Wiz, the genius and morally ambiguous brainiac.

Boomstick, the crude and crass weapons expert.

They’ve been analyzing your favorite characters for twelve years, killing beloved heroes and hated villains alike, much to the internet’s chagrin of course. But today they’ll get a taste of their own medicine as we run the data through all possibilities and end this debate once and for all. It’s time for the ultimate, long-awaited DEATH BATTLE!

In Case You Were Wondering…

In order to analyze Wiz and Boomstick, we need to establish how Death Battle itself works, since many items and abilities used by Wiz/Boomstick originate from the characters they Analyzed in Death Battle episodes.

The series of Death Battle clearly takes place in the same universe as the web series Red vs Blue. Death Battle is known by people in that universe; during Meta VS Carolina, it’s stated that Wiz and Boomstick are scientists in that universe, and it’s heavily implied that Sarge is Boomstick’s father.

  • DB ep 64 1:33 Death Battle is known in Red vs Blue.

  • DB ep 64 1:50 Wiz and Boomstick are scientists in the world of Red vs Blue.

  • DB ep 64 16:21 Wiz and Boomstick meet Sarge and its suggested he’s Boomstick’s dad.

Boomstick also mentions putting in a “two weeks notice” at one point. Which correlates with that assumption that Wiz and Boomstick are researchers in the world of Red vs Blue, whose job is probably to research characters and see who would win in a fight.

  • DB ep 111 11:35 Boomstick mentions a “two weeks notice”.

In terms of how fights themselves work, it’s shown in Meta VS Carolina that Wiz and Boomstick legitimately just spy on the characters to gather information on episodes, which they did to the Red/Blue crew.

  • DB ep 64 6:56 It’s implied Wiz/Boomstick spied on the RvB crew for the footage in Meta VS Carolina.

Likewise the fight of Meta VS Carolina is shown to be a simulation of some kind. As the fight itself does not alter RvB continuity, and the characters from that show watch it and react to the results.

  • DB ep 64 14:44 Meta VS Carolina is shown to be a simulation of some kind.

That said, any character in Death Battle probably does exist for real within DB’s continuity. Wiz and Boomstick likely just peer into alternate realities to study the characters they use on the show.  Boomstick is even shown to exist along with other famous characters on DBX.

Summarizing this, Wiz and Boomstick spy on characters from other fictional media, timelines, or multiverses, then create a simulated fight based on their observations. This also explains why they mention taking notes in many episodes, having interns and why the results or numbers for episodes using the same characters can change.

  • DB ep 37 5:00 Boomstick and Wiz have interns.

  • DB ep 99 6:28 It’s implied all the notes for the show aren't aren't just taken by Wiz and Boomstick.

That said the simulations do seem to have some element of “realness” to them. As Wiz has mentioned using instruments to track characters while they fight and some characters have broken into the DBX arena while fighting. This is likely due to some reality warping tech, which Wiz mentions he has experience with.

  • DB ep 43 14:00 Wiz and Boomstick use instruments of some kind to follow the Chuck Norris VS Sega Sanshiro fight.

  • Vegito vs Gogeta DBX 7:06 Gogeta and Vegito enter the DBX fighting arena.

  • DB ep 143 10:30 It’s stated Wiz invents reality warping tech for black markets.

In summary, Wiz and Boomstick are scientists in the Red vs Blue universe. They use tech to spy on the “real” counterparts of fictional characters from across the multiverse. Then create a simulation with reality warping tech, which recreates those characters in a Death Battle scenario. This essentially means that any item or weapon they use in the series originating from one of these characters should have the same “potency” as the original, or at least the same potency assumed by Wiz and Boomstick based on the research they performed (and given they can update research, we can just say any items can be upgraded to reflect new information).

Background

Wiz

It’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to see who would win a Death Battle!

The co-host of the show Death Battle. Wiz has a genius intellect and generally acts as the person who breaks down complex information when discussing which fictional characters would win in a fight. He’s also part of some kind of mad scientist community, and is fairly introverted, spending most of his time inside. He also seems to have some daddy issues and believes he didn’t earn his dad’s appreciation before he passed away.

While Wiz is “smarter” than his co-host Boomstick, he’s also much more emotionally unhinged. He’s stated to have bouts of “revenge madness” against his enemies, needs some kind of medication to keep his mind balanced, has implied he wants to take over the world on a few occasions and has destroyed multiple planets to get out of paying his student loans.

  • DB ep 78 2:35 Wiz states he’s had revenge madness.

  • DB ep 87 5:42 Wiz has prescription meds of some kind.

  • DB ep 91 0:55 Wiz implies he wants to take over the world.

  • DB ep 148 11:44 It’s stated that Wiz created a version of Sol’s Hammer that destroyed several planets.

  • Batman(vs Ironman) Preview 3:29 Wiz made a robot army that tried to overturn the UN.

  • DB ep 147 8:32 Wiz is wanted by homeland security.

Despite often acting like Boomstick is an annoyance, he clearly enjoys his company, having apparently known Boomstick since middle school and going on numerous trips and vacations with him since.

  • DB ep 48 9:25 Boomstick and Wiz go on trips together.

  • Db ep 68 1:31 Boomstick forgot to wear pants when he first met Wiz.

  • DB ep 85 1:42 It’s stated Wiz and Boomstick have known each other since middle school.

  • DB ep 101 9:09 Wiz and Boom go to bars together.

Wiz is also a bit of a pervert.

Wiz is apparently married. Though the identity of his spouse hasn’t been confirmed yet.

According to Death Battle lore Boomstick sawed off Wiz’s arm with a tachyon table saw.

Wiz is also the inventor of DUMMI.

Boomstick

He’s Wiz and I’m Boomstick!

The co-host of Death battle, along with Wizard. Unlike Wiz, Boomstick is a bit of a redneck. He lives in a shack/trailer in the middle of nowhere, hunts his own food, and is fairly uncultured. He was raised by a single mother, whom he claimed died in one episode, but who was later shown to be alive.

  • DB ep 81 7:25 Boomstick is Boomstick’s real name.

  • DB ep 26 7:00 Boomstick catches squirrels for supper.

  • DB ep 99 5:40 Boomstick lives in a shack.

  • DB ep 103 17:30 Boomstick says he lives in a trailer in the middle of nowhere.

  • Sauron Preview 3:30 Boomstick lives in a trailer park.

  • DB ep 85 11:11 Boomstick says his mom died to a ghost in a barn.

One of his big hangups is his father, who apparently ran out on him and his mom when he was a child. Throughout his life he’s cycled through several stepdads. Later seasons heavily imply that his father is Sarge from Red vs Blue.

  • DB ep 61 7:20 Boomstick mentions he doesn’t know where his father is.

  • Frank West Preview 2:31 Boomstick has had multiple stepdads, including zombies and pirates.

  • DB ep 29 1:10 Boomstick implies that he had a zombie pirate dad.

  • Top 10 Boomsticks 1:18 It’s stated Boomstick has had 13 stepfathers.

  • DB ep 139 11:15 Boomstick has a flashback to his father leaving.

  • DB ep 64 16:21 Wiz and Boomstick meet Sarge and it’s suggested he’s Boomstick’s dad.

  • DB ep 150 This entire ep is about finding Boomstick’s dad, and it’s again implied it’s Sarge.

Boomstick so has an ex-wife who left him for another man, and who he regularly describes as evil, terrible, ETC. He supposedly has to pay her alimony checks. Later episodes also imply he’s had multiple ex-wives.

  • DB ep 8 5:30 First mention of  Boomstick’s ex wife.

  • DB ep 22 2:06 Boomstick again mentions being married.

  • Db ep 39 3:44 Boomstick calls his ex-wife “death”.

  • DB ep 78 4:47 Boomstick mentions wanting to outrun his ex-wife.

  • DB ep 113 6:50 Boomstick gives alimony checks to his ex-wife.

  • Cole Preview 2:00 Boomstick has three ex-wives.

  • Gojo Preview 2:43 Boomstick lost count of how many ex-wives he has.

Finally Boomstick has at least one child. Only a daughter has ever been confirmed to exist, but it's implied he may have more.

Which leads to one of Boomstick’s defining characteristics.  Due to all his stress and his fractured family life, he copes by drinking beer…. a lot. He’s married a lamp while drunk, gotten tattoos while on drunken benders, and sees the world as beer. It’s even implied he’s drunk so much beer that it genetically bonded itself to his molecular structure.

