Death Battle Predictions: Genos VS War Machine

Many of fiction’s greatest heroes are born with the amazing abilities that allow them to battle like gods, but others are built from the ground up to achieve the same greatness. Heavy heapings of state-of-the-art technology and specialized combat training make up for their lack of natural powers, and the next two combatants of the season embody this to a tee. Once sidekicks to more prolific heroes, their skills and legacies have grown to the point that they are recognized as worthy champions in their own right, and Death Battle’s next episode will test them:

Genos, the impulsive Demon Cyborg from One Punch Man. War Machine, Marvel Comics’ steadfast Iron Patriot. As the ultimate combinations of man and machine, they possess unrivaled amounts of ruthless aggression in hunting down evil with all the firepower in the world and more. No longer content to play second fiddle, they take to the battlefield to see who’s arsenals, armor, training and experience will outlast the other; in this clash of East meets West, which one of these heroes will prove that they have the superior tech to survive and triumph?

Background

Genos

The Hero Association has assembled worthy champions of justice from far and wide to face villains that threaten society, each of whom are given letter ranks that designate their strength which determine what types of threats they must respond to. For those who rise through the ranks to prove themselves as a superior class of hero that can defeat foes other heroes and law enforcement cannot, there exists the S-Class - of which only more than a dozen men and women are part of. One of the youngest members of their ranks is the 19-year old Genos, known publicly by his hero moniker, the “Demon Cyborg.”

Four years before his formal hero career began, Genos’ village was attacked by a rampaging cyborg; his family was killed, and while he survived, he would have remained on death’s door if not for the intervention of Dr. Kuseno, an elderly scientist who heeded the young man’s wishes and transformed him into a cyborg. With an array of tremendous weapons and skills at his disposal, Genos entered a partnership with Kuseno to find the rogue cyborg and destroy him. Over time, he travelled throughout multiple settlements in need of aid, and while he provided assistance wherever he could, he could find no word on his elusive target.

In a battle against the villain known as Mosquito Girl, Genos’ life was changed when he witnessed a bald-headed man named Saitama defeat the monstress in a single punch. Seeking to become as powerful as him, Genos declared himself as his disciple in hopes of learning more. Despite their unusual partnership, the two found themselves entering the Hero Association and getting recognized for their accomplishments on the field. Genos has grown to become one of the most battle-tested members of the Association, earning an S-Class rank and continuing to pursue his mission of rising up the ranks further. Although he has yet to reach the level of strength he possesses, his experiences have continued to make him stronger all the same.

War Machine

Born a native of Philadelphia, Lt. Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes served the United States Marine Corps on several tours throughout Southeast Asia and Afghanistan as a combat pilot. It was on one of these tours where he had encountered an unusual sight: playboy billionaire Tony Stark had escaped custody from a group of local terrorists by creating a suit of mechanized armor to fight his way to freedom, and proposed that the two fight together on their way back to a nearby US base. Both men succeeded, and Tony found himself so impressed with Rhodey’s skill in battle, he offered him a position in Stark Industries as his personal pilot. Although he initially declined, Rhodey eventually agreed in time, kickstarting a long-time friendship.

Upon returning to America, Tony further refined his suit’s design with the latest in Stark Industries' proprietary repulsor technology in order to fight crime as the Armored Avenger, Iron Man. Rhodey would do his best to keep up in Tony’s increasingly dangerous adventures, but when Tony found himself deep in the bottle and struggling with his alcoholism, he temporarily relinquished the role of Iron Man to Rhodey for a spell. Despite lacking the technical know-how of his best friend, he proved a worthy successor to the mantle in his stints with the Avengers. The dangers of his new identity increasingly traumatized him to the point where he outright refused to don any suit of armor unless he absolutely needed to.

By the time Rhodey had somewhat made his peace with it, Tony suffered a supposed untimely death, leaving behind one more gift for his best friend: a modified Iron Man suit designed for all-out warfare, the Variable Threat Response Battle Suit, nicknamed “War Machine.” Even after it turned out that Tony survived his apparent demise, this moniker would remain with Rhodey for life, as he continued to don the armor and more on missions that often entail the fate of the world. While he may appear as nothing more than a gunmetal gray copy of the Golden Avenger, War Machine’s own impressive legacy and a deadly arsenal that can wipe out small countries have made him stand out from the very hero he was supposed to imitate over the years.

Equipment

Genos

Cybernetic Body

After losing his human body thanks to a mad cyborg gone rogue, Genos was given a cybernetic one thanks to the brilliant Dr. Kuseno. With this new enhancement, Genos’ limbs and body are completely stronger and more durable than most human bodies as well as an extreme level of speed. Additionally, this new cyborg body can also be modified with an assortment of tools and weapons such as:

Throughout the One-Punch Man series, Genos has gotten multiple upgrades for his cybernetic body after receiving heavy damage from various villains and monsters. While his newer models are pretty similar to his older ones, Genos has now received upgrades that allows him protection electric shocks, acid, heat as well as increasing his overall speed and power. Additionally, Genos can detach and reattach his arms, legs, and entire torso if they get severed by rocket-propelled remote control.

Core

Dr. Kuseno designed Genos’ cyborg parts to be powered by an orb in the hero’s chest labeled “Core”. With this powerful energy device, Genos can increase the power of most of his abilities. He can also take the orb out of his torso and insert it into the slots of one of his weaponry to magnify their strength. If all else fails, Genos can overheat his core as self-destruct suicide attack to take his opponent down with him. Furthermore, Dr. Kuseno gave Genos the ability to taste and made it so his cybernetic body turns organic intake into biofuel, presumably to power his Core.

Rocket Boosters

Genos has powerful boosters on his back, legs and elbows. Once engaged, these boosters enable him amazing acceleration and limited flight. Using his palms for jet propulsion in the opposite direction, Genos can perform rapid maneuvers.

Incineration Cannon

Installed into Genos’ hands are powerful fire-based cannons that allow him to fire large and powerful blasts of heat, fire or plasma across significant distances. He can also control his power output with these weapons, either making huge explosions, a flamethrower, or smaller spurts of energy. A blast from his palms was powerful enough to obliterate a multi-story building, which served as the base of operations for the House of Evolution, as well as the top of the mountain it was situated on and a large chunk of a mountain far in the distance behind the building. His Incineration Cannons have varying levels of power depending on what set of arms he is currently using.

