“Where there is anger, there is always pain underneath.”
- Eckhart Toole
Everyone has limits when it comes to patience; even those with the temperament of a saint will reach a breaking point when push comes to shove and all the rage, anger, and frustration that had been boiling inside them gets unleashed in one explosive fit. While most of us show that rage through the occasional expression of verbal displeasure and others take their aggression out by breaking a few things, our next two combatants, two titans of Herculean strength with the guttural voices to prove it, have had their rage translate to breaking every limit there is to power, enough that their mere footsteps are enough to threaten the universe itself:
The Hulk, the Gamma-powered Green Goliath of the Marvel Universe. Broly, the wrathful Legendary Super Saiyan from Dragon Ball. Season 7 of Death Battle will cap off with a bang, as Dr. Bruce Banner makes his second trip into the arena, opposing yet another rampaging alien warrior whose rage might just rival his own. By all means, the immeasurable power both these men possess have allowed them to trade blows with beings strong enough to be considered as gods, and it’s time to test who has enough in the tank to spare in one last bout for the year. In this clash of titans, who will prove themselves to be the strongest and angriest there is?
A Quick Heads-Up From Ya Bois
So the only real bit of housekeeping we gotta do here is to establish what’s good and not suitable for either side, and the teaser did at least point us in the direction Death Battle is likely to take.
For the Hulk, we will be including feats accomplished under his newest persona, Immortal/Devil Hulk. This new incarnation of his has been the Hulk’s base for the past few years in the mainline 616 Marvel canon, which makes it good enough to be used without any major hiccups. That said, feats from other personalities like Savage and World Breaker Hulk will also be taken into account.
As for Broly, this is strictly going to cover his appearances as per the normal Dragon Ball canon. This means his analysis will primarily cover feats and scaling pertaining to his 2018 movie and anything else related to Dragon Ball Super. While we will take a quick look at his original incarnation, its non-canon nature means that it will be prioritized far less than his canon version.
(We are also aware that there is the temptation to bring up a certain controversy related to Broly. Please do not, as we just want to focus on the character themselves and not cause any drama-related issues. We respect all of the amazing vocal performances in both Dubbed and Subbed.)
Finally, we may or may not have gotten a little caught up with our hype for these two characters so uh expect a bit more jokes than normal.
Background
Hulk
“You make Hulk angry... You not like Hulk angry!”
One quick glance at mild-mannered theoretical physicist Robert Bruce Banner would be enough to tell you that he would not seem like a being capable of tearing the world asunder with his bare hands, but that would ignore the circumstances that allow him to show you the other side of himself capable of doing just that. Once a simple-minded scientist with a rough upbringing he would like to store away, Bruce was contracted by the Department of Defense to help develop the Gamma Bomb, a nuclear weapon loaded with high concentrations of Gamma radiation. It was set to undergo its first test without incident until Bruce had noticed a rather brash teenager loitering in the test site for a dare and moved to bring him out before the weapon detonated.
Unbeknownst to Bruce, his Soviet spy of a partner attempted to foil the project entirely by detonating it early, while Bruce himself was still in the blast zone. The explosion and subsequent fallout would have been enough to kill any mortal man, but he proved to be an exception; due to quirks within his own genetic code, Bruce not only survived but found an unusual side effect to his exposure. In times of intense anger, he transforms into a green-skinned giant that embodies all of his inner demons and unleashes them in a rampage that often leaves anything in his wake broken and shattered. For those foolish enough to make him angry, they found themselves no longer dealing with Bruce Banner, but someone else entirely: the Incredible Hulk.
For years after this incident, Bruce and the Hulk have attempted to find ways to coexist with each other’s personality and control over their shared body, with mixed results. On most days, he spends life as a fugitive on the run due to the Hulk’s destructive tendencies, while on others, his absurdly genius-level intellect and the Hulk’s unmatched power have made him a valuable ally to the superhero community by becoming the biggest muscle needed to challenge foes none of his allies could stand up to. Such actions, in addition to stints with various superhero teams, have allowed both of them to be recognized not just like a monster, but as heroes who continue to protect the innocent, and smash any and all evildoers wherever they may hide.
Broly
"You shouldn't say bad things about my father..."
Legends were told among the Saiyan race on their home planet of Vegeta about the Super Saiyan, a being of incredible power that had not been seen in over 1000 years. The tales of such a warrior destined to cause untold destruction and slaughter all in their path to emerge from the ranks of the race as battle-hungry as the Saiyans proved to be so threatening, that the galactic warlord Frieza had called for the genocide of their entire race and the annihilation of their planet to prevent any one of these Super Saiyans from overthrowing him. Only a handful of Saiyans are spared from this event, with one of them naturally possessing the power needed to attain this form of legend: Broly, son to the former Saiyan army leader Paragus.
Even as a child, Broly’s power levels dwarfed those of King Vegeta’s own son; fearing that he would grow up to one day cause the destruction of not just Planet Vegeta but the entire universe, the Saiyan leader arranged for him and Paragus to be exiled on the planet Vampa to prevent this from coming to pass. Distraught, Paragus trained Broly to hone his power in hopes of one day returning to overthrow the king, all while remaining unaware that Frieza had not just wiped out their entire race and their homeworld, but would eventually meet his end at the hands of one Saiyan who not only survived by being sent to Earth but also attained the power of a Super Saiyan on his own along with another survivor: King Vegeta’s namesake son, Prince Vegeta IV.
After spending several years in exile, Broly and Paragus were rescued by the Frieza Force and had their feelings of revenge used by Frieza to go after the two remaining Saiyans on Earth, Goku and Vegeta. The death of Paragus at Frieza’s hands triggers Broly’s latent Super Saiyan abilities, bringing out the fabled harbinger of destruction to clash with his godly Saiyan rivals in about that tore apart the entire dimensions. Despite nearly meeting his own end at the hands of their fused form, Broly was spared by a timely wish from the Dragon Balls to live a life of solitude and peace, one which the ever-friendly Goku supported, not just to become comrades in the future but to also draw out a new rival whose true potential just may be unleashed yet.
Equipment
Hulk
Pants
He wears purple pants they are pretty iconic aha ha
Broly
Battle Armor
A suit of specialized Frieza Force armor gifted to Broly and his father Paragus. The armor seemingly offers some light protection from blunt damage, although it is not particularly sturdy.
Shock Collar
A collar Paragus strapped to Broly to contain his violent outbursts. With the press of a button, the collar administers a painful electric shock to Broly. However, he can easily break the collar at any time.
Abilities
Hulk
Rage Amplification
A weaponization of the anger Hulk has felt for years due to the mistreatment he has received. As Hulk increases in anger, his strength continues to rise further and further. His rising anger allows him to literally beat his own power being used on him. Stated in official material as well.
Thunderclap
To this day, Hulk’s most iconic move is the mighty Thunderclap. With a powerful clap of his hands, Banner lays waste to everything in sight with a tremendous shockwave that dwarfs history’s worst disasters.
Pseudo Flight/Jumping
The Hulk seems to be able to achieve a pseudo level of flight via jumping. According to Tom Breevort, this might actually be a thing.
Healing Factor
Context: Hulk literally had his matter repelled off of him, smacked the guy fucking with him, and was fine and dandy afterwards
In the event that the Hulk is somehow harmed, he has incredibly impressive regenerative abilities. Whether it’s his limbs, organs, or muscle mass, he’ll be rejuvenated within moments. Bruises, cuts, burns, dismemberments, it won’t keep him down for long. The angrier he gets, the more potent the healing factor is, to the point where his immune system literally rejected an injected chemical that specifically counteracted this ability. With this comes an immunity to disease and a prolonged lifespan. At one point, he was sliced up into several pieces for experiments, including his own bisected, yet still beating, heart. Every last piece of him was placed in a jar. However, as his individual body parts could still move, he broke the glass with a snap to free his divided body, and reformed himself near instantaneously, absorbing the man responsible for his predicament. He also managed to regenerate his skin after the regenerative tissue within was disrupted by a resurrected Abomination’s acid and Hulk ripped the skin off outright.
Energy Manipulation
When enraged sufficiently, such as the World Breaker state, Hulk can emit waves of gamma energy that can encompass a city, potentially even further.
Gamma Manipulation
Hulk has the ability to absorb the Gamma radiation contained in other beings, simultaneously weakening them while strengthening himself. He used this ability to remove the Gamma energy from Walter Langkowski’s body, and thus remove the Sasquatch form from him as well. He can also absorb pure gamma radiation from the surrounding atmosphere and isolated sources to restore his Hulk form and power.
Life Force Absorption
Although rarely seen using it himself, Gamma mutates have the ability to absorb Gamma radiation from living creatures. If enough of the gamma is absorbed, the creature dies.
Absorption
Hulk can absorb beings caught in the middle of his regenerative process into his body, breaking down their being into an unrecognizable state.
Extrasensory Perception
Hulk has the ability to smell liars. Even Thor says so. More than just that, however, Hulk can also see astral projections, spirits, and ghosts. Bruce originally developed this power due to a fear of his father coming back as a ghost in order to hurt him.
Immortality
All Gamma Mutates have the ability to travel between the Below-Space, which is where they go when they die, and the regular parts of reality by utilizing special Green Doors, unique to each mutate. If Bruce Banner or the Hulk die at any point, even if they were in an incredibly severe state of pain or damage, they will return at their peak, seen when Red She-Hulk devoured Hulk’s heart, killing him, and he returned as normal, allowing him to defeat Abomination. Sometimes Gamma Mutates can even return through the Green Doors of other Mutates, such as when Leonard Samson returned through Walter’s Green Door as “Doc Sasquatch”, allowing him to communicate with Gamma Flight. Green Doors have even allowed the return of characters like the Leader when he was completely disintegrated. Lastly, those with extensive knowledge on the Green Doors, such as Sam Sterns, can even shut them off to prevent the Mutate in question from returning through said door.
The Green Door
The Green Door is a metaphysical barrier that connects the Below-Place, the bottom layer of the Multiverse even below the deepest layer of Hell, to the real world. After death, the souls of gamma mutates cross into the Below-Place through the Green Door. They are then capable of returning to life when another Green Door manifests for them, though they possess no memory of this following their resurrection.
The Hulk can freely use the green door to return, with memories intact.
Using the green door to return from reality will restore the body of the user, seemingly healing all wounds and even restoring the body from bits of flesh. Should the body of the user be completely destroyed, it will take time for the body to return, as seen with The Leader.
The Below Place
The Below Place is the lowest layer of Hell, and the bottom layer of all creation, essentially the bedrock below the omniverse. It is the very idea of Hell itself, a concept beyond concepts, transcending all layers above. It is home to The One Below All, the antithesis to Marvel’s supreme God, the One Above All. The Below Place is so hellish and so unholy, that it is the very absence of God itself. The very absence of the One Above All. “What is God’s anger? God’s face, turning away.” How can God be gone? How can someone omnipresent be gone? Well, you see, God is never gone. The One Above All is omnipresent, but yet, it’s an absence of God. All is a part of him, including the Devil himself. Paradoxical, yes, yet in the sense of omnipotence, nothing makes sense, does it?
There’s a concept in the Qabalah called the Tree of Life. Its opposite, the shadow side is known as Qlippoth. The highest point on the Tree of Life is Keter, the crown which is set above all things. Compassion beyond comprehension and the unity of the divine. On its opposite side, however, in its reflection… in Qlippoth, and on the lowest point is Thaumiel… in which the divine unity splits into two and a darker shadow self emerges. A hell beyond hells. A hell below all.
Being the complete antithesis of The One Above All, his shadow, The One Below All could be directly compared to The One Above All, although in terms of power, he is not quite as powerful. As TOAA and TOBA represent two opposite dichotomies, The Below Place is the exact opposite of The One Above All’s Heaven (Do NOT get it confused with the House of Ideas, TOAA’s Heaven resides below it), or in other words, it’s the other side of the same coin. For reference, primal love in its purest form transcended Oblivion to such a degree that it not only empowers him, but also the dream known as reality. For example, Oblivion is the Outside that transcends Multi-Eternity of the 8th Cosmos, a being who contains several outerversal realms transcending each other to a vast degree, with some of those outerversal realms, such as the Superflow being their own transcendent hierarchies of power (for example, Overspace would technically be contained within the Superflow now, but based off of information from other comics, so does the Astral Plane). By this logic, the Below Place would be beyond the Outside and beyond Oblivion’s influence. TOAA’s Heaven ≈ The Below Place >> Oblivion >= The Outside >>> Multi-Eternity (8th Cosmos) = (High Outer) >>> Living Tribunal (High into outerversal).
Psychic Resistance
The Hulk has developed high levels of resistance to mental attacks:
Resistances
Hulk’s unique physiology gives him a plethora of biological and hax based resistances.
These include, but are not limited to, the following:
Personalities
This isn’t technically an “ability” per se, but it is worth noting that things aren’t as simple as just two sides, being Banner and Hulk. Bruce suffers from DID, or dissociative identity disorder. As a result, he has multiple personalities, with varying levels of intelligence, mannerisms, and even base strength. The identities of the Hulk are as follows:
Savage/Child Hulk - This is the personality most people are familiar with: the one that’s always angry, and shouting “HULK SMASH” at the top of his lungs. With the temperance and comprehension skills of a child, this personality represents Banner’s inner rage through a personification of his childhood trauma brought upon by his father.
Grey Hulk / Joe Fixit - Joe Fixit is a street-talking former casino enforcer. While being physically weaker than many other versions of the Hulk, Joe makes up for it by being one of the more intellectual variants of Hulk, although not to the same degree as Bruce Banner. For some time he preferred mainly to come out at night, but longtime relations with Banner have changed him in some way, making him more inclined to come out in the sun. In human form, Joe is far more aggressive and combative than the mild-mannered Bruce Banner.
Professor Hulk / Doc Green - This merged persona combined traits of Bruce Banner, Savage Hulk and Grey Hulk into one being, retaining key traits such as strength, intelligence and wit.
Green Scar - Also known as World Breaker Hulk. First simmering within Hulk's exile to Sakaar and subsequent return to Earth, this is the Hulk at arguably his peak of strength, the result of Bruce (willingly or otherwise) giving up complete control to truly let the Hulk fight to the best of his power and ability. World Breaker Hulk is the full power of Green Scar.
Devil Hulk - The sinister name of this personality fits the bill. This is a manifestation of Banner’s most evil, malevolent, and diabolical traits. He is cunning and shrewd, putting the Savage Hulk to shame in intelligence, even being able to have long-winded conversations and refer to himself in the first person. In many ways, he is smarter than Banner himself in terms of deductive reasoning and gut hunches. However, he also is not completely without morals, as he was constructed as a coping mechanism to give Bruce a father figure when his real father could not provide true love.
Breaker of Worlds - While this personality is nonstandard, we should mention it. Basically this is the personality that comes about when the One Below All takes over the Hulk. In this state he becomes an absolute force of nature being able to wipe out Galactus and Franklin Richards in the future. He was capable of devouring Metatron, the sentience of the 8th Cosmos and then managed to kill the entirety of the 9th Cosmos as well. While they are named “___th Cosmos”, they are actually far more than universes. Far more than multiverses even! So much so that Al Ewing considers them omniverses and for good reason. They contain transcendentally powerful outerversal realms within them and become more powerful with each rebirth! The Living Tribunal himself is a part of the 8th Cosmos and the 9th Cosmos is far more powerful, yet the Breaker of Worlds was able to destroy 9th Cosmos Eternity and become the sole survivor of all of existence, implying he killed other abstract beings as well such as Molecule Man or the Beyonder. It is pretty much cosmic horror Hulk and very little (if anything) in the Marvel Universe is capable of stopping him when he becomes the Breaker of Worlds.
Broly
Hand-to-Hand Combat
(Vibe Check)
As expected from a Dragon Ball character, Broly is an exceptional close-range brawler. A talented fighter since birth and helped by his Saiyan heritage, Broly has developed one of the more unique fighting styles in the series. In stark contrast with fellow saiyans like Goku and Vegeta, Broly rarely relies on fancy martial arts and tricky maneuvers to get by. His approach is more direct (usually referred as “Unga Bunga”) relying on more brutal swings, some frankly wicked grapples and boxing-like techniques to overwhelm the opponent.
Adaptability
Interestingly, as noted by Vegeta, Broly possesses the uncanny ability to quickly adapt to the fighter or situation he has on hand, either it be by changing his style-of combat entirely or by sheer power-output alone. This is how he could keep up with much more experienced fighters like Goku and Frieza despite having little formal training aside from a few sparring sessions with his father. This comes at a price however, as the stronger Broly becomes, the more he loses control of himself, becoming more violent and prone to instinct the longer the fight drags.
Ki Manipulation
(gonorrhea)
Like most characters in the Dragon Ball multiverse, Broly has learned the ability to manipulate his own latent energy as a tool and weapon, usually named Ki. This is a tangible energy inside every living being, by drawing it out, a skilled individual is able to control it and use it for many different techniques or also use it to increase their strength and durability. It is worth to note that there are various types of Ki, and even though Broly has only displayed the use of normal Ki, his seems to be “supercharged” if that makes any sense, as it is able to overpower and keep up with higher forms of Ki like God Ki. Regardless, here are some of the techniques Broly has displayed by making use of this energy:
Flight: You know the drill, by making use of ki he gains the ability to fly at high speeds.
Ki Blasts: The most basic form of a Ki attack, usually in the form of glowing green spheres Broly has shown the ability to shoot a LOT of them in very short bursts.
God Bind: After seeing Goku perform the technique, Broly was able to reverse it on Goku. Allows the user to trap the enemy in place.
Eraser Cannon (I GOT A PRESENT FOR YOU): A classic of pretty much all versions of Broly, where they charge their energy into their palm to make a small sphere, then they later shoot at the opponent, causing devastating damage.
Eraser Blow: A variation of the Eraser Cannon, but instead of being shot from afar, Broly rushes the opponent and once close to them, releases the blast in their stomach. (It's also a pretty good combo extension in FighterZ).
Blaster Meteor: Broly forms a shield around his body, and then unleashes a barrage of blasts in all directions.
Gigantic Breath: A powerful ki-blast that Broly fires up from his mouth.
Gigantic Charge: A move in which broly, with a ki-sphere per hand, charges at the opponent, blasting them with both energy spheres from up close.
Omega Blaster: Broly engulfs himself in a green shield, which he later expands outwards with tremendous force, serving as an energy wave that eliminates anything in its path.
Planet Crusher: As shown on the gif above, Broly raises his hands in the air, creating a massive ki-sphere which he later throws, causing a lot of damage.
Gigantic Full Blast: Usually followed after a punch, Broly brings his right hand to his side and charges a green energy sphere before firing it forward to launch a gigantic energy wave, inflicting a huge amount of damage.
Powered Shell: Though ki can usually be used to naturally protect the body from harm (as in a dip in a pool of lava) nothing’s wrong with a little more protection, this is basically an extra energy shield he can summon around himself.
Gigantic Omega Storm: Broly first creates a ball of Ki in front of him, which he later pushes forward with his hands to create a powerful energy wave.
Gigantic Catastrophe: (also known as “the best Level-3 in FighterZ”[citation needed]) Broly fires a highly explosive and destructive energy beam from his mouth, flinging his body from side to side in a violent rage. In the movie he followed this move with a powerful energy blast.
Saiyan Forms
(TO GO EVEN FURTHER BEYOND)
It’s not a cosmic Dragon Ball battle without super forms, right? Members of the Saiyan race are capable of achieving new forms of power, from the mighty Oozaru to the legendary Super Saiyan to forms that can rival gods. Broly is one of the few Saiyans capable of reaching such forms, but he also has a few unique ones of his own.
Oozaru/Wrathful/Ikari
Broly fully embraces the inner monke, being able to draw out the full potential of a Great Ape despite not having a tail...somehow. This form is usually shown by a slight green hew and yellow pupils. As expected this greatly enhances his power, being about on par with, or perhaps even surpassing, a Super Saiyan God.
Super Saiyan
After experiencing the trauma of losing his father to a stray ki blast (totally not murder), Broly attained a new state of being, that of a Super Saiyan. As expected, his strength and energy output grows massively, being able to easily overpower Super Saiyan God Super Saiyans, as well as stomp the powerful Golden Frieza for one hour.
Super Saiyan Full Power
Also known as shirtless Broly. His power becomes maximum and his swoleness rises exponentially to virtually infinite levels of infinity, becoming the wet dream of powerlifters everywhere, male and female alike.

Speed
[insert extreme rarity joke]
Catches a rocket mid-flight
Capable of moving and fighting at blurred speeds
Appears in front of the gunmen without noticing him beforehand
Fast enough to tag Quicksilver
Quicksilver can outrun radio waves and react in a picosecond
Has consistently tagged and kept up with the likes of Thor and Silver Surfer
Thor can consistently travel from Earth to Asgard “in moments” (1.579 Quintillion c - 15.793 Quintillion c) and has flown to the edge of the infinite towards the void beyond the furthest reach of thought itself
Silver Surfer could travel half a million lightyears in short time (3.15 Trillion c) and time travel through speed alone
Thor has shown to be able to react in microseconds
Silver Silver has consistently displayed microseconds and nanoseconds reaction times
Dodges Thor’s Mjolnir and catches Silver Surfer’s board, both of which can travel at MFTL+ speeds

Overall
As a child, his power level was ranked among the highest out of all Saiyans
Fought and defeated Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta, as well as Golden Frieza
Spent several decades training under his father on Vampa

Power
(GO BROLY GOGO)
Goku theorized that his power may surpass even Beerus’

Punched SSG Vegeta through a mountain while in his Wrathful form
Pulled a reverse Uno card on Goku’s God Ki when the latter was trying to stop him.
As shown above, completely manhandled Goku, even in his SSG form
This is important, as even in his first outing as SSG, Goku’s clashes with Beerus were powerful enough to potentially destroy Universe 7, which is much larger than our own universe. (5:17)
Goku managed to absorb the power of SSG into his base form, meaning Broly is far above this
Met SSB Goku’s punch with his own, creating a huge explosion
Easily overpowered SSB Goku and Vegeta at the same time
Overpowered a combined Kamehameha and Galick Gun attack with one energy ball

This is supported by the novel, where it is mentioned that “The boundary of the dimension could not withstand the energy released by them and got torn apart.”
His destructive power is stated to be greater than a God of Destruction’s
His incarnation from Dragon Ball Z effortlessly destroyed South Galaxy
His power is maximum
Speed
Kept up with both base and Super Saiyan Goku and Vegeta
Much, much faster than characters who can dodge BoZ Piccolo’s Ki blasts, which can reach the moon in seconds
Catches up to Goku after blasting him in order to hit him again
As The Legendary Super Saiyan he can dodge all the blows of Super Saiyan Goku. And Piccolo at the same time
Keeps pace against Gogeta and both were able to move fast enough to appear as if they were teleporting
Should be superior to Battle of Gods Goku, who kept up with Beerus, who is capable of universe crossing (375 quadrillion times the speed of light)
Should scale far above the shockwaves occurred during Goku and Beerus’ clash, which traveled throughout all of Universe 7 and reached the Kai Realm (410.5 quadrillion-5.75 quintillion c)
Durability

He didn't even move before a full power Kamehameha from Super Saiyan Goku
Takes a 3 man Kamehameha from Goku, Gohan and Goten to overpower Broly and push him into the sun
Tanks his own Ki blast reflected back at him while as the Legendary Super Saiyan
Weaknesses
Hulk
Over the years, the scrambled minds of Banner and Hulk have found a...relatively “healthy” way of co-existing. They know they rely on each other, and Hulk’s intelligence has skyrocketed since the days of old. However, should he get angry enough, Hulk risks going back to his roots and becoming a thoughtless savage monster whose only desire is to smash, and in only one of the fun ways. Granted, this isn’t exactly a cut and dry weakness, as the Hulk’s true power in many instances comes when Bruce acquiesces control of their body entirely to do what the Hulk wants. Hulk also generally prefers to only come out at night, as that is “his time”, and has been known to transform back into Banner either in sunlight or under the glow of ultraviolet light, but he has learned to overcome this to some degree. Certain types of acid can also bypass Hulk’s regenerative capabilities, and Hulk is liable to having his gamma energy stolen, which leaves him weaker.
The Devil Hulk was weak to sunlight, and immediate exposure would revert him back to Bruce Banner. Over a few months, Devil Hulk overcame this weakness.
But worst of all, the most nefarious weakness that could bring him to his knees even at his strongest-
puppies
Broly
Not only did they cut off his best and only childhood friend’s ear (who was a wild animal) he’s technically an orphan now too, being Broly sucks. In all seriousness Broly doesn’t have too much in the way of weaknesses, but he does have one big flaw. Broly lacks somewhat in terms of controlling his power when in his higher forms, which more skilled fighters can exploit to plan out and overpower him. This lack of control also results in him expending his ki at a rapid pace, and while he does have an extremely large pool to take from, he could potentially exhaust it all in a prolonged skirmish.

