Death Battle Predictions: Goro VS Machamp

In a world filled with martial arts masters, godlike entities, and manipulators of every element known to man, sometimes the best weapon one can wield is one's own strength. From muscular Russian bear-tamers and Legendary Hungry Wolves to Number One Heroes and racers turned bounty hunters, Death Battle is no stranger to combatants with unparalleled strength. But with these two champions, they have quite the leg up on the competition. Or in their cases, arms.

Goro, the Prince of the Shokan turned Champion of the Mortal Kombat tournament for five hundred years running. Machamp, the ferocious Superpower Pokemon and ace in the hole of both Bruno and Bea. With muscles to spare, these two beasts have taken on some of the best of the best in their respective universes, steamrolling the opposition with nothing more than sheer brawn. These four-armed fighters have been requested to trade fists for quite some time, and they're staking their titles as champ in a video game clash for the ages! In a buff battle of West and East, only one of these superpowers are gonna carry home the belt.

Background

Goro


Born the prince of the mighty draconian Shokans, Goro was a natural fighter. After having led his race through countless conquered provinces and crushed rebellions through his over 2000 years of existence, he ended up fighting in the legendary tournament of Mortal Kombat hosted by Shang Tsung. Here, he claimed victory by defeating the shaolin warrior Kung Lao in one-on-one kombat. 

Fuelled by his bloodlust, he continued to participate in the tournament for over 500 years, remaining the undefeated champion throughout the entire time. That was until a new warrior from Earthrealm by the name of Liu Kang entered the tournament. For the first time, Goro was defeated, and Liu Kang continued through the tournament to defeat Shang Tsung. Humiliated by this defeat, Goro disappeared, presumed dead, for many months. Now, however, he has returned, intent to restore his pride as both a kombatant and a Shokan with his immense physical strength.

Machamp


In the world of Pokemon, there exist 18 known types, each of which possess certain traits. But none are considered to be physically tougher, or stronger, than the fighting-type, with one of the most impressive species in this category being the Machop line. What starts out as a little muscular Machop, whose strength is already legendary for Pokemon of similar size and ranking, evolves into the even more bulky and powerful Machoke before finally becoming Machamp, the Superpower Pokemon.

Standing at 5’7” and weighing in at a solid 286.6 lbs. (or 1.6 meters and 130 kilograms for non-American viewers), Machamp is a force to be reckoned with. Their most obvious features are the four extremely muscular arms that they spout. Finding one in the wild is rather rare, but should you find one, you better hope you’re on its good side, because Machamp are known for incredible feats of strength.

Equipment

Goro

Dragon Fangs

Retractable gauntlet-like weapons forged and used by the Shokan people, they served as his primary weapon in both MK: Deception and Armageddon, and serve as his “Dragon Fang”  variation in MKX. They are sharp enough to cut somebody’s head clean off.

Gun

It’s a fucking gun.

Jokes aside, this is the secret weapon given to Goro by the god of order, Abacus, in the non-canon comic “Goro: The Prince of Pain”. It’s strength more than lives up to its glorious appearance though. With one shot of its lasers, it was capable of obliterating the Kombatant, an artificial being who wielded the power of the entire original MK cast put together. Unfortunately, Zaggot, the god of chaos, was so scared of it that Goro ended up having the weapon taken from him. It lives on in our hearts though. 

Machamp

Berries

Certain members of the Machop line can be found carrying certain berries, such as regular berries that restore their HP by 10 or Bitter Berries, which cure them from confusion.

Focus Band

A band that some Machop and Machoke hold in the wild. It gives Machamp a 10% chance to not faint each time they are hit with an attack that would normally do so.

Power-Save Belt

A belt worn around Machamp’s waist that they have had ever since they were Machoke. It restricts their power, only to be removed when a Machamp fights incredibly powerful opponents.

Goro

Shokan Physiology

The Shokan are a race of half-Human, half-dragon creatures that live in the subterranean kingdom of Katan in Outworld. So basically mole people half-dragons. Their physiology provides some benefits though. They have an enhanced lifespan, shown by Goro being more than 2000 years old. They are also tall and possess immense physical strength which is exemplified in Goro’s moveset.

Martial Arts


Now...Goro may look, sound, move, dress, talk, feel, play and probably smell like a mindless brute, but he is actually quite the accomplished fighter. You don’t become a champion for 500 years without learning a few martials arts. Due to his insane lifespan, Goro has found time to study 2 fictional martial arts, probably even more (I mean, when he’s half dragon, does he really need more?)

Shokan

The first is Shokan, in honor of his race. Shokan seems to be the Outworld equivalent of wrestling mixed with extreme boxing, due to the species' extra arms. They fully utilize them and have created a martial art which makes use of strong grappling attacks, spinning, lariats and quick combinations of punches. It focuses on powerful strikes designed to kill the opposition as quickly as it does brutally. 

Kuatan

Kuatan seems to be a variation of Shokan, however while Shokan focuses on powerful swings and strikes meant to overwhelm the opposition, Kuatan seems to be a more complete martial art, implementing the whole body instead of just the arms. It mixes in more kicks and tricky footplay, although it is still meant as a martial art designed to overwhelm. It’s more varied in general.

 Energy Projection

If you hadn’t guessed, being a superpowered swole dragon warrior from another world has its perks, with one of the more notable ones being Goro’s ability to manipulate some sort of unexplained energy of a green color.  At first the move was just called “Fireball” but as of MKX the move came to be known as “Shokan Bolt”.

Regardless of the specifics, Goro can manipulate this energy in a few ways. He can fire it from his hands or mouth, with one of these blasts being powerful enough to make a person explode! And to make it all better he can engulf his fists in this green energy, allowing him to enhance their striking power. The strongest version is the Shokan Blast, which is just a big version of the same move.

Pyrokinesis

Goro at first seems like a normal guy with an extra pair of arms, but he’s actually a half-dragon person, kinda. So that means that of course he shoots fire because why the fuck not right? This fella can shoot up to 3 concentrated blasts of fire in quick succession from his hands and mouth, and he can focus it into a stream of fire that can burn people down to the bone in seconds! Or even better, much like his green energy, he can engulf his hands in fire to become a swole beyblade of doom or create huge shockwaves of fire.

Variations

As of MKX, all characters can choose between 3 different fighting styles. This is an overview of Goro’s.

Dragon Fang

A fighting style based on the previously mentioned Dragon Fangs, to impale and slash his opponents with quick strikes. No, this isn’t Fire Emblem Fates.
  • Fang Spin: Similar to the punch walk, Goro spins towards the opponent, slashing them with his dragon fangs. 
  • Shokan Stabs: Goro grabs the opponent and stabs them several times before throwing them away. 

