Death Battle Predictions: All-Might VS Might Guy

To some individuals, “might controls everything”. It is the measure by which the greatest of warriors are judged, and how much of it can determine the amount of respect or fear an individual can command. The final combatants of Death Battle’s sixth season have all the might they can muster and beyond, harnessing their power not just to battle evildoers everywhere but to nurture future generations into becoming even mightier than they are:

All Might, the legendary Number One Hero and Symbol of Peace from My Hero Academia. Might Guy, the Noble Green Beast of the Hidden Leaf Village from Naruto. Shonen Jump sets the curtain call this year with a pair of mighty mentors who have done everything they can to pass on what they know to their successors; both embody great power to the point of putting it in their names, but which of them will prove their might as superior to the other?

Background

All Might

Before he was the Number One Hero known throughout Japan as All Might, Toshinori Yagi was born quirkless in a world where crime rates were high due to evil running rampant thanks to the influence of All For One. When he realized this as a teenager, he believed that the world needed a “Symbol of Peace” that would inspire people and bring in a new age of harmony. Toshinori chose to become that symbol to make sure there would be a world where everyone can smile and live happily ever after together.

Toshinori was trained by the 7th user of One for All, Nana Shimura. She was the one who passed One for All to Toshinori. However, she sacrificed her life when All For One attacked. Afterward, Toshinori was trained by Nana’s close friend Gran Torino, who was also his homeroom teacher at U.A. Academy. After graduation, Toshinori traveled to the United States for training where he met David Shield and later Melissa Shield. Eventually, Toshinori went back to Japan to continue his work of heroism, becoming the Symbol of Peach and Number 1 Hero as All Might.

The crime rate dropped below 6% thanks to All Might, but All For One was still around. Toshinori gained a new partner in Sir Nighteye, who acted as the brains of their partnership. Eventually, All Might battled All For One and defeated him but at the cost of critical injuries that permanently reduced his use of One for All. While All Might refused to step down as the Number 1 Hero and Symbol of Peace, he knew that he needed a successor for One for All. 5 years later, he became a teacher at U.A. Academy in order to find his successor.

It was after those 5 years that All Might came across Izuku Midoriya, a young boy who was born quirkless. Initially, Toshinori told the young boy that it may not be possible for someone to become a hero without a quirk. However, after seeing young Midoriya risking his life to save fellow classmate Katsuki Bakugou from a villain, Toshinori realized that he found his successor.

Toshinori passed down One for All to Midoriya and helped the boy train in order to master the quirk. It even helps that Midoriya got accepted into U.A. Academy. However, there still existed threats toward Midoriya, U.A. Academy, and the hero society such as the rise of the League of Villains and the return of All For One. While Toshinori continued to teach and train Midoriya into becoming the greatest hero despite the villainous threats, his time as All Might continued to shorten.

Eventually, All Might entered a rematch with All For One. After a lengthy, hard-fought battle, Toshinori emerged victoriously. However, the fight had cost him the last remnants of One for All, ending his career as the Number 1 Hero and the Symbol of Peace. Despite all that, Toshinori devoted the rest of his time on Izuku Midoriya’s training and development into becoming the next Symbol of Peace.

Might Guy

Ever since at a young age, Might Guy has been training to get to where he’s at today. His father was Might Duy, a man who’s famous for being known as the “Eternal Genin” in Konoha due to being a genin (the lowest rank for a shinobi) despite being a grown adult. However, Guy still loved his father and would pick fights with anyone who dared mock him. Despite his gift in taijutsu, Guy failed the entrance exam to Konoha’s Ninja Academy thanks to his lack of talent in ninjutsu and genjutsu. Eventually, Guy was able to enter the academy and became classmates with his future rival, Kakashi Hatake.
After graduating into an official shinobi and becoming a member of a ninja team, Guy was taught the Eight Gates by his father. However, Duy told his son that the Eight Gates came with a self-imposed rule: sacrificing one’s self to save something/someone precious. Eventually, Guy’s life would change when the Third Shinobi World War took place. During a mission in the war, Guy and his team were attacked by the Seven Swordsmen of  Kirigakure. However, Duy came to their rescue and sacrificed his life by unlocking all eight gates to fight off the swordsmen, killing four to six of them depending on the canon.

Afterward, Guy would develop his rivalry with Kakashi by challenging him in numerous competitions. However, they would also develop a mutual friendship and would work together in various missions, especially when the Nine-Tailed Fox attacked Konoha. When Kakashi lost his teammates and sensei, Guy made sure that his rival/best friend didn’t lose himself and stray towards a path of darkness.

Guy eventually heard about Rock Lee, a young student who was unable to use ninjutsu or genjutsu. He encouraged Lee to use his youth to keep on training and eventually became his jounin sensei, leading him and two other students: Tenten and Neji Hyuga. Guy dedicated his life to helping Lee achieve his dream of being a great shinobi who specializes in only taijutsu. He taught Lee everything he knew of taijutsu, including the Eight Gates. Guy even taught Lee the keys to self-improvement taught to him by his father and encouraged Lee’s rivalry with his teammate Neji.

