Death Battle Predictions: Scooby-Doo VS Courage the Cowardly Dog

It seems that nature has given the dog to man for his defense and for his pleasure. Of all the animals, it is the most faithful: it is the best friend man can possibly have- Voltaire

Scooby-Doo, The Mascot of Mystery Incorporated.

Courage, The Cowardly Dog.

Man’s best friend. A loyal pal who is there by your side no matter what, even if they’re constantly on the verge of a heart attack. The things they do for love can vary greatly, whether it’s doing special tricks, playing games with you, or battling supernatural ghouls, ghosts, and monsters in order to save the day. And if that last one just so happens to occur quite a lot in your life, look no further than these two canine companions to save the day!

These two supernatural-thwarting dogs have seen their fair share of horrors throughout the years, and have even teamed up to take them on in the past, but what would happen if these two were tasked with outsmarting the other? Can Scooby piece together the clues to defeat the Cowardly Dog, or will Courage muster up the… well, courage to defeat Mystery Incorporated’s trusty mutt? It’s about time we solve the mystery of who would win a DEATH BATTLE!

Before We Start…

Scooby-Doo has existed since 1969, and this is just a reminder that the Scooby-Doo franchise is heavily crossover-centric, so much so that the second and thirteenth shows use crossovers as its main gimmick, as well as many movies, a few of the games, and even an entire comic series. Despite this, the media guide does not include these series, likely due to VS prohibiting crossovers generally. However, this blog may (okay, will) include some crossover material all the same, so feel free to disregard it if using it doesn’t vibe with you.

Background

Scooby

"Scooby Dooby Doo!”

Scooby’s story has been told many times, and in many ways. But some sources are more consistent than others. We know for sure that Shaggy adopted Scooby as a puppy as a young boy, and the two have been inseparable ever since. Soon after, he would become friends with Fred, Daphne and Velma. It seems that this friendship also kicked off their knack for mystery solving, since even as kids, strange things happened all the time. Monsters were quick to scare people away for one reason or another, but they’d soon be revealed to be greedy oil barons or jealous millionaires in disguise.

Noticing their skill in this field, this group of friends would make their business official (somewhat) and be known as the Mystery Gang, with Scooby acting as both a mascot and bit a lot of the time. Despite his many years of experience, he and Shaggy have never been the bravest kind of people, but their love of food and willingness to come through for their friends has always triumphed over their natural cowardice. Scooby’s work would make him a superstar, known by all kinds of celebrities around the world. He’s best buds with the Harlem Globetrotters, Batman, Weird Al, Yogi Bear, the Hex Girls; the list goes on. And it’s thanks to these friendships and his surprisingly spotless mystery solving track record that has solidified Scooby as a household name. So if there’s something strange in your neighborhood, you know who to call, just make sure you have Scooby Snacks on hand. Even if he doesn't seem ready, or willing, we can always count on Scooby-Doo to catch and unmask that villian.

Courage

"The things I do for love…"

In a quaint little house in the middle of Nowhere lives the elderly married couple of Muriel and Eustace Bagge. On the surface, it looks like nothing notable could ever happen there, but as it turns out, creepy stuff happens to fall upon them time and time again. Who’s there to save the old couple from the terrors that crawl out from the darkest corners of the Earth and beyond? Why, none other than their canine companion, Courage the Cowardly Dog!

Initially abandoned as a puppy after his parents were sent into outer space by a crazed and cruel veterinarian, Courage would be soon found and (properly) named by Muriel Bagge, giving him his eponymous name. She would take in the young pup as a member of her family, much to the chagrin of her husband Eustace. With a roof to live under and the care of a kind old lady, life seemed to be looking up for Courage… until a spaceship filled with alien chickens sought to invade Earth and take Courage’s new home along with it. From there, Courage’s adventures into the creepy and crawly began, running into paranormal activity time and time again, with the responsibility of thwarting these horrific monsters falling onto the dog.

Courage, while as loving and loyal as a Komainu, is, as the show name implies, cowardly, and is consistently terrified of any and all threats that come to him and his family. But as his actual name implies, he’s able to build up the bravery to stand up to these horrors day in and day out and come up with a solution to save Muriel, Eustace and himself. Even if it’s ultimately a life of living in the middle of nowhere, Courage will do anything and everything to protect the quiet little life he’s grown to love. Even if it makes Eustace look bad.

Experience & Skill

Scooby

Scooby has been in the mystery business ever since he was a puppy, having solved numerous mysteries over the years (over 200 and counting), which has given him plenty of time to expect the unexpected. Yet, he always believes monsters are real and is quick to hide under a carpet. Admittedly, fighting has always been more of a Scrappy Doo kind of thing, but look where he ended up. Scooby often relies a lot more on his wits and creativity, which he has in spades, even back when he was a puppy.

In most encounters with a villain, Scooby will often not directly face his opponent, preferring to use deceit and trickery to catch them off guard and rile them up, and ultimately his end goal in a fight tends to be leading whoever he is facing into one of the gang’s many traps they tend to set up at Fred’s insistence. From an outsider’s glance many of these set ups seem as if they could be easily avoided if someone were to act rationally and carefully, especially since many traps rely on things such as trip wires or trap doors or the like, but Scooby is surprisingly effective as bait and getting someone right where he wants them. Though there are also times he ends up getting caught in the trap alongside them. Nobody’s perfect, after all.

This all said, if there’s no other option, or those natural canine instincts to protect those he loves come into play, Scooby is willing to throw hands/paws. Scooby's goofy demeanor shouldn't fool you. Scooby has claimed to know Karate and is shown to be skilled enough to compete against different WWE wrestlers such as Kane, the Undertaker, and even the ghost bear; all of whom have been in the professional wrestling game for years. He's also outsmarted and trapped the Miz (an actual mastermind) on the actual WWE Show. Said wrestlers are more than meets the eye, and are trained in various martial arts to match all sorts of styles. Scooby was able to out maneuver Kane with no difficulty through imagining that he’s playing a video game alone brings a lot to the table, as Kane has been wrestling for decades, and has fought/been able to catch the greatest high-flyers in WWE history just fine. They use their agility, size, and acrobatic skills to avoid attacks or swiftly take down their opponents from up from great heights and below (Scooby is a fanboy of Sin Cara; a wrestler who specializes in this).

Besides the average wrestling skills, in both TV and comics, wrestlers have fought demons, spiritual beings, the undead, Chuck Norris, and more unspeakable creatures. The most notable part is definitely taking into account that Triple H is King Arthur (Firstborn and behind the persona Inferno) who ends up meeting his rival Josiah the Shadow king, two immortal warriors who have fought since the dawn of time. Josiah has been into war and mastered his swordsmanship. The ultimate warrior also exists who has his intensity fueled by the universal power that connects all warriors throughout the galaxy.

Scooby has been trained and enlightened in the ways of the samurai and has also fought against the ghost of the black samurai with shaggy. He's gone up against all the 13th ghosts, most notably, Maldor the Malevolent who was The master of black magic in the dark ages and rivaled him in a duel of magic, completely infuriating him to the point he didn't realize he was vulnerable.

Courage

Despite his small size and harmless appearance, Courage is surprisingly extremely skilled, resourceful and clever. His cowardice does actually have its own benefits, as Courage is constantly alert and overly cautious, making it extremely difficult to trick or catch him off-guard.

Courage is surprisingly skilled in a combat sense as well. He could outfence the Space Chicken rather easily and block all of its fencing attacks with no shown issue, despite having shown no fencing skills prior. He could match the Evil Empress of China in a fight, including disarming her of her weapon, dodging her quick attacks, using the surrounding weaponry to his advantage and turning the fight into a hand-to-hand brawl, in which he could block all of her attacks and match her martial arts skills. He is also quite agile, being able to perform 16 backflips in one go and hop from cannonball to cannonball as they’re shot at him in quick succession.

Equipment

Scooby

Flashlight

Standard equipment for any mystery solver, great for shining light in dark areas.

Claws

Scooby being a dog obviously has claws. These claws allow him to cut through solid surfaces, and Scooby can alter his claws to different items. He can even cut through fog with them… somehow. Scooby can unlock locks with a single claw. Scooby has used these bad boys to burrow quickly to his advantage.

Tail

When he's not running with it between his legs, Scooby's tail proves to be a useful tool for him in various situations, being able to use it as an extra hand/paw to hold tools or open doors, tap people on the back, or other outlandish uses such as a makeshift motor or a saw (Scooby-Doo Show Episode 8). Now that's worth wagging your tail about. Scooby can even move it should no other part of his body be present, such as when he repaired his body back together with his tail.

Scooby can utilize his tail as a propeller, a spring to bounce his way out, he can use it as a lasso to grab people with such precision. Scooby’s tail isn’t just a body part for him to utilize, his tail seemingly has a mind of its own being able to redirect Scoobert if he’s going in the wrong direction. The tail has been used to detect clues/people and it can whistle to alert our dog Scooby Doo! It can greatly extend itself, and Scooby’s tail and super sniffer have worked together as well. Such wild body parts the dog possesses.

The Super Sniffer (Nose)

Scooby’s super sniffer is his nose, the nose’s characteristics run in the family thanks to Scooby’s parents’ noses being able to perform these too. Surprisingly this nose is capable of all sorts of toony antics while also being a great clue finder. Essentially his nose has a mind of its own. The nose can force itself to pop off Scooby himself and proceed to grow limbs to find the monster/clue, and then the nose barks to call in Scooby once it finds what it needs to find. Befitting for his toony nature, his nose can levitate and move on its own to find anything Scoob needs. In addition, it’s stated to be more efficient than a metal detector.

The nose has been shown to:

-Duplicate: Can grow three more noses on top of it.

-Vacuum: A method for Scoobert to pull in items at a great distance or up close.

-Shapeshift: Can shapeshift into instruments (plays actual notes), a clue detector, and a magnet to pull Scooby to any clue.