  • DB ep 50 2:46 Boomstick got drunk and married a lamp.

  • DB ep 71 7:01 Boomstick has a tattoo of a beer bottle and shotguns on his ass from a  drunken bender.

  • DB ep 187 3:27 Boomstick sees the world as beer.

  • Db ep 68 1:31 Boomstick forgot to wear pants when he first met Wiz.

  • DB ep 85 1:42 It’s stated Wiz and Boomstick have known each other since middle school.

Apparently Boomstick himself cut his own leg off.

  • Blake's preview 3:09 Boomstick reveals that he himself was the one who cut his leg off.

His extended family is also surprisingly fleshed out. He has an evil twin, descended from the Uchiha clan, his mom is a Shinigami from Bleach, his uncle is Yog Sothoth and many people in his family share the name “Boomstick” with him. He also owns a turtle named Mr. Snappy and a dog named Jack Spaniels.

Abilities

Wiz supposedly has regen similar to Alucard from Hellsing. Essentially he can regenerate from almost any damage via the energy of one of millions of souls he’s absorbed.

  • DB ep 151 10:47 It’s stated Wiz has consumed millions of souls, so he can regenerate when fatally injured, which he uses to regenerate from being transmuted into beer.

Lack of a “Personal Soul”

Conversely Wiz also states that he does not have “his own” soul. As he sold it to use as a down payment on his student loans.

Note: Whether Wiz has a soul or not is inconsistent. It’s likely various clones may or may not have a varied amount of souls in them.

  • Aquaman Preview 3:30 Boomstick uses 99 Bottles to turn Wiz into beer. It’s implied Boomstick can undo it.

Stands move according to the will and desires of the user, but can act autonomously in order to preserve the life of the user (and themselves). Such as when Star Platinum autonomously caught a bullet to keep it from hitting Jotaro.

https://mangasee123.com/read-online/Jojos-Bizarre-Adventure-Color-chapter-13-page-10.html

  • Stands are spiritual/mental, and therefore cannot normally be affected by anything other than other Stands or abilities that can affect things astrally.

  • Stands and their user typically share the same damage. If one is harmed, so is the other.

Not only does it protect from physical and energy damage, it resists more esoteric attacks like matter manipulation and even telepathy. You can also project his force field outward to surround and protect others, or to do so offensively, usually covering an opponent, then shrinking the force field until it crushes them.

Goku Black’s Time Ring: The Time Ring used by Goku Black in Goku Black vs Reverse Flash. Time Rings are a time traveling device that let you travel forward in time and then back to the present where you started. You can also use it to travel to any adjacent alternate timelines. Time rings can also react in the presence of space/time distortions caused by others, such as Trunks’ time machine. In these cases, the ring can open a rift in space to allow the user to follow said people to whatever location in time they’re traveling to. Finally, wearing a Time Ring does protect you from time paradoxes.

  • DB ep 149 5:25 Wiz has the Time Ring from Dragon Ball.

Boomstick

Weaknesses

Wiz

Wiz lacks physical stamina and direct combat experience, preferring to make his inventions do all the fighting for him. He can easily be knocked out with a powerful physical strike and his cybernetics are vulnerable to hacking.

Boomstick

Boomstick is impulsive and lacking in book smarts.

Before the Verdicts

This blog was put together fairly last minute, so we’re going to be using the old system for “verdicts”. Each person will write out a singular verdict from their own point of view rather than a collective “team” verdict. Excuse some slight repetition or holes in verdicts given that.

Summary

Wiz

We’ve run the data through all the possibilities!

Advantages:

  • More powerful technology and mechs

  • Greater intelligence

  • Clones, intangibility and regenerations make him harder to kill

  • Replicated large variety of character weapons on his own

  • Time ring counters the De-Mat gun

  • Better AOE with high end inventions

  • Can counter 99 bottles with regeneration

  • Is still fast and strong enough to knock out Boomstick on occasion

Disadvantages:

  • Physically weaker and slower

  • Lacks direct combat experience

  • Mentally unstable

  • Reality warping tech is unstable

  • Teleportation and time travel is irrelevant since Boomstick can do that too

Boomsick

It’s time for a DEEEEATH BAATTTLLLE!

Advantages:

  • Better martial arts skills and combat training

  • Stronger and faster

  • Always has access to Mjolnir

  • Has access to Popeye’s spinach

  • Generally has more experience using weapons taken from other characters

  • Sharignan, bending, and other combat powers give advantage at close range

  • Survived the God Bomb, potentially meaning he could survive Hakai

Disadvantages:

  • Stupider and more impulsive

  • Lack’s high scale mechs or technology

  • Doesn’t outcompete Wiz in physical stats by a large margin

  • Teleportation and time travel is irrelevant since Wiz can do that too

Verdicts

RJ (Roger)

Both dudes have like this insane arsenal, both got the speed force, both got other dumb bullshit across the show but like… only one of them has like multiples of himself that he just comes back. I vote for Wiz.

Yuix

A wizard and a redneck walk into a bar. The bartender says “get the fuck out.” So this is ‘short’. However I believe when it comes down to it. Wiz will make this stick go boom.

Now to compare both of their stats. It’s very safe to assume they are on par physically with Wiz’s cyber enhancements and Boomstick with his redneck-ness. Both constantly bouncing off one another, beating the shit and being the punching bag to each other's gags. Only showcase of Wiz being physically weaker was having his ass kicked by Ringmaster in DBX. Which would potentially scale to his durability to being somewhere below Ringmaster, doesn’t sound too great for Wizard. Yes he would probably lose a hand to hand fight with Boomstick with his body not being able to take as much weight as the likes of the brawn Boomstick. Which may begin to hinder more on why Boomstick should win, however we get contradictions quite a lot of the time between ‘who can take on who’ with the Death Battle cutaways and ‘story’. So to summarize. Boomstick should take the physical strength and durability advantage, whilst both are equal in speed, Wiz would take strength with his tech

Then the weapons, armours and… we’ll get to that part next. Now while Boomstick HAS items to buff and AP his speed and strength to solidify his win. It’s safe to say Wiz would also have these, as he was the one to create them, and can take them away for himself with his superior tech or exploit their weaknesses with his greater forms of intelligence.

Wiz’s tech was stated to yoink a blackhole to him during Magneto’s Preview. Which would have reached 80,000x FTL Which is shown to be faster than anything Boomstick, even with the Speed Force Soda, could even react to. And the power of this tech too to actually pull a black hole would be strong and fast enough to overpower and outspeed Boomsticks grasp on whatever he desires. That spinach can regenerate, gain higher intellect or grow immensely more powerful than Wiz? It’ll be taken away. Same for every other form of amp or weapon Boomstick may have, including his leg.

When you look back to all of Boomsticks key wincons. Transmuting Wiz via 99 Bottles, using Ghostly Wail, physically destroying Wiz’s body. Wiz always has had a solution. With the Spinach Can buff too. Wiz, if given Booster Gold’s shield, would be capable of withstanding any physical damage from Boomstick. Even capable of taking out one of Boomsticks main holding advantages.

Now with that said, Tertiary Factors or should I say ‘skills’ helps out beer chugging badass. Being far more tricky and unpredictable to the point Wiz doesn’t know how to react. Yet Wiz is far more intelligent and scheming. Boomstick’s very gung-ho, even with his PhD in Poultry, he’s very “hit first questions later”. Which Wiz can very well work with, knowing a lot of Boomsticks arsenal already thanks to creating the majority of it. Wiz’s setup and game plan going into the Host Tussle would be too set in stone for Boomstick to try and outsmart or trick him again[Wiz ain’t falling for the box again].

While this battle was to die for. Literally. Boomstick is beer-ly holding onto his better strength, durability and unpredictability. Yet he drew the short boom-stick when having to fight the ‘zard. Wiz has greater forms of speed, strength with his tech, knowledge and control over most of Boomstick’s arsenal, and the science bullshit he has. Wiz can close the gaps where they matter most. This is a fight meant to end it all, and like any good magic spell. Wiz made Boomstick abrakada-boom… I can’t keep getting away with these horrid boom puns. I gotta take a wiz.

The winner is Wiz.