Might Guy played a role in the battle against the Akatsuki, most notably his frequent fights with the Akatsuki member Kisame Hoshigaki. During the Fourth Shinobi World War, Guy sacrificed his life by unlocking all eight gates and nearly killed Madara Uchiha as a result. However, instead of dying, Guy’s life was saved at the last minute by Naruto Uzumaki. However, too much damage done to his leg ended Guy’s career as a shinobi. But despite being confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life, Might Guy continues to train as his flames of youth refused to die out.

Equipment

(All Might doesn’t really carry any equipment)

Might Guy

Kusarigama

Latest by Dynamo1212
This is a traditional Japanese weapon used mostly by Ninja. It’s sickle with a chain feature that allows the user of the Kusarigama to wrap foes around with the chain or disable their weapons before finishing them off with the blade.

Nunchaku

Nunchaku by Dynamo1212
A common weapon about Martial-Artists, Guy uses these two sticks connected by a chain in combat to bash enemies with a considerable amount of blunt force trauma.

Sōshūga

These are Guy’s own pair of personal nunchaku. They are modeled after the Chinese Dragon and can be split into several parts which he can use in fights when he can’t use his fists.

Abilities

All Might

One For All

Image result for all might one for all"

The origin of One For All started with two brothers. One brother, who would later become the villain All For One, has the power to steal other people’s Quirks and transfer them into someone else. The other brother, on the other hand, had no Quirk. At least, not that they were aware of. All For One forcibly transferred a Quirk into his brother, the ability to stockpile power within one’s own body. However, it turns out that the brother did have a Quirk, which only has the ability of it being transferred to other people.

These two Quirks merged, becoming One For All. Knowing he couldn’t beat All For One, the brother decided to entrust One For All to future generations with the hope that they can defeat All For One. All Might is the 8th person to have One For All, which has grown stronger since All For One’s brother had used it. By channeling this power through his body, All Might gained superhuman strength, speed, agility, and durability. All Might proficiency with One For All allowed him to be widely known as Japan’s Number 1 Hero.

Muscle Form

While it is not explained how it works, All-Might’s muscle form is speculated to be a result of him tapping him into the power of One for All in order to increase his muscle mass and form. It is very likely that before the injury he suffered at the hands of All for One, this was his base form and he didn’t need to shift between the two forms. Now post-injury, he needs to shift into his Muscle Form to be effective as a hero.

California Smash

Image result for california smash"
All Might attack with a frontal somersault leading into a downward punch. This move was first used against a villain while he was studying abroad in the United States.

Nebraska Smash

While throwing a punch, All Might rotates his arm to create a tornado.

Texas Smash

This powerful straight punch creates a massive amount of wind pressure. So much so that it can level half of a city with a single blow.

Detroit Smash

All-Might does a downward punch that creates a shock wave large and is strong enough to change the weather around him.

Missouri Smash

All-Might uses a single straight chop in order to strike at the opponent quickly.

Carolina Smash

All-Might attacks with a double hand chop that crosses the opponent's body, damaging them.

New Hampshire Smash

All-Might blasts towards his opponent and smashes his body into their enemy, crushing them.

Oklahoma Smash

All-Might spins around with a great force, so much so that enemies go flying off him.

United States of Smash

All Might’s most powerful technique. Using the last remnants of One For All left in him, All Might delivers a massive punch with enough force to reverberate shock-waves.

Might Guy

Chakra

Chakra is the physical and spiritual energy located on every cell of the body and gained through exercise and experience. It's basically a cross between chi and stamina as the two are directly linked. Though other methods exist, Hand Seals are the main way to channel Chakra through 361 different points over the body so it can be manipulated to perform a variety of acts like walking on water, ceilings or sheer cliffs, creating elemental attacks, creating illusions, etc.

While anything capable of using chakra can use non-elemental chakra, they also have an affinity to a certain element that lets them give elemental properties to their techniques boosting their power and efficiency. Might Guy has an affinity for fire and lightning chakra nature. While Guy is capable of performing ninjutsu and genjutsu, he rarely does so but is at least knowledgeable about them.

Fire Techniques

It's revealed that Might Guy has a chakra nature of fire, but he hasn’t displayed which fire jutsu he can do in both the anime and the manga.

Lighting Techniques

It's revealed that Might Guy has a chakra nature of lightning, but he hasn’t displayed which lightning jutsu he can do in both the anime and the manga.