-Contain A Man?: Strange as it sounds, Scooby’s super-sniffer contains a fellow detective in it to guide and assist Scooby for the mystery.

It has shown to again forcefully remove itself off Scooby without Scoobert having to do it. The nose is also a detective! It brings Scooby to a clue physically.

After biting his own tail for mistaking it as the hotdog wiener, Scooby accidentally electrocuted himself on Velma’s invention the Mystery Detector. Due to exposure to the ray, Scooby’s nose has become the invention itself. This means Scooby’s nose will flash red when it detects a mystery to be solved that specifically involves him and the gang and the blinking will stop once the mystery is solved.

Smoke Gun

Scooby can pack some heat and shoot out some smoke.

Scooby Snacks

An exceptionally delicious dog biscuit/regular biscuit/nobody really knows that the other members of the Mystery Gang regularly use to bribe Scooby and Shaggy to put themselves into dangerous situations. There’s almost nothing that he won’t do for a Scooby Snack. There’s even been occasions where a Scooby Snack has proven effective enough to wake Scooby up from unconsciousness.

Weirdly, despite being named “Scooby Snacks”, they are most often portrayed as commercial products that are sold all over the world, most notably in Russia and Japan.

At times these Scooby snacks have shown to have some weird effects on Scooby. Such as making his body jump and morph around into different objects, most well known, a rocket. It also made him and Shaggy able to enter Velma’s mindscape once they ate a Scooby snack… somehow. These delicious snacks are also capable of making Scooby do the funni spinach man by completely amping his strength, making the dane super buff. Not to mention, if he eats a truckload of them, he turns into a massive blimp of immense weight. Scooby can also eat a super jumbo sized Scooby snack which gives him enough to sneeze an entire ghost’s body away. These Scooby snacks have also been stated to have some spiritual presence to them, as well as being magical, probably the reason why they're so good. Scooby snacks in the games have shown to heal Scooby, refill his energy, and allow him to regain his strength.

He also has a ton of boxes of Scooby snacks, having an entire storage of those tasty things. Each with its different flavor. Scooby owns a lifetime supply of the bubble gum flavor, which acts exactly as the name implies

Oddly enough, Scooby once received a Secret Squirrel-esque hat that can feed him Scooby Snacks if he is somehow in danger of running dry of them.

Nanite Scooby Snacks

Nanite Scooby Snacks are a more advanced version of aforementioned Scooby Snacks forged from a nanotechnology formula created by Shaggy's uncle, Dr. Albert, in Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get A Clue!.

These snacks give Scooby plenty of amazing powers, switching to another power if he eats the specific snack, and fading when Scooby burps, typically whenever his job with them is done.

Dr. Phives, a rival doctor, has also said if one ingests enough of the Nano formula in one day, they become temporarily immune to their effects, so he can't eat his entire supply rapid fire. Still, Scooby ate 5 from what he can see in presumably the middle of the day, only being done when it was night time, after far more snacks were consumed. His being immune to the snacks lasted into an unknown time still at night, but likely something akin to a few hours (Season 2 Episode 5). Each Scooby snack can grant Scooby a myriad of different abilities depending on the type consumed; this includes but of course is not limited to:

Invisibility Snack: Scooby can become completely invisible to the naked eye.

Bubble Shield Snack: Scooby can blow a pink bubble that acts as an omnidirectional barrier to protect him or others around him from harm.

Size Alteration Snack: Scooby can inflate his body in a similar way to a balloon increasing his size by a considerable amount.

Duplication Snack: Scooby can split himself to make 4 clones of himself. He used this to make 10 clones of himself by his admission to eat a Grand Canyons worth of Gelatin in a short time. And after, he had the fat for a while, but got rid of it all at the end of the day while tired, via burping for a while, as did Shaggy (Season 2 Episode 5). Made 6 clones of Scooby that acted somewhat independently to do separate activities on a ship (Season 2 Episode 6)

Magnetism Snack: Scooby can become a living magnet and suck in any metal

Super/Hyper Speed Snack: Scooby can run really fast and after getting a whole bag he can go back in time. incredibly fast in both perceptions and movement speed, rapidly and accurately shooting "a thousand" nanobots in seconds while the size of microbes (Season 2 Episode 3)

Small Size Snack: With this snack, Scooby can turn small, shrinking down to the size of a microchip.

Mech Form Snack: After eating one of the nanite snacks he can turn into a giant robot and even turn his tail into a scissor tail. In this mech form Scooby can fly around and create force fields.

Super Strength/Super-Duper Strength Snack: With this snack, Scooby not only one-shot two people and Dr Phineus, he also gains a strength increase, and with super duper he becomes a giant.

Morphing Snack: If Scooby touches you he can turn into you, giving him all your stuff. Such as when It turned Scooby into a clone of a specific soldier after he made contact with him. While it's a perfect copy of the one Scooby touches, it still has his tail and presumably voice. His tail being grabbed later automatically changed him into the guy grabbing him, and shaking hands with Shaggy had the same effect, and tackling the doctor guy did the same thing… no this isn't plagiarism-

Soundwave Snack: Scooby can make soundwaves.

Forcefield Snack: Scooby can make a forcefield (season 2 episode 5)

Jaguar Snack: Shaggy gave this to Scooby so he could turn into a jaguar and match the doctor guys cat reflexes, and deflect lasers with his bare claws

Super-Sizer Scooby Snack: Used this to grow back from being the size of microbes/nanobots in seconds. (Season 2 Episode 3)

Flight Scooby Snack: Let him fly for a time, which he immediately adjusted to.

Super Scooba Snack: Turns him into a dolphin with appropriate speech (Season 2 Episode 6).

Super-Elasto Snack: Elongated his arm to stretch out of a net and a few dozen feet at least to reach Evil Fives in another room, and his head/neck a similar distance (Season 2 Episode 7).

Super-Monster Snack: Turned Scooby into a giant multi tentacled dragon for a while (Season 2 Episode 8).

Super-Smart Scooby Snack: Made Scooby a genius, actively altering his brain to make him figure things out rapidly on the fly and things of the like (Season 2 Episode 10).

Commander Cool’s Gadgets & Weapons

All of these gadgets are based on the fictional superhero in Scooby’s verse that both him and Shaggy love. Despite being a fictional character within the verse, his gadgets have shown to work. Said gadgets are pulled out by both Shaggy and Scooby, we’ll be showcasing what Scooby has shown to pull out. Scooby loves to do this when he is dressed up as his hero the Mellow Mutt.

Rocket Skates: Based on Shaggy and Scooby’s favorite comic book character Commander Cool, these skates comically give both Shaggy and Scooby a nice speed boost.

Robots: Scooby can pull out robots to assist him. They vary in size.

Transportation Device: With this device a person has shown to teleport elsewhere or even teleport a living being away to a random location.

Cow Repellent: Literal BBQ sauce.

Cool Traps: A variety of traps.

Impenetrable Brick Wall: “They don’t make impenetrable walls like they used to.” - Shaggy, he is right, while this wall did defend Scooby, it soon got destroyed.

Magic Cards

Who doesn't like a little bit of magic? These cards do a plethora of things such as shapeshifting the users into monster disguises, summoning monsters such as a wall of small gnomes…and a guy with a shield. It is also capable of shooting out flowers and transmuting others into different things.

Bat-Hound Costume

Of course, after teaming up with THE Batman, Scooby gained his own suit. With the Bat Hound costume, Scooby gains some new Bat Gadgets ranging from Grappling Hook, Smoke Bombs, and even a Dehydrator.

The Sword Of Fate

Forged many centuries ago in Japan by a sword maker by the name of Masamune, this sword has been used by the almighty Green Dragon to fend off against the Sword Of Doom wielded by the Black Samurai many centuries ago. With his Samurai Scooby getup and the Sword in hand, while teaming up with Shogun Shaggy, his samurai skills are enhanced by a great deal. Capable of flying and even breaking the Sword Of Doom in half, which was powerful enough to clash with the Green Dragon itself, and it was powerful enough during his clash with the Black Samurai many centuries ago too, and I quote “Make Heaven and Earth tremble with their might”, and even cause a volcanic eruption.

The Instant Monster Ray

An invention made by the mad Dr. Von Scareheim. Just as the name implies, this device instantly turns the person Scooby aims at into a monster. They don't just physically change, they also completely change from personality, into a… well, monster. This change also seems to be permanent unless Scooby reverses its effects by pressing on the black button. Once pressed, the person will be turned back to normal and forget everything when they were a monster. This invention can affect multiple people at once.

Lotsa Luck Joy Juice

A lucky charm in a bottle

Man, Flim Flam had a massive glow up in the curse of the 13th ghost. Anyways, you may think he's a con artist, which…fair, but he's far from that. These bottles are truly lucky, they've been able to cure people from a curse that was placed on them by the 13 of the most terrifying ghosts. These juices are also capable of being used as fuel.

Crystal Ball

After Scooby and Shaggy royally fucked up, Vincent van Ghoul; the mystic wonder of the universe, gave the gang a crystal ball to contact him on their journey to capture the 13 ghosts. Vincent can tell the gang where their ghost is, how they work, and what their objective is. The crystal ball has a projector that can give the gang holograms; 3D holograms that can affect the real scooby doo world, such as trains. It is also equipped with a spectral chart to see if there's any spiritual activity in the gang's immediate area.

It also works as a portal between the gang and Vincent's own crystal ball, along with a transporter beam, making it easy for Vincent to be able to come out of it and help the gang or teleport the gang around if they're in danger. It was even capable of teleporting an entire ghost ship.

The Chest of Demons

Because YOU let them out!

In ancient times, 13 of the most terrifying, strong, and ugly demons/ghosts who terrorized the world were trapped safely inside King Solomon's box; a chest that can only be opened by the living. Once Scooby and Shaggy got bamboozled into opening it, they would take this chest with them to try and recapture the ghosts. Once they're sealed in this chest, all the effects the ghost had on the world instantly disappear, such as when all Maldor's evil magic on a forest faded away, or when the gang got trapped in a TV, or when the ghost ship disappeared. It also seems to completely nullify the person's powers once they're trapped, as the ghosts could not use their powers anymore.

