“A true Master gives all his knowledge. But only when the student is ready.”

- Georges St. Pierre

Passing the tenth anniversary of Death Battle presented how old yet refreshing the series has become. The more it grew, the wiser it has become in learning its main principle in order to grow into the famous series it has become today. However, even the show had its flaws and hit bumpy roads along the way whether it was the start of DBX in 2016 or ScrewAttack’s official end. Still, hope has shined brighter than ever as the series learns from its flaws and tries different methods for teaching those new and passing on the touch. With hints and theories of the ideal opponents to start off the premiere of Season 8 of Death Battle, the question always remained in the head in what fight was going to start off the big season? That answer has finally come as the most springing fight to start off the season by having the masters showing they still have the moves to kill.

Master Yoda, everyone’s favorite short green Jedi master from Star Wars. And King Mickey Mouse, ruler of Disney Castle and Keyblade Master from the series of Kingdom Hearts. After all these years of Ben Singer banning Master Yoda, and somewhat Mickey, from getting their fights, they both have now gotten the chance to show how powerful they are with their abilities against each other. Both powerful and experienced masters for the greater good that has helped the next generation of heroes including Luke Skywalker and Aqua. Despite their grief of being short and losing many comrades as being the only few survivors in their universes, they both are still highly respected, and wise war veterans that can kick your ass with their skills alone. After patiently waiting for their time to fight, it is satisfying to see which master is truly superior to fiction’s greatest teachers ever told.

In Case You’re Wondering…

Similar to what we did with Archie Sonic, the Mickey Mouse we will be focusing on is from the Square Enix’s franchise version from the world of Kingdom Hearts including the spin-offs. So, the canon Mickey Mouse from the cartoons will not be added and will be used for another time.

As for Master Yoda, we will include all canon lore as we did for Obi-Wan and Palpatine. Meaning that both Legends and Disney, sadly, will be the main focus of our source. Any secondary sources like Clone Wars and Soulcalibur, (4 was a good game), will be used as support.

Without further ado, let’s start the blog.

Yoda

“Do or do not. There is no try.”

Born 900 years before the Battle of Endor, Yoda belongs to a mysterious and unknown species, and he himself has never revealed his homeworld to anyone. He was keenly attuned to the Force as a youngling and joined the Jedi Order. While still a youngling, he received a personal mentor (whose name is also unknown) and during their time together, Yoda’s Jedi Master told him a tale of K’ungfu and Chuang, two Jedi Masters from the past, teaching Yoda how to live in peace. Around the age of 100 years old, the torch was passed onto Yoda, who would go on to attain the rank of Jedi Master, spending the next eight centuries training and counseling entire generations of Jedi, teaching over 20,000 of them in his lifetime.

Yoda was on the Jedi Council as the Grandmaster around the Invasion of Naboo, where Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn presented to him a young freed slave boy, Anakin Skywalker, whom he believed to be the Chosen One. Sensing fear and an uncertain future in the boy, Yoda and the Council turned down his training. Yoda was present at the funeral of Qui-Gon Jinn after his death at the hands of Darth Maul, who told fellow Jedi Council member Mace Windu that the Rule of the Two was a successful system in the Sith, meaning there was another Sith Lord still out there.

After a decisive duel with his former apprentice turned Dark Side-user Count Dooku, Yoda along with the rest of the Jedi Order and Republic would soon find themselves in the Clone Wars, with the first battle on Geonosis favoring the Republic. Yoda was a major player and general during the Clone Wars, taking part in numerous missions and crisis such as traveling to the moon Rugosa to gain the alliance of King Katuunko to build a Republic base on their moon, or helping fellow Jedi Anakin Skywalker and Aayla Secura recapture the Zillo Beast. Towards the end of the Clone Wars, the Jedi Council gained a distrust for Chancellor Palpatine due to his increased personal authority in the Senate, and to make matters worse, Anakin became the Chancellor’s Jedi Council representative. After Skywalker’s appointment, Yoda would oversee the Battle of Kashyyyk, and in an unfortunate turn of events, Chancellor Palpatine was revealed to be the Sith Lord, taking Anakin Skywalker as his newfound apprentice, ordering an attack on the Jedi Temple and all Jedi known as Order 66. Yoda survived his clones attempt to murder him, and reunited with Senator Bail Organa and Obi-Wan Kenobi, traveling to the Jedi Temple to find what remained of Darth Vader’s rampage. After learning of Anakin Skywalker’s fall to the Dark Side, Yoda went to the Galactic Senate to confront Emperor Palpatine himself. After a duel that decided the very fate of the galaxy, Yoda was unfortunately defeated and forced to flee, going into self-exile on the swampy planet Dagobah.

After a confrontation with the ghost of Ben Kenobi, Yoda readily agreed to train Darth Vader’s son, Luke Skywalker to prepare him to face Darth Vader himself, becoming Luke’s mentor. Eventually, Luke fights Darth Vader in Cloud City and returns to Yoda a year later, who is closer to death. Yoda confirms to Luke that Darth Vader is indeed Luke’s father, and after he dies, Luke will be the last remaining Jedi, and to not underestimate Darth Sidious’ influence with the Force, with his final words to Luke telling him that there is another member of the Skywalker family. Yoda then passes away, disappearing and becoming one with the Force.

King Mickey

"May our hearts be our guiding key."

Before he was a king or even a Keyblade Master, the iconic Mickey Mouse’s story in Kingdom Hearts starts the same way it did in real life, on the Steamboat Willie. He was an underling to Captain Pete and would continue to be in the future, when Mickey, Donald, and Goofy were suddenly assigned not just to be Musketeers under Captain Pete’s command, but to be Minnie’s Royal Guard as well. This was done by Pete in an attempt to easily carry out a plot to overthrow Minnie and become king of the country. This attempt would fail as it normally does in the events of the “Three Musketeers” movie, and from there, Mickey and Minnie would eventually get married, making Mickey the king he is now (though how he and Minnie ended up in a different world and became King and Queen of Disney Castle is still currently unknown).

Around the time he becomes King Mickey, he starts training under the tutelage of Yen Sid to become a Keyblade Master. During this time, the events of Fantasia happen, because apparently becoming a king didn’t stop Mickey from being rather lazy. Despite his mischievous nature during this time, he eventually matures into the person we see in most of the games and masters the Keyblade and gains his own, the Starseeker.

During the events of Birth By Sleep, Mickey begins his Mark of Mastery exam to fully complete his training and gain the Power of Waking. This would get completely side-tracked however, when King Mickey finds himself involved in the plot of Master Xehanort to possess Terra’s body and prolong his own life. He’d decide to steal Yen Sid’s Star Shard, which would teleport him randomly to other worlds, but would always teleport him where he was needed most to help others, whether that be to save Ventus from Vanitas in the Keyblade Graveyard, or to Radiant Garden to help Aqua save a young Kairi from Unversed. By the end of the game, Mickey would come back to Yen Sid, feeling guilty for having ran away during his Mark of Mastery Exam, attempting to leave the Star Shard and his Keyblade with Yen Sid and walking away a failure, only for Yen Sid to stop him, and happily give him back his Keyblade, implying the good deeds he did allowed him to pass his Mark of Mastery Exam.

With Mickey now fully aware of the threat of looming darkness, he would begin to figure out how to prepare himself for any problems it may present in the future. He would somehow reverse engineer the material that dimensional barriers were made up of to create Gummi Blocks and thus, Gummi Ships, capable of bypassing dimensional barriers to travel to other worlds. He would befriend Ansem the Wise and Terranort (who was only going by the name of Xehanort due to amnesia), not realizing that that Xehanort was the same Xehanort who had started the events of Birth By Sleep that would lead to any oncoming threats in the future. This would allow Xehanort to become an assistant to Ansem for years before undergoing his own research under the name of Ansem in secret, which would lead to the creation of the Heartless, his gained understanding of how to use darkness to control them, the discovery that they can create more of themselves through forcing the Hearts out of living things and covering those Hearts in darkness, his discovery of Radiant Garden’s Heart (which resulted in the destruction of the worlds’ boundaries), and his ultimate betrayal of Ansem the Wise, banishing him to the Realm of Darkness, and starting the events of the first Kingdom Hearts game.

From here you can reasonably look up what Mickey does throughout the rest of the series here, lest this bio be a whole book.

But quickly and less confusingly summary up, mostly from there on he would fight the darkness by himself for a while and team up with Sora and his friends later on in stooping Xehanort’s master plan up until the conclusion of the third game and its DLC. We hope you enjoyed the bio since the lore of Kingdom Hearts should be known as a meme by now.

Equipment

Yoda

Lightsaber

The lightsaber is the main weapon of choice for a Jedi, with Yoda’s being a single-bladed green one. It has a hilt made of alloy metal that's shorter and resembles a shoto. The energy in the blade is powered by a kyber crystal. Offensively, a lightsaber is mainly used in dueling and combat, as lightsaber combat is one of a few ways for Force users to test their strength and skills. Defensively, it can help Jedi enhance and master their precision, being able to parry or block incoming attacks such as blaster bolts, something Yoda does on a daily basis and even sometimes, Force Lightning.

Cane

Due to his age, Yoda often hobbles around on a cane, which he will occasionally use for whacking people. Even as a force ghost, he would smack Luke with it. Also, this stick is better than bacon

Mickey

Keyblade

King Mickey has used three different Keyblades throughout the series, those being Star Seeker, Kingdom Key D, and Star Cluster. He doesn’t really have a preference for one or the other - using Kingdom Key D in Kingdom Hearts 1, Star Seeker in KH2, and Star Cluster in Kingdom Hearts 3.

In terms of overall abilities that Keyblades have other than magic channeling and close quarters combat which will be talked about later:

The Keyblade’s light beam ability can force a being’s heart outside of its body. When a heart is removed from someone’s body, their body and soul both cease to exist and are replaced by a Nobody, which while technically being the body and soul of the original person they’re born from, they technically do not exist (which as a result, makes them normally intangible), and they lack any trait from who they were before, because the Heart contains a person’s memories, emotions, and overall identity.

Star Shard

A Star Shard is a Gummi Block capable of letting people teleport across worlds, disregarding the laws of dimensional barriers. Mickey used to not be in control of where it would take him or when it would even enact, but he’s long since learned to make use of its powers, seeing as he was able to teleport to the Data-Scape immediately when he needed to.

He can also use this in combat scenarios to perform auto-teleport, which is explained in the abilities section of this blog.

Mickey’s Potions

Mickey has potions that act unlike any other potion or elixir in the whole series in that they restore only half your health, but also fully restore your MP (magic points), and completely fill the Drive Gauge of the person they’re used on.

Abilities

Yoda

Lightsaber Combat

Yoda uses his signature weapon of the Jedi to teach entire generations of Padawans and Jedi Knights the forms of lightsaber combat. There are seven of these lightsaber forms, each with their own unique style that help Jedi adapt and overcome in and out of training;

  • Form I: Shii-Cho: Known as the Way of the Sarlacc or the Determination Form. The most ancient of all lightsaber combat forms, developed after warriors had learned to use lightsabers over normal bladed weapons. It is regarded as the simplest form to learn, known for its traditional movements that Jedi rely upon when all else fails. It is especially designed for allowing the practitioner to fight multiple opponents at once. A notable practitioner of this Lightsaber combat form was Jedi Master Kit Fisto.

  • Form II: Makashi: Known as the Way of Ysalamiri or the Contention Form. This form employs straightforward dueling techniques akin to fencing, with graceful and flowing movements against a single opponent. Count Dooku, also known as the Sith Lord Darth Tyrannus, was a noted practitioner of this form, as were Jedi Master Ki-Adi Mundi and the Sith assassin Asajj Ventress.

