Death Battle Predictions: Thor vs Vegeta

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before the fall.”

- Proverbs 16:18

Thor Odinson, the God of Thunder and All-Father of Asgard from Marvel Comics.

Prince Vegeta, the redeemed Saiyan prince and Z-Fighter from Dragon Ball.

Pride fuels their ego, making them overconfident in themselves. It leads them to believe that they’re the best of the best, even if it doesn’t always turn out that way. It’s what drives them to be the very best, like no one ever was. These two warriors have long worked towards that very goal, constantly growing stronger and stronger along the way. However, they have also come to be some of the mightiest defenders of the world as well, and no evildoer should underestimate the danger these two pose. But only one of these proud princes will be victorious in a battle to the death. Energy and lightning will line the sky in this clash of royal champions; will the Saiyan prince prevail, or will the All-Father reign supreme? Brace yourself for combat, because it’s time for a DEATH BATTLE!

Episode also comes out on Goku Day just like Vegeta vs Shadow, so that’s cool.

Background

Thor

“I am the son of Odin. King of Asgard. Ruler of the ten realms. God of thunder and the storm. And you… you are just the errand boy of a hailstorm.”

Asgard. An extra-dimensional plane of existence beyond the world of mortals. One of the Ten Norse Realms. Home to a pantheon of divine might. And of those mighty gods, few stood out more than Thor Odinson.

As the son of the All-Father Odin and the Elder Goddess, Gaea (or maybe the Phoenix but SHUT UP), Thor grew up in royalty along with his adopted brother Loki. Thor lived a life of grandiose proportions, becoming Asgard’s most revered warrior from childhood. He was nothing short of exceptional, and he knew it more than anyone. His skills made him haughty and arrogant, and by extension, stupid and reckless. He ended up accidentally igniting a war on Asgard, and that was the last straw for his father.

Seeing that his son was in need of some much deserved humbling, Odin stripped Thor of his powers, made him forget who he was, and sent him to Earth as a physically-disabled med student named Donald Blake. One day while vacationing in Norway, Donald would stumble upon an alien plot. Scared, he fled into a cave and discovered a walking stick, which he used to hit a rock. However, that walking stick turned out to be Mjolnir in disguise, and Donald suddenly transformed into the god of thunder Thor. This didn’t mean life on Earth would be easy for Thor though, as this transformation attracted the attention of his adoptive brother Loki, who would constantly create new schemes and enemies against Thor in order to become ruler of Asgard. Of course, Thor wouldn’t be alone in this fight. He would become a founding member of the Avengers, Earth’s mightiest heroes.

Odin’s plan to humble Thor by banishing him to Earth proved to be successful. Thor grew to be a powerful and noble protector of the Ten Realms, defending it not only from Loki, but other enemies of Asgard as well, such as Hela, Sultur, and Malekith, in addition to intergalactic villains such as Thanos, Galactus, and Gorr the God Butcher. In addition, Thor would achieve the impossible and break the cycle of Ragnarok that plagued his people, finally freeing them from constant death and rebirth.

Eventually, Odin stepped down as King of Asgard and named his son as his successor. After years of hardships and accomplishments since his banishment to Earth, Thor would finally prove his worthiness as king and become a ruler that his people can depend upon. Watch, true believers. For those who wish to disturb the peace of the Ten Realms, they had better be ready to face the power of the mighty Thor.

Vegeta

“You may have invaded my mind and my body, but there’s one thing a Saiyan always keeps: His Pride!”

Under the control of Lord Frieza, the Saiyan army was a known terror across the universe. Ruled by the mighty King Vegeta, they had the title of the strongest warrior race, and no one was more well aware of this title than the king’s heir, the prince… also Vegeta. Fun fact, also the name of the planet the Saiyans lived on.

The young Vegeta was three things: cold, strong, and prideful. Even as a child, Vegeta believed himself to be above the majority of the universe. And he had a damn good point, as he certainly stood out amongst his race. His superiority would further be proven as one of Frieza’s soldiers, after Frieza blew up Vegeta. The planet, not the prince. Or the king.

Many years after his planet’s destruction, Vegeta and his ally Nappa would receive a message from a dying Raditz, telling them of the Earth and its wish-granting Dragon Balls. With the goal to achieve immortality, the Saiyans went off to Earth to achieve their goal. They did not achieve their goal. Long story short, Vegeta was barely left alive due to a low class Saiyan warrior named Kakarot, and his earthling friends. Vegeta would later go to Namek with the hope of using its Dragon Balls with the goal to achieve immortality once again. And once again he failed, but ended on a different note. He had worked with the earthlings he previously fought, and witnessed his rival Kakarot become a legendary Super Saiyan and defeat his lifelong tormentor Frieza.

Years would pass with new enemies passing by, and new connections to Earth developed. Vegeta gained a family, met his son from the future, had his son in the present, and overall settled into daily life. He had his negative experiences for sure, not always playing as a goodie-two-shoes. But he was able to truly become a hero, sacrificing himself on more than one occasion and admitting Goku’s superiority.

Despite his mistakes, he became a good man, becoming both truly happy - and of course, more powerful. It doesn’t matter what opposition shows up next: with a smirk on his face and his pride on the line, Prince Vegeta will always rise up to a challenge. Whether it be for his Saiyan pride, or his loved ones.

Equipment

Thor

Mjolnir

A mighty hammer forged by dwarves in the heart of a star and created from a primordial metal ore, Uru, Mjolnir, literally translating to “grinder,” has been Thor’s signature weapon for the majority of his history. Its most notable attribute is its worthiness enchantment, meaning that only those Mjolnir deems “worthy”, typically a noble-hearted hero, is capable of wielding it. Anyone else will be physically unable to lift it off of the ground. Qualified candidates range from Thor himself to Captain America to… Squirrel Girl, apparently. Thor can summon Mjolnir to his hand at any time, as it will fly at unimaginable speeds towards his beck and call. It also has the ability to reverse magical spells, amongst various other powers (expanded in the Abilities section). As a bonus, it's also a holy relic to keep all those pesky undead away

The God Tempest

The God Tempest is a galaxy-sized cosmic storm that was sealed within the Uru that would become Mjolnir. According to the Halls of All-Knowing, "its winds blew comets off course, ripped worlds from their orbit, and snuffed out stars like flickering candles."

Also known as the Mother of Thunder, It was sealed by Odin. Should the storm be released from Mjolnir, it will continue its path of destruction in consuming the cosmos.

King Thor has shown the ability to release all of its power in go, the resulting blast destroying the All Black wielded by Gorr the God Butcher.

Jarnbjorn

One of Thor’s primary weapons besides Mjolnir, Jarnbjorn: The Wrecker of Worlds, is a dwarven-forged battle ax that is composed of Asgardian Steel. Jarnbjorn was Thor’s go-to weapon in times that he wasn’t worthy to lift Mjolnir. It also sports magical enhancements that make it indestructible to even beings like Apocalypse, while also holding enchantments that make it potent enough to kill abstract gods such as the Celestials.