Kuatan Warrior

A style oriented to grapples, grabs and overall physical strikes, of all the variants this is the closer to the classic Goro we all know and love. 

Tigrar Fury

A more fire centric moveset that utilizes Goro’s draconic side to unleash a barrage of fire-based attacks.
  • Dragon Breath: A stream of fire that he shots from his mouth
  • Flame Ball: A ball of fire that Goro shoots from his mouth. It can be angled either close or far away from him to keep the opponent at bay.

  • Crusher: From MK9, Goro first grabs the opponent and crushes their skull between his hands, only to finally slam them down into the ground, shattering their spine and ribcage.
  • Spine Adjustment: Goro punches his opponent hard enough to stun them. He then forcefully wrenches their head sideways, breaking their neck. He then uses his lower arms to grab their waist and violently stretches them out, shattering the spine and several ribs before punching them into the ground.

  • Dragon Fangs: Goro takes out his Dragon Fangs, slices the foe upward, stabs them in the torso, then follows up by taking one of his claws and driving it into his opponent’s throat.
  • Limb Rip: Goro grabs his opponent with his four arms and begins to tear them apart before he throws them on the ground.
  • Boss Fatality: Goro raises the victim up before dropping them on his knee, breaking their spine. He then grabs them by the head, slams them to the ground, and throws them far away.
  • Disconnect Four: Goro grabs the opponent's head and tears it off with two arms. He then grabs it with his two other arms and tears it into 4 quarters.
  • Torn Apart: Goro grabs the opponent with his upper hands and rips off their legs with his bottom hands. He then flips them upside down and rips off their arms, and finally vertically rips the body in half.
  • Peek-A-Boo: Goro grabs the opponent with his lower arms and grabs their head with one of his upper arms. He then presses the head down into the chest cavity. Afterwards, he rips the skin from the abdomen, revealing the head in his opponent’s torso as their corpse falls backwards.
  • Shokan Amputation: Goro jumps onto his opponent, grabs both their arms and legs with his four arms, and rips them all off at once, all the while still standing on his opponent.

Machamp

Machamp are known for having very powerful physical moves, as well as versatile status moves that benefit that power and make it easier for them to fight under many different conditions. Also, attacks that are Fighting-type deal 50% more damage due to their typing matching that of Machamp. Lastly, moves that Machamp learns via breeding will be included, as there have been cases of Pokémon in the wild being found with those kinds of moves. The following is a list of all the moves Machamp can use:

  • Light Screen: A Psychic-type status move. Machamp put up a wondrous wall of light, which reduces the damage taken from special attacks by half for a while. This also defends any allies, but if it does, any special damage Machamp or their allies take is only reduced by a third instead. Light Screen can be shattered however, from a Brick Break attack.
  • Meditate: A Psychic-type status move. Machamp meditates and awakens the power deep within their bodies, which raises their Attack.
  • Rolling Kick: A base 60 power Fighting-type physical move with 85% accuracy. Machamp lash out with a quick, spinning kick, which has a 30% chance of flinching their opponent, preventing them from moving briefly.
  • Rock Slide: A base 75 power Rock-type physical move with 90% accuracy. Machamp hurls multiple large boulders at its opponents, which has a 30% chance of flinching each of them. When it hits multiple opponents, its power slightly weakens.
  • Smelling Salts: A base 70 power Normal-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp slaps their opponent with their hand. If their target is paralyzed, this attack’s power doubles. However, this will also cause them to be cured of said paralysis.
  • Bullet Punch: A base 40 power Steel-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp strike their opponent with tough punches as fast as bullets, which have a higher priority over most attacks.
  • Close Combat: A base 120 power Fighting-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp ruthlessly fights up close without guarding itself. However, this causes their Defense and Special Defense to lower.
  • Fire Punch: A base 75 power Fire-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp sets their fist aflame and punches their opponent, which has a 10% chance of burning them. This also thaws their opponent if they’re frozen.
  • Thunder Punch: A base 75 power Electric-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp electrifies their fist and punches their opponent, which has a 10% chance of paralyzing them.
  • Ice Punch: A base 75 power Ice-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp surrounds their fist in an icy aura and punches their opponent, which has a 10% chance of freezing them.
  • Power Trick: A Psychic-type status move. Machamp employs their psychic power to swap their Attack with their Defense.
  • Heavy Slam: A Steel-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp slam into their opponent with their heavy body, which deals more damage the heavier Machamp are to them.
  • Tickle: A Normal-type status move with 100% accuracy. Machamp tickles their opponent into laughing, which lowers their Attack and Defense.
  • Quick Guard: A Fighting-type status move. Machamp set up a barrier around themselves and any of their allies that blocks any attacks with high priority. They can also use this move multiple times in a row without the risk of it ever failing.
  • Strength: A base 80 power Normal-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp slug their opponent with a punch using all of their power. They can also use this attack to move obstacles.
  • Wide Guard: A Rock-type status move. Machamp set up a barrier around themselves and any of their allies that blocks any wide-ranged attacks. They can also use this move multiple times in a row without the risk of it ever failing.
  • Encore: A Normal-type status move with 100% accuracy. Machamp compels their opponent to use the exact same move they used last for a while.
  • Counter: A Fighting-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp waits for their opponent to attack them. If they do, Machamp will attack back to deal double the damage they had taken.
  • Low Kick: A Fighting-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp delivers a powerful kick that trips their opponent. The heavier they are, the more damage this attack will do.
  • Leer: A Normal-type status move with 100% accuracy. Machamp gives their opponent an intimidating leer, which causes their Defense to lower. If they are fighting against multiple opponents at once, their leer affects all of them.
  • Focus Energy: A Normal-type status move. Machamp relaxes their muscles, making it much easier to land critical hits. Another use for it is to focus all of their energy into one point in their body and aim for their opponent’s vital point if Machamp can find it.
  • Bide: A Normal-type physical move. Machamp leave themselves wide-open to attacks for a while. After a certain amount of time, Machamp then fires a white beam that deals double the accumulated damage they had taken from their opponent.
  • Karate Chop: A base 50 power Fighting-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp chops their opponent with their hand. This attack has a higher chance of landing critical hits than most other attacks. Machamp can also use this attack to negate weak enemy projectiles.
  • Brick Break: A base 75 power Fighting-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp attack with a swift chop that breaks through defensive barriers that would normally reduce damage.
  • Foresight: A Normal-type status move. Machamp outlines their bodies with a blue light, which then expands, covering the entire area around them in it. This makes it so ghosts become visible to them and are vulnerable to Machamp’s Fighting and Normal-type attacks, which would normally have no effect at all. This move also makes the next attack they use on their opponent never miss.
  • Low Sweep: A base 65 power Fighting-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp swiftly kicks at their opponent’s legs, injuring them and lowering their Speed.
  • Seismic Toss: A Fighting-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp grabs their opponent and jumps in the air with them. They then spin with their target before throwing them onto the ground. This attack’s power depends on what level Machamp are. The higher their level, the more damage it does.
  • Revenge: A base 60 power Fighting-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp deliberately attacks last, hoping they’ll get hit. After waiting, they then hit their opponent. If Machamp got hit right before using this attack, its power doubles.
  • Knock Off: A base 65 power Dark-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp surrounds their hand with black sparks before slapping their opponent. This attack removes any item that their target might be holding. If Machamp does knock an item off, this attack’s power doubles.
  • Vital Throw: A base 60 power Fighting-type physical move. Machamp swings their arm and clothesline their opponent before throwing them. This attack always hits their target, but Machamp goes last when using it most of the time.
  • Wake-Up Slap: A base 70 power Fighting-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp slaps their opponent with two of their hands, similarly to a clap. If their target is asleep, this attack’s power doubles. However, this will also cause them to instantly wake up.
  • Dual Chop: A base 40 power Dragon-type physical move with 90% accuracy. Machamp brutally chops their opponent twice with their hands, hitting them one at a time.
  • Submission: A base 80 power Fighting-type physical move with 80% accuracy. Machamp grabs their opponent and spins around in place with them before slamming them into the ground. However, Machamp takes recoil damage that equals to a quarter of the damage they dealt out.
  • Bulk Up: A Fighting-type status move. Machamp tense their muscles to bulk themselves up, simultaneously raising both their Attack and Defense. They can also use this move to drastically increase the power of one of its attacks at the cost of not receiving the Attack and Defense buffs.
  • Cross Chop: A base 100 power Fighting-type physical move with 80% accuracy. Machamp jumps at their opponent with two of their forearms crossed, chopping them with incredible power. This attack has a higher chance of landing critical hits than most other attacks.
  • Scary Face: A Normal-type status move with 100% accuracy. Machamp makes a scary look that expands into a creepy ghostly face, frightening their opponent. This harshly lowers their Speed.
  • Dynamic Punch: A base 100 power Fighting-type physical move with 80% accuracy. Machamp attacks their opponent with a punch using their full concentrated power. This attack always causes confusion when it hits, which can stun them and make it likely that they’ll hit themselves.
  • Double-Edge: A base 120 power Normal-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp performs a reckless, life-risking tackle against their opponent, which deals recoil damage equal to a third of the damage dealt to them.
  • Superpower: A base 120 power Fighting-type physical move with 100% accuracy. Machamp surround themselves in a blue aura before attacking their opponent with incredible power. However, Machamp’s Attack and Defense will lower if they land it.