  • Form III: Soresu: Known as the Way of the Mynock, or the Resilience Form, Seresu is a defensive style of combat, focusing on using a lightsaber for protection against almost any threat, particularly long range attacks, without leaving any openings. Due to being more of a self-defense style, it’s often considered the ultimate expression of the non-aggressive Jedi philosophy, making it a perfect style for practitioners like Obi-Wan Kenobi, though even Sith users such as Darth Vader and his apprentice Galen Marek AKA Starkiller have used this form to their benefit before

  • Form IV: Ataru: Known as the Way of the Hawk-Bat or the Aggression Form. Ataru’s focus on acrobatic and rushdown tactics make it the inverse of the ground-based defensive stance of Soresu. This form has many well-known users, including Yoda himself, Qui-Gon Jinn, Kyle Katarn, Plo Koon, Aayla Secura and Ezra Bridger.

  • Form V: Shien / Djem So: Known as the Way of the Krayt Dragon or the Perseverance Form, this advanced discipline was meant to connect the aggressiveness of Ataru and the defensiveness of Soresu into a single unified style. Anakin Skywalker developed a preference for this form, one that he would train with his own Padawan, Ahsoka Tano.

  • Form VI: Niman: Known as the Way of the Rancor or the Diplomat’s Form. This form further refined the strengths and weaknesses of the previous forms to create a discipline that is truly moderate by comparison to the forms that came before it. Darth Maul used a modified version of this to handle his unique dual-bladed lightsaber.

  • Form VII: Juyo / Vaapad: Known as the Way of the Vornskr or the Ferocity Form. This discipline has the user harness their inner focus and use their inner darkness for a wildly unpredictable and unrelenting fighting style that few can reliably answer. Jedi Master Mace Windu was a major proponent of this mindset.

Yoda’s lightsaber combat is greatly renowned, being described as the most powerful Jedi duelist in the Jedi Order, a master of all seven forms, surpassing the likes of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu. His best lightsaber form he has practiced is Form IV, Ataru, practicing combined strength, speed, and agility that go hand-in-hand with Yoda’s size. Yoda is held to such a high regard that even his enemies have held high praises of him, with Count Dooku claiming General Grievous to be inferior to Yoda in lightsaber combat, and Darth Sidious claiming that if Yoda was in Obi-Wan’s position against Anakin on Mustafar, then Yoda would’ve injured Anakin far worse then what Obi-Wan had done to him. Perhaps his greatest feat is engaging Darth Sidious, the most powerful Sith Lord in history in lightsaber combat. Though Sidious won the fight, Yoda proved to be a match for him, matching him in lightsaber combat and in the Force.

The Force

See the source image

The Force is an energy field that surrounds and binds all life forms within the universe. The Force was created by life, so naturally it exists within all life forms. A select group of individuals that were born with a high concentration of midi-chlorians (microscopic lifeforms that are found in blood and communicate with the Force on a symbiotic level) were deemed Force-sensitive, allowing them to have a better awareness of the Force that came with the ability to harness it, which gives Yoda access to various Force powers.

Telekinesis

Count Dooku and Darth Caedus vs Valkorion - Battles - Comic Vine

Force Telekinesis is one of the most basic and well-known Jedi abilities out there. Arguably the most used and versatile technique, it is mostly used in combat-focused situations, and those who have mastered Force Telekinesis can perform a variety of techniques whilst in combat;

  • Force Disarm: This Telekinesis Attack involves the Disarming of your opponent. This was most used by Jedi as a means of disarming a Sith's Lightsaber before knocking them out. Yoda was able to use this to disarm Asajj Ventress with ease.

  • Force Lift: The ability to lift objects into the air, objects and people alike. Jedi most commonly use technique to clear enemy fleets or lift objects out of their way. Yoda used this to completely immobilize and clear a fleet of chameleon droids, and he can lift numerous large boulders in the air at once without any trouble.

  • Force Push: With this ability, Yoda can knock back opponents by striking his hand and delivering a powerful push from the Force. Yoda used this to hurl back Asajj Ventress and even knock Darth Sidious back out of his chair from a short distance.

  • Force Pull: Yoda can pull people or objects closer towards him with the Force, typically by means of avoiding someone or something, or retrieving his lightsaber. Yoda used this to pull himself and Palleus Chuff on the underside of a starfighter.

  • Force Crush: Yoda can use telekinesis to internally strike or attack his target, usually by applying pressure on organs. Although due to the Jedi Code, Yoda and other Jedi alike typically use this on non-organic lifeforms.

  • Force Throw: Force Throw allows Yoda to telekinetically throw objects at his enemies. One method he uses is throwing his lightsaber at enemies, and did so to impale a clone.

  • Force Tug: Typically a Force Tug is a tug-of-war between two Force users, which happened during Yoda’s duel with Count Dooku, in which he countered and overpowered his telekinesis with his own.

  • Levitate: Yoda can suspend himself against the force of gravity to float mid-air.

  • Force Shove: Using this ability a Jedi or a Sith can throw an enemy away from them, creating distance.

Force Sense

Force Sense is a passive Force power which enables a Force user to feel physical, emotional and mental traits as well as events. Yoda is able sense disturbances in the Force from possibly parsecs away. This can help him anticipate attacks from enemies, such as when he was able to detect numerous chameleon droids despite them being camouflaged, and act upon it, and was also able to sense that his clone troopers are about to try to kill him, something most other Jedi failed to do. He can sense the Dark Side of the Force in people, sense the emotions in others such as when he sensed Depa Billaba’s concealed fear, and he was able to sense the deaths of Jedi all across the galaxy all at once.

Farsight

Farsight is the Jedi power to look into the future or the past and receive visions from the Force. Jedi can often perceive future events, but such visions are often unreliable as always in motion, is the future. Luke Skywalker believed Master Yoda told him of the Ones of Mortis because he sensed that Luke would one day need that information. Yoda can look into the past after entering meditation, and even the future, as he was able to sense the return of the Sith 200 years prior to it happening, which is supported by when he acknowledged Obi-Wan Kenobi defeating Darth Maul as the first defeat of the Sith. He was able to sense the Clone Wars spreading across the galaxy like a plague.

Jedi Mind Trick

Force sensitives are able to use the Force to manipulate the thoughts of other sentient beings, although they are more effective against weaker minds. He was able to easily mind control Gregar Typho and was even stated to have been able to enter Obi-Wan Kenobi’s mind before.

Telepathy

Telepathy is the ability to communicate or read another person's mind, which can span across great distances and can do so with multiple people at once. Yoda is strong enough to communicate with a sentient mountain.

Force Valor

Force Valor helps augment Yoda’s physical stats, allowing him to perform numerous Force techniques like Force Speed or Force Jump. His Force Valor is versatile enough to give Count Dooku and Darth Sidious trouble, and one of Yoda’s clones compares Yoda’s evasive movement to that of a starfighter pilots' performance.

Force Speed

Force Speed enables a Force user to enhance the speed of their movements. Yoda can use this to run faster than any human, which allows him to typically outrun blaster bolt fire on a daily basis.

Force Healing

4770551-7197837271-47705 by BangJang96

An ability that allows a Jedi to heal his wounds or the wounds of others. It can heal wounds such as physical trauma, blaster bolts, lightsaber scores, and even broken bones. Typically, Yoda uses this to heal other Jedi who have suffered injuries, such as Jork Car’das. But, as mentioned healing has its limits as it can not heal major wounds like loss of limbs or even death.

Tutaminis

Tutaminis allows Yoda to contain, deflect, absorb, or redirect blaster bolts/energy against his opponents with his hand. He's been shown capable of deflecting blaster bolts with ease, and he’s been capable of absorbing and dissipating Force Lightning from Count Dooku, but most impressively he's held back the Force Lightning of Darth Sidious, even overpowering it, causing an explosion.

Force Jump

Force Jump allows Yoda to jump tremendous distances with the Force. He's been shown capable of jumping down ledges at least over a hundred feet and is agile enough to jump across floating plants.

Force Wave

Force Wave is a more enhanced version of the Force Push ability, allowing Yoda to unleash an Omni-directional blast of Force energy that was strong enough to repel an entire platoon of battle droids.

Force Barrier

Yoda can create a barrier or wall of Force energy around himself or others, being strong enough to repel poisonous gas and all manner of blaster fire.

Force Concealment

Force Concealment allows Yoda to be undetectable by non-Force users and Force users alike. He used this ability to seal his presence from Luke Skywalker on Dagobah, and hid his presence in the Force from Count Dooku despite being on the potent dark side nexus of Vjun, which would have debilitated his ability to call on the Force.

Battle Meditation

Battle Meditation is a Force ability that can boost Yoda’s morale, stamina, and battle prowess of his allies, having mastered this ability.

Alter Environment

Alter Environment allows Yoda to manipulate his surroundings such as water, air, and plants. He can even create entire pockets of air to hold back the vacuum of space.

Shatterpoint

Shatterpoint allows Yoda to find weaknesses in structures or other beings entirely and can view these weaknesses via the Force, allowing them easier access.

Shatterpoint Perception

Shatterpoint Perception is the Force Ability that forecasts fate to tell the user how to deal with enemies, what their weaknesses and strengths are, how their actions or his affect things directly or indirectly to win.

Beast Control/Language

Beast Language allows Force-users to communicate with beasts or animals, and Beast Control is used to tame or control them, and can work in large groups as well.

Stonepower

Stonepower is a unique aspect of the Force that is only attainable by being in close proximity with a blue stone imbued with the Living Force. Yoda came into contact with said stone, and this allowed him to manipulate the stones of living mountains on various planets.

Force Light

Force Light is an especially powerful light side power that grants the user the ability to create light from the Force to dispel both literal darkness and the powers of Dark-siders. It can disperse light to shine off surfaces such as metal or purge/contain Dark Side manifestations. This ability allowed him to dismiss a manifestation of the spirit of Darth Bane as an illusion.

Force Ghost

An extremely rare Force ability that allows a Jedi to retain their identity and transcend the physical plane to become a Force Ghost. Through this means, the Jedi can appear to others to offer counsel and wisdom to those who need it. Yoda became a Force Ghost and appeared to Luke Skywalker after the deaths of Darth Vader and Palpatine to offer guidance until he no longer needed it.

Mickey

Keyblade Combat/Abilities

Mickey uses the keyblade in a graceful and skilled manner. Due to his small size he tends to employ greatest agility and speed to overpower his opponents rather than using brute force. His skill is shown when he was able to effortlessly kill three Darkside Heartless with ease and with the help of Riku and Sora, defeat Ansem, Xemnas and Young Xehanort as well take on Marluxia, Larxene, and Luxord all on his own until Sora showed up. Safe to say, Mickey is one of the most skilled, experienced fighters in the Kingdom Hearts series.

Mickey’s Keyblade Abilities are listed as follows:

Sliding Dash

Sliding Dash is a technique where the user dashes forward at high speeds, slamming their Keyblade through any enemies along the way. This can be used to close gaps between the user and the opponent very quickly, as well as lead into other attacks. Mickey is proven to have this through Aqua, Ventus, and Terra using his D-Link in Birth By Sleep, which allows them access to his abilities and spells, Sliding Dash being one of them.

Binding Strike

Binding Strike is a technique where the user does a spinning attack that seemingly conducts electricity that wraps around the opponent to bind them in place for a short duration. Mickey is proven to have this through Aqua, Ventus, and Terra using his D-Link in Birth By Sleep, which allows them access to his abilities and spells, Binding Strike being one of them.

Heart

In the Kingdom Hearts Verse, A Heart is one of the three parts which comprise a being in the Kingdom Hearts universe, the other two being body and soul. The heart is the essence of the being. The destruction of the body and soul will not kill a being, as the verse lacks a “proper concept of death”, and instead the being will return as a heartless or nobody. Only the complete destruction of a heart will definitely kill someone. A shattered heart can potentially restore itself, as shown with Sora

The heart is made of light and darkness and thus Keyblade Wielders can weaponize their heart through various means though Mickey being a good boi uses the light in the heart rather than the darkness.