Spiral Incineration Cannon

Spiral Incineration Cannon is an improved and more powerful version of Genos’ Incineration Cannon. It combines two of Genos’s arms together for a more powerful spiraling blast. It was first used against Phoenix Man but was blocked by Elder Centipede. However, the attack was strong enough to damage Elder Centipede's carapace.  It was later that he used this and the above arsenal feature to blow up Elder Centipede from the inside.

Ultra Helix Incineration Blast/Super Spiral Incineration Cannon

The Ultra Helix Incineration Blast (also known as the Super Spiral Incineration Cannon) is the strongest variant of Genos’s incinerator canon. It uses more energy than usual by firing blasts of energy directly out of the core in his chest. First used against Elder Centipede, the attack was capable of burning monster's insides and made him moult. However, it wasn't sufficient enough to permanently end Elder Centipede's life.

Instant Adhesive Gel

After his fight with Speed O’ Sound Sonic, Genos acquired a tool that’ll allow him to deal with opponents faster than him. By spraying the extremely sticky and fast acting adhesive gel on the ground, fast opponents are immobilized from moving which will make them easy targets for Genos.

Arm-Blades

Genos’ arms are each armed with extendable, razor-sharp blades. With them, he can quickly slice through weak monsters with ease.

Arms Mode

Arms Mode is a prototype weapons system Genos possesses that is a specialized arm modification for him. While using these arms, Genos was shown to be able to move his core to the bicep of his left arm and direct all of his power into a massive blast.

Anti-Saitama Tactical Arms

The Anti-Saitama Tactical Arms are arm attachments created for Genos’ initial spar with Saitama. These arms are differentiated from his normal arms by generating beams significantly larger and more powerful than those of his normal arms. Additionally, the fists and forearms of these arms can open to reveal several cannons. If Genos puts both of his fists together, the resulting blast is massive and much larger than that of one arm.

War Machine

Suit Specs

Formally known as the Variable Threat Response Battle Suit, the first War Machine suit was developed by Tony Stark to face the Masters of Silence - a group of villains whose arsenals negated the repulsor weapons used by standard Iron Man armors. An upgraded copy was left behind to Rhodey, which served as the basis by which all future War Machine suits would be based on in terms of appearance and weaponry.

At his base, War Machine shares Iron Man’s use of repulsor blasts, which can be fired from the palms of his hands and serve as the propulsion systems for flight purposes. Unlike Iron Man however, he makes use of more conventional firearms attached to his armor - chief among them the gigantic minigun attached to the suit’s back, but he’s also equipped with other ranged weapons like missiles, grenade launchers, shotguns and lasers.

War Machine also possesses similar physical characteristics as well. The suit can lift past 100 tons, move faster than the speed of sound and withstand more punishment than standard Iron Man armors, thanks to more durable armor plating. While the suit does rely on its power cells to operate, its various preservation systems allow it to absorb any form of energy to refill its supply, and keeps Rhodey healthy even in extreme conditions.

It is worth noting that while the War Machine suit is normally forged via titanium, newer variants have been reinforced by portions of Wakandan Vibranium. While not fully comprised of it, this means that the suit itself is still extremely hard to destroy, thanks to Vibranium’s ability to absorb all kinetic energy in its tracks.

Also, due to most of these armors being created, modified and maintained by Tony Stark himself, War Machine’s performance can often be scaled to Iron Man suits that are older or within the same generation, tech-wise. In layman’s terms, this means that he should be capable of replicating feats accomplished by weaker or older armor sets, or at least those that co-exist within the same time period.

Armor History

War Machine has gone through various model and upgrade changes over the years, although not to the same degree as Iron Man’s. For the purposes of thoroughness, we’ll be listing a few of his notable armors that could be shown in the episode proper.

Variable Threat Response Battle Suit Mark 1 - Iron Man Model 11

The original War Machine suit could directly be compared to the Modular Armor used by Iron Man at the time. As noted above, while it does have similar repulsor-based weaponry, it also boasts a lot of conventional firearms and explosives to deal with threats normally resistant to laser projectiles. The armor plating on the suit is also noted to be further reinforced with heavier shielding on top of the energy field normally on Iron Man armors.

Stanetech / Initiative Suit

Around the mid-2000s, a then-cyborg Rhodey was given a newer War Machine suit - one which was not developed with any Stark technology; this was made in response to Skrull viruses compromising most of Earth’s tech. While acting as a general upgrade, the Stanetech suit was the first to implement War Machines energy absorption features in addition to a more robust A.I. As Rhodey was a cyborg at the time, he could detach and remotely control his limbs to attack enemies from a distance, and his A.I. could allow him to interface with other forms of technology, like turning him into a tank.

Iron Man 2.0

When Rhodey was requested to be a government-sponsored Iron Man, Tony handed him a newer suit that slightly toned down the use of conventional firearms, but came equipped with several upgrades, like the Chameleon and Ghost modes that allow him to turn invisible and intangible respectively, although tech limitations prevents it from doing both at the same time. A specialized combat mode gives War Machine access to a large pool of ammunition and energy for all his weapons against more powerful foes.

Iron Patriot Armor Model 2

After the Skrulls invaded Earth, then-US President Norman Osborn created the Iron Patriot suit using confiscated Stark technology to create the Iron Patriot, a new kind of hero that would lead his faction of “Avengers.” When Osborn’s short-lived term ended, an army of drones modeled after the Patriot were commissioned, but soon went rogue following interference from Advanced Idea Mechanics. The Patriots’ rampant chaos came to a halt when Rhodey interacted with their AI hivemind, and after convincing them of their wrongdoings, he was made their leader, complete with an upgraded version of Osborn’s original Iron Patriot armor.

Stark Unlimited Suit

Rhodey’s most recent suit, developed and used by him near the turn of the All-New, All-Different Marvel arc. Much of it just serves as an upgrade to the normal War Machine armor, and as such, it more or less has access to many of the base abilities and weapons it has.

Satellite Armor

While not the last canonical suit in the War Machine line, this is by far the most absurd of all the armors Rhodey has piloted in his career. During the Skrulls’ secret invasion of Earth, War Machine was tasked with eliminating an incoming armada of Skrull ships from delivering reinforcements. To do so, he fused together with a satellite station left behind to him by Iron Man; its very presence was kept hidden away from the entire world until that point, and it was specifically programmed to respond solely to Rhodey’s commands.

Long story short: the Satellite Armor succeeded in what it had set out to do. With its absurd firepower, War Machine managed to eliminate several hundred Skrull ships within a matter of minutes save for a few stragglers.