Also Death Battle and the community did in fact save my life, without the people constantly giving me a purpose to keep pushing on and getting up. I wouldn’t be around without it. Letting me push Nemesis vs Magician for 10 ongoing years was also a blast, and talking to some of the most talented, polite, welcoming, funniest and helpful people I’ve ever met. Thank you for everything. The Rooster Teeth era may end, but for me. Death Battle is never ending at heart

Crimgon

Wiz vs Boomstick, certainly a great mu that I never want to see happen! This mu has been built up throughout the show’s history, it’s the very reason the cutaway gags exist cause they definitely aren’t there to make us laugh. Not only is the mu a tribute to Death Battle, or power scaling as a whole, but to a whole community and the people who have worked on the show. I remember during my first year of middle school, I was all alone. The only thing that kept me going was this weird YouTube channel I found called “Death Battle”. I’m not sure why, but I fell in love with the channel instantly, it felt like nothing I’ve ever experienced before.

I remember the thrill of searching through the channel, finding new and old episodes I haven’t seen before, learning about new characters and franchises. The show has had a tremendous impact on not just me but so many people, inspiring them to create their own vs shows, giving me days worth of entertainment (Nemesis Bloodryche and Whoand’s Peter Port vs One Pun Man is the sole reason I didn’t become depressed in High School). So this mu is to me the most important mu of my life, between two figures who have left maybe the biggest impact on not just mine but the lives of so many others. Okay, I’ll end this little rant, I was trying to go for some tear jerking emotional intro but I can’t write for shit so let’s get to what’s really important: the debate.

Stats wise, this MU is surprisingly complicated. Boomstick, thanks to One for All, can hit up to 933.6 petatons of TNT. Wiz, on the other hand, doesn’t have many physical feats but he has several devices that can blow up planets. Basically, both characters can basically one shot each other.

Boomstick with Popeye’s spinach has a decent star level feat, but Wiz has Booster Gold’s Belt which has around small-star level durability. While this is still less than Boomstick’s star level feat (Boomstick is still 3.35X more durable), it still is able to close the gap enough so that Wiz isn't totally outclassed.

Speed wise, Boomstick’s top speed is around 31,044.982 sol while Wiz’s top speed is around 81,395.625 sol. Wiz appears to have the speed advantage here, being around 2.62X faster than Boomstick. However, Boomstick possesses Mjolnir which can move at around 8.46e+26 sol… that’s like really fast. So does this mean that Boomstick is faster than Wiz?

No.

While Mjolnir is faster than anything Wiz has done, Boomstick can’t scale to Mjolnir’s movements. Think of it like an average person with a gun: Do they scale to the bullet’s speed?

No.

If Boomstick is able to throw Mjolnir, Wiz won’t be able to react, but Wiz would be able to get to Boomstick before he could react. So in my opinion, Wiz should be able to take the speed advantage.

But there is one more matter to consider, the Mjolnir Mark 4 armor increases strength by 2x and reaction speed by 5x. This would make it so that Boomstick’s top speed is around 155,224.91 sol and Wiz’s top speed is around 406,978.125 sol. Wiz is still 2.62X faster than Boomstick but I thought this would be neat to calculate.

Also while Boomstick could use the Speed Force Soda to increase his speed, Wiz can do that as well (in fact, Wiz could give himself a more potent dose, potentially making him faster than Boomstick). So both could cancel each other out in terms of speed buffs.

So in conclusion, Boomstick takes strength and durability while Wiz takes speed, but the difference in durability and speed isn't too significant to really affect the verdict. Now arsenal on the other hand are where the true debate lies. While both Wiz and Boomstick possess a wide array of abilities and weapons, many don’t really affect the verdict too much (yes, Harley’s pop gun is definitely a vital part of the debate) but they do have some notable ones to mention.

Boomstick has Mjolnir which has the ability to absorb an opponent’s power to use it themselves or even remove it. This seems like something that could turn the tide in Boomstick’s favor, but what abilities does Wiz have? Well, he only has two initially: Alucard regeneration/soul consumption and lack of a personal soul. I don’t really see how Boomstick can absorb Wiz’s regeneration since it’s vastly different from the typical powers that Mjolnir has absorbed.

Wiz and Boomstick also possess a plethora of abilities and weapons that have some effect over time. Boomstick has Mjolnir, Clockwork (thanks to the Omnitrix) and just being able to time travel at will. Wiz has Mario’s stopwatch, Stop Materia, the Time Ring, a time travel machine and a time stopper. Now first of all, neither can kill each other via time travel as the Time Ring and the Omnitrix protect them from temporal paradoxes. However Boomstick is able to slow down time, something that could take care of the speed advantage Wiz has over him. Wiz also has multiple methods to freeze Boomstick in time, something he has no defense against. Both of these abilities can easily turn the tide of the fight so it comes down to who pulls it off first.

Wiz and Boomstick also are about even when it comes to their mobility for the most part. They both have teleportation devices and multiple vehicles. The only difference is that Wiz has a teleportation device that can swap people’s positions. While Boomstick could always just teleport out of whatever sticky situation Wiz teleports him to, Wiz being able to swap places at any time would make it more difficult for Boomstick to focus and could push things in his favor.

Boomstick also has the Omnitrix, and while the many different kinds of aliens it offers are useful (though Wiz can counter their abilities with powers of his own), the most important one to talk about is whether or not Boomstick can access Alien X. Well can he? No. While Boomstick has the potential to turn into Alien X, we never see whether or not he can. Having the Omnitrix doesn’t guarantee that you can turn into Alien X and it would be too generous to assume Boomstick can. Sure Ultraguy’s character analysis blog is assuming that Boomstick should have access to this form, but just cause he has access to the form doesn’t mean Boomstick can use it. Sorry, no Uni Boomstick.

One of the big advantages that Wiz has over Boomstick is his Alucard regeneration due to the millions of souls he has inside of him, however it seems that Boomstick may have a counter with the Dragon Born’s Black/Azura's Star Gem. The Gem is stated to be able to absorb the souls of enemies, even being able to absorb several souls at once. This sounds like a good counter to Wiz’s Alucard Regeneration, you just drain all of Wiz’s souls and then you just have to kill him once. However we do see that Wiz has some resistance to the gem? When Boomstick tried the gem on Wiz, it had no effect on him. So assuming that this item would work all of a sudden on Wiz is wonky.

Speaking of souls, Boomstick has the ability to pull a William Afton and possess someone’s body once his body is destroyed, so he should be able to possess Wiz if he loses right? No. Wiz’s body contains up to a million souls he has consumed, Boomstick possessing him would just be a drop in the bucket. Also nothing really is stopping Wiz from just absorbing Boomstick’s soul just like the other million souls he’s consumed. However there is one thing contradicting this: Bill Cipher vs Discord.

In this episode Wiz is possessed by Bill Cipher, who possesses people by sending his soul into people’s mindscape (DB claims that Bill can regenerate his soul, while showing a clip of him regenerating in the mindscape, showing they consider the part of Bill that goes into people his soul), this would imply that Wiz is susceptible to possession, however I disagree. Bill was only able to possess Wiz because Wiz made a deal with Bill prior to the episode, Bill wasn’t able to just outright possess Wiz beforehand. Wiz was once hacked by KITT, but KITT isn't a soul and he likely just hacked the cybernetic parts of Wiz’s mind. The only way Boomstick’s soul could control Wiz through hacking is maybe if Wiz sends him to cyberspace and then destroys his body? That’s just a weird series of events that’s not bound to happen reliably.

Doom’s Ovoid Mind Transfer is important to mention as it is the key to Wiz’s chances of winning (at least in my opinion). This device allows Wiz to swap bodies with Boomstick at any time, something that could be useful if he’s ever losing the fight. If Wiz is out of souls to regen from and thinks he’s going to lose, he can just switch bodies with Boomstick and finish off his enemy (who’s now in a weaker exhausted body). Boomstick won’t be able to control which body he is in and Wiz can continue switching bodies as many times as he wants. This device pretty much makes sure that for most of the fight, Wiz has the fight rigged in his favor. He can switch winning sides as much as possible.