Once you open the chest on a night in Winter Solstice, you would gain all the power in the universe, and would free all the demons who would be capable of turning the world into nothing but smoldering ash.

The Wonder Wand of Zagraz

The Wonder Wand from the Wizard Zagraz, a wand so powerful that it's stated that "In good hands could fill the entire world with beauty, but in evil hands could destroy the entire planet". This wand has a plethora of various abilities. It's capable of turning vegetables into several animals, transforming Scooby's head, and even his entire body. It can also generate clothes, which is neat. But besides that, this wand is also incredibly useful against other magicians such as Maldor the malevolent. It was capable of reflecting his magic back at him and transmuting his own magic into flowers.

This wand was capable of reversing Maldor's very magic, such as turning the trees that he turned evil back to normal, or turning the rabbit that he changed into a dragon, back into a rabbit. Lastly it also seems like the wand protected Scooby from Maldor's evil magic.

Tome of Doom

The Tome of Doom is an enigmatic medieval grimoire with the power to ensnare and release monsters, provided it contains the requisite pages to capture the desired creature. It is powered by magical wisps, which can either be walked into or drawn into the book by opening it towards them. It can capture all forms of supernatural critters through automatically hooking the critters that pass in front of the open book, with the enemy being taken into the book by bringing its energy down.

It has captured a multitude of supernatural creatures: Ghosts. Zombies. Dust Devils. Giant Zombies. Shadows. Poltergeists. Mummies. Fire Ghosts, and much more.

The Tome of Doom can also be utilized in different ways. It can be used to dislodge a hanging crate, causing it to fall, and the ‘mystical hand’ created by the book can also be controlled and weaponized.

Pages from the book also grant the ability to summon the monsters they pertain to, and seem to be able to conjure portals which spawn ghosts. The Tome is capable of closing these same portals. These pages can also increase the energy capacity of the Tome of Doom.

One of the most notable summons from the Tome of Doom is The King of Fire. A powerful spirit with the ability to manipulate blue flames, create Fire Ghosts as minions, and levitate. It can even split into several weaker ghosts after being defeated. However, the King of Fire can be neutralized by sprinkles and his flames can be entirely put out by the rain. This does not hinder his combat applicability though. The King of Fire is currently still housed and sealed within the Tome of Doom.

Professor’s Inventions

Inventions from the "claimed to be gone" professor Alexander Graham. Scooby can find and utilize Alexander’s inventions against any foe he comes across. These inventions vary.

Double-Jump Springs: Allows Scooby to jump twice as high.

Bunny Slippers and Lampshade: Allows Scooby to sneak past dim-witted monsters.

Football Helmet: Allows Scooby to smash into monsters, thus killing them.

Soap Bubble: With this, Scooby can blow bubbles, trapping monsters as he pleases. He can also jump on and bounce off them as platforms!

Bubble-Gum: This glorious gadget lets Scooby spit gum at monsters, sticking them to the spot. It doesn't matter if you're on ground or air… you’re going down.

Plunger/Suction Cups: These make it so Scooby can walk up slippery slopes his normal paws can't.

Galoshes: Another fantastic piece of footwear; these let Scooby walk across sticky surfaces and not get stuck. And they like bananas, too.

Black Knight Armor: A better version of the slippers and lampshade. This is able to fool monsters and let Scooby sneak by them.

Umbrella: Allows Scooby to float long distances.

Shovel: Lets Scooby dig up the ground to find buried items.

Lightning Bolt: Allows Scooby to do a Thunder Smash. This involves jumping on monsters and sending lightning down to kill them.

Super Sonic Smash: Grants Scooby the ability to unleash waves that stun the monsters around him momentarily giving him the opportunity to attack!

Food Section

These may look like three pieces of ordinary food at first, but they’re much more than your average candy bar. These foods grant Scooby plenty of powerful abilities, and all of them are stackable onto each other.

Veggie Burger: When Scooby consumes this tasty veggie burger, he becomes invulnerable for a limited time, akin to a Starman from Mario.

Pepper: When Scooby consumes a piping hot pepper, it puts an extra pep in his step, and boost in his striking power, for a limited time.

Ice Cream: When Scooby consumes this sweet treat, it gives him ice breathing abilities, and grants him several snowflakes circling around him so that when he makes contact with someone, they are immediately frozen solid.

Sausage Weapon

Nothing special to this, Scooby uses this to smack enemies and items around the area. Uses this to perform an impactful slam!

Spooky-Buster

This contraption captures not just ghostly beings.. but other monsters with physical bodies. Even Black Knights aren’t safe, although it takes about three attempts to defeat those with physical bodies. It can also bring other items to him.

Megaphone

Scooby uses this to send out sound waves capable of stunning enemies; be they physical monsters or non-corporeal spirits.

Jackhammer Drill

Put your construction helmet on to shake the ground! When Scooby does this, it stuns those around him as the ground violently shakes, and can also break through the ground.

Costumes

Scooby has access to a variety of different costumes, each one granting him a different set of abilities. Some of these costumes are made from mubber (no, that’s not a typo), a soy-based material that can take on almost any form and breaks down when exposed to UV light - due to this, UV light can remove Scooby’s costumes.

Kung Fu: Gives Scooby unprecedented skill in martial arts, lets him perform a powerful ground pound that creates shockwaves, and lets him project a ball of energy known as a Mega Strike. The Mega Strike can seemingly cause electronics to short circuit.

Bat: Lets Scooby glide using makeshift wings, as well as ride air currents. For some reason, he walks around on his hind legs while wearing this. Weird. Actually, he does this for every costume. What the fuck?

Robin Hood: Gives Scooby a bow, with which he can rapid fire plungers that can let him scale walls quickly. An upgraded version of the costume also allows him to fire three at once.

Scientist: Allows Scooby to dissolve obstacles made of mubber, although this requires him to complete a time-consuming minigame first for some reason.

Courage

Flashlight

Standard for paranormal hijinks that ensue, Courage has a flashlight for lighting up the area in a dark atmosphere.

Explosives

Befitting a cartoon character of his nature, Courage has various different explosives that he can utilize for maximum destructive potential, whether it be sticks of dynamite, barrels of TNT or remote-control bombs.

Binoculars

Courage has high powered Binoculars that can allow him to locate others while being over thousands of feet in the air.

Lottery Fake-Out Machine

Have a quarter? Then look no further than participating in Courage’s lottery machine! Except when you win, instead of winning money, you get a boxing glove to the face.

Kangaroo Monster Bone Fragment

An ancient bone that was found on the Bagge farm. It isn't exactly a bone for eating, however. It is instead, a bone that came from a very rare, very extinct, very huge kangaroo monster, which was, to put it simply, one of the most dangerous predators in prehistoric Courage times. More info in the forms section.

Space Suit

A suit that allows Courage to traverse the vacuum of space, as well as survive the heat of the sun (both the surface and the core) with only minor discomfort to his feet. Additionally, it has a grappling hook that he can use to latch onto faraway objects.

Heat Lamp

Courage has heat lamps that can petrify his opposition, making them immobile…however, it seems to only work on zombies.

Scuba Gear

When facing the terrors of the deep, it's always useful to have some Scooby-(ahem), Scuba Gear. The oxygen tank allows Courage to stay underwater for an extended period of time.

Gas Mask

Gotta be prepared for everything or else! Which leads us to Courage having a gas mask that can protect him from all forms of gas or smoke.

The God Bone

The God Bone is a giant mysterious bone that has a hypnotic addiction over dogs, to the point where they can’t stop licking the bone regardless of what’s happening to them. Courage, with trouble, resisted the bone’s hypnotic power, and later kept it for himself, now using it leisurely for his own enjoyment.

Happy Plums

Made by Muriel, these plums will make anyone, even the most miserable person to ever exist…well, happy! Courage has used these to turn Rat into a baby when he was super charged by pure aggressive emotions, and even made Dr. Zalost happy. Just one dip of them can turn a formula for Depression into a formula for Happiness. Oh, and they also go well with sour cream.

Instant Quick Sand

If ya ever wanna drown someone, then buy our box of instant Quick Sand! (Only for ages 3 and up). It's basically just a normal box of quick sand (If there is such a thing) that Courage carries around, and, after adding some water, he can then use it to trap enemies in quick sand and eventually drown ‘em in it.

Instant Eels

A special powder that, once poured into water, will produce an enormous green eel, which will jealously guard whatever area they have been ordered to protect, attacking anything that gets close to them. They are also lovely singers.

Yo-Yo

A regular Yo-Yo which is one of Courage's favorite toys, it has some uses in which he can pull himself out of situations with it and even used it to perform hypnosis on Muriel and Eustace.

Ray Gun

A gun taken from an evil chicken from outer space, this gun can shoot lasers that can travel around the world in seconds, and can transmute things.

Slingshot

Just your standard slingshot, despite this Courage is generally skilled at aiming his opposition down shown when he disarmed a Space Chicken.

Fan

Courage can pull out a large comical fan that blows an intense wind that sends his opponent flying backwards.

Plunger Gun

In the CGI special short, Courage utilizes a plunger gun on multiple occasions, using it to grab items from high places or grapple and pull people towards him, such as when he saved Muriel from falling.

Duck Brothers's Mind-Control Helmet

A helmet and remote controller given to Courage by the Duck Brothers. The device mind controls whoever wears it. The person with the controller to the helmet can make the victim do all kinds of things. This helmet also seems to enhance the person's strength and has worked on Courage before despite his consistent showings of mind hax resistance.

Pocket Watch

With this item, Courage can hypnotize a person and can basically command them to do what he says, it can also transmute/shed(?) people into tiny weaker animals such as a gecko, and a fish. (as seen above)

Vampire-Hunting Equipment

Eat your heart out Blade and Buffy, Courage is packing tons of vampire slaying gear that you wouldn't even imagine, consisting of an ax, a bag of garlic, a canister of holy water, a cross, wooden stakes,a solar powered light emitter, a mallet and lastly a crossbow for good measure.