Taijutsu

Guy’s strongest attribute as a ninja is his legendary skills at Taijutsu, so much so that Madara Uchiha - one of the most skilled ninja in the Naruto series - called Guy the strongest Taijutsu user ever and he is not wrong when it comes to that assessment. Guy has mastered many techniques that he applies through his fighting style - The Strong Fist. The Strong Fist has been classified as being the exact opposite of the Gentle Fist which is a fighting-style used by the Hyuga Clan. While the Gentle Fist relies on quick, precise strikes, the Strong Fist relies on physically overpowering your enemy through powerful strikes and kicks, focusing on strength rather than speed. Guy has built up many techniques using this fighting style.

Leaf Techniques

These techniques are a specialty for Might Guy and emphasize the use of the user’s feet rather than their fists. Some of the Leaf Techniques are strong enough to create entire Whirlwinds. In terms of the techniques that are in this subsection of Strong Fist:

  • Leaf Drop: Delivers a falling kick to the opponent, it is strong enough to crumble the environment around her
  • Leaf Gale: Guy does a rear spinning kick that makes the target spin-away causing them to lose balance.
  • Leaf Gust: An effective strike that involves spinning at a fast rate and follows with a powerful high spinning kick to the opponent.
  • Leaf Whirlwind: Guy can use a high kick as a feint before following up with a low kick. Guy then finishes her off with a powerful spinning roundhouse kick in the air.
  • Leaf Coil Wind: Performed by making a handstand with his legs outstretched and spins around to create a wind to clear a small area of thick mist.
  • Leaf Coil Whirlwind: Performed a powerful roundhouse kick to a single opponent.
  • Leaf Great Flash: Guy performs a powerful lateral kick to the head by charging at them. This sends them flying.
  • Leaf Great Whirlwind: Guy performs this attack with a low kick followed up with a middle kick and a high kick and ends with a heel drop to the opponent. Rock Lee used this in the Sasuke Retrieval Arc.
  • Leaf Strong Whirlwind: Might Guy does a spinning back kick that is difficult to track. He then follows it up with a powerful attack that can create a whirlwind around the user. He used this technique against Kisame.
  • Leaf Rock-Destroying Rise: Uses the elbow on the foe by smashing their elbow and uses the other arm to support it. It is strong enough to shatter rock and coral, hence the name.

Dynamic Techniques

These techniques are usually used to open a fight with Guy using a kick or a punch to start the fight:

  • Dynamic Entry: Usually the move Guy first uses when fighting a target, Guy will perform a kick into the target’s face.
  • Dynamic Action: Guy flips towards the target and then attacks them with a series of punches and kicks.
  • Double Dynamic Entry: This is an attack that Might Guy does together with Rock Lee, they kick the enemy at the same time.

Eight Gates Techniques

These techniques are exclusively used when Might Guy enters the higher stages of the Eight Gates (6th, 7th, and 8th). These techniques are easily Guy’s most powerful techniques and the ones he will pull out if he is fighting a particularly strong enemy.

Morning Peacock

Guy kicks the enemy into the air, and then Guy launches himself into the air before punching the enemy repeatedly. These punches are so fast that they are set ablaze due to the sheer friction that is created through the punches. These punches are in the shape of a peacock’s tail, hence the name.

Daytime Tiger

After Guy opens the 7th Gate the user places their palm in front of their face and then taps it with his other hand, formed into a fist, which creates a massive amount of air pressure. Guy then forms a hand-seal that resembles a tiger. The Tiger is made out of the air and launches a lot of air pressure in the shape of a tiger. The air pressure then condenses and moves to a single point. Guy then can cause it to explode on contact, releasing all the wind pressure.

Evening Elephant

Guy continuously assaults the enemy with five attacks, each attack becoming even faster than before. It creates a canon of pressurized air that looks like an elephant’s leg. This is one of Guy’s most damaging techniques.

Night Guy

Guy’s most dangerous technique, he initiates the technique by saying "amass". When he says this word Guy emits an enormous amount of red steam (also known as Steam of Blood). His Chakra transforms into a giant red dragon that forms around his body. After Guy shouts “flow”, he dashes forward at blinding speeds (so much so that it distorts the space around it) that make it impossible for any target even someone like Madara to defend against it. Guy then attacks the enemy with an extremely powerful kick that is able to completely obliterate the target's body. It then creates massive shockwaves - ending the technique. This technique was able to almost killed Madara and if it wasn’t for his amazing regeneration he would have died. However, after this technique, it drains the user’s strength completely - after which their body slowly becomes ash which would have been the fate given to Guy if Naruto hasn’t stepped in.

Summoning

A technique whereby the user calls forth ninja tools/objects, people and clones or use a blood sacrifice to summon a creature they have contracted with from across space-time and other dimensions.

Might Guy has a contract with ninja tortoises which allows him to summon them as he wishes. While Guy prefers taijutsu most of the time, he will summon his ninja tortoises when the situation calls for it. The most notable tortoise Guy summons is Ningame, though the shinobi hasn’t summoned him in years until the final fight with Kisame Hoshigaki in Naruto Shippuden. Guy can also summon a small messenger tortoise that can light up with the words "S.O.S." to signal allies for help.