Light

Light is one half of the heart, and those skilled enough can weaponize the inner light within themselves for various means.

Light Attacks

The most common form of Light based used in the series. Basically Light Attacks or Light Magic allows the user to weapon their light through various attacks. King Mickey being one of the most powerful users of the Light can weaponise his Light considerably better than most. In terms of the attacks we have seen King Mickey use throughout the series:

  • Beam of Light: King Mickey can fire a beam of light straight out of his keyblade. During his fight against the Xehanort Replicas he was able to create a massive beam of light with Sora’s help which he used to disintegrate the Xehanort Replicas. This beam of light has also normally been used to remove a being’s heart from their body.

  • Pearl: Mickey can fire an orb of light that homes onto the enemy in Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories.

  • Holy Burst: Used as a combination attack by Riku and Mickey in Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories. Riku and Mickey stand back-to-back while firing orbs of lights.

  • Inverse Burst: Used as a combination attack by Riku and Mickey. The move is the same as Holy Burst, but Riku fires dark orbs instead of light ones.

  • Faithcharge: Mickey will jump up and be surrounded in an orb of light before releasing six orbs of light that home in on the target and deal damage. Mickey can send out orbs of enemies eight times in a row.

  • Lightcharge: Mickey jumps up and spins around while charging into targets and striking them with light-based magic from the keyblade.

  • Sign of Faith: Generates a miniature tornado that sweeps up surrounding enemies before a beam of light fires from the center, knocking all enemies to the ground, leaving them stunned.

  • Holy: This is one of Mickey’s most powerful attacks. Basically King Mickey will surround himself with hovering balls of lights and summon multiple thin beams of light before charging up one massive beam. If fully charged, the thin beam and the large beam will strike the enemy all at once causing massive damage.

Light Coating

This is an extremely rare ability that is generally reserved for masters. It involves cloaking themselves with light in order to protect themselves in the Realm of Darkness. Though this does require stamina as if the person is exhausted then it will not work. This ability was used mostly by Master Eraqus and King Mickey.

Light Sensing

Keyblade wielders can sense the light within a person as well as use it as a detection for over Light Based users.

D-Charge

D-Charge is a technique used by Mickey to manually increase his Drive Gauge at a faster rate than he normally would by attacking and blocking attacks. This comes at the cost of making Mickey immobile and thus, more vulnerable to attacks.

Healing Light

Healing Light is a spell casted without the use of MP, but rather a full Drive Gauge. It can not only revive KO’d allies, but fully heal them, and completely replenish their MP (magic points) Gauge.

Light Protection/Light Barriers

Mickey can use Light as a barrier in order to prevent himself from getting injured. He does this in Kingdom Hearts 2 when he surrounds himself with a light barrier to protect himself and during his Holy Attack in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

Magic

Magic is a form of combat used by Keyblade wielders in the Kingdom Hearts series with the most common forms of magic in the series being

  • Fire Magic

    • Fire

    • Fira

    • Firaga

  • Thunder Magic

    • Thunder

    • Thundara

    • Thundaga

  • Ice Magic

    • Blizzard

    • Blizzara

    • Blizzaga

  • Earth Magic

    • Quake

  • Healing Magic

    • Cure

    • Cura

    • Curaga

  • Time Magic

    • Stop

    • Stopra

    • Stopga

    • Stopza

  • Reflect Magic

    • Reflega

  • Mini

  • Mine Shield

  • Auto-Teleport

  • Ultima

It’s worth noting that, the higher the spell skill (i.e. -ra, -ga, -za) the higher the toll on the caster’s body is.

Here’s a more detailed explanation for the spells that aren’t self-explanatory or easy to understand just by looking it up:

Time Magic

While King Mickey has shown great aptitude for using the power of the Light, he has also been shown to be quite skilled at using time magic as shown with his use of Stopza. This time spell is extremely powerful as shown when he froze everyone in time. While this is an extremely overpowered ability, it has a huge downside. According to Riku, using time magic uses a great deal of Mickey's stamina, meaning he can only use it once or twice at most before his stamina completely depletes, as such he must be careful when using it. It also doesn’t work on those who have time manipulation abilities like Young Xehanort.

Healing Magic

Mickey also has shown use of Healing Magic in order to support his allies and friends. This was shown in Birth By Sleep when Mickey was able to completely heal Ventus after he lost a fight against Vanitas.

Mini

Mini is a spell where the caster releases an outward extending blast of magic from themselves, and any enemy hit by it significantly shrinks, which of course comes with the cost of being weaker and more susceptible to damage. Mickey is proven to have this through Aqua, Ventus, and Terra using his D-Link in Birth By Sleep, which allows them access to his abilities and spells, Mini being one of them.

Mine Shield

Mine Shield is a spell where the user casts 3 magical mine traps in front of them, that when stepped on, explode and stun/paralyze the enemy. Mickey is proven to have this through Aqua, Ventus, and Terra using his D-Link in Birth By Sleep, which allows them access to his abilities and spells.

Auto-Teleport

Auto-Teleport is an ability that randomly enacts when the user is about to be hit, putting them out of harm’s way without having to consciously teleport. Mickey is proven to have this through Aqua, Ventus, and Terra using his D-Link in Birth By Sleep, which allows them access to his abilities and spells, Auto-Teleport being one of them. The power is also largely implied to come from Mickey’s Star Shard mentioned earlier in the blog, because of the symbol for the ability being his Star Shard.

Ultima

One of, if not usually the strongest of the Final Fantasy spell index. The way it works varies game by game, and unfortunately we don't get to see Mickey successfully use this on Master Xehanort before getting overpowered by his Stopza. You can still probably infer that this would be stronger than most if not all spells in Kingdom Hearts, potentially including Donald's "Zettaflare" which one-shot Terranort.

Other

Flight

Self-explanatory.

How is he doing this, you ask?

When you wish upon a staaaar, makes no difference who you aaaare, anything your heart desires will come to youuuu.

Power of Waking

An extremely rare ability that allows the user to travel to worlds by traversing through other people’s hearts. The ability, however, can also be used to change and undo timelines through the use of time travel. This can even go so far as to make users capable of undoing their own death after the fact. The result leaves tears in time. It has been said by Yen Sid that Keyblade Masters know and can perform the Power of Waking (Riku knows it by the end of DDD).

According to in-game logs, King Mickey possesses this power, though it’s unknown if he can use it for time travel like Sora could.

Teleportation

Using his Star Shard, Mickey can teleport freely. This teleportation has so much range that he can travel to other worlds and dimensions almost immediately (like travelling between worlds throughout Birth By Sleep, and jumping from the “Real World” to the Data-Scape in Re:Coded).

Feats

Yoda

Overall

See the source image

  • Ascended to the rank of Jedi Grandmaster, and is often said to be one of, if not the strongest Jedi in history

  • Served as a general in the Clone Wars

  • Helped Anakin Skywalker, Mace Windu, and Aayla Secura recapture the Zillo Beast

  • One of the survivors of Order 66

  • Forced Count Dooku to retreat after their duel on Geonosis

  • Count Dooku believes General Grievous to be inferior to Yoda in lightsaber combat

    • Grievous has dominated multiple other Jedi Council members in lightsaber combat simultaneously

  • One of the masters of Luke Skywalker, who would go on to redeem Anakin Skywalker and defeat Emperor Palpatine (at least until Dark Empire/TRoS but shhhhhh)

  • Acknowledged and defeated his Dark Side

  • Confronted and contested Emperor Palpatine in the Senate Chamber, though ultimately losing proved to be a match for the Sith Lord

Yoda

One obvious factor is that Yoda is a very old being, with an age that’s practically unknown to most people, if not everyone. He’s also very much known to walk around using only a cane due to his old age. Granted, this doesn’t prevent him from doing cool flips, sword swings, or any of the neat things that Jedi are capable of, but it’s been shown that a prolonged fight (such as his battle with Palpatine) will wear him out quickly.

Yoda also is a strict believer in the code of the Jedi, which means that he may be willing to hold back at the start of a fight, though this isn’t really an issue in Death Battle, as the characters have their limits on things such as killing or their own power removed. Also, seagulls don’t like him.

Mickey

kingdom hearts out of context on Twitter: "… "

For every cool moment Mickey has, he tends to have a jobber moment, though this is usually due to the plot and not any lack of prowess.

While his Time Magic is extremely powerful it drains his stamina significantly (Extremely powerful magic in this universe drains the user’s stamina - see Donald’s Zettaflare). Meaning at most he can only use it once or twice during a battle before completely exhausting him. His Magic also is not limitless and will eventually run out if he uses too much of it at once, relying on swordplay to conserve his stamina/magic without going full out right at the start. (though this can be mitigated somewhat with potions)

Advantages

Disadvantages

  • Potentially weaker depending on where KH stats are put

  • Likely slower

  • Can't resist having his heart destroyed

  • Can't resist King Mickey's time slowing or stopping magic

  • Can’t resist the effects of Mini

  • Will wear down quicker due to less numerous or effective healing options to keep him going forward, as well as generally being shown to wear down quicker in shorter fights than ones Mickey has been in

  • Has to deal with Mickey freely teleporting around at great distances

  • Auto-teleport could enact before Yoda lands a decisive blow

  • Ketamine addiction

  • Vulnerable to CBT

King Mickey

"Helping others should always come before asking others for help. We're safe and sound and free to choose! So there's no reason we shouldn't choose to help our friends."

Advantages

  • Potentially stronger depending on where KH stats are put

  • Likely faster

  • Being able to destroy or even just remove Yoda's heart is an instant-kill method he has no way of resisting

  • Mickey’s time slow and time stopping abilities are something Yoda can’t resist

  • Can even kill Yoda's Force Ghost if necessary through healing magic and being able to harm the non-corporeal with the Keyblade

  • Should have resistance to Jedi Mind Tricks, through being capable of breaking through confusion spells and status effects

  • Capable of replenishing his magic reserves through his potions or D-Drive spells

  • More healing options with much more effectiveness

  • Going to last a lot longer stamina wise

  • Even if Yoda could land a decisive blow, there’s a possibility of auto-teleport enacting and saving Mickey from danger

Glad to be back 👋. Before we begin, I would like to say

WOOOOOOOOOOOOO YEAH BABY THATS WHAT I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THATS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT WOOHOOOOOOOOOOO

HULY IS DEADASS MY FAVORITE EPISODE HOLY FUCK IT WAS SO GOOD

Okay, fanboy time over. This season premiere is LMAO. It’s not a bad match by any means it’s just really funny. But hey, the animation looks cool, the tracks sounds godly, and KH coming back is 👌. We got a solid opener on our hands. Now for who wins this battle of masters.

To start off with Yoda, it’d be an understatement to say Star Wars stats weren’t in flux for a very good while after our Palpanort blog, but we’ve essentially sorta circled back to our old opinions on them, so I’ve still got a solid idea on where Jedi Kermit lands in. At bare minimum he’s stronger than Anakin moving Star Destroyers, Grievous destroying Phrik metal which have small city-country level durability, Malak charging the Star Forge with multi cont levels of power, etc. But this is far from the Jedi Master’s peak. At his best, he can be scaled to our good ol’ Papa Sheev, who’s Force Storm has threatened entire planets, and he even moved entire constellations after killing Plagueis. One could argue the text is hyperbolic in a way, but the text is just stating outright it took a hold of the planet and was generating a force that was shaking the stars. I doubt, at least with the way it’s being worded, that it’s hyperbolic. While we don’t know the amount of stars he affected overall, a good general range would be in the star-large star levels of power. There are also Solar System level arguments for Yoddles, but I probably won’t touch on those too much. Regardless, star-large star Yoda is the solid ground we’re working with, potentially solar system at a high end. As for King Mickey, Kingdom Hearts stats are also in a semi state of contention but, bare minimum, Xehanort moving the moon would net you large planet level results. A good mid-end though would be large star level via Zeus moving constellations, which gets 4.22 FOE. I’ve seen some contentions surrounding this feat due to how constellations are portrayed in KH3 as rather small, but I’d probably say it’s still fine regardless, for a couple of reasons.