Megingjord

Also known as the enchanted Belt of Strength which can be summoned to him. As the name implies, this belt doubles Thor’s already enormous strength. He can even attach it onto Mjolnir to double its power as well.  However, it comes at a cost: the belt severely drains his stamina the longer he has it on.

Crimson Hand

A special glove created by Morduk for Thor. When worn, the enchanted disks on the palm of the glove, when touching anyone, will prevent either person from lying.

Huginn and Muninn

Huginn and Muninn were originally scouting Ravens for Odin, surveying and traveling across the Ten Realms to give him updates on what has transpired. Thor has used them before, and should hold rightful ownership as the King of Asgard, especially after the death of Odin. They are incredibly fast, being able to physically traverse entire realms in seconds. Huginn and Muninn can travel through any dimensional barrier in existence, including the Bifrost bridge. These two can aid in battle by giving Thor information or outright manipulating the souls of their opponents. Through them, Thor can also telepathically communicate with others.

Toothgrinder and Toothgnasher

Originally known as Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr, these two are Thor’s mystical goats that pull his chariot. As the pinnacle of all goats, they back up that claim with the ability to fly at speeds high enough to cross all ten realms in short timeframes. They’re also strong enough to damage high tier Asgardians such as Volstagg, the War Thor. They’re even battle experienced, having gone into battle alongside Thor quite a few times, and will rush to fight against anything or anyone. To top it off, their weirdest power is the ability to resurrect themselves if eaten, so long as their bones are intact. They’re Thor’s pets as well as his never-ending food supply. Thor can summon the goats at will, usually with his chariot being pulled behind them.

Vegeta

Saiyan Armor

A Saiyan’s trusty armor and Vegeta’s clothing of choice when heading into battle. The armor is extremely light and easy to move around in, not slowing down Vegeta a bit while adding a minor layer of protection.

Destruction Earning

An earring given to Vegeta by Beerus symbolizing his ability to use Destruction Energy.

Abilities

Thor

Asgardian + Elder God Physiology

Hailing from Asgard, Thor possesses superhuman physical attributes far beyond any mortal being. His body is denser, fine in hostile environments such as deep space, has natural resistance to magical spells, and can regenerate at a quickened rate. And if that’s not enough, he’s immortal. His soul is also far stronger than normal people's due to this as well.

Like all other deities, he is able to speak any language though Allspeak, also known as All-Tongue. This isn’t limited to languages on Earth; it also extends to the language of animals and aliens.

He also has a special degree of divinity. This divinity allows Asgardians and other gods like Ares to interact with higher spatial and temporal dimensions as well as constructs to an extent. Thor’s divinity allowed him to escape a 4th-dimensional tesseract, and Ares’ allowed him to move in planck time to combat Nate Grey. This nature tends to provide some resistance to molecular tampering for some gods, including Thor

Gods are simply concepts given shape. They are myths and stories given physical form through the belief of mankind. Nate Grey notes that Ares personifies war on every plane as an example, and Thor himself is an elemental archetype, embodying the storm. This is nothing if not consistent as gods are stated to be extradimensional representations of abstract concepts.

Lastly, divinity seems to tie the respective god to prayers, which can enhance them:

Martial Arts

Having trained with both masterful Asgardian warriors and several members of the Avengers, Thor is incredibly potent when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. His skill has gained the respect of seasoned fighters like Captain America, and even as a young child he was capable of defeating experienced Asgardian warriors. Furthermore his combat skills were able to contend with: Shang-Chi, who is regarded as one of the greatest fighters in the Marvel Universe; Man-Beast, who knows every form of combat, advanced by a million years of evolution; and Lady Sif, one of Asgard’s most skilled warriors.

Extrasensory Senses & Cosmic Awareness

Thanks to Mjolnir, Thor can detect and track someone’s presence across the cosmos. As shown in the panel above, said tracking is even efficient enough to detect forces through different planes of reality. He is also somehow able to hear individual raindrops and a wider range of colors, as well as invisible enemies, and can sense danger as well. With Mjolnir, he can track and sense the auras of immortals such as Loki or aliens, sense magical energies, and it will even tingle like it has his own Spider-Sense when a supernatural menace is near at hand.

Odinforce / Thorforce

The Odinforce is an ability that allows Thor access to godly amounts of raw cosmic and magical energy. This enhances his abilities to insane degrees and allows him new ones. These range from changing reality to even erasing people from it. For most of the time he has had it, Thor has only had access to a portion of the Odinforce, however as Odin has died recently, he gained access to the full power of it.

Nigh-Omniscience

Odin has an incredibly potent amount of cosmic awareness, to the point that it borders omniscience. He can know and see all that he needs to, with Ultron even commenting that he could see everything when he had gotten the Odinforce. And with anything Odin (or Thor) needs help knowing or seeing, Huginn and Muninn can certainly help (see below).

Reality Warping

Similar to other powerful sources like the Power Cosmic or Chaos Magic, the Odinforce grants the ability to warp reality. Odin has used this undo damage to different realms, create a space between the ten realms, and disrupt the cosmos in a chess game with Dormammu.

Existence Erasure

With the power of the Odinforce, Thor has the ability to erase people from existence with a wave of his hand. It has also been noted that Odin was able to erase others with this power as well.

Conceptual Manipulation

Stemming from the immense reality warping prowess of the Odinforce comes the ability to manipulate concepts. To manipulate ideas themselves rather than just physical or spiritual aspects of something. Odin showed this ability most directly in a game of chess against Dormammu where the game was messing with Master Order and Lord Chaos - conceptual, abstract, archetypal entities that represent order and chaos itself across all reality. Odin can even fight a war beyond the very concept of war itself.

Life Manipulation

Odin can manipulate life itself. He has stated that he has breathed life into man and backed up this ability before by resurrecting the dead. Thor has also done this himself when he brought back many Asgardians from the dead. Old King Thor even used the Thorforce to bring his younger self back to life after his death.

Death Manipulation

As the king of the Norse pantheon, Odin gains limited access to Valhalla, the place of the honored dead. He is able to manipulate the gates of Valhalla and open them up for beings like Jane to enter.

Quantum Manipulation

Odin has created a magical bloodstorm by manipulating quantum particles to create an army of Asgardian blood legions.

Telepathy

Odin is without a doubt, one of the most powerful telepaths in Marvel, bar none. He can fight Galactus in a psychic battle. Galactus in the past has been able to keep the abstract, Oblivion out of his mind. He was able to keep the nonexistence before all creation out of his mind.