Eight Gates

The Eight Gates exist in order to limit the flow of chakra within an individual's body. Ordinarily, individuals can use no more than 20% of their body's full potential. It’s the brain's way of protecting the individual from harming their body through overexertion. With each opened gate, individuals are given access to more and more of their body's chakra, thus increasing their physical strength and speed. Using the Eight Gates can be described as a double-edged sword.

Although opening the gates does briefly give the user power greater than what they're normally capable of, this increased power causes the user serious harm. At a minimum, the user will be fatigued, which can leave them vulnerable to attack if this occurs during combat. In more extreme cases, muscles can tear and bones can break from the strain, which can be treated with medical ninjutsu. When opening the eighth and final gate, users will die as a consequence, their bodies being unable to survive the immense amounts of chakra flowing through them.

When opening one of the Eight Gates, users are typically shown opening all preceding gates as well, though it is not clear if this is actually required. To have all of the Eight Gates open at once is known as Eight Gates Released Formation.

  • Gate of Opening: Located in the brain and removes the user's mental inhibitions. Opening this gate allows the user to perform the Front Lotus, a technique that tires them afterward.
  • Gate of Healing: Located in the brain and increases the user's physical strength. This has the added effect of re-energizing the body, enabling it to rapidly recover from exhaustion.
  • Gate of Life: Located on the spinal cord and turns the user's skin red when opened. Other effects include the user's pupils disappearing, their hair standing on end, and bulging veins all over their body. Opening this gate allows the user to perform the Reverse Lotus.
  • Gate of Pain: Located on the spinal cord and increases the user’s physical speed. However, the user’s muscles start to tear. Opening the gate also causes the user’s nose to start bleeding.
  • Gate of Limit: Located in the abdomen and increases the user's physical strength. However, the user’s limbs receive compound fractures afterward.
  • Gate of View: Located in the stomach and increases all the user's abilities. The power that emanates from the user is enough to displace the surrounding bodies of water. Opening this gate allows the user to perform the Morning Peacock. Opening this gate has sometimes been shown to create a green aura around the user.
  • Gate of Wonder: Located below the stomach and causes the user's body to secrete a blue sweat. Opening this gate allows the user to perform the Daytime Tiger. After opening this gate, the user's muscle fibers rupture, causing them intense pain if anyone touches them.
  • Gate of Death: Located at the heart. Users open this gate by puncturing their chest with their thumb in order to direct the chakra there. While open, the user's heart pumps at maximum speed, granting them power a hundred times greater than they are usually capable of, far beyond that of the Five Kage. "Steam of Blood" is emitted from the user's pores and hair, resembling a flaming red aura. The eighth gate causes the body to continually heat up until it's been cooked from the inside-out, reducing the user to ash.

All Might

Even though All Might is the Symbol of Peace, even he has major weaknesses. For starters, we all know by now that All-Might suffers from his injury from his first fight with All For One. Showing that while powerful, he can still be harmed and overpowered. His use of One For All can be very destructive, so he will not go max out if others will get harmed in the crossfire. (Lucky For DB, this will not matter). One For All also does not give the user a healing factor since All Might’s stomach was lost and his respiratory system was damaged beyond repair. When All Might suffers a major blow, his usage of One For All becomes limited and shortens every time he overuses it. Most importantly, his United States of Smash is only a last resort since using all of his power will permanently disable his connection from One For All forever.

Might Guy

Might Guy “might” be one of the strongest Jonin in Konoha, but even he has his weaknesses. Several of the Eight Gates carry drawbacks. While the early stages are no problem to him, the later stages have still been shown to affect him. The Gate of Wonder ruptures Guy’s muscle fibers after using it, while the Gate of Death eventually kills him. While he does know how to use certain chakra techniques, he has yet to use them due to the fact he focuses more on taijutsu. This can cause problems when fighting against foes that can counter his taijutsu. Also, Guy has a terrible memory and forgot Madara’s name by the time of Boruto.

Summary

All Might

Advantages:
  • Likely smarter
  • Might be just as experienced?
  • Since DB will likely be using All Might in his prime, he won’t have to worry about fighting on a time limit
  • He is here

Disadvantages:
  • Far weaker and slower even in his prime

Might Guy

Image result for might guy thumbs up"

Advantages:
  • Stronger and more durable even without Eighth Gate
  • MUCH faster
  • Eighth Gate only increases the gap in stats
  • More skilled
  • Actually carries equipment
  • Has the power of youth

Disadvantages:
  • Going into Eighth Gate will kill him (Not like he needs it though)

Verdicts

So….my life was busy. Death Battle has shown The Mask Vs. DP, which was amazing. Enjoyed Thanksgiving with my family, and done Black Friday shopping. Watched The Game Awards, which was good with HellBlade 2 in development. GERARDO gave me A CHRISTMAS PRESENT, THanks for the honor Gerardo if you read this!!! And... I got sick just after I finished my college classes for the semester on Friday. Yelp, very busy. Besides that, I am happy that All-Might Vs. Might Guy is the fight that will be finishing off this season based on last year’s first 50/50 CoDB.