When I saw this fight announced, I was ecstatic. I thought and I still do, that Marvel’s Big 5 (Captain America, Spider-Man, Thor, Iron Man, and Hulk) should return for another episode. Now that Hulk has returned, he can be crossed off. Onto what I think of this episode… it’s not as close as some may hope but honestly, this was one of my most requested fights and everything looks extremely promising right now. The track, the animation in the sneak peak, the preview trailers… everything. Plus, Swan’s writing and I love his episodes so that’s awesome!
Now, onto who wins. I’ll go over the main points, break them down, and then go over some questions that were commonly brought up along with some misconceptions. Let’s get started!
First, stats, and Hulk clearly takes the stat trinity. He’s faster, stronger, and more durable. The biggest gap though, is the speed. I’m not sure where the episode will place Hulk’s speed but he should be, at the absolute minimum, high into the quadrillions. Over 3.5x higher than Beerus’ speed given in his episode (240 quadrillion), however, that’s Hulk’s lower end feats. He should definitely get into the quintillions and even sextillions, septillions, and decillions if not up to infinite speed thanks to the Marvel Universe being stated to be infinite dozens of times.
This should also impact attack potency and strength because even while Broly massively upscales from the Goku that fought Beerus during Battle of Gods, a single universe in Marvel isn’t just beyond a singular Dragon Ball Macrocosm, but beyond the entire Dragon Ball multiverse. Even if we say Hulk doesn’t scale to the totality of a singular universe in Marvel, he would still have strength massively higher than that of Broly. This would also apply for durability making Hulk far more powerful than anything Broly has encountered.
Now for the FAQ:
What’s the evidence for universes in Marvel being stated to be infinite:
(Quoted from another doc I made): “The Marvel Universe is a vast phenomenon. At a very minimum, it’s at least 2 trillion lightyears in diameter (assuming the Earth is in the middle of the universe). Depending on what “thought years” are, the universe could be far greater than just 2 trillion lightyears, even via finite statements for thought is repeatedly stated to be far faster than light. However, the universe is far more likely to be greater than a simple finite value due to the consistent statements of the universe being truly infinite. You could say that some statements might be hyperbolic or symbolic, but there are far more reliable statements from reliable sources such as Odin Borson, the Watcher, and Galactus that debunk this notion.”
What about the supposed debunks to infinite sized universes:
There have been statements that the universe has an edge, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not infinite. You might ask, how’s that possible? How can infinity have an edge? The simple answer… it’s comics. I think a lot of us have learned by now that in comics, and especially Marvel and DC, stuff never makes sense. If you’ve seen characters who can literally outrun the very fundamental force of speed and all kinetic energy in the multiverse, I think you can understand that infinity can have an edge. And before you point out that it was DC, Thor literally negged a bomb that was going to kill every god across the universe in every conceivable timeline, including his past and future, skyfather self… so yes, Marvel has crazy moments too. Now to the complicated version, Marvel has sets of infinity and this thing called transfinite numbers which by their own definition are numbers that are beyond infinity. It stems into aleph null and beyond that so yeah, there are smaller infinities and bigger infinities. Transcendent infinites. Finite infinities and infinite infinites. Infinities beyond infinites and outerversal infinities. It’s just how Marvel works. And if it makes you feel better, the Living Tribunal himself stated the universe was infinite so… not much to argue there, is it? It also lines up with a statement from Uatu stating that every universe creates an infinite number of timeline universes every quantum moment and so on, ad infinitum. That’s a lot of infinities. There’s also the fact that some people consider said statements to be hyperbole, but only some of the statements can be hyperbolic. Others are literal and meant to be taken literally. Even then, Hercules was literally stated to be lifting infinite mass and Thor as a child moved a book of infinite pages, with his dark, shadowy Donald Blake-self being capable of lifting the entire book.
What’s the deal with higher dimensional stuff for Marvel universes:
Marvel has a lot of stuff for higher dimensional universes. I’m mainly talking about this cause a lot of this time, people were simply going off of 1 trillion lightyears. I can see some reasons why but in the end, there are some structures in Marvel that can be in no way, shape, or form, put at only finite universal. There are numerous statements to suggest Asgard is beyond time and space, making it 5th dimensional at the lowest. Thor even states that his divinity transcends dimensions, and even if you solely look at the context for the feat and nothing more, his divinity transcends a tesseract, a 4th dimensional object. Furthermore, you have statements like Mephisto’s realm, which is its own universe, stated to be an infinitely transcendent surreality. Even if you say this was not Mephisto’s realm but the space in which the portal to Mephisto’s realm was, it’s still likely in the 616 universe and therefore, a part of it. Not only this, but you have Yggdrasil emanating into the universe (Odin says 10 realms in this reality) and branching off into 10 different realms (Heven included) with a likelihood of it branching off an infinite number of universal realms into the 616 universe!
What about multipliers:
Multipliers are generally seen as calcstacking unless there’s a good reason to use them and I’ll be honest, I’m not really sure how accurate it would be to use them for Dragon Ball. Characters have never shown feats on par with destroying 18,000 universes or whatever number you get via multipliers. You might say the same thing for Marvel, but Dragon Ball is far more blatant about universal feats and when it comes to feats on that degree, they don’t always differentiate between attack potency and destructive capability. Marvel on the other hand is quite different. Planetary level feats are seen as impressive when a herald tier character does them but we all know their upper limit is far above. Hulk has withstood blows from Hulk and Prometheus-style torture with his healing factor burned out, he’s fought Sentry to a standstill, caused a multiversal sexquake by banging Umar (Dormammu’s sister), and if you really want to go that route, Hulk has had his own weird multipliers in the past before and so has Thor with the amps from Warrior’s Madness and Belt of Strength, and guess who Hulk has fought several times before? That’s right… Thor! And he’s also fought Silver Surfer. Thor and Surfer have this weird history of pulling off crazy high feats and then acting like they’re not crazy impressive even though it’s like skyfather level stuff.
Does Broly have a chance:
Does Goku have a chance against Superman? Does Vegeta have a chance against Thor? Maybe. It’s an extremely small one though. Hulk is stronger. Hulk is faster. Hulk is more powerful. We haven’t even touched up on hax, but yeah, Hulk definitely has hax. The Green Door, Gamma Absorption, Regeneration… that’s a lot. The guy can literally come back to life after death and night-instantaneously on will too considering he’s learned to control how quick he can travel between the Below Place and the universe. Broly definitely has more ranged attacks and his ki blasts are gonna be annoying, but even if he somehow does kill Hulk, he’ll just return back to life even more pissed off than before. Eventually, once he gets too pissed off, the Green Scar persona will take over. He’ll go World Breaker, and I hate to break it to you, but even remotely scaling to a suppressed Sentry is beyond anything in Dragon Ball. Sentry is literally Superman, but to the 100th power. Eventually, it’ll get to a point where Hulk just straight up blitzes and one-shots, perhaps with his gamma aura alone.
In the end, Broly’s certainly a powerful opponent, but Hulk is just faster, stronger, more powerful, more versatile, and just a smarter combatant. He has better control over his abilities and with the Green Door and Devil Hulk persona on his side, I really just don’t see him losing.
Happy Holidays :D
MomoUra
(Dammit I knew Lee was gonna fucking die why did both naruto characters have to die this season fuck.)
While not having a verdict that I agree or was pleased with I still did enjoy Sanji vs Lee and they handled Lee surprisingly well. So now let’s see what our season finale is-
Oh
Well I wasn’t expecting this at all. I thought we were going to get Asura vs Broly but instead we have Hulk vs Broly. While I like this match up and I think it could have really great animation, which is why I’m still hyped, I’m also with others on how there is a ridiculous amount of Marvel and DC in this season. I get that they have plenty of characters that DB could use but this is just tiring now. Half of the season is composed of one or the other, and I didn’t feel like this was necessary Ngl, (Dragon Ball Super Broly is a fucking amazing movie though and if you haven’t watched it yet you definitely should)
I think this debate is very clear cut so this won’t be very long (sorry if you were expecting another Sanji vs Lee).
Hulk should pretty safely take the stat trinity due to multiple reasons:
The Marvel Universe is thousands of times larger than our own, and there are many feats that would put Hulk on that level, like Hyperion and Thor’s respective Uni feats. New info has surfaced regarding the cosmology of Earth 616 and how it’s likely a macrocosm. This should actually put Hulk at 26,928x uni ap.
As for Broly, he’s low multi via scaling to Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta, who are massively above Super Saiyan God Goku. Super Saiyan God Goku could fight on par with Beerus and their fight threatened all of Universe 7. This is supported even further here. This would normally be Uni, if it weren’t for Universe 7 containing heaven which is as large as the universe. Same goes for the Demon Realm. DB was able to use pixel scaling to get the universe to 9x as well. Broly actually upscales from this feat as well, given that he was able to fight SSB Gogeta in Legendary Super Saiyan form. While he ultimately lost, he was still able to keep up and clashed with him several times.
Dragon Ball has made it very clear that Kaioken is to be treated like a multiplier to one's strength, so I’ll be using it here for Broly’s ap. Broly should also reasonably scale to the Gogeta multiplier, which is 2x.
9 x 20 = 180
180 x 2 = 360
As of now I think these multiplers are fine to use, and should put Broly at 360x Uni. But that pales in comparison to Hulk reaching thousands of times universal. And that’s not even considering the fact that Hulk has his own multipliers (Pandora’s Box) you could apply. Hulk should take the ap advantage, and I’d argue it’s a very massive gap.
In terms of speed, Hulk scales to this. Should get around 3 quintillion times the speed of light.
Broly scales to high end quadrillions - low quintillion due to Beerus/Whis traveling speed and Goku and Beerus’s shockwaves. They should be around even in speed dude to this, however using multipliers could give Broly the advantage. Since Hulk’s Pandora Box multiplier would put him even higher. I don’t want to use the decillions feat for Hulk since I’ve heard there’s some problems with it, but should we take both Broly and Hulk’s high end speed scaling, Hulk would, very clearly edge out due to this.
This isn’t even mentioning how it’s possible the marvel universe is infinite in size, due to multiple statements. The most noteworthy ones to me would be these three. These kinda statements are made by reliable sources and are very, very, consistent. I know some people think it’s hyperbole but I don’t find myself agreeing with that notion personally. It’s just too consistent to ignore. Akhil explained it well in his verdict, Essentially it having an edge also doesn’t disprove it due to the fact that this is fiction and legit anything that doesn’t make sense, can make sense very easily. This could possibly put Hulk at Multi+, though I wouldn’t argue it.
As for non stat advantages:
Hulk’s regen/immortality is insane. He can go through the Green Door whenever he dies, and Broly would have no way to anticipate it. Even if Broly vaporizes Hulk, his soul can simply travel through the below place and allow Hulk to be revived once more.
He also has life force absorption and gamma absorption both of which can turn out to be very useful when fighting Broly. Hulk is also more experienced, intelligent, and has better control over his rage and anger. Broly should be more skilled in CQC but Hulk himself definitely isn’t a slouch when it comes to that, as he’s able to regularly fight with heralds like Thor. Broly does seem to have an advantage when it comes to mobility and range though.
Overall, as much as I love Broly, I can’t really say to myself that this is a fair fight. Hulk is many times more powerful, much faster, more experienced, smarter, has a regeneration factor that Broly has no way around, and has powerful life draining hax. Hulk will be the winner in what can be expected to be an incredible and legendary season finale.
Happy 10th Anniversary DB, i'm glad I was able to live to experience it. See you in 2021, hopefully it’ll be a much better year than 2020.
Hyperstarman
Sanji vs Lee was amazing, it was everything I was hoping for. The analysis was fun, the ending verdict was presented pretty well with what we predicted, the pace of the fight was smooth to me, the interactions were great and really made it feel like a One Piece episode, especially with the final blow and all of it set to that awesome score, it was everything I hoped for. A top 5 for me this season and a good penultimate episode before the finale.
Now with the finale I was coming into this expecting a certain matchup. Asura was originally going to be the finale for season 6 but was pushed back and the finale for this season was worked on for a year so I had high hopes on it being Asura. Asura is one of my favorite characters of all time and his franchise is super underrated, so him getting the treatment of finale material was so hype for me and it would cap of this season for me with a ba--
…..
...
Ok I’ll be real here I was legit kinda annoyed and absolutely flabbergasted that my boy was switched out for yet another Marvel character in a season riddled with Marvel and DC characters. And ye, I get that this was requested too, but like half the season features a Marvel and/or DC character like that’s way too much and makes the season lack real variety in matchups. Poor video game characters were barely even here this season with a total of 3 episodes featuring em. My guess is that this has a lot of niche matchups with a few requested ones to hold us over for the big season 8 which I guess is fair but really makes this season much weaker than the previous two banger seasons, in my opinion at least. I still really enjoyed some of the episodes, one of which in my top 10 favorite death battles, but it was an alright season in the long run with some good standouts. This episode being the send off to this season is kinda fitting I guess, but I was still a bit disappointed with it for a while. But then I thought about it for a second and the truth is, Hulk is Broly’s best option and I’ve warmed up to it over time and I’m really excited to see what they do with these two characters for the finale, and from what I’ve seen from the clips and animation, I’m gonna thoroughly enjoy this. I really love Broly in super, his battle against Gogeta is my favorite fight scene in all of fiction and him having actual character was such a treat to watch. Hulk I also love in some of the movies I’ve seen and the cartoons as well, I really liked his Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes incarnation the most (if you haven’t seen that show, watch it, it’s good and underrated). So I’m well invested into this matchup and excited to see how they cap off yet another season.
Still sad my boy Asura couldn’t get in this time. Perhaps in the future against Kratos which I want the most personally.
Anyways, this is an interesting brawl due to how much these two have changed over the years with the new material they’ve gotten and how it’s changed them both as a character and as combatants. Broly’s new movie changed him into this kind misunderstood soul and actually gave him, ya know actual character this time. And also turned him into a high tier in the verse being able to surpass both Goku and Vegeta’s Blue forms. As for Hulk, while I am a bit more unfamiliar with what it did with him in terms of character, what I do know is that Hulk is now immortal, and by that it means he got really good regeneration in these comics and alot more powerful. So things have certainly developed for these two so let's see what this changes for this matchup. Off the bat, based on where Death Battle placed Beerus and Super Sayian God Goku, Broly will be at least low multiverse as he bodied Goku in both that form and Super Saiyan Blue and most definitely upscales from that 9x universe feat, prob around 360 universes with multipliers *(It’s with Kai Ken times 20 and the fact Goegta is a 2 times multiplier with Goku and Vegeta, this will be used as a high ball for Broly’s AP). Now for his speed again back to that clash Goku and Beerus did, shockwaves erupted from that clash that traveled across all of Universe 7 and reached the Kai Realm which should be around high quads to low qunitillions and Broly would naturally scale to this as well. Broly’s AP would scale to his Dura naturally so we have a good idea of where Broly is placed in stats via mostly from scaling to Goku and Beerus. Now for Hulk, things get a little, absurd to say the least. What I mean is well, being a comic book character, there’s a lot of stuff to unpack especially with someone as iconic as the Hulk. Now for the Hulk he scales all over the friggin place and it can be quite the doozy but I think the most fair and balanced scaling you give Hulk for me, is the 2 times universal feat. Well then doesn’t Broly destroy in that case? Well you see the Marvel universe’s volume is much bigger than our own and it spans trillions of light year across making 1224 times universal and combine that with the Hulk scaling to two universes, it comes out to 2448 times universal for Hulk putting him at a Multiversal level much higher than Broly could achieve, even with a high ball multiplier estimate for Broly. This also naturally scales to the Hulk’s durability as well which puts Broly at a major disadvantage. Sure while Broly can get stronger over the course of a fight with his rage, so can the Hulk as well. This puts Hulk at a huge advantage already and while he may have AP his speed is a bit lacking with Hulk being low quads (I don’t personally buy the higher speed feats for Hulk and have several issues with them but it doesn’t matter in this case) making Broly decently faster from his scaling to the shockwave feat. But even with that speed gap, Broly has no good sure fire way of putting the Hulk down due to the massive gap in AP and on top of that, the Hulk’s green door being able to bring back Hulk from almost any fatal blow almost instantly even if he could manage to hurt the Hulk. The only chance Broly has here is to disintegrate him completely which would count as a loss due to how long it takes for the Hulk to come back from that. Broly unfortunately doesn’t have the AP necessary to be able to do that. And with the Hulk continuously rising strength in battle and with the endurance of fighting with other people for days on end helps back it up, that gap will be near impossible to close. So realistically Hulk should win from my perspective at least. Though while I am a bit wary if Death Battle will give Hulk the volume scaling, the little hints for what they’ve been finding for the Marvel universe seems to suggest this may finally be brought up and be a breakthrough for Marvel heralds.
Looks like Hulk will be serving broccoli tonight! (Yes, I reused the same joke again, I’m very funny as you can tell. And credit to Js250476 for letting me reuse that pun and pic above once again, he is a very cool person.)
And that’s it for this Death Battle season, what a ride it’s been. Happy 10 years to Death Battle and I look forward to the big 10 year anniversary season, really excited to see what’s in store for that season. Happy holidays everyone, catch me in future blogs next year.
ALSO PLEASE DEATH BATTLE, PLEASE MAKE COLE VS ALEX HAPPEN NEXT YEAR, THAT’S THE LAST CHANCE IT HAS AND THEN THESE COLE VS ALEX MEMES MY FRIENDS KEEP SENDING ME CAN FINALLY END PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

(Why are we still here? Just to suffer through more capeshit?)
Like seriously this season has been overstuffed with comic matchups, a lot of it being a hit or miss m̶o̶s̶t̶l̶y̶ ̶m̶i̶s̶s̶ … Only stand out comic matches we had this season were Miles Morales vs Static, Cable vs Booster Gold, Flash (Wally West) vs Sonic (Archie) and Winter Soldier vs Red Hood. The rest of them were very unneeded, but that is just my opinion. But that aside, soo Hulk vs Broly.
Despite the overuse of comic characters this season. I am actually quite excited for this match up considering how thematic it is and the sheer destructive scale they can go with this battle, followed by the fact that Hulk and Broly are one of my favorite characters in Marvel and Dragon Ball. Both of them are good bois and deserve to be protected so consider me invested, but unfortunately… One of them is gonna have to bite the dust. So without further ado, I shall explain who I believe will win in this battle between the clash of these two mighty titans of fiction.
Power/Durability: At first glance. It’s perfectly clear from the get-go how physically powerful both Hulk and Broly are which allowed them to match up against many famed championed heroes and villains of their respective verses. Broly can go toe to toe with the likes of Goku, Vegeta and even Frieza. Hulk on the other hand, has gone up against some of the mightiest powerhouses in the Marvel Universe such as Thor, Silver Surfer, Sentry, Gladiator and Hyperion, just to name a few. And did I mention that the physical force of their strength and power could screw with dimensions? Yeah pretty absurd... But unfortunately Broly falls short in this category both from direct feats and even through scaling.
From direct feats alone, Broly is almost practically featless. The only direct physical feat which appears to be remotely impressive for me without any scaling involved Broly carving through multiple mountains with his energy blast and nuking the entire Arctic area… Impressive yeah? Well meanwhile Hulk by direct feats alone has accomplished astonishing feats like destroying Nightmare’s universe, defeating Nightmare in his dimension and rendering it asunder, his Thunderclap sending shockwaves across an infinite amount of dimensions and channeling energy that is capable of destroying two universes. But as soon as we begin to include scaling into the mix, it becomes clear cut on who is likely to be stronger overall.
Broly obviously scales to Goku who was able to physically match Beerus and in his fight it was said that the shockwave of their physical blows sent across the universe could potentially destroy all of Universe 7 which would at the very least be Universe Level+ considering its size is much larger than our own universe. There is also the fact that Beerus and Champa’s fight was said to destroy both of their respective universes had the two continued fighting which would have likely put it at least Low Multiversal and considering that Goku theorized that Broly’s power could possibly surpass Beerus, it seems plausible to scale him to this in some degree. On the other side of the spectrum, the entire Marvel Universe is repeatedly stated to be infinite in size multiple times or alternatively two trillion light years in diameter. Regardless, these two images solidify that the Marvel Universe is far larger than our own which would make the destructive scale of Hulk’s own feats and the feats of characters which he scales to all the more impressive than it already was, like Thor’s clash with another Thor which created more energy than the Big Bang causing it to erupt across multiple planes of reality and merging infinite timelines and Silver Surfer’s feat where he can safely contain an energy that can destroy two universes. Considering that Hulk has been able to regularly trade blows with Thor and Silver Surfer, there is no doubt that their feats should be applicably scalable to him putting Hulk’s AP/Dura anywhere from Universe Level+ to Multiverse Level+. And that is without going into detail about the plethora of other insane feats that these two characters have done especially when we get to Hercules, Sentry, Hyperion and Gladiator (see more here and here)
So chances are, you can make a far more solid case as to why Hulk hits harder and is more durable than Broly. Which is precisely why I would give this category to the big green giant.
Speed: Despite their size and brutish stature. Looks can be very deceiving as these two giants have been proven to be rather deceptively swift both in travel and combat/reaction speed, still being able to keep up with some of the fastest characters of their respective universes. Broly kept up with Goku and Vegeta, moving to a point where it appeared they were teleporting. Hulk on the other hand has kept up with and tagged Thor, Silver Surfer, Sentry, Hyperion and Gladiator all of whom are capable of traveling through galaxies in a matter of seconds.
Keeping up with Goku no doubt puts Broly at 375 Quadrillion c - 5.75 Quintillion c considering that Goku was able to keep pace with Beerus in their fight. In addition Broly has flight abilities which grants him far greater mobility across the battlefield then Hulk, but unfortunately this will be very moot. Going back to the gist that The Marvel Universe is a trillion lightyears and infinite in size plus considering it is twice the size of our own universe and even Universe 7. Marvel Heralds have been able to traverse through the universe in a matter seconds which puts their speeds in the high Quintillions to Sextillion c range, possibly even Infinite/Immeasurable speeds (same docs as AP/Dura here and here) which have been notably achieved by Thor and Silver Surfer many times, and since Hulk regularly keeps up with them. In hindsight this gives Jade Jaws the speed advantage over the Legendary Super Saiyan.
Hax/Abilities: Broly does not really have much hax nor abilities that are worth writing home about as his whole gist is just hitting things extremely hard. He does however possess Ki Manipulation, which allows for him to use a wide-range of ranged attacks. Something that Hulk clearly doesn’t have access to outside of his Thunderclap, so he does have some options that would allow for him to keep Hulk at bay. Followed by that Broly having the ability to fly unlike Hulk grants him far more mobility across the battle. However Hulk is no stranger to fighting flying opponents with projectiles, as he did fairly well against the likes of Thor, Silver Surfer, Sentry, Hyperion, Gladiator and Iron Man in spite of their aerial mobility and projectiles especially thanks in part to his exceptional leaping power and durability that allow for him to face-tank their projectiles to close in the distance on them. So while these abilities would certainly help Broly, it's not going to slow down the Hulk nor throw him off his game. .
Moving on to Hulk, he is in a similar boat as Broly being known for just hitting things extremely hard, but he does bring two haxes/abilities that would certainly help him greatly in this fight, that being his healing factor and gamma absorption.
With his healing factor. Hulk can basically heal from almost any wound that was inflicted on him, completely undoing any of the damage that Broly has thrown at him. And this is the same Hulk that has healed from being reduced to a skeleton and having his whole skin melted off. Coupled with his Immortality via the Green Door, Broly does not have any viable options available to him that would allow for him to kill off Hulk permanently. It also doesn’t help Broly’s case that he often fights like a mindless berserker (more on that in a moment), it would open up to possible scenarios where Broly could get caught in the middle of Hulk’s regeneration while trying to attack him which would then give Hulk the opportunity to be able to engulf his whole body around the poor Saiyan and absorbing the former into his body while turning him into a state that is unrecognizable.
In the Marvel Universe it's established that Gamma is present in all living beings so if we give verse equalization in this fight. Broly would by virtue have Gamma inside of him. So depending how generous you are willing to be. Hulk to a lesser extent would be capable of draining Broly’s life-force away from his body through gamma absorption. At worst Hulk can only use it to continually power himself when absorbing the Gamma in Broly’s body, fueling his own power and allowing him to keep on fighting for a much longer period of time and at best draining him until he is reduced to a lifeless husk.
So while Hulk doesn’t necessarily need gamma absorption in order to pull a win considering that his broken regeneration is the real star of this category. It would no doubt help him in his fight against Broly.
Intelligence/Experience: When comparing their intelligence and experience side by side. Broly was groomed to be a hardened Saiyan warrior, having been harshly trained under the wing of his father, Paragus. Which molded him into an exceptional hand to hand fighter, but his strategy always resorts to rushing into combat situations like a tactless berserker, hitting as hard as possible hoping that it stops standing with strategy involved.
Hulk’s motto strategy was about the same as Broly in his early Marvel comics publications, but over the years. The Hulk has eventually learned to co-exist peacefully with his alter-ego, Dr. Bruce Banner and eventually the two acted in full synchrony and consonance with one another, both in mind and body. Which has made the Hulk an arguably more dangerous adversary than he already was ever before because of his immense power supplemented with the intelligence of Banner.
Bruce Banner’s IQ and Scientific Geniusness was often compared to or rivaled that of Tony Stark (Iron Man), Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), T’Challa (Black Panther), Hank Pym (Ant Man) and Hank McCoy (Beast). Tony Stark had regarded him as one of the most brilliant scientists in the field of nuclear physics, gamma mutation, engineering and biology and was named the fourth smartest person in the Marvel Universe.
Hulk compared to Broly has fought a huge variety of foes over the years ranging from superhumans, aliens, heralds, cosmic beings, gods, supernatural entities, monsters and otherworldly creatures as opposed to Broly’s only real fighting experience was with Goku, Vegeta and Frieza. And due to Hulk’s synchronized harmony with Bruce Banner, he also inherits his intelligence allowing him to fight more rationally and able to improvise strategies on the fly to outsmart his opponents to put them at a disadvantage should the situation call for it whereas Broly fights as a durbish tank with no nuance in his fighting strategy.
So overall. While Broly is admittingly the more skilled fighter of the two. Hulk here is the much more experienced and intelligent of the two combatants in this match up.
Final Verdict: After fully breaking down how this fight would go. My conclusion overall based on what I had gathered is that while Broly is a tenacious fighter and would undoubtedly put up an excellent brawl against The Incredible Hulk with his own raw power, ki manipulation and flight abilities. He unfortunately doesn’t have what it takes to stack up against Hulk’s overall superior physical stats, regeneration, gamma absorption, intelligence and experience. And so because of that I confidently predict that The Green Goliath will smash his way to an incredible victory against the Saiyan of Legends and prove why he is the strongest one there is.