1). You can very easily say they’re that small because of budget reasons, I doubt the developers have enough to depict literal thousands of km wide objects up close

2). The stars being small don’t make a lot of sense in the context of the feat? Even when really far away, they’re bright enough to be visible to the eyes of Sora and gang, which, unless those constellations are STUPIDLY bright, would be nigh impossible.

So I think the feat is fine to attribute. At the highest end for KH top tiers, you have Data Realm shenanigans from Coded, where Sora’s Heartless was pretty much threatening to destroy an entire universe sized realm. Even a rough low end estimate of the feat gets multi-galaxy levels of power bare minimum, and given how Sora can survive hits from Kingdom Hearts enhanced Xehanort with the KI-BLAAAAADE, this level of strength isn’t quite so inconsistent for the Mickster.

So at best, Yoda and Mickey are roughly comparable in power (worth noting, we can actually get a solid number out of Zeus’ feat, where as Palpatine’s is more-so a rough guesstimate). And at worst, Mickey is one shotting Yoda’s ass to Monday. But Yoda has pretty potent mind hax like a lot of SW characters, surely he can win with that at his side, right? Well, that’s where the topic of speed begins. Yoda can likely scale to a few hyperspace speed feats (Anakin’s feat can get up to 1000c+), or Sheev moving around his Force Storm at MFTL+ speeds. Latter is consistent with Sheev moving stars in the Plagueis novel, which at a rough estimate, can get 446 thousand c assuming 5 minutes, and on the highest end 13.38 million c with ten seconds. Unfortunately for Yoda, the mighty King surpasses this speed pretty easily. Roxas traveling light years in 2 seconds (and possibly an even farther distance) gets 66 million c, and Zeus moving constellations is excellent as a supporting feat, since at an absolute low-end it’s getting 26 million c without accounting for the total number of stars Zeus moved which would increase the distance by a damn good amount. Yoda likely isn’t getting blitzed but Mickey has a damn solid speed advantage regardless.

When it comes to other factors, Yoda is undeniably more experienced and skilled in combat, and his range and precise control over the Force grants him a great range advantage over Mickey, plus his precognition can help him negate the speed gap a little bit. Tutamani’s can help Yoda against some projectile energy attacks, and shatter point can help him exploit a few of Mickey’s weaknesses. That being said, Mickey has far more useful abilities to bring to the battlefield. He has healing options to get rid of any potential damage Yoda could make, he can debuff Yoda’s stats, which makes the stat gap worse for him, he can stop and slow down time to get multiple free hits in, if not get an outright insta win, he has teleportation and flight, giving greater overall mobility and maneuverability in the fight, he can seal Yoda, he can replenish all of his magic should he be overtaxed at any point, and he can literally remove Yoda’s heart, effectively killing him no matter what. Simply put, the Keyblade grants Mickey way too many versatile and haxxy abilities, many of which Yoda has no direct counter too. Yoda is undeniably an honorable and exceptional fighter, but our clubhouse owner Mickey has the power and abilities needed to end this fight.

(The crossover everyone wanted is finally here)

So 2020 has finally ended and we’re back with a brand new season of Death Battle and after months of speculation and the teaser trailer from last seasons finale our Season 8 premiere is

Well this has certainly been a big surprise for me and many others though it makes perfect sense considering how prevalent and requested for so long this match is that’s right it’s Yoda vs King Mickey. Even if I was a bit unsure how to feel about this match at first in just a short amount of time I’ve realized this is a great matchup that has great potential from the sheer magnitude of  Yoda and Mickey and everything they are capable of and I am definitely invested in both series and characters extremely well. Star Wars has been a timeless legend for good reason and Yoda is equally just as incredible being the grandmaster who’s taught tens of thousands of Jedi over 900 years he’s one of the greatest and wisest mentors anyone has ever known. Similarly Kingdom Hearts has been with me for a long time and I wholeheartedly love this franchise even if sometimes the story can feel like Nomura had more Ketamine then Yoda when writing it, and Mickey is just as cool starting from humble beginnings from Steamboat Willie to keyblade master and One of the Guardians of light he’s also great to see. Even if it’s not my preferred Star Wars vs Kingdom Hearts match (that being this matches dark cousin Palpatine vs Xehanort) or what I expected first from Mickey (that being Mickey vs Bugs of course), I’m more than happy with this happening and think it’s a great way to start the season, and while it’s purely coincidental the fact this is the first movie vs video game match since Samus vs Boba Fett, the very first episode, on top of being a Star Wars match makes it even more appropriate for the start of a 10th year anniversary season. So with introductions out of the way let’s kick this into hyperdrive and begin delving into who wins between the Jedi Grandmaster and King of Disney Castle.

Starting off with attack potency there’s many feats Yoda scales above like Starkiller powering a cannon that can blow up a star destroyer, Thon containing the dark side energies of Ambria, Ect. But all of these are far from his greatest in power which is when Yoda fought on par with Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious galaxy chuckster  himself, whose power in The Force was able to move stars around as a result of killing his master, placing Yoda in the large star level range for being able to fight on par with Sidious for some time and with Palpatine being consistently stated to be the most powerful Sith Lord of all time. When others have been capable of star levels of power and Yoda’s own status as the grandmaster and one of the most powerful Jedi of all time, it’s definitely consistent you could even argue Yoda to be even higher at solar system level but that’s less certain in comparison.

Mickey similarly also scales above feats such as Ursula creating storms and Hercules tossing all of the Titans to space but most impressively is when Zeus created a constellation of Sora, Donald and Goofy which is large star level. Since the Titans could incapacite Zeus, Hercules could throw away the Titans and Sora is comparable to Hercules, Mickey should scale. You can take it even further since Mickey has held his own against several of the Forces of darkness like Ansem, Xemnas and Young Xehanort, alongside Sora and Riku and should be comparable to them. Sora was able to briefly black a beam from Xehanort empowered by the X-Blade and Kingdom Hearts which is capable of resetting the universe and further backed up by Mickey blocking 12 Replica Xehanort and destroying them with light all of them being comparable to the real Xehanort because everything is Xehanort. And with Sora’s heartless being capable of destroying the data universe you have a solid case for universe level meaning at most Yoda is comparable in AP to Mickey but if this is acceptable he would be much less powerful.

Then talking about speed can everyone’s favorite Jedi frog outpace the mouse? Well not quite. Yoda scales above numerous FTL feats due to being superior to numerous Force users with them, such as fighting off Count Dooku, who is directly stated to be faster than light, Anakin reacting in Hyperspace which got 1,071c, Obi-Wan and Mace Windu reacting in nanoseconds, and to Palpatine’s star movement which under a 10 second timeframe gets 13 million C. All of that is most impressive but Mickey’s is even higher scaling to Roxas flying from Radiant Garden to the Keyblade Graveyard getting 66 million c and 26 million c based on Zeus moving the stars to form the constellation. So the speed edge goes to Mickey.

Getting into abilities and skills, this is where it gets interesting as both have a vast amount of abilities for them to use, some being major factors here. Yoda is definitely more experienced overall, having been training and fighting with The Force for 9 centuries, and he has a wide array of options to use with The Force. Mickey’s magic is overall a more effective set of powers due to possessing some abilities Yoda has no reliable way to counter. Stopza for freezing time, mini for reducing size, sealing for sealing away, and teleportation to make landing a decisive blow more difficult. While both have incredible agility, Mickey’s flight can help him significantly when it comes to mobility. Yoda does possess many great abilities with The Force. Telekinesis is always a popular ability that can help close any gap in distance, Tutaminis to cancel out and protect against some of Mickey’s light based attacks, Force barrier to further protect himself, some foresight with The Force to help predict what is to come next, and enhanced senses using The Force. But while Yoda definitely can hold his own, he can’t resist Mickey’s most useful abilities and some of them are enough to win right there, and while a lightsaber is a very useful weapon, it’s not up to snuff with what Keyblades are capable of: being able to inflict conceptual damage and being able remove the heart is something Yoda doesn’t have any means of resisting. While Yoda does have access to much more reserves and greater range through The Force, he has lesser stamina than Mickey and he has a more reliable method of healing and he can fully restore his magic with magic potions. So while Yoda has a phenomenal array of abilities because of his mastery of The Force, Mickey’s overall powers are extremely useful and can turn the tides in his favor.

Essentially what it comes down to is if you accept certain feats from both Yoda. In the best case scenario, it’s comparable in AP and speed but Mickey still having an advantage in speed along with incredibly broken abilities gives him a massive advantage. If you accept Mickey at universal, then he would overpower Yoda very easily. Unfortunately for everyone’s green grandmaster, more often than not the scenario favors Mickey. Yoda, you’re an outstanding Jedi and mentor and it’s been an honor to talk about them both here, but King Mickey will claim victory.

So yeah Disney continues to control Star Wars and dominates the planet

And of course if this legend included it’ll be an 11/10 premiere

Season 8. The hype is unreal. The premiere that we’ve been waiting for weeks on end is about to be upon us. Doom VS Gil? Scarlet Witch VS Zatanna? Yoda VS-

That’s kind of unexpected. I was thinking Meta Knight but yesssssssssssssssssssssssss. Yoda. Cool. Amazing. I never thought I’d be this hyped for Yoda VS King Mickey but here we are.

I just want to take the time to say that I don’t agree with Hulk VS Broly. I think that episode could have been better but guess what, Season 7 already gets so much hate for honestly no reason. The fact that it was made is a feat by itself all things considered. I’m grateful for it simply happening and it really did make quarantine so, so, so much better. Anyways, now that that’s over, time for Yoda VS King Mickey.

I’m going to be 100% honest… this is really out of my comfort zone in terms of a fight. I don’t really have much experience with scaling either character, especially King Mickey. Kingdom Hearts is just something I’ve never really touched upon. However, I did learn quite a bit about both. More than I’d ever thought I’d know about either one and that’s great cause learning is fun! Thanks to my good friend, Bang, who also turns out to be a Star Wars expert and not just a comic geek, I’ve learned that Yoda should be star - solar system level and around 15 million c. Pretty good for a Jedi Grandmaster especially when a couple months ago, people thought Star Wars capped at small planet level and 3c. Mickey though, should be 66 million c which isn’t too much higher than Yoda but a little over 4x faster. Yoda being stronger than the likes of Vader, Dooku, and Windu is pretty impressive. Strength seems to be pretty even if you go off of just physical AP unless you buy universal stuff for Kingdom Hearts, which, again, I’m not too sure on but I could be wrong. If it’s valid though, Yoda’s screwed.

The keyblade is definitely a better weapon than the lightsaber which means Yoda is gonna have to rely on the Force a lot more. That isn’t really a problem though since Yoda is used to it and he’s one of the best Force users in all of Star Wars. That makes it come down to hax and oh boy, the Force comes with a lot of hax. Telepathy, telekinesis, healing, precog, etc. The Force has it all and way more that I didn’t list. Problem is, Mickey has counters to all of them and apparently conceptual hax, which, I’m not gonna lie, as a Marvel and DC geek, that is a very busted ability to have. In this case, it seems to be extremely limited but Yoda doesn’t resist that at all so yeah, it’s something. Same with existence erasure. The Force Ghost or astral projection of whatever won’t help if your soul will literally cease to exist which Mickey can do using the keyblade.