The Computer

A sentient all knowing desktop who has all the answers to Courage’s problems and usually gives him items, info on what's going on, and advice on how to defeat his enemies, though it can be a little rude to him at times. It can also possess others by downloading his personality into them.

Power Ups

In the Pharaoh Phobia flash game, Courage has access to 3 different power ups and they do exactly as the name tells you. He gets invincibility which surrounds him in a red bubble making him completely immune to damage for a time, freezing which is pretty self explanatory, and extra lives (Courage can hold up to 5 of these).

Snowball Cannon

A cannon that shoots snowballs. However, it runs on limited ammo.

Warplane

A combat oriented plane used by Courage to fight Ms. Bagge, it is equipped with loads of missiles.

Pumpkin Cart

A kart Courage used to race against the other cartoon Network characters in a crossover game.

Dark Matter Meteor

A meteor filled with dark matter, this rock is the cause of all the strange things that happen in Nowhere. It can do a myriad of things like transmuting people into all sorts of weird creatures and things (a fish, a slime, an inanimate block, a pixel etc). And by spinning it, can even be used for hypnotizing people with suggestions from all sorts of long distances. When used by Courage, he’s able to fly, grow giant, make a prison, and turn everything weird back to normal. It’s also cool to use as a disco ball too!

Courage seemingly keeps the meteor in his home after the events of the crossover, so it should be fine to give as equipment.

Dr. Gerbil's Vacuum

A vacuum that Courage stole from Dr. Gebril when saving Muriel and Eustace from his weird fetish. The vacuum can suck people in and shrink them, it can also revert them back to regular size.

Giant Vacuum Thingy(?)

A giant vacuum that is strong enough to suck up large sacks of garbage, and even strong enough to suck in the Statue of Liberty, it’s also equipped with a balloon at the back to trap enemies in it.

Junk Box & Velvet Vic Record

By playing the disc, the player device can trap the unlikely soul into the disc itself; showcased in Courage’s run in with the spirit of Velvet Vic. It's even been shown to trap people of the living world, like when Muriel was seen sealed away inside earlier.

Shirley's Box

A Demonic box containing a pocket dimension inside of it. Anyone who is near the box will be sealed into it, with no way out unless whoever is outside of it opens the box with a key. Courage kept Eustace trapped in it while hiding the key in his mouth.

Cupid Plunger Arrow

An arrow borrowed from a cupid, this plunger can make people fall in love.

Ball of Glitter

Just some ball of glitter that Courage has in which he used to induce sleep on Muriel by throwing it at her.

Abilities

Scooby

Anunnaki Physiology

The Anunnaki are interdimensional beings from the planet Nibiru, who Scooby is a descendant of. These beings don't have any physical form, so they have to take an animal body, which makes the animals have a lifespan of around a human’s.

Why can't real dogs live this log?

Enhanced Sense of Smell

As a dog, Scooby has a much stronger sense of smell than a human. It’s most often used when he and the gang are looking for clues or tracking someone, and is precise enough to know if food or a potential clue is nearby the moment he enters a room.

Scooby's Appetite

Scooby’s appetite is nothing to really scoff at. He’s always hungry and ready for a good bite to eat, whether it be Scooby Snacks or gouging down with Shaggy on some delicious delicacies. He’s able to eat fast enough to finish food in seconds, from months to even years worth of food; such as, say, a GRAND CANYONS WORTH OF JELLO. He can even chow down on food that’s larger than him, and can use that food to fatten himself up to mow down whoever gets in his way. He can even straight up inhale them like the OG Kirby. No matter what, Scooby’s always got an appetite for whatever his next meal he eats his way through next.

Vehicular Mastery

Despite being a dog, Scooby has showcased unnatural skill in piloting vehicles, such as learning to fly a plane seconds after getting in one, doing the same with a U.F.O while having to dodge electrical wires, and in multiple cases, even the Mystery Machine. Which isn't that surprising, seeing as he has a drivers license.

Dupes

One of Scooby's greatest weapons is his quick improvisation skills. Many times when setting up to capture (or simply just trying to escape) the monster of the episode, Scooby will utilize mind games and trickery alongside disguises to fool them into believing what he wants, disorienting them and at times outright influencing their actions to give up. To especially unlucky monsters Scooby may also use this opportunity to employ some slapstick to them. Oftentimes he does these dupes alongside Shaggy but is more than capable of duping a monster on his lonesome to surprising effectiveness. Makes you wonder how some of these guys would've gotten away with it, even if those meddling kids weren't there.

Special Editorial

Yep Scooby has his own cutaway gags. The special editorial from Scooby-Doo news pops in randomly when the gang is in danger and puts everything on halt. Even the main danger joined in to work on the news show too, as if it was normal.

The Power of Suggestion

After being scared too many times, Flim Flam decided to give Scooby the power of suggestion, thanks to this once Flim Flam or Scooby himself snaps their finger, anything Scooby finds scary, he will find very funny and will laugh at danger. He also becomes very calm and cool in the face of danger, so calm in fact that he can fly and float around.

Flight/Hovering

Name a cartoon character, and odds are, some time, somewhere, they fly or hover without explanation. Scooby is no exception. He can slow his descent after eating a Scooby Snack and hover just above the ground, and after using the power of suggestion, he can simply float around as shown in the GIF above.

Non Physical Interaction

Pretty straight forward…Scooby has shown he can cut through fog as both a puppy and a grown dog. He's also shown he can interact with an actual ghost, and his sneeze can blow an entire ghost’s body away. Scooby is also shown to be able to interact with all the 13 ghosts. In the games Scooby has even shown to be able to throw hands… or, paws, with all kinds of ghosts.

4th Wall Breaking/Awareness

A toon before the year 2K obviously possesses 4th wall breaking abilities and complete awareness, with Scoob being completely aware and can interact with the writers to correct them with his pal Shaggy. Not just as a pup, but he can break the 4th wall even as a full grown dog. Scooby is aware of the instrumental music options and the gang straight up says “we can’t start a chase without the music!” Either Scooby starts the bangers or opens a door for the talented folks to play. Scoobert has also, once, broke the 4th wall… literally. (12:30)

Hammerspace

Another befitting capability for his toony nature; Scooby can pull any object he needs out of nowhere. Some of the objects Scooby has pulled out are his Commander Cool and Mellow Mutt weapons (or any of his weapons generally speaking). Scooby can pull out supplies to make homemade Scooby Snacks, a fan with enough wind pressure to send Daphne and a man in a monster disguise flying all the way to the sky, or a vehicle for a quick and convenient getaway. Any weapons or average items like a gas mask, food, etc, are all on the table, and no matter what, Scooby can pull them out.

Regeneration

One of the weirder abilities for our boy, Scooby has shown the ability to pull himself back together from basically anything and everything. Like getting crushed into a suitcase, being shattered into pieces while stuck in ice, and on another occasion, coming back from pieces while he was a pup. Not only pieces, Scooby has shown the capabilities to convert his entire body into a puddle state after melting himself, have his entire skeleton exit his body and run away, and even regenerate his entire body being comically turned into a pile of dust out of fear. His most impressive regeneration feat is him exploding into nothingness then returning to the gang. All of these feats have Scooby coming back IMMEDIATELY.

Shapeshifting

Another toony ability Scooby-Doo has access to is shapeshifting. Scooby has used these powers to describe “monsters” he finds to show the gang. Not only is it a way to show a description of said “monster”, but of course out of fear. He has shapeshifted into a variety of things, like a map, a rocket, turned his eyes into binoculars, and shapeshifted into a chicken.

Body Control

You wouldn't expect it, but Scooby has done some insane things with that body of his. He has popped back to normal after being stretched and flattened, and can inflate himself like a balloon. He is capable of splitting himself apart at will and then putting himself back together. His body is so malleable that it can be flattened, turned into a ball and then bounced around as a pinball machine and can just pop back fine. Scooby has forcefully melted and popped back fine again, and had the top of his head open up on several occasions in fear.

Scooby once ran so fast his legs separated from his body then ran back to him; weirdly consistent, as he had his head removed through speed alone and went back to reattach it. As shown, Scooby can manipulate his body like his tail, claws, head, and nose to do whatever he wants, and he can remove/reattach whenever appendages he wants, and this applies to all of his body parts. Scooby has elasticity by his side, and can extend his neck as well. Scoob can remove any weight he gains through releasing air like a balloon, Scooby has twisted his neck multiple times, and finally Scooby uses this to hide in small places.

Time Manipulation

Out of fear… again, Scooby has shown he has the ability to reverse not only his own actions, but other’s actions as well. He’s reversed time not only as a pup, but also as a full grown dog to both stop himself and reverse his actions. After eating some nanite speed Scooby snacks, he's capable of moving so fast he travels backwards through time.

Duplication

Out of fear Scooby can duplicate, and just like his opponent, Scooby has shown he can duplicate his head during a pup named Scooby doo, have his head open up revealing several Scoobs on a smaller scale, duplicate his eyes multiple times at once, and his eye can even pop out a small Scoob. It is worth mentioning Scooby can duplicate with nanite scooby snacks as well.

Size Manipulation

Scooby, when he is scared, can shrink down to microscopic sizes, and turn back to normal later. He's also shown he can grow other parts of his body bigger, and his size can be increased or decreased via nanite Scooby Snacks.

Attack Reflection

Scooby should be comparable in regard to the Toonforce of the gang, as he is the comedy relief character. In Scooby’s world, like every other zany cartoon universe, one can reflect ice beams with a fan, with a reflect a beam powerful enough to reduce an entire vehicle and person into ashes with a plate, and it all totally makes sense that Scooby’s tag can reflect sunlight as well.