Gaeaforce

The Gaeaforce, a power from his mother Gaea, allowed Thor to control and grow planet life. He has also revoked powers with the Gaeaforce, summoned vines, lava and rocks from beneath the earth to temporarily restrain Mjolnir in a pillar of rocks and created an energy tornado so potent that according to Reed Richards, no force on Earth could break through. This would include powerhouses such as the Thing, Beta Ray Bill, and even Doctor Strange, who were all present during the battle against the Mangog Tempest during which this tornado was created.

Geokinesis

Due to being a child of Gaea, Thor can control not only the elements, but also the Earth itself.

Flight

By tossing his hammer at incredible speeds and then grabbing onto it a moment later, Thor can propel himself into the air as shown in the image above. However, he’s shown to be capable of flight even without his trusty mallet.

Weather Manipulation

Thor can use his hammer to manipulate the weather, summoning thunder (duh), tornadoes, hurricanes, tsunamis, blizzards, etc. But much like another certain weather manipulator in Marvel, Thor’s control over weather gets pretty absurd. Thor is capable of summoning and controlling cosmic, temporal and solar storms, creating flaming rain, calling forth a cosmic hurricane and creating a storm the size of a realm or another one capable of affecting other realms. Even capable of making storms inside of someone and in Heaven where there are no storms.

Elemental Manipulation

With Mjolnir’s mighty electric powers along with Thor’s literal title as “God of Thunder'', Thor naturally has the ability to create incredibly powerful lightning attacks that stand out from his other weather based attacks due to their extra power which can weld tectonic plates together, act as a global EMP, and be precise enough to create writing on tombstones. It is also worth noting that Thor can control lightning with and without Mjolnir. Also he can use his lightning to fix Mjolnir if it breaks as well as using it to manifest a lightning sword

Surprisingly, that’s not the only element Thor can conjure up, he can also shoot fire out of Mjolnir, infuse his hammer with darkforce from the Nether Worlds, and summon tidal waves. He can even make it rain fire because at this point, is there really even a point?

Energy Manipulation

Through Mjolnir, Thor can control and absorb multiple forms of energy. Whether it would be magical or artificial, as an attack or a defense, Thor has shown to be very efficient with his energy manipulation.

Forcefields

By spinning his hammer really, really fast Thor is able to attract quantities of interdimensional cosmic matrix energy (whatever the hell that is) to form a forcefield.

Life-Force Absorption

Via this ability, Mjolnir is capable of draining an opponent’s life force and reducing them to a lifeless husk as a result. This was demonstrated when he used this ability against the Presence and Loki.

Power Absorption

A very potent ability which allows for Mjolnir to absorb his opponent’s powers to use it for himself or remove said powers completely. To which he has done this against a well-fed Galactus twice, Loki’s immortality, The Wrecking Crew's magical powers, Cyttorak’s power from the Juggernaut, Jake Olsen’s powers, the Guardian's ability to borrow powers, and even an Ultron A.I.

Magnetism

One of Mjonir’s wackier powers is controlling magnetic forces, ranging from attracting metallic objects, to harassing it from across the galaxy, to absorbing them, as seen when he absorbed Magento's forcefield and the planet's to amp up his power.

Invisibility / Intangibility

By spinning his hammer really fast (suprise surprise) Thor is able to turn things invisible and intangible for everyone except for him of course. He can even completely disrupt the phasing ability of Vision.

Matter Manipulation

When Mjolnir whirls around at intense speeds, it can create and transmute matter. Thor has used this ability to incapacitate foes like the Absorbing Man by creating helium and whether it was with Mjolnir or the power of the Odinforce, he was able to perform other actions with this ability such as turning a pyramid into trees, conjuring a new costume for himself, creating food, fusing the molecules of someone, making two burning buildings repair themselves, reconstructing Asgard from scratch and rebuilding the moon on a molecular level. Thor can even atomize foes with this ability, sometimes through physical blows alone. Mjolnir can also emit Alpha and Antimatter particles, because why not at this point.

Time Manipulation

As if Mjolnir’s abilities weren’t mind-boggling enough, it even grants Thor the ability to alter the passage of time. He can stop the flow of time, even to a condensed area, rewind time, and travel both forward and backward in time. This becomes even more potent once he acquired the Odinforce.

Mind Manipulation

With his powers, Thor is able to erase the memory of someone and make it appear as though they were nothing more than a dream with something called the Gift of Forgetfulness. He gave this Gift of Forgetfulness to mortals who had found themselves wrapped up in his adventures, as for some mortals certain sights are better left unremembered. He also can send his mind back in time and space to recall events. With Mjolnir, Thor can also put people into a trance and use telekinesis.

Sleep Manipulation

Thor is able to use his Asgardian magic to put people to sleep, as seen with Jane Foster.

Soul Manipulation

With a swirl of his hammer, Thor can manipulate souls, and send them back to their original bodies. With the Odinforce, he should be capable of ripping souls asunder like his father and  fusing together the soul of his past self and Jake Olsen.

Empathy Manipulation

Surprise surprise, yet another wacky and lesser-known ability Mjonlir/Thor has, with a swing of his hammer Thor can change the hearts of others as seen above with a group of thieves.

Dimensional Travel

Mjolnir can create portals, vortexes, and wormholes that allow for instantaneous travel. This also makes Mjolnir an efficient BFR tool, since it’s transported numerous entities to other dimensions. Thor can use this ability in various ways. He can transport foes to Limbo, a cosmological realm beyond the concepts of space and time. Thor has opened portals to realms of timeless place & placeless time, and Mjolnir has been stated to have the ability to transport Thor to worlds within worlds and worlds beside worlds (what the fuck does this mean-). This portal creation ability can also be used to redirect attacks. And now that Thor is the All-Father of Asgard, he has control over the Bifrost and the Odinforce, which can be used to send somebody to any point in time and space.

Sealing

Thor has shown the ability to seal away others, such as trapping Hyperion in a glass dome. Odin himself has shown far greater displays of this ability, such as sealing the God Tempest within a piece of Uru, sealing Beta Ray Bill in a sphere of energy, and sealing away the entire tenth realm, Heaven.

Warrior’s Madness

A sickness that Asgardians can suffer from, which affects the mind. In this state, Thor gains a tremendous increase to his overall stats, with the form being stated to make him tens of times stronger. It is not without its flaws however, as while using the form Thor succumbs to madness, as the name implies.

Thermo-Blast

The Thermo-Blast is one of Thor’s lesser-known - but still incredibly powerful - moves, where Thor gathers the elements around him for a big AoE blast powerful enough to shake the universe and defeat Ego the Living Planet.

Anti-Force

Thor is capable of producing an indescribably powerful blast known as the Anti-Force, capable of destroying planets and severely damaging Mangog.

God-Blast

The God-Blast (AKA a better version of the Anti-Force) is Thor’s most powerful attack, being capable of harming skyfather- and abstract-tier entities. It is simply the divine energies of Thor’s life force channeled through Mjolnir to create an absolutely devastating magical blast. Thor can use the God-Blast as a beam of energy or even as a huge AoE attack. At his best, Thor doesn’t even need Mjolnir to use the God-Blast, as shown by Old King Thor during his fight with Gorr the God Butcher.