While Mjolnir can protect Boomstick from most telepathy attacks, Doom’s Ovoid Mind Transfer has worked on the level of Red Skull Onslaught (who has a mental control and resistance level explicitly referenced as exceeding Professor X and Magneto which threatened everything) and his general magic works on a similar scale affecting the Penance Stare, so Thor’s mind control resistance might not be able to work (not to mention that the mind transfer might not even count as mind control). But assuming that Wiz kills Boomstick (in Wiz’s body) and Boomstick then tries to possess Wiz (in Boomstick’s body), would Wiz have any defense. Boomstick’s body has no defenses to possession so how can Wiz resist this? Well simple, he can take Boomstick’s soul with the Black/Azura’s Star Gem…

One of the most deadly weapons in Boomstick’s arsenal is a replica of the Doctor’s De-Mat Gun. This gun can erase anyone from their entire timeline, something that very few characters have a counter to. So does Wiz have anything to defend against this? Surprisingly, Wiz has no counters to reality erasure. The closest thing in his arsenal that can protect him is the Time Ring but we’ve seen beings like Zeno manage to kill beings with one by just… erasing him. Wiz also can’t rely on his clones to continue fighting as seen with Rick, the De-Mat just needs to hit one Wiz and they’re all dead. Wiz’s only chance against this weapon is destroying it before Boomstick fires, dodging the blast (We don’t know how fast it is), or swapping bodies before Boomstick fires and using it against him. Given that Wiz has more than a 2X speed advantage over Boomstick, he should be able to pull this off.

As for Wiz’s Destruction Ki, this sounds like a sure fire way to kill Boomstick right? Most of the time yes, but if Boomstick has access to Popeye’s spinach, then he can’t be erased from the universe. Popeye’s spinach can make the user immune to existence erasure to some degree so it should be able to counter Hakai. That being said, Wiz can still swap bodies with Boomstick while he’s in this form  and the De-Mat gun would still be able to work on Boomstick (if Wiz manages to use it against him).

Wiz’s clones also make it way harder for Boomstick to take out Wiz as a single Wiz has faster speed than Boomstick, plus having Alucard regeneration. While it is debatable whether or not the Wiz clones also have a million souls in them, it is still useful. Boomstick not only has to kill several clones of Wiz, but he also has to kill some of them up to a million times, all while Wiz just needs to kill Boomstick once.

There are also some things I want to mention that aren’t really worth a whole paragraph:

While Wiz’s symbiote does give him spidey sense, Boomstick has multiple ways to take advantage of the symbiote's weakness to fire and high frequencies so it won’t matter too much.

While Wiz has the ability to become intangible, Boomstick’s Dragonslayer Sword can hurt intangible enemies. Both characters do have the ability to turn invisible (Boomstick with the ring and Wiz with the “Stealth Black” Raid Suit), but Boomstick should still be able to see Wiz thanks to the One Ring.

Wiz has numerous additions to his arsenal that Boomstick never sees, this is a bigger advantage than you think since this would mean that while Wiz knows what to expect from Boomstick, Boomstick can still be caught off guard by Wiz’s arsenal.

Both Wiz and Boomstick can turn each other into objects (Beer and Gold) but it doesn’t seem to kill them so it’s okay?

And while Wiz may be “smarter” than Boomstick, we’ve seen Boomstick outsmart him before. Most notable during the Raiden vs Excalibur battle where he outsmarts Wiz in a combat scenario

However, the deciding factor of this debate is who will pull out their wincon first, and Wiz most likely will. During the cutaway gags, it’s usually one host testing out a weapon while Wiz explains what it does. Out of the two, Wiz is more knowledgeable on the capabilities of the weapons and would be aware of which weapons to specifically look out for while Boomstick would probably go with what is flashier in his eyes. It’s because of that, that I actually think Wiz would win this.

Both characters have surefire ways to kill their opponents so it really comes down to who pulls off their wincon first. Both characters counter each other’s arsenal extremely well, but both have an item/ability that the other can’t counter. The main ability that Wiz has that Boomstick can’t counter is the mind transfer, something that Boomstick has no counter for. The only piece of Boomstick’s arsenal that Wiz has no counter to is the De-Mat gun, but Wiz can counter that by swapping bodies before Boomstick can fire the weapon.

Wiz’s best gear is also something he always has access to: he always has clones, he always can regenerate, the booster gold belt is already on him, etc. Boomstick, however, has to gain access to his best gear first in order to use them, he has to summon Mjolnir, he has to pull out and aim the De-Mat Gun, he has to pull out and eat the Spinach, etc.

Once again, this mu depends on who can pull out their wincon first and Wiz just happens to always have his wincon from the moment the fight started. Well this is without a doubt one of the closest mu’s I’ve ever seen, while Boomstick does have some advantages, I believe, after analyzing their weapons, armors and skills, that the winner is Wiz, ending this debate once and for all.

Okay in all honesty, we all know Jocelyne will appear at the end of the fight and beat both of them easily.

Given the assumption of the ability for both Wiz and Boomstick to wield all their items simultaneously, just as it is assumed with other Death Battle combatants (without them simply being limited by the amount of items they can carry on them at a given time) it seems that Boomstick would pretty obviously win.

Although the main limiting factor for Boomstick here is his lack of intelligence relative to Wiz (although Boomstick isn’t dumb, it’s pretty clear that Wiz falls under the category of ‘sci-fi mad scientist’, with that category being clear-cut above the MacGyver level smarts that Boomstick seems to have), the thing that is consistently ignored is the fact that being worthy of Mjolnir gives the full attribute-set of Thor rather than simply his strength or lightning powers. Thor specifically is a supergenius, whose scientific capacity allowed him to create an android (as Blake) with an IQ of ‘375’, with such intelligence allowing it to solve the world’s most complicated mathematical problem. Mjolnir would also allow for Boomstick to mitigate Booster Gold’s shield, given its ability to negate even Juggernaut’s magical force field, which seems to have similar strength levels to Booster’s shield at a minimum.

The second strength of Boomstick here is the Omnitrix. The failsafe, when combined with all of Boomstick’s other items, could conceivably allow for Boomstick to be potentially safeguarded against anything Wiz could dream up in a passive manner, as in, Boomstick doesn’t even need to think of the strategies himself, the Omnitrix’s super-computer could do the deed for him; whether or not the Omnitrix chooses to turn Boomstick into clockwork with Speed Force formula while wielding mjolnir is to be seen in an actual fight however, but the only real way to mitigate this on Wiz’a side would be through something like time stop, which the Omnitrix reasonably resists (due to the fact that the failsafe operated in the void before time, as time did not exist.)

Ironically, the Ovoid Mind Transfer, one of Wiz’s other powers that could clutch a victory, doesn’t really matter. Boomstick is worthy due to his soul rather than anything else, and giving Boomstick Wiz’ body would allow for Boomstick-in-Wiz to simply recall Mjolnir to him as Wiz would be unable to wield it and then win that way, also getting all of Wiz’ items, not to mention that Mjolnir’s own psychic defenses could stop Wiz’s attempts to transfer minds to begin with.

Although Wiz tried wistfully, the winner just blows him out of the water.

The winner is Boomstick.

I think it just comes down to Boomstick just winning a war of attrition over anything since they both have various of the same or similarly working counters to each other's kits.

TheBlackSwordsman 19

I think that Boomstick takes it, between him having the Omnitrix and the Speed Force, and 99 Bottles.

Given that both Wiz and Boomstick have smacked each other around a bunch I don’t think stats play much of a factor here, well, their regular stats anyway. So ultimately this comes down to their equipment and abilities, and personally I think Wiz’s are superior.

Thanks to his Alucard-esque healing factor, phasing tech and Booster’s shield belt, Wiz is damn near impossible to kill, and even if Boomstick were to somehow land a killing blow, Wiz can just keep going as a souless ghost, which Boomstick has no way deal with. And that’s assuming he even hits the correct Wiz in the first place thanks to his many, many clones he has, so many that Wiz doesn’t even know which one is the real him. Even the De-mat gun is a questionable wincon on Boomstick’s end thanks to Wiz’s time ring, which could potentially allow him to resist its effects.

On the flip side, Wiz can kill Boomstick permanently thanks to his vials of destruction energy. Wiz’s pocket hakai would kill Boomstick’s soul along with his body, thus preventing him from reincarnating like he did in Korra vs Storm. The Omnitrix wouldn’t save Boomstick as none of the accessible aliens have ever shown the ability to resist erasure on the level of hakai. And Wiz can guarantee it hitting Boomstick thanks to being able to stop Boomstick entirely with either time stop materia or the stopwatch. And the most we’ve ever seen the speed force soda grant someone is the speed to go to Jupiter and back in three seconds, we can’t just assume it’d give Boomstick all the abilities of top tier Flashes with equivalent mastery.