We do want to note that this suit is highly likely to be considered non-standard, as it has not been seen since Secret Invasion more than 10 years ago. However, mentions of the satellite still being linked to Rhodey have been made in the interim, so a faint chance that this could be included in the rundown somewhere still remains.

Abilities

Genos

Machine Gun Blow

One of his signature techniques, Genos throws a barrage of fast but powerful punches. It’s strong enough to shatter a cliff face.

Lightning Eye

Genos uses his eye to produce a blinding flash of light. It was first used against the Deep Sea King.

Boost Attack

After using his left arm for jet propulsion in the opposite direction, Genos maneuvers towards his opponent and hits them with a strong kick from his left leg.

Rocket Punch

Genos’ forearm is retractable due to a cable connected to his elbow, which gives this attack great range. He punches at his opponent with extreme force with the aid of boosters inside his lower arm and, after the punch, his arm retracts back to his previous state.

High Voltage Fist

Rocket Stomp

Genos leaps up above his opponent and then propels himself downwards with the rocket boosters on his back to stomp into the ground with enough force to make shockwaves and craters.

Dual Blade Rush

Genos jumps into the air, equips both arm-blades and rushes towards the target with his rocket boosters, proceeding to stab the opponent rapidly.

Jet Drive Arrow

Genos uses his rocket booster at full power to deliver a powerful kinetic kick while his leg releases sharp blades in the shape of an arrowhead. It’s strong enough to break one of Elder Centipede’s teeth.

Lightning Core

Genos uses his core to produce a blinding flash of light, blinding his opponent and giving him an opportunity to attack.

War Machine

Repulsor Blasts / Unibeam

Standard-issue equipment for any Iron Man suit, the repulsor blasts often take the form of concussive energy beams fired out of the suit’s palms. The repulsors themselves are described as high-density beams of muon - particles similar to electrons but much more massive. While primarily used for offensive purposes, the repulsor units can also stabilize suit flight over any period of air travel.

The armor’s energy can be redirected towards its chest node to perform a more powerful repulsor blast, referred to as a Unibeam. While more taxing on its energy reserves, the Unibeam can put down foes normally resistant to regular blasts, and has often remained something of a trump card both Iron Man and War Machine can fall back on if needed.

Lasers

Wrist-mounted lasers attached to newer armors. For the most part, they should serve the same purposes as normal repulsor blasts.

Gatling Gun

A powerful automatic machine gun added to his right shoulder, which fires many bullets simultaneously

Minigun

Because having a gun on his shoulder wasn’t enough he also has one on his arm!

Flamethrower

On the War Machine Armour there is a wrist mounted flamethrower that has been used in combat by both Rhodes and Frank Castle. It can be used as a short ranged attack or be used to cut up metal doors as well as structures. It’s main weaknesses are it’s lack of range and the fact that the fire can burn everything around Rhodes so he needs to be careful when using it.

Rocket Launchers

Attached to War Machine’s arms and shoulders are various rocket launchers, which can fire projectiles as fast as a machine gun and are capable of destroying large objects.

EMP

Standard-issue for most modern War Machine suits, EMPs are handy for shutting down all electricity within a large radius, enough to shut down everything within a small city.

Grenades

War Machine in certain armours carries multiple types of grenades that he can use whilst in combat. In terms of which types of grenades he can use - it has been shown that War Machine is capable of using Incendiary Grenades which can cause fiery explosions as well as Gas Grenades in order to disorientate enemies.

Energy Absorption

Like his buddy, Iron Man - War Machine has been shown capable of absorbing energy based attacks or absorbing the energy of others - such as the time he absorbed the energy of a self-destructing Super-Skrull. War Machine has also shown to be capable of absorbing energy from ships - causing them to lose power

Saws

While he doesn’t use this often, he has shown to be able to use a Bladed Saw that is usually housed on the bottom of his arm whilst in combat. The saws on the War Machine Armour are capable of shredding metal.

Tasers

War Machine has built in tasers that allows him to shock any foe that he is fighting against -, he went up against the X-Men member Storm and knocked her down with the Taser though the fight was interrupted by Colousses.

Magnetic Pull

(Note: While this is Tony doing it, Rhodes has the same ability). Basically Rhodes is able to pull anything magnetic closer to him in case he needs to save someone or go in for the finishing blow.

Onboard AI

While Rhodey’s suit doesn’t have an AI system as extensive as F.R.I.D.A.Y or J.A.R.V.I.S, he does have an onboard intelligence that monitors the suit’s systems from the inside, minimizing the likelihood of him running out of power.

Mode Changes

Over the years, several of Rhodey’s Armours have had different modes that allow whoever is wearing the armour to use these modes whilst in combat. These modes usually give the armour new features and functions that the regular armour does not provide.

  • Tank Mode: When using the Stanetech Armour, Rhodes was able to discover a functionality that allowed him to interfere with other weapons. Using this he was able to interface with Tank Treads and other weapons to create - Tank Mode. Tank Mode gives Rhodes more firepower than his regular armours with many more rockets and gatling guns. It also has the speed and armour of a US Tank. The only weaknesses is the Tank Threads allow for less maneuverability whilst in combat - meaning this is a strictly ground based Mode.
  • Stealth Mode: Rhodey and by extension anyone who is wearing the armour - also has a Stealth Mode that allows the user to go invisible (not intangible). That makes him much more difficult to detect and to get a read on - though those who specialised devices likely could detect him (examples include any Iron Man suit that has a scan mode). However, this Mode is not perfect as shown when a person was able to see Frank Castle when he was wearing the suit (and stealth mode was on)
  • Chameleon Mode: When Rhodes suited up in his Iron-Man 2.0 Suit he gained Chameleon Mode which gives him the ability to turn completely invisible. Compared to Rhodey’s Stealth Mode - this invisibility is much greater as akin to Metal Gear Solid 4’s Octocamo in that he completely alters the colour of War Machine in order to blend more easily with the environment akin to Camouflage. However, one weakness with this is that he can’t use Ghost Mode at the same time as this Chameleon Mode.
  • Scan Mode: Rhodey is able to use Scan Mode in most of his armours, allowing him to scan the environment as well as figure out details about who ever he is fighting at the moment (this is especially helpful against armoured foes). Scan Mode also can detect anyone who is in the dark and as a Ultraviolet mode in order to see people behind any sort of wall or cover.
  • Ghost Mode: In his Iron Man 20 and Patriot Armours, he is able to activate Ghost Mode. Ghost Mode allows him to become completely intangible - passing through enemies as well as objects thrown at him. This is an extremely useful ability but it does drain the repulsor tech so it’s likely to assume if he is low on energy then it would be more difficult to go into Ghost Mode. Another weakness is due to the drain on the suit’s repulsor tech, he cannot activate Ghost Mode and Chameleon Mode at the same time. However, overall this is easily one of the most useful abilities that Rhodey’s armour possesses.