I do think Yoda is more experienced and it’s possible he’s stronger, but all in all, Mickey is faster, haxxier, and arguably stronger, but at the very least, they’d be similar in power. Yoda might potentially also be more skilled and with attacks like tutaminis, he could definitely counter some of Mickey’s attacks, but in the long run, I don’t see those advantages being big enough to beat Mickey. It’s honestly a pretty close fight and closer than what it seemed to be at first look but it seems as if King Mickey is going to be the winner of this fight. Sad are the days upcoming, it seems to be.

BangJang96

(Hi Mom, hope you're ready for me to explain how this is fair)

Oh boy it's time for the Season 8 Death Battle premiere! I wonder what's gonna be the first start to kickstart 10 years of fictional characters fighting to the death for our entertainm-

Uh oh

You know it's crazy to think that we live in a day and age where Yoda and Mickey Mouse can fight to the death, and it's actually fair enough to be heavily discussed in detail...that's the charm of Death Battle. When you first start debating you don’t ever suspect down the line you’ll be talking about bald guys in their underwear destroying the Earth or alien starfish who can threaten creation itself in numerous confusing layers. And when you say to yourself that a green alien lizard with a laser stick is fighting the talking mouse that kickstarted one of the longest running franchises in the world, you start to wonder how you got here. This is good for me however, finally get to do a blog that isn’t just “lolcomics”. Honestly this match-up has grown on me when I realized it's much more thematic than Meta Knight and so far the discussion has been fun, reawakened my love for researching Star Wars. Monologue aside, lets peep this out. I’m gonna go over general stats obviously, minorly explain stuff like arsenal and experience, hax, etc. Lets begin;

So strength-wise, Yoda’s strength I think is semi-contentious. There's usually three tiers people throw around for Yoda, them being large planet, star, and solar system level, and I will say right off the bat I fully believe solar system Yoda is consistent. Over the course of researching this fight, I have made a document compiling Yoda’s AP feats and scaling to other high tier Jedi, and if you’re too lazy to click on it then I’ll give a tl;dr: Yoda is comparable to Jedi that are weaker to but comparable to Grandmaster Luke Skywalker such as Jacen Solo and Mara Jade, with Jacen having statements of being comparable to numerous Jedi Masters, which is supported by Luke’s own thoughts of Yoda being one of the greatest Jedi to have ever lived (no I am not scaling Yoda to Luke’s feat against Abeloth), and it should be noted that you can be weaker than someone but comparable to them. Unless it specifies its full blown inferiority or “far” stronger, you can be on a tier with someone stronger than you. A good example is Barry Allen, while Wally is faster and has a better Speed Force connection, nothing suggests Barry is overwhelmingly weaker, in fact he managed to match Wally in Flash War for a really long time before Wally pulled ahead. So in short, I think Yoda should definitely scale to solar system level Jedi that are also comparable to Luke. And if you don’t buy that, Yoda was still able to contend with Darth Sidious, matching him in lightsaber combat and in Force ability with his Tutaminis, albeit he lost (which even then was somewhat circumstantial) he still proved he was more than a match for Sidious, who is often cited as the strongest Sith Lord in history, putting him ahead of people as strong as Darth Vitiate or Darth Revan, whos been explicitly called “the heart of the Force” and what-not. He’s fought Sith under Sidious pretty handily too such as Count Dooku, whom he matched in Force power and lightsaber combat, forcing Dooku to flee, and Dooku has fought Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker, all of which numerous times in the Clone Wars. He doesn’t have too many raw strength feats outside of these comparisons, so let’s cover Mickey’s strength. I’ll be honest and say I don’t do Kingdom Hearts in the slightest, so forgive me if I mess up some information. Mickey I believe should be just about large star level due to being comparable to Sora, who tussled with Hercules, who defeated the Titans via chucking them into the galaxy space, and the Titans took down everyone in Olympus including Zeus, who is capable of creating entire constellations. He should be comparable to Sora, Donald, and Goofy, and he himself has taken down 12 Replica Xehanorts with his Keyblade, which is impressive because they are somewhat comparable to the real Mansexnort. So in terms of strength, I think Yoda edges out due to being solar system level. I won’t focus much on durability since it should likely scale to strength, but things like Force Barrier or Light Barriers should be good durability-enhancers that cancel each other out.

Speed-wise, Mickey takes it. He should be comparable to peeps like Roxas, who traveled from Radiant Garden to the Keyblade Graveyard, which would be 66,000,000c, something Mickey should scale too. Yoda isn’t too far behind, scales to Sidious moving stars which should be at 15,000,000c, and consistently reacts to blaster bolts, which have numerous consistent statements confirming they’re lightspeed, and should upscale to the likes of Obi-Wan and Anakin, with the former having nanosecond timing statements/reactionary speed, and the latter reacting within Hyperspace, which is 1,071c for perception speed. So I do believe Mickey is faster, although not enough to fully blitz Yoda in my opinion.

In terms of their weapons, Mickey’s keyblade outshines the lightsaber by miles. Lightsabers don’t have too many special properties besides being able to reflect blaster bolts or Force Lightning, and can cut through in-universe Star Wars metals like durasteel or Mandalorian iron, whereas the keyblade is generally just way more versatile. It’s got numerous hax it can perform such as sealing someone in the “world heart,” the collective essence of a world. They also have conceptual manipulation/damage since they can dissipate the “existence of darkness”, otherwise known as the Heartless, literal embodiments of the primordial darkness that at the beginning of creation. The last and probably most crucial attack it has is the light beam’s ability to force a being’s heart outside of its body, which can cause someone's body and soul both cease to exist. All in all, the keyblade > the lightsaber. Experience-wise, I think it goes to Yoda. Both are fairly comfortable taking out large hordes of enemies (i.e. Battle Droids and Heartless), and have fought incredibly powerful enemies within their verses. Yoda’s fought on par with Sith such as Count Dooku and Darth Sidious, the latter being described as the most powerful Dark Side user/Sith in the history of Star Wars, and Mickey has taken on beings like Ansem, the Seeker of Darkness, and even a younger Xehanort before without Sora’s help. Their fighting styles are relatively similar, using brute force despite their small stature to surprise and overwhelm their enemies, but Yoda edges out by virtue of having 900 years of experience under his belt that has allowed him to master all there is to lightsaber combat.

So Yoda has strength and Mickey has speed, meaning we’re down to the more crucial part, hax. I’m not gonna list every hax they have, instead I’ll bring up all of the best comparisons between their hax and who wins in what interaction. In terms of their main hax, Yoda’s telekinesis vs Mickey’s light attacks/power. They don’t really counter each other or cancel each other out, but their other hax have ways around each of their hax. Yoda’s Tutaminis ability can more than likely repel the most basic of light attacks and techniques like Holy or Sign of Faith can also be repelled via Force Barriers or telekinesis. Both have a form of invisibility, Force Concealment and Light Coating, so they should cancel each other out there. Yoda can sense the thoughts of someone via telepathy and Mickey can sense the light within someone, so they should cancel out there too. Both of them have force-fields, Force Barrier and Light Barriers so they should cancel out there as well. They also have healing methods, Force Healing and Light Healing, albeit it is mainly used to help their allies, albeit they can use it on themselves, but Mickey can cancel out Yoda’s Force Healing with his keyblade’s negation, since Mickey can consistently fight Heartless, and if a Heartless is killed by anything beside the keyblade, they will return. Mickey doesn’t really have any hard counters for things like Farsight or Mind Trick, although Mind Trick is usually done on opponents who aren’t really active or trying to fight him per say. Alter Environment and Stonepower are really good options to clash with Mickey’s elemental magic like Blizzaga or Firaga, and could offer unique dynamics there. In terms of the range of their hax, Mickey should edge out here. Force Disarm can’t disable Mickey of his keyblade since keyblades are exclusive to their owner, as they choose the wielder and are connected to their hearts. Teleportation and full-blown flight alone should be enough to either close the distance or increase the distance, and are much better options than things like Force Valor or Force Jump. If I had to say what both of their biggest hax would be, Yoda’s would be; Farsight, Telekinesis, Shatterpoint/Shatterpoint Perception, and Tutaminis. Mickey’s would be Ultima, Time Stop, Mini, Sealing, and the keyblade’s ability to take out the heart (not sure what to name it). Yoda’s telekinesis or Force Barrier could maybe at most delay Ultima, but more times than not it can more than likely overpower him, or Yoda could potentially match it with Force Light. Shatterpoint I don’t think can really exploit Mickey’s Heart, Shatterpoint Perception could maybe figure out how to deal with it, but Yoda doesn’t really have any hax that fully overpower Mickey. On the contrary, Time Stop, Mini, and Sealing, are all hax Yoda simply has no counter too. Farsight could easily see it coming since it's been able to sense the return of the Dark Side 200 years in advance, but he has no good way to prevent it or kill him in time since Mickey’s healing power and magic potions can easily keep Mickey in the fight if he takes any serious harm. Yoda can certainly avoid being in range of Mini, but he can’t resist its effects at all, and that just leaves him more vulnerable. And Sealing is something Yoda simply can’t counter or escape. In terms of outlasting, Yoda while he may have a way more pool of Force energy to draw from, he is more likely to tire out faster, whereas despite most of Mickey’s attacks draining some Light for him, he has easy ways of restoring energy like Light Healing or his magic potions, which can fully restore his MP (magic points). And finally, I don’t see Yoda tanking an attack that literally takes out your heart and erases you from existence. To add insult to injury, I can see this ability even taking out Force Ghost Yoda since it can cause both the body and the soul to cease to exist

Edit: Scratch what I said above. Force Ghost would survive because it isn’t a soul so much as it is a manifestation of the Force that takes the form of a person. Yoda would still die obviously but his Force Ghost would be fine.

Simply put, Mickey’s hax just cut off Yoda’s main wincons. He can counter or cancel out most of Yoda’s hax like Force Disarm and Alter Environment, and his main hax simply just make it hard for Yoda to win off AP alone. Time Stop is too huge of a power and something Yoda hasn’t properly dealt with in the Star Wars universe, same with sealing. Yoda’s Force abilities can only delay the inevitable for any of the big hax of Mickey’s to work, but when it comes to sufficing the damage, Yoda falls short. So while Yoda is stronger, more experienced, and has enough hax to keep Mickey at bay, Mickey is faster, way more haxxier, and the keyblade should easily outclass the lightsaber in every way. With that the winner of this Death Battle, King Mickey is.

So we got the Season 8 Premiere reveal. I wasn’t originally expecting we’d get this, I definitely thought it would be Meta Knight vs Yoda, and yet here we are. I’ll keep this short and simple since I don’t know all the full in depth stuff regarding KH and SW, but from what I’ve heard I think I know who should win.

Mickey scales to, and possibly above Roxas who has a 65 million c feat. This should already put him above Yoda, even with the recent SW calc.

Basically, Yoda could be argued to MFTL+ due to Sidious moving stars, (The frequently argued calc for this feat gets 15 million c). I personally find this feat to be a little weird, but even when taking it into account, the fact that we don’t have a confirmed timeframe or see the rearrangement in action makes me think it shouldn’t get as high as people claim it does. It could also range around the thousands, so overall, speed would pretty safely go to Mickey. He either blitzes If we take into account the lower or mid ends, or is just around 4x faster. Either way it’s a solid advantage.

As for ap/durability, using the same Sidious feat puts Yoda at around Large Star, possibly Solar System level. However Sora and Xehanort have multiple universal arguments with stuff like Sora’s heartless, which is Universal given the destruction of the data world and how it’s a universe. I don’t know the full specifics of the arguments but from what I’ve heard of, it should be fine. Mickey also has Large Star - Solar System arguments so at absolute worst this should be an even in ap scenario, with an edge going towards Mickey considering his Uni scaling.