Abilities 

Abilities are passive effects that can benefit Machamp in different ways depending on which one they have. They can only have one at a time, and the Ability they receive from birth can’t be changed to another by natural means. The following is a list of all the possible Abilities Machamp can have:

  • Guts: If Machamp are suffering from a status condition, such as poison, burn, or paralysis, their Attack is increased by 50%. While burns normally half their Attack, Guts ignores this.
  • No Guard: Every move Machamp does will always hit. This comes with a catch though, as Machamp also gets hit by every move their opponent uses on them.
  • Conqueror: After Machamp defeats an opponent, all of their stats increase.
  • Bodyguard: Machamp jumps in front of allies who are about to be attacked to protect them.
  • Steadfast: Machamp’s Hidden Ability, an Ability that is found rarely in a Pokémon’s species. For every time they get flinched by an opponent’s attack, Machamp’s Speed increases.

Energy Manipulation

Some Machamp are skilled enough to manipulate energy to attack with projectiles. They can do this through the use of fast or slow punches or chops.

Martial Arts Mastery

Machamp are known for their mastery of martial arts. In fact, they have mastered every martial art in existence according to the Pokédex.

The Machamp Special

According to Pokemon Ultra Sun’s Pokedex, one of Machamp’s favorite techniques is to grab an opponent and twist their body up in an intricate hold known as “The Machamp Special”. No images have been seen of this technique, however.

Gigantimax


Like a handful of other Pokemon like Gengar, Charizard, and Corviknight, certain Machamp have been shown to be infused with residual energy found within the Galar Region, known as the Dynamax Phenomenon. Whilst Trainers can use this in battle, Gigantimax Pokemon can also be found in the Wild Area. Under the power of the Dynamax Phenomenon, Pokemon can grow several times their own size, and in the case of Gigantimax Pokemon, change their shapes entirely. As a Gigantimax Pokemon, Machamp not only becomes even stronger, but it gains access to several powerful Max Moves.

  • Max Knuckle: AND THEN COMES THE GIANT FIST! With this attack, Machamp channels chi through its body, before summoning a massive fist to crush the opposition. This move also increases the attack of the user and its allies.
  • Max Darkness: Machamp surrounds the opponent in a cocoon of darkness, damaging them greatly. This move has the side effect of decreasing the foe’s resistances to special attacks.
  • Max Strike: The earth begins to crack open, before a geyser of energy erupts from the ground. This attack also decreases the speed of the opposition.
  • Max Wyrmwind: Machamp attacks the opponent with a GIANT. DRAGON. TORNADO. That may be one of the most badass attacks ever. With this Max Move, the opponent and their allies also have their physical strength depleted.
  • Max Guard: Machamp erects a massive barrier that can protect from even Max moves and G-Max moves.

G-Max Chi Strike

The signature move of Gigantimax Machamp, with this attack… it’s basically Max Knuckle, but with a different side effect. This move greatly increases the chance for Machamp and its allies to land critical hits.

Goro is one of the most intimidating fighters in Mortal Kombat. But he has one MAJOR problem: He is one of the biggest jobbers in Mortal Kombat. While Goro is certainly not someone a typically normal person can take on, he’s been taken out by several supposedly normal people in MK across multiple timelines, like Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and, as shown above, Johnny Cage. In fact, Sub-Zero (while a cyborg) took him, Kano and Kintaro down simultaneously, and was still able to fight Ermac afterwards. 

Oh yeah, he’s currently dead too.

Machamp


There are no flawless Pokemon that exist, and Machamp is certainly not an exception to the rule. For one, it shares the weakness other pure-fighting types do: Flying-types, Psychic-types, and Fairy-types, whom it takes extra damage from. In addition, while the Pokedex entries list several insane things Machamp can do, it also consistently states that if Machamp tries to do anything dexterous with its arms, it will end up entangling them. Also, it can’t punch dead people unless it stares really hard at them.