Weaknesses

Genos

Has the shittiest luck imaginable like Jesus Christ.

Joking aside, Genos has a fair amount of weaknesses. He’s prone to being impulsive and even reckless to the point of disregarding his own welfare to defeat opponents. He quite often gets dismantled and injured due to letting his guard down. His core is his primary energy source. It’s unlikely to run out of fuel, but if it’s destroyed, it’ll be a big problem for him. And the shitty luck actually isn’t a joke. Genos quite often fights foes that are far out of his league, and usually ends up becoming “modern art.”

And despite the fact that he’s an S-Class Hero, Genos is far and away from being the strongest character in the series, with heroes like Saitama and Tatsumaki outclassing him in sheer power.

War Machine

Of all the people to bang in Marvel, he fucking chose Carol Danvers. Like, come on, man.

In all seriousness, the War Machine suit isn’t invincible; it is known for having drops in performance output as it takes damage, and has a finite energy source that is taxed using repulsor blasts and maintaining extreme speeds, although these can be refilled using the armor’s energy absorption features. Rhodey’s use of the suit has also left him with some form of PTSD, which at times has made him actively dread donning it unless he absolutely needed to. Also, for obvious reasons, we need to note that Rhodey is very much just a normal person outside of the suit, and is subject to the usual weaknesses that entails.

Verdicts

Ramen=Noodles

This is the teeth sinker I was looking for. (Is it weird though that it took a jobber robot boy and c-lister who's only popular because of Don Cheadle for me to be excited about a fight this season?)

All kidding aside, with Leo and Miles biting the dust plus Black Canary and Sindel not really being my fancy, personal investment has taken a hit, but I'm optimistic about my chances here: Marvel and One Punch Man are a good combination, the hand drawn presentation could surprise, and it's two characters I'm pretty fond of.

It also happens to be a definitive victory for the one guy I'm assuming casuals don’t necessarily want to win but still somewhat expect to, so I might as well pop that bubble right now: War Machine should have this in the bag. Cue long explanation ahead, because not gonna lie; I want that W for him:

Genos VS War Machine is one of those episodes that shows how it's an uphill battle for newer franchises like OPM because these long runners like Marvel always have the advantage of time on their side. War Machine benefits from having more resources to pull from, and a lot of that goes into showing how he's got edges in stats and weapons that should clinch this in his favor.

First off, let's focus purely on abilities and how they can counter each other. Genos and War Machine have your usual tech-savvy loadout: scanners, energy weapons, flight - the works. While Saitama's number one student does benefit from having the better CQC, and his ability to blind Rhodey is a boon indeed, that's all he's got going for him here. Let's count then how many ways War Machine can ruin his day.

Genos' Incineration Cannon and High Voltage Fists feed into Rhodey's ability to absorb energy attacks and refuel his suit, so trying to keep his reserves in check won't be too much of an issue. Direct blunt force trauma won't work well either, since newer War Machine suits come packed with Vibranium armor, and I'm sure we are all aware of how much it is a nightmare to even dent. While Genos has scanners that can track energy signatures, War Machine's Chameleon and Ghost modes still mean stealth is an option he can't neglect. Rhodey can easily phase through Genos' attacks, and War Machine armors have built in upgrades from Robert Downey Jr. himself that kind of make it hard to track with anything except for the naked eye, so there's a lot of difficulty in trying to get reliable visibility there.

Also, EMPs. Might as well be the death sentence. One Punch Man doesn't really have those, and since Genos has no noted resistances to stuff like that, there's nothing stopping War Machine from popping one off to shut him down and eliminate him quick-like. Good luck trying to dodge it too, since the AOE on that is enough to shut down part of a city. Speaking of AOE, that ties into Rhodey’s general range game being better; he may lack the better close-quarters game Genos has, but he’s got the overall superior range of projectiles to call upon between various firearms, lasers, explosives that means Genos is outgunned by comparison.

While I do admit that Genos started his hero career earlier than Rhodey and benefited from some great combat training that way, it pales in comparison to War Machine just being active for far longer. Dude’s been in like 2000 plus comics alone, and his 40+ year runtime fighting more varied and powerful threats trumps the competition. Marvel gonna Marvel.

Oh, and stats. Dear Lord, the stats. If War Machine didn’t clinch the definitive dub before, he does when the trinity comes in. Direct feats or stats, it doesn't matter; Rhodey can reasonably end Genos in less than 10 good hits.

Let's go get those BIG NUMBER first and see how high we can place them both via scaling via reasonable examples. Genos' number is 16 gigatons, since we're scaling that to the Dragon-level threats he fights later in the series. Good figure, but unfortunately for him, it's the smaller one between the two. War Machine has 2 teratons off from Iron Man destroying an island-sized rock thrown at him while he was wearing the Silver Centurion suit, which predates the creation of War Machine by several years. To put this comparison in numbers, this means that War Machine's attack potency and durability is potentially 100x greater than Genos'.

Not convinced? Consider that War Machine's also traded blows with other characters like Thor, Captain Marvel and the Hulks, and while Genos has some good opposition with the likes of Garou, it's nowhere close to the weight class Rhodey is in. That said, it’s possible for Genos to hit the teraton level via his self-destruct, but that’s sort of in the bin of feats you’d give him if you were really lenient, as that and stuff like scaling to the gigantic meteor is kinda iffy otherwise. In any circumstance, War Machine has more feats that he could scale to that give him the same figures on a more reliable basis, like the time he got thrown into a mountain by the Mandarin. Also, Planet level War Machine shenanigans arise if you’re willing to give him the same amount of leniency Genos could get for more BIG NUMBER.

At best, you could make the arguments that Genos dodging G4’s lasers and keeping pace with Flashy Flash should make him faster, but it wouldn't be by that much, as War Machine's also packing some stuff that would put him at FTL speeds, like catching up to Living Lightning or by comparing him to Iron Man armors that hit those speeds a lot more reliably. That slight speed advantage still doesn't mean much when the competition is just that much stronger and more heavily armed.

So yeah, all things considered, War Machine edges out in enough areas to take this battle decisively. His arsenal tops Genos’ in terms of sheer versatility and firepower, and the stat trinity gap between the two is too large for the opposition to surpass. The Demon Cyborg is a worthy opponent - let’s not get it twisted - but unfortunately for him...