Immersion

Trapped in a corner? Well, the best way to escape the monsters is by going through paintings by pulling a Blue's Clues, OBVIOUSLY. Scooby and the gang have shown they can enter and leave regular paintings, even being capable of making the paintings interact with real life as shown in the gif above. This is very consistent, as Scooby, Shaggy and Scrappy, used a painting to go to the Eifell tower. This is not limited to just simple paintings either, as the people in Scooby’s world have gone into television themselves, and Scooby himself has as well. In addition, he has gone in and out of an arcade machine, but even if there isn't any painting in his area, Scoobert can simply paint one himself to leave his enemies behind.

Fire Abilities

Like several cartoons across the ages, Scooby has shown the inexplicable ability to just…breathe fire. Whether it be for a joke or him JUST DOING IT LIKE UP THERE, he has belched flames from eating spicy food, Even as a pup Scooby can do this, another fire related ability is to forcefully engulf his ears on fire.

Surface Scaling

Usually shown when Scooby is running away from the monster of the week, he’s regularly able to scale sheer surfaces through unknown means, such as running directly up the side of a tree without issue. Scooby has run on walls sideways and upside down!

Teleportation

In some of the many chase sequences Scooby finds himself in, he will often teleport from one hiding spot to another to prolong the chase and wear down his pursuer, letting him make an even more effective getaway. For the most part this seems to be short ranged in nature as he mostly uses it to get to other objects in a room, or to other rooms in his numerous hall of door chases. However he was also capable of teleporting out of the Box of Demons, a box that was made to seal creatures in. He's also weirdly shown to be capable of teleporting other things… cuz sure.

Astral Projection

Out of fear Scooby’s soul can exit his own physical body. This shockingly doesn’t leave Scooby in a immobile state, and his physical body can still make actions despite losing his own soul…somehow. TLDR, Scooby doesn't need his soul inside his body to think/function.

Resistances

Mind Control/Hypnosis: Scooby has shown several instances of resisting hypnosis or mind control, usually due to not having enough of a mind to be controlled. He has even resisted being hypnotized by a guy who was capable of controlling an entire cruise ship. In one instance, Scooby was able to not only resist hypnosis, but reverse it, and control the villain who was using it via a mirror.

Fear Manipulation: Scooby has been able to resist and ignore a villain's Fear Generation inside him, primarily due to him "always being scared".

Limited Resistance to Life Force Absorption: Scooby can survive his own life force being leeched, and has done so on a few other occasions as well

Limited Soul Manipulation Resistance: Scooby can also survive his soul being removed from his body, as shown by his casually doing so earlier.

Ice Manipulation: Has shown to be able to break free from being frozen solid, even while in pieces.

Electricity Manipulation: He has been fine after being electrocuted…like, several times.

Sound Manipulation: Scooby can withstand a Sonic pulse generated attack, which can shatter glass in an instant.

Transmutation: In the crossover movie, he was unaffected by the dark matter meteor's effects, and he's also completely and utterly fine after being turned into a newspaper.

Sealing and Power Nullification: Scooby was able to teleport out from the chest of Demons, a chest that completely seals you away and nullifies your powers, trapping you there forever.

Courage

Non-Physical Interaction

Courage is certainly packed with surprises all things considered! This dog is capable of knitting up the ozone layer, holding a star in his hand, interacting with formerly deceased spirits, and even parrying attacks from them in his encounter with the Vandals.

Teleportation

Much like his opponent. Courage is also able to perform the door teleporting gag. He showcases this same ability in the episode "Cajun Granny Stew".

Immortality

Courage is shown to operate as simply a skeleton and can function without his head and organs. He can survive while being turned inside out, and endure injuries that would kill any mere human.

Regeneration

One of the most consistent abilities Courage has shown throughout the show is his absurd levels of regeneration compared to most cartoon powerhouses in history. He can come back from ripping himself in half, deflating like a balloon, his eyes falling out and his head blowing up, being shattered into pieces, dissolving into mere water bubbles, being reduced to vapor, and even being exploded and reduced to nothingness during one of his shapeshifts.

Astral Projection

Through meditating, Courage is able to project his astral self and enter dreams. However, it does not seem like an ability Courage would ultimately use in combat, as he has only done it to save Muriel from having a bad dream.

Screaming

Arguably Courage's most iconic ability, and the one most synonymous with his character, is the Super Scream. Used by Courage as a last resort move on plenty of occasions, it has unique properties such as shattering objects like the sun into glass, and disorienting/stunning his opponents.

Shapeshifting

Shapeshifting is definitely a specialty for the likes of Courage. He can change his body into a UFO, robots, monsters, other humans, and even ghastly beings. Make no mistake, he has used this incredibly effectively, as shown when he became a spiked bat to smash apart his opposition and even turn into a soda drink to short-circuit the hard drive's electronic devices.

Duplication

During one of Courage’s many shapeshifts, he is shown being able to duplicate himself 2 individual clones. He also once duplicated his head over a dozen times briefly.

Dog Call

By howling, Courage can call upon the help of the fellow canines of Nowhere to help him, seen when he gathered an army to fight a horde of tree monsters, all of whom were able to hold their own.

Body Control

Surprise! Surprise! Courage also has some insane control of his body like his combatant in this fight. Courage can stretch his torso to avoid incoming cannonballs [See above] and extend his tongue a great distance, even using it to operate tools like switches. Courage can also fix himself after being flattened and/or stretched, removing his eyes and brows, removing his teeth, and can in addition repair himself after being squashed into a cube like shape. His Ears can act like an antenna that can stretch its length and track other individuals with his enhanced hearing. Courage can even remove his head and attach it to someone's body taking control of them. He’s also been able to use his teeth to chomp through a wooden door like he was a buzzsaw.

Birth

Can consistently lay golden eggs……yeah. Just don't ask.

Enhanced Smell

Being a dog, Courage has a heightened sense of smell, being able to track things and people via their scent. He can even identify the elements within something just by its odor.

Immersion

Courage has the ability to enter paintings, digital worlds, and even travel through phone lines to pop out of telephones.

 Invisibility/Intangibility

Courage can turn himself invisible at will, and presumably intangible as well, seeing as his hat and backpack fall to the floor off of his body.

Hammerspace

Like most Toony characters, Hammerspace appears! Courage can store and pull out items from an imaginary storage space at any given time, and pull a variety of wacky objects. This ranges from an anchor, to a Whale, and…really the list just spirals on from there.

4th Wall Awareness

Courage can interact with the 4th wall, usually to tell the audience that Dog abuse should not happen, and even bid them farewell in his crossover with Scooby-Doo.

Exorcism/Soul Interaction

Through wearing specific clothes, Courage can perform a ritual by dancing which removes a demon mattress' soul from Muriel's body [see above]. Courage is even shown trapping McPhearson Phantom's spirit into an inkblot test.

Subjective Reality

With just his imagination, Courage is able to bring objects into existence like a lightbulb [see above]. With the magic tree he can also wish for certain objects with a mere thought.

Banishment Spell

Courage has access to a banishment spell which can well you know, seal foes.

Attack Reflection

Courage can redirect attacks by breathing it in and out as seen above. He also redirected the Evil Empress of China's glare with a mirror.

Mondo Magic

Was given magic from Mondo, an evil alien. Said magic can do the following:

BFR: Banish Eustace into his own TV.

Summoning: Can summon animals.

Biological Manipulation: Can turn people hideous.

Transmutation: Transmutate people into different things.

Resistances

Extreme Heat/Radiation: Withstood the heat of the sun and can walk on lava just fine.

Mind Manipulation: Resisted the urge to lick the God Bone, which makes regular dogs lick it nonstop. Additionally, he was able to fight back the temptations of the King of Flan’s Flan-tasy Flan, which made the average person crave it uncontrollably.

Age Manipulation: Courage and the Bagge's were unaffected by the Earth being sent 1000 years into the future, only being queasy afterwards.

Ice Manipulation: Courage can free himself from being frozen solid, create a lightbulb to thaw out the ice, and his tongue has melted ice before.

Transmutation: While he has been transmuted before, he more constantly turns his own body into different creatures and objects so it's likely he can come back from transmutation that doesn't bypass his counter.

Invisibility(?): Courage is stated to be immune to a magic crystal that turns people invisible (this applies to dogs in general), and dog food also reverses the invisibility effect.

Disease: Immune to the effects of a disease that is affecting Muriel, Eustace, Lazlo, and Jay

Extreme Cold: Able to survive in Antarctica and in space.

Forms

Scooby

Goblin Scooby

With the power of the Goblin Scepter, Scooby can transform into this Goblin form which has wings that can fly. However, with the Goblin Scepter, he’s able to use its powers, which can control the magic of Halloween and even destroy the balance of the Supernatural order of the world. With it, he’s been able to do stuff like shooting energy blasts, casting lightning, transmuting people and vehicles into all sorts of monsters and animals and even turning them back to normal, creating portals, and even erasing memories. Unfortunately, he didn’t get to keep the form very long, since as soon as he gave the Goblin Scepter back to the Goblin King, he lost his ability to turn into his Goblin form and use the Scepter’s powers.

Yellow Lantern Scooby

Scooby and Shaggy once used a Yellow Lantern Ring taken from Sinestro, as their fear was greater than his own power to generate fear. Shaggy uses the ring to grow the previously shrunken Justice League back to normal height, and then makes a construct of a picture between the Mystery Gang and Justice League as the story ends.

They probably gave it back to the heroes afterwards but it’s never shown on screen sooooooooooo herald Scooby bros?

Dr. Fate Scooby

Ruh Roh Courage Bros

Spectre Scooby

Roh no Courage Bros

Courage

Kangaroo Courage

In order to save Muriel from a rampaging kangaroo-monster-turned-Eustace, Courage had a piece of the monster’s bone inserted into his back, allowing him to transform into a kangaroo monster as well. In this form, Courage was shown capable of ripping the Louvre Pyramid off of the ground, and even carried a giant slingshot… with croissants as ammunition.