It’s kinda funny that in the four years between his fights on the show, the Hulk vs. Broly debate looks a lot different now than it was in 2016 when he fought Doomsday, namely due to two things: Immortal Hulk being a thing since 2018, and Broly being brought into the mainline Dragon Ball canon -- both of which ended up making them far stronger than how we used to discuss them back in the day. It’s also kinda funny that despite both being buffed in the interim, it’s still kind of a stomp too.
Time to get this out of the way then:
Simply put, the Hulk’s holding too many good cards in his favor that really limit Broly’s possible options for a win. Mans got a shut-out via stats in all areas that matter, and even among auxiliary advantages and such, Broly doesn’t have enough to use his own edges to counter everything else Hulk can use to end the fight without many problems.
First, let’s start off with power. Discussions about Saiyan power level multipliers and the Hulk’s theoretical ability to attain infinite strength via his ever-rising anger put to one side, pitting these two against each other in terms of using purely quantifiable feats they’ve accomplished by themselves as well as shit they can scale to establishes the uphill battle Broly has to face here. Don’t get me wrong, monke man is hella strong but just look at this comparison:
We know that the Dragon Ball universe is about nine times larger than our own observable universe, and while that might’ve helped Beerus in his fight against Galaxia, that doesn’t help Broly much since by comparison, the Marvel universe is infinitely larger. Emphasis on “infinitely.” Because of how many times the verse is said to be explicitly infinite in size, it already makes a lot of the direct comparisons between equal-ish feats sorta lopsided in the Hulk’s favor by virtue of his universe being bigger. For example, using Beerus as a baseline would allow Broly to scale to the universal shockwave that he and Goku created in Battle of Gods, and would even allow Brocoli to scale to Beerus and Champa’s potential battle being capable of destroying two entire universes. The Hulk’s already two exact counterpoints to that: his Thunderclap is capable of sending shockwaves to an infinite amount of universes, while he’s proven to be a match for the Silver Surfer, who is also stated to be capable of destroying two universes at once.
Beyond that, the scaling continues to show the differences in power, because while Broly could scale to other top tier combatants like Goku and Jiren - the latter of whom does have an infinite universe feat of his own via the World of Void, the Hulk scales to foes who’ve hit far, far worse and with better consistency too. I mean, Thor alone sorta takes the piss out of this comparison alone since his resume includes the following: broke out of a parallel universe contained inside a Tesseract, had his battle against the World Serpent Jormungand felt throughout all the Nine Realms of Yggdrasil, survived an explosion comparable to the Big Bang, created yet another Big Bang by clashing with another version of himself and no-sold a weapon capable of ending the universe alongside (*checks notes*) the Hulk.
Even taking into consideration feats that both men accomplish and without the use of scaling still sorta shows that the Hulk’s still too unga for Broly to handle. With such limited screen time, Broly doesn’t have too many impressive feats to call on his own without explicit comparisons to other Dragon Ball fighters, and this means that he’s very lacking when comparing him to his opponent; by himself, the Hulk’s various accomplishments show him destroying things like the entirety of Nightmare’s realm and even the Dark Dimension itself, in addition to running through an attack that pushed back reality itself to the edge of the universe.
(Disclaimer: Even if you don’t buy the infinite size evidence for any reason whatsoever, the Marvel universe also has statements stating it to be trillions of lightyears in diameter, which no Dragon Ball universe can match. In either scenario, you’re still ending with the Hulk’s universe-level feats with regards to speed and power being far superior than any of Broly’s.)
So yeah, the Hulk’s really at the point where he realistically shouldn’t be hurt by anything Broly can throw, and in turn can easily reduce the man to a stain on the floor in a couple of very good hits, which he very much can land. Speed! Basically, same deal. We’ve got to scale both to others on their level, and as mentioned above, Chris Hemsworth takes the piss out of this category since a lot of his brutally fast speed feats just trump Kakarot’s and Beerus’ by a nutshell, and since Mark Ruffalo scales to him, Hulk > Broly, again.
Oh, and there’s the Green Door to consider. Immortal pretty much describes the Hulk in this MU, as his stupid effective healing factor means that even if Broly were to land any grievous blows, the Hulk could just brush them off and fight on without impairment, while Broly not only lacks a healing factor to begin with, but as stated above isn’t exactly in the position to survive his opponent’s attacks. Even if Broly were to somehow miraculously overtax this and kill the Hulk, it wouldn’t matter. The Green Door basically allows the Hulk to resurrect on the spot all shiny new, so at the core of this issue is that his sheer inability to die for real kind of fucks Broly over hard considering that this was, last I checked, probably a fight to the death.
Then we got the rest of this shit, aka. pretty much the cherry on top. The Hulk - or at least some of his smarter personalities like Doc Green or Devil Hulk - can definitely fight with a lot more brain power than the rampaging one track mind berserker that Broly is, and he’s also boasting more overall combat experience; again, that’s what nearly half a century’s worth of comics does to you when the other guy has way less to work with. Broly’s wide array of ki attacks, arguable better close-quarters combat training and flight may give him slight edges, except the Hulk’s fought and defeated tons of guys who rely on those a lot. Finally, the Hulk’s ability to drain another person’s gamma radiation may likely come into play if he can do the same to Broly; since every being is said to contain trace amounts of Gamma radiation inside them, at best, Broly’ll end up as a battery to fuel the Hulk’s rising strength even further, and at worst, losing all his gamma reduces him to ashes.
Final bit: the reason why none of us are remotely considering old Broly beyond the disclaimer above is that he contributed absolutely nothing to this debate. New Broly is just the vastly superior incarnation of the character (both from a character quality and a VS perspective), and nothing his OG counterpart did holds a candle to that. I mean, when you had the Hulk still winning that match-up prior to Immortal Hulk being a thing...
So yeah gg no re who’s next (pls banner fucking win i beg you)

I may have forgotten what I was gonna say about this match. That and Sephiroth being shirtless in Smash was another distraction.

Alright, so we finally reached the season finale of Death Battle Season 7. Last year, I wrote a blog of my Top 20 Most Wanted Death Battles (which I now have to update regarding the order), and on that list was Hulk VS Broly. You can guess how excited I was when Death Battle announced Hulk VS Broly on Twitter during its 10th anniversary. It’s one of my most wanted because it’s specifically Super Broly (a.k.a. The canon version), and I thought it would be a challenging win for Broly.
Unfortunately, it might not be a win for Broly due to crazy Marvel feats and scaling Hulk has. This leads to Hulk having the advantage in power and speed due to the convoluted cosmology Marvel has and the scaling Hulk receives throughout his personalities. I never got to catch up on all this information for the Hulk due to the fact that Death Battle decided to announce Hulk VS Broly while I was still working on the Sanji VS Rock Lee prediction blog.
While it’s more likely Hulk will win, I’m rooting for Broly to win. Between Marvel and Dragon Ball, I’m more biased towards the latter. You can obviously tell from the avatar I chose. In addition, I really loved the Super Broly movie, especially because it changed Broly’s character for the better and gave him a better background than his Z counterpart. Sure, Z Broly will get a few mentions in this episode, but Super Broly is the one getting the main focus.
Overall, the Hulk is more than likely going to take the win, but it’s much better in my eyes to see Broly win instead. I like him much better as a character, and I favor Dragon Ball more than Marvel. Regardless of who wins, it’s going to be a raging battle as evident by the sneak peek of music and animation given to us.
shaft
(aw yeah, it’s time to go nuclear)
First, I’d like to thank Clock for inviting me onto the G1 blog so that I can give my thoughts on the finale of this wild ride of a season. Secondly, gee that custom score for Godzilla vs Bahamut up there sounds pretty lit. Check out TehGM they make great stuff. And lastly, hey there, this is my very first prediction blog, gonna plug my stuff then lmao. Here’s my Wordpress account where I write fictional characters beat each other to the death.
Now then let’s get to business.
So, DB has actually used a Dragon Ball Super character before in this season in the form of Beerus. Now, while I don’t necessarily agree with how they ranked Beerus, in terms of power, I will be using their stats for this analysis. I don’t see why they wouldn’t reuse the stats from Beerus vs Galaxia, they’ve done that before in the past like recently with Sanji vs Rock Lee where they scaled eighth gate Lee to Guy.
B-but, Broly shouldn’t scale to Beerus.
Well, Goku said that “hey he might be stronger than Beerus and Jiren,” plus, Goku and Beerus caused that shockwave that managed to shake the dragon ball universe. And since Goku needed to fuse with Vegeta just to beat Broly, I’d say that’s fair.
Going over the universe shaking thing again, Goku and Beerus’ combined power managed to shake the entire dragon ball universe. Apparently, "9 Observable universe sized locations = 9 universes" I don’t get the logic but that’s what DB used so let’s roll with it for now. So Broly’s solidly around Low-Multiversal in around 9 universes in.
Speed’s up next and we can use DB’s own shockwave calc to scale to Broly. This is the best speed feat that Death Battle has listed so let’s go with that as well.
So far we have Broly at Low-multiversal and 240 quadrillions c. Pretty good, seems like Broly might have a decent shot in this finale.
But then you realize, oh shit he’s fighting a comic book character.
We can scale Good ol’ Savage Hulk to Thor as both are equal to one another, as shown many times in their past, like the time they managed to become locked in a physical bout that lasted an hour.
When two similar Mjolnir’s collided against one another, it’s collision was comparable to the Big Bang. We know that in multiple statements that the marvel universe is infinite in size, and by several, I mean a lotta statements just flat out say this. Another top-tier character in the Marvel Universe, Silver Surfer, contained the energy needed to destroy two universes. And say it with me folks, the entire Marvel Universe is stated infinite in size. Both Thor and the Hulk have also traded blows with the Surfer, so this is consistent.
Hulk himself with a thunderclap was able to bring destruction to an infinite amount of dimensions. So at the very least, you can say that Savage Hulk is around Low-Multi to Multiversal+ which is more than enough to eclipse Broly in power.
Speed’s up next and we can scale Hulk to fellow characters such as Thor to find that Broly is also fucked in this category. We know that the Marvel universe is infinite in size if the examples in previous examples weren’t enough already. Thor in Journey into Mystery (Vol 1 Issue 94) flew from the Earth to Asgard in a matter of moments after receiving a message from Loki telepathically.
If we low-ball this and say that the distance from Earth to Asgard was around a trillion light-years, and assume it took Thor at least 20 seconds to reach Asgard, thanks to the following calc we would get 1.5 quintillion times FTL. Not bad. But this is a low-ball cuz the marvel universe is infinite in size. Asgard itself has even been described to be across an infinite void from our own universe. This would pretty much mean that Thor has infinite/immeasurable speeds. And like, Hulk can keep up with Mjolnir in speed if you want further consistency. And for even more consistency Thor can just move in a place where time has no meaning.
So yeah Savage Hulk has like all the advantages over Broly. But oh wait ladies and gentleman, we’re in the glorious age of our lord and savior, Immortal Hulk. Highly recommend you read btw.
Devil Hulk is definitely being used in this fight, as it can be seen in the background of Hulk’s preview of the fight shown here, as well as several other things that indicate the use of Devil Hulk.
So, what can Devil Hulk do?
Well, he can shrug off Marvel top tiers like Hercules and Jane Foster Thor, overloaded Black Panther’s Vibranium suit, y’know the suit that could tank blasts from herald characters, one-shot Robbie Reyes, and stomped Wonder Man. All of these characters are pretty high in the Marvel food chain might I add.
This version of the Hulk also has the ability to absorb gamma energy. Gamma is an energy found in all beings, which the Hulk can absorb in order to grow stronger. And if a being’s gamma is fully drained, they just straight-up die. So at worst, if Devil Hulk absorbs all of Broly’s gamma he only becomes an endless battery for him to become stronger. And at best he can just kill Broly by sucking him dry.
Also, the Hulk is straight-up immortal now. Hence the name of the Immortal Hulk comics. If the Hulk manages to die somehow he can just resurrect himself via the Green Door. Sometimes the dude can just come back from death the moment after he dies with no repercussions what so ever.
Even if you wanna disregard stats and focus on secondary stats The Hulk still has a lot more going for him. Sure Broly’s ki attacks give him ranged options and him keeping up with skilled fighters such as Goku and Vegeta shows he’s a better fight in close-range. Plus Broly can fly, and the Hulk can only jump really good.
But the Hulk’s been around way longer than Broly, I mean have you seen Broly’s suggested media? Broly ain’t shit compared to all the things the Hulk has fought. Even in the range department, the Hulk has the advantage here, the Thunder Clap being able to affect an infinite amount of different dimensions means that no matter where he is, he’s gonna get clapped literally and figuratively.
While in a pure fistfight, Broly might be able to keep the Hulk on his toes and he can probably adapt to Devil Hulk’s fighting style if the fight goes on long enough. But Devil Hulk is way smarter than Broly and he could be able to deduce some sort of weak point within Broly’s savage onslaughts. The Hulk can heal; himself from this, and even if Broly somehow manages to kill the Hulk, which isn’t likely considering stats, the Hulk can just resurrect himself immediately with the Green Door.
So Broly’s boned no matter what way you look at this. In stats, the Hulk smashes him into the ground. In abilities, the Hulk just has better stuff than the poor kid. And the Hulk is just better in a fight. The Devil’s in the finer details just shows how badly Broly gets smashed in this fight, just Saiyan.
The winner is The Hulk.
Whimsly
Fairly short verdict since really I just wanted to feel special by being a part of the season finale blog hooray.
In general I think Broly and Hulk should probably be comparable in stats, at least with what the show is likely to give them. Universal heralds isn’t something that’s been talked about before on DB, but given the same standards that let some other series be universal, it’s probably fine. Hercules lifting the heavens comes to mind as something that’s clear enough to use, and Hulk has some debatable feats on that level as well. You could argue huge upscaling for both, given Dragon Ball multipliers and similar statements for Hulk fighting a being 135x more powerful than Hercules, alongside Green Scar and Devil Hulk both generally mogging heralds. I don’t buy volume scaling for Marvel, since you can’t prove the universe retains the same level of density necessarily and we don’t know irl if an expanding universe “creates more energy” as it gets bigger. It’d be more arguable for Dragon Ball since that cluster does seem to have more stuff in it. On this note I think the argument that incursions destroy the entire Marvel “macrocosm” of Yggdrasil is a little too presumptuous and relies on too many assumptions as a whole with what’s been presented. Similar case for speed, you could question some of the quadrillions stuff being thrown around for Dragon Ball, and I think there’s a case for it, but DB has already accepted the shockwaves for speed, so, eh. Similarly for Marvel, generally most high-end speed feats that the show tends to accept are roughly the same. You could again argue upscaling here, but in general I’d be most comfortable placing them at about equal in stats as a whole.
I think this fight mainly comes down to regen, which Broly can’t really get around. It’s strong enough to let Hulk quickly come back from being blown to bits essentially, which is hard to beat in a scenario where they’re equal in strength. Broly might be more skilled but Hulk has been in way more fights against other people and similarly skilled lads, so you could argue he takes the edge even with Broly’s noted ability to develop. Flight is good but Broly largely fights close-quarters, and Hulk again has plenty of experience fighting against flying opponents. He can also clearly just propel himself through the air by flexing so it seems he has Broly beat.
In any case, the regen realistically is enough for Hulk to beat Broly down over-time, coupled with his crazy stamina and experience, and a lot of the edges Broly brings aren’t stuff Hulk is entirely unfamiliar with, even if nobody in Marvel is exactly throwing around ki blasts while flying around canyons FTE. Even if you want to argue huge multipliers for Broly, Green Scar has some funky scaling to Sentry that you can use to argue him crazy high and such, which would leave Hulk with a huge edge in strength. Hulk STRONGEST THERE IS. Apologies for such a boring verdict happy holidays and happy 10th anniversaryyyyyyyyyyyyyy

The above image is an accurate representation of my expression after Naruto’s record is now 2-5 and Sanji vs Lee wasn’t even that good but at least we get angry boys now
Anyway I hate to do a lackluster verdict but Hulk has this in spades. Stronger, Faster, Tougher, more versatile, haxier, more experienced, etc. I vastly prefer super broly but… my boy does not win this.
Can’t wait for Ant-Man vs Atom in Season 8 baybee
Wolf
I remember way back in the day, I used to have a fan podcast for Death Battle, and we discussed what I am calling the “Angry 5”, the 5 characters who are most well known for their anger (Hulk, Doomsday, Attrocitus, Asura, and Broly), and we generally agreed that Broly is, by far, the weakest of these 5. And boy, over the years, that has only gotten more and more obvious.
First is the fact that, if you decide not to exclude the NLF of Hulk’s strength being theoretically infinite, Broly has no way of hurting Hulk besides maybe overtaxing his healing factor, the same thing that was used as to why Doomsday won against him...Broly doesn’t really have a way of doing that. But even if the NLF isn’t included, Hulk’s stats are still far stronger than anything Broly can do. Just by being able to lift a 150 Billion Ton Mountain as base-form Hulk, he should be able to match up somewhat with Broly. Then there’s World Breaker, who endangers a planet’s mere existence just by being there. So Broly can’t really keep up with him in terms of strength, speed, or durability
But then Immortal Hulk came out, and any chance that Broly had of possibly winning got thrown out the window because not only is Hulk even more powerful, he also has an instant kill move in the form of absorbing Broly’s body into his own like some sort of blob monster, something Broly doesn’t really have the ability to stop in any way. So...yeah, there’s nothing Broly can really do in this scenario to stop Hulk. There’s the reason that Hulk calls himself “Strongest there is”, because that is absolutely true in this case. Hell, someone I know who actually reads comics and is a fan of Death Battle even said that Hulk might even be able to beat Doomsday now (whether or not that’s true, I don’t know). Broly won’t be feeling so Incredible once Hulk is done with him. Point goes to The Hulk