...all Rhodes lead to Genos-ide.

EpicLinkSam

Honestly, I don’t think Genos is dickless. I believe he has a mechanical pressure driven piston to make up for it.

I miss PurpleEyesWTF so much. Godspeed, you magnificent son of a bitch.

Joking aside, I wasn't really a fan of this idea at first, but I slowly started to like the idea. I love Genos and I love War Machine, so I think I'll enjoy this bout.

As for the rundown, I’m pretty confident in saying that War Machine has this one in the bag. It’s fair to scale him to Tony, and even if we stick with the lowest end feats, he outclasses Genos in strength. Genos is unfortunately one of the weaker characters in One Punch Man, and it shows quite often.

War Machine’s suit is deadass just Tony’s, except with more guns. And not just that, the energy absorption and Vibranium seriously fucks Genos over. Genos’s blinding options aren’t even that viable, due to the fact that he can’t even get past the armor. War Machine also has a lot of game ender weapons like his Sunday Best and EMP.

Now, one argument that can be made is that Genos is comparable in speed, or even faster. Since his energy source is far less limited, is it possible for him to outlast Rhodey?

No. Mostly due to the fact that the speed difference isn’t too big in comparison to strength. That and Genos constantly fighting Rhodey during this will also cause more energy usage and more damage to himself.

And as shown, Genos has never shown destruction capabilities that compare to Rhodey, or those that he scales to.

With benefit of the doubt, Genos has the speed, maneuverability, energy resources, CQC skills and blinding options, but Rhodey has the strength, versatility, weapons, toughness, counters and superior technology.

So all in all, I will say Genos will put up a fight, but War Machine will be the ultimate victor for this fight. I guess War Machine will turn Genos into Modern Art.

It seems that I won’t be leaving the blog anytime soon. Aside from Black Canary vs Sindel, Season 7 has been announcing match-ups where I have knowledge in at least one of the combatants. Speaking of which, Leonardo vs Jason was a pretty good episode despite the short animation length. And since I helped out with the Mob vs Tatsumaki prediction blog, it wouldn’t make sense for me to not help out with Genos vs War Machine.

We all knew Genon would be included in Death Battle one day, though everyone expected him to fight either Cyborg or Android 17. And no, he wouldn’t stand a chance to either of them. However, he’s fighting second-rate Iron Man. He should have a chance at winning, right? Let’s see…

>War Machine has the edge in stats

Oh. Well, considering he’s a Marvel character, it makes he’ll have some impressive feats. Who knows, maybe it’s not that big of a gap.

>War Machine scales to Iron Man, who once performed a feat worth 9 Petatons of TNT

Oh. Oh dear. Um… That's a multi-continent level feat right there. Let’s see what Genos has though. Ah. There it is. He fought on part with Flashy Flash, who’s stronger than Phoenix Man. And Phoenix Man has a durability feat of… 14 Gigatons of TNT, which is Island level. That’s quite a gap. Fortunately, both combatants are around the same level speed at relativistic/potentially faster than light. At least that’s something. Well, if stats are out of the table, maybe Genos might have some hax he can use.

>War Machine can absorb energy

Well so much for Incineration Cannon and the High Voltage Fist. I guess Genos can still punch him to death.

>War Machine’s armor has intangibility

Damn. Huh…. Well, Genos could always blind Rhodey with the Lightning Eye and Core.

>War Machine has an EMP

That’s going to be a problem since Genos never had to deal with an EMP being used against him. I’m starting to doubt Genos’ chances now.

>War Machine has Vibranium

In all seriousness, War Machine has this match in the bag. He has the higher stats and perfect counters necessary to defeat Genos. It’s sad to see my preferred character lose, but this is mercy compared to him having to fight either Cyborg or Android 17. At least we got another OPM in Death Battle, though it’s only a matter of time before Saitama enters the ring. In the end, it’s the Demon Cyborg that’s going to end up incinerated. Anyway, I’m going to go back to watching Isekai Quartet. See you all next time!

Phantom Falcon

Well holy shit. Definitely didn’t expect this match. Though it’s one I’m hyped for. War Machine is a cool character and from what I’ve read of OPM so far, Genos is great too. A shame that one of them has to die, but it’ll be in a glorious hand-drawn fight at least. With all that said, here’s my guess on which one of them will be turned to scrap metal because I’m a fucking nerd.

When it comes to weapons and abilities, War Machine has a pretty solid advantage. Sure, Genos’ maneuverability is overall better and blinding options certainly are useful, but War Machine has far more weapons, counters, and defenses for this fight. War Machine has far more tools of destruction than Genos, which is a no brainer just by looking at his equipment section. Not only that, but his abilities perfectly counter nearly everything Genos has. Radar scanning? The suit protects Rhodey from infrared scanning and has a stealth mode. Potentially deadly blows? The suit is partly made of Wakandan Vibranium, and we know how tough that is. Also, intangibility. Incineration cannons? The suit absorbs energy.

It’s safe to say the suit fucks over most of Genos’ options for attack. Not only that, but Rhodey’s EMP is arguably his biggest advantage. Genos has never encountered EMP before and there’s nothing showing he has a resistance to something like that. The EMP also has great AoE, making it unlikely Genos could avoid it. Once it hits him, he’ll shut down, leaving multiple options for wrapping things up, like punching his head off, blowing him up, etc. And honestly, I don’t see how much of an advantage blinding Rhodey is.

War Machine also has superior training and experience. Sure, Genos is certainly better at CQC, but Rhodey has been trained by the military and has fought far more varied opponents than Genos, some of them having abilities similar to Genos. Pretty sure Genos has nothing Rhodey’s never seen before.

Now for the thing that a fight usually depends on, stats.

Speed is undeniably the closest between the two, but that’s only if you say the MFTL+ Iron Man feats are either outliers or Rhodey doesn’t scale to them. Genos should solidly get relativistic by dodging G4’s lasers and maybe even low end FTL by scaling to Flashy Flash, but Rhodey has relativistic feats from scaling to fantastic 4 members. War Machine’s flight is less limited and gives him better mobility, but Genos’ rocket boosters give him more maneuverability. Personally, I’d say Genos is faster but not by a lot.