Resistances

Vegeta

Saiyan Physiology

As a Saiyan, Vegeta has immense superhuman speed, strength, durability, and stamina. He can move in increased gravity without much strain put onto his body, travel as a blur in combat, and can take an insane amount of punishment even from the deadliest of foes. Alongside that, he has a genetic trait known as the Zenkai Boost, an ability that allows a Saiyan’s battle performance to continuously increase against adversity by allowing them to heal faster in relatively short periods of time and simultaneously improve compared to before. Vegeta will imprint on his injuries and/or experiences and instantly learn from it, allowing his mind and body to adapt to those struggles. For each Zenkai Boost, Vegeta’s physical might increases, and the more severe the damage that he sustains, the more significant the power boost will be. However, after a certain point, the power gained from a Zenkai Boost resulting from a near-death experience becomes negligible.

Rage Boost

A Saiyan’s true power comes from their rage. In addition to the Zenkai Boost, Saiyans also have the ability to dramatically increase their power while angered, without even needing to ascend to a form higher than the one they’ve already unlocked. While the other remaining pure blooded Universe 7 Saiyans (Goku and Broly) have shown this ability, Vegeta has the most defining example, in which he was able to do much better against Lord Beerus as a mere Super Saiyan 2 than Goku at Super Saiyan 3 when Beerus slapped his wife.

Martial Arts

As an experienced fighter, Vegeta is an expert at hand-to-hand combat. He’s been able to keep up in skill with fighting prodigies like Goku and Frieza, and he trains pretty much every day of his life, even under harsh conditions like gravity 450 times greater than Earth. He’s even received expert training from gods like Whis, bringing his already-incredible skill to even greater heights.

  • Final Blow: Vegeta launches himself forward, moving faster than the eye can track, and deals a heavy blow to his opponent's gut.

  • Final Strike: Vegeta delivers a near unblockable kick to his opponent, sending them flying.

  • Elite Assault: Vegeta headbutts his opponent hard enough to send them flying, then flies over and kicks them hard in the face before slamming his foe into the ground.

  • Genocide Breaker: Vegeta launches his opponent into the air before rushing up to them and delivering a devastating blow on their ribcage, immobilizing them. As they’re stunned, Vegeta delivers a powerful energy blast right in front of his opponent.

  • Amazing Impact: Vegeta dodges his opponent’s attack and counters with a kick strong enough to send them flying. He then backflips up onto his feet and flies up into the air above the opponent, before finally knocking them down to the ground.

  • Wild Hunt: Vegeta knocks his opponent away with an uppercut before dashing towards them and delivering an aerial double kick. Vegeta then flies up into the air to slam his opponent to the ground before charging up and ramming into his opponent.

  • Spirit Breaking Cannon: Vegeta punches his opponent hard in the gut before kicking them upward. He then rushes up from below and brutally kicks them in the stomach before knocking them back down.

  • Infinite Break: Vegeta punches his opponent twice in the face before kneeing them in the stomach and punching them away.

  • On a 100 point, I’d give you a 30 at best!: Vegeta grabs his opponent’s face and slams them down on the ground before kicking them away.

  • Pride of our Warrior Race: Vegeta punches his opponent’s stomach and face before knocking them down on the ground. Vegeta rushes toward them before delivering a barrage of punches, and then ending it with one mighty blow.

  • Savage Strike: Vegeta teleports above his opponent and covers his fist in Ki before punching them in the face.

Ki Manipulation

Serving as the primary energy used in Dragon Ball, Vegeta can use Ki to do things such as fly and increase his power. By manipulating Ki, Vegeta can perform a variety of techniques.

  • Flight: You know the drill by now. By making use of Ki, Vegeta gains the ability to fly at high speeds.

  • Ki Blasts: The most basic form of a Ki attack, Vegeta fires small but powerful spheres of energy.

  • Consecutive Energy Blasts: A rapid fire barrage of Ki blasts solely used by Vegeta and no one else. It never works.

  • Energy Rings: Vegeta fires five powerful rings of energy at his opponents, trapping their arms, legs, and neck. With his opponent trapped, Vegeta can use this opportunity to attack them or shit-talk them.

  • Galick Gun: Vegeta’s signature attack, in which he curls his fingers and places both hands together in the air before gathering up massive amounts of Ki. Once charged up, he thrusts both of his hands forward and fires a powerful pink energy blast. It’s strong enough to threaten entire planets and even clash with Goku’s Kamehameha

  • Final Galick Cannon: Vegeta impales his opponent through their stomach with a mighty blow before blowing through their insides with a powerful energy blast.

  • Final Burst Cannon: Vegeta powers up and forms a white aura around himself before firing a massive energy blast at the target. The resulting explosion can dwarf entire planets in size.

  • Galick Blazer: Vegeta fires a large and powerful energy ball from his hand.

  • Double Galick Cannon: Vegeta charges right in front of his opponent before stopping and placing both of his hands on their chest. He then proceeds to charge and fire a devastating energy wave from his hands right in front of his foe.

  • Galaxy Breaker: Vegeta throws his opponent in the air and generates electricity around himself, converting it into a white aura around him before firing it as a massive energy blast towards his enemy.

  • Shine Shot: Vegeta gathers a ball of fire in his hand and throws it at the enemy.

  • Tail Slicer: A small yellow disk of energy sharp enough to cut through many foes and definitely isn’t a rip-off of anything.

  • Super Explosive Wave: Vegeta surrounds himself in Ki before unleashing it as a large omnidirectional blast of energy, perfect as both an offensive and defensive move.

  • Dirty Fireworks: Vegeta points two of his fingers at his opponent, detonating them on the spot.

  • Big Bang Attack: Vegeta charges up a blue ball of energy on one hand before firing it at the enemy, outputting enough power to cause a huge mushroom cloud.

  • God Heat Flash: Basically a variation of the Big Bang Attack; instead of firing it as an energy sphere, Vegeta fires it as an energy wave.

  • Final Flash: Vegeta puts both of his hands together and begins charging massive amounts of Ki, forming a small sphere of energy that emits electricity from it. Once ready, he releases a devastating and gigantic energy wave at the opponent, with enough power to threaten the entire Earth.

  • Maximum Flasher: Vegeta rushes towards his opponent and fires a white blast of energy at them, creating a massive explosion.

  • Final Explosion: By converting his life force into energy, Vegeta unleashes a massive explosion from his body, covering the horizon and leaving a massive crater. Although using this technique cost Vegeta his life and our tears at first, he has grown so powerful that he can now use the technique without killing himself, although it still leaves him severely drained of energy.

  • Heat Dome Attack: Vegeta points both his hands up in the air and charges a large dome of energy around himself. From this energy dome, he expels a gigantic wave of energy up at the opponent.