Not going to do long research reason due to Malcolm Belmont doing the honor, which by the way Belmont, you did an amazing job on. But yeah...I do not see All-Might winning this. I love both characters with their personalities and passion to hold a smile no matter what, but it just Might Guy just outclasses AM (All-Might) in almost all categories. Unless there is some hidden detail in research that will give AM the win, MG (Might Guy) is just on a different level.
At the end of the finale of Season 6 of Death Battle, All-Might was just not the right Guy.

My thoughts of the season as a whole was good despite the rocky start of the year. The death of ScrewAttack was a hard blow for all of us who were with the company from the beginning, and it also affected me truly. Also, the changes for the start of the season was…. different.  Despite that, the halfway point was the game-changer that made this season amazing, starting with Aang Vs. Edward. From there, Ben Singer made his Death Battle Game come true, DevilArtmesis and friends made a Death Battle episode amazing, and I became a G1 member. It was a great ride to see how the years can be so fast. Thank you, everyone, for an amazing year of predictions and research. I hope you all have a great Christmas, a Happy New Year, and a great break. See you all next year, and Stay Awesome.

Ramen=Noodles

So the season’s over. Well, I guess it’s formally over --  I tuned out hard after Dracula turned Ganondorf into some crispy AF Lechon. Only 4 matches this year really captured my attention, and while they’re all still amazing, I think this year within the context of DB has been an exercise in taming expectations with regards to personal investment into the fights that drop.

Case in point: All Might is going to die and they chose him to fight Guy which means Bang was robbed.

...on the other hand, did I really want to subject myself to a possible sequel to “NOBODY KNOWS” because “lol blazblue”? That actually still gives me PTSD. (Side note: BlazBlue and especially Ragna get shit on a lot in these VS shows and that’s both saddening and infuriating.)

Anyway, fight belongs to Guy. All Might certainly has a claim to being one of the most powerful characters in MHA canon, and he isn’t going to be surpassed for a while seeing as Izuku and the rest of his buddies are still growing, but nothing he’s gone through or basically anything from his universe is gonna help him survive against someone who blatantly outclasses him in every area that conceivably matters. Even doing away with other factors such as Eighth Gate being a suicide attack -- one that All Might have no business surviving, or Yagi’s 2-hour time limit which Guy can certainly outlast for easy pickings, Guy has enough advantages going in to comfortably take home the second Naruto W on the show.

Now only if we don’t have to analyze any of the students or anyone else from MHA for future fights until they get stronger. Isn’t that right, Death Battle?

Malcolm Belmont

Hey it’s Malcolm Belmont and it’s time for the season finale of this season of DEATH BATTLE, All-Might vs Might Guy and as much as I think this fight is going to look really cool in terms of the animation side and I like both of these combatants - I would be lying if I said that the winner of this DEATH BATTLE wasn’t obvious, as much as I like close matchups I would definitely say in terms of the battle between these two mentors, All-Might is definitely going to be the loser in this fight.

Let’s talk Strength, Might Guy while in the 7th Gate created a blast bigger than an island and knocked back Madara and his Susanoo while also creating a large blast larger than nearby mountains. The fact that he fought Madara whom creating a giant meteor that was capable of Mountian Busting means that the Might Guy feats of beating characters who had the very least have Mountain Levels of Destructive Capability are consistent. But this is not even Guy’s best. Considering in 8th Gate State he was capable of matching Madara who become the 10 tails Jinchurki. The 10th Tails was capable of destroying entire mountain ranges and entire cities with a single shot and did this which means the 10th Tails is at least Country Level. The fact that Guy managed to almost end Madara while he had all the power of the 10 Tails makes him at least Country to Multi-Continent Level. Even if you completely ignore 8th Gate out of the equation due to the fact that it kills the user, Guy should still be at least Mountain to Country Level. As for All-Might. As for All-Might’s Strength, he was capable of changing the weather with his punches. This has been calculated to require 876.38 Megatons of TNT. While this feat is impressive as should put All-Might at Mountain Level, Guy should still be stronger as he has fought enemies with Multi-Continent Durability and has hurt Country Level enemies even ignoring 8th Gate. So while this is close at the base, Might’s high-end feats give him the win in this category.