Finally in terms of non stat advantages, Yoda does seem to have more experience than Mickey. And they’re likely even in skill. But Mickey has more versatility with his many types of different magic and abilities, although Force powers do give Yoda many options as well. Most of the force powers and magic Mickey possesses seem to counter each other well, except for time manipulation which Yoda has no way to bypass. Yoda likely has better range though.

So overall in terms of advantages, Yoda is more experienced and has more range, while Mickey has a massive ap advantage, a massive speed advantage, better abilities, and more versatility. King Mickey should unlock the key to victory , although I wouldn’t be surprised if db ended up having Yoda win. I am very much looking forward to this episode, btw. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.

Hyperstarman

(More Star Wars in DB is hype for me. Now if we get Vader vs Obito I will be very happy.)

Oh boy, we’re back with the big 10 year anniversary season of death battle. What’s the first match on our hands?

Oh my lord, I find this so hilarious. While I did prefer Meta Knight for Yoda, I can live with this. Just means we’ll have to wait a little longer for Mickey vs Bugs and Palpatine vs Xehanort which is a bit of a shame, but it’s whatever. A weird way to start the season I have to say, but from what they’ve shown in the teaser, I’m hyped. Seeing more Star Wars in the show puts a big ol grin on my face and seeing my friends who are into Kingdom Hearts finally get a new rep from the series again is cool for them too. So let's dive into this and right off the bat, I feel that King Mickey should take it. At most Yoda is large star (I don’t agree with Solar System at most for Yoda personally) via scaling to Palpatine moving stars and lowballing King Mickey he’d also be large star via scaling to Zeus moving stars making AP fairly even, though I personally think King Mickey should comfortably be universal but for Yoda’s sake let's make it fair for him. Mickey should also be faster as he scales to Roxas 66,000,000c feat of traveling from the Radiant Garden to the Keyblade Graveyard. Although it is not a biltz as Yoda is comparable to Palpatine, who moved a star at 13.38 million times FTL (assuming it’s 10 seconds for a high end) so he can still keep up with the force right? Well Mickey’s abilities are much more vast than what Yoda has with the force as he has a plethora of magic and light based attacks that can quickly overwhelm Yoda. Combine all that with a time stop ability in Mickey’s disposal, King Mickey seems to be the safer choice overall in this bout. Even if you gave Solar System AP to Yoda, it wouldn’t be enough to one shot and Mickey is still faster and his variety of abilities would allow him to take the win more times than not.

(So just like how it is in real life, Disney continues to rule over Star Wars.)

That’s all I gotta say for now, excited to see the first episode of the big anniversary season for death battle and what the future episodes will hold this year.

Holy shit, my first prediction and it's a KH match-up. This isn't gonna be pretty, but let's give it a shot.

Yoda definitely has the experience, but the gap isn't as insanely wide as you think. I mean… it's still insanely wide, but like… shut up. Baby Yoda (or whatever that annoying Muppet is) isn't as baby as you'd think. It's actually 50 years old. Given how it can't fucking do anything except sell merchandise, it's safe to assume it's not quite a fighter yet. Let's assume that Yoda started kicking ass when he was a teenager (for his race). He'd probably be around 200 years old by then, give or take. Mickey doesn't exactly have a definitive age that I know of, but common belief suggests he's a young adult as a low end, and middle aged as a high end. He was a Keyblade master by the time Kairi was a kid so he's been doing this for a minimum of 15 years. That's obviously still over half a millennium gap, but let's stretch a bit for fun. The Timeless River is a world devoted to the good old days of classic Mickey Mouse and economic depression. Mickey has memories of these classic days, so let's assume he's been fighting Heartless for that long instead. Steamboat Willie came out in 1928, and KH is still an ongoing series. With that in account, the experience gap is now reduced by almost a full century. But this is honestly a pretty stupid claim to assume Mickey is an immortal who doesn't age, but it's funny to imagine that being true. Point is, no amount of stretching can change that Yoda has this (pretty meaningless) advantage.

AP goes to Mickey no matter how you look at it, at least imo. This is the most annoying stat, to be completely honest with you. Ever since a certain event, both Star Wars and Kingdom Hearts have been absolutely crippled compared to their glory days. That being said, only one series has mostly recovered since then. At bare minimum, Mickey is Star level, which is where Yoda is at, according to the majority. Unfortunately for Jim Henson's contribution to Star Wars, Mickey's high end (and accepted level) is universal. At best, Yoda is multi solar system, which as you're probably aware, is nothing compared to uni.

Speed is also pretty clear cut. Again, in Mickey's favor. So far this is the most clear cut stat (that actually matters). While idk how speed feats in Star Wars works, I do know that Mickey scales to Roxas, who's infamous speed feat in KH3 puts him and the others pretty high into the millions (times the speed of light, or "c"). Yoda is also in the millions, but iirc he's only 15 million c while Mickey is 65 million c. And that's not including any feats relating to the Gummi ship because for the life of me I can't find out how fucking fast that thing is. There's also a Merlin feat really similar to the Roxas one but some people argue he used magic and therefore didn't have to steer to get there, but as far as I can tell, that's not how magic works in Kingdom Hearts. Regardless, speed goes to Mickey.

Versatility is tricky. For a while I've been downplaying the Force because my knowledge went as far as "Hur hur, you throw da person without touching them", "ohh lightning", and "your mind is mine." But apparently the Force can just do anything, which I honestly should've expected. But the Keyblade does the exact same thing, and more. Off the top of my head, the main thing Mickey has that Yoda doesn't is the ability to stop time, which is pretty damn good in a fight. So yeah Mickey has a solid advantage there too.

Last one is how hot they are. Now this one is tough as they're- no I'm not continuing this bit.

I'm not going to act like this is a stomp, because there's a good chance it isn't and I'm just bad at this, but in my honest opinion, Mickey just seems to have almost every advantage. He has the power to turn Yoda into green powder (do not snort), his versatility is a step above the Force and then some, and he most likely blitzes. Of course should all of that fail him, he can always rely on his most powerful attack, a cease and desist (original joke, I know). To be honest I'm just hyped for this episode and while I believe Mickey should take this, I'm happy with whatever. I'm sold simply by the fact that it brought back Kingdom Hearts. Can't wait to see Amber's reaction.

Notatruename

(Shoulda been Palpanort smh my head oh and this song is a banger thanks Brandon)

Aight cool we getting a new DB season what’s the premiere

Huh. Frankly woulda kept Yoda out of DB in the first place since the guy is basically just “Kenobi but scales higher” and none of his MUs are like, at all good but what can ya do I guess.

Idk transitions are hard lets talk strength first

So a lot of their low end scaling gets around the same level, feats like Dreadnought TK, containing Ambria, Hercules yeeting the titans into space, etc. all should get around similar results, being around City-Country or so. This is nowhere close to their best scaling however. Both of them can scale to constellation feats done by others, being The Senate and Zeus respectively. Admittedly Zeus can get an actual number on his feat since it’s shown and not talked about in pages, but even then both feats shouldn’t be far off. The problem comes in later, however, as Mickey can compare to Sora’s heartless, which is capable of destroying the whole data realm universe do I need to continue this point lmao. The highest you can get Yoda is Solar System and that’s gonna be a big ol’ idk bout’ that chief from me. The only Star Wars characters I think you could argue as being SS are:

-Dark Empire Palpatine, who is explicitly far stronger than when he fought Yoda, and Yoda already had difficulties fighting him

-The Celestials like The Son/Daughter, who are stated to be far stronger than Prequel Era creamy Sheev

-Abeloth/Luke when he fought her, who are stronger than both previous examples

So his only hope of possibly having an AP advantage relies on very not reliable arguments

Ok so speed, what about that? Can the Ketamine frog blitz the shit out of Mickey? Ehhhhhhhhh no. Best you can ever maybe scale Yoda to is like 13 Million c off of Palpy’s constellation movement. Mickey’s gets 25 Million off of his constellation feat, and 66 Million (ironic) off Roxas going fast. Boom that was easy.

Now hax? Can Yoda keep afloat in ha- no this is KH hax lmao Yoda can’t counter like any of Mickey’s good shit like Stopza, insta-death, or healing.

So let’s summarize:

Yoda is, at best, maybe comparable in AP/Dura

Yoda is, at best, not blitzed to shit

Yoda cannot pull a dub through hax or outlasting his opponent

And Yoda’s Ketamine/Honda Civic powers, which admittedly make him Multiversal+/Irrelevant speed/Passive Unresistable Conceptual Erasure hax are nonstandard since they got retconned in “Gamer Yoda files his Tax Returns” #69 smh peeps don’t read comics

So this season opener is going to go to King Mickey. Size matters not, except when the size is who has the bigger numbers lmao

This has been “A guy who’s Kingdom Hearts knowledge can be summarized by this talks Kingdom Hearts in VS”, can’t wait for the rest of the season cause all the characters I like who got revealed are inevitably gonna die lmao gonna be great.

Besides even if Yoda does win it still ain’t gonna fix what the Mouse did to the franchise already

Time

Well, new year brings a new season, and it seems we’re starting off with Palpatine VS Xehanort’s lighter cousin. This match isn’t quite as hot as the Galaxy Chucker and Master of the Mansex throwing down, but it’s still ramping up to look like a good time, so let’s dive into this.

Looking at the physical stats, Yoda fights on even footing with Palpatine, meaning his power with the Force should match Papa Sheev moving stars around as a byproduct of murdering his master. The sheer speeds these stars moved could also potentially scale to Fucksalot and by extension Jedi Kermit, which would place them generally millions of times faster than light. In comparison, Prince Michael can match Sora, who can keep up with the likes of Hercules and his dad Zeus, who can also create constellations. He can also keep up with Roxas, who can yeet his ghost across the cosmos at 60 million c. With potential arguments for Ickey Mickey scaling to Universal shenanigans through Nort’s χ-Blade and its connection to Kingdom Hearts, Yoda is at best comparable in strength and speed, with the possibility of being significantly outmuscled.

Unfortunately for our favorite Force sensitive green bean, he lacks many of the abilities which Palpatine could use against Nort, and is left with a much more standard array of Jedi abilities. While lightsabers are useful weapons and telekinesis can be a deadly power, they don’t pack the kind of punch necessary to get the upper hand on the King of Copyright when he can heal from just about any injury and automatically teleport out of harm’s way. Although Yoda may possess some potential to mindfuck Mickey, the latter has broken free of mental shenanigans like confusion spells before and Yoda doesn’t prefer to dominate enemy brains often in combat anyways. Even in mobility, which Yoda’s mastery of Ataru specifically maximizes to compensate for his small stature, has the Jedi Grandmaster outpaced when King Mickey can fly and teleport at will. Add in abilities like stat debuffs by shrinking the Space Frog with Mini or stopping him in his tracks with Stopza, and the Royal Rat solidly takes the edge in terms of abilities. The key exception of course, is Yoda’s legendary stick, as Mickey could never surpass something better than bacon

Overall, this fight has some potential for comparable stats, but even when power and speed lie on completely even footing, Mike has too many ways to outmaneuver and stop Yodel to land a killing blow. Yoda best start walking towards the Light, because King Mickey is gonna rock his mic properly.

Also the track better be called the Key to Ketamine SMH.

Joshski

Well this is uh certainly a way to kickoff an anniversary season. NGL since Yoda vs Meta Knight never really clicked with me and my preferred opponent for the space muppet is practically locked in to kill Dumbledore this was probably the next best option for me even if it does mean we’ll have to wait a bit longer for Palpatine vs Xehanort.