Also, while Gigantimax Machamp is perfectly usable (as wild Machamp can have it), Machamp can only access this form when it’s exposed to the residual energy from Galar.

Summary

Machamp

  • Vastly superior in the stat trinity and in arsenal and abilities
  • Can use Knock Off to remove Goro’s Dragon Fangs or gun
  • Can boost its stats with moves such as Bulk Up or lower Goro’s own stats with other moves like Scary Face
  • Knows many, many more martial arts than Goro
  • Can manipulate Goro in various ways, such as with Encore or Dynamic Punch
  • Can use Goro’s attacks against him via Counter, Revenge, Bide, or Guts if Goro ends up burning it
  • Foresight and No Guard allow it to always be able to hit Goro
  • Mal used one in his run of Pokemon Yellow a year ago...
  • Is very similar to fellow chad Zangief in Pokken
  • INCREDIBLE POWER! RESPECTABLE MUSCLES!

Man, I really did get cockblocked in the Death Battle Cast by getting my post shown but not having it read smh

Will say I never expected this as 125. Though I’m not complaining. Goro vs Machamp is honestly pretty cool in terms of potential fight animation. And it’s 3D, so I have some high hopes
Now we need to get into stats, the basics of vs debating. I’ll start with Goro, since he’s relatively easy, but I also want to discuss something as well: MK stats and how high they are. Apparently, there are some feats in the comics that give the cast city level results and some relativistic stuff in the games via Kano’s lasers and Kotal Kahn’s light blocking feat.
To put it simply, I don’t agree with most of these. They have too many flaws which I’ll be discussing.
In terms of power, Raiden’s storm feats aren’t city level. All of them assume distance to the horizon when the horizon is obscured, and one of them assumes he made a storm…around an area where there are always storms. Keep in mind he was amped while making said storm, so I heavily doubt most low tiers, let alone Goro, scale. Scorpion beating an amped Raiden is also not even remotely consistent, which should be obvious. The most consistent Goro is at is building-city block level via diamond smashing, Sonya lol no’ing an explosion, etc.
Now for speed, Raiden’s storm traveling across the world is such a massive leap in logic, and I don’t think it should be used at all. There are arguments for people reacting to Kano’s lasers, which are believed to be light speed. Now, I do agree Kano’s lasers are light speed, they share enough properties to be considered that, but Kotal Kahn and Sonya “reacting” to those lasers have no in tandem movement at all. Kotal Kahn’s light feat is fine afaik, but it’s gameplay only, which could be a bit iffy to use. Though Goro could scale to Shinnok, who reacted to Raiden’s lightning, which gets MHS-MHS+ results, which is consistent with Quan Chi reacting to Raiden’s lightning.
However, even if we believe most of these feats to be true and that Goro scales to them, he still loses.
Machamp pushing mountains with one hand has been calculated to be town level, Seismic Toss, a move Machamp can learn, was calculated to be large town, it can punch with megatons of force, and is superior to Pokemon like Dragonair and Alazkazam, who can create storms more powerful than Raiden’s dubious storm feats. Both have been calculated to be island level. Even if you don’t think he scales to those, he definitely scales to Dawn’s Piplup outputting 130 kilotons of TNT, which is still higher than Goro’s maximum power output. In terms of durability, it can tank Pikachu’s thunderbolt, which is powerful enough to damage fully evolved mons like Charizard and Tyranitar, the latter’s pre evolved form being capable of toppling mountains. Speed depends on what you accept, but giving them the highest possible speed they scale to makes them roughly even, with only a 3% difference in speed. So Machamp has a very solid edge over Goro in terms of power.
There are arguments for Goro being universal because realm merging (which admittedly I’m very iffy on) and Raiden and Shinnok shaking infinite realms, but even if you scale him to that, Machop’s are capable of damaging the Dark Entity in Mystery Dungeon, Ash’s Pikachu damaging Arceus and how Machamp can tank hits from it, a fucking Swinub and Ursaring damaging the Creation Trio, and more. I’m not saying either is legit (Goro scaling to characters like Raiden or Cetrion is inconsistent and doesn’t make a lot of sense, and the same goes with Machamp scaling to those potential universal feats), but my point is that if you give both equally fair scaling, Machamp should still come out on top.
What tips this over for me however, lies beyond that. Despite being more experienced, Goro is nowhere near as skilled. Machamp is pretty much Pokemon Batman, being a master of all forms of martial arts. Not only that, but its more versatile move pool, stat buffs, and abilities fuck Goro over. Encore makes Goro use the same move, Counter defends Machamp against Goro’s physical strikes, Light Screen protects Machamp from projectiles, and he can even shoot out his own energy projectiles, which are more powerful, Bulk Up, Scary Face, and Leer increase the gap in stats further and even make himself faster, Foresight makes sure he never loses sight of him, and Guts increases his power if he gets burned from Goro’s fire attacks. There’s more to go into, but these alone make it virtually impossible for Goro to win.
Goro is certainly a powerful and ferocious Kombatant in his own right, but Machamp’s stats, skills, and versatility will give him a fairly easy victory. Goro isn’t the Ma-champion of this bout.

So Goro vs Machamp, not a conventional match for the 125th milestone but a neat matchup nonetheless (and frankly everyone should have seen this coming from previous statements that it wasn’t gonna be a mind blowing one.) But with all that said let’s get into who takes the trophy in this eight armed rumble. 

So getting started with strength Machamp takes this 4 hands down. His dex entries like pushing a mountain, never tiring and a master of all martial arts known to man essentially making him Batman with 2 extra hands handed to him already gives him some skill advantages. But that doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of scaling to Pokemon he’s shown to be comparable/ superior to like city-island level Dragonair from destroying a city and creating storms, and is consistent with a island level storm from Alakazam and other Pokemon like Charizard melting mountains, Pupitar toppling a mountain ect, especially since it’s shown strong enough to one shot fully evolved Pokemon like Ursaring and Conkeldurr with ease. So suffice to say if these 2 get in a grapple Machamp is coming out on top. 

Now Mortal Kombat stats kinda a mess and varies more among people then Netherrealm kills off characters. So Goro can either be city block level, city level to even bloody universal. So all this in mind I’m going to say regardless of what kind of scaling you give ether Machamp at least should match if not surpass Goro in this regard (especially since being Pokemon you can easily scale it instances from Mystery Dungeon, the manga or movies where regular ass Pokemon can throw hands with Legndary’s including The Creation Trio, and I think we all know how OP the literal creator gods of Pokemon are.) Note I highly doubt DB will be that generous with scaling to ether but I just wanted to make the point even giving both completely everything still puts it in the champs favor. 