(Let Them Fight.)
The months can indeed fly by, and I was surprised that Christmas is already here. Merry Christmas to everyone for when the blog comes out; I truly hope everyone has a great holiday this year. After taking my second L (5-2-1) after Wally Vs. Sonic’s speedy battle was a great episode; I took a long break to focus on my life. I have just been doing college and enjoying family time despite some lows like Grandma passing away in October, yet I still tried my best to enjoy life with my family and help out. I still can not believe that ten years since Death Battle has aired for the series. Since I was thirteen I discovered Death Battle right before season two started, and have become a fan ever since. During my high school freshman and sophomore, I still remembered writing all Death Battle from the original ScrewAttack site, good times. Besides that, I was surprised like most that Hulk Vs Broly was going to become the Season Finale of Death. I will admit that most people are disappointed that it was not Asura Vs Broly, but I can be safe to tell you that our prediction (Not Perfect and 100% accurate) that Hulk Vs Broly is the perfect matchup. I truly was jaw-dropped with reviewing and researching how strong Hulk is true since his fight with Doomsday and continued to grow in strength. It was also great for the character Broly returning to Dragon Ball with his own movie and remake of his story, which was amazing. I am happy to return one last time for the year to end with a bang because I get to see who would win between fiction’s most angered fighters. The three deciding factors I focused on for this fight will impact how they would fight each other while also using their best effort upon the other is beyond finished.
My three factors will be for this destructive prediction: Stats, Abilities, and Overall Control. Note: I am excluding Green Door, Immortality, and Below Place abilities for my view because I feel that those are exclusive powers and ones that Hulk does not genuinely have. But, it was confirmed that they will be and might be revoked, in my opinion, because of them being limited time and not fit the character. Similar to Cates’ Venom series where Venom became a God, but let’s just start now as we do not need to go back into that.
Round 1: Stats- Let’s get this out of the way right now; Hulk has what it takes to fight Broly head-on for an even matchup. Throughout his series in the comics, he has shown how strong he is, Death Battle not foretold in Hulk’s fight with Doomsday. Hulk has shown to do more than holding a 150 billion ton mountain and destroy planets, as his power alone puts reality in danger. The three best examples were when Hulk destroyed the Time Storm by punching it, which happened, Thunderclapped so hard the shockwaves went through lots of dimensions, and both Hulk channeled two universes of energy when he and Banner split apart. Broly’s is not out though, as he was able to fight Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan God forms in his before going super. Keep in mind that Goku and Vegeta have a better masterly, mostly Goku, over their God forms long after the Beerus clash should have destroyed Universe 7. Even at his Super Saiyan level, he and Gogeta went into another dimension. Strength is close but gives it to Hulk since he showed more broken reality itself a few times on power alone.
Speed hands down go to Broly despite our prediction stating Hulk is “faster”, in my opinion. Keep in mind that Death Battle showed in many episodes that the Marvel Universe speed is scarce when it comes to light speed characters. Hulk has reacted to Mjolnir and the Silver Surfer many times to help keep up which are faster than light, yet nothing that would keep up with speedsters like Sonic or Flash, as examples, that would require his best form to keep up. Broly has better speed thanks to fighting against Frieza, Goku, and Vegeta and reaction speed that also presents in movement to keep up with them. Also, keep in mind especially for Frieza who not only was able to keep up with Goku even in God forms, but also to quickly react to instant transmission after it is used. Yet, Frieza was getting his beatdown from Broly still even in his Golden Form. Since Broly was able to take on all three in his movie, he has already proven many times to keep up with the series’s best fighters in speed, and to me takes the category in speed.
Durability is what makes them essential to their status to me, because of these titans being nearly impossible to take down. Only to get back up and angrier, and this was the tough one to decide upon. Both have tanked powers that rivaled gods and rivaled those who survived, being erased from existence. However, I had to give it to Hulk at the end of the day. This was hard to decide upon because of how reliable Broly scales Frieza, Goku, and Vegeta which they alone all survived Hakai and insane fights. But, so have Hulk and survived insane things daily unlike Broly. Galactus, Thanos, Thor, Silver Surfer, Ghost Rider, The Thing, the list goes on of beings that some even could harm the entire universe and more. While both universes can be argued to be bigger and could counter my view, Hulk has tanked many more fighters that could destroy more than one universe.
Broly was fast and kept up in the stats, but Hulk had enough strength and durability feats to give him the power he needed to take round 1 in Stats.
Round 2: Abilities- While this category was simple in going to abilities, it was tough to decide upon based on the counters Broly and Hulk have to each other. Both can manipulate energy; both get stronger the Angerer they become and have their forms to maximum themselves at full power. Hulk and Broly do have some significant advantages, however, from their own. Hulk still has his healing factor that showed many insane feats of his endurance; the incredible feat was when he healed himself after his matter was ripping out of him. Hulk can also control gamma energy and absorb them even from living things, resulting in a one-shot kill move. Broly, on the other hand, is no pushover either as he is simple yet effective. He is a very skilled warrior in close combat that more skilled fighters like Goku have problems facing the brawler. His adaptability played a significant part in his fight because he planned on and changed his attacks right away. Broly’s important ability is his Ki, the energy of a person’s body, which Broly’s rivals God Ki. Because of this, he can fly, create shields around him, shoot beams, and the rest of the Dragon Ball stuff.
Hulk would easily take this round if it were not for his abilities’ significant flaws that they all rely on his regeneration discussed in Hulk Vs Doomsday. Because of Hulk’s healing factor being the major factor in his strength, it can be overtaxed and risk returning as Banner. While he could gain energy for himself to heal, many times were shown that like Captain America and Thor could overpower him enough, no matter what. Because of Broly having better mobility and power with Ki, I can see him having a significant chance of controlling the match and weakening him enough to finish him off. Hulk was very close to taking the round, but his biggest flaw was enough to give Broly the second round in Abilities.
Final Round: Control- The most crucial round that I think decides the major fight will come from the warrior and their rage. Death Battle has shown that controlling your demons can change the dispute in a significant way, as shown with Ryu Vs. Jin and Sabrewulf Vs. Jon Talbain. Hulk and Broly are known by now the last characters to anger, as there is no going back the moment they go berserk. Broly is a character who shows more of lacking control and accepting his bloodlust in order to destroy anyone in his way. Since the preview of Broly came out and did confirm Kale and Z Broly are used as second sources, I can see it is possible that Broly does have a chance of controlling his rage. The problem for this is that he does not have the mental state of his mind based on his years of survival and training. I just think that Broly’s mind makes it a big flaw to his control of his saiyan rage. Hulk on the other hand mentions that Banner and him always bring a battle of control. There is a reason why Hulk was heavily inspired by Edward Hyde because of his lack of empathy toward others and only focused on his selfish desires. Yet… Hulk did the opposite over time and accepted Banner as his equal, working with him and helping those in need. Hulk’s outcome of controlling his anger and showing his heart is the reason why he is a classic hero in Marvel, and become friends and an important member to the Avengers. Also, his personalities like Devil Hulk truly brings Banner’s mind and Hulk’s brawn that would overall finish Broly most of the time. Hulk’s years in the comics of control and maintaining his anger is why I know he wins in the final round.
In the end, Hulk should win in my view because of him being able to this time using his brute force as a fatal blow. Both fighters truly made this a close fight that could go either way. However, Hulk’s abilities and feats of stats like his healing factor are too big to ignore that would result in Broly being at his limit more time than not. As stated before with every time Dragon Ball appears, Ki has its limits that depend upon the user themselves that even Broly met his match with Gogeta. I feel Hulk has many of his advantages that counters Broly and would be overpowered before he could overtax Hulk. Broly still could win this fight in the actual episode, but to me, I truly think Hulk has the more advantages to finish Broly off overall. Broly might have speed and better abilities, yet Hulk was stronger, durable, and had better control of his rage. You could think that Hulk was just too Incredible to finish off his Broly. Just Saiyan.
That is all for me as it was a blast of being more active for this year’s season of Death Battle and the predictions. I truly had a blast and expanded upon having some of my favorite moments of Death Battle being a part of the predictions. I can not believe that the year is already coming to an end, and I am honored to be a part of ending the year with style. I hope you all enjoy hearing my views and helping out in the prediction. You all have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Stay Awesome.

Legendary Super Saiyan
2020’s been a crazy fucking year, and for me, a terrible one. But we made it. The end of the year. The grand season finale. An age-old matchup. Hulk VS Broly.
I’d be lying if I told you I didn’t think Asura would’ve made for a better episode, and that I didn’t groan when this fight was revealed on Twitter. I concede that this is objectively more thematic. I just think that Broly VS Asura is way more fun, and I don’t really like any of Asura’s other options.
Anyway, I’m really confused about my feelings towards this episode. I always thought Hulk had a great episode with Doomsday and didn’t really need to return, something I still stand by. But seeing him again is cool, I love the guy, and despite my preferences, this is still a good matchup. It should be a great episode and all, but I also find myself just exhausted.
I mean, this is the 50% mark of capes for the season, so the burnout is real. I’m still thinking that this is filler for a more versatile season 8, though. It’s better than shit like Venom vs Crona and Barb vs Gwen, so I’m kinda excited, but I also just wanna get this over with.
Honestly, season 7 has one of the weaker lineups so far in my eyes, especially considering the absolute starvation of video game reps. It really just grouped in a way that it kinda dredged along.
I can at least take solace in the fact that this episode made me read the Immortal Hulk run. That shit is good, I highly recommend it.
So who wins this legacy battle? I’m definitely rooting for the Hulk at least, he’s one of my favorite superheroes.
But first, Sanji vs Rock Lee. It went about as expected, but I’m really surprised they just decided to make 7th and 8th Gate forms for Lee. Anyway, I really liked this episode. All around very solid, tons of fun, though it does have its flaws. A good penultimate.
Now, for the most part, Bruce has many of the peripheral/auxiliary advantages locked down. While Broly may be the better brawler, have better long-ranged options, and possess the ability to fly, none of that is anything new to what Hulk’s faced. Most of this would be a fisticuffs showdown, and Broly’s skill isn’t quite on par with some of Marvel’s super ninjas. Even then, Hulk’s tremendous leaps have just...straight up been flying sometimes. Dude defies gravity by flexing.
In Banner’s corner, things are much harder for ol’ Bro. He’s smarter, more experienced, and, well, freakin’ immortal. Most importantly, he’s got that insane healing factor. The guy can pull himself together from scraps. It’s gonna be incredibly hard to deal any damage that won’t be undone just as soon as it was inflicted.
So if Hulk and Broly were completely equal in stats, the former would surely pull off a hard-fought victory. The Legendary Super Saiyan’s best shot at victory is outstatting the green goliath to a point where none of these advantages matter. Does he?
I’m gonna say no.
First and foremost is their power. Since this is Super Broly, his scaling chain is pretty simple. Scale him to True Blue Goku and Beerus, of course. This would obviously put him at several times Universal, considering those two could destroy something the size of Universe 7, and Beerus and Champa were gonna obliterate their own respective universes. Unfortunately, Broly himself doesn’t have too much in the way of feats. But he does upscale from those nutty shockwaves.
Hulk has a ton of really good feats. He’s pretty good at busting up universes. In his case, the Marvel universe is many times bigger than that of Universe 7, whether you want to use the “trillions of lightyears” or “infinite universe” statements, or the realms.
At the core, it would seem Hulk has the strength advantage. However, while both these characters can raise their power levels, they have very different methods. Hulk has a constant rise that is established many times to not have any discernible end, while Broly has big boosts in power in spontaneous helpings, but they do have a limit. So Broly’s power increases are more accessible and drastic immediately while Hulk’s are constant, over time, and never-ending...unless his hypothalamus is burnt out.
I do have to consider how strong Broly could be when he just juices himself up to the max. Using the 9x figure and extrapolating results from Dragon Ball multipliers, you could get yourself a ludicrously high number of universes. Now, I’m incredibly iffy on this, since it yields such an absurd number and really fucks with the powerscaling. Honestly, the only multipliers that don’t seem sketchy to me are the Kaio-ken ones. But for the sake of giving Broly his best shot, let’s go with that.
Even then, Hulk would have the microverse, potential Skyfather scaling, and several “infinite universe” statements to back him, which would make him far stronger still. I am by no means saying Hulk has infinite strength, but it’s a case you could make if you wanna be very generous to both sides and go balls to the wall with stats. Given the same leeway, he’d have more than enough power to outmuscle Broly, even with the latter’s immediate gains. Hulk could get angrier and angrier, creating a larger gap since, again, his cap isn’t defined. I’m giving this category to the Incredible Hulk.
After that, speed. Now, if Hulk was a DC herald, there would be no debate surrounding this. *laugh track*
Anyway, it’s as simple as this. If we just stick to the shockwaves Goku and Beerus created, and scale Broly to that, he’d be notably slower. Scaling to the likes of Thor and Hermes definitely outdo it, and it’s probably the best figure we can make for Broly. Of course, if you once again use multipliers in a literal sense, which can be very inconsistent, you could also be generous to Banner, using microverse speeds and infinite universe shit. In either situation, Hulk is faster. To be fair, though, Broly can fly a lot faster than Hulk can run.
Broly sure is tough, but he doesn’t quite have the same chops as Oscar the Grouch. He can eat hits from God Mode Saiyans, and even an ultra powerful fusion, sure, but the other big guy can withstand assaults from Sentry and the Silver Surfer, who can both rival Celestials. And we all know those guys are absolutely fuckin’ busted. On a related note, Hulk has INSANE stamina, so if this became a battle of attrition, he’d take it.
So, taking a look at the stat trinity, in just about every situation, it appears Hulk is stronger, faster, and tougher. This isn’t even talking about his other attributes, like the Green Door, Gamma absorption, and various resistances. He’s ridiculously more haxxed. The few advantages Broly DOES collect are pretty miniscule in comparison. Even if we made these reality-breaking monsters immeasurable in their physicality, Hulk would still have all those extra things backing him.
There are a lot of hoops and hurdles with Hulk scaling, do not get me wrong. Him clapping away The One Below All is pretty contentious. But the gist of everything I’m trying to say is: given equal leeway, Hulk’s far longer history and multitude of high-end arguments nab him an edge. Hopefully, this means we can kick off Marvel’s first winning streak in years. Hell, it’d be a pretty big power move, considering Dragon Ball’s current reign. It’s like the opposite of Naruto these days.
That’s all I have to say. No matter how you slice it, I can’t see an outcome that isn’t the Hulk winning. He held the Ki to the Green Door of victory.
Man the track for this one sounds fucking awesome, very intrigued to see how this all goes down
This year of blogs may be over, but check out the stuff we’ll be doing during the seasonal break. It’s been lots of fun working with the guys throughout this season, and I’m definitely gonna be around for the season 8 blogs, best believe that. Can’t wait for what’s in store. Fingers crossed for Cole vs Alex fuck you guys

I hath become that which I hath sworn to eliminate.
Separayath got into Super Smash Brothers Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch on December 12th, 2020, as a sort of nice capstone to a really shitty year.
Nintendo once again proves their tone-deaf nature.
I have one semester of college left.
And an angry berserker is going to bite the dust.
All in all, an interesting couple weeks.
Oh, and since other people are giving their takes on this, Sanji vs Lee was...fine. Not horrible, not great, it was just kind of average. But it did get me to start reading One Piece. At the moment I’m on Whiskey Peak, if you were wondering, but cut me some slack, I only started the day before I’m writing this (Dec. 19).
Really, on the topic of Broly, there were only two matchups one could realistically expect, this or Asura. And while Asura would have brought a new series into the show and had its own interesting dynamic, reading Immortal Hulk has made me realize that this specific version of Broly has a lot more in common thematically with Hulk than Asura. Immortal Hulk is also a really interesting storyline in general you wouldn’t expect for someone like Hulk, but I’m glad it exists and gave us Spider-Hulk.
But you know, there is still an actual debate behind all this, so let’s get into that.
I guess starting off with the general statistics, since Super Broly is likely going to be the one focused on in the episode, it’s what I’m going to focus on here. Z-Broly doesn’t really have any advantages over the original in this category, since he doesn’t even really scale higher than Z-Broly in speed, due to not being very high in that scaling chain compared to someone like Omega Shenron for example. And, well, I highly doubt they’re going to put the glorified fanfiction that is Broly Dark or Legendary Super Saiyan 4 Broly in this episode, because frankly they sound like things that should be in the Dragon Ball Heroes anime by this point (they’re not, I checked).
Super Broly obviously is heavily, heavily, HEAVILY upscaling from Super Saiyan God Goku in the Battle of Gods saga, whose clashes with Beerus were threatening to destroy Universe 7. Universe 7 consists of multiple universe-sized spaces, like the normal realm, Otherworld, Hell, Heaven, and the Kaioshin realm. Personally I don’t consider this particular feat Low Multiversal though, as all these dimensions are still in the same space-time continuum, but it is an extremely high-end Universal feat, and it’s only the beginning. If we take Goku face value at his words, Broly is also on par with, or potentially superior to, Beerus, whose clash with the Universe 6 God of Destruction Champa would have destroyed both Universe 6 and 7. You can interpret this as potentially a Low Multiversal feat for Beerus solo or only combined with Champa, since it’s never been shown that Beerus has enough power to destroy two universes on his own, but it is at least a Universal+ to possibly Low Multiversal feat for Broly to scale to. And, well...that’s sort of it. A lot of Broly is based on scaling to other characters due to the general lack of material he’s found himself in. He is in FighterZ, but he doesn’t have anything to do with that game’s story, and the feats found within it are strictly worse than the scaling in the movie itself.
Speed is sort of a similar case where a lot of it is just scaling to other characters. Namely Beerus, who either scales to the speed of his own shockwaves at over 200 quadrillion times the speed of light, or his casual speed traveling to a distant planet at 72 quadrillion times the speed of light. Either way quadrillions c is pretty consistent for Broccoli man. Granted, I don’t know if I agree with any values for Broly that put him even remotely close to Whis, seeing as Whis obviously blitzes Broly with total ease, and Whis hasn’t demonstrated any higher values for speed after the one where he said he was going his fastest, but other people are considering it so might as well.
Moving on to Hulk, he actually has a surprising amount of parallels with Broly in terms of stats. Like Broly, he also scales to characters who have caused universal destruction with their clashes, such as Thor, and has even caused universal destruction himself with his Thunderclap. He even has a feat of surviving the energy needed to destroy two universes, kind of like Broly. The main difference here is the size of the spaces being affected. While the Dragon Ball universes are apparently about 8 to 40 times the size of our universe, the Marvel universe is a trillion light years in diameter at minimum, making it 100 times the size of our universe, and significantly bigger than the Dragon Ball universes. So any feats of universe busting in Marvel are naturally going to be more impressive than those in Dragon Ball. And while there are characters in Dragon Ball Super who can shake and distort infinite dimensions with their power, the Marvel universes have also been stated numerous times to be infinite in size, with the same universe busting applied to them, still putting them a league above the Dragon Ball universe busting. This isn’t even discussing Hulk shaking infinite dimensions with his power, which is definitely above anything in Dragon Ball Super at least. This also applies to speed, since all the major Marvel speed feats easily reach into the quintillions and sextillions lightspeed range, with even the possibility of Infinite/Immeasurable speed from certain sources, which is definitely enough to outspeed Broly several times over.
And to address the whole thing with multipliers, while it’s true that Broly’s actual scaling chain could be quantified with their usage, the problem is that outside of the Kaio-Ken and potentially the Oozaru, all the multipliers have been inconsistent in the actual amount that they increase stats by, mainly in some scenarios where Toriyama admitted to changing them for the sake of style points. That, and power levels have long been abandoned as a reliable concept in Dragon Ball to begin with, so multipliers are sort of meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Using Kaio-ken is probably fine, but that alone, even alongside the 50x power boost of Super Saiyan, probably wouldn’t stack up to Hulk anyway given the huge Marvel universe sizes.
So, in terms of the boring stat stuff, Hulk generally outshines Broly in all categories. Fine. Saiyans naturally have a tendency to adapt and become more proficient as they continue fighting so mayyyyyybe Broly could somehow rise up to the level of being able to beat Hulk, right?
Well, probably not.
You’d think their abilities would maybe tip things in Broly’s favor, but it honestly just pushes it further towards Hulk. Broly is not a character like Beerus or Janemba or even Hearts, where he has some good hax that could work on stronger opponents. No, Broly falls more in line with the standard Dragon Ball philosophy of just making characters be able to blow up bigger things as a progression marker. Broly does have some good techniques like God Bind and shattering space-time boundaries, but that’s really the extent of what you can classify as hax for him.
Hulk, meanwhile, has his crazy good regeneration from being able to reform himself from a few scattered isolated body parts and organs, he can absorb people into his body, he can drain gamma from opponents to suck away their life force while boosting his own power, and he can constantly boost his strength as the fight continues just by...getting angry. And while regeneration on Hulk’s level has been bypassed in Dragon Ball by just hitting the opponent hard enough, Broly is not strong enough to do that in this instance. And even if he did, it probably wouldn’t work.
It’s sort of hard to tell if this is going to be a factor in the fight, but considering the Death Battle team is putting an emphasis on Devil Hulk here (who is sort of dead atm but let’s disregard that), it should be noted that Hulk has access to the Green Door. This sort of turns the fight into a complete uphill battle for Broly, as even if he somehow managed to kill Hulk, there’s a very real chance that Hulk will just pop right back from the Below-Space good as new, essentially resetting Broly’s progress to zero and making it that much easier for Hulk to win, especially when combined with the gamma absorption.
The only conceivable way I could really see Broly taking this is if he dragged the fight out long enough to bring it into the sunlight, potentially reverting Hulk back into Bruce Banner and allowing Broly to land a fatal blow. But not only is this sort of countered by the Green Door, but Hulk has also worked to circumvent this limitation, and can now appear in sunlight more easily. It still isn’t preferable, but he absolutely would ignore that in a fight like this, and he would still have a major stat advantage over Broly with no way for Broly to work around that. There is also vaporizing Hulk, as returning from that typically takes a lot longer for Gamma Mutates, but it would require Broly being far stronger than Hulk going by past Dragon Ball villains, so it’s probably not going to happen.
Both characters are obscenely powerful, there is no denying that. But in this fight, Hulk will likely prove that he truly is “the strongest there is”. There’s really no Bro-leeway to be given here, sadly, Hulk just wins.
Also better hope that Hulk doesn’t get the feats from being possessed by The One Below All, considering at that point he could kill both Franklin Richards and Galactus who are DEFINITELY above Broly.
Oh, and, hopefully Season 8 has a much more rich and diverse roster of fights, some good animations, and has the flair it needs to really scream “celebration”. Can’t wait.
Anyway gonna comment “DO RYUGA VS FRIEZA PLZ” with a Broly pfp when the episode comes out.
The Draconic Hero
(Nothing can stop this Dark Hero)
...Imma start by saying that these past few weeks have been utterly tumultuous and full of discussion. I went into this matchup thinking that Broly would stomp, no questions asked. Hulk couldn’t possibly actually be infinite...right?
Well, turns out, I was wrong. Hulk really does have no upward limit. This turns this matchup into a race against the clock. If Hulk has no limit and Broly’s strength is ungodly. (I have done so much math that makes his power ranking utterly absurd), then it really boils down to one question: Can Broly kill Hulk before Hulk reaches a power level--and by extension durability--far beyond anything Broly can dish out? Because if Hulk has no limit and Broly has definitive limits, then we need to examine the possibility of Broly defeating Hulk before he exceeds Broly’s limit.
At first glance, this looks like Superman Vs Goku. Goku has limits. Superman doesn’t. Therefore the guy with no limits wins. However, this is a little more complicated than that. Superman’s power isn’t just from sunlight, but from holding back less and less. Goku also has more transformations that let him keep up with the Man of Steel little by little.
Broly, by comparison, has decided to shatter those rules and say “Imma be on par with God Goku at the start of the match”. And Hulk’s response? BEING HULK!
The unjoly green giant can match people like Thor even without going into modes like Worldbreaker or Devil Hulk and is arguably just as fast with minimal adrenaline. This leads me to my next point.
In this battle, given how ridiculously powerful these two are, similarly to Wally Vs Sonic, strength is really a non-factor--for them it was speed. Speed is where this matchup is the most crucial. If Broly cannot maintain a healthy speed advantage over Hulk right at the get go. And Broly certainly does hold a speed advantage over Hulk...in Super Saiyan not in base. This, of course, assumes Death Battle won’t just say “Hulk is as fast as Thor whose hammer moves at 100x billion times light speed.” Because here’s the thing, if Hulk’s power has no limit, his speed should have no limit too. Why? Because of how his powers work.
Adrenaline pumping through your veins is responsible for not only strength, but also movement and reflexes. Therefore, as Hulk gets stronger, he also gets faster and the speed at which he gets faster is accelerated by his healing factor. In essence, the faster Hulk is, the faster his healing factor is, which means he can get even stronger faster. In essence, Hulk is running on a very slow moving parabola, while Broly is working on a linear graph with limited, sharp bursts...that will eventually taper off after taking too much damage.
Hulk’s healing factor is really what’s going to save his ass here. That and also being way more experienced and intelligent as well. To say nothing of Hulk’s hax--quite frankly he would need to win already and they just help him win more. Broly, if he was strong enough, could simply vaporize Hulk, which he would need to do to win anyway--Hulk can pretty much square up on Broly fist to fist, muscle to muscle and still take the W.
And keep in mind, up until the 21st of this month, I was sure Broly would win. Now, thanks to some discussions on the blog and using my analytical brain, I’ve decided that Hulk holds more advantages and can and will outlast Broly’s onslaught before eventually turning the tide and making poor Cheelai weep.
Oh well, at least the Dragon Balls are a thing!
UPDATE: Saw the preview. It pretty much doesn’t look like Broly is holding the early game advantage, which means both fighters are going to keep amping it up until one of them croaks. And while the animation is hardly anything to base a judgment on, Law of Conservation of Detail and just knowing what would have to be true for Broly to win pretty much tells me that Hulk’s likely got this lined up for a victory.
Broly’s power might be maximum, but against Bruce Banner, he’s fighting at an incredibly hulking disadvantage and will drop the dragon ball when it matters most, allowing Hulk to muscle his way to victory.
The winner is Doctor Bruce Banner!