Now in terms of attack potency and durability, Genos, via his own feats, is easily city to small island level thanks to his feat of destroying a small part of a mountain, and he gets way stronger afterwards thanks to multiple upgrades. With scaling, he gets around island level via Gouketsu and Millennium Emperor Nova’s island level feats (6.9 and 14 gigatons of TNT respectively). The last one should scale to durability since Genos should be comparable to Phoenix Man who tanked it. But War Machine gets freaking Multi Continent level by scaling to an old Iron Man armor destroying an island the size of Manhattan and Tony stopping something that would’ve left a crater on the west coast (the latter admittedly uses the wrong method since they used diameter instead of radius and forgot to divide the ellipsoid by 2 because it’s a crater, but it would still yield multi continent results). Hell, in an even older Iron Man suit, Rhodey managed to survive a hit that made an earthquake felt thousands of miles away, which has been calculated to be around 2 gigatons of TNT. So with or without scaling, Rhodey holds a solid advantage in power and durability.

Now Genos does have the stamina edge thanks to not relying on a power source, and he could MAYBE win if he dodges all of War Machine’s attacks perfectly until the suit runs out of power. However, not only are the chances of that happening 1/1000, but the speed gap is so minimal that Rhodey will easily catch up

We have argued Genos getting higher by scaling him to the dragon level meteor and how he possibly might be able to prevent it now. The whole place was going to not only destroy City Z, but the surrounding towns as well. Using the same method the Iron Man calculation did of leaving a crater since that’s what meteors do, I got solidly 935 petatons, which is indeed higher than the west coast feat (the methods used for both calc’s aren’t correct, but the power difference should be roughly the same anyways). However, this is all clearly hypothetical and it’s dubious to scale Genos to such a feat, especially since it’s greater than feats like Saitama’s moon jump. Even then, you can argue Rhodey getting up to planet level with the same amount of leniency via scaling to Wonder Man who went toe to toe with Namor and scales to Thing, and surviving an attack that damaged Red Hulk.

The only way Genos wins is if you give him every benefit of the doubt and not apply the same to Rhodey. Genos’ speed, hand to hand skills, and greater endurance will certainly put up a challenge, but in the end, War Machine’s raw power, superior defenses, more versatile firepower, and effective counters will ultimately give him the win.

...I can’t think of a pun so penis music haha

Speedy

So, Genos vs War Machine. This neat. More interesting discussion than expected.
I’ll start with War Machine, he’s easier. He scales to Iron Man blowing up a Manhattan-sized chunk of rock and stopping a ship impact that would have cratered the entire west coast. Both feats in the petatons = multi-continental War Machine. Iron Man also has feats like reacting to Dr. Spectrum’s light blasts and Living Lightning, both of which place him, and by extension Rhodey, at relativistic speed. There are also some higher feats like Tony having picosecond thinking speeds and flying between planets at speeds over 100,000 times the speed of light, but the consistency of these has been called into question and I don’t care enough to argue about it ngl.
Genos is easily city to potentially small island level via his own feat of destroying part of a mountain, and has received multiple upgrades since then. In his current state, he is a self-proclaimed Dragon level character and could briefly fight on par with Flashy Flash, who Phoenix Man was concerned about fighting. This is significant because Phoenix Man took Child Emperor’s 15-gigaton Millennium Emperor Nova to the face and kept going, making Genos island level through scaling. Additionally, dodging G4’s lasers and keeping up with Flashy Flash places him at relativistic speed.
If that was the end of the conversation, though, I wouldn’t have said the discussion was interesting. There are higher arguments for Genos that need to be discussed.
Main one is the meteor, which Genos failed to stop in the early arcs of the series. “But Speedy”, you ask, “If he failed to stop it, why does it matter?”. Good question. It’s because the meteor was considered Dragon level. Guess who now, multiple upgrades since this happened, claims to be Dragon level? Ya boi Genos. So, hypothetically speaking, assuming his belief in his own capabilities was well-founded, it’s possible that he could stop the meteor nowadays, or at least do much better than he did before.
We’ve gone over several methods of calculating the meteor, with the highest one assuming that it would wipe out the entire country-sized City Z (it was said that it would destroy City Z and some surrounding areas) and assuming it would create a crater of that size, which got a whopping 937 petatons, which is actually slightly higher than the multi-continental Iron Man feats.
There’s also a thing with his self-destruct possibly being able to kill Tatsumaki but she was like unconscious at the time with no barriers up so eh.
If you couldn’t tell, we’ve basically spent most of this blog attempting to wank Genos as much as humanly possible, and have even come up with a handful of potential arguments for him winning. However, much like the robo-shaft we’ve been cranking all this time, these arguments are merely hypothetical.
Like don’t get me wrong, I want Genos to win, and I don’t think the stuff we’ve talked about is worthless (shoutout to King, you a real G for helping Genos out when we were all thinking this’d be a total wash), but when you have to tag a bunch of “potentially”s, “assuming”s, and “hypothetically”s onto an argument in order to explain it, it’s probably not that solid.
Iron Man straight up stopped that west-coast-cratering impact and blew up that Manhattan-sized rock. Genos MIGHT be Dragon level if we take him at his word, which means he MIGHT be able to stop that meteor nowadays, which MIGHT have been capable of creating a crater the size of City Z. I also don’t like how we’re writing a bunch of Iron Man feats off as outliers to make this a debate, and then discussing the possibility of accepting a calc for Genos that netted higher numbers than Saitama punching through Boros’ final attack.
I guess just to summarize, I feel like the arguments and feats for War Machine are more concrete and consistent, and anything you COULD argue for Genos, you could turn around and argue higher for Rhodey, because comics lol. I can promise you with 99% certainty, if we had put in even half the amount of effort into wanking Rhodey as we put into wanking Genos, he’d be planetary or above.
Oh and also intangibility and energy absorption and EMPs and shit, those are all big War Machine advantages lol.
So uh, yeah. War Machine wins IMO. Genos thought he’d found the Rhode to victory, but he ended up falling apart.

Greetings again to all this blog’s viewers.  The only thing more epic than this fight is going to be is how much fun it has been to debate all of it these past two weeks.  Thank GOD Cyborg is not in a Death Battle with either of these two - I don’t care what people were requesting, Cyborg would be just as bad if not worse than Goku or Superman fighting either franchise involved.