And even if it did, Boomstick would have to drink one first as it seems the effects wear off, so Wiz could just freeze time before he does and even drink one himself while he’s frozen. Now you could make the argument that Boomstick could survive hakai thanks to him surviving Wiz’s atomic god bomb replica with only third degree burns, but it’s comparableness to the actual god bomb is questionable given that it was going to erase all gods from time and space while all Wiz’s did was erase his college campus and his student loans which Boomstick jokingly says was unintentional, seemingly believing that what Wiz did was make an Atomic student campus and loans bomb designed to erase his campus and student loans as opposed to erasing gods, so Boomstick surviving it probably wouldn’t even count as resisting existence erasure as it wasn’t even designed to erase people, so hakai could still work on him.

So that leaves Wiz with a yes and Boomstick with a maybe in terms of permanently putting down the other. And between the two of them, I feel Wiz is more likely to get his wincon off first. While Boomstick isn’t an idiot, he is far more likely to just go in Mjölnir swinging and unga bungering his way to get a win at first. Wiz, meanwhile, is far more likely to think things through and formulate a plan in order to get off his potential wincon given his evil scientist nature.

Overall, I think Wiz has what it takes to pull out a win more times than not, mainly thanks to his time stop leaving Boomstick wide open to a pocket hakai. Or being transmuted into gold via the gold flower, that would also work.

ChainsawMako

I think Wiz should win. A lot of boomstick's gear comes from Wiz, so Wiz should be able to do most of what he does, with his naturally superior intelligence giving him the edge in the fight.

Ultimately, both Wiz and Boomstick can scale generally to the same levels of AP, Speed, and Dura. They have numerous scalings with weapons such as Mjolnir, can drink soda to give themselves speed force power, and more. They also have a vast arsenal that could defeat the other in one go, such as Boomstick turning Wiz into a beer with his stand, or shoot him with the De Mat gun. Which would also bypass Wiz’s own Alucard-esque regeneration. Wiz for his part could use his mind transfer, or hit Boomstick with his own destruction Ki. As such, this ultimately would come down to who could find their opening first.

In a battle of “who can find their opening first”, Boomstick has shown a consistent tendency towards being able to catch Wiz off guard to the latter's detriment. And while it may seem surprising, I believe Boomstick would be the first person to consistently manage this. While it is true Wiz is smarter by a massive margin, his intellect has always been in a “mad science” variety. He obsesses and gets distracted on tangents, and has bouts of “revenge madness” making him weirdly enough, more unhinged than Boomstick. Boomstick for his own efforts, while not as smart, has consistently showcased a knack for physically catching Wiz off guard at multiple points, such as when he got Wiz going off on a tangent in Shazam vs Marvel and punched him out in a single blow. Or the time he punched Wiz’s soul out of his body.

On the surface level, I feel like lots of people are gonna side Boomstick because of his wacky abilities and feats shown off in the cutaway gags (one of which where he outright kills a Wiz by Maki a farting noise), but I think it's a bit too easy to forget Wiz is usually the one handling or presenting the arsenal. He's regularly experimented on Boomstick and knows how to manipulate him fairly easily. Although, if we want to go down that route, Boomstick knows how to shatter Wiz's spirit and has outsmarted him several times, both in calcing and in battle smarts, as shown in Excalibur VS Raiden.

The big question in that regard is how consistent is that? It clearly can't be too much, at least not intentionally. Not to mention Wiz's inventions like DUMMI, Mecha Goose Howard, and his clones would definitely provide a numbers advantage. And while we know Boomstick can turn Wiz into beer, we also know Wiz has survived that. Honestly, nothing beyond making an annoying noise has shown to be too effective, and again, that was on a clone. There's no evidence to suggest that would work on Wiz outright.

Meanwhile, Wiz has shown to be able to seriously hurt Boomstick with little effort with the likes of Aquaman's trident and his robotic arm. Boomstick has the battle smarts (in bursts) and versatility, but Wiz is consistently stronger, has more quantity via his clones and DUMMIs, and knows Boomstick way more than the inverse. It's close, but I'm going with Wiz.

"This matchup may seem very complicated, like it could go either way, but in truth, there's only one way this matchup can end, and ironically, it's one of the very limited tools in one's arsenal that causes an unexpected twist in the victory.

As seen in Cole vs. Alex, Wiz has the Blacklight Virus - which as we all know, is Alex Mercer. THEREFORE, if Wiz uses it against Boomstick - an inevitably due to ...uh, it is, bare with me here this is totally legit for reals how it'd go, Alex will INFECT them both. You might be saying, but how would Alex get through the shield?

He'd adapt. Totally. He can adapt to anything. This is totally logical and not at all flawed.

Therefore Alex with his totally legit adaptation powers solos both gg ez.

The winner is Alex Mercer. (And he totally should've beaten Cole too. Ignore the statstomp and Cole basically hard countering him in every way, nah, he'd win. He's the GOAT. He solos.)"

Heya, this’ll be my first time writing a verdict like this so hope it’s decent lmao. Death Battle changed my life, going to be straight up. I started watching around the start of Season 4, and I fell in love with the show immediately and it stuck with me for several years. I hadn’t really interacted with the show’s community for a while until I joined the DBJ and later the DBD, and holy crap it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It got me to finally discuss the show in depth with others and I’ve met many people I would genuinely consider friends and it got me to learn so much about myself I wouldn’t have otherwise. Hell, it gave me the push to check out many series I now adore such as Danganronpa, Infamous and Jujutsu Kaisen. While the future of the show is uncertain, it’ll be one of my favourite series for years to come and I can’t thank everyone who put in their hard work over the years enough. You people are amazing and you should be proud of what you’ve done and I hope whatever path you take ends up great.

Sappy stuff aside, let’s get to what this blog is for: Wiz vs Boomstick! If you asked most people a couple years ago, it seemed to be a pretty clear cut verdict in Wiz’s favor (hell he even swept the old prediction blog), but let’s see how things stack up today with their updated weapons, armour and skills.

To get some of the easy stuff out of the way, without factoring in certain abilities (we’ll get to those) they typically should be around the same stat wise, likely favouring Boomstick a bit physically but not by much. Both hosts have injured and knocked one another out, so really most feats one gets the other should scale to comfortably (also this matchup ending in a stat stomp is lame and you can’t stop me!!!). For tertiaries, Boomstick solidly should take skill, as while both hosts have lots of knowledge about fights, Wiz really isn’t that trained in battle as opposed to Boomstick’s experience with firearms and even combat training with his mother, albeit the quality of said training is definitely up to debate. However on the flipside, Wiz should easily take intelligence and experience and it's not even close. He’s experimented with countless inventions across the years and is outright admitted to have researched more for the show than Boomstick has. Boomstick has his moments for sure, but they don’t even leave a dent in Wiz’s accomplishments (if you want to call stuff like selling reality warping tech in the black market that) here.

With that out of the way, let’s talk about the biggest mindfuck of this debate: Their abilities and arsenal because dear GOD. To say that both have a lot to talk about is the understatement of the century, and while I want to talk about their full capabilities it probably would be best just to stick to the most important parts of their kits. Enter:

Thank you Ninja, Door and Rina for helping me out with this because I probably would’ve lost my mind otherwise lol

Let’s begin with what cancels out first because there’s a lot. Both have and/or resist nearly every form of space and time manipulation, dimensional travel, mind manipulation, teleportation, phasing, freezing, transmutation, invisibility, drugging, age manipulation, and so on that I won’t bring up the respective abilities and weapons to save some time here. I’ll instead focus on both’s more unique stuff to see how the other fares.

Let’s start off with Wiz first. To get the elephant in the room out of the way first, Wiz’s regen is ridiculous man. Having 3 million souls stored inside of him already makes him insanely difficult to put down and basically any of Boomstick’s standard weapons irrelevant. Boomstick does have ways to absorb souls such as Dragon Shout and the Azure Star Gem, but given we know Wiz sold his soul it means that it would probably just delete one soul from Wiz’s reserves which doesn’t amount to much. This also lets Wiz counter many of Boomstick’s durability negation options, such as 99 Bottles and likely the Techno Organic Virus since it’s presented as basically an undo button.

This becomes an even bigger problem as it’s not just Wiz Boomstick has to worry about; it’s his whole legion of clones. While we don’t have a visual for how many, Wiz has mentioned he’s got a whole army of clones which would definitely give trouble for Boomstick as he’ll be overwhelmed fast if he’s not on his game. This isn’t even getting into the clones possibly having their own souls which would make things even more difficult (though they’d still be trouble even if they had a single soul). Boomstick can make duplicates of himself via Echo Echo, but not only does Boomstick have nowhere near the same mastery over the Omnitrix Ben’s got, it would also take time he can’t reliably obtain to make enough for it to matter.