I hope I don't run out of fan-art of this NES one off character
Hulk vs Broly has secretly been one of the matchups I really liked and thought it would be cool, but I didn't expect it to actually happen, since it seemed likely that Broly vs Asura could happen and Thor vs Vegeta also seemed more popular, which basically just fills this niche. I am pleasantly surprised that this was the matchup they went with, though I do wish that they did it a bit later. Marvel Heralds have been under a lot of revision and fluctuation as of late, and we only came to a real consensus very recently, which feeds into one of my worries about this matchup.
These are both characters that I adore and think they are really cool. The Dragon Ball Super Broly movie was great, but I have literally been a fan of Marvel properties since I was around 3 years old. Dragon Ball also got a good win with Beerus vs Galaxia, while Marvel hasn't really won any really debated or close matchups since like, Ghost Rider vs Lobo? Point is, I am heavily rooting for Hulk here, but I still very much like Broly.
For this prediction, I will be going over multiple categories that I believe to be important to this matchup, and explain my thoughts on each of them, as well as address potential counter arguments.
How large is the Marvel universe?
Have you ever heard about how DC's universe is actually billions of times larger than our own observable universe? Well, Marvel has its own version of that. The Marvel universe is at least a trillion lightyears in diameter, when you adjust said diameter to volume it is 1224x the size of our own observable universe. This, obviously, affects feats that involve the entire universe.
UPDATE: The Marvel universe is actually a macrocosm consisting of ten different universes with similar size carried by Yggdrasil, all that exist in the 616 universe, which is important to take into account for later.
Does Hulk even scale to universal feats in the first place?
A battle between Thor and Hercules could destroy the heavens, and here Hercules is, supporting the weight of the entire universe for three hours. Thor survived an explosion rivaling the big bang, generated enough force to rival the big bang, and blocked the life bomb, which would have destroyed ⅕ of the universe. Hulk himself has destroyed the Nightcrawler's universe, and even channeled enough energy to destroy two universes, increasing him to 2448x universal. This is supported by his scaling to Hyperion, who survived the incursion of two universes and Silver Surfer containing enough energy to destroy two universes.
UPDATE: Hyperion's feat was the result of the incursion, an event that collides universes classified by their number. All the realms of Marvel are still referred to as Earth-616, which means that he actually survived two macrocosms of ten universes colliding, each individually more than a thousand times larger than our observable universe. This would cause the overall potency to be 24,480x our observable universe.
Just because it has that much space doesn't mean it has that much mass
The scan clearly states that there are planets a trillion lightyears away, which means that for this scenario to be true, it can't be because of empty expansion space, but must be due to a very odd makeup of the universe that is disproportionately more void than our own. At that point, Occam's razor should side with the Marvel universe being proportionately the same, given we know that it has mass on the edge of the trillion lightyears.
The Marvel universe is expanding, so couldn't it have been smaller when he had these universal feats?
I thought this argument was sort of odd. As I mentioned previously, there are planets a trillion lightyears away in diameter, and I find it highly unlikely that these planets formed in that expanded space in the time since any of the universal feats happened. Additionally, the events in which the trillion lightyear statement takes place was actually millions of years ago, so if anything, this just means that the universe is likely larger.
Volume scaling assumes the universe is a sphere. Can you prove the Marvel universe is spherical?
Midgard is depicted as being a sphere here, here and here
Isn't the Marvel universe infinite in size?
There is an abundance of infinite Marvel universe size statements that you could use if you choose to. I have some personal issues with using them, however.
Getting the obvious argument out of the way, a plethora of statements here could very easily be hyperbolic. The counter to this has usually been the repetition of these statements or the reliability of these sources, but this holds zero actual bearing on whether speech is figurative. Many comics that deal with cosmic or mythical topics tend to use flowery language, and one of the definitions for infinite is literally just "very large".
Additionally, there is evidence to the contrary. The universe is both expanding and has a physical edge, which is far more blatant and less susceptible to interpretation than any of the infinite statements I have seen. I understand that some people may not like rejecting an argument that has a lot of apparent evidence, but the thing with these kinds of arguments is that they imply a massive change in physical attributes that should have a very hard standard to justify. When there are contradictions to such an idea, it becomes difficult for me to really accept it, as cool as Marvel heralds being equal to or superior than DC heralds in strength would be.
Can Hulk scale any higher?
Hulk is a character whose power is in fluctuation, similar to Superman, and at his peak he can far exceed the average Marvel herald. We can actually calculate a theoretical cap to The Hulk's potential, Pandora's Box. Pandora's Box is 133.45x stronger than Hercules, and if we were to assume Hercules scales to 2448x universal as other heralds, then that makes its overall potency 326,685.6x universal. Hulk managed to take a hit from and absorb Pandora's Box, giving him this scaling. Now, this is admittedly from Green Scar Hulk, however it was not at all his full potential, as he was holding back during this time. Given Devil Hulk can absorb a shard of Nyx, which can kill Zeus, who should be far beyond Hercules and Pandora's Box, Devil Hulk could scale to suppressed Green Scar and the 133.45x multiplier.
UPDATE: Using the macrocosm interpretation of the incursion feat, this multiplier could actually bring Hulk up to 3,266,856x uni, more than 3 million times more than our own universe.
How fast is The Hulk?
Hulk is similar to Thor in speed, who can travel across universes in moments (Asgard and Midgard are connected universes, so yes this is a speed feat and not hax), and there are multiple other speed feats similar to this. The quickest speed feat I have found was when Venus travelled between Olympus and Earth in less than a minute before being noticed, which makes heralds capable of moving 3 quintillion times the speed of light, possibly higher. If you wished to apply the previous multiplier to this, then Hulk's speed could theoretically equal 400.35 quintillion times the speed of light.
How should the Green Door work?
The Green Door allows The Hulk to come back after death. He is able to revive instantly as seen here. Recently there has been an argument that being vaporized would cause Hulk to take longer, because that is what happened with the Leader, but I don't believe that is true. The Green Door works by Banner's soul crossing the Below Place and re-manifesting through the Green Door, it makes no logical sense for his bodily wounds to affect that. The likeliest scenario here is that Hulk just has a much better connection to the Green Door than the Leader. We see that, with more usage of the door, Hulk comes back quicker than before. It is unlikely that being vaporized will put Hulk down for very long.
How good is Hulk's normal regeneration?
Pretty good. Even without the Green Door, Hulk has come back from being reduced to a skeleton and being sliced up and put away into different jars. He's a pretty tough guy to kill.
How large is the Dragon Ball universe?
The Dragon Ball macrocosm is 135.92 billion lightyears, when using the volume of a sphere we can find it is a little over 3x larger than our observable universe. However, Death Battle placed Beerus at 9x universal, and I expect the same treatment for Broly.
Does Broly even scale to universal feats in the first place?
Can Broly scale any higher?
This is where Broly gets a little tricky. While Dragon Ball characters have achieved universal status long ago, they haven't actually had many concrete feats that put them above that status. However, for Broly in particular, there are a couple of things we can do to make up for this.
Multipliers in Dragon Ball in specific are fairly notorious, however with no other option we must take what we can get, otherwise Broly would be put at a power level that would severely dampen his true level of strength.
First off, we do know one multiplier that should be completely legitimate, the kaio ken multiplier. Goku uses kaio ken in conjunction with his super saiyan blue form, to achieve ssbkk, which magnifies his power, the highest of which has been up to 20x. Now, Goku never actually used the kaio ken technique against Broly, however the Broly movie has a mixed canon that includes both the Dragon Ball Super anime and the manga. In the manga, Goku never used kaio ken in conjunction with his super saiyan blue form. Instead, what he did was use a perfected version of his blue form, which had the same narrative effects as ssbkk. Given that Goku has undergone a lot of training since the beginning of Dragon Ball Super, it makes sense to scale Broly to this multiplier, thus increasing his power output to 180x our observable universe.
During their fight, Goku and Vegeta were so overwhelmed by Broly that they had to use the fusion technique to defeat him. Gogeta is definitely stronger than Broly, but given how he managed to keep up with him to some extent and that Goku and Vegeta had no other option but to use a technique that more than added their power together, it should also be fine to use a 2x multiplier at the very least for Broly, to which he comes in at 360x our observable universe.
I highly recommend only doing this as a massive highball, but if you wanted to be safe and throw Broly a bone here, you can give him the super saiyan multiplier of 50x, which could theoretically place him at 18,000x our observable universe.
Why not more multipliers?
The super saiyan 50x multiplier has never been specified in any primary material, as far as I'm aware of. It comes from secondary or tertiary sources such as guides, which aren't the best indicator for how powerful these characters are meant to be. This made me very hesitant to apply this to Broly at all, but I have other reasons why I kept it to one super saiyan multiplier.
First off, we should be aware that treading too deeply into this multiplier game leads into the danger of calc stacking and allowing these characters to be far above anything they have ever had to show that they accomplished before. I know that this may not get across the best here where we are just comparing how many observable universes they can destroy, but applying similar standards that have been pushed for these multipliers to say a town level character and making them continental because of similar circumstances would be very overlooking of the fact that this character who is consistently town level has never had to show any feats even remotely suggesting he could destroy a continent, and thus you are judging this verse not by what they have shown to be capable of doing but rather what random numbers being thrown out with no regard for plot consistency could extrapolate them to.
Additionally, I always found base goku suddenly being as powerful as ssg and the multipliers he has otherwise to be thematically odd. If that were to be the case, then shouldn't Goku far exceed Beerus in his later transformations? I know Beerus held back, but he must have still been impressed to some degree by Goku's abilities. If Goku were really hundreds of millions of times stronger now, it's difficult to see Beerus finding anything interesting about him in the beginning of Super at all, since he still has yet to equal Beerus under normal circumstances.
I find it more likely that the transformation increases are not proportionate, and that as Goku grew stronger his transformations became more additive. That isn't to say that his transformations didn't improve as a result of his base form improving as well, that is pretty well known. However it does mean that they didn't stay on a constant scale. Earlier transformations, such as Super saiyan 1, 2 and 3 are harder to justify giving them multipliers on top of base goku being universal, it would massively inflate results. As we have seen in the tournament of power, Super saiyan god still gives Goku an increase in power, however it doesn't have as drastic an effect as it did before.
Broly's own Super saiyan form, as well as matching two super saiyan blue saiyans before hand however, does justify some level of upscaling, so I decided to include the high end Super saiyan multiplier which has questionable validity, despite my ideological concerns.
Also, while the Gogeta fusion does make them stronger than a 2x increase, we don't know exactly how much stronger it is. Trying to hypothesize a theoretical to it would be very head canon-y.
Since Earth is at the edge of the universe, couldn't the potency be higher?
I will give credit where credit is due, this is a pretty unique argument, and I can tell that a lot of time went into calculating this. However, I do have some issues with it.
First of all, it makes the assumption that Earth is on the edge of the right side of the universe. If it were to be on the left side, then it would actually be closer to the kai's realm, and thus make this method redundant. The evidence used to support Earth being on the edge of the right side of the universe is this map which shows the Earth on the right side of the universe. One of the more obvious observations I made out of this is that this map shows the Earth is not actually at the edge of the universe, so I find it odd that people use this as supporting evidence even though it contradicts the main premise.
I brought up a point arguing that this doesn't even completely prove that the Earth is on the right side of the universe. If the map depicted the macrocosm from a different angle, then that would completely flip the Earth's position. An argument against this was that as King Kai's planet was on the same side, this proves the Earth is on the right side.
I don't see how the shockwaves reaching a certain distance to begin with means that it is carrying universe destroying power all the way through. Much of this area is just an empty void, and it is stated that the shockwaves get more destructive the farther away they are from the center. This could imply that most of its energy was being spread out instead of being a constant wave of the universe destroying energy, which would also explain why it didn't immediately destroy the universe and why it would happen after multiple attacks. I mean, we kind of know this to be the case, since this is the reason commonly given for why the Earth was not destroyed. My point being that we don't know if all the energy being generated by the shockwave was universal in nature, we just know it would have eventually destroyed the universe.
How fast is Broly?
Scaling to the universal shockwaves, Broly could potentially reach 410 quadrillion times the speed of light. However, if we chose to use multipliers for his speed, using kaio ken he could reach 8.2 quintillion times the speed of light. Add the Gogeta multiplier to that, and Broly could even get to 16.4 quintillion times the speed of light. And if we wanted to really make him super fast and add the super saiyan multiplier to that, he could potentially scale to 820 quintillion times the speed of light, but keep in mind again this is a highball.
Who has more tactical, intelligence, skill and experience edges?
Broly was trained by his father Paragus, a saiyan warrior, all his life and comes from a series about martial arts. Now you'd think he would have the edge here against a beast that is known for mindless smashing, but then you remember that he's a comic character, and even The Hulk has to be a super genius because of that sole fact. Even if Broly is slightly older, he was left marooned on a deserted planet with no one to fight but his father and some weird animals. Hulk on the other hand, has been on a plethora of adventures, fought all sorts of people, has been in many hero organizations and has accomplished many more achievements in his life.
Broly is no strategist, and was just extremely bloodthirsty in his fight with Goku and Vegeta. Now you think that would apply to the Hulk as well, but not this Hulk. Devil Hulk is far more cunning and tactful, without losing any of his monstrous strength. I know that these attributes aren't always super important in a fight, but given how similarly Broly fights to savage Hulk, I don't doubt that Devil Hulk could stay in control of the fight with his superior intelligence, experience and skill.
Final comparisons and thoughts
Hulk:

High End:
326,685.6x Uni
400.35 Quintillion x FTL
High-High End:
3,266,856x Uni
Broly:
Low End:
9x Uni

Mid End:
360x Uni
16.4 Quintillion x FTL
High End:
18,000x Uni
820 Quintillion x FTL
So as you can see from my ends, this isn't really a good look for Broly. Hulk is consistently much stronger than Broly regardless of the leeway given to both. Now I understand that deciding how powerful characters should be is a little more specific than that, but my point with this is that it's going to be more difficult to argue for Broly than it would be for Hulk.
Interestingly enough however, Broly maintains a somewhat consistent speed edge over Hulk, if you applied multipliers. That, along with his range and mobility advantages, could allow him to prolong the fight to be longer than it normally should. Broly however, is definitely not a keep away fighter, and Hulk's greater intelligence will help ensure that this doesn't last.
Additionally, I'm not entirely convinced that Broly could even kill Hulk for any prolonged period of time. The Green Door plus his own regeneration would negate any progress Broly could potentially make, his best chance is to just be so much more powerful than Hulk that he can instantly vaporize him, and then go with the interpretation Hulk would take longer to come back from that to give Broly a pseudo victory, and I have a tough time imagining Death Battle selling that as an argument to the majority of people.
In order for Broly to win, you have to give him the benefit of the doubt on a lot of issues, as well as flat out ignore implications that the universal feats in Marvel could actually be more potent than our own observable universe. Just by following a basic scale of over extended credits given to them, Hulk should edge out a win. This is all while ignoring the implications of higher states of Hulk matching sky fathers, in which case there is very little you could reasonably do for Broly.
If you have read my other predictions, you would know that in spite of how convinced I am of who should win in my mind, I am a very paranoid person. This isn't without reason, as Death Battle has been very unpredictable, and it's exceedingly rare for them to use the exact same argument as the G1 blog, even if we reach the same basic conclusion. There is a very easy opportunity for Broly to win here.
The main argument for volume scaling Marvel, which has been Hulk's main anchor to victory, only became an argument several months ago, and I introduced the macrocosm argument to the G1 blog literally days ago. I'm not saying they couldn't have realized and come to these conclusions without them being mainstream yet, but it does show a level of uncertainty to their opinions on these topics that isn't as large as it is for Broly, whose stats we pretty much know in the eyes of Death Battle, and is likely to only be larger.
Broly has a much more concrete consensus than Hulk does, whose arguments are fairly new to the mainstream. However, I can't think of any actually adequate arguments against them either, in reverse. Think of it this way; Hulk is fighting an uphill battle against Broly, but he is riding a jet up that hill. With all that said, here is my verdict for the season finale of Death Battle season 7.
The Winner is the Incredible, Immortal Hulk
Jedi Bender
FINALLY IT'S HERE!
The matchup we’ve been waiting 10 years for is upon us Hulk vs Broly, not gonna lie I’ve always wanted this to happen in some way or another S7 hasn’t really compared to S6 however most of the fights have kicked ass so why not end it on a Really Big Finale
(will this top All Might vs Guy? Most likely but I think their just stand side by side as THE best Season Finales of All time)
alright no more padding let’s get down to brass tacks and OHHHHHHH BOY this fight isn’t as a close or even as you think which was my only disappointment as I love really close fights that get ya thinking
first things first Broly’s biggest advantages is his mobility, Ki Attacks, Transformations, and Martial prowess these are what made him a dangerous threat to Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza. in all honesty he’s gonna give our favorite Green Beast a much difficult time really making Hulk have to work for the W
HOWEVER Hulk can/Will overcome this hard fought battle sure Broly has ways of keeping him back from a distance unfortunately these aren’t exactly anything He’s seen before then you throw in Devil Hulk/ Immortal Hulk Good Boi Broly hasn’t got any chance in Hell you’ve seen for yourself in our analysis Bruce’s newest persona essentially makes Doomsday Blush not only does he have the intelligence of Banner but even more crazy Healing abilities
(like In an instance where Devil Hulk was like a Vampire where he could only be Hulk in the night and Bruce during the Day Bruce was actually killed/Ripped apart. then when night came his limbs came back to him puppet style)
I should also bring up Immortal Hulk beat Super Satan who’s pretty much a cloud of Hell, so yea sorry Broly Ur gonna put up one hell of a fight maybe even take off a limb or two but there’s absolutely nothing much you can do against The Green Devil looks like Marvel is ironically gonna end off S7 with their win streak in tact...
DEVIL HULK FTW
Phantom Falcon
Hulk vs Broly, yadda yadda yadda 50% cape shit this season, wish they toned it down but whatever, animation seems hype as fuck and the music is godly, I think it’ll be a good episode. Anyways I’m pretty sure Hulk’s gonna win the episode, but I’m going to be devil’s advocating for Broly since I like him more (Hulk’s great in his own right doe), and I love Dragon Ball. Do keep that in mind for this verdict. I do think you can make a pretty good case for him regardless.
So first things first, we need to talk about Hulk, and Marvel in general, since he is definitely way more complex and debatable in stats than the latter is (which, duh, mans had 60 years of content). To start out with, we know the Marvel universe has a stated diameter of 1 trillion light years. Given how the universe is shown to be spheres, the sphere volume of this universe would be 1224x bigger than our own observable universe, making it solidly baseline multiversal in order to destroy it. And Hulk’s got plenty of Uni feats and Uni scaling. Him channeling the power of two universes and Hyperion surviving Incursion being the most blatant ones. This would solidly be 2448x universal for Hulk’s overall AP and durability. What about higher stuff doe? Infinite universe? Incursion possibly being higher? Well, frankly, I can't say I really buy them. The Marvel universe does have a lot of infinite universe statements, but imma be real, aside from a few of them, these really just seem like blatant hyperbole to me. But even then, we clearly see the Marvel universe has a visible edge, which is way more blatant and visible then just statements of saying it’s “muh infinite”. The fact that it’s still constantly expanding leads me to believe that nah, probably not infinite. As for the arguments for Hyperion’s feat being higher, well, can’t really say I buy them. Incursion’s whole thing is that it just destroys 2 universes. Not literally all the realms in the 616 universe shown by the Yggdrasil (The nine realms, by cosmology document) are being destroyed, at least I haven’t seen evidence pointing to that. It’s an interesting and fair assumption I’ll admit, but it’s one that lacks enough evidence for me to personally say I can agree with it. Speed is next, and I think Hulk is way slower than people give credit for. The Venus feat that gets sextillions c is weird honestly, we have a direct statement from the comic itself that she only traveled millions of light years, which should take precedence. Assuming 100 million light years and a timeframe of 13 milliseconds, we’re getting solidly 242 quadrillion c. Rather consistent with Hermès universe crossing in seconds (personally I favor the 30 seconds version, but 10 seconds is def reasonable). Add that with Mjolnir consistently crossing universal distances, and boom, solidly high quad c to low quint c Hulk.
Broly is a pretty weird one, since we have multiple interpretations of how to measure the macrocosm’s size. However, we know Death Battle had it at 9x universal via volume scaling (as a lowball mind you), so I’ll stick to that version. What now? Well, you can technically increase the values of the macrocosm destruction to a significant degree. The explanation is in the document I linked. But why am I treating as if Earth is on the edge? Well, given how we see on the official map that Earth is indeed roughly on the edge, and how Bulma states it's at the edge, I think it's a fair idea to do that. Even if you disagree with using Death Battles version, if you treat the mortal realm as a hemisphere in this calc, and use the same px measurements in the calc to get the distance from the edge to the Kai Realm, you end up with roughly 124x universal. So 124x as a lowball, 661x as a highball. Still not enough to match Hulk though right? Well, maybe. It would depend on your stance on multipliers for Dragon Ball. However, I think at the very minimum, one multiplier is definitely legit: the Kaioken. The Daizenshuu supports that the Kaioken is a literal multiplier, and in Goku’s fight with Hit, he reiterates that it is indeed a genuine multiplier (16:50). The maximum Goku has used is a Kaioken x20 combined with his SSB form. While one may question scaling this to Broccoli as Goku didn’t use Kaioken in his fight with him, given how he never even thought about using it, and the Super Broly movie is in a weird spot of being canon to both the anime and the manga, the latter of which has Perfected SSB, which is essentially the same thing as SSBKK, I think it’s fair to give Broly this multiplier. Also, given how at his best, he was capable of overpowering SSJ Gogeta, which we know for a fact that fusion isn’t just a 2x multiplier, I think it’s fair that, for a lowball, we multiply Broly’s SSBKKx20 multiplier by 2, which means that for a lowball, Broly is about 4960x universal, and at a highball, 26440x universal (I’d favor the lowball personally). As for speed, Broly far upscales beyond the shockwaves caused during Goku and Beerus’ clash, which in the calcs I linked above, is 410.5 quadrillion times lightspeed at a minimum. If you’re comfortable using the Kaioken and Gogeta multipliers, that’s about 16.42 quintillion c.
So stats seem to be semi even as of now, slightly in Broly’s favor but not by a massive margin. Granted, I have qualms scaling Hulk to Hermes via some shit in comics, but I’ll ignore it for now. High end for Hulk would be 3 quintillion c, giving Broly a 5x speed advantage, and he’d be roughly about 2x stronger. Granted, there is a multiplier for the Pandora’s box having a stated multiplier of about 133x, but even things out with the Super Saiyan (50x, confirmed by the Daizenshuu, Broly at his best outmuscled SSJ Gogeta, ez pickings) multiplier for both of their high ends, which would put Broly at 248000x universal and Hulk at 325584x universal, roughly. I’m not going to use more and more multipliers for Broly since that’s very much on the edge of calc stacking and Super Saiyan having a consistent multiplier is definitely uh, debatable, but this is to show that the mid and high ends for both Hulk and Broly leave both at roughly comparable power and speed. So now, this whole fight comes down to other factors. First off, skill and experience. While Hulk has fought much, much, much longer than Broly and has fought more varied foes, I’d say Broly has the skill advantage. He’s a big enough prodigy that even after just a few minutes, he’s capable of keeping up with Vegeta and Goku, both of whom have trained non stop for 40 years of their life (or being dead. Sometimes both), and his natural ability to adapt, learn, and match others fighting styles is truly remarkable. I’d say Hulk has experience, but Broly has the skill to keep up. While Hulk has fought opponents similar before and can leap high distances, flight still gives Broly a pretty good mobility advantage, and if he plays smart enough, he can go and play and keep away with his energy attacks. Speaking of which, Broly definitely has the range game in his favor. With multiple energy blasts, energy balls, and more, he can definitely keep Hulk at bay long enough to overwhelm and overtax his healing factor. Which leaves us to the final point of contention: Can Broly overcome Hulk’s impressive healing factor? I’d say yes. While the Hulk’s healing factor can help pull him up from being splat to bits, it won’t save him from complete vaporization, which, even with the impressive Green Door, takes a while to regenerate from. Given how Broly has multiple ranged and powerful options, one strong enough to literally break dimensions, match Gogeta in power, and one strong enough to force Gogeta to dodge it instead of tanking it head on, I feel like he should have enough to overpower and overwhelm Hulk
So in conclusion, to make a Devil’s Advocate for Broly, he’s at least comparable enough in stats with likely a decent enough speed advantage, has mobility at his side, is more skilled, and his range game options should give him the tools he needs to overcome Hulk’s healing factor, even with Hulk’s ever growing strength (which Broly can match, as it is repeatedly stated and shown in the movie the more Broly adapts, the more stronger he becomes), experience, and intelligence. Apologies if this seemed rather dumb or whatever, or if I came off as biased (which I kind of am tbf), but I just wanted to make an argument for Broly since well, no one else will lol. I think this fight is honestly super close, and while I do think Hulk will win the episode, I just wanted to show it’s possible to make a solid argument for Broccoli boy. Regardless, I just hope the episode is great, the sneak peek alone has this as the best 3D fight this season tbh. Anyways, thanks for reading my verdict, and happy 10 year anniversary to Death Battle. Here’s hoping Season 8 can be another great year, and for god's sake have Cole vs Al-