  • Gamma Burst Flash: Vegeta charges up Ki in both of his hands before firing a large energy blast similar to the Double Galick Cannon. This technique is so strong, it can defeat opponents far above Vegeta in strength.

  • Spirit Sword: Vegeta summons a blade of yellow Ki from his index and middle fingers before using it to slice apart opponents. He can even use it on the ground to anchor himself.

  • Instant Transmission: A technique taught to him by the Yardrats, Vegeta places his index and middle fingers on his forehead in order to concentrate. Then, he tries to focus on the specific energy target of a person. Once he’s locked onto them, he can instantly teleport to their location, whether they be miles or even light years away. Not only can this be used for travel, but can also be used in combat for greater mobility.

Spirit Fission

Learned from the Yardrats that also taught him Instant Transmission, Vegeta can use this technique to extract gained energy from his target. Specifically energy that does not specifically come from the target’s natural strength and abilities but rather an outside source, against Moro it was the energy he had stolen from various planets and people. However this technique needs to actually hit the opponent for it to activate, limiting its usefulness if the enemy can avoid Vegeta’s attacks.

Hakai

By harnessing Destruction Energy, Vegeta can perform an incredibly dangerous technique known as Hakai. Hakai is insanely potent, as anything touched by destruction energy will be completely erased into nothing. The technique can even be used to destroy souls, making it very useful for dealing with hard-to-kill opponents.

A common misconception with the technique is that it doesn’t work on opponents stronger than the user, however this isn’t the case. For cases in Dragon Ball where it has been resisted, it is more likely just that: a resistance. If it was true that it could only work on weaker foes, then Goku would not have been able to use it on Merged Zamasu in the manga, who he was clearly not superior to in terms of power.

Transformations

Super Saiyan

The Saiyan form of legend, the Super Saiyan. After vigorous training Vegeta was able to achieve this golden-haired form. Not only does it sport a 50 times boost in overall stats, but also has several grades to it that increase said multiplier. The highest grade Vegeta has shown on screen is Grade 2, which he affectionately dubbed Super Vegeta, which has elevated speed and strength. The third grade has the greatest strength of them, but does a number on his speed.

Super Saiyan 2

Adding onto the already impressive power of the first Super Saiyan form, Super Saiyan 2 is a 100 times boost to base stats. While twice as strong as a regular Super Saiyan, the form isn’t too visually different besides the addition of electricity flowing through its aura.

Super Saiyan God

Another Saiyan form of Legend. Through Super Saiyan God, Vegeta can access godly Ki and thus becomes absurdly more powerful. While we do not know a specific increase for this form like the golden Super Saiyan forms, it is clearly massively more powerful than them. This includes forms like Super Saiyan 3, which gives the user a 400 times boost to all stats.

Super Saiyan Blue

Adding onto the power of Super Saiyan God, Vegeta uses his God Ki not in base but while transforming into his Super Saiyan form at the same time. This gives him a godly aura and blue hair, hence the name Super Saiyan Blue. Logically it should be 50 times stronger than its red haired counterpart, due to how the Super Saiyan form works. The form is incredibly strong, but lacks good stamina control when entering and leaving the form.

Mastered Super Sayian Blue

This is Super Saiyan Blue perfected. The form is achieved by one containing all the energy that is released by Super Saiyan Blue inside their body for maximum power. The form is an undefined but large increase, allowing fellow Saiyan Goku to go from being easily defeated by Fused Zamasu to being able to have an even fight. While the form is strong, it does have the drawback of a greater drain on stamina than Super Saiyan Blue, meaning it is better saved for shorter fights.

Super Saiyan Blue Evolution

Out of a desire to protect his pride and the people he cares about, Vegeta rose in power and his Super Saiyan Blue form evolved. In this state, Vegeta is massively more powerful than his previous blue-related forms, matching Goku’s Super Saiyan Blue combined with Kaioken x20 in the anime, and letting him fight Moro in the manga.

Ultra Ego

Goddamn that forehead

Vegeta’s strongest transformation, in which he fully embraces his pride and dons a color scheme William Afton would applaud. This form gives Vegeta a gigantic power boost, and allows him to use destruction energy to the max and seemingly has healing capabilities upon activation. However, the form’s main gimmick comes in taking hits; like a reverse Ultra Instinct, Ultra Ego requires the user to take hits, as damage sustained is turned into power which the user will attain. However, the form can be overwhelmed if Vegeta were to take too much damage.

Also he loses his eyebrows wtf gross?!?

Resistances

  • Extreme Temperatures: Can move through the coldness of outer space. Goku can also stand next to stars.

  • Mind Control: Through sheer will was able to overcome Babidi’s mind control

  • Time Stop: Scales to Jiren who managed to move within Hit’s Time Cage, which locks the opponent in time. Jiren himself was stated to be above time

  • Dimensional BFR: Scales above Gotenks and Buu, who were able to scream holes in reality in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and later broke out of it himself by simply powering up.

  • Existence Erasure: Was able to fight and power through Toppo’s constant Hakai, as seen in the gif above.

Weaknesses

Thor

Despite wielding power that would even leave most gods in awe, Thor has never been without flaws, something he’s had to learn time and time again. Thor usually has a tendency to hold back his true power a lot, in fear that he may accidentally kill those close to him or destroy the world, which at times could allow his enemies to gain the upper hand on him. In addition, if he uses too much of the Odinforce, it could overtax him and require him to go into the Thorsleep.

Vegeta

At the end of the day, while Vegeta’s pride serves as a great motivator for him, it also makes him ridiculously cocky whenever he’s gotten a shiny new technique or form. This can lead to him leaving himself open, taking unneeded damage during fights, or underestimating how much punishment his opponent can take. It has also led to him allowing the main villain to reach their full power not once, BUT TWICE. Also, whenever he points at himself he becomes a million times more likely to get his ass kicked.

Summary

Thor

“Let those who worship evil tremble and despair! The Mighty Thor shall fight for Asgard and the universe entire!”

Advantages:

  • Overwhelmingly takes the stat trinity with the Thorforce

  • Faster even without added buffs

  • The Godblast could one-shot Vegeta

  • Far more versatile abilities

  • Immensely more experienced and skilled

  • Layered resistances means he resists Vegeta’s hax, including Hakai and Spirit Fission

  • Regeneration is much more potent, with immortality as an additional bonus

  • Superior range

  • Has the numbers advantage with summons (Ravens, Goats, God Tempest, etc.)

  • Knows how to rock that hair

  • Chris Hemsworth and Rick D. Wasserman

  • Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes is based seriously go watch it

Disadvantages:

  • Holds back significantly, especially against mortals like Vegeta

  • Mid-ends of base state could be weaker physically than Vegeta’s peak depending on arguments for multipliers

  • Marvel still doesn’t know who his mom is

  • Thor: The Dark World

  • Took forever to make it into MvC and when he finally did he was low tier

Vegeta

“I fight for Bulma, for Trunks and Bulla. I fight for the oath I made to a fellow warrior, for my Saiyan pride. I fight for all I’ve built and for all I am!”