As for Speed. Considering his main rival is “Kakashi” and the two have been shown to be on equal footing numerous times, he should be comparable to him. Kakashi was able to intercept Kakuzu’s Lightning Release: False Darkness with his Raikiri. This has been calculated to be at Mach 2225.09 aka Massively Hypersonic +. This safely puts Guy’s speed at Massively Hypersonic. As for All-Might, he is the fastest character in the series and as such should be comparable to his successor Deku who managed to time explosions at Mach 15 and dodge automatic fire. If we scale All-Might to Deku (which is needed) then he would at the very least be at Hypersonic Speeds. Fairly impressive but nothing compared to the speed that Guy is scaling to. As such Might Guy definitely has the edge in speed.

Their Durability should scale to their Destructive Capability Giving Guy the edge in Durability but for comparison's sake, let's take a look at their Durability Feats. While in 7th Gate Guy survived the blast of his own Afternoon Tiger attack, considering Afternoon Tiger was able to match Kisame’s attack. Kisame himself matched Killer B who fought Sasuke whom at the time displayed a Mountian Level attack should put Kisame and by extension Guy at around Mountain Level Durability but likely much higher than that when considering he has tanked attacks from the likes of Madara who has displayed Country Level feats and the Four-Tailed Monkey, Son Goku. As for All-Might, he has tanks attacks from the likes of All For One who busted a City Block. His attacks could also definitely destroy a city. This should put his durability at City Block Level but probably City Level at least. So Guy definitely wins in terms of durability.

So if we take a look at their stats, Guy is clearly better, right? But the sad thing is, if All-Might had the hax advantage or other ways - he could bypass Guy’s superior durability and kill him but that’s sadly not the case as All-Might does not really have any hax like that to speak of. He basically relies on his strength, speed, and durability which has allowed him to work well in the relatively weak MHA Verse but in the Naruto Verse - where the power levels are MUCH higher - it really doesn’t mean much. All-Might is simply outclassed in everywhere that matters. Sad to say that I don’t see how All-Might can pull a win here so I would definitely go with Guy. Looks like the Mightiest will be Might Guy.

EpicLinkSam

The Death Battle Season is over, and they choose to wrap it up via killing the first My Hero Academia rep. Surprised that they’re using Naruto again so soon, considering Sasuke was used a few episodes ago.

I’m not that interested in My Hero Academia, but I do know the general idea of their stats and stuff. All Might dies to Might Guy. The stat gap is just absurd. All Might at most is something around Mountain. Might Guy far outstrips that as Mountain is in his lower-tier forms. He far outspeeds as well. Guy doesn’t even need all eight gates to win this fight.

And a reminder that anyone that uses that fricking Madara copypasta can be silenced by saying “Might Guy.” I hear that All Might is a cool character, and from the stuff I’ve seen, I can understand why.

On the bright side, Might Guy is one of the quality Naruto characters, so that makes it worth it.

So yeah, Might Guy is gonna show All Might the power of youth.

VampyreNVRmore

It’s finally the end of Season 6, isn’t it? Time really flies. This past season has been a wild one. I helped out on the blog for 5 previous episodes this season with All Might vs Might Guy being the sixth one. It’s crazy. Anyway, I’m really excited for what’s to come in Season 7. There are some really cool matchups I want to see happen. Maybe I should write a blog about it. I’ve seen other people do the same. Oh. Before I start on the actual verdict for the upcoming episode, here’s a small Christmas gift to you guys that I got from Deadpool vs the Mask.

I really loved that part. Anyway, onto All Might vs Might Guy. To be honest, this is actually the first Death Battle where I genuinely don’t want either combatant to die. Both are two cool, righteous guys who inspired their students to become stronger fighters/heroes. But hey, this is Death Battle after all. Someone’s going to have to die. Sadly, the combatant getting killed in this episode will be All Might.

In terms of strength, All Might’s best strength feat is changing the weather with a single punch. The calculation for that feat resulted in 876.38 megatons of TNT, which puts All Might’s strength at mountain level. While the feat took place after his injury from his first fight with All For One, it was also the only highest feat we’ve ever seen from All Might. None of All Might’s other feats, or any feats from other characters, ever reached that high. As for Might Guy, his highest strength feat was destroying a portion of Madara’s body. And Madara wasn’t an Edo Tensei zombie when Guy did that. To make this more impressive, Madara Uchiha is a multi-continent character. However, Guy doesn’t need to go all out to defeat All Might. While in 7th Gate, Guy was able to knock back Madara and his Susanoo. Also during his fight with Kisame, Guy created a blast that was larger than the island. Such a feat would require more amounts than anything mountain level.

In terms of speed, it’s no contest that Might Guy has the advantage. Probably the most notorious weakness that the My Hero Academia universe has is how slow their characters are. Even the fastest characters of the series are only at Hypersonic. The highest speed feat displayed that All Might scales is Deku timing explosions, which clocks out at Mach 15. As for Might Guy, he scales to Kakashi, who has a speed of blocking lightning. That feat clocks out at Mach 2225.09, which is at least 148.5 times faster than the Mach 15 feat. And let’s not forget that Might Guy speed blitzed Madara after unlocking all 8 Gates.