Now to be as straight to the point as possible something that didn’t happen in the last blog, as much it hurts to admit I really don’t think this is Yoda’s fight. I know there is a lot of contention on KH and SW stats but even if you were to not buy any of the universal stuff for Kingdom Hearts and put Mickey at around star level while putting Yoda at solar system, Mickey still has a decent speed advantage (though likely not enough to hit blitz territory) and more than enough hax to end the fight.

Honestly while I do think Yoda can manage to squeeze out a win a few times and actually has a pretty decent shot of winning in the actual episode, more times than not I think Mickey’s speed and plethora of hax should be enough to give him victory over the Jedi Master.

After the hypefest of hulk VS broly i was curious as to how they would top it. Simple. Another star wars character fighting a kingdom hearts character. I don't have a lot to say about this matchup other than i just think mickey wins no matter what. Even with equal stats and yoda’s 900 years of experience. Yoda doesn't have the speed, versatility, or self control to not do ketamine, to beat the mouse in the house. Yoda should've known Disney doesn't like drug dealers. Only child murder smh.

I’m gonna keep my thoughts on this fight simple and clean (heh).

King Mickey should win based on a rather sizable number of reasons.

For starters, speed. Mickey is at least 6 times faster than Yoda, but this gap could become astronomically greater if you believe that certain worlds in Kingdom Hearts are universes, which is a largely supported possibility or even downright fact based on Stitch’s world being called a universe. This can also only be referring to Stitch’s respective world and not the collective Kingdom Hearts cosmology, because the Grand Councilwoman has no knowledge of other worlds despite “overseeing the universe”, plus the characters in Stitch’s world have no means by which to travel outside their own world due to the dimensional barriers that keep people from leaving their respective worlds being present at the time. There’s also Tron’s world, which is a whole digital world that exists within another world.

In terms of strength/durability, at absolute lowest interpretations, King Mickey would be large star level, while Yoda would be solar system level, so the gap would not be ridiculously high enough to justify Yoda one shotting Mickey. Take the interpretations any higher, and Mickey starts to take the cake in every stat.

In terms of abilities, while Yoda has an incredible range advantage and overall more abilities, Mickey just has ones that matter a lot more in the context of this fight. Yoda doesn’t have any ability that qualifies as an instant win move. Closest thing is mind manipulation but he doesn’t have mind-destroying hax or anything like that, just a form of hypnosis, that King Mickey should very well be able to resist since confusion spells are numerous in Kingdom Hearts. King Mickey meanwhile can destroy Yoda’s Heart or even just remove it from his body, and that would be an instant win. That should be fairly easy to pull off not just because he’s got a solid speed advantage, but because he has multiple time slowing/stopping spells that Yoda can’t resist, being able to teleport distances even Yoda can’t reach, and multiple abilities that stun or cause paralysis. All of these abilities, including the Heart hax Mickey has, renders any strength advantage Yoda may get kind of moot because he’s going to struggle to ever land a decisive blow. To make matters worse on his end, even if he was about to land a hit, there’s a chance Mickey’s auto-teleport activates, which not only makes Yoda miss, but could allow Mickey to teleport next to Yoda to immediately punish him for it.

For some miscellaneous reasons, there’s also King Mickey having a stupid amount of healing options, which are not only more numerous than Yoda’s but way more effective too, since they can not only revive completely KO’d people, but restore them to full health/energy. This isn’t even just a gameplay thing either given how effective Mickey using Cure magic on Ventus during a cutscene was, promptly after Ventus got his ass kicked by Vanitas. There’s also the fact that Yoda will physically tire himself out far quicker than Mickey, because Mickey can not only heal himself and replenish his magic to keep himself going, but because just going off of track record, Yoda tires out rather quick, while Mickey can fight in wars where he’s one of like 8 warriors against thousands of heartless, plus the Real Organization XIII. Finally, if someone wanted to argue for a Yoda win from beyond the grave, Mickey could probably kill his Force Ghost too, given he can permanently kill undead cursed to live forever and has fought, well, ghosts.

Tl;Dr Mickey kills Yoda harder than Disney killed his franchise

Br3ndan5

I’ll admit, when I heard that Yoda was going to be in Death Battle, I initially thought that he was going to be fighting someone like Meta Knight considering how popular that match was. So when I read on Discord that he was going to be fighting the Kingdom Hearts version of Mickey Mouse, my initial thought was, “These guys are just joking around, right? Even for Death Battle, that’s a bit of an out-there match.” Then I saw the preview, and I was surprised by how good it looked. I’m really looking forward to the episode, and as of now, I’m predicting that Mickey will ultimately be the winner.

In terms of physical stats, at bare minimum, Yoda’s status as the strongest member of the Jedi Council would make him comparable to Yarael Poof, who could contain the planet-destroying energy of the Infant of Shaa despite being stabbed through the chest. But going by his highest showings, Yoda’s ability to fight Darth Sidious in Revenge of the Sith should put him on par with the Emperor, who was able to create a tremor that caused stars to shake and flare, as well as move constellations. This feat from Sidious would be consistent with the feats of other Sith Lords, such as Naga Sadow, who create a supernova by manipulating and destroying stars; and Vitiate, who could reproduce the Ritual of Nathema on a galactic scale, which would completely destroy it. And the reason all of this would scale to Sidious, and by extension Yoda, is due to there being multiple statements of Sidious being the most powerful Sith Lord in galactic history.

As for good old Ricky Rat, he should be comparable to the other Guardians of Light, such as Sora. Sora was able to fight a fully-powered Xehanort, who wielded both the true χ-blade and the full power of Kingdom Hearts, which he intended to use to reset the universe. Sora managed to defeat this amped Xehanort without the need of any power-ups. During the events of Kingdom Hearts III: ReMind, which takes place after his fight with Xehanort, Sora used the Power of Waking to travel through time and fought the Xehanort Replicas, which he struggled to defeat. These same Replicas were later defeated by the Guardians of Light, which Mickey himself helped in, so it would make sense to scale him.

Regarding speed, Yoda’s shown his fair share of FTL feats, ranging from reacting to blaster bolts, which are able to move at lightspeed, to being faster than the likes of Obi-Wan, who could react in a nanosecond, or Count Dooku, who was directly stated to be faster than light. He’s also been able to keep up with Sidious, who was able to move stars, flew from Endor to Byss over the course of a year, and appeared as a blur to Anakin; the latter of whom could react while piloting a ship in hyperspace, which would require a reaction speed of over 1,000 times FTL. If we were to scale him to the World Razer, this could give him an advantage that even the highest speed feat from Kingdom Hearts can’t match.

Meanwhile, Mickey’s been able to fight a possessed Ventus, whose base form could react to Stitch’s space cruiser while it was in hyperspace, and has kept up in battle while fighting alongside Sora. This, as well as the fact that he fought alongside its other members, should allow him to scale to the other Guardians of Light, which would include Roxas, who could fly from Radiant Garden to the Skein of Severance in a matter of seconds.

Experience and intellect are both no-brainers considering that Yoda’s over 900 and has had more time to refine his swordsmanship, and his mastery of the seven forms grants him a versatility that would make it harder for Mickey in close-quarters.

But where Yoda has an edge in combat styles, Mickey’s got an edge in what he can use to fight him. Mickey’s Keyblades each have different advantages in physical and magical strength, but they all have one thing in common: they can damage Yoda’s heart, harming the Jedi at a level he can’t recover from. Not even his Force abilities could heal him, since Mickey’s Keyblade can negate regeneration. Speaking of which, Mickey’s potions could allow him to heal and refill his magic, negating one of the weaknesses of his more magic-based abilities.

But when it comes to their main loadout of abilities, I’m honestly a bit conflicted. Of the two, Yoda easily has the edge in versatility. He’s got several ways of increasing distance between them with Force Push, Shove, Throw, and Wave. Farsight and Shatterpoint give Yoda the ability to predict Mickey’s actions, find his weaknesses, and judge the best course of action. Force Disarm could remove one of Mickey’s Keyblades, but it would only be a temporary advantage due to Mickey’s number of Keyblades and his own speed letting him recover them quickly. The Jedi Mind Trick could potentially affect Mickey, but Mickey’s ability to break out of similar abilities makes that questionable. Force Concealment would make it harder for Mickey to track him. Force Crush could possibly bypass Mickey’s durability, and Force Valor and Speed could let Yoda lessen the gap in stats (or increase it depending on how you view the World Razer). Tutaminis and Force Barrier give him means of defending against Mickey, with the latter negating Mickey’s long-range spells. Alter Environment would give him control over his surroundings, and Force Light could be used to deflect Mickey’s light-based magic attacks.

Unfortunately, despite all of these abilities, they ultimately wouldn’t amount to much since he can’t really capitalize on it. Even if scaled to the World Razer, the only power he has that could potentially give him a win over Mickey is by using Force Crush, which isn’t one of the first options he’d go for in a fight.

As for Mickey, his flight and teleportation give him better mobility, he has better healing and defensive options that Yoda can’t counter, he can create multiple light-based beams and balls for more offensive long-range attacks, weaken Yoda with Mini, and his time manipulation is something that Yoda ultimately has no counter to. Even if he was given the benefit of World Razer scaling, the wide AOE of Stopza leaves Yoda with no way of avoiding it even if he tried to put distance between them. It doesn’t help that even if Yoda did manage to kill Mickey, he could just use the Power of Waking to come back to life, and with Yoda’s poor stamina, it’s unlikely the Grandmaster would last much longer after that.

Yoda may have had more experience, better skill, a larger range of powers, and a possible speed advantage. Unfortunately, they just couldn’t stack up to Mickey’s superior strength, durability, mobility, healing options, stamina, and more potent hax.

Yoda fought hard, but Mickey ultimately had the key to victory.

The winner is Mickey Mouse.

SoMaShadow

(I’ve got it bad for Fate)

Straight out the gate, this certainly wasn’t what I was expecting for the first battle of Season 8. I thought we’d get Yoda’s battle around early May for the May the Fourth joke to be concurrent like with Obi-Wan, and for Yoda to fight Meta Knight (despite the fact that I’m not a super big fan of the fight, and Jubei is much more thematic). So to get Yoda’s episode first up, and against King Mickey of all people was a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

Seeing the animation they’ve already got, and the debates that have been sparked because of this have been just great, really. I never thought we’d get King Mickey, but it works better than Meta Knight does, and it saves Meta Knight for a more fitting matchup later down the line, hopefully. Going into this, I can definitely say that I’m hard rooting for Yoda.

Now, for the actual fight itself. Kingdom Hearts have been subject to many people questioning the validity of their Universal feats, and most people put the characters at Planet level instead, and I’m not going to heavily argue for either side, but while I do generally roll with Universal, using the Planet interpretations are enough for this one.

In terms of power, King Mickey sits comfortably at around planetary or so, and Yoda has scaling from Star to Solar System, which would give him a pretty good edge against Mickey. This edge in power is somewhat negated due to the gap in speed and hax, however. Yoda should be around 15 million c via scaling to Darth Sidious moving stars, but Mickey scales to Roxas’s speed of 66 million c from travelling between the Radiant Garden and the Keyblade Graveyard.

Yoda definitely takes other areas like intelligence and experience, since he’s got just shy of a millenium’s worth of experience in using the force and training others in its use, whereas Mickey’s got nowhere even close to that level of expertise. Yoda’s control over his powers are also much greater, and he can fight more easily at range with his force powers, though he’s no slouch in close-quarters combat. But here’s the kicker, their hax and abilities.

At first glance, the Force seems like a much greater ally in battle, but Yoda’s abilities tend to be a bit more passive. Granted, his telekinesis, teleportation and ability to reflect attacks with Tutaminis is great, and surely will be able to keep Mickey at bay long enough for Yoda to set up a solid control over the flow of battle, but his arsenal is just slightly outdone by the king’s.