Advantages:

  • Possibly stronger and tougher than base Thor’s mid-ends with multipliers

  • Multiple forms to increase his power level drastically, which could catch Thor off-guard

  • If he survives a hit when in Ultra Ego, he could get a huge power boost

  • Dragon Ball Super: Broly is based seriously go watch it

  • Knows who his Mom is… probably

  • Has a cool mustache

Disadvantages:

  • Even with higher end multipliers, he’s still slower than base level Thor

  • Outclassed immensely in all stats against Thor with the Thorforce

  • Would be one shot by the God-Blast

  • Heavily outnumbered in arsenal and abilities

  • Less experienced and skilled

  • All of his hax are easily resisted, whereas Thor’s layered hax can bypass Vegeta’s resistances

  • Due to the massive AP gap, Ultra Ego’s power boosts from being hit are unreliable

  • That hairline

  • Is 5’5”

Not only does the fight come out on May 9th which is Goku Day, the episode number is also 159, AND this year is Thor’s 60th anniversary

Verdict

Before Verdict Q&A

  1. Will Dragon Ball multipliers be in use for this verdict?

Yes. Given the history of multipliers being used on Death Battle, there isn’t really a reason not to. Recent Death Battles like Hulk vs. Broly and Goku Black vs. Reverse Flash both utilized multipliers to find the power of Saiyans, and this fight is once again dealing with a Saiyan as well. It is highly unlikely that Death Battle will just suddenly stop using multipliers now, so the team feels that using them for this prediction will help yield a better guess on Death Battle’s work. Furthermore, even without Death Battle’s track record, Dragon Ball canon still helps to defend the use of this factor. We know for a fact that Toriyama is in favor of the use of his multipliers, thereby making them undoubtedly canon and usable. With all these factors brought together, the case for using Dragon Ball multipliers is quite sound, and as a result the verdict will be bringing them into consideration.

  1. Why is Ultra Ego being used?

Ever since Beerus VS Galaxia, it has been clear that Death Battle doesn’t mind using stuff from the DBS Manga in their episodes despite the contention of combining it with the anime canon in a VS setting. Some of Broly and Black’s abilities and traits were explained using manga moments, but the biggest example is them giving Beerus his pseudo Ultra Instinct that is currently a manga-exclusive ability. Thus there isn’t any reason to doubt Ultra Ego being included in the episode. Vegeta already used Hakai in the preview, which is a manga-exclusive ability as well, so Ultra Ego is almost definitely being used.

  1. How large are the realms of Yggdrasil?

As stated by quantum cosmologist Eric Solvang, “The Asgardian World Tree is like a map, okay? The Nine Worlds you recognize as a part of Yggdrasil are just the tip of...a maybe-infinite iceberg. What you know as worlds...are universes. Complex, discrete, fully-formed.”

In the next issue, Balder confirms that Dr. Solvang was indeed right, as Iron Man went to him, thinking that the Asgardians don’t understand. But in actuality, Balder did understand Eric, as he later states, “Ah, Volstagg’s small man with big thoughts. Yes. He’s right. We know.”

In fact, Odin, the very god who gave his eye to Yggdrasil, confirms and states this, “The tree that is everything. That has its roots and branches in all that is. There are ten realms in this reality--ten spheres, ten universes, and the tree winds through them all. Through every star and planet. Every hero and villain. Every story.”

This confirms that the realms are indeed universes. However, that is not all. The realms have different sizes, such as Niffleheim (also called Niflheim), the primordial realm of ice and the dishonored dead, and the home of Hel. Niffleheim, as stated by Lady Allmour of the Pleasure Lands, “Niffleheim is the largest realm in all existence. And by far the most populated, because everyone who has ever died resides here on these frozen shores.”

  1. Why is the Thorforce standard?

Thor has actually had the full Odinforce twice in Thor (1966) #399 and Thor (1998) #39 respectively so him getting the full Odinforce just now isn't a recent thing.

First time was when Odin got defeated by Surtur and was weakened so he gave all of the Odinforce to Thor to fight in his stead against Surtur.

The second time was when Thor became King Thor; Odin gave him the full Odinforce which lasted from Sept 2001 all the way to J. Michael Straczynski's Thor run (2007-2009).

To which during Straczynski's Thor run was the last time he had the full Odinforce and this happened because Mjolnir was broken during his battle with Desak so he sought out and asked Doctor Strange to fix Mjolnir for him, but it required that Strange take all of the Odinforce powers within him to fix it.

As of War of The Realms which concluded in July of 2019, he received the Odinforce once more, and as of Odin’s death wields the entirety of its power once again.

  1. How does Thor interact with Hakai and Spirit Fission

The two big questions are how do either Hakai or Forced Spirit Fission interact with Thor.

Hakai

Hakai is insanely potent, as anything touched by destruction energy will be completely erased into nothing. The technique can even be used to destroy souls. It will also erase the target across timelines.

As for Thor he has:

Resisted attacks from an Electro completely made of antimatter and an explosion of matter and antimatter. Resisted Kang's dissolution beam, which cancels the connective forces between atoms. He also survived the unbinding stone, which repeals the laws of physics and deletes all reality. The stone also made “Time meaningless and a Metaphor”. His body survived this, but he was briefly knocked out cold. He also managed to interact with Chaos King's tendrils and body, which exposure to will cause “subtraction from existence”.

In regards to attacks on his soul Mephisto is unable to devour his soul, and he is Unhurt by Ghost Rider's hellfire which can destroy souls. He also survived psychic attacks to his soul and mind from Glory.

With the Odin Force:

He scales to King Thor surviving proximity with the God Bomb, which kills gods across all space and time. With the Odin Force, Thor has survived the Destroyer’s beams, which are described as Ultimate Disintegration.

Overall, Thor seems to have sufficient resistance to the Hakai.

Spirit Fission

Spirit Fission removes any power gained from Fusion or Absorbtion. It can even undo fusions, such as Piccolo's “fused” state with Nail or Potara Fusions.  It does not affect your natural power, but can transfer natural power to others if the energy is given out of free will.

As for how Thor interacts with this ability: Thor’s only power that can be classified as non-natural would be the Odinforce which he obtains rather than produces and perhaps the God Tempest with the Mjolnir hammer.

Dr. Strange attempted to remove the Odinforce from Thor, and only managed to by being empowered by an entire Pantheon. The Odinforce normally resists such attempts.

The God Tempest is contained within Mjolnir by several enchantments placed by Odin. If it could somehow be removed it would be lethal to both combatants, as it would try to kill both.