And if that wasn’t enough, Booster Gold’s belt makes Wiz even more difficult to kill thanks to both blocking and redirecting nearly anything that’s thrown his way. If the thing is so powerful to where even Superman said it should be enough to protect from his hits, Boomstick isn’t getting by that thing by conventional means. Combine that with the fact that Destruction Ki should be far more potent than Boomstick’s other showings of resisting Existence Erasure (erasing those affected spiritually and even across timelines) would net Wiz an instant win if one of his clones lands it. Combine this with his many other offensive weaponry across the years and Wiz presents a real challenge for his co-host.

That being said, let’s not undersell Boomstick here at all here. Starting off, Boomstick’s got ways around many of Wiz’s own haxes. Shapeshifting counters Wiz’s transmutation options like the Inside Out gun and the Gold Flower, and him having access to Rick’s portal gun should theoretically let him counter any timeline shenanigans Wiz tries to pull on him (though this isn’t a perfect counter given Wiz could destroy it while the shield prevents Boomstick destroying the time ring).

Boomstick’s also got a massive versatility edge with the Magic Pencil, being able to draw almost anything he wants against Wiz that would force him to come up with a countermeasure. But his most insane weapon would have to be the hammer from the guy he can’t stop making faster: Thor. The hammer provides many frankly insane abilities, the most potent being Cosmic Awareness giving Boomstick a massive advantage in knowing the state of the fight, Energy absorption hard countering nearly all of Wiz’s tech, and perhaps most impressively power absorption that’s even worked on the likes of Galactus!

Energy and Power absorption should absolutely work on Wiz’s shield and especially lives, as he’s not shown to resist attacks on that level of potency. That being said, it’s important to recognize that Boomstick hasn’t demonstrated much mastery of Mjolnir, so it’s highly questionable how capable he is of pulling something like this off in a fight. What he absolutely is capable of pulling off however, would have to be the most broken gun in fiction; The De-mat. Look no further than what it did to Rick Sanchez for how threatening it is to Wiz here. While it would only hit one Wiz, given his clones are, well, clones, I think it’s reasonable to assume it’d be a complete wipe if it were to connect a single time.

Given Boomstick’s love for guns, this would absolutely be something he’d go for at some point in the fight, especially with the clone army he has to deal with. The best Wiz has is having his shield get hit instead, but that would just get erased instead and there’s no reason to assume something on the De-mat’s level would get redirected. Oh and not sure where to write this but the Sharingan lets him copy movements, not too notable here but still worth mentioning. Overall Boomstick’s going to be on the backfoot, but has some insanely good options that are capable of ending the fight if he’s got the shot.

The guy can also scream hard enough that it deadass hard counters the symbiote so that’s funny.

Now, if you checked the analysis blogs, there’s two powerful haxes that I haven’t talked about; The Speed Force Soda and (for Boomstick) Alien X. Why you may ask? Well, both are kinda fraudulent tbh.

Starting with Alien X… there’s no way Boomstick’s getting the personalities agreeing on anything lmao. Even discussing with them can take a billion years worst case scenario, and even if he could somehow convince them he would be at the mercy of being effectively AFK in the real world against Wiz’s onslaught the entire time. There’s just no way the guy’s able to use something that quickly (shield >>>>>>>> anyhow ngl).

As for the Speed Force Soda, if one could stop the other drinking it it’d be huge… if it was instant. See, in Wally vs Archie (the episode it got introduced in), it took Boomstick from Wally’s analysis to the very end of the episode for the Speed Force Soda to take effect. Assuming the length in the episode was the same as the Death Battle Universe, it’d take just over 16 minutes for the Soda to take effect, which is incredibly unrealistic. Best case scenario Wiz hides a clone long enough to take the win afterwards, but that still requires him to get incredibly lucky.

So, what we’re left with is Wiz being a near impenetrable barrier against Boomstick having a few abilities that would give him a hard time, so who wins? Well, if you held a gun to my head, I would have to favor Wiz ever so slightly. The De-mat gun and Mjolnir are insane threats, but here’s the thing; Wiz is absolutely aware of that. Wiz is far more knowledgeable on the show in general, having done more research for it and would recognize what Boomstick is trying the instant he pulls the De-Mat out.

While a single shot would eliminate Wiz, he would have ways of preventing the hit from connecting by just having his clones flee with one of their many gadgets for escape like teleportation or catching Boomstick off guard and disarming him. This also relies on Boomstick going for the De-mat gun immediately instead of one of his other many insane weapons, while Wiz would be ready for when he does. Not to mention that Wiz’s Destruction Ki is also a guaranteed win, and while it’s more difficult to hit Wiz still has ways to get up close with his clones.

And as mentioned earlier, Mjolnir does provide ways of bypassing Wiz’s shield and regen, but they’re still theoretical due to Boomstick’s lacking experience with the weapon making it unlikely he even knows how to do that. This is an incredibly high difficulty fight either way though (we’re talking 55-45), I could see either taking it and I’m super excited to see how the final Death Battle Cast turns out. Big thanks to Ultraguy for letting me post a verdict for this, and thanks for reading my rambling lmao.

King of Five

I wrote a verdict for this fight before for the old 2021 version of this blog, so this will be largely copy pasted cause I don’t think too much has changed. Despite everything, I think this show had a pretty good tenure, and no matter what I hope things work out well for everybody affected by the situation.

Their toughness is a bit difficult to measure given the nature of the show, but Boomstick is probably generally more impressive. Both have been in several of the Screwattack Royal Rumbles (22:50 and 24:40) and, uh, do general wrestling things you’d expect, so arguably both bring some physical combat experience and pain tolerance to the table, but beyond that, Boomstick has feats like punching down trees, fighting sharks, taking anvils to the face, ripping off Wiz’s (human) arm, etc etc.

That being said, Wiz still wears armor tough enough to tank a punch from Boomstick and hurt him. That or his crotch is simply so durable it’s as hard as iron, which is a joke I’m sure somebody finds funny. Likewise, both have just, knocked each other out with simple slaps and punches. Neither has any notable “real” speed feats either beyond Boomstick ‘technically’ drinking a beer can FTE to Wiz in episode 100 and some meme beer drinking feats in general, but they’ve also hit each other just fine without Boomstick just dodging, so I doubt you can take that to mean much. In general, their brief scuffles and royal rumble showings would indicate that their physical stats are comparable even taking some of the higher possible speed feats. They’re probably physically relative to each other no matter what way you look at it.

With all that said, that means this would largely come down to equipment and abilities, and Wiz just has an advantage in that field. Stuff like the Speedforce soda for Boomstick would allow him to blitz if he manages to drink it, but Wiz is the one who invented that soda and gave it to him in the first place. He could easily just knock it out of his hand with his variety of ranged weapons, like the Fire Rod, Cyber-Goose, or Widow’s Kiss. Boomstick is a quick drinker,  but he would need to figure out he has to use it quickly, and Wiz has options to prevent him from moving altogether.

Boomstick isn’t lacking in this regard given his access to Dust and the Trident of Poseidon, and both share generally powerful guns from RvB and their own Mega Busters, but it basically makes anything like a soda you have to drink a really unreliable way to win. Boomstick could hypothetically like, go invisible, set up a bubble shield, and then drink the soda, but I highly doubt he would figure that out, and even then, Wiz has several methods of stopping time that Boomstick lacks. There is nothing stopping him from just turning Boomstick into gold coins whenever he wants, while Boomstick’s own transmutation with his Stand has been shown to be ineffective against Wiz’s millions of souls.

Speaking of, that, combined with Wiz’s several clones, means Boomstick is gonna have a real tough time killing Wiz. Consider that Wiz has access to stuff like Booster Gold’s forcefield, which even with just the numbers given in the episode has durability of over 14 quettatons of TNT. It’s probably out of the modern DB spirit to take this long to get to the numbers as opposed to focusing on abilities but I digress. That’s more than durable enough to withstand anything in Boomstick’s arsenal in terms of raw power, and its ability to redirect matter should block even some of his weirder options like knock out gas. Boomstick could hypothetically portal through the forcefield with the Odachi, but that weapon is unreliable, and Boomstick even straight up failed to use it in the episode the one time he was shown having access to it. Combine all that with the aforementioned millions of souls and clones, Boomstick would struggle killing Wiz even once, if it’s not just a clone, and then has to do that again 3 million times.

