, and this is a match that I have been wanting for a long while.

But, at the end of the day Ganondorf will go back from whence he came!

Also anyone who gets this deserves a cookie

(Lets Go!!!!)

Hi everyone, the newest member of the G1 Prediction team here. My very first introduction to the G1’s Prediction series all started before Amy Rose Vs. Ramona Flowers was released for First Members. I got back from vacation and wanted to catch up on the DB Wiki. That was how I discovered the series and been in love with the and humor in predicting the winner of the next Death Battle. Ever since I wanted to try to join the G1 Prediction, but I finally got my chance after Sasuke Vs. Hiei aired for first members. Now, Ganondorf is fighting Dracula at last, DevilArtmeis and his friend edited the fight with SFM for the first, & THE DB WILL BE OUT FINALLY!!! I highly agree that Drac is going to win due to his god-like powers while Ganondorf is limited with his Triforce and his demon forms. Other words: A somewhat similar verdict from Thanos Vs. Darkseid, but with magic and transformations. Lastly, big thanks to Malcolm Neill and The-Gaming-News-Guy for letting one of my dreams come finally true. I wished I could do more with editing and finding more feats, but it was a great experience for my very first prediction blog support. Thank you and everyone else who enjoyed this special Halloween themed blog, and I hope to do more in the future. Until the next episode, Stay Awesome