Alright, down to the analysis phase.  This fight is in Marvel’s favor from the get go as Marvel’s Iron Man is a far older entity than One-Punch Man.  This means that there are far more numbers, feats, arsenal variety, etc.; for War Machine to pull from then Genos.  War Machine has a clear advantage in offense, range, experience, versatility, defense, flight, and may even have an insta-win, but that pales in comparison to their destructive output where War Machine’s big number is 9 teratons verses Genos’ 16 gigatons.  That gap is ludicrous! Interestingly enough, we don’t have the manpower in our little blog team to determine who is faster between these two. Both are massively faster than light and it does seem like War Machine may be faster, but not concretely or consistently so.  OPM definitely has the consistency down in their favor. The biggest thing here is that insta-win I mentioned. War Machine has EMP installed in his suit that he himself is unaffected by. This fries all electronics and his is strong enough to cover an entire city. EMP’s even cause problems to non-electronic machines in that gears won’t turn from being too heavy now that they are magnetized and the same for pistons.

With that in mind, let’s discuss what Genos brings to the table.  He has a conceivably limitless resource pile to pull from due to anime logic if nothing else.  Unlike the Iron Man comics, which is grounded in realistic sci-fi; Genos has never had to concern himself with his energy source or even his ammunition!  We know he has an energy source, but it’s never become relevant for him in any fight he’s ever been in no matter the length of the fight, nor the opponent.  This is the opposite of War Machine who taps at that resource for every major advantage he has over Genos in energy tech, flight, maintaining the speed he will require to keep up with Genos, and even some of his defense options.  Secondly, Genos is far more maneuverable at high speed than War Machine and War Machine’s efficiency in that and offense all drop as he takes damage. Genos does bring his own X-factor advantage, however; in that he makes a light bright enough to fry a person’s retinas potentially and assuredly long-term blinds someone if temporarily.   This could spell defeat for War Machine if he can no longer target such a fast moving and lethal opponent let alone see where attacks are coming from. It’s possible that the AI installed in his suit will take over targeting with mounted and installed weapons, but it’d be a huge disadvantage and take repulsor efficiency out of the fight.

Let’s talk about these X-factors and then I’ll conclude my verdict.  We know that this fight is going to take place in a city so keep that in mind.  The blinding factor is a major issue that War Machine is not fully prepared to counter as it has never come up before, but it’s not an insta-win.  War Machine may even be able to surprise Genos with the EMP while blinded and then let autotargeting be used to lock-on and kill him. This means we have to evaluate how much of a risk the EMP actually is.  The intensity of a nuclear detonation's EMP is about 30,000 to 50,000 volts per meter and expands outward like a radio signal with no drop in intensity over distance until it’s maximum range is reached where it just stops, which would be a 302 mile diameter from War Machine from what we saw.  EMP’s are more effective when detonated at a height because air density is thinner the higher you go and thus allows the EMP to travel farther and faster. This brings the question that, while Genos has no known counter, resistance, or defense to an EMP; can he Genos avoid an EMP?  Well, how fast is an EMP?  Would Genos even be able to see it coming?  I researched EMPs pretty intensively and found out some answers.  EMP’s have three types that vary somewhat in speed:
  • E1 is the first signal, a brilliant radio flash caused by Compton currents from prompt gammas; it travels at the speed of light.
  • E2 is the next phase of EMP, which comes from scattered gammas and inelastic scattering from neutrons off nitrogen and oxygen nuclei in the air. It also travels at the speed of light.
  • The final component is E3, the "heave" in the Earth's magnetosphere, which propagates at (roughly) the AlfvĂ©n speed in the medium, of order hundreds of seconds crossing time.
So we know that EMP is speed of light, even if we don’t know what kind of EMP War Machine uses; but I have found that Genos cannot move massively faster than light from anything we have seen, specifically we can conclude from this image https://imgur.com/okV54Gz that he can move at somewhere between 22,716 mach or relativistic sub to 90,864 mach or sub rel to relativist depending on what kind of lasers those were.  Therefore, it is unlikely Genos can avoid it even if he realizes what it is in time and B-lines out of it’s range in time, which recall from War Machine is 302.6 mi².  This is even more unlikely when you factor in the fight is taking place in a CITY meaning there are a bunch of buildings and such in the way that Genos would conceivably have to be wary of to avoid this and going UP is the worst route to take.  EMP also would even affect electronics and machines underground so even the sewer or subway is not a viable escape option. Is EMP detectable though? according to NASA. A small fraction of yield — between 0.1% and 0.5% — is emitted as gamma rays. These slam into air molecules, knock off electrons, and accelerate the negatively charged particles to about 90% of the speed of light.  Given that type of radiation and speed of its travel, you wouldn’t be able to detect the signal even if you had a 10,000 fps camera. Yes that’s from a nuclear explosion, but this would be consistent for what Marvel and DC do with EMP.  Even if you are generous enough to say Genos is MFTL, it is extremely unlikely he can avoid this insta-win in War Machine’s arsenal.

In my opinion the biggest thing here is that everyone in Marvel are essentially the underdogs that find a way to handle the impossible, with notable exceptions; and win while everyone in OPM are essentially jobbers that have to measure up to Saitama who is, by the very premise of the story; too strong for the world he's in like a T-rex in a petting zoo.  Thus it's too young a franchise to measure up to the major tycoons like Marvel and DC because we haven't seen and may never see Saitama pushed to his limit to properly scale other characters to.

In conclusion, without EMP and blinding, this becomes a numbers game and those are all squarely in War Machine’s pocket, so Genos loses.  With both of those in play, War Machine can viably use the EMP as a counter to being blinded if necessary and use the suit’s AI to obliterate Genos with his superior firepower.  It doesn’t matter what Rhode Genos takes, the superior Machine will win this battle.

So yeah Genos vs War Machine what a metal curveball match that literally nobody predicted. Couldn’t have come at a better time for me as well. Since roughly the exact time this episode was announced I got fully invested into One Punch Man and it has become one of my favorite anime/manga of all time, so when I saw Genos revealed I knew I had to sign up ASAP. Rhodey’s a great character to and if this lives up to the show’s previous episodes Mob vs Tatsumaki and Iron Man vs Lex Luthor were in for a truly awesome gift.

So with all those introductions out of the way let’s talk about what everyone’s here for, which one of these killer machines takes it? Well while I must admit the debate and lead up to this episode was much more interesting than I ever expected before. I’m afraid this battle is ultimately still an uphill battle in the middle of the Rhodes for Genos.

So starting up with Attack Potency Genos is solidly in the city-Island range due to feats such as incinerating a portion of a mountain away since the very beginning of the series. He’s only gotten much stronger since from numerous upgrades. To the point he claims he could take on Dragon Level threats, helped by the fact he could match Flashy Flash one of the strongest Class S heroes off panel briefly who also previously defeated 2 Dragon level ninjas with relative ease. As such he likely should scale to Gouketsu and Second resurrected Phoenix Man (who was concerned about fighting Flashy Flash) with feats like a 6 Gigaton cloud splitting punch and tanking the 14 gigaton Millennium Emperor Nova respectively.