Speed is simpler and shorter Machamp scales to lighting timing from Pikachu at least to relativistic via keeping up with Red’s Poliwrath who reacted  to Doom Desire putting him at relativistic speeds. Goro at least scales to bullet timing feats to somewhat iffy scaling to laser timing and sunlight reacting feats. So at best they're even in speed and at worst Goro gets 1000 fist comb’d faster than he can blink. 

And when you add all that to numerous ways of increasing his own stats and lowering Goro’s, increasing Strength with Guts, knocking away Goro’s main weapons with Knock off, using Encore to make him repeat the same moves, using his vastly greater knowledge of martial arts and attack moves to overwhelm Goro Ect (on that note if Seismic Toss is used it’s gonna be like the anime’s version) and if Gigantamax is used then it becomes a literal stomp.

So while Goro is certainly a deadly kombatant. It was all four not as Machamp is gonna turn him into machump

BTW Machamp can simultaneously dab, T-pose and floss on Goro’s corpse, the ultimate defeat to confirm his dominance.

Anyway, it feels good to have a rando-Pokémon in DB. It’s a breath of fresh air considering every other Pokémon has been a fan-favorite. It’s also fun to see that the rando-Pokémon is gonna body its opponent. Machamp takes like, every advantage in this fight, besides experience.

Not only is Machamp stronger, faster, and tougher, but it is much more versatile. Goro’s got like, punches and fire (that can burn Machamp and activate Guts lol) and that’s kinda it. Even without the egg moves, Machamp has plenty of ways to screw Goro over, like confusion from Dynamic Punch, Encore forcing him to do the same stuff, removing his equipment with Knock Off, or just slowing him down with Scary Face or Low Sweep. Also even with Goro having more combat experience, Machamp has mastered literally every single martial art, so yeah, that kinda means nothing anyway. Champ has lots of counter moves, and can even buff itself with Bulk Up.

With egg moves, it gets worse cause apparently Machamp gets Light Screen. Okay. Also Tickle to lower Attack and Defense, something I wish to not see. It also just gets elemental variety. Even if Goro decided to zone Champ out, Champ can shoot energy projectiles to match, which are obviously stronger cause of the stat difference. Rock Slide would even let it attack from above, and with Power Trick it can just swap from offense to defense if Goro tries to go in. Machamp is simply too much for Goro, and also it’d be neat for Pokémon to have a winning record.

Also Pokkén is neat.

My only hope… is a DB where Pokemon aren’t lowballed, and that’s likely coming this match. Regardless, here’s a verdict just as crude and informative as my last one. Speaking of crude, Machamp uses Goro’s cock and balls like a speedbag. A moderately sized, leathery speedbag. Seriously, those things should be as big as an entire grapefruit.

 Anyways, time to talk about the big, sweaty, four armed man-thing that will win. As far as I know, Machamp has every advantage except for experience. Buuuut that really doesn’t mean anything against Machamp’s vastly superior stats and mastery of every martial art. Also, Machamp’s moveset counters Goro VERY hard. Dynamicpunch will get Goro confused, Encore (for some fucking reason Let’s Go gives that to him) will lock Goro into one move, which’ll be detrimental to the Shokan if he gets locked into just throwing punches and Knock Off can make him lose his gauntlets. Machamp can also increase its own strength and defense with Bulk Up, and lower Goro’s speed and defenses with Leer and Scary Face. Lastly, Seismic Toss can throw Goro into orbit. Also, if Goro’s fire breath manages to burn Machamp, that only benefits him due to Guts. And all of this doesn’t even touch upon other material, such as the anime and manga. Also, just putting this out there, I don’t really agree with a lot of the scaling stuff proposed for Machamp, but he already stomps Goro hard without it, so it don’t matter lul

Aight, so I’ll spare y’all the novel bullshit everyone else is putting out and get this done quick and dirty.

The winner of this fight is obvious. Like, braindead. But before we get into all that shit, lemme waste y’all time a little and start by getting some shit outta the way. I don’t buy the planet-multiversal Mortal Kombat shenanigans. I think trying to scale Goro to any of those kinds of things requires a lot of assumptions and things that quite frankly just don’t add up, and is hardly consistent. Similarly, I think a lot of the shit people try to slap on every pokemon in VS, not just Machamp, is also ridiculous. I don’t think scaling him to random bullshit feats other pokemon have done checks out just because “Oh, this pokemon is a third-stage, it can probably contend with that or react to this,” when there’s literally no grounds for it. As such, I’ll be considering both Goro and Machamp a lot lower than the other folks on the blog in my verdict.

Now that that’s outta the way, we can get into the fun shit.

Again, this fight is obvious. If we’re talking about the superior, four-armed combat and all their incarnations across the multiverse, then the answer is clearly Four-Arms from Ben 10. He’s got the height, the strength, the speed and the arsenal to take out the other two, no effort. Goro’s pew pew piss-off energy beams? Laughable. Machamp’s move list? Basic. But you know what my nigga Four-Arms has? The fuck omnitrix. My guy has an answer to every conceivable problem he could possibly encounter in this battle, and the ability to rise far above and beyond them.

Four-Arms’ got four arms for two ass claps, and Goro and Machamp’ll never see it coming.

Either people hate Goro that much, or they seriously underestimate Pokemon because Goro is 100% screwed here. First off, just looking at the Pokedex entries, Machamp is absolutely broken. Punching 125 times per arm per second, being strong enough to push mountains with a single hand, knowing every martial art ever? That’s bad enough. I also know some people don’t believe that Pokedex entries are legit (which I say that’s bullcrap, because they certainly are), but you know what? Fine. Let’s give the benefit of the doubt on that part

It doesn’t even matter because just by scaling and showing the feats they have, a wild Machamp still beats out Goro. Heck, adding a trainer just makes it worse thanks to Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing. Nothing Goro has can take on something like an Alakazam or a Dragonair, both of which Machamp can scale to. Pokemon is a ridiculously strong verse that honestly gets downplayed a lot by people, and I’m not just saying that as a Pokemon fan. Hell, I’m an MK fan too, if my presence on every blog involving a Mortal Kombat character since Season 4 wasn’t evident enough. Goro’s only advantage is his centuries of experience, which won’t be nearly enough. Looks like Machamp will disarm the Shokan Prince with a victory