Finally, in terms of durability, All Might’s best durability feats consists of getting blasted through several buildings by All For One, tanking Bakugo’s strongest explosions, and getting crushed and skewered by metal. It should be noted that All For One scales to All Might as he’s able to hurt the Symbol of Peace and survive hits from him. However, Might Guy’s durability is higher for numerous reasons. He survived the island level blast from his fight with Kisame, taken hits from transformed jinchuriki and tailed beasts, and exchanged blows from Madara, who I mentioned before is a multi-continent level character.

It should be noted that these are the only categories that truly matter in deciding the outcome of this match. Both combatants only use physical combat when it comes to fighting. All Might doesn’t use any equipment and didn’t unlock the other powers within One for All, unlike Midoriya. And while Might Guy does possess fire and lightning nature chakra, he never displayed which jutsus he knows relating to them. In fact, the only ninjutsu technique he displayed is the Summoning Jutsu, but he rarely has his summon animals assist him in battle unlike other known users such as Kakashi, Jiraiya, and Orochimaru.

One more thing that needs to be talked about is Yūga Aoyama’s naval laser. There’s this misconception that it’s lightspeed because some “statement” of it being a real laser. The reason this is brought up is that there are characters, whom All Might scale too, who have dodged the naval laser and therefore people assume that they are FTL (faster than light). I’ve seen many people believe this misconception, so I felt that it needs to be addressed. Let me just say that Aoyama’s laser is in fact NOT an actual lightspeed laser. Throughout the series, Aoyama’s laser curves through the air hit with concussive force and can be used to propel Aoyama through the air. All of these are elements an actual lightspeed laser shouldn’t perform. Because the naval “laser” exhibits multiple properties dissimilar from real light, it doesn’t share the same speed as real light.

Overall, it’s very clear cut why Might Guy should win. While the fight is not an ideal one to end the season, it’ll be very entertaining to watch in 3D animation. In the end, Toshinori couldn’t smash Might Guy with All (his) Might.

Yo. So uh, All Might vs Might Guy. Dope fight, dope fight. Easy win for Guy, but still cool. Glad to see a My Hero Academia character enter the ring, and while it’s sad that said MHA character is gonna die, Guy’s cool too. And hey, Nardo needs a win, their record ain’t looking too hot right now.
Anyway, time to actually explain why Guy wins. The others have done so pretty well, but I’ll go in-depth anyway.
Starting with AP, All Might’s best feat comes from the very beginning of the series, when he changed the weather for kilometers with his punch against the Sludge Villain, a feat calc’d to 876.38 megatons, which is large city/mountain level.
Now, this obviously would not be his limit when he’s in his prime, but we don’t really have anything solid to go off of for his prime. I guess we could multiply it by 60 or whatever based on his statement after the fight with Nomu, but 1) that’s calc stacking, and 2) throwing 60 times fewer punches is not the same as the individual punches being 60 times stronger, that’s not how it works. So a large city level is the best you can really put All Might without speculation. I feel like DB is probably going to use the multiplier, though, because it’s all we have to go off of, so whatever. 876.38 megatons * 60 = 52582.8 megatons, or 52.5 gigatons, which is island level. Don’t really like that kind of thinking, but whatever, it doesn’t matter.
Note: All Might does have a multi-continent level feat in a video game where he clears clouds above Japan, but it’s so ludicrously far above anything he’s done in canon that it shouldn’t be included.
Guy varies depending on what gate he’s in, obviously, but DB doesn’t do “character x kills character y before he transforms” (to be clear, I’m not saying that such a thing is likely or even possible in this circumstance), and Ben did state on the Cast that Guy winning in the 8th Gate counts as a W even if he dies later, so to save time, I’m just gonna skip over Base Guy and each of his earlier gates, and talk mainly about what he can do in 8th Gate.
Now, the big thing peeps are all talking about is the fact that he nearly killed Ten-Tails Madara, the untouchable meme himself. Now, this was single Rinnegan Madara, so not the one that scales to Six Paths Naruto and Sasuke, meaning Guy probably doesn’t scale to moons getting split apart and launched into orbit. Buuuuuuut, this version of Madara had absorbed the Juubi, which is capable of dishing out 10.78 petatons of TNT while in an incomplete state. That’s continent level, and 8th Gate Guy scales to it via blowing out half of Madara’s torso and nearly killing him when he had this thing powering him up.
So Guy nearly killed a dude who’s *checks calculator* 205 THOUSAND times more powerful than a calc-stacked All Might. Meaning, one hit from 8th Gate Guy is gonna pulverize Toshinori without question, even if we don’t account for him warping space and all that.
In terms of speed, it’s still pretty bad for the Symbol of Peace. Even in base, Guy is comparable if not superior to his rival Kakashi, who can cut and intercept lightning, hundreds to potentially even thousands of times faster than sound, and each gate massively amps him. The best All Might can possibly scale to reliably is Iida’s Mach 40 feat, which pales in comparison. This isn’t even getting into the level of speed you could argue for 8th Gate, which was blitzing Madara.
Now, there are one or two lines of thinking you could use to mayyyyyybe stretch All Might to be comparable in speed (well, to base Guy at least, lol). For one, I’ve done some thinking about whether Kaminari’s electrical attacks could be considered comparable in speed to actual lightning (Tokoyami’s Dark Shadow reacted to them, and All Might is obviously >>> Dark Shadow). However, given that Kaminari’s electricity has a stated voltage of 1.3 million, and lightning has a voltage of 1 billion, it seems pretty unlikely to me that it could be considered to be on the same level as real lightning.
There’s also been some discussion about Aoyama’s laser being potentially lightspeed, and while I now think the argument for it is better than I did at the beginning of the debate…it still doesn’t really act like a laser, there’s still only one instance of a character reacting to it (and going strictly off the manga, there’s no way to prove it wasn’t aim-dodging), and there are still no other speed feats in the verse that comes close to it. And if we really wanna be lenient with it, there are plenty of similarly iffy “lightspeed” feats and statements that we could scale Guy to (Haku, the Fourth Raikage, etc.), so I really don’t think there’s any way All Might isn’t at a serious disadvantage unless you give him more leeway than you give Guy.
Beyond that, you’ve just got stuff like Guy being a clearly more skilled martial artist, having considerably better stamina via his showings in the War Arc, using actual weaponry, etc., and it just ends up with me being fairly confident that Y O U T H !!! will prevail. Again, it’ll be a bit sad to see All Might go, but that’s the nature of DB.
The Symbol of Peace will certainly give it his All, but in the end, his opponent is simply the Mightier Guy.