Overall, the Odinforce has a greater level of resistance than what Spirit Fission can overcome. It is unlikely spirit fission can overcome Mjolnir’s enchantments, and if it could that would release the god tempest.

6) Does Thor in base scale to the Phoenix Force?

Put simply, no.

In Avengers vs X-Men #4, he merely dispersed it, and it came back and one-shot him.

In the same event it beat him so badly he nearly died. It's also noted the only reason he can harm the phoenix is that Odin’s enchantments on Mjolnir allow it to absorb the Phoenix’s power.

Stats

To get an idea of the gap between Thor and Vegeta in terms of power output, we’ll start out with Vegeta’s stats. And you know the drill by now, that means multiplier talk.

They’ve always been a topic of contention in regard to Dragon Ball VS Debating, and while their inclusion doesn’t really affect the verdict, it is still important to mention them to get a good gauge of Vegeta’s strength. It should be clarified that in the DBS manga, Vegeta surpasses Broly with just Super Saiyan Blue Evolution alone as that form seems to be much stronger in the manga. The statement holds up as Whis is a credible source, and it should also be noted that this statement was before Vegeta even unlocked Ultra Ego. Considering that Broly made Gogeta have to go Super Saiyan Blue in their fight, Post-Moro Arc SSBE Vegeta should be above a theoretical Super Saiyan God Gogeta from the DBS Broly Movie. That will be our end point for multipliers, though it should be noted that saying gaining Ultra Ego places Vegeta above a Broly Movie SSB Gogeta isn’t too far fetched.

Starting off with a basis, the universe spanning shockwaves should get 15 times universal and 403.56 quadrillion c. We then know Super Saiyan Blue combines Super Saiyan God with normal Super Saiyan, thus should be 50 times above the previously mentioned numbers and get 750 times universal and 20.178 quintillion c. Times twenty because of kaioken, you get 15 thousand times universal and 403.56 quintillion c. Doubling due to fusion, and then increasing by 400 for Super Saiyan 3 (this will serve as a bare minimum estimate for Super Saiyan God since it doesn’t have a definitive increase), we get 12 million times universal and 161.424 sextillion c.

This is without accounting for any potential training increases, using a bare minimum safe estimate for the increase Super Saiyan God gives, and doesn’t account for Ultra Ego. You can easily get this number dramatically higher if you factor those things, but the point of this paragraph is to give an absolute bare minimum for Vegeta to reach. If you do include other increases you can definitely get past billions of times universal, trillions of times, etc.

While this given minimum obviously seems very impressive, especially knowing that this is just scratching the surface for Vegeta, it pales in comparison to what Thor can scale to, especially when given the Thorforce. Thor can easily cross universal distances in seconds and scale to characters who can do it in mere fractions of seconds (such as Loki), the latter of which getting between 630.72 quintillion c up to 10.50 septillion c. Valkyrie and X-Man have speed feats that get between 1.5 and 2 undecillion c. At his best, Thor’s arguments get even more absurd, dipping into the immeasurable speed ranges and as a skyfather, going even beyond immeasurable. This is not a gap Vegeta can close.

Now, there’s a wide range of AP arguments one can look at when debating between Classic Thor (no Thorforce) and Vegeta. Thor on a lower end should be at least 2x Low Multiversal due to scaling to some of the best herald tiers in Marvel such as Hulk, Hyperion, and Silver Surfer. With volume scaling and the statement of Marvel’s universe having one trillion light-years, Thor ranges from 1,240 universes into multiversal up to 846,565 universes into multiversal. This can further be amplified by multipliers from both Warriors Madness (10x) and the Belt of Strength (2x). However, these are the low to mid-tier arguments. There are some higher end arguments for both Thor and Vegeta. For starters, if volume scaling were to be used, both could theoretically be scaled to multiversal+ via statements of infinite-sized universes for both Marvel and Dragon Ball. However, Marvel’s statements are far more plentiful and consistent. That being said, these statements are not required as some of Thor’s higher end feats would dip into the multiversal+ and higher ranges. For example, Loki’s momentary clash with Odin could erupt across all planes of reality (of which there are at least an infinite number in Marvel) and Thor should be on par with Loki. A clash between two weaker Thors also produced a similar result. Thor has also been able to harm the likes of Gorr the God Butcher, Galactus, Phoenix and even crack Celestial armor. However, it must be noted that Thor in his base form does not fully scale and is considered inferior to all of these entities.

However, give Thor the Odinforce (now the Thorforce), and this statement doesn’t end up aging well. Odin has been able to knock out a hungry Galactus who has threatened Mephisto’s realm in the past. Mephisto’s realm has been described as infinitely transcendental, meaning that Galactus was essentially threatening an infinite-dimensional structure while hungry. And guess what? He was going to eat it as well. Odin has one-shot Hela in the past whose fight with Mephisto was going to cause omniversal armageddon. Odin is no stranger to direct feats on this level either. He has shaken the Infinite Embassy in a battle with his equal, the almighty skyfather of the Greek pantheon, Zeus. Their fight was affecting the Infinite Embassy, which is a superstructure located above the infinite-dimensional and transfinitely layered Marvel multiverse. This is merely the tip of the iceberg as the Marvel cosmology has decades of lore that make it up (note though that these feats can be interpreted to be various different levels - from multiversal+ up to outerversal) and skyfathers have plenty of experience affecting and destroying realms that would be placed absurdly high.

To finalize it though, Thor doesn’t just have the powers of his dad. He also has powers from his mother, the Elder Goddess Gaea. To give you an idea of how powerful Gaea is. Remember Chthon? The god who gave Scarlet Witch her powers (and Wanda is no stranger to these crazy ass feats). Gaea is his sister and upscaling / downscaling aside, they are roughly on par with each other and that makes sense considering Gaea, while weakened, was able to amplify Hercules’ powers to where he could fight the Chaos King. Not only does Thor now have the Odinforce, but he also has the Gaeaforce as well. Granted, he has shown only limited abilities stemming from the Gaeaforce.

As far as durability is concerned, it should scale to Thor’s and Vegeta’s attack potency.

Arsenal and Abilities

Since this section will include stuff like Mjolnir, Jarnbjorn and quite a few other things, I’ll start with the weapons and what they do before getting into Thor himself. To start off we have:

Mjolnir:
Thor’s trusty hammer, Mjolnir, comes with a bunch of abilities that can be used on a whim. To list the basics, we have the ability to control weather and elements. This ranges from lightning to welding entire tectonic plates together, or even Mjolnir itself when broken. Its enchantment also means Vegeta could get pinned by it with no way to get up.

Jarnbjorn:
Not much here, the ax itself is just far higher than anything Vegeta has faced. It however has no enchantment against others using it, so Vegeta would have a good weapon if he managed to react to and survive long enough to snatch it.

Megingjord:
This is the belt of Thor, it takes his already absurd power and goes on to double it. As long as he has this on, it will likely make any multiplier Vegeta can do worthless. It also can amp Mjolnir and likely his other weapons as well to even greater power beyond Vegeta.