Still, I’m an MK fan, though my heart has always been more geared towards Johnny Cage, Mileena, and Scorpion. The latter two of whom are dead. Thanks Netherrealm. As for Machamp, I’ve always been more of a fan of the Gastly and Abra lines, but hey, one’s used by Bea, the best Galar Gym Leader(Fight me Melony fans. I’ll lose, but I’ll die on this hill), so they’re alright in my book. As for who wins? Well, I think I’m gonna go against the grain here and side with Goro. Machamp may be magnitudes of times stronger, and maybe it’s a master of every single martial art known to man, and yeah, it’s way more versatile with its various abilities which totally hard-counter any of Goro’s options and widen the stat gap even more than it already was, and while it may be able to turn into a gigantic kaiju that can literally squash Goro like a bug, and-yeah, you get the picture, right? Goro’s outclassed in literally every conceivable manner aside from speed, which is roughly even. The Shokan Prince’s only advantages going into this are his ruthlessness and his experience, which mean jack and shit when your opponent dwarfs you in every way. Literally, in terms of Gigantimax Machamp. Yeah, there’s arguments to be made that Goro may be planetary or universal via scaling to Shao Kahn who once survived the Elder Gods trying to kill him, but they’re really iffy, if’n ya ask me, and there’s no real good evidence that Goro scales to the literal god-tiers of Mortal Kombat, especially when non-god-tiers like Johnny Cage(I love ya man, but you can only kick Elder Gods’s asses by virtue of The Glow) and Kung Lao have kicked his ass, and both of ‘em are decidedly not Elder God-level at all. Almost any major instance of a mid-tier character(AKA Goro Tier) fighting Elder Gods has required them to have some amp in order to do so. Johnny Cage and later Cassie Cage defeating Shinnok? They’re descended from a warrior cult bred to kill gods. Jax and Jacqui throwing down with Cetrion? Used a souped-up version of Kronika’s Crown to even try and fight on par with her, and they both acknowledged that without the crown, they were fucked. Liu Kang defeating Kronika? He needed literal divine intervention in the form of fusing with Raiden’s god powers to become Fire God Liu Kang. And even then, with the absolute ludicrousness of the Adventures manga and the Mystery Dungeon and Conquest games? Goro’s still outmatched there by virtue of normal-ass Pokemon throwing down with THE GODDAMN CREATION TRIO.

Simply put, Goro may be the champion of the Mortal Kombat tournament five hundred years running, but that don’t mean squat, ‘cause Machamp is in a league all its own, brother. Guess the Superpower Pokemon’s gonna add a new belt on top of its old one, because in the end, Goro Sho-kan’t stand up to Machamp.

Doom Eternal is a great game I fucking love it, definitely would’ve been my GOTY if it came out in 2019 but at the same time fuck the Marauders, fuck those bitch ass motherfuckers, fuck them harder than Machamp is going to fuck Goro.

Yeah making yet another short verdict because there’s not really a lot to talk about that hasn’t already been said. Machamp takes the stat trinity pretty handily, has stat buffing moves to increase the gap in stats, and has moves like Scary Face to lower Goro’s stats (Yes Goro is gonna be pissing himself by some manlet animal looking at him funny) yeah Goro’s 2,000 years of experience sure looks nice and all but it really won’t mean shit with how outclassed he is in every other level.

So TLDR General Grievous would stomp both of these assholes.

First time part of this and starting off by saying hi. It’s an honor to be able to work with all these wonderful people and being able to contribute to this blog. I hope that even after this is done, I’ll still be able to keep in contact with these guys.

Now with that out of the way, onto the matchup itself. The battle of the four armed meatheads. The Superpower Pokemon or the Shokan Prince. Now, anybody who knows me knows that I’m a massive Pokemon fan. On the other hand, I’ve played maybe an hour of Mortal Kombat 3 on an emulator back in 2013 in high school Freshman year. But I’ve talked to a handful of people knowledgeable on the series and read the blog and feats and I can make an unbiased decision. But before that, mentioning the Pokedex here. There’s no problem with the Pokedex entries being used. No, they’re not written by Red or Ethan or whoever. They’re written by the professors, after extensive research. That’s the first thing said about the Pokedex. That it automatically records information on the species. Also, how convenient would it be that say, Red and May, despite never having met, would write the exact same entry for Typhlosion word for word? Simple answer, it wouldn’t be, because they’re not writing it. Finally, PokeSpe, which DB will use given it was used for Mewtwo and Lucario, shows that the Pokedex entries are 100% legit, as seen with Agatha’s Arbok. But yeah. Back to the match.

Goro has his fair share of advantages. At 500 years of experience, he eclipses Machamp by far. And he’s more ruthless, given he’s well… a killer. Dude has Fatalities. Machamp doesn’t. He also has a small advantage in close quarters combat, given he’s a bigger dude and therefore has longer arms.

Unfortunately for him, there is literally nothing else going in his favor. In terms of pure stats, he’s not Machamp’s equal. The numbers don’t lie, and Machamp’s both faster and stronger. Mountain pushing and mountain destruction with itself and Pupitar respectively. Given how straightforward of a fighter Goro is, that alone would seal the deal. But even if they were equals, Machamp edges him out in every category not listed in the above paragraph. Skill? Sure, Goro knows a few martial arts, but Machamp is a master of them all. Ranged fireballs? Gets countered by Light Screen, being weakened by half, and can counter with thrown rocks or energy fists. And Arceus forbid it burns Machamp activates Guts, only increasing the stat difference. Tremors? Gets completely negated by Wide Guard, which doesn’t have the Protect weakness of being incapable of being spammed. Goro’s weapons? Knock Off knocks them off, and Machamp’s attack hurts more because of it. And those are just ways Machamp counters Goro’s own things. That’s not even considering Machamp’s advantages on his own, like his statistics lowering via Scary Face or Leer, the statuses of the Elemental Punches and Dynamic Punch, the latter having its accuracy problem fixed via Foresight, and Machamp just punishing Goro for attacking it via Bide, Counter, and Revenge. And even on the off chance Goro lands a fatal blow, the Focus Band creates a greater-than-zero chance that said blow won’t actually be fatal. Mind you, this isn’t even considering the skyscraper sized elephant in the room that is Gigantamax Machamp, where even the size advantage Goro instantly disappears in a hilarious gap. Sorry, Goro. You may be Macho, but Machamp is going to make you Brace for impact. Get it? Macho Brace? I'll...see myself out.

It’s been a long, dry time for this season for me. Most of the fights, I’ve been fairly impartial to, due to the series used. Marvel and DC, I’m fairly burnt out on, I’m impartial to AgK, OPM, TMNT, and have a solid dislike for Fairy Tail, Power Rangers, and Mortal Kombat. I know a lot of people are enjoying this season, but I’ve been having a rough time. And then I saw the next fight. Mortal Kombat’s like… Fourth biggest jobber, behind Kintaro, Baraka, and Quan Chi getting his balls crushed. Against Machamp, my second favorite Pokemon of all time, and notably the first time when it isn’t a Mascot pokemon.