So All Might vs Might Guy a mighty fine and excellent choice to end off a massive season for DB. With how much the 2 have in common starting out as ordinary people before achieving incredible power and fame by never-ending hard work and effort, literally ending their careers by using every last spark they have left and raising a young boy that’s like a son to them by proving you can achieve anything by working hard enough even without having the special gifts others are born with.

But with introductions out of the way I am here to give a rundown of the match and as everyone before me has said Guy takes this hands down.

All Might’s best AP feat is from the very beginning of the series when he took out the villain Sludge with a Detroit Smash bringing in a large thunderstorm storm in the process, this has been calculated at 876.38 megatons of TNT mountain level+ (or large city level+ depending on what terminology you prefer). This isn’t his peak as he was injured and past his prime, we don’t have enough clear indication of All Might’s Prime capabilities unless you use the power chart from the movie or his claim about being able to take out Nomu in 5 hits which makes his prime 60x stronger or 52.5 gigatons but it’s still a dubious method I wouldn’t recommend using.

As for Guy while it’s possible he isn’t of this level in Base form he’s able to easily match up to par with this level of strength using the 8 inner gates which he’s shown being belt to go instantly to the Sixth gate to even the Seventh Gate on the spot. In this state, he should at least be comparable to Rock Lee who in the Sixth Gate destroyed a meteor requiring 810 megatons of TNT to pull off. But let’s not ignore the final gate the Gate of Death (or the Gate to Toshinori’s in this case).
The same state that was dominating the untouchable Madara Uchiha himself as the Jubi Jinchuriki, to the point Madara himself says he would have died if not for his regeneration. While this Madara had only 1 Rinnegan eye and before absorbing the Shinju tree, he was still more powerful than the incomplete Jubi that’s capable of producing feats of 5.14 to 10.78 petatons of TNT. That’s literally hundreds of thousands of times more powerful than All Might’s best so needless to say any hit is ending Toshinori and that’s not even considering Night Guy is capable of bending space so he can’t defend against it.

As for speed this also heavily favors Guy as he’s just as fast if not faster than his lifelong rival Kakashi even in base who’s fast enough to interpret lighting something calculated at Mach 2225 and with the 8th guy he’s many times more powerful than all the Kage combined backed up by all 5 kage together losing to a far weaker Madara then Guy was blitzing this included Onoki who moved in tandem with a meteor at Mach 5060 all these is well over hundreds of times faster than what All Might scale too.

All this in mind with Guy’s much greater skill in martial arts, greater agility, actual use of weaponry superior stamina it's clear as The Will of Fire to me Guys leaves will fall to bring nourishment to fresh green leaves and his Youth will reach its climax and burn most crimson!

In the end, All Might is the one Symbol of Peace for All, but Guy’s mighty burning youth went beyond plus ultra!

  1. Wow. All Might didn't even get one! Harsh...

  2. It was a hard choice, and I was going to even pick All-Might in how he could have a chance of winning. But, Might Guy's ninja abilities, stats, and power of the Gates would be too much for AM to handle in our prediction. A great indeed for the finale. I do hope you all enjoyed this final prediction of the season.