Now Rhodey at the very least scales to Iron Man destroying a Manhattan sized island and stopping a bomb that would have destroyed the west coast. Both have been calculated in the multi continent level range. That alone already puts him vastly above Genos level if you only use the safest feats for both.

Which brings me to the interesting part why this debate ended up so interesting. There’s been some feats brought up that Genos might scale to that could place on par if not above War Machines Level. Namely the meteor from early in the series that was gonna destroy City Z and the surrounding towns. What makes this especially impressive is it’s shown that cites in OPM are the size of countries (shown by both the World Map and the shots of the planet itself and the fact even locations nowhere near the main cities are still classified as being part of them furthest showing city = region in OPM, obviously impossible by real life standards but fiction be fiction, this is the same franchise where it’s titular character became a Relativistic+ multi-continent Buster with barely Olympic level training after all. Assuming it was would have cratered City Z it comes out to 937 petatons actually higher than the Continent Level Iron Man feats.

There’s also arguments about his self destruct being able to destroy City Z and potentially being able to kill all the top class S Heroes post Monster Association Raid. Including the likes of Flashy Flash, Bang, Atomic Samurai, Tatsumaki and King (who Genos is unaware is actually weak, so from his perspective he would be as strong if not stronger then Tatsumaki.) However few of them were already injured and Tatsumaki had no barriers up so this is debatable at best.

And there’s him surviving the shockwaves of air from Saitama’s halted punch that destroyed a canyon and distant mountain in the anime which got teraton or country level results. Using the higher end numbers from the first calc to the second calc would reach 3 exatons or multi continent Level (yes I shit you not. You see why I said this was interesting lol). Tho it should be noted this is via a method that’s never used cause it massively inflates numbers.

However the main problem that lies within all of this is that it relies entirely on assumptions and giving Genos every benefit of the doubt. Like assuming his words were accurate and he is Dragon level, that he could stop the meteor currently and what damage the meteor would cause. While some of these are possible to argue (since a meteor leaving a crater is logical) it's still not the safest option in the end.

Or in other words we had to highball Genos harder than Saitama punched Speed-O Sound Sonic in the balls.

Meanwhile giving Rhodey half of the same lenient treatment Genos was given would net him planet level stats at least scaling to Marvel’s Middle Diddlers (the new official term for mid tier Mahvel characters nobody thought of till now)

In terms of Speed Genos is in the relativistic to possible FTL range from reacting to G4’s lasers and keeping up with Flashy briefly off panel. Further backed up by Genos tracking Flashy’s training match with Saitama and dispatching a demon level monster at roughly the same speed as Flashy Flash

Rhodie is at least Relativistic as well cause of Living Lighting and Dr. Spectrum’s light blasts. Even to MFTL+ cause of Iron Man claiming to think in Picoseconds and flying between planets at over 100,000 times lightspeed. And supposedly has numerous other FTL feats over the years.

And this hasn’t Into an important area of the fight the fact Rhodey’s arsenal counters Genos hard. EMP’s that can cover a city level range which can shut him down, Intangibility to phase though attacks, Energy absorption to counter Genos incineration cannons, Vibranium to counter Genos CQC attacks, resistance against being scanned, AI can help from being blinded by Geno’s Light Ect.

Genos definitely is better at hand to hand and started fighting at a younger age. Rhodey is much older and fought for many more years, on top of his military training and facing a greater variety of opponents then Genos gives Rhodey the experience/skill edge.

So ultimately you have to give absolutely everything to Genos with some mental gymnastics thrown in for Genos to stand a chance and just playing it safer with both gives a massive advantage to War Machine in most areas. (Btw huge props to Kingsly for finding most of these for Genos. Made the debate much more engaging and even gave my boi and even OPM as a whole some buffs. I greatly admire and appreciate all the work he’s done.)

So as much as I love OPM and Genos, when this Death Battle’s Sunday Best comes out Genos will be facing total Genocide.

Joshski

Well this sure was unexpected. While I still kinda think Cyborg would make for a more fun fight (despite the ridiculous stomp it would be) I’m totally down with this happening although as pretty much everyone here has gone into in great detail this fight is pretty clear cut. War Machine has the advantage in pretty much every stat besides maybe speed and even that is heavily debatable and his abilities are just flat out better. If you were to give Genos every benefit of the doubt imaginable and Rhodey absolutely none you can maybe make this fight close? But uh realistically this is just gonna end with Rhodes punching Genos’s head off. So to the surprise of no one Genos is going to get his ass kicked and this time War Machine is gonna be the one to do it.

KirbyKid

So, if you couldn’t tell, we're being as generous as possible with Genos here. Seeing as the series is still going on right now, it’s safe to assume Genos at this point is finally up to par with other S class heroes that can take on Dragon level threats. Dragon threats are capable of destroying entire cities, which as noted in other verdicts here and in the blog, are the size of countries.

Using some calculations based off of how fast Genos moves in relation to lasers, and having fought similarly speedy opponents, Genos likely takes speed here.

However, even when taking into account the dragon level monsters Genos likely takes on, War Machine is easily capable of the same level of punishment, with added abilities to boost his chances.

Turning invisible, intangible, absorbing all amounts of energy, one of which included a self destructing Skrull. Even if Genos were to pull off such a kamikaze attack, I’m fairly certain WM will be able to handle the attack and absorb it.

Either that or he goes intangible and watches an entire country explode and just sits through it. (Likely his hero code would opt to wanting to absorb it to avoid causality but ya never know)

My vote goes to the man in iron himself, War Machine.

Bloxxer

i’m back

sort of

tell me when theres a matchup im interested in for once

i was gonna do things for genos but it looked like everything was done already so lol

Regardless, with Marvel’s robust history, I find it a bit difficult to see any win scenario for Genos. Obviously, he has a good chunk of his own advantages, and would most definitely win if he managed to take Rhodey out of the War Machine suit.

If.

The chance of that happening is extremely low, and on top of that, Rhodey has way too many advantages over Genos, like these for example;
  • attack potency
  • possibly speed
  • durability
  • arsenal
  • better flight
So with that in mind, I don’t really have anything else to say other than Genos is quite 100% screwed. My vote is going to War Machine.

   Kingsly

If you don’t think Genos wins you can suck my dick. Speaking of, looks like that’s what War Machine is about to give him.