As you’ve seen above, Machamp has plenty that puts him above the usual things that most folks put Goro at, and likely, above the things Death Battle itself will give him. There are a lot of things though that likely won’t be in the DB that are still very much worth addressing. Considering how much of Vs comes down to interpretation, what’s going to be a large building level character in death battle, can potentially be argued up to planet level, to universal. But what if Death Battle DID use those stats? Well, our dear little Machamp would be fucked, right? Strangely enough? Not so. 

Using scaling and plenty of basic concepts for this community, it’s actually pretty easy to argue Machamp up just as much, if not outright rational. Goro scaling up to Shao Khan being planet level? Sure, well a Machop just low kicked Rayquaza in the Quetzalcoatl dick over in Mystery dungeon, immediately before Papa RayRay hyper beamed a meteor that was causing natural disasters on earth months before it was even actually visible. Bringing that Shao Khan feat up to universal? Faaaair enough, well the same machops in mystery dungeon can beat the shit out of Dark Matter, an entity that casually one-shotted Arceus and several other legendary pokemon. Too much Mystery Dungeon? Fair enough, in the Darkrai animated movie, Dialga and Palkia are clashing with attacks that are going to collapse the universe, and an attack is nulled out by a Buizel and a Pachirisu. Machamp would undoubtedly scale to this, alongside the speed from dodging attacks like Doom Desire.

My overall point here is not to say that yes, Death Battle SHOULD be giving us a Universal Machamp, it’s more to say that even should one buy into Universal Mortal Kombat, which can potentially be argued as true, depending on your disposition for such, Machamp still isn’t out of the race provided you give him the same affordances Goro is being given. So let’s assume both are identical in stats. Both Relativistic and Universe level, on the nose. Machamp still wins, for a lot of the reasons outlined above. Machamp’s kit is just so perfectly tailored to putting Goro down. Knock off to get rid of the weapons. Mastering all martial arts to counter Goro’s experience. Wide guard for quakes, Steadfast for if any strong hits make him flinch. Mental manipulation, guts for if he’s burned. In the event that the stats are perfectly even, it still comes down to Machamp just having more options, and ones that can shut Goro down. Looks like Machamp winning is just a Four-gone conclusion. (No, I’m not just stealing that joke from when they did this as a DBC, because I was the one who’s response they used. PS, Ben stumbling over my name was fun.)

Anyone who’s seen me in one of these knows what kind of shit I’m on when it comes to MK, so I’ll cut to the chase. Goro has good scaling opportunities to Kotal Kahn and Liu Kang, who both directly scale to Shao Kahn. Pretty straightforward, since Shao Kahn can merge realms together, which is at least planetary (even at the lowest of interpretations) if not universal, given much evidence (and Word of God) to suggest that Realms are entire universes in MK, and not just the globe. 

On top of this, Shao Kahn tanks attacks with intent to kill from all of the Elder Gods + Raiden, because if he continually succeeded in his goals of conquest and realm merging, the Elder Gods and all life in the realms would be consumed by the One Being.

Before it comes up, no, they didn't just amp Raiden. Yes, those dragons were actually them. Many games before MK11 have outright said the true forms of the Elder Gods are dragons. Why MK11 retconned this, I have no idea, but that's also why MK's logo is a dragon in the first place.

Shao Kahn scaling to Cetrion includes scaling to her indisputably large planet level feat as well as her and the other Elder Gods’ combined feat of splitting the original infinite sized universe into multiple realms.

So that’s strength, but what about speed, you may be asking?
Well, Goro’s got that covered too, thanks to Kotal Kahn and his main ability being to weaponize sun beams. As of me writing this verdict, Goro actually has the very slight speed advantage, though I won't be surprised if something shifts this somewhat more in Machamp's favor. (As of right now, I’m somewhat against Solar Beam being light speed since it’s apparently far more often been displayed as something unlike a weaponized beam of light, as opposed to an energy attack powered by solar energy)

Admittedly, when it comes to abilities, healing options, and stat buffs, Machamp will be in the clear lead, with far more options. However, I doubt that it will help too much if Goro has the overwhelming strength and durability advantage. 

As for Machamp’s stats, they’re tricky, because they vary based on the incarnation/variation of Machamp, whether or not it’s wild or trained, and if it was hatched from an egg to have certain abilities. Best case scenario for Machamp to beat Goro is for it to be a trained Pokemon, because you could potentially use Pokemon Mystery Dungeon or certain in-game scaling opportunities to legendaries to say that Machamp can be on a similar level.

I personally see this as pushing it a bit, since we don’t know what Pokemon most of the trainers "canonically" have when they fight the legendaries aside from their starter Pokemon, and every known trained Machamp has no such scaling chain.

So assuming that Machamp is going in this fight as a wild Pokemon, I’m going to have to say that Goro, the Prince of Shokan, is going to make Machamp Shokan HIS DICK. HAH, GOTTEM.

So we went from Gray vs Esdeath, highly debatable shit where nobody had a damn clue who won and stats were shaky to find to this. I’m just gonna save myself the trouble and just do a tldr of why Machamp’s about to end up punching Goro so hard he explodes like this is Borderlands. Better stat trio even with crazy scaling, and Machamp scaling to stuff like Ray is more believable than Goro to Kahn, Machamp outhaxes like crazy with stat buffs and debuffs to Goro, if we allow Gigantamax it’s a literal stomp, and the two things Goro can do that Machamp can’t, use a weapon and breath fire end up HELPING Machamp (Knock Off deals extra damage if the enemy has an item and Guts exists.) Dual Chop debatably fucks Goro over because he’s a dragon man. The ONLY thing Goro has going for him is spending 500 years killing people for sport. And even then Machamp has intimate knowledge of every fighting style so he can likely pull out some random thing Goro’s never seen before (HipHop-Kido Machamp anyone?) 

In other words. 

This can only end in one way.

The Draconic Hero

(Everyone be switching up their images. We’re dealing with Pokemon. I’m a dragon fan. It felt appropriate. I freaking LOVE Salamence)

So, I flubbed my logic last time around with Gray Vs Esdeath. Here’s a quick summary for what I did wrong since I’m not above admitting to my mistakes: 
The holes in my argument were looking at CiC not as a stat boost but as a measure of Esdeath's power in general. And also that since the power difference is so vast none of Gray's attacks were really going to cut it except for Lost Iced Shell, which means Mahapadma wouldn't be used until then. AND given the vast physical difference between Gray and Esdeath, Gray wouldn't have been able to completely No-Sell Mahapadma. Therefore, Esdeath had just the right amount of opportunity take him down.