IKARI KARI KARI KARI IKARI! I AM THE RAGE CHIKARA CHIKARA CHIKARA! I HAVE THE STRENGTH
Ima be real and say that I was not as able to contribute to this blog or look into this fight as much as I originally wanted, so long story short from what I can tell:
High Uni Hulk vs Broly w/o multipliers: Broly loses hard
High Uni Hulk vs Broly with multipliers: Broly might be able to squeeze out a win by a very slim margin
Multi Hulk vs Broly with multipliers: Broly loses very hard
Multi Hulk vs Broly w/o multipliers: Let’s hope Cheelai is nearby with the Dragon Balls because press fucking F for Broly
So in the most likely situations, it looks like Hulk is taking this more often than not. But that’s just what I’m Saiyan.
Br3ndan5
Not gonna lie. When I first heard on Discord that this was going to be the next match, my initial thought was, “No, they’re joking, right? Most of this season’s lineup has been comic book characters.” Then I saw the trailer for it on Twitter, and I quickly changed my mind. While this isn’t my desired Broly match-up (I’m more of a Broly vs Asura fan, personally), I do have a fondness for this fight. I remember it starting to grow on me back when I was 13 and looking through ScrewAttack out of boredom, only to find a blog that showed a three-way battle royale between Broly, Hulk, and Asura. Admittedly, my memories about the blog itself are a bit blurry (and I think it’s been deleted since then), but I remember thinking “Wow, this was badass! I wonder if the show will ever do something like that!” Well, it’s been 7 years since then, and although the circumstances are a bit different, it’s good to see that this is finally coming to fruition.
But enough about my trip down memory lane. Let’s get to discussing the verdict.
In terms of strength and durability, Broly should be at least Universe+ since he could fight on par with Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza. Goku was strong enough to produce shockwaves that risked destroying the universe while in Super Saiyan God, a form that he later absorbed into becoming his new base. Vegeta showed that he could beat Golden Frieza while in Super Saiyan Blue, which is stronger than Super Saiyan God. Sometime after that, Frieza was able to stalemate Goku in Super Saiyan Blue, and Broly showed that he could fight all three of them. Other than that, his feats mainly consist of destroying a bunch of mountains and an Arctic area.
Unfortunately, Hulk has him massively outclassed in this regard. He’s traded blows with the likes of Thor, who produced enough energy to create a new Big Bang and merge infinite timelines while fighting another version of himself. He’s also been able to trade blows with the Silver Surfer, who could contain the energy needed to destroy two universes, which Hulk is also capable of. And considering that there exist multiple statements that the Marvel universe is infinite, this would put Hulk’s feats at an even greater level. And if we go by direct feats, his ability to destroy Night-crawler’s universe and affect infinite dimensions with the Thunderclap easily eclipse Broly’s.
With regards to speed, Broly’s ability to keep up with Goku would easily put him in the quadrillions range, but Hulk is easily comparable if not superior due to keeping up with Thor and Silver Surfer, who both have a plethora of speed feats ranging from quadrillions, quintillions, sextillions, or even infinite/immeasurable speeds.
Experience-wise, there’s no question that this goes to Hulk. Outside of having more than just one movie to draw from, his years of fighting various Gamma Mutates, aliens, monsters, gods, cosmic beings, and other supernatural creatures give him an edge over Broly, whose combat experience consists of a whole four fights and some rudimentary training from his dad. When it comes to intellect, however, that’s a bit harder to decide. While Broly’s shown the ability to adapt to others mid-fight, his main strategy involves rushing in guns blazing and beating the shit out of whatever’s in front of him. While Hulk initially suffered from a similar problem early on, over time he eventually learned to bury the hatchet with Bruce, which means that he retains the intellect of one of the smartest men in the Marvel universe.
As for their powers, Broly’s ki manipulation gives him more versatility in terms of attack options, and his different forms could lessen the gap in stats by a bit. Unfortunately, Hulk’s own powers have him beat. He could further the strength gap between them, either through rage or by absorbing Gamma, the latter of which exists everywhere, including in his surroundings. With his healing factor, he could just regenerate from whatever damage Broly inflicts, and the immortality given to him by the Green Door is something that Broly has no means of bypassing. His ability to manipulate his size would make it harder for Broly to avoid his attacks, and it doesn’t help that Hulk has multiple ways to bypass Broly’s durability.
Considering Broly’s berserker mentality and penchant for sticking to close-quarters, it’s likely he’d continue attacking while Hulk is in the middle of regenerating, which could eventually cause him to become stuck in Hulk’s body. From there, Hulk has several options to bypass Broly’s durability: he could either absorb Broly into his body and break him down, reduce him to a withered husk by draining his life force, or power himself up by absorbing Broly’s Gamma; which could weaken and even potentially kill Broly. Even if Broly decided to play it safe by hitting him from a distance, Hulk’s no stranger to fighting opponents that rely on flight and projectiles, and he could easily catch up to him by jumping. It doesn’t help that the Thunderclaps should be capable of mitigating Broly’s ki blasts, considering that they are made using Hulk’s strength.
Broly may be an Incredible opponent, but he just won’t be able to adapt to the Hulking stomp he’s going to receive.
The winner is The Incredible Hulk.

“Comic Book Herald go brrr”
As a fledgling comic book dweeb and a huge Dragon Ball fan, this matchup has really kind of grown on me! One of the first comic books I’ve ever read was World War Hulk and the first DBZ media I consumed as a kid watching Kai was the Broly movie. Both of these characters were just so cool to me then, and seeing how they’ve changed as characters since then is rad.The Hulk has always been a good character, but seeing him evolve is great. Broly is edgy garbage in the old movies, but NEW Super Broly is absolutely great as a character. Really, both of them probably had some better matchups but I’m hype for this one all the while. That being said, let’s get on to the actual matchup itself.
Really, about the only advantage Broly has going into this fight might just be his move set and destructive capacity. He’s got some pretty nice moves, even if Hulk has fought people with even better powers similar to his before. The rest all goes to Hulk, who edges him out or outright destroys him in every category.
For speed, Hulk scales to other heralds who simply have higher speed feats than Beerus’ shockwaves (I don’t see any reason characters can’t scale to them that are valid) with some reaching ridiculous levels of speed. I think Quintillions c is safe for this argument, as it seems pretty consistent. Broly is quad c, so he trails behind when it comes to the speed category.
Strength is debatable, but I’m not so much a fan of using multipliers. Broly can be anywhere from 3x universal to like 60x depending on how you calc the Universe 7 Macrocosm. I personally think Death Battle’s calc of 9x is just fine, so I’ll just say for my verdict I think he’s 9x Uni.
The Marvel 616 Universe is stated on multiple occasions to be infinite, but the highest statement we’ve got aside is like a trillion light years in diameter. Much higher than 9x Uni, and Hulk has some feats + some cosmological arguments that might make this massively higher. Overall, Hulk takes strength massively and speed by a bit.
Overall, I think all of these factors together just spell a pretty solid Hulk win, and that’s not even factoring in his superior regen and other abilities mentioned on this blog. It looks like The Hulk is about to end Dragon Ball’s win streak. Wish it had been Thawne, though.
Da Lunge Fish
Okay, I’m gonna be straightforward here. Hulk is like Multiversal+ and at least quintillions times FTL. Broly is low multiversal and quadrillions times of c. Hulk blitzes and one shots. The rest like skill, mobility and versatility literally don’t matter when the stat gap is that big. Hulk wins.
The end.
The real cal howard
(Idk, fam. Because green, I guess...)
So uh...Hulk vs Broly.
Like a few of my associates above, this match had to grow on me, but now I’ve come to love it. It’s gonna be great animation, music is gonna be great, and frankly, I just wanna see two big people hit each other.
So, stats. We had Beerus earlier this year, so we know where Broly is gonna stack up at minimum, given Broly was canonically directly compared to the naked cat god. He’s gonna scale to the shockwaves in speed, and upscale from the 9x universal feat in the now infamous episode 12. Also multipliers are a thing which...yeah, is gonna be weird. But even then, Hulk’s numbers are bigger. He’s faster, with Thor scaling putting him quintillions minimum to Broly’s quadrillions maximum (and it is his maximum, given he’s much slower than Whis, who peaks somewhere around 500 quadrillion c). Strength seems about equal until you realize that Marvel’s big universes are much bigger than Dragon Ball’s big universe. To put it lightly, there’s a difference of three digits in between sizes. The thing is...that’s all that really needs to be said. Like Goro vs Machamp earlier this year, this is just an unga bunga hitter match. You got the sizable strength advantage, you win. And Hulk dominates the normal stat advantage. He’s even smarter. Now, let’s not give Broly zero credit. For one, it’s great that he’s actually a likable character now. And I’m not saying that sarcastically. Super!Broly is freaking amazing. But relating to stats, he’s got the ability advantage when it comes to his opponent. He can fly, and his ranged options are much more potent in comparison to Hulk’s Thunderclap. And his adaptation gives him martial arts. The problem is, they change nothing. Broly has no tactics that can exploit Hulk’s weaknesses. He has no hax to bypass Hulk’s tank status (Hulk resists like everything under the sun anyway so...yeah). And that’s not even factoring in that stupidly overpowered regeneration/immortality Hulk has. And as you’ve seen above, it is stupidly overpowered, likely making him the most unkillable person featured in this show, behind only Darkseid, and even that’s a maybe. So despite Broly deserving a win against Asura instead, Hulk proves that he’s the strongest there is.
Oh. Right. A pun. Something about green with envy. Good night, everyone.

Alright, time for the highly anticipated final of Asura vs Br-
...this kinda pseudo-confirms the possibility of Atrocitus vs Asura now. And boy do I have some juicy Atrocitus scaling for that. Anyways, this is a surprisingly hype match-up since the Hulk’s back, but with a twist; Immortal Hulk is thrown into the mixture. And with that information alone, I can already jump into why Hulk wins this ever so comfortably.
Right off the bat, Immortal Hulk is flat out stronger. He's able to not only fight Thor, but able to hit the guy hard enough to knock the teeth out of him, and even physically contest with the Sentry, and has numerous direct universal scaling feats that have taken place even prior to Immortal Hulk to support this. He’s battled Nightmare in his dimension and rendered it asunder to such a degree as to cause nightmares to cease, channeled energy that would destroy two universes, in narration flat out destroyed Nightcrawler's universe, and his Thunderclap, which has been treated as a lower kind’ave technique has sent shockwaves across an infinite number of dimensions. Now I won’t be going over the size of Marvel’s universe or any sorta Yggdrasil scaling, as others have already said what's been needed to be said about it. So back to Immortal Hulk. He's gone from taking piss from Thor to beating him to a pulp. So what? Well, lets just say that means it makes the scaling even better. Thor is in my opinion tied with Silver Surfer for the all-father of herald feats ranging from uni+-low multi. Thor under his own power with Mjolnir absorbed the Godbomb, a weapon capable of slaughtering every god across every timeline in the universe, reversed the World Engine, which was moving Yggdrasil, which contains nine realms (universes), wrestled with a living manifestation of the Odinforce, and if you scale that to the power of the Odinforce, it was able to contain the power of the Eternal Flame, which Kid Loki confirmed would have the power to affect all Nine Realms and the Multiverse itself, and finally Thor also scales to another herald known as Hyperion, who famously survived the incursion of two universes, ergo supporting Hulk’s scaling.
Broly obviously scales to feats of a uni+ caliber as well. He was capable of matching Super Saiyan God Goku in combat and is supposedly stronger than any other Dragon Ball villain not counting Zeno, including Beerus who matched Goku’s clashes that were powerful enough to potentially destroy Universe 7, which is much larger than our own universe, and even surpassing Jiren, who at his peak (Limit Breaker) was capable of completely trouncing Master Ultra Instinct Goku briefly, whos awakening alone shook the World of Void, a dimension that is described as a world without time or space and filled with infinite nothingness. So when it comes to scaling, Hulk simply has more of it that gives him much higher degrees of uni+/low multi then Broly.
Speed-wise, it is relatively close. Neither are immeasurable but the range they top at is roughly around the quad/quintillion range. Hulk obviously scales to Thor consistently, who in “Journey Into Mystery (Vol 1 Issue 94)”, Thor flies from Earth to Asgard in “moments” after Loki, using his trickery, telepathically sends him a message to do so, which at a lower end gets you in the quintillion range, and Hulk himself has been shown capable of blitzing heralds of Thor’s caliber like Sentry numerous times. Over in Broly’s corner, it's safe and sound to scale Broly to base forms of Goku and Vegeta and higher forms such as SSB Goku. He should be faster than the likes of Beerus, who crossed the universe at 375 quadrillion times the speed of light, and Jiren, who has reacted to time-hopping Hit. So speed-wise, it’s relatively in the same ballpark.
I’ll focus less on durability and jump into the hax for both since as of late, there’s a surprising amount of stuff Immortal Hulk has. Namely, the Green Door, an addition to the Hulk’s mythos and a surprisingly epic one too. The Green Door is a metaphysical barrier that connects the Below-Place, the bottom layer of the Multiverse even below the deepest layer of Hell, to the real world, and acts as a passage for gamma-mutated creatures or people to possibly return to the living world, at a cost of no memory of their resurrection. The Hulk however has bypassed these conditions, and is able to return to the living with his memories intact. Using this door also completely revives the user, healing their body of all their previous wounds or injuries. So Hulk has immortality. But is it fast enough? The time frame is unknown, the best answer I can find is in Immortal Hulk #1, Banner himself is gunned down by a thug and by sunrise transforms into the Hulk. In my opinion however, this is hardly relevant. Hulk is far too durable and his regeneration alone compensates for any of Broly’s best Ki attacks such as the Eraser Cannon or Gigantic Full Blast. His regeneration has literally tanked acid that was designed to negate regeneration, and he just ripped it off himself and ignored the damage completely. In terms of adaptability, I fail to see how Broly’s will overcome Hulks. Hulks rage empowerment has allowed him to boost his anger at least three times over alone, making it hard for him to keep up with someone who can just keep getting stronger.
So to sum it up, I think Immortal Hulk’s far superior strength and scaling, regeneration, rage empowerment, and overall speed to keep up with Broly’s make the Hulk the winner of this capeshit ass finale.
Wacky Man
....Wait, you want my opinion?
You're probably wondering just who am I? Sike you don't! I’m just going to skip the introductions right away so I don't have to bore you. So back until like the early 2010’s I think it was clear who won already. “Hulk=Planet. Broly=Galaxy. Duh Broly wins you Marvel fanboys” I mean sure there were those who thought higher or lower but those were like the wankings and lowballs of that era and small circles of people who hid out in places like ComicVine and the SpaceBattles Forums. But like really really well hidden.
Come 2020 and now Hulk vs Broly is a thing in Death Battle which seemed really strange for me as the season finale. Maybe because they’re green like pine trees? Anyhow, a lot has changed in 2020. I do mean A LOT. Super and with it the BROLY movie in all caps came out remaking Broly and skyrocketing him above most, if not, all of the Tournament Of Power. Hulk has had multiple more comic issues come out and with one series in particular, The Immortal Hulk, being particularly interesting in this debate. I’m not going to say why because I’d just be kicking a dead horse and you should probably stop skipping to the verdicts section of this blog. Seriously the people here really got every piece of info they could find organized above; They’re amazing whoever they are. Well it is more than just a comic series that changed everything to be honest, debating has become so refined that we got much more accurate stats and information regarding every character ever not just Broly and Hulk.
I unfortunately couldn’t be a part of the discussions of the fight due to how busy mid-late December is for me so my opinion here is mostly based on what I’ve read for the past days. Hulk surprisingly for me not only outstats but might just possibly outhax (idk guys i think death battle might pull out Bio Broly for a composite lol. :/) Poor Broly even with his showings in Super isn’t getting far with this new Hulk. Like seriously who thought that out of someone’s mouth “multiverse” and “Hulk” could be said in the same sentence without being ridiculed for how much of a wanking idiot you are. I can’t really argue for Broly either because that’s all he is. A really powerful monster. But compared to a superior entity far more monstrous than you can ever be, then you’re really just nothing....
The winner is Hulk
(Special Thanks To Ninten for inviting me to the blog. For the love of god also stop reading ScreenRant articles for vs battles!)

If I hear the word fucking infinite one more time or hear about how many universes can fit in a cookie jar or if the volume of the universe is a cone, sphere, or cube, or if The One Below All can swallow the 896565th dimension or if Asgard is an immeasurable super distance away I will fucking have a god damn aneurysm.
Hulk wins and I want Season 8 to tone this capeshit down good god.