Since I wrote this verdict originally, Boomstick has gotten some new equipment, most notably Mjolnir and Popeye’s spinach can, but I don’t think these would actually change anything. Boomstick notably did not actually use either of these for anything and it’s entirely unclear if he even knows how to in the case of Mjolnir. Boomstick has such a wide arsenal of equipment that it’s unlikely he would think to actually use these in-time when he’s never applied them for anything and he has known favorite equipment to use instead. Especially given how many powers both characters have, I don’t realistically see the fight progressing long enough for Boomstick to think to whip out either and actually use them.

Wiz has also gotten some notable new equipment as well. If he lands something like the scorpion poison, the fight is basically over no matter any of Boomstick’s more potent abilities, because he would be left in so much pain he wouldn’t be able to operate anymore and allowing Wiz to get an easy kill. Boomstick also now has Soul Tear, which is theoretically a perfect counter to Wiz’s regeneration, but not only is it not stated in the episode itself that Soul Tear can affect and steal multiple souls, meaning Boomstick’s equivalent probably wouldn’t be able to attack millions of souls at once, it outright failed on Wiz when he actually used it. It would contradict Wiz having so many souls, but it would also be a big hole in the idea that it would do much to Wiz either way. Stuff like time travel and teleportation is vague, and shared between both anyways.

The biggest new boon Boomstick has received is probably the De-Mat, which should be a valid win condition. That kind of existence erasure should be completely capable of wiping out Wiz no matter what. Ultimately though, while it seems like a game changer on paper, if you actually think about it, it’s just one weapon Boomstick has which would work vs Wiz having tons of weapons capable of instantly killing Boomstick without any additional qualifiers. Both Wiz and Boomstick are familiar with how the De-Mat works, and Wiz is a genius who’s able to identify tech like that when he sees it. Boomstick getting into position and landing a lucky shot with the de-mat is a good possible win condition, but it’s only one against Wiz having many more weapons in his arsenal which can win the fight as opposed to Boomstick having not nearly as many options to counter regen as potent as Wiz’s, and that’s also discounting Wiz having various options to block or deflect the blast, like Booster’s forcefield.

Boomstick’s ace in the hole is probably the Omnitrix on paper, but in practice it’s not really that useful. Wiz’s arsenal like transmutation and his forcefields can still put em up to most aliens, and it’s also reliant on Boomstick knowing how to use the Omnitrix properly in the first place, when the one time he did use it he fucked his DNA up by spamming the transformations. Most transformations only really have one gimmick too, and either aren’t strong enough to get past Wiz’s defenses or don’t have the right abilities. Let’s say he does use it properly though and switches to an alien who could possibly deal with the forcefield, like, say, Feedback or Ghostfreak.

Wiz can just stop time and use his weapons to kill them, take your pick of destruction energy or tachyon table saw or such. Even Alien X, who by the episode’s analysis could probably erase Wiz and get past his forcefield in raw power, is basically useless. Unlike Ben, who eventually managed to negotiate with Serena and Bellicus, Boomstick is gonna have to convince the two personalities to fight this one specific guy they don’t know. Somehow, I doubt Boomstick is much of a negotiator. That essentially would just leave him as a sitting duck, sorta like how Alien X worked in Ben 10 itself,  and Wiz has shown the ability to alter people’s DNA and reverse transformations before.

Wiz could also probably just kill then and there with destruction energy or the gold flower or anything else, you get the picture. You could argue stuff like She-Ra’s Sword of Protection would give Boomstick the raw power he needs, but going by the episode’s numbers, 44 yottatons would be millions of times weaker than Wiz’s defenses, and the episode didn’t really focus on all the comic stuff anyways, so I wouldn’t be sure about pulling in outside info like that. Its healing is nice, but Wiz can just one shot him, so that’s not really that useful. Something similar applies to a lot of Boomstick’s other most powerful weaponry, like Wonder Woman’s sword. They might be strong enough, but that doesn’t make them reliable options.

Boomstick has a weird instance of his soul leaving his body upon death and possessing whatever’s nearby, which you could maybe use to argue he can just possess Wiz upon death, but we just don’t really know how that works. Wiz’s millions of souls and ability to exist as a spirit going by the Hiei episode would probably interfere with that, and if killing him is an issue, destruction energy is mentioned in Beerus’s episode to be capable of erasing souls, and so would provide a surefire way of permanently putting him down.

Even all of that isn’t mentioning Wiz’s other random esoteric stuff Boomstick can’t do anything about, like mind transfers, or his various death lasers in space. Wiz essentially has so much random bullshit he’s gotten over the years that Boomstick can’t reasonably get past all of it before being taken down himself. That sorta leads into a big point, that being that Wiz is just obviously much smarter than Boomstick. Boomstick has a few instances of being surprisingly smart for gags, but Wiz has been shown to do more research for the show and just generally be more knowledgeable on the combatants. He’s researched and designed a lot of the weaponry in Boomstick’s arsenal, and knows how all of it works and how to counter it, while Boomstick is shown to be less knowledgeable on what Wiz can do in a lot of scenes.

Wiz has also just tricked Boomstick into doing some really stupid shit before, again mostly for joke cutaways. Being real, you could probably argue that Wiz could just trick Boomstick into accidentally killing himself, given how often the latter misuses weaponry and harms himself anyways. They are long-time friends after all, they know a lot about each other, and Wiz has shown to be much better at manipulating Boomstick than vice-versa.

In essence, Boomstick really can’t ‘realistically’ put down Wiz for good in-time before Wiz just uses any of his many one-shot options to kill Boomstick, and Wiz’s intelligence means he can easily figure out Boomstick and his arsenal quicker than the latter could to Wiz. One could honestly hypothetically potentially say that it looks like Boomstick just couldn’t keep his red-neck in the woods, the winner is Wiz.

This is still a very silly topic to take seriously, but thanks a lot to Ultra for having me on. I’ll use this platform of power to say that, in the end, the show peaked at Yoshi vs Riptor. Best wishes!

First off, I would like to thank Ultraguy. He’s probably the most chillest, laid back person I know, so it’s awesome that I get to be a part of this blog. Second, I would like to thank Death Battle for everything they’ve done. The first Death Battle episode I ever watched was Batman VS Spider-Man, but I didn’t watch Death Battle on a regular basis until Batman VS Captain America. I didn’t know there was an activity community for this web show until I started listening to a podcast on YouTube. The host of that podcast is someone I’m still friends with to this day. It was thanks to that podcast that I joined the ScrewAttack forums and became an active member of the Death Battle community.

Since then, I have had a very eventful experience with the community. Despite going through a lot of ups and downs, I’ve made a lot of friends and made many treasured memories in that community. I even helped create a Death Battle Discord server that would eventually become official. Even though the future of Death Battle after Rooster Teeth is uncertain, I can’t imagine what my life would’ve been like if Death Battle hadn’t existed. I want to thank Ben, Chad, Luis, Sam, Torrian, the research team, the animators, and every other past and present member of the Death Battle team for leaving a big impact in my life.

Looking through the stats, abilities, and arsenals of Wiz and Boomstick had me go back and forth on who would win. Looking at individual stats, Wiz has the higher numbers in AP, Endurance, and Speed. In terms of scaling to their equipment though, Boomstick is faster than Wiz thanks to Mjonir. However, it’s also safe to agree that both of them scale to each other. After all, Wiz and Boomstick have knocked out and even killed each other multiple times. So with stats out of the way, we can move on to their abilities and arsenal. Wiz and Boomstick share some of the same arsenal thanks to Wiz inventing them and having Boomstick test them like a lab rat. However, they also have exclusive weapons. In addition, both of them have insane abilities that could give them the win. However, for this verdict, I’m going to be looking at their greatest equipment and abilities.

For one thing, Wiz has the numbers advantage thanks to his clones and DUMMI. While the exact number of clones and DUMMI units aren’t specified, he has mentioned that to have built a clone army with the same powers and memories. In the U.S. military, a field army has 100,000–200,000 soldiers. As for his DUMMI units, Wz has enough to keep backups in storage in case one gets destroyed during a character rundown. Considering Wiz’s clones have the same powers as the original, it means they also lack a soul and possess Alucard’s regeneration. While Wiz has consumed millions of souls, Boomstick can destroy them with the Soul Tear Dragon Shout and the Black/Azura Star Gem. Of course, it’ll be a lengthy process since it’s just Boomstick against an army of Wiz. However, there’s another method for Boomstick to reduce Wiz’s clone army to nothing. The De-Mat Gun. One shot from the De-Mat Gun can erase all of Wiz’s clones from existence. However, this leads to one question.