Huh? Oh, right. Machamp Vs Goro. So, originally I wasn’t going to toss my two cents in here, but honestly, being part of this blog is just too danged fun, so here I am. When I first heard about this matchup, I had a similar reaction to Nerd-Bot’s. I’m decisively NOT hype for this matchup, but like Machamp with his muscles, I’m not gonna say no to an opportunity to flex my logic. Here’s hoping I’m better at it this time than Gray vs Esdeath (That’ll teach me to double down on a verdict in haste). 

(clears throat) So, it’s like this. Machamp clearly stat stomps across the board just based on the ridiculousness of the good old Pokedex. Speed is really not a factor in this fight at all given Machamp can have No Guard, which means all attacks land on both sides of the table and that includes Dynamic Punch--though even at their highest scaled, speed is a 3% difference so it hardly matters anyway. Goro will be hitting himself in confusion while Machamp continues to wail on him at 500 punches a second. And even if Machamp were somehow lagging behind in base stats, it naturally learns Bulk Up, which means its attack and durability can go up six levels and if it’s given Guts, then it’s attack power will multiply by 1.5 if Goro makes it suffer a burn.
Goro doesn’t have nearly enough advantages to turn the tide.

What? You thought I’d talk about scaling? HAH! No, uh, just no. Nuts to the scaling. Nuts to the “these characters are planet level”. If planetary scaling was possible for both, Sindel would’ve handed Black Canary her beautiful blonde ass. There’s no way, DB would change tune and make that argument for Goro. And honestly, you really don’t need the scaling to that great of an extent. Goro’s likely got some feat from somewhere that’ll be brought up in the episode proper and I’m going to just “sip tea” as it were as that falls flat in the face of Machamp’s “Megaton” punch.

Not much else to say really cause in the end, Goro just can’t handle the Champ!

Okay I’ll say something of substance

Leonardo VS Red Ranger Jason - This was a sick one. Didn’t quite live up to the hype, but it’s a blast from the past so it’s a lot of fun. Jason won as expected, losing streak is no more, and TMNP is fantastic. Awesome VAs, too. Would like to see more retro aesthetic in the future. Favorite episode so far.

Genos VS War Machine - And the first hand drawn fight of the season. Odd choice, maybe a waste of a hand drawn slot, but for what it is, it’s fine. Wouldn’t say I prefer it to Leo vs Jason, but...good episode. Rhodey’s W was obvious. VAs killed it. Third place.

Gray VS Esdeath - I still personally prefer Leo vs Jason, but this is pretty awesome. Analyses were good, jokes were snappy, and animation was cool. No puns. Mispronunciations irked me a little but I understand, and some of the VA’s lines were shaky. “Boot against your face” in particular. All in all, second favorite of the season, good job.

And on to 125. I dunno if this can really be called a milestone, as it’s not anything special in terms of requests or anything. At least it’s gonna be 3D, so the animation could possibly sell me on this even happening. 

Disappointed this is it, but I am quite excited to see more Pokemon, especially a total Chad like Machamp. Yeah, he’s a manlet, but whatever.

Goro’s mincemeat anyway. Goro knows various martial arts, Machamp knows all of them. Goro’s strong, but he ain’t throwing down with no creation trio. Machamp’s rela scaling is more solid, and his various stat boosts ensure that he’s always one step ahead. Even Planet-Universal Machamp seems to have more backing to it than Planet-Universal Goro from Mystery Dungeon and Legendary shit.

Yeah, the Shokan has more experience and has the ruthlessness, but that won’t really matter when he’s been flattened.

And uh...that’s about it. Not really a fan of the matchup, but it’s got episode potential.

Venusaurus

Goro vs Machamp….god i never thought I'd see the day this episode is made. This episode is honestly my dream fight for them to do,like I have been wanting to see this episode tackled for years, even though it's so stupid. Now this may be surprising to hear but i actually like Goro. He always looked really cool to me and I loved how he was in the original movie. A terrifying giant who just starts slaughtering through the Kompetition of the winning humans until the best Kombatant lost some 500 dollar sunglasses to him and showed him how we fight. Machamp I’ve liked since i saw it in the gen 3 games since i never really beat gen 1 to the point to see the E4, so my first introduction to Machamp was from the anime and Pokemon Sapphire. I've always liked Multi-Armed beings, and this match up has always been at the top. 

Getting to the episode itself, both Kombatants are very skilled in the things they do here, but even though they are skilled….one clearly outclasses the other. Y'all know how crazy pokemon are? Well Machamp embodies this well. The pokedex entries for Machamp are honestly really stupid and i love it. Pokemon yellow says Machamp can “move a mountain with just one of its 4 arms.” Granted this doesn't specify what size mountain but even putting it to the smallest sized mountain in the world, Mount Wycheproof which is 141 feet tall, that's still literal LEAGUES above what Goro could ever move. Machamps also able to punch 1000 times in two seconds, meaning 500 punches a second, which puts Machamps striking speed at some numbers i honestly dont know, but thats stupid fast cause if ya boil it down, thats 125 punches he can send out in 1/4th of a second. Also keep in mind, the pokedex also says machamp punches with a MEGATON LEVEL of force with each punch. Not all 1000 punches combined, not two 500 punches equal the megaton,no no no. One…...single…...PUNCH…..from this pokemon strikes with a force that is equal to 1 million tons of Tnt. AND MACHAMP CAN PUNCH 1000 OF THESE IN TWO SECONDS…..oh yea i should maybe talk about goro. Um….he…..is big? He's part dragon which is cool. He's won against many opponents like uh….the weaker earthrealmers in the past....um….the humans in the movie….the dangerous 500 dollar sunglasses(which were ugly btw i think we can all agree) but like….he is just so screwed. While goro has a shit ton of experience due to him being over 2000 years old, he's not a martial arts master like a machamp is. Machamp simply outclassed Goro in Strength and martial arts mastery. Goro may have more experience, but he has never fought an opponent as ridiculous as Machamp. Goro is mortally screwed against this Champ of a Kombatant. Also Goro is currently dead in the MK timeline….so yea he's about to be dead again. Machamp for the win baby

  4. I am going to say this out of respect. How some of you speak about Goro is truly down right terrible. Did we really need it to get this level of disgusting guys? I do agree Goro is going to lose. At the same time, can't you show him a little more respect than you actually did.