Huginn and Muninn:
Thor’s Ravens can act as scouts to keep an eye on Vegeta, or even work offensively. They are capable of traveling across realms in seconds, and tearing souls out of their bodies. Since Vegeta has no resistance to the latter, this is a good advantage.

Toothgrinder and Toothgnasher:
While they do not have many hax, Thor’s goat duo serves as good transportation and actual offensive backup, since they’ve been able to damage foes of his level.

So, with just his gear and summons, Thor has this pretty much in the bag as far as versatility and overall ability go. However, let’s take a look at the hax Thor himself has. Since there are plenty, I’ll run through all the big ones and list what Vegeta can counter.

Thorforce:
Reality Warping - No counter
Existence Erasure - Can potentially resist
Conceptual Manipulation - No counter
Life Manipulation - No counter
Death Manipulation - No counter
Quantum Manipulation - No counter

And more!

That is the Thorforce alone, and it already heavily destroys Vegeta thanks to things such as death and conceptual manipulation. For a fully powered Thor, you would introduce the Gaeaforce which can control the entire planet and its ecosystems. Mjolnir when fully in depth can absorb life-force, which can counter the use of ki outright. Hell, he even just stripped the Power Cosmic from Galactus, the immortality from Loki, the magical powers of the Wrecking Crew and the power of Cyttorak from Juggernaut. Followed by that nothing is stopping Thor from either ripping out Vegeta’s soul or rearranging his molecules. There’s genuinely nothing Vegeta could realistically do to counter any of this, while Thor’s wide arsenal is able to net him this category.

Vegeta’s only two win-cons would have been his Hakai and Spirit Fission; both of which are proven useless because Thor has already survived and resisted attacks that were on a similar scale to the Hakai. Furthermore, his Thorforce powers have already been outright stated that no one can cut off his connections to it other than Odin as Doctor Strange one of the most powerful sorcerers in the Marvel Universe was unable to cut off his connections to the Thorforce and the best he could do was temporarily suppress his power. As a result, it's safe to say that Vegeta’s Spirit Fission would not be a viable tactic for him to use to cut off Thor’s powers.

Cosmetics (Intellect, Experience, etc.)

Starting with Vegeta, he has consistently proven throughout the story of Dragon Ball that in battle, he’s a tactical master. One of his better examples of tactical prowess would be him baiting Android 19 into absorbing his Ki so he could get a clean hit on the clown-droid. He’s also shown plenty of moments of quick and effective thinking, such as using a Ki sword to stop him from falling off the Tournament of Power stage.

It’s also clear that he has great martial arts talent, as mentioned previously. He has plenty of different fighting techniques and has been able to match Goku in skill more times than can be counted. For references, Goku has been training in martial arts ever since he was a kid, and has trained under numerous masters, while fighting numerous unique opponents, his entire life.

In comparison to Vegeta, Thor has numerous advantages. To be fair, direct martial arts skill should be fairly comparable between the two. Both have tangled with beings thousands to millions of years old in terms of combat experience, and have fought warriors that have trained in multiple styles like Captain America and Shang-Chi. Vegeta does seem to have a very tiny edge in martial arts, but it’s minor to the point of irrelevancy.

On the other hand, experience however is undoubtedly in Thor’s favor. The Norse God has lived for thousands of years, easily making him a more experienced warrior than Vegeta.

So while Vegeta can potentially match the Asgardian in fighting skill, Thor’s big advantage in experience nets him a large win in terms of cosmetics.

Conclusion

And so where does this leave us? This leaves us with a conclusion that if there is ever a possible scenario where Vegeta was deemed stronger and more durable or that he could match Thor in power and durability via multipliers, Thor will still have his speed and haxes to fall back on. And with Thor having a number of potent abilities and haxes at his disposal, he can use it to screw Vegeta over if he realizes that he cannot simply smash his way out of a situation with Mjolnir like he usually does. Especially considering that the Saiyan Prince lacks any real means of countering the God of Thunder’s versatile abilities and Thor would be able to capitalize on this thanks to his greater speed advantage.

And that’s just looking at Thor in his base state, adding on things such as the Thorforce tips the scales even more in his favor, by basically giving him every important advantage he didn’t already have. With Thorforce he is guaranteed the physical stats advantage, has more abilities to use to dominate Vegeta, etc.

Despite Ultra Ego being Vegeta’s most powerful transformation, it has the fatal flaw of requiring Vegeta to take hits in order for him to gain more power. Not only would it allow Vegeta to be overwhelmed by opponents with superior stats, but it also leaves him vulnerable to abilities that could one-shot him. As mentioned above, Thor has superior stats and could therefore one-shot Vegeta in his big gamble. Not only that, but Thor is shown to be a very skilled and experienced warrior. He can easily outsmart Vegeta in his Ultra Ego form and capitalize on any openings to deliver a final blow, whether it's by unleashing the God Blast or the various haxes that he has that Vegeta has no resistance to.

As addressed already, Vegeta's Hakai will end up being fruitless against Thor. The God of Thunder has shown multiple feats of resistance against existence erasure that are on the same level as the Hakai or even greater. It also wouldn’t help that Thor’s speed advantage will make it extremely difficult for the Saiyan Prince to land the Hakai on his target.

Vegeta’s other new technique, the Spirit Fission, won’t be of help either. The best it can do is separate any power Thor has absorbed from him, but that’s it. Spirit Fission won’t be able to separate Thor from the Odinforce / Thorforce like some people might think. Doctor Strange, despite his immense power, wasn’t able to sever Thor’s connection with it, only suppress it momentarily, so it’s doubtful Vegeta would be able to accomplish the task with Spirit Fission which Vegeta has only recently used.

So overall while the Saiyan Prince is certainly a formidable warrior, he simply cannot compare to The God of Thunder’s overwhelming stats, abilities, versatility, resistances and experience.

Final Tally

Team Thor: Blue Igneous, Cyber, Adam, Akhil, Clockboxxer, Joshski, TMan, eXoRy, MKF4, MomoUra, thererealcalhoward, VampyreNVRmore, Phantom Falcon, Ad

Team Vegeta: None

  1. Honestly, figured this was the result. Thor's 60+ years of feats + Cates' recent Thor run has him doing unbelievable things. Still, I expect Vegeta to put up a good fight.

The only, and I mean only, ways I see DB giving Vegeta the win if they interpret the Force Spirit Fission to separate Thor from his power. Or, Vegeta (somehow) survives a God Blast in Ultra Ego and gets a massive boost to overwhelm Thor. Both wouldn't work, as outlined in the reasons above. But it's still something to consider.

At least Thor can redeem himself after getting lowballed to hell in Thor vs WW.

Sad no specific user verdicts. Always got a kick out of those. But thanks for all the time you guys went into making this.