Yo, it’s me, Yung, the funnyman you always see being corny af on Discord. I’m on a blog now, wowee!!!
This took me a good while to make, as I had no real answer as to who I thought won for a good while. I only had experience with Broly and his feats for the longest and had nothing to go off of for Hulk. Thankfully these guys educated my dumbass on the big green.
Broly should reasonably scale to some higher end Dragon Ball feats, being strong enough to overpower both Goku Blue & Vegeta Blue with low effort. Making him at least Uni+ and MFTL.But that’s as much praise as the big guy gets unfortunately. Despite having incredibly solid AP, Dura and Speed, none of it is on par with Hulk and his stats.
Immortal Hulk is fucking beefy, like, beefier than your Grandma’s own homemade beef stew. With his stats towering in at Multiversal and MFTL+, there's no questioning his victory here. On top of that, Broly unfortunately has no way of actually putting Banner down. Whether it be Hulk’s jaw droppingly good regen, or The Green Door, Broly has no real reliable wincon.
Looks like Hulk is gamma pummel this enraged saiyan to the ground. Though, I only hope I won’t be right.
That really wraps on my thoughts on the Mu itself. Sorry if it’s a bit short, it’s 2am rn and me sleepy. Anyways, thanks for having me on the blog, I’ll try and be on more in the future. Oh, and Happy 10th Anniversary DB, here’s to 10 more years.
GabrielMaster721
Despite the hardships during this entire year, I’ve met a lot of people and gotten into a lot of series I now really like, so I do not regret anything that has happened to me during 2020.
Let’s just hope 2021 is better for everyone.
Hey y’all, it’s DBWD’s dork with a larger-than-average appreciation towards ursines, writing for the first time in a non-shitpost prediction blog.
For starters, I want to say 2 things. First, I did not take part of any of the debates leading to this blog mainly because I’m dumb, but partially because of not only my exams, but also that I feel bad for arguing against either because I’m rooting for both. Secondly, don’t expect anything particularly new or interesting from my part, aside from my own personal opinions and a repetition of what you might’ve already heard many times before in previous verdicts, but oh well.
First of all, Sanji VS Lee. Not going to lie, I was really excited for this episode ever since its announcement (which admittedly is rare for me nowadays lol). I hadn’t checked OP up in a long while but Sanji was always my favorite from that verse, meanwhile although I still haven’t gotten into Naruto, I always really liked Lee’s character from what I had seen of him. I was into Sanji VS Blaziken as well, but this option clearly made the most sense as an episode, so I wasn’t going to complain in the slightest. So reasonably, I was looking forward to this, being the last sprite fight of the season, and One Piece’s eventual return to Death Battle. Now, was that wait worth it?
Hm… I’m unsure. I really digged the fight’s choreography (for the most part), and I love Full Course Will, but there are several major issues I cannot ignore. From the sound design (even if it might have been inspired by OP’s, that Hidden Lotus felt weak like br-) to Lee tapping between gates faster than my grades dropping (yes I’ve repeated this joke 721 times by now and I’ll keep doing so until the day I die), along with how Lee’s character was treated overall (extremely OOC and he got so washed on this fight like damn-). The analysis for both characters were aight, fun enough, and there’s nothing particularly inaccurate in them. Oh, also, I didn’t mind Mark voicing Lee, he’s a cool guy and I really enjoy his content, I just do not think he fits Lee at all. I really liked the finisher though.
Overall, even with my massive bias out of Sanji taking a W, I’m giving Sanji VS Lee a 6/10. The OMM was kinda better. Although my opinions often change ridiculously quickly so this’ll probably be a 9/10 by next week or something lmfao.
By the way, just as One Piece returned, I really hope Bleach does the same soon. Gimme Madara VS Aizen (even if Aizen loses) or anything at all, the series has a lot of unexplored potential.
As for the, uh, main course. Imma be completely honest. Broly VS Asura was for a long while a MU I wanted, because I really love both characters (if we’re talking Super Broly), I’m an Asura’s Wrath stan deep down, and Asura VS Atrocitus makes me sleep so much it’s hilarious (mainly because a character I love dies to one I really don’t care about). I always had practically nothing to say on Hulk VS Broly as a MU, I just didn’t like it as much as Broly VS Asura by a notable margin. So, when Season 7’s Finale was first announced, I was at first kinda really disappointed (“Marvel and DC characters bad haha”), but then I realized I now don’t have to watch Asura die, just to realize I also really like Hulk, returning myself to the “rooting for both” status quo. Story of my life. I pogged like a kid at the Sneak Peek during the latest Death Battle Cast, so at least I already know the fight is gonna be great. The MU certain always had animation potential but still, I’m hyped
Now, I originally expected Broly to take this with mid difficulty, due to not having much knowledge on Hulk stats myself. Hooooh boi…
Imma keep this as general as possible (me from the future called, this statement did not age well lmao) since I’m still far from the most knowledgeable on this debate in particular. Also, I haven’t read all of the other verdicts as of now, but I expect I’m not the only one writing it down in this format. Point is, I’m not a copycat >:(
Also I’m not gonna be linking anything because I’m writing this late and I’m tired as fuck.
Speed-wise, Buff Shrek overwhelms Broccoli Man if you scale him to the highest speed feats he reasonably could, and honestly, I do not see any problem at all in that, so this section goes to him. At his peak he outright blitzes.
AP/Durability-wise, Broly could cap at anywhere from Uni+ to Low Multi from how I see it, which is impressive on its own merit, but Immortal Hulk peaks at around, uh (quickly checks notes), Multi-Multi+. Uh-huh. He also has a healing factor. Hm. Yeah Banner takes the cake here as well, there’s not much debate.
Ability-wise, the result is a bit more tilted in the other direction. We all know neither of them rely on vast arsenals of varied techniques, rather than just going full-on SMT-fan-when-Persona Mode, but I still feel like Broly has a notable advantage here. Hulk does fine enough with his Energy Manipulation and his Thunder Clap, but I feel like Broly’s flight and massive Ki Manipulation gives him the option of much more efficiently fighting from a distance, repositioning himself, or just gaining a bit of extra time to make a meaningful decision for approaching Hulk. So yeah, good boi takes this one.
Intelligence/Experience-wise, there’s a clear distinction to be made. Hulk, during his time, has fought countless opponents with innumerably varied fighting styles and abilities, even if his own method of approaching fights is rather simple, which is definitely impressive. Broly, on the other hand, has pretty good experience at martial arts, which is pretty evident after his showdown with the likes of Goku, so he clearly has the skill to hold his ground at hand to hand combat. However, his overall experience is nowhere near AS impressive as the Incredible Hulk’s, who despite lacking the martial arts experience of Broly, definitely has fought more than enough people with similar abilities (including flight and energy manipulation, for example) to the latter, to the point in which Banner isn’t really fighting anything he has not seen before, giving him a fair ground to apply his greater experience on. So this one goes to buff green man.
The main points are settled but of course, there’s a final one I have to bring up for obvious reasons, and it’s their ability to control their power. Sure, neither of them ever rely on brains over brawn, but even then Broly never really found a way to-Ok wait I accidentally started quoting Sabre VS Jon. Gimme a sec. Now, Broly always lacked the ability to control his own power when fighting, which means he could potentially be outsmarted by an opponent who knows what they’re doing. As for our favorite stronk Marvel superhero, excluding his current state in the MCU, he was never the smartest character around, but as opposed to the Legendary Saiyan, over time, Banner has managed to deal with his Hulk side to a greater degree, giving him more awareness and overall control over his own power than Broly ever really had. Hell, Devil Hulk is more prone to, well, actually thinking things through in a battle. So he definitely is more aware of how to handle Broly than Broly is of how to handle him.
In the end, I don’t think it should be of shock who I think should take this. Broly has martial arts, a superior array of ranged options, and (in Super) is a good boi who doesn’t deserve an L at all. However, Hulk is just consistently faster, has way more power on his side, making his job at taking down Broly with his strikes much easier, is way more durable to the point in which Broly will have trouble even hurting Hulk at his peak, rendering his martial arts experience kind of useless, has a busted as poop healing factor, which definitely helps him against Broly’s Ki attacks, and possesses a level of control that the Legendary Super Saiyan could not possibly underst-shit, I did it again. One might argue that Hulk will not start the fight at his absolute peak, which means Hulk’s stat advantages wouldn’t be as clear cut as I made it sound like, which is kinda true. However, I think it’s reasonable to say that with his superior speed and healing factor, Broly wouldn’t realistically have much of a chance to take his green colossal opponent down before their power rises into an overwhelming degree.
Overall, yeah, from how I see it, Hulk is pulling this one off. Which is good because Marvel can keep its winning streak going, but also bad because DBS!Broly does not deserve to die. That’s the deal with this show anyway so I can’t do much about it.
Phew, this took longer than it should have.
Before leaving I wanna take a moment and say something else.
It's been 10 years already, huh? Wow. Well, as we all know, next season will work as an anniversary season to celebrate DB’s decade-long history, so we can definitely expect highly requested MUs, and as the crew stated several times now, MUs with history behind them. Sure, this is kind of a very broad term, but I think it’s certain a lot of heavy hitters are waiting for us in 2021. So, ye, despite my thoughts on this Season overall, with its very clear ups and downs, I’m still really looking forward to the release of Hulk VS Broly, and of course, Season 8.
I’ve run out of things to say, so, I wish everyone reading this a good Christmas Eve!
…
Oh yeah, also, please make Travis VS Jack happen next season I beg y’all
SoMaShadow
Holy hell is there a lot to talk about here…
First of all, Rock Lee vs Sanji was pretty cool! One Piece finally made its return to Death Battle, and though we get yet another Naruto loss, Sanji’s cool enough for it to be fine. Still should take a bit of a break from Naruto, though. Bleach hasn’t shown up in a decent while and it’d be cool to get an episode with the other series in the Holy Shonen Trinity. The animation was alright, but Lee hopped between Gates hella fast and I’m a bit disappointed there wasn’t a removing the training weights moment. Everything with Sanji and the Raid Suit was awesome though, but it’s to be expected when one of the characters was a primary protagonist and the other got shafted a third of the way through the series. Still, the episode was cool and I’m glad to see it happen.
However during the waiting period for the fight we got a teaser for the next fight to come, and boy oh boy did it eclipse my excitement for Rock Lee vs Sanji hundreds of times over. Last season, Asura was at one point considered to be in the Season 6 Finale, but we know it got changed for MightMight, but considering the release of a particular movie the year before, it was highly likely that the finale was going to be Asura vs Broly. Coming to the end of this season, I thought that maybe we’d get Galactus vs Unicron, or Asura vs Broly, and honestly, I’d be fine with either, but as was teased in discount Batman vs Spider-Man Batgirl vs Spider-Gwen, we got something a little different…
I know that a lot of people wanted to see Asura, and are sick of comics this season, and honestly, I agree with both sentiments, but I could not be more hype for this fight! Hulk is a character that I love, and seeing him return after his fight against Doomsday was just so amazing. He gets a chance to get a run-back and against another angry, green, raging warrior (see, I did the funny haha. You get it G1 Blog). Similarly, Broly is a character I’d wanted to see for a long time, and this only increased with the new movie. Sure, comics have been overused this season, but Hulk is such an iconic character that I really don’t mind, and even though it means Asura doesn’t get this specific matchup, he’s still got other options, like Atroctius, Z Broly, Vegeta, Kratos, etc.
But with Hulk vs Broly, comes a cool little niche of raging brutes getting new stories that explore them more deeply. With the advent of Immortal Hulk, and Super Broly, it’s transformed characters with little personality outside of rage into fully fledged characters that we can feel for, and understand on a deeper level. Personally, I still hope for an Asura fight, but this is my preferred fight for both Hulk, and Super Broly. But enough of my rambling on, we’re all here to see who wins, so let’s get on with the show.
Looking through the rest of the blog, it’s pretty clear that Hulk’s gonna be taking this in a clean sweep. I’ll be saving strength until the end because dear lord do they have a lot of strength feats. Starting with an easier topic to cover, speed - Hulk takes this one.
He’s frequently shown speed quick enough to tag characters like Quicksilver, who can outrun radio waves and react in a picosecond. He also has beat down characters like Vision, who has lasers that move at lightspeeds, and fights Iron Man, who can move at MFTL speeds. He also frequently fights Thor and Silver Surfer, and has blitzed Sentry, Hyperion and Gladiator. Thor can consistently travel from Earth to Asgard “in moments” (1.579 Quintillion c - 15.793 Quintillion c) and has flown to the edge of the infinite towards the void beyond the furthest reach of thought itself. Silver Surfer could travel half a million lightyears in short time (3.15 Trillion c) and time travel through speed alone, and Gladiator can cross galaxies in the blink of a god’s eye (100 Trillion c). Hulk has also caught up to Hypnos and snapped his neck. For frame of reference, Hypnos was able to intercept Hermes with his hypnosis and kill him. Hermes can
travel from Mount Olympus to Earth in a short time and is the god of speed/fastest of the Olympians, Heralds such as the Eternal being; Makkari was stated to be even in speed with him and Thor has been shown to be fast enough to catch him on many occasions (525.9 Quadrillion c - 3.15 Quintillion c). Additionally, Venus, whom Hermes is equal or superior to, displays a similar feat where she travels from Earth to Mount Olympus and back to Earth between worlds without her boss noticing (If Mount Olympus functions like Asgard, should be in a separate Universe and that’s supported by the “countless Millions of Light years” statement) (352 Quintillion c - 15.15 Sextillion c).
As for Broly, he’s much faster than Piccolo in the beginning of Dragon Ball Z, when his beams could reach the moon in seconds, and he can consistently keep pace against Gogeta, and both were able to move fast enough to appear as if they were teleporting during their fight. He should also be superior to Goku during the Battle of the Gods, who kept up with Beerus, who is capable of universe crossing (375 quadrillion times the speed of light). Broly should also scale far above the shockwaves occurred during Goku and Beerus’ clash, which traveled throughout all of Universe 7 and reached the Kai’s Realm (410.5 quadrillion-5.75 quintillion c). He’s also fast enough to appear directly in front of characters who are faster than that level of speed, such as when he did so during his fights with Goku and Vegeta.
Taking these into account, we know that Hulk is significantly faster than Broly. Using their low Quintillion feats, Hulk is nearly 3 times faster, and that isn’t taking into account his high end Quintillion feat/the low Sextillion feat, which blows Broly out of the water. Additionally, Hulk is much smarter in all of his forms, especially Devil Hulk, who has genius level intelligence mixed with Hulk’s godly strength, which I will get into soon. Hulk also has better training and experience, as Broly was stranded on Vampa for most of his life and trained only with his father and against wild animals, while Hulk has over 50 years of comic history to cover, and has spent a lot of time with skilled fighters in the Avengers. While both are prone to fighting on pure instinct and rage alone, Hulk always maintains some level of control, and even when in blind rages would fight with more modicum of skill and thought, compared to Broly who is all aggression and no thought (All unga. Monke brain), but when they need to get aggressive, Hulk does it better in terms of pure fighting ability.
Also, Broly has shown that he can adapt quickly to the fighting styles of others, but the longer a fight drags on, the less control he maintains, and that’s an issue that Devil Hulk seldom has to face. Broly’s use of Ki in combat is a very important tool for him here, as he has a range advantage, being able to fly and shoot blasts from a distance. The issue with that, is that Broly has shown to forego these for pure, brutal punching when he loses control over his power, and his biggest advantage in this fight will likely be lost by Broly himself. Rather ironic.
Comparing Broly’s abilities to Hulk’s however, is not even close. Hulk has regeneration which lets him survive attacks that have literally repelled matter off of him, and whether it’s his limbs, organs, or muscle mass, he’ll be rejuvenated within moments. Broly is going to have one hell of a time trying to get past regeneration like that.
The Hulk has stuff like Rage Amplification, the Thunderclap, his incredible jumping ability, Energy and Gamma Manipulation, Life Force Absorption, Extrasensory Perception and his straight up immortality. And then there’s stuff like the Green Door and The Below Place. Hulk also doesn’t have any weaknesses that Broly could take advantage of, while Broly’s main weakness, his lack of control, can be perfectly exploited by Hulk and his much greater intelligence.
Now. Strength. This can get so mind-bogglingly crazy that it’s more simple to say that Hulk’s strength is infinite. He can collapse infinite dimensions and fight people of similar calibre. Hell, Hulk just having intercourse alone threatened the multiverse, although it was with Dormammu’s sister, and Dormy is way too fucking strong. Hulk also has feats of fighting similar Multiversal characters like Thor and Sentry. Broly also scales to Beerus and Super Saiyan Gogeta, who are more than capable of shaking the Universe, and got only stronger since then, but Hulk can punch through time and fight gods like Galactus, Zeus and Marvel’s version of Satan to a point where he had to withdraw. Hulk’s strength is on such a cosmic scale that it quite frankly shouldn’t be possible and it will overpower Broly.
Overall, Hulk just has almost every single advantage in this fight, and is more than capable enough to put Broly down. He’s faster, stronger, smarter, more experienced, more durable, has better hax and regeneration and can exploit Broly’s weaknesses for a solid victory.
Overall Season 7 has had its ups and downs, but has been enjoyable, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Damn… It’s been 10 years of Death Battle already, huh? How time does fly… I’m looking forward to Season 8, and can’t wait to see what they do!
Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
My boi Jotaro
(Trigun was a good show. I pray to God Vash can get in next season, or just sometime)
Well hi there! I’m My boi Jotaro! A resident from the Death Battle Wiki Discord server, and a guy who felt like joining in for the Blog. I’m your jokester nice guy around the place, and I’m here to have some fun! With this out of the way, time to get to writing myself a verdict for the finale of the season! Also, you’re welcome Gabe and Windi for having me invite you to this. Hope you two had fun.
Anyways, we got Hulk vs Broly. I wanted Broly vs Asura myself, but this will make a great finale for sure. Hyped for the music, the fight, the exciting debate, all of it. Anyways, since this is a last minute thing, I guess I got little to no time to do this. Anyways uhh, with Tier 2 Marvel Heralds becoming more solid with time, and my beliefs on both characters uhhh, Hulk blitzes, one shots, regen, whatever. I’m feeling lazy rn, and gotta head out of the house later today, but here’s my verdict I guess. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and stay excited for next season boys! Also, now Asura needs to fight Kratos with Broly vs Asura dead. It just seems more fun than Atrocitus despite the strange animation potential it has. Plus, it’d be funny as hell to see Kratos win via Universal Kratos, and if they mention 9 Universes for Gay Toast. Plus, the researchers themselves buy Tier 2 Kratos now afaik, so it’s just gonna be funnier for casuals who watch the show.
Anyways uhh, what else you wanna talk about? Oh yeah, let’s try to talk about Lee vs Sanji for one sec! It was nice to see a series like One Piece get back into the show, and I’m glad Sanji took the win, even if I’m sad Lee lost as well. Hope to see another great Shonen like Bleach back in next season as well, with that being Madara vs Aizen, Renji vs Lavi from D. Gay Man (a good series from what I hear, and the MU sounds fun af), and an actually good Rukia episode maybe sometime. Also uhh, since Gabe mentioned Persona 2, how about maybe Tatsuya sometime later? Yeah, Squall from FF8 is his perfect opponent really. I might try my own Blog on that sometime, or may even hope it can become a bonus Blog for this thing. So yeah, enough filler, and let’s go back to a verdict actually. So with high tier speed feats, Hulk outpaces, and Marvel Universes being Trillions of Lightyears doesn’t help Broly, Multi-Multi+ Marvel Heralds getting more accepted doesn’t help him either (thank you HeroicDefender for helping me believe in Multi+/5D Marvel Heralds), and Hulk’s regen is too much, as he’s returned from some rather insane stuff in his time, where there'll be no one else (a nod to the song Snake Eater if you will). A based Hulk win at the cost of a sad Broly L :(. Broly was a good boy who didn’t need to die (except Z Broly but fuck Z Broly). So uhh, that’s a more in depth look I guess. But Merry Christmas to y’all, uhh, yeah.
Also, I hope I did good on my first time here! It’s a fun server that I’m glad I’m a part of the thing!
Windindi
(Best song from DBS: Broly) PLEASE tell me they’ll do something like this in the actual episode...
First off, I’d like to welcome everyone here for allowing me to be a part of the Official Death Battle Blog, and major shoutout to my friend My boi Jotaro, SoMaShadow, and everyone who recommended me to play a part of the process. I also want to thank all of you for...everything so far really. Ok, now onto this particular matchup. At first glance I saw this and thought “Oh no way!” and then came all the criticism of the whole 50/50 Marvel vs DC thing, which while that does absolutely hurt Season 7 (a stance I will stand by, don’t @ me), this particular matchup really does defy those rules for me personally, and given it’s a matchup of characters I have personal attachments to, I gotta say this is a hell of a way to go off for Season 7. So for everyone still complaining about that, I think if you’re that upset you’re gonna miss out on something very exciting. Just my cup of tea.
Alright, time for an actual verdict, eh? Alright now, Broly VS Hulk...damn, talk about Mean Green Fighting Machines! There’s really nothing I can add that others haven’t brought up already such as Hulk’s insane regeneration abilities, his fights against literal gods that rule over the Marvel Universe, etc. Broly on the other hand while powerful in his own right, is harder to scale properly because there’s too many inconsistencies that I have seen among the VS Community and even within the Dragon Ball Community (which isn’t that surprising honestly) with statements about whether he could defeat Beerus, scale properly to Gogeta, and more stuff like that. From everything I have seen based on my glimpses of everyone else’s verdict; as much as I love Super Broly (he REALLY doesn’t deserve to die, damn it…) given he seems to actually be faster than the opposition; The Incredible Hulk has this with his abilities, power, durability and better stats and scaling compared to the Broccoli man. Sorry I couldn’t contribute more beyond that, though I think it’s safe to say that everyone has me covered here haha.
As a big side note...Hot damn Season 7 was crass. I might be spewing out an unpopular opinion here, though Season 7 has been really disappointing regarding it’s matchups and potential. I don’t think that they were all bad per say, though for what it’s worth I can only list you all very few episodes I really liked this Season, since well...I felt left out on a lot of it which should explain my disappointment for it, but in the spirit of being nice, I’ll list you all my top 5 this Season prior to Hulk vs Broly…
1) Goro VS Machamp (Stupid fun fight and hype soundtrack. Major props to the team for making this fight a real blast to go through.)
2) Red Hood VS Winter Soldier (This one was just...oh man this was awesome. Live action was a great touch for this one.)
3) Archie Sonic VS Wally West (I was sorta hoping something like THIS could have been a Season Finale, but ah well… Best choice for an episode regarding Marvel and DC fights this season...besides #2)
4) Beerus VS Sailor Galaxia (Really fun fight regarding scale and how well the analysis was, and also super quotable haha)
5) Sabrewulf VS Jon Talbain (While I disagree with the scaling and somewhat of the verdict and especially the research here, the fight and track are so good that I don’t mind as much)
As for Season 8, they seem to be hyping it up given it’s their 10th Year Anniversary Season; so here’s hoping nothing is screwed up there. As for 2020? Good riddance. Though please everyone, have a safe and Merry Christmas will you? Just because 2020 is coming to a close, the pandemic is still at large, so remember to continue protecting yourselves and have some fun while you’re at it!

Best hulk of them all. Screw you, Sterns.
Hulk vs Broly. A fight that has existed for decades, but given new life in 2018.
Note: I will not be going over hulk’s speed. His fight with hypnos was offscreen, and he used Nightmare's horse to surprise him initially. He should just scale to thor or surfer in speed, but for reactions/combat speed only. His own travel speed is abysmal.
If you buy broly scaling to the shockwaves, the two are probably relative in reactions.
Also note the green door has limits. If hulk gets vaporized, its game over
Also want to point out the sentry calc with genis has issues:

Channeled enough energy from an alternate universe that can destroy a universe when split from Banner
Note: I am aware that the argument can be made for the marvel universe being infinite in size, or being a higher dimensional construct. Marvel is rather inconsistent with the actual size of the universes, so I will be using the most recent statement for its size for issue 26 of avengers (2018).
In regards to any anti feats for hulk:
Debunking hulk anti feats - Google Docs
For green scar/world breaker and devil hulk, the two scale much higher:
Green Scar
Stalemated the Sentry (WOG confirms Sentry wasn't holding back, as does the story)
Matches two of Sentry's hands with one punch [Marvel Knights #6]
Tony is worried about Hulk killing billions of people, and Sentry has to expend massive amounts of energy against an opponent as powerful as Hulk [World War Hulk #4]
Sentry has a massive amount of multiversal scaling, even while unstable:

World Breaker
Worldbreaker hulk wrecks the dark dimension
The collision of his physical blows against an amped Red She-Hulk vaporized a whole planet in the Dark Dimension
Umar implies Red She-Hulk and Green Scar are a threat to the Dark Dimension - Incredible Hulks (2010) issue #635
The resulting explosion vaporizes Wendigo and an army of mindless ones
The Dark Dimension is stated to be a higher realm - The Marvel Book: Expand Your Knowledge Of A Vast Comics Universe
Consistent with savage doing this:
Rends Nightmare’s realm “asunder” and goes on to scare tf out of Nightmare - The Incredible Hulk (1968) issue #299 (savage/mindless hulk)
Kills an avatar of Nightmare - The Incredible Hulk (2000) issue #81
Devil Hulk
Hulk's physical power depends on his anger, and can seemingly rise without limit - Marvel Website, Hulk Profile
Devil hulk is stated consistently to be stronger then emma frost, ant man, kang the conqueror, and current god of stories loki
Stated to be angrier than ever - Marvel Encyclopedia, New Edition
Nyx Shard scaling
The primordial goddess nyx had her power split in fourths by zeus. She kept 1/4th, while other 3 portions were sealed in shards by zeus
Devil Hulk breaks one of the shards and absorbs its power without any harm. As shown here, hulk can be overtaxed by energy that isn't gamma if he absorbs more than his body can endure.
While with only 1/4th of her power, Nyx kills Zeus, a skyfather
With the shard energy, Devil could tank fully empowered attacks from nyx after she gained 1 shard, so she was at 1/2th power. Keep in mind he has exactly 1/4th of her power and his own only.
He implies he could kill her before she exploits his weakness to sunlight
Prior to this an attack from 1/4th power nyx (who killed zeus) only caused minor bleeding to devil hulk (before he gets the shard amp)
Devil Hulk also kills her son hypnos, who scales to lesser olympus gods (before he gets the shard amp)
Toba Scaling
Hulk becomes “infected” by the spirit of his dad, Brian Banner after fighting Sasquatch - Immortal Hulk issue #5
It was stated to be Brian Banner by a guidebook and Al Ewing - Marvel Encyclopedia, New Edition and Immortal Hulk issue #10
Mephisto says the same spirit is stronger than himself - Defenders:The Best Defense
Mephisto is equal to a somewhat fed galactus, while in his realm
Mephisto while outside his realm can destroy three “realms” in clash with sattanish (his realm, the dimension they were fighting in, and the regular universe)
Other stuff mephisto scales to:
Hulk and Banner both say that they need to go “home”/where they are strongest in order beat Brian Banner - Immortal Hulk issues #6 and #9 (This is a manipulation from brian, confirmed again)
Absorbing Man gets an amp and begins to body Hulk until he absorbs the spirit and he gets negged internally - Immortal Hulk issue #9
Hulk beats absorbing man (possessed by brian/toba, hulk is currently weakened from losing gamma)
Absorbing man opens the green door, separating bruce banner from devil hulk
Brian says to Absorbing Man that they’re meeting again, which would imply it was him possessing Kreel’s body - Immortal Hulk issue #13
Ewing says that TOBA manifestation we see in issue #12 is “through the eyes of Brian Banner” - Immortal Hulk issue #11
The One Below All cannot interact with the physical world unless it has a host - Immortal Hulk #12
Brian Banner states that TOBA needs a personality to work through, so Brian was pretty much just a puppet - Immortal Hulk issue #39
Absorbing Man absorbs the Green Door and then gives it back to Hulk, which Hulk himself confirms later on - Immortal Hulk issue #13
Specifically he regains his lost gamma only, restoring to him to full power
While drained, fights off a horde of demons made by toba, alongside A-Bomb -Issue 13
After regaining his lost gamma, hulk causes enough pain/injury to brian/toba to force them to retreat
Brian Banner bemoans his loss to hulk - Immortal Hulk issue 34
Wog statements for toba:
Hulk win count over brian/toba
Hulk beats sasquatch controlled by brian/toba, Issue 5
Hulk while weakened beats absorbing man possessed by brian (and amped by hulks gamma), Issue 10
Hulk directly beats Brian and Toba, issue 13
Notes:
Al Ewing changed the dialogue to ensure that the reader didn’t get the idea that Hulk one-shotted TOBA - https://imgur.com/a/Sbi89v0
Ewing states toba wasn't defeated
This ties back to removing the notion hulk one shotted toba. However the narrative does confirm hulk injured brian/toba enough to make them retreat, so at minimum he downscales from this nerfed version of toba
Tldr, full power devil hulk scales to a nerfed version of toba who is stronger than mephisto
Final Tally for hulk
Savage hulk is uni/low multi
Green scar/Worldbreaker are exponentially higher
Devil Hulk is concurrently the strongest hulk, scaling to peak mephisto via his toba feat.

Broly's Salvation Part 1 - Google Docs

DBS Goku upscaling (broly part 3) - Google Docs
Harboring on z feats is redundant. As for super, broly can go as low as 9x uni (volume scaling determined by death battle) all the way to high millions with multipliers (possibly higher)
Jirens’s feat with the infinite void is countered by hulk doing something similar:
You can probably get infinite zamasu or beerus and champa going to destroy universe 6 and 7 extremely high, especially zamasu
Should broly scale?