Lightsabers can be destroyed with enough force to the hilt, while Keyblades don’t suffer this issue, being nigh-indestructible by ordinary means, and with their plethora of abilities they afford to their wielders, they’re easily the preferable option in terms of melee weaponry (even if Lightsabers are much cooler). Mickey’s healing abilities are also much quicker and efficient than Yoda’s are, and he can replenish his magic and health with the use of potions, so he’s not going to be running low on magic any time soon. But Mickey’s ace in the hole are his Ultima and Stopza spells, which inflict massive damage, and stop time respectively.

Simply put, Yoda has nothing to really deal with a time stop. He might be a bit stronger, but Mickey has hax which can let him destroy or even just remove Yoda's heart for an instant-kill he has no way of resisting, and Auto-Teleport can let Mickey evade any lethal blows Yoda might make. Plus, Mini can debuff Yoda’s strength and defence, and Yoda isn’t a fighter built for stamina. His fights are rather short, and doesn’t have battles that go on for such extended periods of time. He’s over 900, after all.

In contrast, Mickey suffers no such problems with stamina. He can easily keep the battle going long enough to tire Yoda out and land a killing blow with his greater speed. Yoda’s chances also aren’t helped by the fact that Mickey has broken through magic comparable to Yoda’s Mind Tricks, and though Yoda might be able to fight on as a Force Ghost, Keyblade can harm ghosts and other non-corporeal opponents, so he’s not even safe after death. However, if Mickey dies, he can use the Power of Waking to bring himself back to life, something Yoda can’t really counter, since he can’t afford to keep having to put Mickey down several times when it’s hard enough for him to do in the first place.

Now, Yoda’s 2001 Honda Civic would be a problem, but this is balanced out by his Ketamine addiction and belief that Allah cannot forgive him for the actions he has committed, meaning that his own mental state could put him at risk during the fight. Mickey, as the face of Disney, clearly has the edge with their brutal business practises, monopoly over the entertainment industry and total lack of remorse, meaning he will be willing to do anything to win, as is consistent with Disney’s history as a whole, giving him a huge mental edge.

Overall, Yoda has the strength, intelligence, range and experience necessary to give Mickey the hardest fight of his life, but the King’s greater speed, hax, stamina and abilities should be enough to give him a hard-fought victory against the Jedi Grandmaster.

Mickey just had the key to force a victory in this stellar battle.

The winner is King Mickey.

Agent

(FF9 goated y’all. Since we got a semi Final Fantasy related thing, might as well be Vivi)

Ah yes, I knew Yoda would get it, and hoped and expected him to fight Meta Knight, but King Mickey on the reveal? That was a shocker I tell y’all. Luckily, this match is probably a bit more debatable, but still seeming to be clear cut in Mickey’s favor after some KH stuff going on. For my fist bit of shit I post, I’ll just point out issues with scaling bitches like Yoda and Papa Palpatine to the Word Razer. You catch that? Yes? Good. So, now’s my scoop with that feat. Anyways, time to scale them to shit. What should we scale Yoda to? Lets scale him to Anakin ship piloting, which given the timeframe and method, gets over 1000c, as seen here. As for other feats Yoda can scale to, him being a high/mid tier lets him scale to a very debatable Star moving feat, which can be interpreted as hyperbole, clocking him at 15 Millions C. I can’t find the feat but we- oh here it is! This is still paling into what Mickey can do. Scaling to possible Universal level data stuff, and well, Br3ndan5 and others covered his stats fairly well actually. So Mickey’s stronger, and faster, as well has possibly having even more hax on hand to the green master off. So yeah, that’s my scoop on how I take this matchup, and I’ll take a Mickey W, even if it means a Yoda L.

Anyways, with this out of the way, I’m glad to be here this season, and will be excited for the rest of the season and what else we might get. As for who Meta Knight may end up fighting, I don’t know, I just hope he gets in at some point with him being my favorite Kirby character, with King Dedede in number 2. Zero I guess is okay, it just isn’t that interesting to me, and X era has more connections with him anyway, but Zero era wasn’t used in his OG episode, but hey, what you gonna do. All I hope is just for a perfect win streak for Kirby like we all hope for. So yeah, was a fun blog y’all! Will see you next episode, and might recline and share a beer (but I legitimately don’t drink, I just like messing around and having a good time). Have a great episode fams!

Well well well……...Uh well did not know that Yoda vs King Mickey is actually gonna happen in Death Battle like it seem like it was a least popular MU and all I gotta say is that Death Battle should have used KH Mickey feats if Mickey were to go against Bugs but eh this MU is not a bad idea but anyways enough ranting.

First I wanna say that this is my first time being on this Prediction Blog without having much knowledge on both but I felt like coming here cause fuck it, why not, just wanna shoutout to Bang for inviting me here to this and I wanna give a shoutout to my dudes such as SkyBlazero (Great job on helping me on King Mickey’s feats dude if you reading this) TheGreatDimentio, KirbySakurai, Ican’thinkof1goodname (I guess……….), Y3p Owo, Oofman and everyone else that supported this year and last year. (I could not fill much people in sorry)

So to safely put, the result of this matchup will go down to King Mickey and here is why…...

In terms of strength, Yoda seems to have fought opponents that can literally shake down stars and constellations with ease and he is also stated to be the most powerful Jedi of all time from multiple sources so pretty much Yoda seems to have Large Star to Solar System attack potency because of this and as for Mickey well he scales to Sora which he was capable of creating mini suns which was calculated at Island Level which seems a pretty shocking result since I expected it to be higher but that is not the max of where Mickey stands at since he even scales to Xehanort that can moved the moon which the moon feat was calced at Large Planet Level and he is likely comparable to Zeus who can create entire constellations and did a feat such as this and he also scales to Sora’s Heartless which can destroy the Data Realm which is a Universe so if I am being honest, Mickey takes this easily in strength in my opinion but if you don’t believe he should be in the Universal range then sure for the benefit of the doubt, let just say that he should not be in the Universal spot, Mickey should still takes this just barley and it is kinda a rare case of when hax and speed beats strength and durability.

So in speed, both seem to have shown a lot of speed feats capping at FTL-Massive FTL+. Yoda has shown to dodge attacks that reach light speed and is stated to be lightspeed attacks and has fought with opponents that has travel speeds reaching Massive FTL+. Mickey at the other hand should scale to opponents that transverse between worlds that can easily exist in multiple solar systems in 130 seconds so yeah it is safe to say that Mickey has a better speed then Yoda but I don’t think neither would be blitzing in my opinion.

Now in terms of hax, I feel it goes to Mickey like sure Yoda has a ton of abilities with the Force such reading someone’s minds and being to able to have better enhanced senses and can heal others but Mickey has a ton of more hax such as him able to heal, having Light Manipulation via Light Barriers and Protection and can easily resist Mind Manipulation, Soul Manipulation, able to move in the Realm of Darkness, and can even resist Corruption and Existence Erasure and what is stopping Mickey from pulling a Za Wardo on Yoda through his Stopza that can literally stop time and can even reduce damage so overall I am safe to say that King Mickey will be taking this W and he should be glad he is not facing against Bugs cause KH or not, he will still lose to the Wabbit lol.

The Winner is King Mickey

I, like many others, was 100% expecting Yoda to be fighting Meta Knight. However, this is a much more interesting matchup as I think we can all probably agree MK stomps with little to no difficulty. This is much more debatable, and there’s a hell of a lot more to look at than just stats. They’re pretty comparable depending on where you put them, with it possible that both are Large Star and Millions C! The big difference here is that Mickey’s high ends are so much more impressive than Yoda’s. Solar System vs Universal is a PRETTY BIG GAP all things considered, so you’d have to highball Yoda and Lowball Mickey in order for this MU to result in a stat win for the former.

Hax is the big deal here, though. The force has a wide variety of powers that benefit Yoda, but honestly none of it compared to Mickey’s more impressive abilities. Stopza is easily one of the most OP abilities seen in Death Battle thus far, so Mickey popping that is essentially a free win for him. In summary, I just do not see Yoda winning this matchup. In the end, I think King Mickey is going to be showing everyone’s favorite green Jedi who’s the real master!

We back in action bitches! Death Battle time, and what a way to kick off the season! Basically the Good Guy version of Sheev vs Nort. So as the resident Star Wars lad, what’s my take on this? I’m glad you asked, hypothetical voice in my head! Must. Remove. Force. Fields.

So let’s start off w stats.

Ignore the universe sized elephant in the room, which Mokey might not even scale to, both these bastards come in around the star-solar system range. So ap and dura is pretty even.

Speed is where we start seeing some differences.

Whereas Yoda scales to 13 million FTL, Mick edges out by double that, possibly even higher depending on what you buy.

But this fight mostly comes down to hax, and at that front, you really gotta look at the details.

Yoda can resist most of Mickey’s elemental shenanigans through Tutamanis, and Mickey’s magic supplies are susceptible to running out. The problems for Yoda arrive, however, when one considers how well Mickey can play the long game with Yoda, especially if one considers the fact that he can just as easily heal off damage or restore his magic.

Mini and Stopza hurt Yoda more than anything else in his arsenal, as Yoda has no counter for the latter and for the former it just makes Yoda’s biggest weakness in a fight all the more prevalent.

Yoda sucks at playing the long game. He’s old as balls, and can only go at it for only so much time before he runs out of steam and needs to take a rest before he can get going again. Obvious sex joke is obvious. Regardless of what both can do, Ming Kickey can stay in the fight more reliably and can easily wear down Yoda before going in for the kill. This is ignoring the fact that Mickey can just pluck out his soul and be done with it, or the fact that KH characters have a stupid strong healing factor thanks to Heart shenanigans.

At the end of the day, King Mickey, has the edge here. I’ll be rooting for Yoda and will be happy if he takes it but the Mouse will claim the crown here, and Yoda will more than likely take the grand fall.

    1. Agreed. This is arguably the best season premiere we had in like, ever. Love Star Wars and really like Kingdom Hearts, so this is a big win-win for me.

  4. I hope Meta-Knight gets a good fight in the future. Probably won't be this season tho

  5. Meta Knight vs Yoda? I've seen more people wanting meta knight vs zero.

Also, love the one guy who wanted Broly to win popping off.

    1. He wasn't the only one who wanted him to win. At best, he was one of the few who thought he stood a chance.

    2. I mean he was the only guy on the blog who wanted Broly to win. All the other guys giving their predictions backed Hulk. I'm surprised more people didn't give their thoughts on the previous DB, along with the verdict.

  6. The animation looks like it's stepped up, this one's gonna be hype. Really hope we get Shadow vs Ryoku, feel like Shadow needs some justice done.

    2. Congratz, you get to see your boi demolish our favorite girl of Kill la Kill with ease.

Feel no one even bothered to check out the huge powergap difference between the two combatants...

    3. Aside from extremely similar backstory, making this very much thematic.

    4. If Shadow was meant to be done justice, he would be fighting someone stronger than Ryuko. I'm just expecting a good fight with kickass music tbh. In terms of fairness, they both deserved better, but at least the matchup is really thematic.

    5. You do realize Shadow did get his justice when he already fought Mewtwo and Vegeta right? Despite death battle disrespecting him and his death, they were right on him losing to both of those combatants.

  8. The worlds in Kingdom Hearts definitely aren't smaller than planets to the point of city or country sized worlds... that's a massive lowball. When a world is destroyed it's treated like as if an entire star has gone out as seen from Traverse Town which is a world between worlds (not saying the worlds are as small as stars) and the worlds like Stitch's world have a character who oversees the universe but never interacted with anything outside of the world (as shown with how they didn't know what Terra was). You can't judge the size of the world by how much you can travel in game. Games usually aren't able to accurately scale to the lore they are trying to follow.

Characters like Zeus from Hercules can easily move around hundreds of stars but something like this doesn't affect anything outside their world.

They even have characters transcending time which is infinitely greater than star level or below.