Scooby

Nanite Mutants

In the world of "Scooby Doo Apocalypse", the world became a post-apocalyptic nightmare where infected civilians became mutants thanks to a nanite virus created by the Dinkleys. Velma, to fix her mistake, teams up with her coworker/fiance Shaggy Rogers and his dog Scooby Doo, as well as her new companions Daphne Blake and Fred Jones to battle off the hordes of mutants and undo the virus. As Scooby has killed several mutants and scrapped with Scrappy doo who can do the same; Scooby should ultimately scale to them.

(0.0116 Tons of TNT)

Mystery Inc. Gang

“Jinkies, jeepers, zoinks, ruh roh, shit why don’t I have a catchphrase yet

The Mystery Gang regularly handle the same spooky abnormalities or fraud in a mask threats as one another; with Shaggy and Scooby being the ones to get into physical confrontation to save the Gang from harm's way, so it should be fair to say Scooby scales to them.

The WWE

“THEN. NOW. FOREVER.”

As said in the beginning crossovers are a notable part of the Scooby Doo franchise, so it’d be no shocker they crossed over with the WWE. The events of the crossover are canon for both. In a funny case it happened twice for both (Scooby in WWE-1 and 2). This crossover starts with Scooby Doo and Shaggy winning an all-expenses-paid stay at WWE City to watch WrestleMania after beating the hardest level of the organization's latest video game. They end up meeting and being saved by the 16 time WWE champion John Cena, from that point they go through a wrestling journey.

Courage

Eustace Bagge

"STUPID DOG! YOU MAKE ME LOOK BAD!"

Eustace is the husband of Muriel and serves as a primary antagonistic force throughout the series to Courage on a handful of occasions. Courage on multiple fronts, fought his rogues gallery of villains who often made the old man into a punching bag and even Courage himself has injured Eustace with just a slipper, so more than likely he should scale to him overall.

  • Survived a rocket explosion that turned him into a constellation of 61 stars

(0.34 FOE)

The Shadow

The shadow is well a shadow of a dead rich old dude. After being freed from his torment, the shadow frequently harassed those who live in the Middle Of Nowhere. While Courage never directly fought the shadow, Eustace has and obviously Courage scales to Eustace.

Starmakers (Debatable)

(Art by Zanthia Khala)

The Starmarkers are alien squid creatures that wander across the universe, producing the stars in the heavens. While a bit dubious to scale, Courage did manage to break military equipment meant to hold them captive and he has harmed Eustace who endured attacks from Robot Randy, the supposedly strongest being in the universe, so Courage could be argued to scale to them.

  • One of the Starmarkers can hold back the Space Whale with its tentacles who can do the following:

    • Created a vacuum that moved the moon (1.617 ronnatons of TNT)

    • Moved other large gas planets like Saturn,Jupiter and so on while presumably in a different star system (230 million c)

  • Created multiple stars upon meeting Muriel and Courage

  • Muriel claims the Starmaker is responsible for the stars in the night sky

  • Several of their offspring can create constellations

Weaknesses

Scooby

Scooby-Doo has accomplished a lot of incredible things in the over fifty years his franchise has been running, and has more than proven himself despite all odds time and time again, but just as every dog has its day, some of those days prove more rough (or ruff, rather) than others. Scooby isn't without his baggage, first and most blatant is he is a notoriously cowardly dog, much like his opponent. The first mention of danger is quick to get Scooby to worry and panic, and oftentimes fake injuries or sickness or do whatever he can to avoid such a situation, and more often than not requiring the motivation of Scooby Snacks to get him to step up.

While there are times he's willing to face his fear head on and will usually put his fright aside for the sake of his loved ones, he's just as likely to be found hiding under a rug or shivering in the arms of Shaggy than being the (usually reluctant) one to face the bad guys head on. And when he is made to deal with villains he usually prefers to do so by tricking them or luring them into a trap, and having the assistance of the rest of his friends, rather than facing them head on, though there are the occasional exceptions.

Scooby-Doo's other most blatant point against him is his intelligence. While one might not call him a stupid dog, he is frequently shown being very naive and clumsy. Several times when the gang sets up a trap to capture the villain of the episode there's just as much a chance circumstances end up with Scooby inadvertently being the victim of the trap, due to this klutzy nature of his. While he has his bits of ingenuity and good on-the-spot thinking, he can be really easily distracted and on occasion slow on the uptake. He also tends to not have the greatest of luck, oftentimes having to be the first or most frequent one to put up with a monster the gang is dealing with, in spite of him wanting anything but that and is a frequent host of the various series slapstick.

Courage

I mean… it’s in the name. Courage is cowardice incarnate, and as long as Muriel isn’t in trouble, he’s quick to take that “fuck this shit I’m out” mentality whenever something spooks him. And despite how impressive he seems, it’s not hard to physically overpower him whenever fear takes control. His thinking and speaking ultimately falls apart when he's in a panic, making him more prone to running away from the threat rather than directly confronting it.

Before the Verdicts

Scooby Doo Cosmology

(Yes really)

As shown in Mystery Incorporated, the Scooby-Doo universe has multiple different dimensions, such as the Dimensions of Earth, Air, Water and Fire. Velma even mentioned that there is not only the 4th dimension of time, but also others beyond it, even making explicit mention of string theory, and that the Scooby Doo Universe abides by it, which could imply a cosmology of up to 11 Spatial dimensions.

There’s also The Sitting Room, which exists between time, space and other dimensions. The person in The Sitting Room has access to a book that stated extra dimensional force around the supernatural curses. Velma also refers to the Evil Entity as an “Extra Dimensional Intelligence”.

Aside from Mystery Incorporated, the two 5-Dimensional Imps; Bat-Mite and Scooby-Mite, revealed that the Scooby gang exist in an infinite multiverse of parallel dimensions, including all of the other Scooby-Doo shows (even though that's kind of contradictory to source material…unless it means the gang evolve through separate realities as time goes on). This includes a "dimension" where they are fictional characters [going as far as to have the writers of the very comic chastised for something] and multiple Spatial Dimensions, like the 5th Dimension; the Imps’ home, and where Trigon's brother just goes to on a whim.

Scooby

Stats

Statistically, it's perhaps a surprise to many that Scooby can keep up with and surpass Courage, but Scooby will have no trouble doing so. Courage has a yottaton feat himself and scales to others with similar levels of power, along with shenanigans involving stars and entire constellations. He's also dodged lasers, and been able to compete with characters several hundred million times faster than the speed of light. Scooby, comparatively, may not seem all that impressive, but he has multiple feats that simply go beyond what Courage can compete with. Primarily, he has achieved or scales to several feats on a universal scale, in both raw power and durability. He defeated foes with "all the power in the universe", endured the spatial dimension of time exploding, as well as the Evil Entity's destruction, both of which were universal at the very least, and danced fast enough to literally light up the entire universe, plus destroy the globe surrounding it. Not to mention his scaling to the superstars of WWE, and the star to universal feats they have going on.

To put it into perspective, even a number as high as the supernova value of a thousand stars, or 1000 Foe, would still be several dozen digits below universal levels of power. Scooby would scale to these not just from crossovers, but from media inside the Scooby verse as a whole that doesn't involve other fictional properties. As such, Scooby is FAR too strong and durable for Courage to ever overwhelm in a battle.

While his main showing of Uni AP, the dance, is sometimes called into question for its lack of immediate consequences, several things back it up in our minds. Many feats in fiction that would realistically cause environmental damage simply don't, and this is no exception albeit on a much larger scale; just to play it safe, you can even interpret it as JUST shattering the glass and nothing else, which is actually significantly more impressive than destroying the universe anyways as it's destruction was 22.164 quintillion times higher than the mass energy of the universe. We see no real difference between saying Scooby specifically affected the glass and saying Courage specifically affected the sun (that scream didn't damage anything else either). Even the lowest of low ends, just using the luminosity and dividing it by 3, still dwarfs anything Courage is capable of, with any potential counters being a product of the cartoon and being equally applicable to Courage. “But wait, wasn’t this done via a specific technique? Would Scooby be able to do this in a fight?” Well, firstly, the complexity of “a specific technique” is a bit overexaggerated, it’s simply just spinning really fast, something Scooby could certainly do. Even doubting this, there’s still the simple fact that regardless of how it was done initially, it would still require energy output on that level.

Speed is just as absurd. Both have laser dodging feats, and scaling to ship feats of flying across Galaxies. The lowest value for Scooby (840.9 Million X FTL) and the highest for Courage (230 Million X FTL) have Scooby at nearly four times faster, let alone the 5.7 Billion X FTL feat from the other Aliens he fought, or his lighting up the entire universe in seconds. These would lend him a 24.7…to 317 MILLION times speed advantage, and really, this is barring his boost from a few Super-Speed Scooby Snacks, which made him fast enough to travel through time at speeds we can not begin to calculate.

The results paint a clear picture that Scooby is overwhelmingly more powerful and fast enough to blitz no matter what end you use, and the two combined means he is simply beyond Courage's ability to keep up with him in any meaningful way.

Arsenal & Abilities

These two scaredy dogs have A LOT to them to keep away all the spooks and crooks over the years, to the simple to just the strange and bizarre, but ultimately Scooby has more going for him in this field. First I’ll go over their Arsenals and how Scooby has way more, as well as counters to most of Courage’s stuff. A big issue with Courage’s arsenal is that while he has some good stuff, a lot of them are either way too specific and situational, and that they’re stuff Scooby has already faced before. Explosives, Ray Guns, Slingshots, Fans, a Plunger Gun, especially Traps and Weapons, and a good deal more, are all stuff Scooby has faced many times before.