As Cheelay was listening, she gave Goku a distrustful look.
"What're you up to?"
"Nothing. I just want him to have a good life."
Cheelay and Lemo raise their eyebrows and exclaim in unison: "Huh?"
Goku laid his hand over Broly's shoulder.
"I was pretty confident in my own strength, but then the stronger Broly showed up. And what's more, he's Saiyan, just like me. He's probably even stronger than Beerus. And Beerus is a God!"

“It describes Super Saiyan Gogeta and Super Saiyan Broly's energy as being so powerful that it like...surpassed or broke the boundaries of the universe which transported them to that other dimension. When Broly slams Gogeta around and we see more reality shattering it describes it as something like Broly smashing Gogeta against the walls of space. Final tally for broly
At lowest, 9x universal, highest is high end multi (via volume scaling and multipliers)
You can counter the infinite size dragon ball universe with it being stated to have an edge, and marvel has far more statements for that size anyway.
Final Thoughts:
This fight comes down purely to ap. Broly has no hax or other win cons hulk can't just counter, and hulk is going to win the stamina game:
Hulk's resistances - Google Docs
Hulk's astral abilities - Google Docs
Broly is maybe faster, but speed doesn't change much. Broly needs to have an advantage to the point of being able to vaporize hulk. He may have that advantage against savage, but unlikely against green scar or devil. He also can't take advantage of hulk’s psychological weaknesses. Devil has since lost his weakness to sunlight and savage seems to no longer take over against his will (before The leader sealed the devil hulk). The green door will just allow hulk to come back in minutes or less (as seen in issue 24 of immortal hulk) unless vaporized.
So who wins?
Hulk, more often than not. Broly has flight and maybe speed, and higher initial ap. That's it. If devil starts the fight (which is entirely possible), broly loses that last and most important advantage.
Broly is gamma screwed

A Word from Malcolm Belmont:
So yeah, it’s been quite an interesting year of DEATH BATTLE as well as life in general. While this hasn’t been my favourite season of DEATH BATTLE - i have generally enjoyed myself this year when relating to DEATH BATTLE though i can’t say the same about 2020, not to go on personal details but i have very much had ups and downs throughout the year same as anyone else.
Anyway, enough about personal rambling we at the G1DBFB have an announcement to make.Since DEATH BATTLE usually goes on a break during this time. (and we expect no different here),we will be releasing at least two blogs during this break period and this time we are letting the community get involved. For one of the blogs we have made a google doc on what matchups you want to see in Season 8:
What matchups do you want to see in Death Battle Season 8?
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfpXC5mDaxfykhRN6-DS0RR6iMsiBYrW7VmzJDiMTaxQfgxxw/viewform
This going under the assumption that DEATH BATTLE doesn’t return till February (which is likely), we will be releasing a blog in the middle of January as well as at the end of January before DEATH BATTLE Season 8 Starts.
Finally, from us all at the G1DBFB as well as our many guests we have had this season..
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR
This is probalby the most indulgent we have ever gotten..even more than Wally vs Archie Sonic
ReplyDeleteIt is certainly the most I have gone in on. I tried to address every major point of the debate, I hope I did well in my verdict.
Delete-Ninten
I can tell. Great job
Deleteits a shame that broly has 2 movies and a cameo to work with, while hulk has like 70 years worth of history

ReplyDeletethat thread is bunk
DeleteWhy do you think that
DeleteHoly shot hulk has gotten a metric fuck ton of more stuff since hulk vs doomsday. I feel so bad for broly, I was expecting this to be a close but decisive broly win but it turns out hulk wins comfortably and brushes off the dust off his shoulder afterwards.
ReplyDeleteTrue. Too bad Death Battle disagrees. Wanking Dragon Ball isn't something I would have expected them to do.
DeleteIt’s not wank dragon ball is just that strong
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteHow does him saying its going to be part of the episode means they will debunk it and even without it this blog has already shown plenty of feats that can give him the win
DeleteCause Hulk multiversal feats and speed feats are really iffy and I bet Ultraguy will debunk that shit same with Hero and Liam Swan.
DeleteAnd if they don't "debunk" these feats and Hulk wins, will you be okay? Btw DB isn't always right.
DeleteHulk didn't win. I think he'll be just fine.
DeleteHulk’s Multiversal feats are not iffy at all. And they put Broly at the same level as well in the episode.
DeleteHonestly y’all really downplayed Broly’s speed, durability and destructive prowess lol
ReplyDeleteDid you not look at all the posdible highballs seen in the verdicts? They're still nothing compared to Hulk's own top feats and scaling
DeleteYou seem to take everything at face value... Both DB and this blog
DeleteAlso the fact that broly can fly is a massive advantage.... he Could literally go ol reliable hulk sniping if he wanted, and it’s funny that comic characters with 70+ yrs of writing and multippe of authors get compared to anime characters with very short and linear stories.
ReplyDeleteLet’s be real 90% of all comic characters have a sort of god mode that they needed for at least 1 story. I really think they shouldn’t use a comic characters best feats but use their everyday regular showing. That’s just me. This “devil” hulk also got mopped by the thing. Does thing come close to hulk in feats? No lol but he needed to win because plot
Deletehttps://docs.google.com/document/d/14kLkvMuhE26ceDtWWkKfYRQdHRjeXhV7cnlDSBOSicY/edit?usp=sharing
Devil Hulk losing to the Thing is actually explained in the blog. They have an entire document dedicated to debunking Hulk anti-feats.
DeleteI love how much of a pissy butch king acts like a pissy bitch cause he doesnt want hulk to win cause 70 years of history but at the same time broly wins? Broly has fought characters that have had more than 2 movies and he stil falls short based in the blog.
DeleteYou pissy boy
DeleteHA! YOU ALL UNANIMOUSLY THOUGHT HULK WOULD WIN BUT HE LOST! LOL!!!!!
ReplyDeleteliterally piss off
DeleteThe joke is on Death Battle. This blog makes way better arguments
Delete^ No it doesn't. They only thought Hulk would win cuz they refused to apply multipliers
DeleteWell, some of them anyway
DeleteJust stop. It does make better arguments. Stop being a fanboy.
DeleteYou're being a fanboy by being so salty about the result
DeleteBut go ahead and keep crying for me
DeleteYou're the toxic one here. I can tell by your choice of words that you cried when Goku lost to Superman twice, so don't even try to project. I'm not even that big on Marvel. I read Dragon Ball way more often than I do Marvel comics. I'mean just using logic here
Delete^ me personally I had no problems about Superman winning both times my problem is the horrible downplayed they did for both characters especially for Goku and I can’t really blame screw attack for Goku vs superman 2 because we didn’t have any of Super Saiyan god Goku’s universe clashing feat’s because it was introduced in super that came out a year after Goku vs superman 2 I just wish they held off for that battle until more information came out
DeleteYeah
DeleteAnd.....Broly won.
ReplyDeleteThis blog certainly hasn't aged well at all.
The Prediction Blog take a Big L in this one
DeleteThey're still right though
DeleteProve it. Death Battle's arguments were trash, and so are the ones I've seen in the comments. Nothing so far debunks this comprehensive blog
Delete^ ...nobody's denying that it's a prediction blog. Nobody's saying that it's "official" (and that's not a term that should be used for Death Battle in general, considering that they make all their content based on characters they don't own). Compared to the actual episode, most of the authors for this blog gave more thorough explanations for who they thought would win and addressed more information on both sides. It just happened to favor Hulk in this case.
DeleteRight, but they're treating this blog as official guaranteed here when predictions can also go wrong and it's pathetic to me. Legit, this ain't even the first time this "thorough" blog got it wrong here and the most recent blog where they nearly everyone got wrong was Venom vs Crona. Sasuke vs Hiei was another one too due to their whole apparent *downplay* thing.
DeleteEverything's gonna get debunked regardless so there's no point.
Fair enough. Sometimes the blog gets it wrong, sometimes the show gets it wrong. Which is which will always be up in the air, I suppose.
DeleteYeah
DeleteBeforehand, this was a pretty nice blog to read and the ideas featured here made sense until some extent (I disagree with some, but it really doesn't matter).
ReplyDeleteIm sad about the result. I think that the blog nailed some points.
Spoilers ahead:
There were thing featured in here that by some reason the actual death battle didn't feature.
-Marvel univserse size.
-Goku base form being as strong as the super saiyan god one, and not explaining why is still canon.
-Not saying from where Gogeta universe multiplier comes from.
Again a nice read.
Prediction Blog = Dr Gero
ReplyDeleteHulk = Android 17
Broly = Vegeta
lol
ReplyDeleteThe fact that comic characters with 70+ yrs of history + a thousand authors and stories (which usually by now every hero has a form that is a god tier form needed for the sake of plot. Hell even Batman was able to fight darkseid lol) lost to a anime character with 90 minutes of screen time.
ReplyDeleteAnime characters vs comic characters isn’t fair anyways. Anime characters have a linear single story. Usually have properties that only make sense in their story. And have berry little content compared to comic characters. Comics also like to give off ridiculous feats. How fast is luffy or naruto? We don’t know, they are just fast. However in comics they state how fast a character is at times lol. “Thor flew here in 5 seconds”
Dude stop with the linear story line bullshit. One piece has like a dozen chapters and si does dragon ball
DeleteThat’s one piece don’t compare it to other anime and no dragon ball does have a linear story
DeleteI'm glad they got this one right. This would've been the third fight where they pitted a solar system at best character vs a universal/multiversal character and had the ss character win (Ben 10 vs Green lantern/Archie Sonic vs Flash), but I'm glad they made the right call this time.
ReplyDeleteI love you guys to death, but where was all this stuff when Hulk was fighting Doomsday? Where was universal Thor when he fought Wonder Woman? Again, you guys are great, I love reading your blogs, but inconsistences like these make you seem dishonest at times.
I wish the screwattack forums were still around. It would be nice to get a second opinion from Thomasssj3 (I think that was his name. It was always a jumble of random letters to me) and those other guys. I always enjoyed their insight as well as yours.
Putting Wally West and Green Lantern at "solar system level at best" is one of the most hilariously stupid things I've heard in all my years of VS debating. Don't be a sheep. Always take what VS Battle Wiki says with a grain of salt especially when it comes to Marvel and DC characters. As for where all this universal stuff was during Hulk VS Doomsday and Thor vs Wonder Woman, it was still around even at the time. Death Battle didn't mention it because either they were oblivious at the time, or they didn't think it was necessary. The outcomes of those episodes are still accurate since Doomsday and Wonder Woman are both above universal as well.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
Delete@Speedy
DeleteFair enough, I suppose. Agree to disagree. I still feel that Broly stomps, but I will rescind that dishonesty comment, I feel that was a little too far.
I look forward to see what blog you guys will make in January.
Broly doesn’t stomp at all. He’s similar to Hulk in the stat department.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteI wish hulk won so that idiots like you would cry that a character you have never read about wins and you think he is solar system level
Delete@Unknown
DeleteWell, we're definitely getting idiots crying. Just not idiots like me.
Salty much 😒
DeleteOuch. That Death Battle conclusion was painful to go through. So much shit they got wrong
ReplyDeleteI spent a long time yesterday trying to find a nicer way to phrase it, but... yeah. That's about the size of it. I love the series and I thought the animation was fantastic, but OUCH, they did Hulk dirty this time. Nice to see that at least the blog had the right idea.
DeleteNo lol, because Broly literally decimates Hulk.
DeleteLol no. Did you even read the blog? Death Battle's arguments had been debunked by it before they even said them. They have some SERIOUS explaining to do, because as it stands, Broly gets stat-stomped by Hulk
DeleteI read through the blog and you do realize this is only a prediction blog and nothing stated here should seriously be taken to granted. Also, this isn't even the first time where all of their predictions were wrong (Go back to Venom vs Crona)
DeletePlus, it just seems here that Hulk is being overestimated af here while Broly just gets downplayed to the coffin. The fact that they've said in the blog of Hulk overpowering One Below All would immediately make him multi to outerversal even though it's just a cloudy avatar is the same shit to Thanos overpowering Darkseid even though it's just an avatar.
Literally, the whole reason this blog *predicts* on Hulk to win is literally cuz of his ties to the One Below All, The Green Door, and his broken healing factor. Thanos can deal with Darkseid's avatars, sure, but there's no way he's ever doing shit against Darkseid's true form. The same case for Hulk overpowering TOBA as we never actually seen him taking on the TRUE form of it, just some cloudy avatar. Hulk also being possessed by TOBA is also pretty much outside circumstances, because it's NOT Hulk's power alone and therefore moot. The same case for Absolute Carnage that this blog also relied on for why nearly everyone believed Venom would kill Crona.
Hulk's regen is broken, sure, but no one ever mentioned how long would it take for Hulk to regenerate himself back in process. And even then, how can you even regenerate/come back when there's nothing to regenerate from anyway- aka vaporization.
Both Broly and Hulk have similar capability in their power as the angrier they get, the stronger they become. The difference however is Broly in base form already stomps over Hulk in terms of power considering how he's managed to keep up and clash with Goku and Vegeta in their SSJ and SSB form in BASE FORM. Not to mention when Goku was clashing with Beerus in his base form as well and causing universal shockwaves through every blows as well. It's highly doubtful for Hulk's increasing strength to be able to catch up to Broly's maximum power. As for his other stats, speed is very much in Broly's favor as well as durability as we seen Broly tanking blows from SSB Gogeta in their fight even though he did lost in the end fair and square.
In the end, Hulk was basically playing the whole catch-up game with Broly but Broly was clearly green with anger.
But take it as you will, cuz I honestly don't care if you still object. This is only a prediction blog anyway and the battle's already done with.
Bruh how were they overestimating Hulk and downplaying Broly? If you had done an ounce of research for yourself, you’d know they represented the characters respectfully.
DeleteThe blog initially predicted Hulk would win do to his supposed stat advantage. Hulk in his strongest forms reaches Multiversal power and you’d know this if you read the blog. They are other ways Hulk could’ve won too. Leader had his body completely disintegrated and he came back momentarily. Hulk could likely do the same.
But yeah doesn’t matter since the battle is already done.
^ *Taking predictions as guaranteed wins though* Hoohh boy.
DeleteLmfao when did I say they do?
DeleteTOBA and the green door weren't the only arguments in his favor. Again, you would know that if you had actually read the blog. Hulk's stats and scaling to other heralds puts him way above anything Broly can scale to. Even if we really overestimate Broly's max with Super saiyan multipliers, it still doesn't compare to what Sentry can do. It's not even close
DeleteI read the blog for Venom vs Crona and still disagreed everything on their predictions for Venom winning. Sooo, its pretty much a moot case.
DeleteAnd Sentry has nothing to do with Hulk vs Broly, the battle is already done with already and I'm done here.
Believe what you wanna believe in then.
DeleteMost people think Darksied uses Avatars most of the time. I don't know why that misconception is so common. I even believed it for years.
DeleteDoesn't change the fact that this Prediction Blog still took a massive L in this. Then again, it's only predictions and nothing official and therefore even I wouldn't be a "fucking idiot" for relying on this whole as "100% credible source." Look back at Venom vs Crona as example and im sure on a few other predictions blog. =T
DeleteBut hey, if you're special then you probably wouldn't understand then.
DeleteWho are you talking to? I used to believe it because that's what everyone was saying. I never bothered actually looking into it until years later when I restarted caring about VS debating
DeleteI was referring to this Unknown, though you should also understand that this is only a prediction blog as well. =T In fact, it's almost as if they hold much more knowledge in marvel than in DBZ to begin with.
DeleteNot really. Other than a few things they could've worded better, they had the general right idea on broly's advantages and power via multiplying/scaling. At his best, broly's definitely is thousands (not likely millions) times greater then the hulk.
DeleteI submitted my ideas for Death Battle season 8. If one of them gets picked for a fan-blog, where do I write my prediction for it? I really wanna give my two cents
ReplyDeleteCurious: what ideas?
DeleteCell vs Dark Samus
DeleteBill Cipher vs Discord
Scourge vs Goku Black
Bill Cipher would never work in a Death Battle, sadly. The dude's practically featless and got so little screen time in the series that it's questionable that they could even cut together an analysis for him.
DeleteThose requests aren't bad.
DeleteCell Vs Dark Samus depends on if you believe Cell when he says he feels like he can destroy the whole solar system. If not, he's like, planet to star. That seems about even, as Samus, Ridley and friends are comfortably starbusters. That one could go either way, but I think I'll pull for Cell because of his crazy regeneration. Could easily be wrong tho.
Bill Cipher Vs Discord seems to be a toss up. I think Bill Cipher has that one, but I'm not sure.
Scourge takes this one comfortably, if he scales anywhere near Archie Sonic.
I should submit mine as well.
Bill Cipher has plenty of feats and scaling when you read canon Gravity Falls books like journal 3. Bill'so official Reddit Q&À also helps fill in some gaps. Others have already made long analysis videos on him and his power, so I'm sure Death Battle also could. Especially since they just used someone with 60 minutes of screen time in thier last fight
DeleteDark Samus beats Cell either way. Dark Samus' reven allows her to survive destruction way beyond the scope of a solar system, and she can kill Cell with phazon manip.
DeleteAgreed, even I am not sure
Agreed

DeleteYeah. They always were, but somehow I thought that the character maturing would make the fanbase more mature too. How foolish for me to think. They didn't change one bit
DeleteRight, because generalizing a whole fanbase on one or two people is mature.Stop it
DeletePlease, like the hulk fanbase would be so much better when it comes to being mature.
Deletehonestly, you guys are making the same mistake DB used to make in their early days of accepting nonsense "Infinite" feats or statements from comic book characters, but ignoring ones for their opponents
ReplyDeleteDB universe has also statements of it being infinite in size (jaco said the universe has infinite galaxies, for example). Jiren shook an infinite realm which would in theory require infinite power.Whis said he "transcended time" when he escaped hit's time skip ability.
i've just mentioned a bunch of feats that are usually considered nonsense and denied as such in most communities...it is fair to do so, i'd say. but dont accept the same nonsense from the comic's side.
i mean, one of you accepted hulk dispersing some fog as a feat for him scaling to the literal counterpart to the one above all. do you realise how completely ludicrous it is to scale hulk to that?
the dragon ball universe has a confirmed edge, and the world of void is infinite nothing
DeleteThey didn't unanimously accept the Marvel universe to be in finite. In fact, most of them didn't. They mostly just used the many statements of an infinite universe as a counter to similar Broly high-balls
DeleteOh god you people. They didnt even calculate thearvel universes diameter but they did it for the db universe.
DeleteYeah except the statements are consistent even if they are questionable at best.
ReplyDeleteBut normally, the DB universe has a confirmed size and the Marvel universe is MUCH bigger being 2 trillion light years. So they’re not nonsense.
That’s not just “some fog”, it’s the Avatar of the strongest version of Satan who Hulk draws power from. It’s not ludicrous.
One question. There are other statements about marvel universe size (not the infinite size) being 2 trillion light years besides that moment that Hulk was color red?
DeletePretty sure there are
Deletetheres lots of contradicting evidence to the universe's size in marvel that people always point out whenever this argument is used in most places, just like there are in DB.
Deletescaling Hulk to TOBA is ludicrous because there would be no story if Hulk scaled to something like that. TOBA/TOAA are close to being omnipotent.
you're completely ignoring the context of that scene. hulk himself didnt even see what he did as being anything worthy of note. he just said he was buying time.
He bought a minute of time against TOBA, meaning what he did had a noticeable effect. If it didn't affect TOBA at all, then TOBA would have immediately come back or never left in the first place. Lasting or not, he still affected TOBA.
DeleteHe visibly cracks toba apart on panel. This notion that he was purely a cloud is head canon.
DeleteHe didn't buy against TOBA *itself* though, it was still a manifestation of his avatar and there wasn't any actual scenery of him going up against the true form of Satan.
Deletei never scaled him to true form toba, just the manifestation. the manifestation is stronger than mephisto, per mephisto's own admittance

DeleteBroly fanboys should start by using facts to begin with instead of being toxic toddlers who write in all caps because they're mad that thier precious Broly wouldn't beat someone in a hypothetical fight. Grow up, or at least stop accusing people of doing the exact thing you're doing

DeletePeople hate using death battle as a reference (Goku vs Superman) but will use it fast when it’s beneficial to their point (Hulk vs Broly) so hypocrite Db fanboys
Delete^ personally I had no problems about Superman winning both times my problem is the horrible downplayed they did for both characters especially for Goku and I can’t really blame screw attack for Goku vs superman 2 because we didn’t have any of Super Saiyan god Goku’s universe clashing feat’s because it was introduced in super that came out a year after Goku vs superman 2 I just wish they held off for that battle until more information came out
DeleteYeah hulk should have won
DeleteDamn The Prediction Blog Take a Big L for fight
ReplyDeleteWell death battle was wrong
DeleteI disagree. Death Battle still account for tye increases between Rof - ToP arc, which can easily be 100-4000x extra increase
DeleteThey also took a big L on Venom vs Crona but ofc they wouldn't understand outside circumstances considering Absolute Carnage 🙄
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteVenom will be more Powerful after King Black Arc
DeleteDeath Battle/Ben Singer downplayed The Size of Marvel Universe that's crazy and Hulk can come back even vaporized
I think what's probably even crazier is on how this blog downplayed Broly as well and there's no claims on Hulk coming back from being vaporized lol.
DeleteComing back from a single cell doesn't mean total vaporization and once again, how can you regenerate from something there's nothing to regenerate with? Unless you don't know the term 'vaporization' then lol.
Not even Carnage can regenerate from being vaporized.
he cant return immediately from vaporization but it is possible, as the leader did in issue 34 of immortal hulk
DeleteHulk is TOBA Favorite why give the Leader more abilities?
DeleteRofl no he does not, Broly destroys him with ease. Also it's "Hulk" not Hulu dumbass. Know the difference.
Deletekalo di game sih gue pilih broly, tapi gue lagi ke hook banget nih sama www.Econw.co demen banget wa maen game ini sampai kadang lupa waktu oi wakwkawkawak..

ReplyDeleteI must say, I'm very disappointed with the people on here and the vs. blog. So many people were expecting Hulk to win simply because of his Strength and feats, but those don't matter when your opponent has far more power that works the same way. Not only that, but Broly had other obvious advantages and legit scaling that made his victory pretty much guaranteed.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, this fight is basically feats (Hulk) vs scaling (Broly). Both have fair ways for beating the other, but the one with the characters scaling is simply much greater over the others feats. That's just how it works sometimes. It's not that hard to understand, much less accept. And let's be honest, while the Dragon Ball fanbase is notorious for it's immature behavior, the Hulk/Marvel Fanbase (along with DC) isn't much better as well.
Heck, I heard rumors that some of the bloggers themselves were throwing a hissy fit and kicked out of the blog for making threats towards Death Battle on how this fight went. Now, I'm fine with people in the comments section complaining about it (the comment section, duh) but this is ridiculous. If people are really going to lose it over these kinds of fights, especially those revolving around Dragon Ball, then maybe Death Battle should stop doing them altogether.
Overall, I'm just disappointed with the people and how they acted towards this match up. Sure Dragon Ball can lose to certain Marvel and DC characters, but the same can be said for certain Marvel and DC losing to Dragon Ball characters. And while Death Battle does screw up occasionally with their research and result, this is not one of them. Everyone needs to just learn to accept the facts and move on, or give legit reasons as to why they think the other side wins without going rage mode over it.
Death Battle don't calculate Marvel Universe size but only dragon ball universe size. They correct later in the Lex Luthor vs Doctor Doom Death Battle
DeleteNot really, and that doesn't change the outcome of this fight though. Especially since unlike Hulk, Doctor Doom does have abilities and powers that, at his best, can scale above universal+ at the end of the day, unlike Hulk and Lex Luthor.