Can Wiz’s time ring protect him from the De-Mat Gun’s existence erasure? In Dragon Ball Super, Goku Black’s time ring protected him from the temporal effects created when Beerus erased Zamasu with Hakai. After all, Beerus was confident that Goku Black would’ve been erased from existence after killing present-day Zamasu with Hakai. In Doctor Who, anyone or anything hit by the De-Mat Gun will have their entire timeline, every particle they've ever interacted with, scanned, and the entirety of reality overwritten, effectively erasing them from temporal existence. Looking at both descriptions, I can confidently say that Wiz’s time ring can protect him from the effects of the De-Mat Gun. However, he’ll lose his clone army in the process, shortening the time it’ll take for Boomstick to destroy Wiz’s souls.

Now can Wiz protect himself from Boomstick attacking his souls? Well, Wiz does have Booster Gold’s belt. The belt’s forcefield has protected Booster from physical and energy attacks as well as matter manipulation and telepathy. It protected Booster on the subatomic level and protected him from Trigon and Superman. However, there’s nothing that says it can protect the user’s soul. While Wiz can try to use the forcefield to crush Boomstick, Boomstick has equipment that lets him go intangible. Now, Wiz could try to use his Stopwatch or Time Materia to stop time, but Boomstick can also stop time with Mjonir which can also dispel magic, making the time materia effectively useless. Wiz can try transmuting Boomstick into gold coins with the Gold Flower, but Boomstick can resist it with Popeye’s Spinach and has his own transmuting ability with 99 Bottles.

Speaking of 99 Bottles, it is Boomstick’s Stand, which can turn anything into a giant can of beer upon contact. While Wiz can regenerate from being turned into beer, doing so will cost him one of his souls. In addition, Wiz doesn’t have a Stand, so he wouldn’t be able to see or harm 99 Bottles. Let’s bring back Wiz’s army of clones and DUMMI units for a second. Initially, this large number would overwhelm Boomstick. However, 99 Bottles can turn those clones and units into beer. The reason I bring this up is because Boomstick can also beerbend. By turning Wiz’s clones and DUMMIs into cans of beer, Boomstick now has sources of beer that he can bend.

While Boomstick does have the De-Mat Gun, Wiz has his own equipment that can erase beings from existence. Those two are the Atomic God Bomb and Destruction Ki. The Atomic God Bomb was able to erase gods across time and space, and Wiz was able to create a version to erase his college campus and student loans from existence. Destruction Ki can erase things or people from existence physically and spiritually and can even affect multiple versions of a character across timelines with the exception of true immortals. However, Boomstick has a counter to both of these options: Popeye’s spinach. When Popeye’s universe got turned off, Popeye was entirely unaffected thanks to his spinach. Just like Popeye, Boomstick can summon a can of spinach at will.

Not only does Popeye’s spinach give Boomstick resistance to existence erasure, it grants regeneration, genius intellect, the ability to interact with non-corporeal beings, invisibility, and time manipulation. These abilities allow Boomstick to match some of Wiz’s prior advantages. Popeye was able to regenerate from nothing, which is arguably a better regeneration ability than Wiz’s since it doesn’t require the cost of a soul. With this type of regeneration, Boomstick will become extremely difficult to kill on top of him having resistance to existence erasure. While Wiz is normally the genius of the two, Popeye’s spinach allows Boomstick to even the playing field by giving him genius intellect. And while Wiz can continue on without a physical body as a spirit, Boomstick can still fight him thanks to Popeye’s spinach.

In addition to Popeye’s spinach, Boomstick has something else that helps him secure the win. Mjolnir. Not only does Mjolnir help Boomstick be faster than Wiz, but it also possesses an ability that’ll counter Wiz’s regeneration once and for all. It’s ability to absorb an opponent’s powers to use or remove said powers completely. With this ability, Boomstick can take Wiz’s regeneration and ability to consume souls for himself or nullify them completely. The fact that this ability worked on a well-fed Galactus and Loki’s immortality proves that it should work on Wiz as well. As for Wiz’s time ring, Boomstick can forcibly remove it by turning it into a can of beer with 99 Bottles or by possessing Wiz as Upgrade or Ghostfreak using the Omnitrix. Boomstick can reincarnate and have his soul possess Wiz’s body, but that could result in a situation similar to when Alucard absorbed Schrodinger’s soul.

It’s possible that the Blacklight Virus can serve as a wincon for Wiz since it can change the cells of other living things and alter their bodies down on the molecular level in seconds. However, Boomstick can possibly resist it with his spinach, especially since it gives him the ability to shapeshift his body to whatever he wants. Not only that, he also has the techno virus. Other than that, both Wiz and Boomstick have other similar abilities. They can transmute people and objects, possess various time hax abilities (time travel, time stop, time rewind), can travel to various dimensions and universes, etc. However, Boomstick can also do some of these shared abilities at will without the need of equipment.

Overall, after going back and forth on this debate in my mind, I have to give this match to Boomstick. While Wiz’s numbers advantage with his army of clones & DUMMI units, genius intelligence, existence erasure weaponry, and powerful regeneration, Boomstick has the abilities and weapons to resist, match, and even counter these advantages. This fight has been a long time coming, though it does feel weird to determine a winner after all this time. After all, the history Wiz and Boomstick had together and with us fans spans over a decade. Still, whatever the future may hold for Death Battle, I’m glad I can say that I had fun on this crazy ride. Now then, let’s end this debate once and for all. It’s time for a DEATH BATTLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

Rina Antiqua

Before we begin, I hope the best for the cast and crew at Death Battle throughout this whole situation. DB is the big reason why I’m into crossovers in the first place, it’s something I enjoy watching with my father and has let us bond a lot, and it’s led me to interact with who I’d consider some of the greatest friends I’ve met, many of which have a verdict here. This show has impacted me a lot, and whether it ends or not, I’ll always have a soft spot for it.

So, Wiz VS Boomstick. I was on the old blog for this one a few years back, but both have gotten more weapons and abilities, so an updated verdict seems fair. Both of them have feats of knocking the other out in a single hit, so it’s fair enough to just say both are around the same in physicality, meaning I’ll just skip all of that stuff. I’ll try to keep this brief

Boomstick got some notable buffs since the last time this matchup was covered. Weapons like Rick’s portal gun gives him extra mobility and battlefield control, Sharingan grants him Genjutsu mind hax and cellular perception/minor precognition, the magic pencil can draw a bunch of weapons or even a doodle Wiz for extra man and firepower. His biggest advantage however, is the D-Mat Gun. If this makes contact with Wiz, it’ll erase him on every level, from across time and space to where he never even existed. That’s extremely potent existence erasure, and if it hits, Boomstick just wins outright. Mjolnir and the Omnitrix can definitely help also, but Boomstick’s lack of experience with the two makes it unlikely he can use either of Mjolnir’s more potent abilities or Alien X, especially given the split personalities for the latter he needs to get to agree.

All that said, Wiz still holds a lot of advantages in this fight, one of his biggest being his regeneration. 3 million souls is a lot of extra lives, and if it works similar to Alucard’s, he can regenerate from a puddle of blood instantly, and it can even counter transmutation from 99 Bottles or other hax Boomstick has like the Techno Organic Virus Wiz also has an army of clones likely with the same regenerative capabilities, making it extremely difficult to put him down for good. Destruction Ki is spiritual, temporal, and physical erasure, something Boomstick has no counter to. But really what saves him here is Booster Gold’s forcefield. Mjolnir could potentially counter that, but again, Boomstick’s lack of experience in using any of its abilities makes that unlikely. The shield can tank almost anything in Boomstick’s entire arsenal, and the energy redirection means that Wiz can feasibly just…redirect Boomstick’s attacks right back at him. Including the D-Mat Gun’s shots. And Boomstick has no real way to defend against that.

Stuff like telekinesis via Devil Gene means he can also just keep Boomstick in place and use one of his other one shot options or even just crush Boomstick inside Booster’s shield. This also isn’t getting into the fact that Wiz basically invented almost every arsenal Boomstick has, meaning it's something he’s aware of and something he’ll choose to be careful about. His far greater intelligence and feats of even tricking Boomstick means that he generally has the advantage in that field. Ultimately, despite both gaining updates in their weapons, armor, and skills, Wiz maintains most advantages and remains the winner

Anyways can we have Boomstick and Wiz kiss before the show ends plz k thx