Scooby meanwhile has a lot more methods to keep pressuring Courage with how much he has, such as: Nanite Scooby Snacks having a whole lot of versatile powers, The Sword Of Fate and his Samurai getup making him a very skilled Swordsman, or SwordsDog if you would, The Wonder Wand Of Zagraz transmuting and reflecting all sorts of attacks, the Tome Of Doom summoning a myriad of monsters, and so, SO many disguises with their own benefits that give Scooby the lead. Now what about Courage’s more out there arsenal, shouldn’t all that stuff mean he has the chance to beat Scooby? Not necessarily. Scooby has a lot of counters to them before, and here’s why: Mind Control Helmet/Hypnosis items controlling Scooby? Scooby has resisted Mind Control several times before from a lot of Hypnotist villains, and even if he were to be put into the Helmet’s control, his Nose and Tail have minds of their own to free Scooby in a jiffy.

Dr. Gerbil’s Vacuum being able to Shrink people? Scooby can change his size with Nanite Scooby Snacks so that’s out. Happy Plums turning Scooby into a Baby? Wouldn’t work at all. The one time Courage was able to turn someone into a Baby was with Rat, and that was when Rat was supercharged with negative emotions, plus the Plums only affect those feeling negative emotions at the time, something Scooby sure won’t be feeling in a fight, at least for this one. Junk Box and Velvet Vic Record/Shirley’s Box sealing Scooby’s soul away? Scooby’s been able to completely be fine having his own soul removed from his body, and he even has the Crystal Ball to teleport him to all sorts of places if he were to get potentially sealed away, and potentially even sealing won’t even work to begin with since Scooby has been able to teleport out of the Chest Of Demons, which can seal away you and your powers. Dark Matter Meteor transmuting Scooby? I mean, in the actual crossover movie itself he’s been able to survive its transmuting effects, plus Scooby Snacks could just turn him back to normal if he were to get hit by it. One last thing for the Arsenal part is the big one, the God Bone. Generally considered one of Courage’s most potent wincons, couldn’t Courage use it to make Scooby lick it until he dies? Well, Scooby actually has a couple ways to resist it's tempting effects:

Scooby has resisted mindhax with tempting effects multiple times, meaning he could likely resist the tempting effects of the God Bone. It’s also been shown that if the Dog has a strong enough love for their owner, they can resist the effects of the God Bone to a degree by focusing on their owner. Scooby certainly holds a humongous amount of love for his owner, and best friend, Shaggy, so he could likely resist the effects of the God Bone himself as well.

Now for Abilities. Courage has his really good showings for sure, but Scooby just has way more in this regard. Courage has some decent stuff like shapeshifting, duplication, immersion, invisibility, hammerspace, some 4th wall breaking, soul removing, attack reflection, magic, and a whole lot more. But a lot of them, while good, Scooby has dealt with or just straight used before. A Pup Named Scooby-Doo in particular gives Scooby a lot more toon force related abilities, and a lot of them are stuff Courage has, as well as showings of using them better in those regards. shapeshifting, duplication, immersion, invisibility, hammerspace, some 4th wall breaking, soul removing, attack reflection, magic, all stuff Scooby has been able to deal with, or just has shown better regards in those abilities compared to Courage. As well as stuff Courage just can’t really handle, such as duping him with his many disguises, the Power of Suggestion making it so he’s IMMUNE TO FEAR, as well as his astral projection being able to help him out, along with being able to resist Courage trying to seal his soul away.

One big thing I wanna bring up, similar to the God Bone, is a big notable thing Courage has going for him, that being his regeneration. It’s without a doubt the biggest thing that’s saving Courage, since his regen is definitely busted in a good deal of areas. He’s been ripped, shattered, crushed, blown up, vaporized, reduced to a skeleton, overall surviving things that would normally kill someone, yet he’s fine in just a couple of moments. So how’s Scooby able to deal with that?

A good number of methods actually. Aside from the large stat gap, there’s also sealing Courage away with the Tome Of Doom whenever Courage becomes anything supernatural, whether it be a ghost, a skeleton or whatever he even shapeshifts into or the spooky buster, which would be just capable of sucking Courage in just even in his regular doggy form, transmuting him with his many transmutation items, as well as the fact that Scooby has somewhat comparable Regen too, being able to come back from getting shattered to tiny pieces, turned into goo and even into nothingness. So that’s already a detriment for Courage’s Abilities since while he has good stuff, Scooby’s own stuff is just better. Even if Courage could actually land any of his meaningful powers, Scooby could simply rewind time and not only escape from them, but gain prior knowledge on his future moves and tricks.

So between having way more of an Arsenal and way more Abilities that match, counter, and even surpasses Courage’s own list, the Abilities/Arsenal list goes to Scooby-Dooby-Doo!

Tertiary Factors

In terms of experience, it’s no secret that Scooby has been in dangerous situations for way longer, even as a puppy. While his threats aren’t “real” a lot of the time, that’s not to say they never were, nor is it fair to say it’s not frequent to some capacity. Comparatively, we don’t know the extent of length when it comes to Courage putting up with everyone’s shit, but I don’t think he spent his diaper days chilling with the would-be Batman, nor would he go on to do more mysteries with him to the point where we lost count. Oh yeah, speaking of which-

Scooby’s pretty smart as far as dogs go, and while he’s not the first to solve a mystery, he can keep up with his fellow gangmates and again, fucking Batman. Made even more notable when the world’s greatest detective has the Mystery Gang as his go to when even he’s stumped. Add Scooby’s own ruses, tricks and whatnot and suddenly you have a pretty noteworthy edge. Courage is smart and prepared, but still gullible and relatively easy to fool, something Scooby can and will take full advantage of.

Conclusion

"Tank, empath, brain, Huh. I finally figured out what you guys are. You’re the heart of Mystery Inc."

Advantages:

  • Significantly takes the Stat Trinity with most ends

  • More experienced and skilled

  • God Bone likely won’t work on Scooby

  • Relative regeneration potency

  • Way more potent and useful plethora of Arsenal/Abilities

  • Has several ways of sealing Courage…

  • …and can escape from any of Courage’s sealing

  • Has the numbers advantage with all his summons

  • Can continue living without his spirit should Courage exorcize it from his body

  • Counters a lot of Courage’s Arsenal/Abilities

  • His banger music

  • Is packing heat

Disadvantages:

  • Not as strategic as his opposition

  • The existence of the Velma show (good thing he's not in it)

  • #starving

As stated previously, it might be a bit hard to imagine Courage being beat out in stats for some, but Scooby’s showings prove that he can easily match the Cowardly Dog’s raw power and even surpass it by a significant margin. His consistent showings of Universal attack potency more than outshine his opposition’s feats, meaning he could reasonably work around Courage's insane regeneration as it would be simply too much for him to handle. Even if that were not enough, not only does Scooby have solid counters to a majority of Courage’s equipment and abilities, but has his own ways of putting his opponent down for good, such as the Tome of Doom or the Chest of Demons. In the end, while Courage will certainly be a tough cookie to crack, Scooby’s superior strength, speed and cartoony abilities will help him do what he Scooby-Dooby-Does best and send this panicky pet packing straight outta nowhere.

Courage

Stats

To put it simply, Courage is outclassed in terms of pure AP and durability. While Courage has shattered the sun, and can scale to Eustace becoming a constellation, which are impressive feats ranging in the star to solar system range, it simply pales in comparison to Scooby helping shatter the globe surrounding the universe, which puts Scooby at the absurd level of quintillions of times universal. Scooby’s durability would be well beyond anything Courage could feasibly hurt him with as well, considering he survived the Evil Entity’s demise, which destroyed an entire timeline, launching him into a new one, or the time he survived the entire temporal dimension of time fucking exploding on him.

In terms of pure AP and dura, Scooby has Courage beat. However, there is a bit of a catch to both Scooby's and Courage's best AP feats; that they only affected a specific celestial object (the globe containing the universe and the sun respectively) while everything and everyone else around them remained unaffected. With a discrepancy this massive, it raises the question of whether the Zobrinsky Triangle dance and Courage's screams would logically do any damage to their opponent at all. It might be a bit silly to apply any semblance of logic to cartoon gag feats, but when comparing the two scenarios, the method by which Courage achieved his most impressive feat is simply leagues more practical than Scooby's. Not only are there multiple other instances of Courage and other characters achieving star level feats, his screams have also been shown to damage his surroundings and even harm others, including himself, on more than a few occasions. By contrast, the Zobrinsky Triangle dance has several drawbacks that keep it from being viable in a combat encounter.

  • Although Scooby could hypothetically clone himself in order to perform it, he'd still require a good bit of time to pull it off.

  • There is nothing to indicate it would harm Courage at all, in large part because it was only ever utilized once.

  • Even if he did pull it off, it would leave him open to attack.

So while Scooby and his fellow dancers shattering a universe containing a globe is certainly more impressive than Courage shattering the sun, there is nothing to indicate that recreating the Zobrinsky Triangle dance would help Scooby in this fight, especially compared to Courage's screams. The next most powerful feat that Scooby would scale to is the Black Samurai shaking the planet, which at minimum requires him to be attacking with a force equivalent to 532.936 Gigatons of TNT, something that’s dwarfed by the 136 quettatons required for Courage to shatter the sun as he did. So in terms of how much AP the two would reasonably be able to dish out in a proper fight, Courage ends up having a sizable advantage.

We’d also like to take a quick moment to address Anunnaki Scooby, because it’s become a rather huge sticking point. To be frank, Scooby having some higher dimensional, extremely powerful Anunnaki True Form is something that’s legitimately never shown nor implied at any point in the series. Yes, Scooby is a descendant of the Anunnaki, but who knows by how many generations, and who knows how diluted that lineage may be. We have no idea if a true Anunnaki Form is something that all people who are descendants of the Anunnaki have, and it’s also likely Scooby would have no damn clue how to even enter such a form, since he’s never shown capable of doing so. This is largely a very fringe hypothetical without much backing for it, and likely, it doesn’t even hold much importance in this debate at all.

However, speed is a rather different debate. Using their lower ends, both have good relativistic feats in similar ranges, with Courage just barely edging out at 0.8c compared to 0.79c. While there is the Flash feat, it’s not something we’re putting too much stock in, given that Scooby never actually reacts to the Flash nor perceives anything while moving at those speeds. Scoob’s higher feats have similar issues as well - While piloting a spaceship is impressive, Scooby is very visibly not reacting to anything that happens, moreso randomly slapping buttons in a panic and hoping for the best (it’d be hard to argue that he’s reacting to anything happening outside the spaceship, given that he’s not even looking outside and is just looking down at the terminal the entire time). Scaling to aliens that can fly a spaceship across the galaxy has similar issues; There’s not much to indicate that the aliens are reacting to anything while flying, and in fact, they later leave the control panel behind entirely to go chase after Scooby and the spaceship continues moving just fine, making it highly unlikely that they were even “piloting” anything to begin with.

The Zobrinsky Triangle feat is more viable, but comes with the notable caveat that Scooby’s physical movement speed and reactions have no reason to scale, nevermind the fact that he may require external help from two other dancers in order to pull it off to begin with. However, while Scooby’s higher speed feats don’t quite hold up to scrutiny, Courage pedaling past the sun and dodging gravity beams are comparatively very solid, making for a huge speed gap that Scoob simply doesn’t have the means to bypass. A fraction of the speed of light compared to hundreds, thousands, or if we scale Courage to the starmakers, millions of times faster than light is not an ideal position to be in. While there is the Super Speed Scooby Snack to help him reach possibly immeasurable speeds, it’s specifically a byproduct of FTL travel, something which we know Courage can exceed quite easily. In short, while Scooby certainly isn’t lacking in good speed feats, he simply comes up short when compared to Courage. Still, given the gap in raw power and durability, what can Courage actually do with that speed? That brings us to…

Arsenal & Abilities

In terms of abilities, and arsenal these two are very hard to put down. Both have equally good regeneration, both can resist mind hax pretty good, and both have good hammerspace, so the two can go back and forth a lot. But what gives Courage a pretty major edge is that he can resist nearly all of Scooby’s good abilities, making a lot of his arsenal null.

A major piece of equipment to cover would be the Tome of Doom. It requires a supernatural being to work, and Courage certainly isn’t one. While you can make an argument it can work on Courage while he astral projects, the chances of Courage astral projecting against Scooby in character are astronomically low. Not to mention, with how good his regen is, to the point of him being able to come back from nothing in a near instant, it would definitely make Scooby catching his ghost a very difficult task. While the Tome of Doom has summons, Courage also has his own summons to offset this. He can summon a tiger with Mondo Magic, and can even call other dogs into battle to help even the odds. So the Tome of Doom, while an interesting piece of equipment, would ultimately be countered by Courage not being a supernatural being, alongside Courage’s own summons.

Let’s rapidfire through a handful of Scooby’s equipment and Courage’s counters to them. Nano Scooby snacks? Let’s go over the notable ones:

Smoke Gun: Courage has access to gas masks to counter it.

Invisibility snack: Courage can also turn invisible himself, so this likely wouldn’t provide a benefit.

Duplication snack: Courage can also duplicate, so this would even out.

Fire Breathing: Courage has been able to walk in volcanoes, and has access to gear that can endure the heat of the sun, so he’d be fine.

Instant Monster ray: Countered by Courage’s own shapeshifting and mind resistance

Magic Cards: Countered by Courage’s own summons and shapeshifting.

Morphing Snack: Really good ability to use, but considering Courage has faced someone superior to him in every way, and survived a huge stomp from it until its battery ran out, Courage could just take the punishment until Scooby just times out. Courage can also morph too so it wouldn’t help in the long run.

Small Size Snack: Interesting ability but it wouldn’t do too much against Courage, at best just makes it harder for Courage to find him, not to mention Scooby doesn’t have any creative way to hurt him in that form.

Super/Hyper Speed Snack: Very useful ability but wouldn’t help in the long run and while it helps him time travel. It’s unlikely Scooby would do a time huh in a right way since he still doesn’t have no way to kill Courage not mention it wouldn’t be his go-to

Super-Smart Scooby Snack: One of the few things that can help him with but it’s countered by Courage having his own all knowing desktop.

Batman Costumes: Courage counters with gas mask, and regen

With those counters in mind he has a few good abilities and arsenal he can use that could cause trouble for Scoob.

Courage’s screaming: While taking a sound attack by a pulse that can shatter glass is impressive, considering Courage’s scream can shatter the fucking sun into a millions pieces, taking a glass shattering attack would won’t mean jack here. Courage can also leave Scooby stunned, leaving him open for one last deadly attack, one of Courage’s best ways of harming Scooby.

Courage also has access to a few pieces of equipment that Scooby doesn’t exactly have an answer to. Scooby has shown himself susceptible to having his soul snatched, so the Junk Box & Record would be able to steal and seal away his without much issue. However, considering Scooby can continue fighting on without his soul, Courage needs a bit more than that to put him down for good. While Courage has methods to seal Scooby’s body away, due to Scoob’s resistances and counters he’d actually be unaffected by this, so more complicated workarounds need to be used.

No resistances to sleep manipulation have come up for Scooby, meaning he could very likely be affected by Courage’s Ball of Glitter, which would put him to sleep as soon as it connects, leaving him wide open to any of Courage’s other options, and giving him time to potentially figure out a way to put Scooby down for good.

He could also just mind control Scooby with the Duck Brothers' helmet, which has shown to bypass Mind Control resistances, as it affected Courage who could very consistently fight back against mind manipulation or outright be unaffected by it. While you could argue that Scooby's nose could take it off, it would still be incredibly hard to pull off, not just cause the nose is technically part of Scooby, but even if we assume it wouldn't be mind controlled, it would still have to successfully fight off against the mind controlled Scooby as well. The helmet also increases the user's strength, meaning it's gonna be a very difficult fight for Scooby's nose or tail to overpower the mind controlled Scoob.

A very notable advantage for Courage would be Computer. Through unknown means, Computer is able to analyze and provide the exact info courage needs to know on any scenario, and after incapacitating Scooby with sleep haxx, it would give him more than enough time to get the info he’d need from Computer to find a way to put down Scoob for good.

That potential permanent wincon, funnily enough, also involves Computer. Computer can be downloaded into other living beings and take full control of them, such as when he was downloaded into Muriel and took complete control over her body until he was re-installed back onto his Computer body. If Scoob is put to sleep, it would leave him wide open to Courage plugging Computer in, uploading Computer into Scooby, and letting Computer take him over completely. While Scooby isn’t dead, or even BFR’d, he’d effectively no longer be in control of his body and a (dubious) ally to Courage now. While potentially one of the weirdest wincons possible, installing Computer onto Scoob is a genuine potential way for Courage to clinch a win.

While Scooby may have a lot of counters to Courage’s stuff, Courage’s own counters, summons, sleep hax, and Computer’s insane analytical abilities and body snatching capabilities ultimately proves that Courage could very much deal with Scooby's own arsenal giving the Cowardly Dog a massive advantage in the fight.

Tertiary Factors

When it comes to a skill perspective it’s not hard to see Courage having an edge, while Scooby is certainly no slouch Courage has shown to have very capable aptitudes for various different areas of combat even without any prior knowledge of them. Such as swordplay, martial arts and keen on the fly thinking when it comes to being backed into a corner. Scoob’s combat mastery is much more situational, requiring switching into a specific costume, while Courage’s is more innate. With all that into account it’s not hard to see Courage could very feasibly capitalize on anything from his repertoire that would be incredibly advantageous at pulling a fast one on Scooby.

And while Scooby isn’t dumb by any means, he can be somewhat of a klutz and can be prone to getting caught up inadvertently in unfavorable circumstances, and while both can quite smart when the situation calls for it, Courage has a very significant amount of ingenuity and resourcefulness that’s aided him in getting a leg up on numerous predicaments he’s found himself in. So ultimately while both have their shortcomings Courage’s sharp instincts and efficient intuition coupled with some of Scooby’s clumsiness can create openings for Courage to take advantage of and assist him in delivering any notable method of initiating a successful maneuver on Scooby.

Scooby does have dupes, and costumes to fool Courage but with Courage’s experiences with enemies with disguises on a daily basis, and not trusting them makes Scooby tricking him unlikely. Even then Courage can very easily spot traps or just wouldn't as easily walk into them.

Not to mention, the insane analytical potential offered by Computer would allow Courage the opportunity to fully analyze Scoob to gain the scoop on what he’d need to do to take the win.

Conclusion

"There's no such thing as perfect. You’re beautiful as you are, Courage. With all your imperfections, you can do anything."

Advantages:

  • Smarter and more level-headed

  • Much faster depending on some arguments

  • More skilled

  • Computer’s analytical abilities are absurdly useful

  • Cautious nature makes it very difficult to trick him

  • Relative regeneration potency

  • Duck Brothers' mind control helmet bypasses Scooby’s inherent mind resistance

  • Uploading Computer onto Scooby would permanently incap him for a win

  • Counters a majority of Scoobert's abilities

  • The things he does for love

  • Supports LGBT

Disadvantages:

  • Much weaker and less durable

  • Could be sealed away and be unable to escape

  • Summons aren’t as powerful as Scooby’s

  • Macaroni and Cheese

Scooby does hold a massive power gap over Courage and certainly has a few methods that could take him out via sealing. However, Courage's overwhelming speed advantage makes it near impossible for Scoobert to land any meaningful attacks, while Courage has some ways to stop Scooby in his tracks, whether it be him stunning the great dane or inducing sleep in him, which would allow Courage to get off a more notable wincon, such as mind controlling him with the Duck Brothers' helmet, or uploading Computer into his body. Not to mention the many resistances or counters to Scooby's own arsenal Courage has, and ironically enough, Courage's own cowardly nature would definitely help him with avoiding whatever tricks Scooby would try to pull on him. So in the end, with the superior speed, counters, abilities and overall batshit insane regeneration and survivability, Courage the Cowardly Dog could in fact Scooby-Doo this shit.
